I wish they'd been a bit more honest about the prognosis, there was no improvement and we ended up having him put to sleep 2 days later, after spending £2000. Would have been kinder to do it when we took him in.

Fantastic experience: The vets here were very quick to help us when we had to bring our poor Tino in on a Sunday when our usual vet was closed. Unfortunately he had had a stroke and had to be put to sleep, which was handled very compassionately. When we went to collect his ashes they'd gone above and beyond with a handwritten note and a beautiful little custom card with his paw print in, so I just wanted to say thank you for being so kind.

Negative experience: Emergency Means Immediate, Not a 4-Hour Wait Brought my pet in for a critical emergency, only to wait for hours in the lobby while they were clearly in distress. The so-called "emergency" service was agonizingly slow. After the interminable wait, the care felt rushed and impersonal. To add insult to injury, the bill was astronomical for the minimal, delayed treatment received. They profit off of panic and provide substandard care in return. Avoid if you truly love your pet

Positive experience: The vet was excellent; very thorough. Notes were at my vets promptly. I was told to attend immediately and then had to wait a while, yet people already there had been there a while. Fee and quote for treatment outrageous and did not appreciate being asked if i had insurance before diagnosis as implied that affected price. Did the needy to make cat comfortable and went to vets first thing next day. No choice for vet night cover that is unfortunate.

Fantastic experience: Tabby had a urinary blockage (out of normal vet hours of course...) VetsNow at Beech House was able to see him within half an hour to insert a catheter and give him some medication. Obviously this was quite expensive, but it was an urgent situation which had to be dealt with quickly. Thank you Anca and your student helper for treating Tabby so promptly.

Fantastic experience: Amazing the lady vet I had today for my dog was incredible you pay a bit more but what a amazing service to have when you need a vet on weekends or nightimes rang at half 9 was in by 10 never made my dog wait or suffer made me feel so not alone with my rottweiler and the end of the road cant thank them enough

Fantastic experience: I called the Vets Now line in the evening and was promptly booked in to visit the Southampton clinic. Staff were friendly and my dog was seen quickly. I was told I could call back during the night if the issue continued, and take her in again if necessary. The attendance was notified to my usual vet who also called me the next morning, and my insurance claim was administered quickly by the out of hours clinic. If it was closer, I’d consider registering with Beech House as my vet. Thank you to the Team

Fantastic experience: They were superb, seeing our sick cat immediately and giving him lifesaving care. Every member of staff we met or spoke to were fantastic and gave the best care. This is the 2nd time vets now have helped save one of our cats lives. We can't thank them enough.

Fantastic experience: Took our elderly cat here as an emergency last Saturday. They gave me the diagnosis and prognosis quickly and with the utmost care and respect. Sadly we had to put her to sleep but the way the vet explained it all, allowed time for me to say goodbye and finally gave her peace was so respectful and dignified. A few days later we received a package with a condolence card and some lovely keepsakes of her which was lovely and very grateful for. The whole experience, though sad, was amazing and we cannot thank them enough for the kindness shown during the difficult decision and following days.

Negative experience: Having just accompanied a very close, distressed friend to collect the ashes of her beloved family dog who, was lost at a very young age in an awful accident, to say I'm absolutely gobsmacked with the attitude of the reception team is an understatement. My dear friend was just handed a bag, no "sorry for your loss" or "sympathies to you" ..... My friend then asked if the much needed paw print was with the ashes, she was met with "ah, I'm not going up there again, I'll send them to you". I know you are very busy but, come on, a little empathy at the right time should surely be extended to those who have lost much loved fur babies!!

Fantastic experience: I took my dog to Vets Now Southampton in the early hours of the morning. They said to come down straight away. The staff were friendly and professional. My dog was seen straight away and quickly diagnosed. They were also helpful with insurance claim information. Can't fault this service. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: No words can actually describe how amazing this place was. We took our cat on a Sunday for an emergency procedure. He was seen and operated on within a couple of hours, well looked after over night and discharged to his day vets the next morning for after care. Would highly recommend. Thank you vets now for saving our boys life.

