Negative experience: BEWARE! Caused un-necessary death of my cat. Either negligent or just ignorant. I brought my cat in with a high temperature and advanced tooth decay (which I believed was the reason behind him not eating) - this by the way is despite every health check visit I mentioned his teeth and was always told they were fine. The vet at the time gave my cat antibiotics for the temperature and half mentioned blood tests, but didn't explain why or stress they were important (or I would have agreed - in hindsight, this is likely when I could have saved his life with a FIP diagnosis). I brought him back in, more lethargic and I was worried as he wasn't eating. A different vet checked his vitals and suggested a thyroid test, I asked for the reasoning and for her to share her concerns only to be told there wasn't time for that in the appointment (I later saw in the notes she put that she suggested a thyroid test but didn't suspect a thyroid issue). I booked a dental for a week later. After a couple of days of my cat not eating I called to try to bring the dental forward (at this stage I had no reason to believe it wasn't dental related as no one had corrected me, in hindsight Im now aware I should have had knowledge of all possible diseases so I could suggest them to the vet), they said it was ok him eating just a few treats daily and they couldn't move his appoiontment - I got the impression they just couldn't be bothered to look into it and just brushed my concerns off. I called many other vets and got hold of a different branch of vets4pets (Netherfield) and the girl on reception was really concerned about the symptoms I was describing, spoke to a vet and got him seen the same day. The new vet tirelessly spoke with me and investigated everything and it turned out he had fip. He sadly passed away the first day of his treatment, I can't help but feel if I had been advised why it was suggested I do blood tests when he first came to Mapperley with a high temperature or his gums had been looked at (he was pale and jaundiced) he could have had an earlier diagnosis and he'd still be here. In short I felt this branch had suspicions something was amiss but didn't have the time to talk to me properly about it so went along with my suggestion it might be his teeth. Netherfield was totally different, I witnessed a completely different level of care with them. As from response I can see they've asked me to call and talk to them, but I have no words for them. Talking won't bring back my cat.

Negative experience: I contacted the practice to ask whether my cat could be seen one day before her Complete Care Plan renewal date, as I will be away on the renewal date and wanted to ensure there was no delay to her plan or medication. During the initial call, the receptionist, Mel, confirmed this would be fine and I could bring my cat in beforehand, make payment, and the plan would simply renew on the system on the correct date. I made it clear that this was acceptable to me. Seconds later, Mel called me back and abruptly changed her position, stating she had made a “note to herself” last year not to allow me to attend early. She incorrectly claimed this would result in my cat receiving two vaccination boosters in one year, which is not true as a full year has passed since my cat’s last booster. The renewal date itself was only moved from 2nd January to 9th January previously due to the practice rescheduling an appointment, yet I was told the system “wouldn’t allow” the date to be corrected hence why I called them to discuss this appointment. What I found most shoking was the sudden shift in tone. The second call was aggressive, condescending, and dismissive, despite no change in circumstances. I was told that if I wanted to attend early, I would have to pay outside of the care plan which raises the question of why this is supposedly unsafe within the plan, yet acceptable if extra money is paid. I have always had positive experiences with the veterinary and nursing staff, but this interaction was unnecessarily stressful, unprofessional and contradictory. Reception staff are often the first point of contact, and this level of inconsistency and attitude is not acceptable in a practice providing medical care for pets.

