Vets for Pets - Leeds Colton

Negative experience: In the space of 1 month you have killed both of our rabbits 2 in the space of a month!! I understand there's risk to operations but when one was a standard everyday one and the other has it done every 5/6 weeks for the past year yet all of a sudden month after the first loss we lose another no you have KILLED them!!

Fantastic experience: The team here are amazing, they know my pooch well now and he's always eager to see them when we have a visit. It means a trip to the vets is less stressful as he's excited to see his pals and get some treats

Negative experience: have no complaints regarding staff other than a manger who thinks it’s appropriate to make digs at a persons financial situation and imply they aren’t a responsible pet owner when they’ve been misinformed and their pet has been given medication that I didn’t agree too after stating to the vet the medical choices I made for the animal weren’t just down to me, turning a £56 procedure into a £130+. He refused to believe the fact that his staff could have misinformed (which they did as I didn’t know it had been given to her until paying at the desk) I rang with a complaint and a solution for my current financial situation not for a lecture from a grown man. No one thinks they will end up having financial hardship as I didn’t when getting my puppy but unfortunately unexpected things happen which maybe he should consider before commenting on peoples financial situations as clearly he’s lucky enough to have not experienced anything like that due to the lack of understanding on his behalf, I completely understand I was highly frustrated and could have been more understanding he doesn’t make the rules but after reading reviews I’m clearly not the only one who has been previously been misinformed about pricing and procedures.

Fantastic experience: We had our beloved girl Teddy put to sleep on Monday 19th January. Vets for Pets were honest, sincere, caring (towards all of us) and treat Teddy with kindness and dignity in her when her time came. Everything was explained to us in great detail. We had time to spend with her privately. She was even given some chocolate which was just lovely. The lights were turned down. The vet and the nurses who cared for Teddy were superb. Everyone we have ever seen there are genuine, animal lovers who don’t want to rip you off but want to do what is best for the animal and for the human. Although it was heartbreaking - it was not traumatic. Yesterday, I rang the vets to see if it was too late for me to get a clipping if Teddy’s fur. Unbeknown to me, they had taken her fur and put it into little glass vials, took paw prints of her nose and paws and had them waiting for us with a sympathy card. I thought this act of kindness was beautiful. It made such a dark and horrible week better. I am so grateful to everyone there. All my family are. I would not go anywhere else. Thank you all so very much at Vets for Pets, Colton. ❤️

Fantastic experience: I am a regular client of Vets4pets at Colton as my dog has epilepsy. Recently, I lost 2 of my older cats within 24 hours. All the staff at this vets were amazingly kind and empathetic, with a special mention to Bridie. She has been so supportive and her kind words have comforted me over this heartbreaking period. Fantastic experience: Yesterday, our beloved GSD Luna suddenly became lethargic and had an accident in the house. Worried, we called Vets4Pets in Colton and were told they could see her right away. we were given devastating news: Luna needed emergency surgery, and there was a chance she might not survive. My husband and I have had Luna for eight years. essentially as long as we’ve been together. She is our whole world, and hearing that news felt like the ground had been pulled from beneath us. Despite it being 4pm on a Friday, the team didn’t hesitate. They assured us they would operate immediately and stay as long as it took. Their selflessness, determination, and genuine compassion were far beyond anything we expected. We waited in the car park for hours, and every single hour someone sent us an WhatsApp to update us, reassure us, and make sure we weren’t left in the dark. Their dedication carried us through one of the hardest nights of our lives. They saved our girl’s life. There are no words strong enough to express our gratitude. Entrusting someone with your baby’s life is terrifying, but Luna could not have been in better hands. Thank you, truly, to the entire team. you are extraordinary, and you all deserve a pay rise.

Fantastic experience: We had to unfortunately put our rabbit Daisy to sleep this morning unexpectedly. I would just like to say an unconditional thank you to Inka and Emily for being so amazing with me, and Daisy! Inka went above and beyond to drop our carry case and the memory making items off at our house on her way home, which my partner who was at work at the time really really appreciated having. This was way above what was expected. They were absolutely amazing and deserve some credit, I hope you can get them this message! Thanks, Lewis & Jess♥️

Fantastic experience: Amazing, I called up for what I felt was an emergency and was told if you feel it is even more important, we can see your cat straight away, just come down, that is fantastic service and what I wanted to hear. Amanda was just amazing. My cat came back home limping and not itself when walking and jumping. Naturally I was worried and scared for him. Amanda put me at ease, relaxed me with positive news and was absolutely spot on. Thank you for everything, wonderful vet, staff and all round service.

