Fantastic experience: Our main surgery is the one in Tamworth, but if we are unable to get an appointment there the team often manage to get us in at Atherstone or Castle Brom. We've been to Castle Brom 3 times now and are always made to feel welcome. Our dog, Odesssa, always feels relaxed when visiting and we get a real sense that she's in good hands and come away happy that we have her on the best course of treatment. We would recommend Oakfield vets to anyone and having had dogs for 20 years now find them to be the most genuinely caring vets out there.

Fantastic experience: My experience of many visits to Oaklands @ Castle Brom over the years has been one empathy, informative and unfailing professional support from senior vet, Dr. Mikella Petsa, the nurses and reception staff. Especially when our blue roan of 15 years was helped gently out of his aged body at the end of things . Dr . Mikealla has left the practice now( Jan ‘26) but hopefully her colleagues will continue in the same vein .

Fantastic experience: Took our new little kitty Tasha Mctoal for her first routine check up and was seen by Mikaella Petsa. Mikaella is the most incredible and compassionate vet we have ever come across. So sad that she is moving on to pastures new, and would like to give her a big thank you for all she had done for our previous cats Charlie and Ella. Fantastic experience: Very patient with my dog - he whines a lot when at the vets and gets very anxious when seeing other dogs which is usually a very stressful situation but they made me feel a lot better about it. I would say to anyone using this vets you should get the pet plan. It saved me some money on the consultation and medications afterwards as I cannot insure my dog due to historical medical issues.

Fantastic experience: The staff are very welcoming . We had to bring a cat which needed a haircut . Due to covid wasnt an easy task but they did this and the cat feels better .

Fantastic experience: I can't thank or praise them enough for taking in an injured pigeon today. I'm a carer for my 88yr old mom and was in rush. But I couldn't just leave this poor pigeon that was suffering. I don't know what I'd of done if they hadn't. Im so grateful. Apparently not all vets do, so bless them.

Negative experience: The vets are nice enough but the prices for insurance claims are a complete rip off. Find another practice.

Fantastic experience: The vet who saw my dog was absolutely amazing shes so good with my timid shy dog she takes her time and doesn't rush my dog she listens to me and my concerns and takes me seriously no matter how silly the question may be she put me at ease she will answer all my questions with a smile the receptionists/nurses are amazing and have time for you and never rush you and they are also happy to answer any questions i have thank you for an amazing experience your team are amazing

Fantastic experience: I visited this vet yesterday as I was with a friend who was having his dog put to sleep. We were seen by Dr Mikaella Petsa and she was extremely caring, compassionate, and understanding. She helped to comfort my friend during the process and helped to guide him through it. Fantastic experience: This is a brilliant vets and Melissa and Laura from tamworth have looked after bonnie now for 6 months with two leg op and now going in Wednesday for another but they never give up on bonnie this little girl is a fighter and all the staff are beautiful xx

Negative experience: Worst service at a Vet Practice. Staff rude. Put phone down on an 80 year old customer. Customer had been with them for nearly 10 years with her Dog on petplan. Wrong information given and unhelpful responses when complaints needed to ne actioned. Told that no phone numbers available to call regarding poor service, as not allowed to give numbers out. If you want to complain then you have to submit it by email to Oakfield Castle Bromwich Vetenary Practice and they will forward it to relevant department after they have read it. The complaint would be about them, therefore they would be privvy to all details listed. I will be taking the matters I have raised further.

Negative experience: Receotionists/nurses not familiar with studies relating to my dog. Felt rushed by the vet and had to ask for my dog to be examined even though it was a 12 month checkup for a puppy. Vet appeared pre ocupied and did not praise or reassure her. Had to wait longer due to medication not being sent through to reception. No interest or advice given. If there was a nearer vet I would go to it.

Fantastic experience: I've used this practice for a couple of years now, the staff are all friendly, helpful and knowledgable and the prices are reasonable. The pet plan that you can have for your animals is really helpful too as it gives us some reassurance that no matter when we needed to take our dogs for injections etc we can do so with ease and the treatment is already paid for.