Negative experience: I am leaving this review after an extremely distressing experience with this practice that ultimately ended in the loss of my cat. I brought my cat to this vet multiple times when he became unwell. At the first visit, around a week before he passed away, I was told that nothing was wrong with him. As his condition continued, I returned again and raised concerns. Blood tests were taken and he was given pain relief, after which his condition worsened significantly with severe lethargy. I then had to take him to the emergency vet, where he was given anti-sickness medication and I was told to wait for the blood test results. Despite my repeated concern about how unwell he was, I was advised to monitor him. On Saturday, when my cat could no longer stand on his feet, I phoned this practice in a state of panic and distress. I was crying on the phone while trying to explain that he could not stand and was clearly deteriorating. During this call, I was told about his blood results and that medication could be given, or that an ultrasound scan could be considered. It was only after I clearly repeated that he could not stand and could not wait that I was finally told his condition had worsened and that I should take him to the emergency vet. I went to the emergency vet immediately. Within approximately 20 minutes of arrival, I was told that it was already too late and that nothing could be done to save him. I am devastated. I sought help early, I brought my cat in repeatedly, I followed all advice given, and I paid significant emergency fees, yet the seriousness of his condition was not recognised in time. Being told to “wait” again and again, only to then be told it was too late, has been incredibly traumatic. This experience has left me with no confidence that concerns are taken seriously or escalated appropriately. My cat deserved better.

Fantastic experience: We have been so impressed with and grateful for the care provided by this practice especially for our rabbit, Nutmeg. He has had ongoing dental issues for over a year now and Kara has consistently delivered expert care with respect and patience throughout. It’s rare to find a local vet with the level of knowledge and attention she brings to exotic pets. Kara went above and beyond for us and our rabbit, even finding us a specialist hospital for referral who could do a CT and perform a complex surgery when his symptoms progressed too far for treatment here. We cannot thank Kara and the rest of the team enough. We also really appreciate that the practice is open on weekends and we have never struggled to get an emergency appointment.

Negative experience: In my experience, they showed a complete lack of competence — we went there twice, our pet was left to die because they couldn’t figure out what was wrong, yet they still charged us even the second time. They know very well about money instead!

Negative experience: Our dog has been going here since she was a puppy. She has incredibly bad allergies and for two appointments this was dismissed and I was told stupid things like “she’s only itching because she was purchased from London” It took until I was crying down the phone and my dog had scratched her nipple half off for them to prescribe a medicine for her. Took her to the vets for multiple concerns, met with multiple vets to be told utter rubbish that when I went to an emergency vet she couldn’t believe the false information I had been told. Twice they took too long to put the injection into my dog that the needle was left just hanging out of her. Had a lump on her head she’s had since she was a puppy, a vet looked at it in detail and said to get it drained if we are worried as it could be cancerous but she wasn’t sure…this was in the hundreds and with previous appointments we wanted a second opinion…Went to a new vets to be told it is a blackhead spot in 10 seconds and she sorted it there and then. Took another vet two seconds to realise what their vet couldn’t in two appointments. Tried to push my bulldog getting spayed by keyhole (£500 more) because “flat faced dogs struggle under anaesthetic”… keyhole is under anaesthetic obviously so absolutely no idea where they went to vet school. I have now changed vets and in one appointment she cleared up all concerns with actual answers and what a difference it has made. I NEVER COMPLAIN AS U CAN SEE FROM MY LACK OF REVIEWS. But if this stops even ONE person going here and wasting your money it’s a win. Incompetent vets (we were seen by 3 different people who had 0 idea and couldn’t clear anal glands properly) only up side is that the ladies on the desk are lovely. Wish I listened to the bad comments I wouldn’t trust them to carry out a surgery on my dog so I changed vets and I’m so thankful I did.

Negative experience: I have just picked up Synulox an antibiotic for my elderly dog’s possible UTI. I have just been charged £50:40 for 14 tablets. I understand storage and dispensing ( a packet of sealed tablets, bot really dispensing !! I feel absolutely ripped off… The MARK up is astronomical. Next time I will do prescription only. They are not an expensive antibiotic, nothing special other than the PRICE i was charged.