Vets for pets do a great job with all my dogs, my favourite vet is Sara, she's so good with all of them... It's a very friendly practice and can recommend most highly.... Negative experience: Should be called Vets for Profit, not Vets for Pets. Read this — you’ve been warned. I brought my dog in to have some stitches removed — they were from an accident while we were away, and had been put in by a different vet. While there, the attending vet (evidently fresh out of nappies and showing zero compassion) also advised that all of our dog’s canines needed to be removed. Both my wife and I were shocked. She’s a qualified dental therapist — and while she works with human teeth, the biological structure of a tooth is the same. She immediately questioned the recommendation, which was not only extreme but would have seriously affected our dog’s ability to eat and his long-term wellbeing. We sought a second opinion from an independent vet, who confirmed what we suspected: the advice was completely unnecessary and clearly profit-driven. They even spoke with the original vet who placed the stitches, who also agreed such a procedure was wholly unjustified. This clinic made us feel pressured and fearful, showing no genuine concern for our dog’s welfare. I strongly recommend seeking an independent vet. Don’t take their word for it — they do not have your pet’s best interests at heart. Vets4Pets are part of Companion Care, a profit-driven corporate group. To them, your beloved pet is just one thing: a cash cow.

Fantastic experience: We recently had to say good night to my first baby, my cat Poppy on 17/4. This was rather unexpected (although she was 20) as we were just taking her in for the vet to take a look at her teeth as she was having trouble eating. Unfortunately, it turned out to be the worst case scenario and we had to put her to sleep. The vet Shane explained everything very clearly to us and was empathetic, whilst remaining professional. The nurses were so kind and gave us tissues and offered condolences. It was such a hard time for me and my family but made easier from the kindness of everyone at Vets4Pets. I had to come back up a few days later as unfortunately we were charged for a cremation which was just human error. I did get rather upset but again was comforted by the lovely girl on reception (really sorry I didn’t take any other staff members/nurses names). In the same week, I had to bring my other cat up for her annual booster and we dealt with a different vet and nurse who were equally as lovely and made a fuss of Jessie (which was refreshing as our previous vets just wanted you in and out). Thank you again for your great service! Hopefully we don’t have to see you all again so soon, but we will be in safe hands if we do ☺️❤️ Attached is Poppy in the waiting room enjoying her last bit of Costa cream before going for her forever sleep

Fantastic experience: Have taken a couple of kittens here to be neutered and unfortunately our eldest cat go to sleep. The receptionists and vets are absolutely fantastic. They make sure your checked in and seated in the right area and the vets are told your there. The waiting are is always spotlessly clean and if any pets have an accident it's instantly cleaned up and disinfected. The vets are caring and not just there to make money like I have experienced at other vets where they want you to throw money at them to keep a animal going. When our elderly cat had had a diagnosis they were honest and up front and explained everything perfectly which was great for my elderly mother (no wasn't getting her euthanized yet) so I didn't have to explain it to her. The receptionist made sure we were looked after and we were shown to a low lit room with a nice fluffy blanket for our cat. After it was complete we were given a card with a collection of paw prints. This made a sad time easier. Other vets can charge £15 and over for print. If you want a place to take your loved fur / non fur babies to be cured , fixed etc then go here as the service is second to none.

Fantastic experience: Bobby went in today for his second jabs, he was very well looked after and all my questions were answered, all the staff being very helpful. Would highly recommend vets 4 pets here.

Fantastic experience: I've had a wonderful experience of Colton Vets for Pets. I called up first thing and an urgent appointment was immediately available. The staff were all so friendly and caring and rang me regularly to update me about my cat Nala. The team all really tried to help me find the best treatment for Nala, bearing in mind my financial restrictions. During a really worrying, stressful week I honestly couldn't have asked for a better team. Special mention to Dave the vet who I found to be so knowledgeable, caring and kind. I will definitely be returning (hopefully not too soon though!)

Fantastic experience: Called up this evening quite upset after receiving some fairly harsh advice from pets at home regarding fleas that sent me into a panic and spoke with Amy, she was absolutely amazing and gave me honest advice while also putting my mind massively at ease and even had me laughing by the end of the phone call. Even though this isn't my regular vets she politely answered all my questions. I had also called 20 minutes before closing but I didn't feel at all like I was being dismissed. Honestly I can't thank her enough for her help.

