Fantastic experience: So welcoming and friendly. The 2 vets who dealt with my Daughter were friendly, professional and very sensitive. Sadly we had to say goodbye to Badger, Guinea Pig, and although such a shock and upsetting the vet and nurse, etc, were so lovely and kind. Thank you for making a horrible experience so calm. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: I am very impressed with this practice. Everyone I dealt with from reception staff to the vets were welcoming and kind. They recently helped examine and diagnose my guinea pig, Badger. The initial examination was thorough, all options were explained and a plan was quickly put in place to try and get a diagnosis. Unfortunately Badger was very ill with an incurable condition and had to be put to sleep. It was very upsetting but the staff were all supportive, kind and showed nothing but patience and respect. I hope not to need a vet again too soon but would recommend this practice.
Fantastic experience: We had to visit as an emergency on Monday with our very poorly dog Missy. Laura on reception went out of her way to communicate with Julie the vet and arrange for her to be seen by Julie who was operating at the time. After a short wait Julie called us in. Unfortunately Missy was gravelly ill and we had to say goodbye. Julie was kind and considerate showing empathy, extreme kindness and explaining the stages of euthanasia to us. Fantastic experience: Today my beautiful pet rat had to be put to sleep. the vet was very considerate and Id like to say thank you again for her skilled expertise, making it a painless process. The lady vets name was Karen. I'll definitely consider using this vet again in the future. Edited to add, thank you so much for the lovely sympathy card. Much appreciated.
Negative experience: I attend today for my first ever appointment with this vet due to some concerns with my dog excessively licking his paws and tail raw, and I have never been met with such lack of professionalism and respect. First of, I inform the vet of the concerns and that there is a history of a food allergy that I suspect that could cause this issue and that all the symptoms match to what my puppies "father" had. I was mostly dismissed and said only 10% of dogs have a food allergy so it's unlikely. Unfortunately I do not think the vet knows about my dog breed, as they are more common to have food allergies than other breeds. Second, I express my concerns with my dogs tail and that it could be infected or have a rash from all the licking. The vet let me know she didn't see anything, but just because she didn't see anything doesn't mean she doesn't "believe me about my dogs itchiness". I did not see her look at the tail. And I have attached a photo that I took after the vet appointment that there is in fact a lot of redness that she would have seen if she just looked. Thirdly, she asked me to get testing done for Brucella canis as my dog is from Poland and people would be at risk if he has it and it is something common in dogs from Romania. I brought the passport and documentation when I registered the dog back in July, nothing was mentioned then, and now the vet is telling me that if I would like to remain registered I am required to get this testing done. If you would also look at the government risk review from August 2025, it states no cases of this have been recorded from Poland. My puppy was breed at a university by the individual who created the breed so he is not from a shelter and had plenty of vet checks. And lastly and what I most cannot believe, when asked if I had other pets, I let her know i had a guinea pig. The vet proceeds to tell me how studies show a single guinea pig experiences much higher levels of stress and needs companions. The vet did not listen to my explanation that my other two pigs passed away, this one is old and aggressive towards others pigs and how we were literally adviced by a previous vet that he is happy and better alone. Instead, this vet told me I should look into a rescue to give up my pig as it might be better. So in conclusion, if you would like to be spoken over, not have your pet checked properly, told to get additional testing or kicked out of the vet, and finish off by telling you to give up your other pet to a rescue, this is the vet for you. Once my treatment plan is finished, I am going to look at switching. Ridiculous.

Positive experience: I give the practice 5 stars for their care to the animals..... which granted is the most important thing. The reason for the 3 stars is for the payment in advance they've started enforcing. I appreciate people not turning up at their appointments costs the practice. However, I don't think we should all be penalised. Maybe introduce a traffic light system or charge those customers an extra surcharge the next time they attend to compensate for the missed appointment. However, when you want me to attend an appointment for my cat to be weighed for her flee treatment which is a free appointment as part of the pet plan. I think its ridiculous that you want me to pay for that appointment in advance for you to then refund me! That is ridiculous especially when I have never missed an apponment. It has made me review whether vets 4 pets is the vets for me!

Some would say it was only a guinea pig but we were treated with so much compassion. Footprints and fur clippings. So considerate and caring would highly recommend this vets!