Negative experience: Terrible experience and do not recommend at all. These vets are money grabbers and care more For your wallet than your pet. I brought my 10 weeks old kitten to these vets 3 times over 2 weeks over growing concerns about his health. The first time they told me it was an eye infection and prescribed meds which I paid for. The second time they said it was a respiratory infection which I again bought meds for. The third time was especially difficult because my cat was in bad shape and they told me it was a severe case of hairballs. Over the next 3 days my lit-tens condition worsened. He was having 10 seizures a night. Another vet confirmed that he had a liver shunt and was too far gone to save due to the brain damage caused by the seizures and we had to put him down. but not before vets for pets Mapperley tried to charge us thousands in diagnosis fees. Don’t ever use these vets. Thanks

Fantastic experience: Really good vets. Very impressed with all the staff here. Open Sundays and have appointments you can book on the day

Dee Dee Posted on Google 10 months ago

Negative experience: Tried to make an emergency appointment this morning for my dog who had breathing difficulties. The lady I spoke to refused to book an appointment without full vet history being given at the time of booking. I asked if I could go through that when I arrived at the appointment. They said no and that I should call back when I had more time ( I was driving, trying to navigate a sick pet and the school run so was flustered). Turns out i didn't have time. I got another appointment 30 mins later at another vet without having to worry about paperwork in advance. My dog has been put to sleep this morning. You should be ashamed of making things so difficult and having zero compassion when you must have heard from my voice how worried and upset I was.

Fantastic experience: We had come to the very difficult decision that it was time to let our 15 year old little pug x girl go . The vet we saw who I believe might have been Alex ( we were both too upset to fully take everything in ) was so lovely . The situation was dealt with in a very caring understanding way . I would highly recommend this surgery from the receptionists , nurses and the vets , very caring & made a very difficult moment the best it could have been . Thankyou vets 4 pets Mapperley .

Gaming Comedian Posted on Google 1 year ago

Negative experience: I would recommend staying away from this place as they like to trick you into paying more money even though you get asked to bring your pet back in, so they can check the tablets are working even though no money got mention seeing as I already payed £110 to start with to get the treatment going. On top of that when I do bring my pet back in I had to wait 45 minutes just for vet to fail using a thermometer and say yes everything is fine. What an absolute disgrace and I get charged an extra £45 for that what a joke.

Negative experience: Took my dog in for a check about hair loss and having a rash around his thighs ended up paying an extortionate amount to just be told to come back if it gets worse. Turned out there was an issue that could've been addressed there and then but wasn't. Save yourself the hassle of going here and go somewhere the vet actaully cares about animals.

Faye Smith Posted on Google 1 year ago

Negative experience: This practice are incompetent and uncaring. Unable to deal with large breeds. left my giant breed dog in a small cage for 6 hours waiting for his castration and today was extremely hot with his muzzle on (until he had his surgery). Did not feed him after surgery as he had an allergy which they knew about but said that they had nothing to offer him. Then charged me on final bill for the food he didnt get. Then charged me for a 30cms cone when his neck is 60cms. Said that was all they had. Practice manager cared so much she asked me through reception staff to just send an email after requesting a face to face conversation with her. Utterly disgusted. Vets for pets ... just small and medium sized ones though! Practice manager emailed. Disgusted.

Negative experience: I found a poor baby pigeon who had fallen from a height, their nest was two stories up and I couldn’t access it even through attempts of knocking on doors to get up there. So I had to take the little baby somewhere to help. When I called Vets4Pets, they said they could take it in, but their policy is to put it to sleep. Therefore, they do put healthy animals down! They didn’t even help to refer to any other organisation. Through researching I found Leicestershire Wildlife Hospital who took the baby in and are now treating him and feeding him, and he will be released with a flock of other pigeons once ready. I understand the vets might not have the facility to look after injured or any wild animal, but they do have a duty of care to animals and should have sign posted me to a relevant closest facility which could help, or taken him there. Their quick and easy answer is euthanasia! Not true animal lovers :(

Fantastic experience: Always polite on the phone and at reception. Our dog is treated really well and it is clean in all areas

RR II Posted on Google 2 years ago

Negative experience: All they care about is taking your money, they give no care towards your beloved animal, please avoid and find an establishment that put your pets healthcare first! I am sure there are many establishments that value you and your animals well-being. I paid for a test to view a life critical condition for my animal, after having them take the blood from the wrong area, I have had to re-do the test and had wait almost 2 weeks when I was advised a result in 3 days and all whilst my animal suffers to be told an obvious result and advised to pay for further tests. Absolutely outrageous, strongly do not advise! I will be going elsewhere!

