Fantastic experience: Everyone was truly caring, understanding and helpful to both pet and owners. Having to undergo a major operation to remove a tennis ball from his stomach, our dog; Big Stan couldn't have been in safer hands!

Fantastic experience: An amazing caring environment, your pets are your world and are your family. You protect your loved ones and you need to be able to trust someone to look after them, with these vets, I have pure and utter trust, I had a cocker spaniel called floki, who was ill from a pup with hip displcia, the vets were extremely loving and wanted the best for him, care and love came before cost, everything was done for him in a medical way, they managed his hip issues extremely well, unfortunately floki then had epilepsy and pancreatitis in his last year, so floki was at the vets most of the time, his reaction to the vets said everything, his couldn't get out of the car fast enough when arriving there, he always ran into the vets whilst on his lead, everyone knew him, they took time out to come from behind the desk and spent time with him. The day of his passing, he was loved by the vets, you could see this from all their team members and everyone knew his story and on going battle, he was happy, tail wagging but the decision needed to be made as he had the best life to this date however, his quality of life had taken a turn and he started give up the fight, he knew and I had to accept this. I now have a pup and I've gone back to these vets and I know their professionalism and their love and care to all the animals, if I moved away from Hampshire, I'd still come to this vets, already the team members know my pups name, spending time with him and still keep flokis name alive. There's never a wait for the appointments Nothing is ever to much, their care is always passed on to the human part of their patients.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been using the Per Vet a couple of years now and I cannot fault them. My boy Griffy just had TPLO surgery and they have all been fantastic. Griff loves coming to the vets he loves everyone there. Would recommend to anyone. They care about the pets massively and that’s a nice thing to see

Negative experience: Avoid at all costs. Lack of information provided, excessive costs, extremely unhelpful when trying to rectify an issue or if you have any questions. If only they cared about your pet the same amount as making money. Will not be coming back. Much better alternatives around!

Negative experience: Was recommended to sign up to a pet plan when looking at the £70 a month which it was costing me I did not think it was worth the money and thought it was a bit of a scam especially when most things was only 10% off and a lot I wouldn’t use so I cancelled it I was not told by the vets that I would get charged a get out fee of £314 which is outrageous. I asked if they could offer me a payment plan I was not getting quick responses and was left a week for responses and was charged another late fee with it being so close to Christmas is extremely stressful I was put to the debt collectors with another £90 fee luckily the debt collectors were extremely helpful and I wasn’t charge the extra £90 as they understood my circumstances. The vet are extremely unhelpful and don’t seem to care for their customers and only care for the money. My elderly cat after receiving the jabs seems to be unwell also I would avoid.

Positive experience: They are a really nice vets and are very careing after i lost my dog .

Negative experience: I have tried since may to join a pet plan .then I give all my details get the medication. But then it turns out thay have lost my details. I phone them 3 times I'm told thay will phone back.im still waiting I even go down and talk to someone .I'm told we will phone you and sort this out .I'm still waiting

Fantastic experience: Many thanks to everyone involved with our recent very positive encounter at the Pet Vet Southampton - my lively working Cocker spaniel Monty had to have a grass seed surgically removed from his paw. I think we saw a different member of staff each time we visited from first consultation through the operation day and follow up visits which could have felt impersonal/ disjointed but I have to say that each person was friendly, professional, informative and caring. On the admin side my insurance claim was handled quickly and all questions answered (I haven't had to make a claim before). Grateful thanks to you all from Monty & me. Sue E

Fantastic experience: Brilliant vets. Super service. They really care about our pets plus very clean. Our cat, Charlie has had hyperthyroidism for over 4 years. The pet vet Southampton has provided brilliant care ensuring Charlie has had the best treatment at all times. Charlie can be a bit wild at times but Richard is always very patient with him and we really appreciate his kindness and professionalism.Due to this Charlie is leading a happy, content life. Highly recommended

Fantastic experience: I phoned on Saturday to order flea and worm treatment for my dogs and on Sunday I had a text to say already to collect, when I collected on Monday just checked name and all sorted in less than 5 minutes, lovely friendly lady on the desk Thank you

Fantastic experience: I ask alot of questions and the staff were happy to help. Most important the guy who gave both my dogs vaccination was amazing with them and my older dog gets grumpy but was good.

Fantastic experience: Staff very polite and deal with questions quickly and efficiently. Vet very polite, introduce her/himself, listen to the problem and after examination gave the appropriate advice. The plan that the Vet's do where you pay an amount each month based on pet's weight is good value and offer's a range of treatments.

