Fantastic experience: Great experience with all our animals at Heathside Vets. Recent diagnosis of feline asthma for our cat by Toby who kept us well informed throughout process. Would highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: Our cat Max had a brain tumour and was referred promptly which saved his life. All the staff are extremley caring about the animals they treat. Highly professional and I would not take my pet anywhere else.

Negative experience: Heath side charge to much money they are money happy and they take know consideration for the animals or there owners if you havant got money you dont see a vet and they should consider people that cant afford high prices and they dont except monthly payments and that is wrong it should be about the animals not just the money side of it there prices are to high and that needs to change the vets are lovely and the nurses are they need to lower the prices for people that are on low income and pensioners .

Negative experience: This was a fantastic vets, when independent. Since the take over pricing has increased significantly, the phone systems are like getting through to a huge organisation, emergency and weekend appointments are charged at a premium. Very sad to see, a rip off for animal owners and horrible for the team there to deal with the frustration of fleeced customers.

Positive experience: OK generally, but reception can be short with clients at times.

Fantastic experience: This vets is so good. Jeremy our vet retired and I was a bit concerned who we would see next. On Saturday we saw Toby who was amazing. He put my mind at rest about my dog who had been ill for a few days. She seems to like Toby as much as she liked Jeremy. All the staff here are friendly and helpful.

Fantastic experience: A fantastic veterinary practice. The staff all care so much about the welfare of their patients, going above what you’d normally expect from a veterinary practice. Sadly we lost one of our older dogs to cancer a few years ago, and the staff were all so upset as they all regarded Maxxy Boy to be one of their own pets. We have moved away from the local area, but we still continue to use this practice because of the way that our pets are treated. Each one of our pets is regarded as if they belong to the staff.

Negative experience: DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT CHOOSE THESE VETS IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR PETS!!! Recently had our dog in for scans to check for cancer and was given the all clear by these vets. This is after they charged us for an out of hours vet due to the concerns we had for are dog as she was not doing too well. Was sent away with some antibiotics and told to keep eye on her. After she had not improved we choose to get a 2nd opinion from another vet and on doing scans was told she did indeed have cancer and that we would be advised to put her down as she was in a lot of pain. How can 2 vets give 2 different diagnosis? Are dog has been suffering in pain as we were told she did not have cancer and antibiotics would help her. Please if you care about your pets do not use these monsters!!!

Fantastic experience: Staff are a delight which is just as well given the awkward access - but not insurmountable with their willing help + ramp - with the same levels of patience and understanding extended to pet parents as well as to the pets themselves. No complaints about pet (dog in my case) health care and Mia loves going, as did the late Mickey before her.

Fantastic experience: Poor old Georgie, after 9 years with Cushings and being treated by Heathside, finally reached the end and I cannot praise too highly the treatment she and I received. After the sad farewell I was surprised (and pleased) not to be asked to settle the bill at the time, I was far too upset. I learnt today that they contacted Petplan who settled my outstanding account, cancelled the policy and sent me their condolences. Today I received a sympathy card from Heathside who had also arranged the cancellation of my other insurance for Georgie. Their compassionate and efficient procedures are outstanding and I would go nowhere else. Thank you so much.

Negative experience: Prescribed my dog too high a dose of medication which led to several complications and numerous vet visits (at another practice) which I have had to pay hundreds for. Not very professional in my opinion.

Fantastic experience: All of the staff are so lovely and helpful, attended as an emergency appointment today and even though they were fully booked they managed to squeeze us in for a pet that had suddenly gone downhill this morning. The vet was extremely kind and friendly and explained everything in detail and I left feeling so much better and at ease, and with all the medication needed. While I was there some clients who had sadly lost their pet were checking out and I noticed that the staff member who helped them was so kind and empathetic, exactly how you would hope to be treated when something horrible like that happens. All 4 of my pets are registered here and I've only ever experienced great service, I would definitely recommend them.

Fantastic experience: For a few weeks before we brought our puppy home we made a point of stopping random dog walkers and asking them which local vet they used. About 50% of them said that they used Heathside Veterinary Surgery and of those there was nothing but good reports, so our choice of vet was made for us. We are glad we made that choice and we would recommend them highly.