Fantastic experience: We have used the Kirkby branch of Vets for Pets for 5 years and wouldn’t go elsewhere. The staff are always polite, and each visit feels like they really know our cats. One of our cats needs regular check ups and medication, the vets and nurses he sees go out of their way to make sure he is calm and comfortable, and always explain things to us thoroughly. Appointments are easy to make and the reception staff will are happy to find something that will work for your schedule. Ordering medication is also really simple with a quick call and a collection.
Fantastic experience: We have recently moved to this Branch from Forest Town because the owner of the Cattery we use the Owner works at this Branch. Although a smaller outlet Staff seem more friendly & willing to help should you need. My wife & I are really pleased we have moved to this Branch.

Fantastic experience: Rang at 8.45 and was given an appointment at 11.30. It was my first time visit and the Vet I saw was fantastic. She was great with my boy, very thorough and explained everything she was doing and why. She made me feel very relaxed and reassured as I've previously had negative experiences at another vets in the area. Very impressed!!!!
Fantastic experience: Under the care plan and pay monthly. This spreads the payments for all my dogs needs. Went today for his yearly kennel cough, whilst there he also had a quick check up, they checked his ears more thoroughly as he had been shaking his head and cut his nails. All part of the plan and the care and attitude were excellent of all the staff.
Fantastic experience: Absolutely brilliant vets took my dog in rufus he had a twisted hernia they cancelled all appointments for the rest of the afternoon within 2hr he was fine and ready to come home, 2 week later we noticed his stomach was swelled again took him back thinking the worst they investigated turned out it was just infected they got the infection out and only charged for the drugs and not the treatment, the staff are amazing it's like he's a gone back in time 6years after the operation thank you
Positive experience: I was not that happy with the service I received it's get as many people through the door to make the most money didn't read anything about my pet from there records it would be nice to be seen at the time you make your appointment instead of waiting 20 to 30 minutes. The best part was I had taken my cat because it was vomiting the medicine and was given said do not give if the cat is vomiting I tried to return it but was told because I have taken it out the vet's they wouldn't be able to return it.
Negative experience: I took a lost cat into the vets and they told me it was microchipped BUT would not contact the owner I knocked on every door on my street until we found the owner The owner was very appreciative and thankful She was annoyed with the vet also!!!! Would have taken receptionist less than 1 minute to contact the owner I live just around the corner and I shall NEVER take any of my pets there!!!

Negative experience: Awful response from the manager, no loyalty for loyal clients here. Sarcastic over the phone. Sending debt Collection Agency for £47.00 when I have been bringing my cat here for over a year monthly and never missed one payment. Disgusting!
Fantastic experience: Fantastic with all of my animals over the years they've been open. Dogs, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, rats, mice, gerbils & african pygmy hedgehog. Can't recommend them highly enough, especially the vet Julie!

Fantastic experience: I was previously a member of another local vets4pets and moved as I was not satisfied with that practise. My daughter recommended this practise who are friendly, knowledgeable and approachable. The vet we have seen was friendly and is honest with options when it comes to what is needed. Fantastic experience: The whole staff team are amazing, My husband took both our dogs in with him, one of whom is very nervous and very big so can be a handful. The vet was brilliant, she helped to handle both dogs with their jabs, especially the kennel cough which our nervous dog really doesn’t like!! It was easy to get an appointment, the staff are all really friendly and all show they love their jobs and look after our pets like they were there own.
Fantastic experience: All my concerns were listened to. Nothing was pushed onto us as it has been in the past, the reception staff were very friendly and understanding. The vet and I discussed the best options going forward and quite easily came to a mutual decision on the best care for our dog.
Fantastic experience: Fantastic vets. Our cat Tilli has been really poorly over the past 2 years. We have had nothing but full support during this time. They have been so good with Tilli who has let them do all sorts with her from multiple blood tests and Bp monitoring to finding specialists and nutrition information. They know if Tilli is poorly then she's going to either be allergic to treatment or get far worse symptoms than other cats. (This is a little cat who has claws growing upwards and downwards). The surgery have supported us by keeping us fully informed about treatment and our options and have worked with us. We have had a home visit from them as Tilli gets so stressed to where she drooles and messes herself. This is so distressing for her and for us. The staff are all very friendly and know we need help with our little girl when we ring them. Thank you for all your help we can't sing your praises enough.
Fantastic experience: All staff at the practice are so nice and welcoming, you can really tell everyone wants the best for your pet. The phone always gets picked up straight away by a friendly voice. I got an appointment just a couple of hours after calling about my poorly cat. The vet explained my options to me clearly and with care. Very happy with my visit!
Positive experience: Always good with advice and quick to see my fur babies!! Having 8 cats is hard and can be expensive, but these guys know how to handle most situations!! I did have a little trouble last year with a misdiagnosis of my cats which they said he needed an operation for at £450. He didn't need the operation and was told by another vet, if we had gone ahead with the operation, he wouldn't have made it the night