Positive experience: Had great service from emergency vets on a Sunday afternoon, my only lost star is for the horrendous costs which I know is out of their control. Negative experience: The reception team didn’t even greet us in arrival and after paying a huge bill they didn’t even say thank you take care , compassion zero the vet himself was good but overall in a very upsetting time they lacked compassion empathy and it questions as to its purely just a job and not love for animals

Fantastic experience: Absolutely amazing service for an emergency appointment. These aren't my normal vets. We were seen quickly, and a thorough examination was done on my dog, including blood tests. Not once did I feel like we were being rushed, even though there were more people waiting. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

Fantastic experience: We believed our little dog might have swallowed some poison berries from a Portuguese Laurel tree. Although this was not confirmed, on calling our own vet on the "Out of Hours Line" we were recommended to attend a Veterinary surgery immediately to induce vomiting. Although the out of hours vet was several miles away, good directions enabled to attend rapidly. On arrival, we detailed what we thought had occurred and the Vet immediately became concerned and rapidly prepared and injected our dog, inducing vomiting. Once the vomiting was over, we waited a short while after to make sure there were no side effects and then we were allowed to go home. Upon leaving, the Vet stressed how dangerous that particular tree was and to carefully look out for any further symptoms of poisoning. Fortunately, our little dog seems to have made a full recovery with no other effects other that a little drowsiness from the effect of the injection. Fantastic service and thank you to everyone involved from the initial phone call through to treatment and recommended after care.

Fantastic experience: We needed to bring our little cat Sylvie in for an emergency appointment on Sunday and from start to finish, the service we received was outstanding. From the intital phone call for advice, to being greeted so warmly at the centre, the team were outstanding from start to finish. Sylvie was treated with such care and time was taken to examine her and form the best treatment plan. We are so grateful to the team for their kindness and care (especially on a Sunday evening!) and we are so grateful to them for looking after our little girl. Thank you all.

Fantastic experience: i rushed my kitten into them very very poorly floppy and lethargic and having seizures they took him from me and set to work , pleased to say (spot) is a lot better than he was on arrival not out of the woods but better and gaining weight thankyou ladies you were all amazing

Negative experience: Avoid. This isn't even worthy of one star but I can't proceed unless I complete that bit. I rang after 12 midnight last night when my cat started having a seizure. I was told to bring her in for a consultation when I'd already said she had cancer. I asked to bring her in to be met with I'll take you through the costs. The costs were extremely high, I appreciate they are out of hours, but even so, completely unaffordable. I said I'll bring her in anyway but I was then asked how I could pay the fees. I said I would struggle to pay in full but at the minute its my cat's welfare that is far more important than lining your pockets. I was told to contact my family (it was after midnight), could I take out a loan, (it was after midnight) and finally could I use Klarna!, important minutes were lost. I was already stressed trying to keep my cat calm and this lack of compassion really didn't help. My cat passed away in my arms at 1am this morning and I'm glad I didn't take her to a place who ultimately give me the sense that money is far more important than my cat's welfare. Please avoid, they made a situation more distressing than it was already.

Fantastic experience: Excellent service and no long wait in our case. Lovely vet and our dog's eye problem was diagnosed quickly. The eye-watering cost was a shock, thank goodness for insurance.

Fantastic experience: Excellent couldn’t recommend enough! Went to beech house/vets now in west end and I was constantly updated on my cats progress and reassured after he had been hit by a car and needed urgent care. They are all incredible at what they do! The lady on reception called Debby really made me feel at home and calmed me down when I was upset. Thanks for looking after my boy!

Fantastic experience: Every vet, every nurse has been exceptional. I'm sure without VetsNow we would have lost our Max. They were patient and methodical and so professional. We highly recommend VetsNow! They did everything they said they would, communication and service were amazing.

Negative experience: It wasn't a good experience for us. It seemed quite chaotic, we were told to ring the bell and wait outside but people were just walking in. It was very hot in there and nowhere to get a drink of water for us, also no toilets, we were told there's a pub across the road that doesn't mind if you use their facilities. Also the fees are astronomical, 2 paracetamol were almost £25! When you're in distress because your dog is poorly you need a calm reassuring atmosphere with staff as well as the place. I have to say the vet herself was gentle and kind. If there was a choice I would not use them again.

Fantastic experience: We had to take our dog to the out-of-hours clinic at Vets Now (Beech House Vets, West End), and from the moment we arrived, we were treated with warmth and care. The admin staff were incredibly kind and welcoming, which really helped ease our stress in an anxious moment. The attending vet, Paul, was excellent — calm, reassuring, and professional. He took the time to explain everything clearly and helped keep us at ease throughout the visit. We’re so grateful for the compassionate care our dog received.

Fantastic experience: Lost two rabbits in one weekend, which was absolutely gutting. Debbie, at your Bitterne (southampton) branch was a complete asset to you. Loving, caring and so helpful with information that otherwise just gets rushed through in most instances. Couldn’t thank her enough for giving advise and being so caring at this difficult time. Negative experience: Unfortunately we didn't have a good experience. The vet wasn't accustomed to dealing with exotic animals (rats are classed as exotic) and Unfortunately the advice and medication given, didn't help and our rat suffered longer than she should have. The vet should have seen the head tilt and the way she was sat, that she had neurological issues and was in pain, we took her to our vets the next day and she was put to sleep.