Fantastic experience: Once again Vets for Pets Colton saved the life of my beloved frenchie Zula who was very ill on 2 August after most likely eating something at the park she had horrendous sickness' and diaorea which progressed to vomiting blood and bleeding from her the back passage. Rang vet the wonderful receptionist listened to me and calmly gave me an immediate appointment and was so reassuring . I was met by Inka the vet who was so attentive with Zula and so thorough with her examination. Inka took time to listen to what had happened to lead up to Zula becoming so unwell and talked through her symptoms. . Inka took time to talk through the treatment plan gave Zula an anti sickness injection and meticulously explained why certain medications were needed. She did not make false promises or give guarantees but told me what I needed to do if Zula got worse and reassurances that if things did get worse I could ring 24 hrs and someone would be there to help Zula. She went through the instructions for the medications . I went home deeply concerned but hopeful. Within 8 hrs I saw a significant improvement and within 36 hours Zula was so much better . Words cannot express my heartfelt gratitude to Inka her expertise and intervention and treatment plan saved my Zula’s life . Vets for pets Colton consistently offers a first class incomparable service and treatment -

Fantastic experience: Had my girls spayed together with David and his team who took the best care of both my girls before during and after surgery. Nothing was too much trouble from answering all my questions before the procedure to after surgery snuggles when they both came round until I could pick them up. All aftercare was explained in great detail and was sent home with pain relief to suit both their needs as I have 1 on regular steroids her pain medication needed to be changed but both have been very comfortable on what they was given and have recovered nicely at home. The after care is absolutely brilliant the practice stay in regular contact via WhatsApp which is great for any niggles I had and sending pictures which I got plenty of after surgery to let me know they was both doing well and I’m able to send recovery pictures to save me going to practice on day 3 & 10 all in all a fantastic experience and I can’t thank David and his team enough for taking the best care of my girls

Fantastic experience: David is a brilliant vet and looks after customers and gets to know pets as well. The issue we had recently is we needed the emergency vet so rang the practice which then gave us the Birstall Vets4Pets only for the phone to ring out continuously on several calls with no answer. These calls took place over an hour at 6 pm on a Sunday Evening This service is not fit for purpose. We had to ring a competition vet to get advice regarding our dog getting chocolate cake whilst left in house alone for ten minutes

Fantastic experience: I have my own doggy daycare and boarding business and every time I have had to use this practice I have been impressed with all of the staff. My own dog has had to come a lot recently and the nurses are lovely with him. They are always so friendly and helpful, both on the phone and in person. The vet David is excellent! He always goes out of his way to explain everything clearly, and I have complete faith in him, which is not something I have ever been able to say about any other vet. He is the right combination of friendly and professional, and I think that is so important when you are an owner, and trusting your pet into the care of someone. When he operated on my dog Bruno recently, the wound healed really well, so clearly he's a good surgeon as well! Bruno and I actually look forward to our visits to the vets now, which is amazing. A vets practice is only ever as good as it's staff, and they are fantastic here.

Fantastic experience: I’ve had a great experience today for my first visit to Vets4Pets. I phoned up prior to discuss costs and the monthly plan, and Emily was so helpful. She was very informative and was very patient with all of my questions and queries. Upon my visit I saw Emily and again she was extremely informative and very nice to talk to. The Vet I saw (I’m not sure what his name is but he was young) was very nice, polite, gentle with my kitten and really informative again. A brilliant experience for me and my kitten, both as newbies to Vets!

Fantastic experience: Always friendly and helpful staff taking good care of our pets for the last 5 years. Newly refurbished reception area is big and separated for cats and dogs. I don't like to use chain establishment as a rule but friendly staff here makes up for it. Any receptionist, nurse or vet we dealt with was professional and made us feel like our pet's wellbeing is in best hands.

Fantastic experience: Ample parking. It's a shopping centre. The clinic is upstairs at pet's at home. But there is a lift. Spacious reception so plenty of room if your pet is nervous. All the staff are very professional, friendly and knowledgeable

Negative experience: Worst vets I have ever used! Have no care or consideration for the animals and are solely for monetary gain. Also does not care to adhere to GDPR , I will be seeking legal advise following the ongoing treatment by this practice. No care for animal welfare whatsoever which is the most worrying thing about this practice. Do not leave your animals in there care. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!!

Fantastic experience: We are new to this vet and our first impressions are great. The vets are really friendly and helpful, and the reception staff go above and beyond to help. We had some confusion over our puppies vaccination status after a mishap from a different vet, and the receptionist (Summer) spent a good 30 mins helping us, which including calling the vet in question to get our puppies health record. She gave us a puppy pad so we could put our puppy on the floor for a toilet break while we tried to resolve it, and was really helpful fielding our never ending list of questions. Can’t recommend this vet enough, and Summer has given us a lasting positive impression of this vet!

Fantastic experience: The team here are wonderful. We’ve had several animals treated by them over the years. From a husky with liver disease and another with lymphoma. They regularly check over our rabbits too, always providing our animals with care and detailed attention. We’ve mainly dealt with Shane and David as vets, both lovely, knowledgeable and understanding.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic place. The staff is friendly, and they find a time to book your pet on the same day to ensure nothing terrible can go further with them.

