Fantastic experience: My Cavapoo dog had to have surgery on her leg due to cruciate ligament injury. The vet and the staff were very good the surgery and after care were good too. Obviously expensive but thats what pet insurance is for!

Fantastic experience: I joined Vets for Pets after becoming very disillusioned with my previous vets when they were sold off to one of the big companies operating in the UK. I have found such a difference at this practice with all the staff being friendly and helpful. I am confident they care and want the best for my dogs, and the vets always take great care to fully explain any treatment the dogs may need together with a breakdown of costs so I am able to make a considered choice on the treatment offered.

Fantastic experience: First time that Eli and I have been seen by Amelie, and we were as happy as we have been on all of our previous visits. She wanted to understand the back story with his condition, any recent issues and how responsive he was to the treatment. We also discussed alternatives to his current medication. My overriding wish is for my dog to be as happy and healthy as possible, and I got the feeling that was the Vets objective too.

Fantastic experience: My dog Wilson was in so much pain, the nurse got straight into examine Wilson doing movements on his legs. He said Wilson is in so much pain as his back was arched, he went to take his temperature in his back passage and noticed his annual glands was blocked, he cleared a lot of it and gave Wilson a pain killer. He explained every to us , if he needs to come back in in 2 weeks with no change. When we left Wilson was he was jumping around no problems at all. Thank you so much.

Fantastic experience: Had a vaccination due for my dog. Switched over from another vet recently and this was the first time I had an appointment here. Whole process was quick, easy and seamless. The vet took his time and was thorough with the check up, answered my questions and gave as much information and detail as he could for my queries. Gave me recommendations going forward. I didn't feel like I was just being rushed in and out. I arrived early as I had questions and the staff were helpful from start to finish. Very happy with it all.

Positive experience: The nursing team and receptionists are all so amazing - our dog is in a lot and although he’s seen several different vets they always keep an eye out for him and communicate amazingly well with us. It’s very reassuring that they know his name and he wags his tail when he sees the nursing team (he’s terrified of the vets so a wag is huge!)

The vet consultation was superb, my dog was the most relaxed I had seen him as he hates going. Operation performed that day with clear information on possible outcomes and costs. Fantastic experience: As a family, we have used Companion Care pretty much since they opened, and have grown to know all of the staff (past and present) very well. They have taken such good care of all of our animals, from dogs and cats, to rabbits and rats, and even a tortoise over the years, and have shown the same level of patience, understanding, love and care to each and every one of them, regardless of species. Losing a pet is never easy, but this has been a particularly hard few months for us, losing both of our Cocker Spaniels within 8 months of each other - Bella, 11, suddenly last July to cancer, and Bailey on the 19th February, at the grand old age of 16. I cannot put in to words how grateful I am to everyone at Companion Care for their kindness and support throughout this difficult time, always so patient in taking the time to go through every available option with us, and allowing us the time to make those tough decisions. A special thank you to Antony (who I’ve know longer than my other half) for always being there for us. And to Christiaan and Sara too. I very much hope that one day, when our hearts have healed a little, that maybe we’ll cross your threshold again, with a new bundle of furry four-legged joy! Fantastic experience: Just wanted to say 'Thank you' to the staff at Companion Care. Sadly we had to say goodbye our border collie Jojo. From needing to bring the appointment forward by a day as Jojo was declining rapidly to providing a blanket for her at the time and a paw print with a cutting of fur. We also recieved a hand written card signed by staff. We collected Jojo ashes today and the practice manager made a point of sitting with us and offering her condolences as well as putting a fresh rose with Jojo's casket. Very simple but thoughtful touches which showed compassion for us at a difficult time . My only gripe is payment being wanted in the midst of us having to say goodbye to Jojo. This was something that could have been handled more sensitively and in a timely way. Thank you to all staff again,

Fantastic experience: My 2 cockapoos needed to be boarded very soon due to immedoate emergency essential repairs needed to bathroom & kitchen. Stubbington Ark needed all up to date health records soonest! Bruno's were fine, but Buddy's weren't & needed immediate attending to, otherwise he couldn't go. We would be stuck. Including I am really suffering from a Bulging (slipped) disk, which means I am not mobile. But thanks to swift action by Sara, who responded to this big ask, & accommodatingly arranged last minute urgent appointment for current checks & vaccinations, & then efficient transmission of information via email to Stubbington Ark, both our dogs are good to go!! Sara clearly understood the predicament I was in, & showed real empathy in dealing with this in the manner that she did. Fortunately a family member could transport the dogs to & from the vet at the last minute! And, also a big thank you to the vet who saw our 2 boys at such short notice & enabled us to all to get the situation sorted in time for all concerned! I have used Companion Vets since 2022 when we had Buddy our first puppy, then was joined by Bruno in 2023. We have absolutely no cause for complaint. All staff have been wonderful, personally & professionally, throughout.

