Fantastic experience: Used a few vets over the years but nothing compares to service here.

Fantastic experience: The best vet I've found in Portsmouth. Came here due to moving house and trying a few independent and chain vets, but was never full happy with them. Initially came for a course of new vacs for my newest cat, Zephyr, and then instantly wanted to move my older cat over. They've seen me twice now at short notice due to my cat having an eye issue, then tonight for taking a funny turn. The vets & nurses we've seen have always been incredible, they never rush, take their time and explain things properly. They are often late for routine appointments, however you never know what is going on behind the scenes. Given they've seen us twice at short notice once on a Friday night at 6:45pm(!) I cannot complain. I imagine our small emergencies could have caused somebody else to wait longer, it's swings and roundabouts. They do have a fancy coffee machine and a lot of types of tea while you wait, so that certainly softens the waiting time. Upfront pricing, clear after care for surgery and even 10% off for Military and Blue Light card holders, couldn't ask for more!

Fantastic experience: Sadly our old cat collapsed and died unexpectedly on Saturday evening. I wasn't registered at this Vets but contacted them Sunday morning to ask about cremation. Staff at the Portsmouth Clinic were kind, compassionate and very helpful, providing an excellent service at a difficult time.

Fantastic experience: Our 8mth old pup was recently spayed at The Pet Vet Portsmouth. From start to finish, the attention, care and advice given was of the highest standard. Every single member of staff we dealt with were professional, friendly, but most importantly, really invested in the care of our pup. We were kept informed throughout the whole day of the procedure, and felt we could contact at any time, both on the day and after we got home, if we had any problems. Fantastic experience: Recently changed vets and so pleased to have done so. Always made to feel welcome and don't feel at all rushed. All the staff are so helpful. Unfortunately my Minnie Schnauzer is not keen on going but who wants to go anywhere when they are not feeling well. Well done to you all.

Fantastic experience: The best vets in Hampshire. Our 3 dogs are registered here with one recently needing extensive surgery. The care and compassion shown to all our pets is amazing. At a very upsetting time, all the practice staff have been wonderful, managing our expectations at all stages. I am happy to say that Sky came through all her surgeries fine and is a happy 12 year old Siberian Husky! Shadow is a 12 year old Saluki Cross, and recently needed a check up for "funny episodes". I had to leave Shadow for the day with the Team in Portsmouth, knowing how amazing she would be cared for, getting all the snuggles and reassurance both she, and we, needed. More recently, we lost our beautiful big boy, Taz, very suddenly at home. Once again The Vet Portsmouth guided us through the process of taking Taz to their practice, what happens next, giving us fur, paw and nose prints and arranging for our amazing boy to be back with us in a week. The team really do show compassion and are so caring, making devastating times with our beloved pets, bearable. Each time we visit the practice, Taz is always remembered - it feels like you are walking into your best friends home. Thank you The Vet Portsmouth - you are amazing.

Fantastic experience: What a wonderful place! I took my dog for the first time today who is very old. He is normally scared of vets but was not nervous at all. The vet and receptionist were so lovely and friendly, and incredibly kind to my dog. The place is very clean and inviting. I wish I had moved over to them sooner.

Fantastic experience: Love the team at The Pet Vet. They have been our vet for 6+ years since we adopted Chester. The girls on reception, Lisa and Emily, are always so friendly. They have always been attentive and taken the best care of him. He's a nervous boy since an emergency visit and an operation and they're so calm and patient with him. I also love that they are connected with our insurance provider, VetSure, and when we had to make a claim it was so easy and simple and they took care of everything. Thanks Lisa! Jo & Mark x

Fantastic experience: I would and have, recommended this practice, nothing is too much trouble and staff are extremely helpful and approachable. The vets in particular make you feel like they have a genuine interest in your pet and it’s not just a job Very happy having my pets registered there.

Fantastic experience: Vets were very kind, managed to fit my cat in for a same day appointment even though I booked an appointment for the next day. Over the phone they were helpful about finding out payment methods after my concerns about not being able to afford treatment. After everything, the overall cost was much cheaper than expected and they allowed me to sign up for a premium health plan for my cat which reduced the cost significantly. The receptionist was also very helpful and kind and explained the overall health plan and it's benefits and help me set it up.

