Fantastic experience: When I got my dog I was super careful about which vets I wanted her to go to. A few friends recommended Christopher Carter Vets and in the nearly 2 years since I brought her home, they've been fantastic. They're always super happy to help, lovely with every pet that goes in, and I especially love the care that they have shown for my pup. I have never known a spaniel who was excited to go to the vets, but my little girl is always excited to see the team. I couldn't recommend them enough, if you need your pet looked after, this is where I would take them.

Fantastic experience: I have been registered with Christopher Carter's for the last 10 years and always had exemplary service. Today we had a wellness screen for 2 cats conducted by Morgan and Chloe. They were incredibly friendly, very kind with my two cats, and answered all questions well.

Negative experience: Listen to your instinct instead of trusting these vets. Do not let them fill you with false hope if you believe your pet is dying. Instead of listening to my concerns, my pet was dosed up with more medications which, as much as I wanted them to, were clearly not working. I told the vet I thought my pet was dying and I was told to have faith that the meds will work and to stay hopeful. I wanted honesty but I was met with deceit. I wanted my pet to be comfortable but the vet was reluctant to do anything but increase doses and add more meds which I know now was not the right thing for my baby and was only making the business money. This experience has left me unable to trust this veterinary practice. I would not recommend this service to anyone

Despite being under extreme pressures today (due to unforeseen staff shortages), they were so wonderfully kind to me and my "fur baby" (Cat)............... I booked an appointment online for today at 1715, and they called me at 0830 same day to ask me to bring my fur baby in for 0900,their skilled professional recognised the urgency... Despite being incredibly busy, they took the time with me and my fur babysnd and showed consistent compassion ❤️ Thank you so very much to you all

Fantastic experience: We have used Christopher Carter vets for many years with 4 different cats. Always found them to be helpful and kind, our two boys pumpkin and pickle are safe in their hands and we are glad we have them as our vets, without any hesitation I would recommend this practice and so pleased they continue to operate as Chris and sue would want.

Positive experience: The vets are good but since this practice has been took over it has slowly gone down hill ...... Only intreasted in the bottom line ... Left hand does not know what the right hand is doing .... I have only given 3 stars because the vets do try and outer good but the rest is very poor ....did not know I was coming for prescription??? But they emailed me 3 days before to say it was ready ???

Negative experience: We made an appointment with the vet to get a biopsy done on my dog. Whilst the staff were lovely and professional, we were given an estimate at the beginning of the appointment, I was not informed the estimate was for merely sedating and inspecting the dog's mouth, and when I phoned to pay the bill the next day it had doubled in price, I was told the extra price was for the actual biopsy, lab testing, and medicine. I am severely disappointed by this failure in communication and will be looking to other vets for future treatment.

Fantastic experience: Christopher Carter vets have served our various dogs for 37 years and have maintained an extensive level of care, professionalism, service and empathy in all that time. The canine care plan is a great asset too.

Fantastic experience: We registered and were seen on the day, our poorly cat Mindy. We met Hillery, who went through everything with us. I.e what could be wrong. However after a couple of visits before Christmas, sadly Mindy grew her wings. The love and care from the reception team through to Hillery was second to none. We are very grateful for all the advice and help you gave us. Even when picking her ashes up last week, we felt the love. Sometimes there are some hard distions to be made, but to have a good group of people there helped so much. Anyone considering Christopher carter's as vets, go, they are fantastic. Thank you.

My 14+dog was at end of life and both her and I were treated with the greatest of kindness and respect. At the end my 3 adult children all wanted to be there, so we went on mass with my 2 remaining dogs and all the staff were very kind and accommodating.

Negative experience: Just had my one year old French Bulldog neutered today ,we were told to come up yesterday to collect the anti sickness pills he would need before his op.today .we were told that the bill would be £390 .we pick him up at 4pm today 2902and the bill was £520 because apparently he needed special anesthetic not sure about that when it says under 25kg dog neutered will average £290 on there website will be rising in the morning for an explanation