Negative experience: You get the unfortunate hard sell to sign up with their care plan via the Animal Healthcare Company Ltd. Cancelled after six months but was still charged £10 the next month even after having sent a written cancellation notice, that was acknowledged. (AHC have a postal address) Disappointed.

Negative experience: On Monday 29th August, I took my dog in with vomit and diarrhea, vet examined her, gave me some food for her and said if no better bring her back. Tuesday I ended up taken her back, to another try this, she still eaten and was vomiting , in the end I ended up taken her to emergency vet he said she was in pain. Wednesday and yet again had to go back to vets who took in put her on a drip throughout the day, i couldnt understand why they didnt keep her in overnight, as they have on their website 24hr care. I thought they might take her in over night, this is false people, (24hr care is to tell you to take them to emegency vets they dont arrange it you have to do it) 18:30 they gave her gave back, walking her out, she vomited and passed blood, took her straight back only to get told well she is old and some of the linnings are weak. Thursday the stress to this poor thing by having to take her back next for another days stay, On Friday she was so weak, they kept her in all day, i Brought her home. Due to them sending her home everynight, i had a total of 8hrs over the 4 days, Friday they put her back onto a drip, by now she had lost so much weight in a week, went to collect at 17:45, they still said she is old but some signs of improvement. Well got her back home and she was so unwell she was sleeping sitting down and struggled to walk. I thought on Friday, I'll ring a home visit company to come to my house Saturday to put out the pain she was in. So moral of this story is don't trust their website it is falsely claiming 24hr care. Don't trust the vet I had. Watch your wallet as my bill over the course of 5 days ended up being £1600, which i wouldnt of minded paying if she was getting the best care. I have known and used Companion care since it was first built and Antony Bielovich started it up. I have another dog which I am looking into moving to a vets that can give better care and not just in it for the money.

Fantastic experience: We found a black and white cat in the middle of St Mary's Road. It had been in a hit and run and was very very badly injured. We took the poor cat who was hanging onto life to Comp Care all the staff were fantastic and the Veterinary folk outstanding and treated the poor animal with love and respect and professionalism. Sadly the cat was too badly injured. Thank you on behalf of myself, wife and very young grandchildren. Question...was the cat microchipped and the owners informed. Txs again J

The practice was able to book my cat in for a review and we found the vet to be kind, friendly and handle the cat with care. Fantastic experience: Took my dog who was in pain but couldn't find the source myself to see the vet , Bailey is a typical chuchua who won't usually be handled by strangers to my surprise Evelyn made an immediate connection and managed to find what's wrong she was amazing I'm still in shock how good she was handling Baily , thank you ever so much .
It is always a worry when our pets have unexplained pain, and when they are anxious or nervous around strangers. Our team are very aware of the worries both owner and per can have, and I am so glad that Evelina was also able to put Bailey as ease.

Fantastic experience: Companion Care vets are Brilliant I have a cat the has a dodgy stomach and now diabetes the Receptionists are fantastic. Plus Vera is a fantastic vet she got my little boy Gizmo glucose levels where they should be and he is doing really well considering he was not well at all when he was diagnosed with diabetes.

Fantastic experience: Vets Christian, Evelina and reception staff Sara, Megan and Lauren have all been very considerate and sensitive the last couple of months.Firstly dealing with the end of life care for our dog Fudge. And then recently with our other dog Barnsley who had a troublesome cyst on his rump. He has taken a real shine to Evelina. Thanks team.
We are very pleasured that Evelina was are able to support you and Barnsley recently. I can see that Christiane first met Fudge in 2016, and whilst we are always sadden by the loss of a pet, I am pleased that we were able to provide you and him with the care required until his final visit.

Our records show that our reception team spoke to you 11 August 2023, whilst you were waiting for your appointment. They explained that an emergency patient had just arrived who needed immediate urgent care, and unfortunately you would not be able to see the vet you were booked in with. We offered an alternative vet but could not provide an exact time you would be seen. You were unable to wait. You contacted us at a later date and we saw your pet on 21 August 2023.
Our team have extensive knowledge on not only the different species we see, but also different illnesses, treatments, diagnostic tests and medication, and we believe our prices are set to accurately reflect this.

Fantastic experience: Our 6month old Rescue Labrador Pup ran full pelt into barbed wire that had pulled across a footpath. Mustve been put there for fun, I guess by some ....idiot. He had a nasty cut on his face just under his eye and had scratches on his head. I called Companion Care in a bit of a panic tbh. No problem. I wad told to get him to them asap What wonderful care and within 1/2 hour we were out the door stapked and glued and with a cone of shame. Thank you one and all.