Negative experience: Took my dog in as difficult breathing and unsteady with her legs,was charged 403.00 and sent home she had an anti sick injection ( which she didn't even need)and paracetamol,apparently dog has pain in her back,breathing was still the same today,went to another vet,and she picked up on an infection,on the chest,as soon as her stethoscope checked her breathing( something a student could have even found) this lot said she was fine,my dog was in distress for 24 hours than she needed to be, All about the money here am afraid,never use them again,wouldn't mind but over half of my disability benefit spent on virtually nothing,due to the above,

Fantastic experience: The staff were so caring and it was good to have that out of hours service close to home. They told us everything and what we needed to do for when we got our boy home.

Positive experience: We visited this vet clinic just under a month ago with my 8-month-old kitten. On our first visit, the vet we saw was nice, but I didn’t feel she checked my kitten thoroughly. Despite explaining all of his symptoms, she only gave him an anti-sickness injection and sent him home. The next night, we returned and were seen by a different vet—a lovely lady from Romania, I believe. She was incredibly helpful, did a proper examination, and took my concerns seriously. Thanks to her thorough care, they kept my kitten overnight and did all the necessary treatments. Because of her, our baby kitten is still here with us today! I just want to say a huge thank you to her for all her help and advice. I truly appreciate the care she provided. Would definitely recommend this clinic, especially if you get a vet as kind and thorough as she was!

Positive experience: Our dog was being sick n very wobbly on her feet in early morning. We rang, took her straight up and got a swift and accurate diagnosis. Thanks

Negative experience: Following my experience last month, I would not recommend VetsNow Southampton, and I would seek out Seadown in Hythe instead. My cat suffered a catastrophic eye injury out of hours, which I phoned ahead about, and was left in pain waiting in the waiting area for 30 minutes. Another cat with a "small bite to his paw" was seen first. This set the tone for the treatment. They didn't even wipe the blood off my cat's nose. The eye could not be saved ultimately, and due to my cat's age (17) and other health issues, unfortunately the decision had to be made to say goodbye to him. There was a distinct lack of compassion, and had I not waited with him once he'd been put to sleep until someone returned, he would've been left in a room on a tabletop on his own for almost an hour. The vet then came back in, surprised to see I was still there with my cat. (She'd dropped his head on the table too when he'd just been put to sleep). The whole experience cost me nearly £600, and the service was nowhere near up to scratch. I registered a complaint with VetsNow to give them time to respond before I posted this publicly. Unfortunately, yet not unsurprisingly, their belief was that the service had been good enough. My friend had a significantly better experience with Seadown Vets in Hythe, so if you're in central or western Southampton, I would recommend you go there.

Negative experience: I had to put a most beloved cat down, and while the vet did a good job I am now being harassed by their billing department over a payment they lost. It is on my bank statement and the money is gone, but because their company's IT or financial departments lost it (I made the mistake of paying them online when prompted) I am now being harassed. This is beyond unprofessional and is totally disgusting. They even called on Christmas Eve about this stuff, and I've spent the entire holiday season unable to stop thinking about Lotus being gone because the Vets Now billing department will not let me. Even on the day I tried (and got close to succeeding) to kill myself. I will pay the remaining balance of the bill in person, because I dare not try to pay the cremation bill online for them to lose, but I will not entertain further harassment from these people.

Fantastic experience: Had to make an emergency visit with my dachshund in the early hours of the morning. Received excellent service, offered an immediate appointment and treatment which has resolved his illness. Would not hesitate to use them again in an emergency. Was also given options and support to make a claim through his insurance. Thank you for saving my baby boy and making him happy and healthy again.

Positive experience: We were thankful to the vet for seeing us out of hours. Our son's dog had swallowed a single grape less than an hour before. We were advised to bring the dog in asap and the freezer would be around £300.. The process involved an injection to induce vomiting and in under 20 minutes she was back with us in reception but still being sick. We were charged just under £600. I understand the medication costs but over £300 for the vet for 20 mins is just out of order. Rescue homes are full and this is one of the causes. Prices shouldn't be hiked up because a person has insurance.

Fantastic experience: Lovely team and the vet who saw my dog was really thorough and made us feel like a priority despite having lots of animals in need of care and assistance over night. Took the time to properly explain the blood results instead of just saying all came back “ok” as vets typically do. Really positive experience and felt confident leaving there that my dog was going to be okay again! Can’t fault them.