Fantastic experience: Recently had to go to Vets4pets to put down my bunny and the staff was amazing, caring, and above all understanding. They sorted out payment before I even got there so I wouldn’t have to worry about it - the vet that put the bunny down was caring, she understanding and let me and my mum be with her the entire time. - although it was a very emotional visit it, I had never been treated better at any other vet
Negative experience: I was a customer for around 7 years and I’ve never had any problems with the care from the vets there generally lovely people and very professional. Unfortunately I couldn’t say the same for the reception team, I find them to be rude at times and always dread making the the calls to book my pets in or try and arrange collection of treatment… it never seems to be easy there always a comment like your not going to be able to collect your flee treatment yet because you need to give us notice even though I’m on a plan anyway. The final straw was when I missed an appointment I admitted it was completely my fault and apologised for my oversight, but this seem to fall of death ears. I was spoke to like I was a child telling me that sick animals could have had my appointment and that all future appointments needed to be paid for in advance ! for a start my animal was sick and I needed the appointment but unfortunately lost track of time !! Nobody seemed to take into consideration that for over 7 years I made every other appointment early!! My personal opinion is that they are that busy because they have taken on so many clients over covid they can’t cope anymore, i never had a issue over the previous years with the reception team they where lovely but now everyone seems stressed and rushed. Needless to say I payed the £80 cancellation charge for my plans and regretfully deceived to move vets.Medi vet in Alfreton have a appointment reminder system which is helpful for a busy business man like myself and everyone in the practice seem really nice, I’m now getting the customer service I once got from vets for pets

Fantastic experience: This vets is the best around. We lost our beloved Agnes the other day and Julie and the team couldn’t do enough for her! Agnes was a regular and they’ve always treated her with dignity and respect, been honest with us about treatments and prognosis and kept us updated. Julie and the team clearly care deeply for each pet they treat and are sensitive, caring individuals. They allowed me to say a long precious and beautiful goodbye to my baby and made such a difficult situation so much easier by their kindness and empathy. Fantastic experience: Just moved to area and my beautiful old soul took a bad turn. These vets were so supportive and kind. I think it was James, he cared about my dog and made his last moments kind and I can't thank him enough for that it's so important. However, he gave him a thorough check over to see if there was anything else we could possibly do but was honest about what we should really consider. The reception staff also were supportive and not cold at all which is so important when you live with the guilt of putting your dog to sleep. I can't thank you all enough for how you were with Boonie.
Negative experience: Have been here for a couple of years now with my 4 spaniels. A year ago I would’ve said nothing but praise about this practice, unfortunately the same cannot be said now. I’ve always been overly polite with the vets/receptionists, I’m there relatively often given I have 4 dogs, one who has 3 monthly check ups, so it’s always nice to be on good terms with a place you rely on so often. However a receptionist there has got a serious problem with her attitude. I’m not sure whether she is relatively new or I’ve just had the displeasure of seeing her more often recently. Nonetheless I’m still polite with her regardless of her mannerism up until last week. I had a small altercation with her about the number of people allowed in the practice. The poster on the wall there says “preferably one person per pet”, so I asked whether my mum could join me since she’s a little wiser in meds than me and it would’ve been helpful for her to be there. The receptionist said no, which was not a problem since the vet came to see us outside anyway. However I did make a point to the vet that the one receptionist has always got an attitude, not just today, but always, to which the vet apologised on her behalf. A week later they posted on their Facebook page that 2 people per pet were allowed in the practice anyway. Today I received a letter from the practice “we have noted on a number of occasions that your comments or manner has appeared rude towards our colleagues” “we adopt a zero tolerance policy towards any such behaviour shown” “if further issues are raised by colleagues in the practice then we will have no alternative but to ask you to find an alternative practice”. I was honestly quite upset when I received the letter since I pride myself on being a friendly, polite person, especially to those I go to in time of need. I also can accept when I’ve done wrong, however this accusation is just ridiculous. This one time, I spoke to the receptionist in the way she speaks to me, I gave back the same attitude that she always gives, and it’s a problem. I have already transferred my dogs to another veterinary practice as soon as I received the letter, since it’s just untrue and embarrassing on their behalf. In the past my pets have been misdiagnosed here, been given meds out of date, yet I’ve pushed it aside since mistakes happen, we’re only human! But for them to claim that I’m the one with a rude mannerism is just a bit much. On top of that, recently I’m always seeing different vets each time I visit even if it’s for an ongoing thing, whereas before I was always seeing the same lady, who was always very informative and extremely helpful. So going from that, to now getting little to no information on visits is also not very reassuring. There seems to be miscommunication going on between them too or just a lack of interest. Maybe next time have a chat with your receptionist, i’m sure you all know which one is being spoken of, since I’m not the only person who thinks her attitude is vile. I’m sorry if you felt that my mannerism or comments appeared rude on “multiple occasions”, I’d love to know when those “multiple” occasions were, however the feeling is mutual. Fantastic experience: Had a brilliant first visit today for my puppies injections. Everyone was so friendly, chatty, helpful and knowledgeable. Really pleased I chose them and would highly recommend.
Negative experience: I took my dog in for an emergency appointment during open hours as she had chocolate poisoning, and when I mentioned payment plan the vet literally SNATCHED the medicine out of my hand. Absolutely no manners or sympathy. Great to know she's so money hungry she was willing to let my dog suffer (and potentially die as she told me she could get worse and have seizures) because she couldn't get her money instantly. I'm absolutely disgusted in her and this practise. I've been to other vets 4 pets that do payment plans. And never in my life have I had medicine snatched from my hands. I only just signed up for this practise and I'll be leaving now. If you want a vet that cares for your pets this isn't the place.
Fantastic experience: Having only had my 8 week old pup for a few days, I noticed he wasn’t very well. The Vet’s managed to get us registered straight away, an appointment within hours and the treatment he received was great. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. Within 24 hours of treatment my puppy was like a completely different dog. Very happy with the service provided.