Negative experience: Been a member of this vet's for 20 plus years, it's gone badly down hill they gave my dog medication that should not have been taken together, they caused my dog to have a stroke they have no compassion it's just all about money, I would advise anybody to find a different vets this vets is all about money now please find a different vets, avoid like COVID
Negative experience: Used Oakfield Castle Bromwich for over 30 years.Ian Patterson was an amazing vet unfortunately he had to retire. Had my little dog put to sleep last year by Fabian (shocked he's joined the practice) I'll never forget that day! Fabian showed absolutely no empathy and told us the poor little soul was giving him the "run around" when the canula fell out. Even writing this the anger is still there. I now have a new dog but I'd never set foot in Oakfield again.!! Also when I went to collect his ashes they were handed over not a word spoken like a bag of shopping. WHAT A CARING PLACE...I don't think so

Negative experience: Great vets however the price they charge for medication is outrageous.. they charge me more than double the price you can get them online for. I just paid 34£ for 7 tablets.. that’s £4.7 per tablet.. Online price.. £1.4 per tablet

Fantastic experience: This is an amazing Vets. I go to the one at Castle Bromwich. The receptionists are kind and caring. The vets are amazing. One in particular, Emma has saved my dog, Bailey, who is just one year old, twice now. Without her, he would not be here. She is like his fairy godmother. I would highly recommend this practice.

Fantastic experience: I took my very senior cat to the vet who handled Mia respectfully at almost.20 years of age was treated with good care & consideration. The vet suggested, guided & advised. I was happy with Mia's treatment & appointment today & will be bringing Mia back.

Negative experience: I wish I could give a minus star for this vet How things have changed in 6 years Wouldn't even take a flea to here again Put my poor girl through unessary pain for no reason after 3 times telling them something wrong with throat or mouth area for 3 times not to be listened to they missed a 5cm lump under her tongue and let her home no pain relief All they wanted was us to put her more pain so they could get more money out of us No concern for our beautiful girl that she was in so much pain she couldn't eat or drink to say animal cruelty Is what they did .we had to take her to Your Vets to go over the rainbow bridge They told us there was nothing that could be done for her she was in agony They treated her with respect and compassion We used Oakfields because we thought we were getting top rate service instead we got second rate service Charged us £1000 they refunded us £500 would rather have given it to charity then leave it with them

Negative experience: Completly clueless, booked a neutering for my cat, showed up for an appointment, only to be told they cant do it on the day as she ate in the last 12 hours, however no one told me of this before? Offered another appointment a month away. Much better vets out there , id advise you to look elsewhere.

Positive experience: I have no trouble persai with the treatment of animals, just problems with the way treat us, when we are paying them for their service. Ring up at 8 am for appointments, what happens if dog gets ill after. Oh yes you can always pay an extra fee to get an “emergency” appointment that is held open. And now that have moved out of hours to Longbridge. What if you can’t get there. No thought at all for local clients, and don’t say it’s going to be better. IT IS ONLY BETTER FOR YOU, not your client

Fantastic experience: A fantastic place with great staff who have showed compassion and genuine care to my Jack Russell (who we were very worried about with her declining health). We have made regular visits recently due to these health issues and every time, we have left feeling satisfied with the service. On some of the visits, the vet did not even charge us but gave excellent advice for the consultations. I wholeheartedly recommend this practice. Thank you so much for taking care of my dog.

Negative experience: Not impressed at all with this practice, been miss diagnosed Not just once, had to have referals to diagnosis what was wrong and to get the right medication, I'm sure my dog of 15 years would have lost his sight /eyes if I'd have carried on with you, I've spent money on medication that I've only used once or twice then had to stop giving it him as it was making him worse, might as well throw money in the bin as that's where most of meds ended up. Negative experience: Came to my annual check up today with my dog Buddy, wasn’t entirely satisfied regarding check up, felt rushed and not listened to. The receptionist was slow and had to keep checking with head nurse regarding a telephone call so it was a long wait to get out of there. Another lady then said my dogs name and gave us new flea treatment and said I would have been told about the new treatment via the vet consultation to which I wasn’t so she had to tell me. Very disorganised and now looking to change vets I think