Negative experience: really expensive, they don’t post the meds out so if you can’t get to them, you’ve paid for the monthy meds but won’t get them for your pet! the won’t backfill even though I’ve paid for them ! They only want your money and don’t care that you can’t afford the direct debits and won’t provide the treatment - they just want your money - greedy

Positive experience: 9/10 times I've been here the service has been really good the vets have always been friendly and knowledgeable and it's one of the few places my dog behaves. I've been coming here for the last 9 years and it's always remained a professional place. The only issue I've had recently is I asked for a quiet appointment for my dog which is usually never an issue I am flexible with my time, the receptionist on the phone assured me it would be quiet but I was greeted by a full waiting room which left me having to stand in the cat waiting area with a sarcastic/rude receptionist.

Fantastic experience: Been using these vets for a long time. Always good service. Staff are all wonderful.

Kerry Evans Posted on Google 2 years ago

Negative experience: After visiting the surgery today my dog needed eyedrops and antibiotics at a total cost of £89.38. Online the same drugs cost a total of £28.16! And to be told that you can charge whatever you want to, (and more if you decided to) is disgusting. How are people who are struggling at the moment, supposed to help their animals, when you can charge whatever you like? Your advert says you are "committed to affordable care"- but how can this be true? I am really disappointed at what I've learnt today and i have been coming here for 17+ years. Also i was told my rabbit had cherry eye and surgery would cost over £1300 good job i didn't go ahead with it has my rabbits eye is fine now. I don't feel this practice has the animal best interest at heart!

Negative experience: Cant shake the vets/nurses. They're always really helpful & kind however every time I've called the reception area it feels like you're being rushed. I've decided to put a review today since I've had a particularly rude experience; the lady was very abrupt & honestly it seems like you're a burden when talking to them. I only wanted to check if my meds were in stock so I could pick them up the next day, when asking for the price to make sure I brought the right cash I was interrupted & she kept sighing. I just wont order meds any more unless I get a chance at speaking to the nurses or ordering them from pets at home. The 3 minute conversation today just left me feeling pretty embarrassed in taking up their time & somewhat frustrated at the same time. If its bus, or they're having a bad day then i understand, but i cant seem to remember a time where ive ever had a decent call experience from reception unless it was to call me about collecting the ashes of my deceased pet, then they were pretty apologetic & kind. Only 1 bad experience with a pet being mis diagnosed that resulted, in my opinion, euthanasia to be undertaken too quickly without much thought for surgery, but thats a story for another time. Every other experience with the vets has been fine.

Negative experience: Disgusted with my service today. This is my local pets. The older woman at the desk was solmen and downright rude and unhelpful! I had a rescue kitten that was unwell and needed a seeinh too. She was completely unbothered by this, spoke like a robot telling me there’s no appointments for weeks. I said okay I’ll take the one in weeks. She said no there’s none for months we can’t help you. No additional help or advice nothing!!!! It So much for priding yourselves on caring for animals but if it doesn’t involve money or paying your wages there’s no empathy! Poor customer service.

Fantastic experience: These vets have been excellent with my frightened rescue dog All the staff seem kind and patient They don't push you to buy products or run tests and I think the prices are no more expensive than other vets and a lot cheaper than some I would recommend these vets to anybody

Negative experience: Been going here for about 5 years and now I am finally deciding to go elsewhere. The service is very hit and miss depending on which vet you see. Our dog never had an issue with his behaviour at the vets until covid when they took pets in without the owners and now they tell us he gets snappy. They have bad attitudes and recently we went for boosters and were told by the vet and reception that there was nothing to pay today. Then a month later they rang asking for money as if we were criminals. It's a shame because there are some staff who are great but we are not willing to risk it and be treated poorly anymore.