Fantastic experience: I changed vets over a year ago to Pet Vet as I was dissatisfied with the service I received at the former practice. Pet Vet has been a breath of fresh air. Everyone is super friendly and eager to help. They often go the extra mile which makes the customer feel valued. Thank you

Negative experience: Thought this was meant to be an affordable vets. What an absolute load of lies. Bought my dog here as he had developed a cough (wasn't kennel cough). Got charged £105 for 10 days worth of antibiotics plus £59 to see the vet for less than 5 minutes. Then all I was told when I left she said she just wanted to see him in a week to make sure he was ok. I wasn't told this was a follow up appointment and they were going to try and charge me another £49 what a joke for yet againg less than 5 minutes with the vet. Absolute daylight robbery. This should be classed as extortion . This greedy is why so many animals end up in kennels or animal shelters. Won't be taking any of my pets there again. Total rip off!!!

Fantastic experience: I took my dog to the vet for a checkup because he was sick, the nice doctor prescribed him medicine, it is slowly wearing off and he is starting to feel better.

Fantastic experience: The vet is good and knowledgeable. The vet said that coco was booked in for nail clipping which I said was incorrect it was because she did not eat and her poo has changed colour and the vet took bloods and she commented that coco was good condition, weight and on a good diet which she doesn't always see.

Fantastic experience: Great service, it was a first visit for me and my little cat, the receptionist and the nurse were absolutely lovely and talked me through everything, they could see i was nervous, nothing was a problem

Negative experience: Rude staff visited yesterday the reception staff are worse than doctors would never take my cat there again

Fantastic experience: My son and I brought both our cats and were seen at the same time for a routine check up. The nurse friendly and informative, both cats coped very well with the injection, one especially was very timid. The receptionist also was efficient and friendly. Altogether a pleasant experience.

Negative experience: 1 star isn't a reflection on the staff it's a reflection on the rip off prices they are charging people. £400 plus for a blood test is absolutely disgusting to charge.

Positive experience: Very caring vet. Didn’t feel rushed at all. All very friendly.

Fantastic experience: This was the most welcoming vet i have ever been to. I took my cat in for his annual booster vaccination and everyone was so kind and the vet i saw explained everything she was doing and made sure that if i had any questions they were answered. Would highly recommend

Fantastic experience: Good clean spacious reception area ideal if you have anxious or nervous dogs and the staff are very helpful. I just wish the consultancy fees could be lower but it seems the same everywhere now.

Fantastic experience: Been bringing molly since she was a pup and has been looked after soo well. She's had 2 surgeries, it's like taking her to a family friend rather than a vets. Molly loves visiting all the staff and they love her to.

Fantastic experience: This is the best Vet I have ever used. Never have to wait for an appointment and their opening hours are far better than others. You also can just walk in and get your animal seen if important, but never had a problem getting an appointment. Their Pet Plan is also really good value. The lady vet I saw most recently was excellent, thorough and gave excellent reassurance, recommendations and saw no need for costly treatment for my dog.

Fantastic experience: When my cat (tizzie ) sadly passed away at home spoke to the pet vet who were wonderfully compassionate and helpful with the next stages of the process we had her cremated and she is back with us where she belongs

Fantastic experience: I'm so glad that my dog Mr Parkin is registered with the Pet Vet Portsmouth, even though its a long way to travel from Warminster in Wiltshire. Mr Parkin was a rescue and terrified of men, heaving been badly abused as a youngster. At Portsmouth he is always seen by a lady vet and loves the attention he gets from the vetinary nurses and carers. I can honestly say that my dog really loves his visits to the PET VET PORTSMOUTH.

Fantastic experience: Had my dog Bobby signed up here for the last few years. They have been nothing bu helpful and kind throughout every visit and treatment. Sadly had to say goodbye to him last month, and they were compassionate and helpful through every moment. 10/10 would recommend. Every pet going forward will be registered and treated here.

The staff are absolutely lovely.... Can always get an appointment.... And their online booking system is easy.

Fantastic experience: My kitten recently had her spay and has been very well looked after during the time she was with the pet vet. She had a telephone check up the following day and a physical check up and is due her final one to be signed off. During this time I have every confidence that she has been cared for well dealing with engaged staff members, a good experience during a worrying time.