Fantastic experience: At a very difficult time, Vets Now staff, from the wonderful Debbie on reception, to the nurses and vet who were hands on with Alfie were amazing. They were so caring and kind, also to us. I would highly recommend them as a source of help in an emergency and am extremely thankful Alfie was in their care ❤

Fantastic experience: Amazing service - Adrian's quick, skilled and thoroughly professional response and the subsequent care given by the team at Vets Now and the vet hospital to which they recommended my little dog was transferred have undoubtedly saved her life. Not cheap but you get what you pay for. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: Our cat had to be hospitalised over the weekend due to a bladder issue. Vets Now were amazing. We were called 3/4times daily to be kept updated with his progress. We were asked for consent before any procedure was performed. Everything was explained. When we picked him up, follow on care was explained in detail. There was a feeling of genuine care throughout.

Fantastic experience: I unfortunately had to use them for an emergency appointment. Never going to be cheap, but I did appreciate the kindness and the knowledge of the vet and receptionist. Noone wants to work on a Saturday but they assisted quickly and kindly. My dog is now on the mend so I'm grateful for their service.

Positive experience: The vet who looked after my boy before euthanasia. Was absolutely amazing. She was so helpful and gentle with him I would have given 5 stars if it was for the rude and uncaring attitude of the receptionist. (Won’t name and shame her) How she had a job I have no idea. You would think she could show more compassion towards the owner. Knowing I was going to lose my boy was bad enough, Her words hurt me. If it wasn’t for the fact I needed the emergency care I would have left.

Positive experience: Happy with the service provided. They took care of my poorly cat overnight and were up front with the cost from the off. Only snag is I didn’t get my blanket back when I picked him up or the additional medication that I paid for.

The referral from our regular Vet to Vets Now resulted in an early morning .appointment on Sunday. The Vet Stuart, and his lady assistant were absolutely excellent in handling a not too easy Hannah, and she responded very well. Thank you Vets Now!

Fantastic experience: Extremely helpful staff and understandable of my pets situation. But honestly, well done to the team who were on saturday afternoon, i was there after several emergency situations happened. As someone who works in a hospital setting and knows how quickly you need to respond to unresponsive pts, the staff there were quick to respond to incoming situations even if it left me waiting longer than expected. Had many apologising for the wait and needing to respond. Please, if anything, Dont ever apologise for going to save a life.

Negative experience: Let's go to my experience with you, I can say it wasn't the best. I took my dog on 06/28 around 8:30 p.m. for an emergency. She arrived screaming with pain in her abdomen. After a short wait for the service, a plan was made in which the veterinarian included the x-ray to verify part of the problem and always talking about costs. However, I made it very clear that any value would be indispensable for the dog to be well. However, when I went to pick her up the next day I was told that the x-ray was not done. That I was supposed to go to my veterinarian immediately because the medicine that was given to him would only last a few more hours. Arriving at the vet where my dog took, the x-ray was done and the problem was checked. Now the question that it was worth the cost of almost £1000 cost if my dog suffered from abdominal pain. So much a simple x-ray might have avoided her suffering.

Fantastic experience: The nurses was lovely my daughter’s little dog had to stay in over night after an operation. I do think that they charge too much though if you didn’t have insurance you would struggle to pay it. Xx

Fantastic experience: Had to take my dog to the emergency vets Sunday.The staff were very friendly and understanding my dog is quite reactive to other dogs and the waiting room was getting quite busy after he was assessed I explained to the nurse about him and she said I could wait for the vet in an assessment room so as to not stress him out.All the staff were fantastic I would certainly recommend them on the way we were treated.

Negative experience: Treatment was great, expensive but great. However, they messed up my insurance by sending my vets the details of a different dog and never rectified it. Only found out because I chased the insurance and our normal vets stated they had the notes from a different dog with a completely different condition. Meaning our insurance had now taken over a month to be sorted with our specialists. Very unorganised and dissatisfied.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic practice. We visited for emergency out-of-hours and our dog was treated by a wonderful vet who put us completely at ease. She explained the condition and treatment in easy to understand terms and we left feeling much happier. Would definitely recommend this Vet practice to anyone.