Negative experience: After being clients at this practice since the 80’s we have had to make the decision to change vets. We attended an appointment on Monday for our dog that had on and off lameness. We were prescribed some painkillers for her whilst we waited for an X-ray the following morning. At no point from when entering the practice to leaving was I asked to give an up to date weight, nor did they check her weight. The next morning she was weighed as having a general anaesthetic, to our surprise she had lost 2kg, with the nurse weighing her commenting it was a lot to lose. On picking her up I asked when the last weight was taken as we were concerned about how much weight she had lost. We were told the 14 of September 2023. This meant that the medication prescribed the day before had been done to a weight nearly a year out of date and the incorrect dose was prescribed. On finding this information out we called the practice manager as she had asked and were giving a range of excuses that included the decorating men and even the dog herself. We were told that the dosage given one time would not hurt the dog and would not cause her to have any adverse reaction. When my dog was brought down I was told she had not been clipped, as is on her file unless it is a medical emergency. However when we got home I realised in fact they have shaved he side of her neck. Within 24 hours it is has appeared that she has a shaving burn (I have enclosed a photo below). We have put in a formal complain to the practice. I have to say that since the takeover of this vets we have found that the service has gone downhill.

Fantastic experience: Ellie is the best vet we have had since dear Chris. She goes the extra mile to make sure our Jack Russell Jake is ok. She is clear with all she says and is an asset to the surgery.

A group of amazing people who are always cheerful and patient whether they are free or run off their feet with work. Fantastic experience: We unfortunately found a deceased cat outside our house so took it to carter's and they handling it brilliantly! We've taken passed animals to carter's for treatment which was always fantastic!

Fantastic experience: Fantastic Vets, my dog received a thorough examination even though her symptoms had cleared in the few hours before we visited the vet. The vet explained what may have been the problem and put my mind at ease. He also was happy to issue additional pain relief medication following the recent reconstructive surgery my dog had been through. I can’t recommend this Veterinary Clinic highly enough. One of the best experiences I’ve had with our dogs in nearly 30 years. I’m pleased to say that my dog seemed to be at ease while we were there. Most unlike consultations with previous vets. I’m not surprised that they have a waiting list……..

Negative experience: Took my dog for his 6 weekly injection administered by a nurse in the reception area. My appointment was for 2.30pm and at 3.15 the nurse can with during in hand to apologise that I had been kept waiting but she was unable to gain access to a consulting room. This needs sorting out. There is absolutely no point booking an appointment with a nurse, as I was advised to, if they do not have access to an appropriate clinical space.

I was local to the surgery, but seven years ago moved out of the area, but still travel back for the excellent service.

Lost the lovely personal touch of Christopher Carter and the rest of the team. 3 stars is being generous based on recent experiences, which have been expensive and poor quality.

Fantastic experience: I have been taking Smudge to Carters for the past 12 year's and would recommend it to anyone. My cat loves it too, as soon as his cat basket comes out, he gets straight in. He knows he is going for a drive and is never frightened even though on one occasion he was really poorly and I thought I might lose him. The staff were great!

Positive experience: I would give 5 stars for the ladies that saw my best boy the way they looked after him was amazing, so kind and caring at an incredibly sad time. However the cost was extremely high £550 to put my boy to sleep and for me to have the ashes, this is the worst moment of a pet owners life and god forbid you can't afford to pay for it how devastating would that be with a financial crisis going on you have to find that sort of money.

Fantastic experience: I took my cat Tootsie to Christopher Carter Vets, when she had possibly ingested a poison. They were so reassuring, I was so worried and they looked after my cat so well, and I couldn’t wish for kinder vet and nurses , even though at the time they were dealing with other emergencies. Negative experience: My first visit was excellent with Jorden. Then everything has gone down hill had staff been rude appointments always running 30mins or more late even forgot we were waiting once. My old boy is 11 And been put under so many times in sort space of time which is no good for any animal let alone 11 years old feel like its all about the money not the care the animal need. Have spoke to management but even still today goimg for appointments was hard work was a 3:30 appointment and was not seen until 4pm so was late back to work. I was recommended by clients of mine but from my experience I would not recommend this vets the only good experienceI have had is with Jorden great guy and seems to really care. Do not get dogs nail clipper here £20.98 for one dog with a nurse takes 5 mins at the most rip off I am discussed. Steer clear of Sebastian I went in as emergency my dog colud not breath he was in oxygen tent. Sebastian tried to send me home with pills and to come back Monday. I spoke to management Annette who is amazing as I was not happy with taking him home he could not breathe with out being in oxygen tent he was lifeless. She agreed he couldn't go home I asked for him to go to out of hours vets. Good job I didn't listen to the so called vet my dog was dieing with heart failure after taking him straight to southan counties specialist where he was for 4 days thank god for them they saved his life. I made a complaint but nothing happened I was told it was mixed communication. This is not the case he should not be left alone to work with animals. U have also heard Christopher Carter has been taking over this would make sense for it going down hill.