Fantastic experience: I have been with this vet for a good 12 years +. Service has gotten better. This year has been very unfortunate for me that I have had to visit the vet numerous times, I can't recommend more super attentive vets Jianni, Ally and Alex looking after my dogs Princess and Dolce (sadly can't make it). The nurses and the receptionist are very helpful. Princess especially has been back and forward. Sadly I have to leave this vet and move to a 24-hour Priory Vet because I have had a very bad experience with the VET NOW emergency! Can't recommend the vet Jianni enough

Mapperley Mapperley Posted on Google 2 years ago

Negative experience: Absolutely terrible service with an extremely bad attitude from vet called ALLY, I know it can be extremely difficult to diagnosis anything in life but videos can be extremely helpful. So for the last week or so I’ve been recording my dogs limp just to help the vets when I take him to see when he does it ect, I explained I’ve got some videos but these didn’t want to be seen(strange) I was advised anti inflammatory medicine would help. I then explained we’ve rested him for weeks and it don’t seem to help, she said ‘well I’m advising you’ in such a terrible manner, It was like I had no right to even talk and she just wanted to explain and then I go, I was taken a back and I did highlight this to her which seemed she didn’t care as she given advise and it was like you take my advise or leave it. I spoke to the manager and she explained in much more detail which I highlighted if ALLY would have said this instead of her raised tone me and my dog would have fell much more comfortable.

Fantastic experience: We hadn't seen this vet before, but she explained everything in " laymans terms". I am a nurse myself and u nderstand sometings, but she went out of her way to explain everything so we fully understood, We didnt get " you know he's overweight" or any other comment we've had in the past. We are trying hard to reduce Toby's weight, to try and help with his arthritis, and she was very encouraging about his weight loss, which pleased my partner, cos he's convinced Tobys starving ( which obviously he isnt).

Negative experience: The trainee nurse that came to help to hold my giant rabbits whilst the vet gave them both a full health check and their vaccinations was lovely and very talkative to me and my partner however the vet that was doing the health check and the vaccination on both my rabbits was miserable and didn’t really seem to bothered about she seemed like she couldn’t be bothered to check them over and she didn’t talk to me and my partner regarding our new giant rabbits that we’ve recently purchased and registered with vets4pets the 2 receptionist ladies was lovely and took a interest in to my rabbits they was talking to us and telling us they never seen a giant rabbit going to their vets before they adored my rabbits and was very friendly ladies it was just the vet that was abit miserable and didn’t talk much.

Fantastic experience: Our GSD is registered at this vets & we have unfortunately had to visit a few times due to scares with his legs this year. The vets we have seen have always lovely, caring and adore our boy. The receptionists have also always been very helpful and polite!

Let's Ascend Together Posted on Google 3 years ago

Negative experience: Absolutely horrible money hungry practice. Receptionists are very rude and difficult. This place does not care about your pets. I changed vets due to them predictably being nasty every time I called them.

Kyle Jones Posted on Google 3 years ago

Negative experience: My dogs just been for his routine check and he has a scab from a dog bite that was healing. The vet thought it was a skin flap and even though she was told it was a scab, she removed it to then decide ooo so it is a scab. So now the wound is exposed again.

Fantastic experience: Been a client here for years, excellent staff- always highly professional.

Sheila Mounteney Posted on Google 3 years ago

Fantastic experience: Friendly, efficient and proffesional as always. Phone consultation was good in the present circumstances. But would rather have face to face consultation.

Negative experience: I took 2 of my 10 day old puppies to this vets in mapperly one has a lump on her chest and the other puppy had eating problems so I thought it’s best if take them to the vets. I got to the vets just to know that the vet would not look at my puppy because she said she doesn’t have enough time so why make me bring both of my puppies??? The other puppy with a lump they avoiding the question and started talking about the puppies stomach it’s bloated so they took her in the back to try to make her pop and wee Ive been doing that all day. My puppy who had eating problems has sadly passed away because they didn’t have time to look at him but charged me for the nurse to look at him that isn’t right. I will put in a complaint and they will hear from my lawyers. This vets is just money hungry avoid avoid avoid

Mike Lee Posted on Google 3 years ago

Negative experience: My partner and I do dogsitting and a clients dogs back paw was all infected, she came to us like that, so we took lily the dog to her vets to which is yourself, as our client had agreed for us to take lily to your clinic ,so we did ,all went well as it should , but my main gripe with your reception staff as lily's owner came to pick lilly up around 8.45 and bang on 9 o'clock she had 3 phone calls and a message hounding for money or what they had very little sleep and had not long got up yet 9am 9.01, 9. 02 ,9.09 THE LADY SAID SHE WOULD BE PAYING THE NEXT DAY ,WHY ALL THE HARASSMENT 1ST THING IN THE MORNING...