Fantastic experience: Since moving our boys from their previous vet to Heathside we have had such a weight lifted off our shoulders Our Cat has has been in for 2 'day trips' since December with a bad back and a gash on his leg and both times - despite not anticipating having to have him in on those days - we were treated with total respect and care when we needed it most Our dog has been in a few times with an ongoing Gastrointeritis issue and again we couldn't have been happier with the service provided. Thank you Heathside, we will always recommend you to our customers & extended fur family

Fantastic experience: There’s something very reassuring about the fact that my dog is known by name when she visits and that despite having her nails clipped regularly at the Vets - she is treated so well she hasn’t developed a fear of visiting them. I always feel completely confident that she receives the best possible care.

Fantastic experience: I cannot praise this vets enough we've had our cat registered with them for 11 years and every vet we've seen has made us feel that he was special and cared for which meant a lot to us. Last year he went missing and turned up late in the day with an injury we took him down without an appointment and they saw and treated him immediately. Sadly 3 weeks ago he went missing again we found him 48 hours later with severe injuries from being hit by a car. Jennifer was absolutley fantastic she treated him with so much care and compassion and us as we were a mess!) sadly we lost him and they were so kind compassionate and sensitive for the whole 11 years we were with them. I cannot praise them enough 5 stars from us thank you ,thank you

Fantastic experience: Nothing but the utmost professionalism from this kind and caring practice. Our timid Labrador now pulls at her lead to get into the waiting room. They also have her favourite sort of biscuit. Any sort!

Fantastic experience: We came here so our cat could have a consultation/heart scan which was carried out by David. It was quite far to travel with our cat but was recommended to us by our local vet as they do not provide these services. All staff members were very friendly when entering the clinic and throughout the appointment, even when leaving they expressed well wishes for our cat. Everything that we came to the vets for was carried out and explained to us thoroughly, in a way we would understand. David was very honest and knowledgable. This was expensive but that is expected for healthcare and we were told the exact cost it would be prior to the appointment and during so there were no surprises. We cannot fault the experience and was worth the long travel.

Fantastic experience: Everyone is really friendly and helpful. Procedures and costs have always been fully discussed so there are no surprises. They took amazing care of my dog and provided regular updates around her recovery. A special shout to Millie for all her help and care given during the visit.

Negative experience: Been with practice for a few years now, will be finding alternative for our cat. Had enough. Staff really need to be more friendly, the prices are extortionate and unrealistic. They don’t offer routine bloods or IV drips when the animal is put under for treatment, these are all additional. Last visit we overheard the animal welfare agency talking about a dog they recently put down and it’s injuries, honestly be more sensitive in a waiting room, have that discussion in private! They are not suitable for cats. Last injury my cat sustained they didn’t even clean her pus filled wound just gave her a shot and off you go. Receptionist need to be more empathetic as well as some of their vets. They refuse flea treatment when they haven’t weighed the cat recently but won’t clean a pus filled wound properly. Seriously ridiculous, get your priorities straight.

Fantastic experience: I thought I may have panicked about taking my cat to the vet over something small and was reassured that I made the right decision. I had all my options explained very clearly to me and as ALWAYS the practise was fantastic! Best vets service I've ever used.

Negative experience: Waited 50 mins over my apptm time with no explanation as to why. The follow up apptm was then barely a couple of minutes which was was fine to check a sore paw. But was then charged full £50 for a consultation fee (?) This feels excessive for this type of visit.

Fantastic experience: After having come to the decision to peacefully end one of our pets lives this weekend, I wanted to share the experience. We called by unannounced on Saturday morning and the receptionist, nurses and Jeremy looked after us throughout the whole journey. Couldn’t have asked for any more support during a difficult moment. They have always been great with the usual checkups but this was a first for us to deal with.

Negative experience: Customer service really needs improvement. When my cat was put down I was made to stand for ages waiting to pay whilst the nurses at the desk had their chat. Before I moved house, my previous vets after putting an animal to sleep would just tell you to go home and not be insensitive to expect you to wait to pay after such an emotional event.

Fantastic experience: Love love love this vet! Tristan is absolutely brilliant and I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my two boys! He put me at ease and gave both cats a through health check. The reception is a bit oddly laid out and my partner did trip over the scales sending our cat into orbit but the staff where all brilliant and checked the cat over and gave my partner a cold compress!

Phoned Heathside for advice and without thinking they said to bring him straight round despite not being registered with them. They were absolutely fantastic from start to finish. Would highly recommend and we ourselves will now be registering with them
