Fantastic experience: We have been coming to this vets for 5 years now with 4 cats. The team are so amazing. I would like to personally mention Christoff who has an absolutely refreshing manner with animals. He is so knowledgeable, straight talking, fair with pricing and always giving you options and sound advice. I love his no nonsense and fast action to get the job done. No faffing and clear instructions. The animals all love him and so do we... I genuinely wouldn't take my pets anywhere else. Thanks for putting up with Steve the stray and Dexter the ginger ninja. We really do appreciate the kindness and help we have received recently. Although vets bills are never nice we really feel that we get what we pay for x

Negative experience: Took my dog to vet told me best thing would be have my jack russell put down as he was in pain turned out he just had a bad back and was as good as new after a few days. Wont be taking my dog here ever again if I had listen to them I would have my dog any more

Fantastic experience: When we moved to Alfreton and adopted our new kitten I was worried about testing out a new vets with a major operation like a Spay. Then we met Merve, and all my worries melted away. Merve shows genuine care and compassion for my animals and I'm convinced she loves them as much as I do (and they seem to love her right back)! Brilliant advice, dutiful care, and excellent levels of communication. The receptionists are also wonderful and it's so lovely to see them shower everyone's pets with love too.

Fantastic experience: Friendly, caring and very experienced. My puppy was so poorly and my regular vet could not fit me in, they recommended V4P Somercotes who pulled out all the stops to reassure me, take care of Sadie and within 48 hours she was off her sick bed THANK YOu so much, your receptionists are all Stars too ♥️♥️

The team at the Somercotes veterinary clinic truly care about animals and treat them with so much love and compassion. They are highly qualified, professional, and always take the time to explain everything clearly. What I really appreciate is that they never try to push unnecessary treatments or charge for things that aren’t needed — their main focus is always the well-being of the pet. It’s clear they genuinely have a heart for what they do. I trust them completely with my dog’s care and wouldn’t go anywhere else.

Fantastic experience: I've been taking my dog Oreo here since he was 8 weeks old, he turns 5 in a couple weeks and they've been by our side throughout everything, amazing team from the vets to the front desk, everyone is absolutely delightful. We've had some nasty health issues in the last 5 years and Oreo wouldn't be the happy, healthy boy he is today without Vets for Pets.

Fantastic experience: Amazing vets! I've taken my animals to a few different vets but no vet compares to these! They definitely have the animal welfare at heart & will do the best they can for them rather than the vets you can get who seem more bothered about how much money they can get you to spend.

Fantastic experience: I booked my dog in for the first time for a broken dew claw. I was expecting as usual to pay the consultation fee and any treatments which I thought would definitely be in excess of £100. The vet took the damaged claw out and gave him a shot of painkillers and only charged me £29. The receptionist was lovely and friendly. Overall a great experience.

Fantastic experience: We took Albert our whippet for his health check & vaccinations today. We was welcomed by two lovely young ladies on the reception. The vet was really nice. He explained everything we needed to know & was very kind to our new puppy who was oblivious to what he'd had done & left with a waggy tail.

Negative experience: Awful service. Was waiting over an hour for a pre-booked appointment last time. This time I was late 6 minutes and was sent home without the second dose of the jab for my dog.

Positive experience: Lovely friendly vets and treated my dog very kindly. We did find the vets very expensive and they didn't tell us prior to the treatment how much it may cost, so it was a bit of a shock when the bill for an xray (including sedation) and painkillers was £520. However we feel partly responsible as we didn't ask the cost before treatment as we assumed it would be a few hundred pounds. That said due to excellent care we will continue to use the vets. Further to this I have now waited two weeks for my dogs blood tests results only receiving them after three phone calls and getting slightly shirty! Bit disappointed so far and worried about future service.

Fantastic experience: Vets for pets Somercotes has been absolutely amazing in taking care of my dog Wanda since I got her when she was a puppy. The vets and nurses are all lovely and caring, especially vet Christoph and nurse Courtney. Wanda had some very serious issues at the start of her life and if it wasn’t for the vet she would have not been here with us. Now she is 3 and she is healthy and in good shape but if I have an issue with her I know she will be well looked after at the vet. Thank you to all the staff for the brilliant job you do every day!! <3

Negative experience: Absolutely disgusted with the lack of compassion after having to have my dog put to sleep! Wanting payment before any treatment while I was saying my last goodbyes is one of the most heartless things a vet could do!!!!!!!

Fantastic experience: I have only used this particular Vets twice (usually in Chesterfield) and I’ve got to say Shaun is the nicest most empathetic person I’ve ever spoken to. I rang extremely upset after a visit to another vets with my dog and he reassured me the vets there will see him and booked us the next available app. He just made me feel better at an extremely stressful time. Fantastic experience: Fantastic service. My young cocker spaniel Lucy is nervous and reactive. They suggested one to one with a behavioural nurse. We met Vicki, over a few months of appointments Lucy became more relaxed and with patience and slow progress she was eventually able to touch her. All the staff are very nice and would definitely recommend. Thanks for everything you do.