Negative experience: Never got an appointment and meeting the vets so cannot review that. But after realising how incompetent and rude reception staff are, I walked away and registered with another practice. Make sure you double check everything they tell you. I registered and paid for Health care plan as they advised. I had a coupon for discount from Pets ah Home, 1st staff member told me I can use it. Then 2nd staff member refused to accept it when I wanted to pay through direct debit insead of 1 payment, even though the coupon very clearly states it is accepted for either payment methods. To resolve, had to speak to 3rd staff member. All this troble, just to be told I don't have right to use the services within the first month although you prepay the first two months. 5/6 staff members came out to tell me that I am not allowed the services because of the Terms and Conditions, none of them had read them and had any idea where the information actually is. After waiting 3 days for them to read Terms andConditions and sent me where it states I cannot use the service, they still had no evidence, so they just cancelled my plan. Considering, the reception staff cannot even read, I'm glad my pet's wellbeing doesn't depend on this practice.

Our account of the situation differs significantly from the details above, and whilst I will not discuss the full interaction on an open forum, I can confirm that the Pets at Home VIP voucher was accepted and applied to your plan at the time of set up, all discussions held were in line with the Terms and Conditions of the plan and multiple options were provided to ensure you received the maximum benefits from the Complete Care Plan.
The reception team remained welcoming, friendly and informative throughout the communication. I am sorry you felt this was not the case.

Negative experience: 1st missed appointment in 12 years with you and you think charging £55 before I can make another appointment is ok, not even a warning (if it happens again). You will keep my money for five weeks because you can't book my cat in for four weeks, I don't think so. May I suggest you look a trustpilot reviews and se that you have 80+% of one stars and most of them think your in it for making money first and care for the animals 2nd. Can't help to think there all true now after my experience, but I don't think you care anyway. Goodby Companion care Portsmouth.
Thank you for taking the time to write your review. We are sorry that we have had bring this policy in. It has been adopted to try and reduce the amount of failure to arrive patients, and applies to all our clients. Unfortunately each appointment that is failed to be kept, means there is another pet who could have been seen sooner.
We have included notices on our website and provided the fail the arrive information on our appointment confirmation emails. We have also made social media posts relating to the number of failed appointments and the introduction of this policy.
I am sorry this has resulted in your decision to move practice, and I wish you and your pets the best of health for the future.

Fantastic experience: I took my 5 year old German Shepherd Sapphire & my 18 month old German Shepherd Astraea to the vets for anal glands & they were seen by the loveliest vet I have ever come across. She sorted them both out & she was so good with them both. She told me that she has a German Shepherd herself. Wonderful lady.

Fantastic experience: Our dog Millie was rushed in to the Portsmouth branch as an emergency first thing in the morning. The team could not have acted more quickly ensuring Millie was lifted from our care with extreme care. The reception team dropped everything to help us. Millie was taken through the surgery to be assessed whilst the reception team did there best reassure us. Within less than 25 minutes we were on on way to the specialist for surgery. Fantastic experience: Argyle was very well looked after at his neutering appointment. We were kept informed of what to expect and the staff were all very friendly and knowledgeable. He’s a bit woozy now but I’m sure he’ll be causing trouble in no time! UPDATE: You'll all be glad to know that Argyle recovered pretty well and is now causing trouble, as expected. We had a couple of minor issues with his healing but we were able to keep in touch with the vet and send them photos via Whatsapp to monitor his condition, which was really convenient and gave us peace of mind.

Fantastic experience: I’m an RSPCA volunteer and I took an injured bird there. They were friendly, helpful and professional.
Fantastic experience: We knew the time had come to say goodbye to our poorly cat. Nat the vet was so incredibly wonderful. He ensured we were informed of all possible options and presented them in a kind and compassionate way. The reception staff were also fantastic. My children didn’t want to be in the room when our cat passed so they looked after them, ensuring they had tissues and water. Knowing they were being cared for whilst we said goodbye to our cat gave us the time we needed with her. When our cat passed, Nat took a paw print and cradled her like a baby and I felt great comfort knowing she was being cared for after death just as well as in life. The vet team sent a condolences card a week later, all hand signed which was incredibly touching. I cannot thank them all enough. Their kindness has really helped the process of healing and our memories or our cats final moments were as peaceful and as dignified as we could have hoped for.

Fantastic experience: We are really happy to have found a great reptile vet close to us. We have 8 snakes, and one arrived with a respiratory infection. Antony has been great at dealing with this for us. The ladies on reception are really helpful. A great vets.
Negative experience: I have just received a very blunt wattsap message from them regarding some worm and flea treatment that I did not pick up on Wednesday as I was at work. I did not even no till the Monday it now has to be ordered in. Not a gentle reminder but this treatment will be removed from your account if not picked up within 48hrs,and will removed from your quarterly allocation!!!!! I could not believe this,very rude.
Fantastic experience: I always have the greatest respect for all at Companion Care over the past two years my cat household has gone fro seven cats to just two. They are so compassionate in very stressful times and even just an annual visit for check ups they are always caring.