Jen X Posted on Google 3 years ago

Negative experience: Raciest and rude! Recipient was extremely rude after I gave her my my family name. she yelled and interrupted me while giving her the spilling asking me what do I want, then said "we don't have an appointments" and ended the call. I wasn't even able to explain the issue and why I'm calling! don't bother calling unless you have an English last name.

Lynn Hobbs Posted on Google 3 years ago

Fantastic experience: Very good service and really good quality service and great value service for my family and really enjoyed Thank you

Hakan Gonen Posted on Google 3 years ago

Negative experience: Reception not helpfull at all. I did not even finish my question and she told us they could not help as they are full and taking any new registrations. Seemed very eager to point us to the door the minute we stepped in.

Paul Sharpe Posted on Google 3 years ago

Negative experience: Rang to book my dog in for her vacs for life jab two weeks before the date ended was told they couldn't get her in till after the date because they were to busy and was told we have to pay again. That's the way to get round to make more money. Spoke to there manager took me 3 phone calls and to emails before she got back to me fobed off.

Carole Smith Posted on Google 3 years ago

Fantastic experience: The caring nature of the staff ,plus explanation of what could be done for my poorly pet.

Debz Betts Posted on Google 4 years ago

Negative experience: 2nd opinion and have to see the same vet? That's not a second opinion. Thats a 2nd consultation with the same vet. Not impressed at all.

Yvonne Hardy Posted on Google 4 years ago

Fantastic experience: Elderly dog, very worried little soul. Taken care of wonderfully by Silvia de Paoli. Difficult during COVID of course to continue with same vet. Now we feel happy to find a lovely vet. Liz Stockholm has always been very caring with dog and us.

Duggy Posted on Google 4 years ago

Negative experience: I’ve been a member of this vets for years, my poor dog had a problem with his leg/foot when I rang for an appointment I was told it would be a month, it was an emergency and they said they couldn’t see him. They dont seem to care about the animal just the money. Rang medivet on Winchester street and was seen straight away. Absolute joke

vicki ward Posted on Google 4 years ago

Fantastic experience: It meets all my pets needs and staff very helpful and friendly

Em MacGillivray Posted on Google 4 years ago

Negative experience: Some nice vets and reception staff there sometimes but rarely see the same person twice and there is a clear lack of experience in the workforce. Moreover if you do have an issue with anything you are billed for or any issues with the treatment, you get treated with utter contempt and patronised by the management. The billing is incredible for some very inexpensive treatments (eye drops, paracetamol etc) and very expensive tests will be repeated for no obvious reason other than being able to charge you more or ease their own anxiety at making basic diagnoses. After multiple bad experiences, we will not be going back.

Paul Morris Posted on Google 4 years ago

Fantastic experience: Staff are friendly and supportive. They keep you informed of everything that is happening and keep simple so it's clear what the procedure involves. The covid protocol in place at the moment works well and makes you feel confident of the safety.

Philip Hancock Posted on Google 4 years ago

Fantastic experience: We called with an emergency and you saw us quickly. You explained everything with me and we left with treatment to carrying on with at home and so far our Dog is doing ok. Thanks.

Karen Forshaw Posted on Google 4 years ago

Fantastic experience: Great staff and Garfield our cat seems to still not worry about visiting.