Fantastic experience: The vets here are lovely and we have always managed to get a same day appointment if one of our pets is ill. Even on weekends, which is the main reason we chose this vet practice. They are open on Saturdays and Sundays too so if your pets are I'll on the weekend you don't have to face the dilemma of paying a massive out of hours fee or waiting until Monday. I would recommend them

Fantastic experience: I have been going to Vets4Pets for years having followed Dave from Easterly road so he could continue to be my dogs vet. The service is always first class. Having just had my cats teeth treated I cannot praise them enough for the transparency of their quotes, value for money and of course most importantly treatment of my pets.

Fantastic experience: I took my little hamster Nova to this practice when she became poorly one evening last week – they were great and reacted promptly to my concerns about her welfare, squeezing her in for an appointment at short notice. I spoke to their nurse Emily, and she was very kind and helpful; I felt very comfortable that Nova was being well cared for by people who understand and appreciate small pets. Sadly, Nova did deteriorate over the coming days despite everyone’s best efforts for her, and the practice again arranged a short notice evening appointment for me to give her a dignified goodbye. I was touched by how kind everyone was; this practice truly seemed to understand that small pets are also important to their owners. The vet was compassionate and honest, and the nurse who spoke to me afterwards (I’m so sorry, I was quite emotional and missed her name) was so understanding – she had even taken some little pawprints from Nova for me which I have never had or even been offered elsewhere. Thank you so much for your kindness; it really did mean so much.

Fantastic experience: Took our 16yr old Yorkie and had to have all his teeth out which was a shock, they were so helpful and informative and passionate, felt he was in good hands. He got through and 4 days on is doing really well and the bill was less than estimated which doesn’t happen often, definitely 10 stars!!!

Fantastic experience: Both my cats are registered here and I wouldn’t go anywhere else. Staff are lovely & friendly and I can tell they love our animals just as much as we do. I’d highly recommend them, I also love the little details they add to the prescription bags. Negative experience: Just joined the vets and already a bad experience, the girls on my first visit to get my puppy vaccinated were lovely but i called for some bits for him I greeted with a rude male on the phone, sighed when I asked for it delivered then put it to be collected anyway? What’s the point in requesting delivery to put it for collection? If you cant be arsed to do your job why bother? Bad customer service compared to Bramley where our other dog is. Disappointing.

Fantastic experience: I have been very impressed by the vets and reception workers at Leeds Colton. Everyone was enthusiastic and energetic. I felt a real love for the animals. The reception team are outstanding, they were very helpful and knowledgable. They put a smile on our faces and are great over the phone too.

Negative experience: This place is all about money. I've been in another vets for pets with an absolutely different regime of charges for their services. In this place I was charged for a couple of consultations where the vet didn't even touched my dog to explore the problem. I found it abusive. My dog had a surgery costing me £700. The first visit after the operation (just a week after the surgery), the vet didn't even got close to my dog and said: "yes she's fine, come back in a week", and they charged me for this £22. The surgery was underneath the ear, and she didn't even pull the ear up to see the wound!. £22 just for having a sit in the waiting area? Moreover, they wanted to remove the cannula in the ear USING GENERAL ANESTHESIA AGAIN!!!! I removed the cannula at home, myself with a couple of kisses on her nose with no problem at all!!, exactly as the other vet did in the past, not using anesthesia. After the expensive operation that they did on my dog (exactly DOUBLE than the previous one in the other vets 4 pets, in London) the pocket of blood returned, just a week after, and they wanted to charge me again for another full operation. Disgusting, disappointed as never before.

Fantastic experience: Ive struggled to get my new puppy registered with a local vet, so I travelled to Colton and was so happy I did. Fantastic helpful reception team, great vet and reasonable prices. Glad my new baby is in safe hands!

Fantastic experience: All staff were helpful and respectful. The treatment offered in addition to annual vaccinations was excellent. The vet also fully explained the flea/worming treatment prescribed. We needed to request annual medication to deal with our dog’s anxiety around the firework season and I felt we were listened to and out pet was medicated accordingly. Thank you.

Fantastic experience: Yesterday, we had to say goodbye to our 14 year old Labrador Ruby. David the vet, the receptionist, and the nurses were all so lovely and looked after us so well. During the consultation and procedure, David the vet was so helpful, calm and patient with us, helping to make the experience for both Ruby and ourselves as comfortable as possible. Thank you. Fantastic experience: Big thank you to David and all the staff for taking great care of my millie whilst having her bose operation. David was so caring taking the time to explain the procedure. Millie has recovered really well , it has given her a new lease of life. I would really really recommend anyone having problems with brachycephalic breeds with breathing problems to get it sorted. It's expensive but worth every penny to see my dog happy.