Positive experience: The team have been looking after my dog Milo for the past year since his initial inoculations at 8 weeks old, the staff are brilliant with him especially one of the receptionist who always remembers Milo as he had a spell of fussy eating which he has now got over, but she always inquires after him. He was neutered 6 weeks ago and the after care service and check ups were great!

Positive experience: The practice itself nice, vets seem good and knowledgeable, would usually give 5 stars but their pet health plan is a bit of a con in my opinion. So your covered for flea and worm treatment for x amount a month, but to give it to you you have to see a vet once a year (not covered), so you need to factor in an extra £55 a year (which is fine if they tell you in advance... but they dont), which means my local vet would of been better value for money on their plan, however i couldn't know this as it isn't disclosed before taking the plan out that you HAVE to pay to see a vet on top once a year.. So hope this helps someone else.

Fantastic experience: The pet vet are amazing from staff at main decks right through to the vet's, I wouldn't take my pet anywhere else, sadly I had to have my maximus put to sleep back in July,which was heartbreaking for me and the girls at the front desk, they were all so caring and lovely to me, specially Amy,she went above and beyond for me and Max, totally amazing vet's.

Fantastic experience: I needed an urgent consultation for my dog on a Saturday, I was given an appointment and Honey was assessed and treated within a few hours. The vet clearly explained the problem, the treatment necessary and took time to ensure I understood the medication dosage etc., plus I had a free cup of coffee that helped to keep my stress down!

Fantastic experience: Sadly twice in a week I've had to do an emergency dash with my pets. Both times the care the animals have recieved have been second to none. Would highly recommend

Fantastic experience: I visited recently to collect a repeat prescription. I was pleased to see the place had been refurbished, clearly marking separate areas for dogs and cats. Additionally, there are no longer reception desks but I was greeted by somebody who was very quickly able to find my prescription and I was on my way in no time at all. The enhancements so far seem to be working.

Fantastic experience: Staff were very helpful and friendly. The only slight criticism is that since Covid they've switched to an appointment system. Whilst this isn't a problem for dogs, it's very difficult for cats as keeping them in until the time of the appointment is quite a challenge!

Fantastic experience: This is a truly amazing vets. I have been using this vet for 10 years. With my two bichons. Treacle (10) and Bobby (3) You are treated like family, and your pets always greeted by name . All the staff from the receptionists, the nurses and the vets are all equally highly professional, kind and caring. I would recommend this vets 100%

Fantastic experience: My Yorkie Russell cross had cut his front paw. He is very nervous at the vet and usually has to be muzzled. On this visit the lovely vet had a caring no nonsense approach and have me sensible advise on treatment. No muzzle required. Happy dog and less stressed mum.

Fantastic experience: Exceptional Emergency Care – Thank You! While travelling to the New Forest, our Frenchie suffered an unexpected injury. We were so grateful that The Pet Vet Southampton was able to take us in on a Sunday for an emergency visit. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly kind, professional, and reassuring. The clinic was clean, calm, and well-organised, and Franklin was very well looked after. They acted quickly and with real care, something that made all the difference in a stressful moment. Fantastic experience: Whilst not ideal we have had to visit The Pet Vet twice in the last three weeks and both experiences have been brilliant. From the warm welcome on arrival, clean waiting area through to the actual care it was as good as a visit to a vet could be. The consultation was on time with vet knowledgeable, informative and engaging. Great care and not ridiculously priced. Highly recommend The Pet Vet should you need care for your pet.

Fantastic experience: We have had such a great experience at the Pet Vet! The entire team is incredibly supportive, welcoming and helpful - from the front desk to the doctors. Our cat osho can be bit jumpy and aggressive, but the staff handles him with such calm and care. It’s amazing to see how relaxed he becomes in the exam room. Fantastic experience: We popped in to pick up our dogs worming and flea tablets and was immediately made to feel welcomed. I had a question and was given a well delivered answer.

Negative experience: Complete rip off. We have called today to get prescription for anti flea treatment. Our 3 cats got fleas, we used last treatment couple of weeks ago, poor things are living in lots of stress. We asked if we can avoid more stress with bringing our cats over, they suffered enough with wounds over neck, continous scratching, beeing bathed not long ago, and get prescription for stuff that we used in a past prescribed by same vet. Apparently all 3 cats have to be assessed on 3 separate appointments, with 3 different prescription. It's not vet clinic caring for animal wellbeing it's money making machine.