Duncan Wilson Posted on Google 4 years ago

Fantastic experience: Even now as we slowly emerge out of many restrictions of covid, the practice has continued to maintain as much one on one ( face to face ) discussion about pets needs and health requirements whilst making the whole ( sometimes stressful) business as stressless as possible and giving all involved the information necessary and as private as covid regulations allowed, many many thanks to all the Vets4Pets staff

Niki Heath Posted on Google 4 years ago

Positive experience: I took my dog in for annual vaccination. Unfortunately he had an ear infection, the vet explained that he couldn't have his vaccination but treated the ear and arranged a follow up appointment. The vet was helpful and explained everything

Helen O'Connell Posted on Google 4 years ago

Fantastic experience: Excellent service as ever and so pleased to have their care and support for our dog's health issues.

Graham Gallagher Posted on Google 4 years ago

Negative experience: Mapperley Vets4Pets – Don’t Waste Your Time! Their slogan is, "our pet comes first", well it doesn’t – money does! We booked an Animal Health Certificate on the 23rd August 2021 quoted £168, the vet made 2 mistakes and told me that she was so stressed doing them it’s not worth her time, (I had to go back twice to resign the AHC, due to these errors). Then 22nd September 2021 I phoned up for another AHC only to be told by Louise Stanley (receptionist) that she had spoken to the vet and they no longer do NEW AHC’s, I said they did one in August then she came back and told me not for us, they had stopped doing NEW AHC 3 months ago which was a lie!! I phoned round as we had to travel in the next 3 days, so I found another vet locally who agreed to do the EMERGENCY AHC within 48 hours for £98! So, your pet comes first with vets4pets…REALLY! Our dog has a referral at Pride in Derby and has an appointment in November, when we informed Pride they confirmed that Mapperley Vets4Pets would be taken off the notes, we will update them with the new vets information and that Mapperley Vets4Pets will not get the referral payment from Pride! This on top of £60 per month medication our dog is on (£720 per annum), if the practice had provided better customer service, they would not have lost this little gold mine we call our beloved dog. Whenever I went to the practice pre covid I felt that the staff are standoffish and at times unprofessional. Now post covid they are still working as if we are in covid, with no owners in the practice. All in all, Vets4pets Mapperley was a very poor experience ever in the 12 years we have had our dog and used Vets4Pets across the county throughout this time UNTIL NOW! If you’re looking for a vet, give this practice a miss there are plenty in Nottingham. Find one that actually values your pet and you, more than the money. Because these vets know we love our pets, they use that as leverage against us pet owners, to line their pockets. THE WORST VET EXPERIENCE I’VE HAD IN USING VETS4PETS IN 12 YEARS!!! AVOID!!!!!!

AngusBug Posted on Google 4 years ago

Fantastic experience: Kerry is just so helpful, and treats you (& your pet) as an individual. She certainly cares for animals.

Craig Fiddes Posted on Google 4 years ago

Negative experience: Spent £80 on a the briefest consultation and medication for help with firework noise for my dog. Turns out that we’d used this medication before and it wasn’t effective, but when I tried to return it (unopened and with receipt) I was refused a refund. The box given to me also had someone else’s full name and address on it, so I hope they take better care of people’s pets than they do to their data.

Margaret Trafford Posted on Google 4 years ago

Fantastic experience: All staff have always been very caring and helpful to both our dog and us, when I had a hard decision to make 3 years ago the vet helped and advised so well and helped me make the right decision and in the end it was my decision, . Although all vets I have seen have been very good I like that I can see the same vet if available due to my dog having complex issues. I would highly recommend Vets4 Pets Mapperley, receptionists and nursing staff are also very good.

Sam Burbidge Posted on Google 4 years ago

Fantastic experience: Great vets. Reasonably priced, welcoming , caring , friendly staff. I recommend the great value packages they do, for example innoculations for life. The only downside is the parking which although free is shared with another outlet and not many spaces, so plan ahead.

Alex Fox Posted on Google 4 years ago

Fantastic experience: Very helpful and polite staff. Highly recommended if your in need of a vets

Bolin Woodturners Bodell Posted on Google 4 years ago

Positive experience: Received telephone advice and recommended medication for my dog.