Fantastic experience: My dog Peggy was recently spayed at The Pet Vet, and I was very impressed from beginning to end. Firstly, I phoned a few times, and the staff were always happy to answer any questions I had, and very helpful. On the day of the op, I was kept informed throughout, which was great, and she had 2 post op checkups , The vet was friendly and gave lots of advice. The surgery looks very clean and every time I visited, one member of staff or another had a bottle of cleaning solution in hand. Im very happy I chose this practice as my vet, I couldn't fault the friendly helpful service me and peggy recieved.

Fantastic experience: The vet was very helpful, welcoming and non judgmental. My leopard gecko has been showing a symptom i was worried about and the vet reassured me that i was caring for her perfectly fine. Absolutely lovely vet surgery 100% recommend!

Fantastic experience: My dog went in for his Neutering. Really good from start to finish. Had it book only 2/3 weeks in advance so didn't have to wait long. Was talked through everything & given enough help and all went well.

Fantastic experience: The staff here are so friendly and accommodating, never short of great advice when asked and my kittens all absolutely love the fuss and cuddles they get. The staff all make the kittens feel secure and this means they are not at stressed. 100% recommend

Fantastic experience: I’ve been a few times recently and each time I’m greeted with a friendly and welcoming lady who really is lovely. She made a big fuss of my dog who was feeling poorly. I saw the same vet twice which never used to happen which is great for consistency, she too was lovely and took her time and was great with my dog. I feel that my experience at the pet vet has massively improved since taking over from the previous practice

I cannot fault the staff for looking after me & the cat, I have recently moved to this vets and what a good decision that was, what wonderful staff & vets x

Fantastic experience: I was very nervous about having my kitten (Halo) spayed. I had Franky from the Team ring me the day before to discuss Halo’s surgery in which she answered all my questions and helped me understand what was going to happen on the day. The Morning of the operation she greeted me and made me feel at ease about Halos surgery so I didn’t fell as worried. I am Really grateful for this as I felt she generally cared for my kitten and my worries. Franky is a huge credit to your Team and want to say a huge Thank You for this. Halo is now recovering at home

Fantastic experience: They were really helpful when I was unable to get an appointment at my local branch. They were also sooooo welcoming which was very appreciated when I was very concerned about my cat.

Fantastic experience: Took our kitten to The Vet (Portsmouth) for initial vaccinations and castration. All appointments were on time, efficient and issue free. Staff are kind/friendly/professional, they love our cat. Practice is well run and its evident the operational procedures are well established and thought out. Supposedly a family owned business so +1 for that too. Will continue to use The Vet for future visits.

Fantastic experience: My little baby rat Bruce was picked up from a breeder in an awful state. They slotted me in really fast as was amazing with him. He's on medication. Everyone was so friendly and compassionate. Will use this vets all the time absolutely amazing. Little Bruce Lee says thank you

Fantastic experience: A bit late but, I've always had pleasant and helpful experiences here. The staff, vets and nurses have always been helpful. But I need to give a special thanks to the vet nurse Nicky (apologies if I spelt it wrong). I've gone in with a puppy that a bit nervous. Nicky was helpful, patient and instructive as to tips which proved helpful.

Fantastic experience: A really lovely place. The waiting area is spacious with free refreshments. The staff make you feel like your pet is the cutest on the planet! Reasonably priced without cutting corners. When it came to the time the needed to be PTS the staff were just lovely. Very understanding and empathetic. Thank you for looking after all my dogs.

Fantastic experience: My dogs Vet Claire is just amazing. She always gives 110% in her job, checks my baby from nose to tail and thoroughly too, none of this glancing over him and out the door to get the next patient in. We love our fur babies like children, so when we have to take them to see the vet with worrying conditions it’s a very stressful time for us and our pets. So having a vet like Claire is a Godsend I always leave feeling relieved and confident that she has checked him throughly. The reception team are also so lovely, helpful and kind, they actually care about you and your animals here so I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this practice !!