Fantastic experience: My cat had a sore jaw. After an XRay he had 2 teeth extracted. The vet kept me updated about his progress several times during the day. Very compassionate people. Would highly recommend taking your valued and loved pet there.

Fantastic experience: I joined The Pet Vet Southampton, in December 2024. The staff were very welcoming and helpful when I first arrived. I am in a wheelchair and I was struggling to get through the door. A staff member saw me and immediately came to help me. I have two cats they are treated with care and respect, and the nurses treated them as if they were their own pets. Thank you for being so kind and helpful.

Fantastic experience: Benji went there today for he’s injection and we saw a nurse called Rebecca who was amazing , she showed such dedication to her job and explained everything to do with his tablets . I say if you’re like me and want the best for your pets bring your pet here . I wouldn’t go anywhere else

Positive experience: I have always had excellent service from. the Pet Vet, they have always treated my cats (and me) well. The prices have inflated massively in recent years, so the downside is that they are no longer cheaper than anywhere else.

Negative experience: This week I took my dog to our regular Vet Practice in Southampton which now has new owners. Walking through the door i wasn't sure if I was at a Creche or in Church, definitely not a Vet Practice! A sizeable enclosed children's play area (why so big?!) has been constructed right at the front of the waiting area, taking up valued space required for sick animals, especially as some dogs/cats at Vets get agitated when in close proximity to other pets! As for reception desk, Where is it? It's been replaced by a pulpit! It looks like someone is about to preach a sermon. Staff don't sit and greet you behind a purposeful desk which is calming but now have to stand on ceremony when you enter which feels confrontational & not helpful when trying to calm animals. Definitely, in my opinion, a total waste of money, not thought out and very impractical. I can say, the reception team, staff and Vets are very helpful & professional and remain so under this bizarre 'refurbishment'.

Fantastic experience: I cannot recommend The Pet Vet enough. From the moment I called to book an appointment, to both visits with my dog, we have been well looked after and very happy with everything . Our Vet, Alexandra , is extremely caring, very thorough and an absolute hero when you need a vet the most. Honestly, we cannot thank her enough. She is an absolute superstar and even our very nervous dog had his tail wagging whilst with her. We have used a well known chain of vets over the years and it’s been fine but The Pet Vet has been absolutely amazing and fairly priced so we will never go back now. Choosing a vets is really tricky , trying to balance somewhere that you trust will look after your loved little fur friends as well as a balance of not being charged extortionate prices just for the sake of it makes it a nightmare. However, I would not hesitate at all to recommend Pet Vet Southampton to anyone and everyone. Thank you so much Alexandra and the Pet Vet , you are doing an amazing job.

Negative experience: Dog ( small dog) needed a check up for his teeth. Not seen by a vet advised that for descaling and possible one tooth extraction from £500- £750 . The consultation was £62 approx 2 minutes and had to wait while quotation was completed after it was discussed with vet for 30 minutes. We have used the Vet for years but will be looking elsewhere and would advise people to check prices. It’s a shame as we have always had good efficient and cost effective healthcare up until now.

Fantastic experience: This was the first time I had used Pet Vet everyone was so kind l had bought my cat Smudgie in who was. very poorly Carla explained everything very clearly. I took him home with me and he passed away very peacefully

Fantastic experience: Despite the other reviews, I have never had a problem here. The staff are incredibly kind and helpful, the vets we have met have always offered great care, and the prices are quite affordable (for a vet). Thank you for all the amazing work you do.

Negative experience: The vet Southampton, This appears to be a training practice, so fine if you just want a vaxination. Its not a 5 star service as advertised. The back end processes lack any organisation. For example paying for a prescription and then buying the meds elsewhere required numerous phone calls and chasing for the Vets to send the prescription to the supplier. E mails were not answered in their 3 day turnaround for requests for e receipts and required chasing by phone. Numerous calls to chase insurance paperwork sent to the Vets insurance hub in the midlands. Great service for the insurance hub which confirmed the insurance paperwork hadnt been sent from the vet in southampton despite the records saying it had been sent. Following on from a consultation no treatment plan was forthcoming despite being promised. At that point we have had enough. We decided on a referral , it turns out some past medical history has been "lost" so the referral vet didn't have a picture over time. The terms and conditions on the website do not benefit the customer when their is a problem. Would recommend you get a second opinion for anything but basic treatment.