Robin Conway Posted on Google 4 years ago

Positive experience: Covid restrictions were still in place so pet exchange was in the car park but the staff were still good.

Karl Robinson Posted on Google 4 years ago

Fantastic experience: Our family dog lives going to the vets (6y Jack Russell) started going when a puppy. A friendly bunch and she gets lots of love. Tail wagging when she goes in, and when she comes back out.

Melvyn Mawer Posted on Google 4 years ago

Negative experience: Tried to get in the vets as my dog had an infection. She is 4 months old and I didn't have her on anyone's books. They said they would not see her as we were not on their books. Not very caring in my opinion. Have now gone somewhere else.

Amy Masters Posted on Google 4 years ago

Fantastic experience: Managed to get me an appointment within 18 minutes of the phonecall. Super efficient, gave me specific instructions and clear details of what they think was going on with my cats digestive system.

FOREST TILL I DIE Posted on Google 4 years ago

Negative experience: Firstly the Communication from this branch is very poor not only did they fail to tell me that no one would be allowed into the practice and its a case off them taking the pet off you and u waiting at the side off your car for them to bring your pet back. Not only was this stressful for 2 off my pets as they dont take to strangers straightaway so this caused my pets to become nervous and anxious due to vets 4 pets policy's if they had communicated this to be before then I could off choose to go somewhere else but Vets 4 pets took that away from me. Next the parking at this branch is attrocious and dangerous with various other people standing either by there car or blocking spaces , making it very hard to park and then they expect to just let you take your pet from a busy parking lot again poor planning. Finally when I booked my pets in a few weeks before I was quoted a price for my dogs bearing in mind I have 4 Shih Tzus so this already is expensive , once my 4 Dogs had there boosters and was asked asked to pay the bill then I noticed the price had increased and again no communication from Vets 4 Pets they had increased there prices no apology just basically had no intrest on actually charging the price I was quoted so next year I won't be taking my pets there to accept all these issues no thank you so avoid.

Positive experience: The receptionist was so lovely and helpful.. The vet lady was not very friendly she needs to work on friendlyness and reassure her customers as we are there because our babies are poorly.

Dean Martin Posted on Google 5 years ago

Fantastic experience: Super friendly, always a great service, all staff are clearly very passionate about animals

Marc Kelly Posted on Google 5 years ago

Fantastic experience: Friendly staff, explained the results of the exam in detail, was accommodating with then fact I’d forgotten my new dogs passport, covid safe. Was a few minutes late with appointment time, but this isn’t reflected in my review because it happens - I work in healthcare and appointments are never stuck too! Very good experience, will recommend

Fantastic experience: staff were really kind and were amazing with my puppy and giving us the best experience for our first vet appointment

Lauren Spencer Posted on Google 5 years ago

Fantastic experience: Very friendly receptionist. Vet was so lovely with our puppy and really informative

Hannah Broom Posted on Google 5 years ago

Fantastic experience: In particular, the receptionist who looked after me was so nice. I was having an awful week and got my appointment time wrong. She was super helpful and friendly and helped me to rearrange it for later that day. I really appreciated it. The vet was also extremely helpful and friendly. Always a good experience here.

Shane Morris Posted on Google 5 years ago

Fantastic experience: Alex and the team were helpful and explained everything in good time and very professionally.

Martyna Rekas Posted on Google 5 years ago

Fantastic experience: Lovely vets and all staff are friendly! Always look after my dog and provide me with all answers and queries. Would recommend

Isaac McNaul Posted on Google 5 years ago

Negative experience: Rang to ask for advice about a puppy were are purchasing that had had an allergic reaction and the receptionist was very abrupt, and clearly unwilling to help. She told me to ask for specifics from the vets the puppy had been taken to but was unwilling to tell me what specifics I didn’t take ask for as I’m a novice when it come to puppy/dog care. I was told I’d have to pay a £38 consultation fee for some advice! Rang the branch in bulwell, and was given all the advice I needed for free! Staff were extremely helpful! Rude receptionist!