Positive experience: They were very good at supporting my husband when we put down our beloved cat! They even sent us a condolences card-which I thought it was a nice gesture the process of identifying her illness was painful and very expensive to navigate, until now we did not understood how to support our cat or how to manage her illness well as they did 3 blood test with no conclusive results, - one blood test was lost so we did another one complementary. We did not know what to do and we were asked to pay an estimated cost of almost 800£ to have information about how to treat her condition.following that we were asked to pay more to know what what’s wrong with her. I felt terrible , as we do not have the means to keep wasting money and not know how best to support her. We asked forinfo but they did not gave us any pointers as to how we should proceed. At the end we bought organic medication and supported her at home until she was very unwell. At that point we contacted them again and they helped us to put her to rest! We took our other cat out of the pet plan but we keep our dogs as they are very young and healthy so they receive the basic care and keep their immunisations up to date for a good price. If something goes wrong then I will consider taking them out. In the meantime we keep them with them. We have our other old lady (cat ) with us still and we have engaged another vet that can inform us more if something goes wrong with her- I hope we still have some more years with her! Our lovely Frida passed 2 weeks ago but she gave us lovely 15 years!

Fantastic experience: Great service at the Vet. We moved house further away and decided to stay with them due to our positive experiences here. I can always get an appointment when I need one, all the staff are really cheerful and helpful. My dog has been diagnosed with a heart condition and both times when she’s been really unwell the Vet has helped us out professionally and calmly during those stressful times! I think my dog must be one of very few animals that actually gets excited to go to the vet - which I think is testament to just how well they care for her. Thank you!

You will feel a sense of care for your pet as opposed to just taking the money like some vets. Can highly recommend Eleanor at the practice. Fantastic experience: The Vet in North Harbour are always happy and accommodating and treat pets with such beautiful compassion and care.

Fantastic experience: We brought rize in for her nails clipped and was so nervous as she can be very unpredictable. But I must say Taylor was an absolute super star with her. We really thought you would need to get the riot gear out for her but it was not needed at all. Taylor done an absolute fantastic job with her. We couldn't believe that was the same cat. She gave us valuable advice on how to deal with her and put our minds at rest. Your the best Taylor. Love Mrs wickenden. X

Fantastic experience: Took my dog here for the first time. All staff were so friendly and patient with my rather excitable, friendly dog. The vet explained fully what medication he would need and next steps. Would definitely recommend

Fantastic experience: We had a lovely experience with them, they were kind and lovely to our cat Merlin ☺️ They were quick and efficient.

Negative experience: I gave one star because I couldn’t give zero stars. I took my dog there, and the vet told me my dog was sick and needed very expensive treatment. My dog is a toy breed, and the doctor also claimed he was probably older than what the seller had told me. It seems the seller misled me, selling the dog as a toy breed because he was sick. The doctor refused to give my dog his second vaccination, asking me to wait two weeks before starting the vaccines. They charged me £70 and didn’t even properly examine the dog. The next day, I took my dog to Companion Care, and they told me he was fine. My dog wasn’t eating because he didn’t like the food I was giving him. They simply advised me to change his food. The vet at Companion Care checked his ears, tummy, and microchip, which the previous vet didn’t even bother to examine. He only asked if I had insurance. The service at the first clinic was terrible. Now they’re calling me, claiming I missed an appointment and owe them money after they told my dog was dying. Only a crazy person would take their dog to that place again!

Fantastic experience: Great practice. Been here lots of times with my two rescue podencos, for routine and more urgent treatment, and always had excellent service and care. One of my dogs is very nervous and the vets always take their time to make him feel safe. This visit was for annual boosters and I had a really thorough consult with the vet on a range of issues. The reception staff are very friendly and helpful. They were very efficient sorting a prescription for me to purchase online (and previously they've been very quick with insurance claims). Will keep going back!

Fantastic experience: This vet went above and beyond for our lucky. He went in with a grass seed in his foot and had to have it removed. Lucky is a very anxious dog and cried and barked alot. They decided to do his procedure earlier than planned to reduce his stress and anxiety levels. His after care was excellent, with the team of nurses giving him lots of fusses. He is due to have a dental, and they have given us options to reduce his anxiety by giving us a plan tailored to him. I cannot express how caring the team are. I would definitely recommend these vets .

Fantastic experience: All of the staff here are genuine, lovely people who always have time to make a fuss of our boy, Kronk. We’ve been with The Vet - Portsmouth, since our boy was just 8 weeks old and I wouldn’t want to take him anywhere else. He’s a bit of a clumsy boy at times, so we have said hello a few times over the past year - every single time they’ve been really knowledgeable and understanding. We won’t be taking him anywhere else and we’re very lucky Kronk has such a good relationship with his vet! Highly recommend!