Fantastic experience: My dog has a phobia of the clinic and gets distressed and anxious on every visit. When she had her booster vaccinations the Vet suggested we administer them whilst she was sitting relaxed in the car. She thought outside the box and cared about my dog. We have been customers since she was 10 weeks old and she's now 8!

Fantastic experience: Merk has recently had TPLO surgery for a ruptured cruciate ligament, and his treatment and ongoing care has been nothing short of excellent. All of the staff are professional, warm and friendly - from the moment we step through the door, we know we are in safe hands. Many thanks to Richard and the whole team for the care they have given, and continue to give, to Merk (and me - it’s been quite a stressful time!)

Fantastic experience: I have unfortunately been 3 times in the last few months. 1 visit was very hard as i had to let my cat go . I can honestly say that the kindness and empathy shown by everyone was amazing ,as it has been on every visit. The condolence card and pack of seeds i received later was very sweet . Fantastic experience: I recently took my dog for a routine vaccine appointment, and I couldn't be more impressed with the level of care and attention we received. Despite it being a standard visit, the vet (Dimitrios) was incredibly thorough and took the time to ensure my dog was comfortable throughout the entire process. His extensive knowledge and expertise were evident as they answered all my questions and provided valuable advice on my dog's overall health. It was clear that he genuinely cares about his patients and their well-being. The reception staff were also very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this vet clinic to anyone looking for exceptional and compassionate veterinary care. We'll definitely be returning for all our future needs!

Fantastic experience: Very welcoming reception staff. Love that they have separate seating areas for cats/dogs, provide a drinks machine & calming spray etc. Very thoughtful! Also always spotlessly clean However: I’m really saddened to see the so-called ‘updated/refurbished’ reception/waiting area!! Much preferred the ‘old’ comfy benches and the welcoming reception area! Now, it seems, you have one, lone, receptionist who has to stand at (what looks like) a lecturn (pulpit?!) and different plexiglass screened-off areas that just make it look messy! Sorry, but “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” comes to mind

Fantastic experience: I alway bring my two chihuahua to the vets, they are always welcome and friendly. They really good at keeping my dogs calm and when ever I ask for advice they willing to give it to. My two dogs are on the puppy plan and the cost is really good. Fantastic experience: First time with the vet our experience was awesome the gentleman who looked after Nova (our beautiful tortoise shell cat) was so lovely she was just so in awe of him she was such a good girl he done such a good job he was so delicate with her and she was purring and licking away I would definitely recommend the vets to anyone looking for a cheap and friendly veterinary service.

Fantastic experience: We brought our puppy in who was only 12 weeks old, she was off sorts and scooting across the floor, the vets saw her very quickly and realised she had a blocked anal gland. She had it emptied and they gave us some paste to help with her stools. She is back to her amazing puppy zoomies and happy. The practice is amazing very friendly staff and clean. Would highly recommend

Negative experience: DO NOT GO TO THIS VET ‼️ Spent over 3000 at this vets in the last 2 months and 500 three days ago to get my puppies flea treatment and jabs done got told I had to wait three days to give them there medication due to them having there jabs so I waited and today was about to give them there flea treatment to find out one of the boxes was empty so called the vets for them to put me on hold till she finished played music on the phone to me for 30 minutes then told me I was lying because two vets checked the boxes to make sure it had the treatment i then told her I have no reason to lie your workers clearly didn’t check properly , it would cost me nearly double in Uber fees to even get there and back then the treatment is so wouldn’t make any sense for me to lie because I have no need to , so they missed my treatment and demanded I paid for another one I then told them why have I got to pay for another one when I’ve already paid and you have missed one then got told I was raising my voice , if you got left on hold for half a hour and got told you have to pay after they missed something sure anyone would be annoyed then asked for the peoples names that checked them so I can add them in this review and got the phone put down on me and went to call back and have been forwarded onto another place because they have close she waited for her place to close for her to put the phone down so I couldn’t call her back vets a bunch of scammers do not use they will scam you out of a couple quid after spending thousands there could only imagine how many other people they do this to if I had the girls name on the phone to she would be in this review and I would say she needs to find a new job so rude and not professional at all had no bad encounters before this but this had fully put me of this vets now WILL NEVER GO TO THIS VETS AGAIN THERE SCAMMERS ‼️‼️

Fantastic experience: My two Cavaliers attended for their annual vaccinations this morning. Staff were welcoming and professional as always. The Vet gave them both a full check up and discussed my concerns about their health, what I need to look out for and the future options available. The notes on the screen were clearly detailed as the vet read their health histories. The knowledge shared was research based & applicable to my dogs. There were informative suggestions & no hard sell. The surgery provided a 'pet remedy' to spray on a supplied mat which helped to calm my excitable dogs. One of them actually lay down resting on it whilst the other was being checked over! As expected, we received thorough profession care today in a pet friendly environment. This is why this I have chosen this practice to care for my dogs throughout their lives. I continue to recommend them highly.