Negative experience: Nearest open out of hour vets was an hour drive. Dog had swollen face after wasp sting. Vet stated she had good vitals, then asked if we had insurance and proceeded to suggest 2 options: she stays overnight on a drip, has steroids and antihistamines (although cost wasn’t discussed this would unlikely be less than £1000). Option 2, give her steroids and antihistamines and monitor her at home. We elected for a 3rd option that wasn’t offered. Just antihistamines because she was a 6 month old dog and steroids were considered unnecessary as her breathing was fine and we know the issues of steroids with are previous dog. Last point, it was midnight, our 11 year old autistic daughter was with us and the staff wouldn’t let her use the toilet at the vet. Overall, I felt they tried to take advantage of us and would have done so if we weren’t firm with them. To not let a child use the toilet, especially considering the time is quite frankly unacceptable. A very disappointing service from this vet team. If you need out of hour care do so with caution, I didn’t trust their advice as it felt financially motivated.

Fantastic experience: Had to visit in an emergency the staff were amazing. Welcoming, friendly and very caring. Offered very good advice and also in regards to the follow up treatment with our own vet. Medication provided with clear instructions and what to do for the next 5 days. Very much put our mind at rest in a worrying situation. Also we had a video call with a vet beforehand whom was also extremely helpful as to how we made an informed decision whether to go forward with the emergency appointment. Thank you caring for our very poorly (at the time) dog.

Fantastic experience: We brung our cat in for an emergency appointment, Callie and Aileen both were amazing with our cat. Our vet Aileen was very thorough with our cat, talking through everything with us, giving us advice on what to do next, me and my partner where very satisfied with the level of care which Aileen gave to our cat. On our way out we had Callie who our cat loved.

Positive experience: 5 star for treatment of my dog with suspected pyometra. 1 star for responding to Petplan, and sending a debt recovery form to me. I received the text, submitted the claim form to Petplan. Petplan received and sent the request for further information to Vets Now but have not yet received a reply. Dog saw her ows vet the next day for follow up, Pet Plan settled that vet bill 2 days later.

Fantastic experience: I can’t thank the staff here enough for everything they did for my rabbit, Cocobean. They were so quick to assist her from the moment we walked through the door. Information was relayed clearly, all questions answered and the treatment she was given saved her life. The vets were so friendly and involved in her and it showed how much they truly care about the animals in their care. I am so grateful to everyone that assisted us and cared for Coco whilst she was there.

Fantastic experience: Our pet was unfortunately knocked over and passed away on a weekend and was taken to vets now, southampton. We were called and informed of what had happened by a wonderful, caring lady. Our darling boy was looked after wonderfully. I wqs so touched that we were given a condolence card, a pawprint they had taken from him and a little keyring and glass vial with some fur in. The staff are absolutely wonderful and we did not expect this treatment at all. They also talked us through what to do next and gave us options. Such caring and compassionate service, I wish we hadn't needed it but couldn't have asked for better!

Fantastic experience: We took our lovely and very much loved cat Lila in to the West End Rd practice on Monday 1st April as she was experiencing an emergency. Very sadly she couldn’t be saved but the vets on duty that evening were so incredibly kind to us giving us all the support we needed to make an incredibly hard decision to help our girl go to sleep peacefully. Thank you so much for all your kindness it was was so appreciated. I have just received a lovely card and package from the practice which was very moving and kind and I am very grateful to you all. Thank you.

Negative experience: Do not use!!!! Left my dog to die, was in there for one afternoon didn’t treat charged me 2500 I payed £500 on the day and the insurance covered the £2000 then with no correspondence or a phone call passed a debt collector a £1600 bill, the same treatment was priced at £500 by my current vet but was closed due to it being a weekend SCAM!!!!

Positive experience: Hello, I was relieved my dog Stanley was seen and I was given antibiotics and paracetamol for him. I paid the bill which was just under £360.00. Then I get a message stating that I still owed £49.00 which there was no explanation for this request. Why was I asked for money again when I already settled the bill and as far as I was concerned payed in full I was not advised I would be I voiced for more money later.

Fantastic experience: Excellent service. The vet I saw for my dogs illness was lovely and kind. Poppy had to stay overnight. On the next day we had a telephone conversation and the vet gave me some valuable information to help in her recovery. I was very pleased with my visit and thankful for all they did.

Negative experience: Adriana at Beech House provided our emergency consultation and is the best vet I’ve ever worked with, and an example of the kind of practitioner you want when you come in with a dying vet. She really did work with me to come up with the best plan for our situation. That was the only positive thing I can say about my experience. Otherwise, I think the prices of emergency vet care are diabolical and unmanageable if you’re not insured (which for reptiles you mostly aren’t). I could barely afford the consultation and couldn’t afford the euthanasia. It wasn’t the best option in our case anyway, but I feel for those who have no choice and have to pay out of their own pocket.