Fantastic experience: An amazing vets who have always been absolutely first class when dealing with any concerns or care for our cat. Every member of staff from the surgeon/nurses and care/receptionist team have always been amazing and I thoroughly recommend this veterany practice.
Fantastic experience: I phone in the morning (0840) as the dog was unwell. Boom appointment booked 1215. All of the team were really polite and very efficient. The vet took a full history and listened intently to what I said. When it came to treatment they gave me options and didn't force me into a particular choice. All of the the interacted well with my dog and handled her with compassion and care. As for the dog she was well behaved I put this down to the way that the team were with her.
Fantastic experience: Today's visit was as I expected.. the staff was pleasant & friendly but also thoroughly professional. my little lady isn't a big fan of the vets but she was soon put at ease with the vet & nurse seeing to her she received her treatment like a brave little girl but she was glad to make a swift exit as soon as she could ..⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Fantastic experience: My cat was experiencing symptoms of cystitis, appointments were fully booked but they still managed to fit him in to prevent it from becoming more serious. Also very impressed with the screens in the consulting rooms allowing me to go in with him. He had a lovely cuddle too!
Fantastic experience: This was my first visit to vets for pets having recently moved to the area. I was extremely concerned for my cats health and found your team thorough and advised me clearly with options given to me. There was also a genuine interest shown in my cats health. all vivid rules were explained to me when I booked the appointment so I knew what to expect. I was also pleased that I was able to go into the consulting room as this had been set up very well with the current restrictions. Very happy and will continue to use and would recommend
Fantastic experience: when we arrived early for our appointment the receptionist still found time to come , invite us in and where the best place to sit and wait.She then took details and spoke to the vet who saw us a little early. Paisley saw us with the nurse, this was our first visit but we were made to feel that Coffee was the best pet they had ever seen. We were advised about the pet plan and what was included. also explained about the injections and they could be every 2x2 weeks or one 4 weeks.The nurse was fabulous with Coffee and he absolutely loved all the fuss. We were made to feel very confident in their hands. we would truly recommend this vet
Fantastic experience: The staff from Vets4Pets were extremely professional, kind and knowledgeable. I have absolutely no complaint about them in any way. My problem is the cost of treatment and products. I love my dogs and give them everything I can but I am dreading the day when something goes wrong with them and I have to take them to the vets and have to have them put down because the cost of the treatment would be too great. What I would like is to be able to pay Vets4Pets some form of savings plan. Pay X amount per month so that in the event of a need for treatment there is a lump sum of cash to pay for it. I know all about the current plan but it is not what I need. Example - I would pay £20 - £30 per month. Next year I could then get my female neutered. Just so you know the cost of pet insurance is far too great for me on my pension. And they are the biggest rip offs going. Thank You. Glenn A.
Fantastic experience: I thought I had already left a review some time ago. I have never had such good service with vets before but V4P Kirkby is different, Jules is outstanding at what she does and I cannot commend her enough for her professional and dignified manner. I visited there frequently with two of my cats one I unfortunately lost due to his battle with pancreatitis. I felt so much warmth, support and courage from her during an extremely difficult time and the emotional toll it took on myself and my partner. We were in the vets for 4 hours even after they closed and we not once felt rushed to leave, she even gave me a hug and some very supportive and kind words that meant the world to me. Down to even having him cremated and needed extra services such as a paw print, a cutting of his blanket, fur and whiskers they went out of their way to sort it for me. All staff at all times were very sympathetic and kind to me. I cannot recommend them enough, however I have moved south so cannot use there services anymore but I hope by leaving this review those that are considering using them will definitely take all their loved fur babies there. Thank you to all the staff, you truly are amazing