Fantastic experience: I can not thank everyone enough who has helped look after Kaiser the whole team in the background and the vets Mikaella & Fabian who have been outstanding, I just want to say again a huge thank you to the whole team it means a lot to have our boy back home and on the mend, thank you again we appreciate it so so much. Fantastic experience: Used Oakfields a few times this year after having an awful experience at a different vets with our cat. They are a little more pricey than some others but honestly worth every penny. All of the staff were always so compassionate and caring. Big thank you to to Mikaella for going above and beyond in making us feel comfortable with the care of our fur baby and helping make her journey over the rainbow bridge as easy as possible

Fantastic experience: Amazing service. My cats are so happy and healthy. Staff are perfect and I’ve never ever had a problem there. The place is so clean and comfortable for whenever a pet visits. Negative experience: Kept getting told someone would ring' and after 2 days of waiting and me constantly ringing them 2 say was still on the list to finally be told they don't have a vet who is confident to deal with a reptile' maybe take it of ur website and instead of keeping people waiting just say that as its 2 days u left me waiting when i could have gone somewhere else

Fantastic experience: We have been with oak field castle Bromwich vets for over 12 years with our lurcher and multiple rabbits. Bailey our lurcher is 12 years old and throughout her years she’s had many visits to oak field! They always try to see Bailey as soon as they can and always work around my working hours just to see her! Micaela is fantastic with Bailey as she is petrified of the vets Bailey has to have arthritis injections every 4 weeks and instead of stressing Bailey out each time taking her inside the vets Micaela comes out to our car everytime and administers her injection and gives her a check over. She doesn’t just do the injection and leave though she has a proper consultation with us asks how Bailey is doing in her old age soothes Bailey by taking to her and always goes through different treatments with us BUT ALWAYS considers how this will affect Bailey and her welfare. The receptionists are always really helpful if I have a query there or on the phone. Couldn’t recommend them enough they’ve been excellent these past few years. And a very special shout out to Micaela who always has your pets best interest at heart and will not make you go through loads of treatments spending loads of money if your dog doesn’t need it. Negative experience: Visited in Feb 2022… I keep getting texts and calls asking me to return so I felt compelled to leave this review!! I have been so angry and upset since the incident I am about to describe. For context, My cat is normally fine at the vets. I had only been in the room with the vet and my cat once due to covid rules but had no issues at the last vets and my cat was really settled. The vet at this surgery was told that I had never helped in the room and that this is my first experience of having a pet. My cat does generally not like to be held and I informed the vet of this. The vet critiqued me and my ability to not calm my cat down and raised his voice to me when my cat was startled by being injected. My cat growled through the whole appointment despite always being fine with the vets. I left the appointment in tears and with a frightened cat. Following the appointment when I paid, reception staff made no effort to comfort me or ask me if I was okay, despite being visibly upset. This vet clearly did not care for animals. He was rude, standoffish and brash. Don’t bother with this practice.

Positive experience: Burned 2 weeks and money without identifying the root cause of my cat's illness. Went to another place. They did a few tests and pinpoint the problem in a few hours.

Negative experience: This is the most unhelpful vets I’ve every used!! I had to move house due to health reasons and could not get my dog back to see the vet she’s been on tablets for months she had ran out so I asked if they could post some out to me they refused saying I had to see her.I am paying into their pet plan what a waste of time as I had to pay £200 to see another vet.

Negative experience: If I could give no stars I would. Terrible reception, awful vet who was clueless and gave wrong diagnosis after charging a fortune for tests... Have taken cat to your vets and have diagnosed correctly. Avoid at all costs. Not to mentioned 5 times the price of other places. Will be making official complaint and requesting a full refund.