Fantastic experience: I had my beloved Poppy whippet put to rest three weeks ago. I was shown to a private room and the veterinary nurse was very compassionate. I left through another door bypassing the reception. I have just received a card of condolences from the team, which I have found very touching, as I have never received such a warm gesture of condolences from other veterinary practices. Fantastic experience: Best vet practice ever and their pet plan is such good value for money. Free coffee and anxiety blankets whilst you wait is a lovely touch.

Negative experience: ABSOLUTE DISGRACE OF A VET DO NOT USE THIS VET our pet was misdiagnosed then we were charged astronomical amounts for scans and medication. Their head office blatantly lied to us which was proven and they still did nothing. The lead vet admitted all the mistakes that were made but they refused to remove any charges. The practice manager Julie was supposed to call us 3 times and never did first nor last and to this day we have not heard from her. When I refused to pay until the issue was resolved their head office became aggressive and threatened debt collectors. This was after they refused to treat our pet meaning we could not get any medication, which at 1 point they said was crucial to the pets health even though they showed no duty of care towards our animal which legally they cannot do. If zero stars were an option that would be the rating. From start to finish we were lied to, charged fees that were completely irrelevant to the situation and I was the one always trying to resolve the situation. The receptionist lost all our files conveniently!. I had to go to the RCVS governing body to get it resolved which has taken a year. I urge you to steer clear of them with your pets. No doubt they will respond to this with more lies and fabricated stories. I CANNOT STRESS ENOUGH HOW BAD AND UNPROFESSIONAL THEY ARE

Negative experience: Have been great in the past, but now almost impossible to contact them without walking through the door. Hanging on the phone for ages - no reply, even though no. 1 in the queue; can’t get through on the online portal, because I’ve forgotten the password m, and it’s not sending me a reset password. Emailed in the past (preference of the clinic) for pet wormers, and waited ages before anyone contacted me.

Fantastic experience: Recently took my boy's in for their annual vaccinations. Unfortunately due to illness I was unable to attend however they were more than accommodating and were more than happy for my mum to bring them in for me. They're always quick thorough and reassuring. Particularly as both my boy's hate going, they handle them with great care and dignity and don't force anything on them which is fantastic is this stressful time for my cats. They gave my mum some advice to pass on with the measurements of food that would help them loose some weight. Unfortunately due to a previous condition one of my fur baby's has to have prescription food which has made him gain some weight. But once again thanks to this amazing clinic we've been given some amazing advice to help. Been a customer with you for 6 years now and won't go anywhere else!!

Fantastic experience: My 10 year old dog was well Looked after , after his surgery . Everything was explained in detail and any questions I asked were answered , very happy with the service provided and my dog is recovering well .

Fantastic experience: I have to take my Diesel once a month now due to him having an injection. They always care about him and give him loads of attention. This has made him not scared when we now walk in. Please do not get rid of the reception desk though as it will not be the same without this.

Fantastic experience: Lucy has recently had a treatment on her teeth And I can honestly say how well she was treated ❤️and the girls on front desk are so welcoming I truly thank you all lots of luv from Lucy my beautiful cocker spaniel and me ❤️x

Positive experience: Have recently had issues with "missing medication". Being told it's ready to collect but when I get there it's not and still waiting for it to arrive. Going back multiple times is not ideal. But, we went in for a routine appointment last Sunday, which turned into an emergency one. All staff were absolutely amazing. Gave my cat the care he needed. Would highly recommend

Positive experience: Got an appointment quickly and on the day I wanted. All the staff there are very caring and although my young cat is very scared of people the vet was very good with him.

Fantastic experience: Highly impressed with the customer care and support given at front desk by Callie. I have a very reactive Rottie/Mastiff and each time we visit the whole situation is handled perfectly, professionally and completely seamlessly. Visiting the vets before at other practices was a highly stressful experience, now I don't have to worry, alongside this any questions asked are dealt with immediately. The whole team are fantastic.The care plan at the practice is worth it too