Fantastic experience: Lovely people especially vet Julie. We booked emergency appointment really quickly. We put our lovely Labrador to sleep. I know if team could save his life he would but obviously with heart failure they couldn't do it nothing. Julie explain me all euthanasia procedure. Grand went to sleep so peaceful:( People working there so professional and with empathy. Thank youxx

Fantastic experience: I have been using Vets4Pets for the last 4 years. I haven't been unfortunate that a great number of the pets I keep (Rats) have needed to go to the vets. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, always seem to go the extra mile. They will talk you through your options to help you make the best decision for you and your pet. And if the worst should happen to your vet they handle it with a gentle touch. I would not go to another vet as I trust them implicitly.
Fantastic experience: All the staff were friendly and efficient. The practice was clean and didn't smell as a vet's practice usually does. My cat received excellent attention and she has been much happier since the visit.
Fantastic experience: This was my first visit to Vets4Pets as I am in the middle of relocating from Bournemouth to Kirkby-in-Ashfield. I was impressed with the atmosphere of the practice and how friendly and helpful the staff where. The nurse who dealt with Alfie was very kind and extremely knowledgeable. The vet who assessed Alfie was again kind and helpful. Everyone made an effort to make sure that both Alfie and I had a good first experience of being at the vets which is important to me. For me it is about building the trust that I had with my previous vets in Dorset.
Fantastic experience: All the staff here are so nice and attentive, phoned me up to see how my dog was after his treatment which you don’t always get elsewhere. Vets and receptionists very kind to my dogs. Highly recommended.
Fantastic experience: The vets and vet nurses always have time to talk fully about any concerns and to explain what is happening. One never feels rushed or silly asking questions. Excellent value for money as the prices are very reasonable and the service second to none.
Fantastic experience: Excellent service, they fitted me in immediately as my cat was very unwell and stayed late to make sure the correct tests were taken and that our minds put at rest as we were able to wait for the results there and then. Diagnosis was correct and our cat was given medicine which meant later that evening he was feeling much better. They really do care about animals here and put themselves out by to make sure our cat was ok.
Fantastic experience: Brilliant service as always from the vets4pets team Kirkby in ashfield. As many others I know my cat is treat like one of the family in our household so I expect the best care for her when visiting the vets and it definitely was delivered. Fantastic experience: Vets 4 pets have been outstanding in their care and attention to my Bella who was very ill in December 17. Thanks to the vets I saw and his love for animals was very clear to see, gentle and calm which was fantastic. The staff were so helpful towards me and advise and help was never an issue. Fantastic experience: What a wonderful, friendly practice! Every member of staff here is amazing, from a warm welcoming smile on arrival to petting your beloved pet goodbye, you are looked after. Fantastic experience: Fantastic staff, very helpful always make time for our 3 dogs and remember the names too! Vet checks very thorough and we had Frankie our pug spayed here, and her recovery was so quick this was due the vets attention to every detail.