Fantastic experience: I have given 5 stars as I was told that the service and vet was good. I had to be told this as I had to get my friend to take me dog in and bring the forms outside for me to fill in as I am disabled and wheelchair bound……… There is disabled access to the side of the building however as I drive a very large scooter (biggest on the market) I cannot make the 90degree turn at the top of the ramp. However a normal size scooter would be ok as would a wheelchair etc. However now that the staff are aware of this I now call when I am round the side at the disabled access door and a member of staff comes out to me and takes Arlo in for his appointment, once done the vet comes out to bring Arlo back and gives me a full run down of what was done etc. A Very Very Good service!!! Thank you to all the staff!!! *** I have edited this post as my previous post gave incorrect information to which I have now changed and hopefully I have given the correct information now ***

Positive experience: We have had two completely different experiences from Oakfield. We had three greyhounds, Spirit required a dental (which was done at a different vets, no reflection on Oakfield at all), after which he was not himself. We saw Mikaella who had seen Spirit several times, she know instantly he wasn't right, Mikaella worked with us and discussed options to give him the best care with the least amount of stress. Unfortunately, Spirit had a brain tumour and died in June. We felt Spirit was given so much love and support, we could not recommend Oakfield vets enough. The middle of July Shadow had an infection in his back foot which appeared clear then flare up again. We saw Mikaella and discussed the fact that Shadow was also limping on and off on his front paw. Mikaella suggested possible X-ray if it continued as she could not determine why. When the infection flated up a third time it was suggested that Shadow had his back paw X-rayed and I requested his front paw be done too, as his limp had increased. The vet decided not to X-ray as they could not feel an issue. Then on Shadow's check 2 weeks later they wanted him back in to X-ray the front paw! Shadow did not recover well after the previous anaesthetic so despite wanting him taken care of I was fearful of another anaesthetic so soon. I was told if I wasn't happy I could take him somewhere else! I feel that the level of care depends on the vet and this should not be the case.

Positive experience: My Friends dog was lost . It was reported to this vet and they rang to say someone else had called them after finding the dog and were taking her there. We arrived before the lady arrived with the dog and when she got there the Vets, rightly so, checked the microchip details and my friends paper work to confirm it was her dog. I always take dogs here if they're found without owners. So far each one has had its microchip checked and ended up reunited with its owner.

Negative experience: Over £250.00 Per hour! RIP OFF. Medication is 25% over RRP. The treatment did not work. Over £100 of my pension wasted. Bow your heads in shame for ripping off a pensioner. Also will you stop sending me texts begging for more money.

Negative experience: Sat here waiting for a call back since 5pm, it’s now 6.30c they’ve closed, and no call back. They are more concerned about making money than the welfare of an animal, left my dog in pain, won’t order his medication as they want to weigh him first. Yet his medication is not prescribed based on weight. So won’t order until we have a consultation, decided to tell me on a Friday night at 5pm. Still waiting for a call back. Even though it’s only been 7 months since his last unnecessary check up and his meds haven’t changed in 3 years. I’ve had to contact a specialist to try and get him seen as an emergency. I wouldn’t mind, they misdiagnosed his condition in the first place, the delay in a correct diagnosis is why he now has permanent damage and in daily medication. They tried to empty his glands and caused him internal damage needing antibiotics and pain killers , they also charged me for!! I should have spotted the red flags then. A reply will probably coming asking to contact the practice manager if I want to discuss further.. what’s the point? I discussed it before this review and still waiting for a call back now .. ADVOID !!!

Negative experience: I have been with this vets for years but something as changed with them it seems to me it all about money and how to rip people off the vet gave my dog to different medicine that conflicted with each of that mad my dog really sick when confronted they acted dumb and made out that couldn’t happen it wasn’t till I told them the out of hours vet told me it could and to go a check on your computer she came back saying o your right no sorry jus your right it’s all about money with them my dog is still not right I advise if your love you pet don’t take it here

Negative experience: absolutely awful vets and would not recommend as they care more about ripping people off and charging them for pointless operations. My animal went in with an issue and they charged me £400 to fix it.. 3 days later he had to be put down as his kidneys were failing which a very simple blood test revealed. However, no blood test was taken when I first went in and before I spent £400. No proper due diligence was carried out and their argument for this was because I never chose their gold star treatment which would have cost me £2000