I've been taking my dog, Blu, to Vets4Pets Somercotes for several years now, and I've always been impressed with the level of care they provide. Blu is a bit of a nervous dog, but the staff at Vets4Pets always take the time to make him feel comfortable and at ease. They're always patient and gentle with him, and they always explain everything to me in a clear and concise way.

His aftercare was 2nd to none, not just the nurses was looking after him but I think every staff member was taking their turn to ensure my pet was ok especially as he is only a baby. Fantastic experience: Lovely vets. All the staff are fab, friendly and caring. The vets make your pet feel loved and relaxed. Dexter quite likes going to the vets now, which is very good for an animal.

Fantastic experience: The last two of my visits to these vets were a final goodbye to two of the best dogs I'll likely ever have in this life. Few goodbyes were as hard as those to Berry and Thorn. The vets, nurses and admin staff were wonderful throughout it however, sometimes words aren't needed but a person in grief can see the love in another, and that's what you'll find at these vets, compassion and love for your animals. Put this along with their knowledge and I'm not sure you can wish for more. Thank you to you all, it meant more than you know.

Negative experience: We had a Young Female Vet, who was hesitant, and never attempted or asked to put our dog on the table. Consequently, our Dog was sat on the floor against the wall, so she never got a full check up. Barely looked at her Teeth, and didn't touch the Back end, so didn't excrete her glands, which we had booked in for.

Fantastic experience: Very friendly professional reception staff. Vet Mr Krzysztof Kozarzewski was very thorough in his examination of my dog, gentle and kind in his examination of a painful cruciate injury. He was also very clear on treatment, medication and possible need for further treatment

Fantastic experience: Courtney was so lovely and really took the time to explain to me about Truffles weight loss progress, as well as recommending some products I can use to calm her for future visits and to help me with applying her flea treatment, which I really appreciated as Truffle was particularly stressed and anxious about her visit! Fantastic experience: I had phoned earlier in the week to explain some issues my dog was having and the receptionist or nurse was very sympathetic, reassuring and gave advice and provided me with information and food to suit my dogs condition along with probiotics. This settled my dog down and stopped him vomiting. A few days later, today, I took my dog in to be checked and discuss how he was doing with the vet who was as welcoming as always and is familiar with my dog. He’s so lovely, my dog loves to visit the vet, even though he’s had a few surgeries, he is not nervous of going. I was given reassurance and advice and came away feeling really happy and pleased with the service and very welcome at our vets, plus my dog is much better thanks to them all. They are a wonderful team and the receptionists always have time for you and make time to talk to pets and owners. Keep doing what you do staff at Somercotes, I only ever hear good reports from everyone who visit you! Thank you to you all. Snoopy was excited to see you today!

Fantastic experience: Very friendly staff. We will not go anywhere else. Even if we move from the area our pets will still go to kristoph. Other vets told us our 15 year old Jack russel should be put to sleep. Kristoph gave us more than 2 more years with him.

Fantastic experience: Such kind and caring Vets and Nurses, all the staff are very helpful. Sadly I had to my have my dog put to sleep but they were all so kind. Fantastic experience: Collected flea treatment and tick collar. My dog has never worn a tick collar before. One of the staff very kindly showed me how to use the collar. I am always very satisfied with the service of the staff at our Somercotes branch vets. They are kind, and considerate. They always put my little pooch first.

Prescribe and pick up meds without trauma of bringing our very poorly palliative cat in. Kristof is always very kind, caring and informative. This is a really lovely and caring vets surgery.

Fantastic experience: Excellent practice with talented staff - have provided 1st class care to our cat who has had intussusception as well as FIP - both uncommon and fatal if untreated. Both spotted quickly by extremely knowledgeable vets, I have never had any concerns and trust V4P Somercotes staff implicitly because they have shown time after time after time that they care and certainly know their stuff. I recommend them to everyone - we will never go anywhere else.

Fantastic experience: Kelly the head receptionist is extremely good at her job very knowledgeable and very reassuring, helps to keep your worries at bay. Vets all concerned with my dog (Monty), knew his history and were very open and honest about treatment options and costs involved and possible outcomes. Would never go anywhere else. Fingers crossed that they win the awards they are all nominated for they deserve it and more.

Positive experience: I have not been to this practice so can not give a accurate review. I did phone up to register but they are not taking on new customers due to staff shortages. Im guessing also the demand they are having in increased pet owners due to pandemic.

Fantastic experience: After having a bad experience with another vet, I was recommended to try vets for pets and have been going there for the past 3 years. The staff are always kind and helpful, very patient with my dogs (who can be a handful) and I will continue to use their service whenever my dogs need a vet.
