Negative experience: Took my cat there with a skin condition he was given antibiotics and steroids at a cost of £117, then was told a biopsy was needed at a cost of £260, Iwent for a second opinion at an other vets and was told he had cat eczema and didn’t need any of those tablets or a biopsy, he was treated and now his inflamed skin is much better I am very angry at the misdiagnosis and the amount of money I have wasted at this practice

Negative experience: Told me my dog had to go home and rest never told me what had actually happened a day later they had to put my 3 year old dog down because he had IVDD the vets are useless/ clueless, only care about getting paid and going home do not register here.

Fantastic experience: I visited with my dog on 13th January.Have to say Rhona at reception made my visit so much better and she was so welcoming and polite.My little man was nervous and Rhona cleared up his accident in no time ,never made me feel embarrassed and even chatted to my little dog telling him it was OK and not to be scared,she really showed she cared which made such a difference.Thankyou Rhona from me and Jasper x

Fantastic experience: Absolutely amazing, caring, reassuring, helpful vets ever.. my dog has suffered with her ears for over 2 years. Been back & forth to the PDSA, & no change, one visit here, & my dog is so happy, she had a severe ear infection in both ears, they seen & treated her within the hour, & now my dog is so happy, & no more pain.

Fantastic experience: Andrew is always amazing with our dog Skyler who can be very nervous at the vets. The care Andrew shows is 1st class and I wouldn’t take our dog to any other vet.

Fantastic experience: I've been a pet dad under Medivet Orrell Park for more than 20 years since when it was a small family run practice. Although it's not as personable as when a family business, Andrew is still amazing. Always attentive and generous with his time. Never feel rushed when there, and I like the fact that he explains things in such a simple way to make sure that I understand what it is he is doing for our dogs.

Negative experience: Total rip off, £100 for a consultation and a small bottle of pain relief medication that can be purchased on line for £9.00 and was useless as it gave my dog diaherra.

Fantastic experience: My dog neville is not very good with other dogs..they let me stay in my car and the vet collected us and took us through a back door...the vet was lovely..very patient and didn't rush us..was very good with nev and very calming and caring when she cut his nails...would definitely recommend

Fantastic experience: On my visit I saw Andrew who I usually see as I prefer continuity of care. Ruby had a lump which had been checked and had started to grow so needed further investigation before removal. Andrew referred Ruby for a CT scan and subsequently an operation. Ruby has recently had op and is in recovery stage so hopefully all will be well. Andrew us always professional, cares about his patients and provides an excellent service.

Fantastic experience: Everything time I visit I have a good experience. I have learnt more about my pets health and well-being from the support and guidance from the nurse's and vets. This is why I travel so far for my 2 pets to be treated instead of using a local practise.

The staff are all so kind and Charlotte in particular is fabulous, despite the number of pets she must see daily, she always remembers the dogs not just by name but their personalities and reasons for previous visits. She came highly recommended by my mum and I came to Orrell Park with my own dog as a result and stay with them even when I moved home further away

Fantastic experience: I've been coming here to Orrell Park vets on Warbreck for many years wirh all my various dogs I've had and I wouldn't want to go anywhere else.

Negative experience: They always palm you off with an alternative medicine that doesn't work so your back a week later with another consultation fee an prescription, Then they under prescribed me the medidication i asked for originally so again I was back a week later with another consultation and more of the medication. They done this with my dog, then with my pet rats. Enough was enough. Changed my vets.

Fantastic experience: I spend at lot of time visiting my son who lives in Merseyside and I always bring my dogs with me. I have needed to take them to the vet at The Orrell Park Surgery on two occasions in the past 18 months. Once for kennel cough and once for an infected ear. Both times I was treated kindly and professionally, and my dogs were given great treatment and prescribed what they needed to make a full recovery. (Sadly in 2023, we had to put my old terrier, Scruffy, to sleep. This was done at my home vet in Guernsey.) Back in Liverpool again I made one visit to the Anfield surgery with my French Bulldog, Buddy, for a free “puppy’ health check Again, lovely people and a great vet. I am reassured and thankful to be registered with MEDIVET for the times when I visit my son in the Liverpool area. Thank you.

Fantastic experience: If I could give this Amazing practice more than 5 stars I would, as I know my daughter would with her two, it’s taken until now for me to be able to share my review given the heartbreak of loosing our 18.5 yr old furbaby Mollie in Nov, the vet when we changed from our previous one, a few years ago, and came recommended by family,with there help & support with regular checks was able to manage her golden years of doggie dementia naturally, and the last 12 months with ageing kidney failure, the end was vey dignified from all staff with great empathy shown, they lovingly took her paw prints , cuttings of hair, & placed in a memorial storage bottle , with such sentiment at our time of great sadness & grief , they also arranged her solo cremation, and helped choose her casket & brass plate to store her ashes in, they also did this for our daughters furbaby Alfie who had passed away in April 2022 , we will always be grateful to to all the staff, who go over & beyond for our little family members & can say with honesty go over & beyond to support the health & care for both our pets, but also us humans, if & when needed ❤️ Thank you ❤️ We also have our 7 year old boy Ruben, who also crossed over a few years ago with our 2 furbabies, Mollie & Alfie , who are now in rainbow bridge , sadly Ruben jumped a puddle,as doesn’t like getting feet wet, unless in the bath, & he had a nasty break in his front paw, we rushed him straight to the vet & they xrayed him straight away, & gave him some pain medicine to help him, & the next day they needed to do emergency surgery on his foot, which was very specialised , placing metal rods into his leg & toes, as it was a nasty break , again the empathy/care & support, given by all the staff was truly amazing, pre during post operation, They have the spirt of a KAHU a guardian Angel to all our beautiful furbabies when in need of medical attention and in the sadness of the day when they pass over to rainbow bridge . ❤️ We did say that we would not after loosing 2 of our 3 furbabies in 12 months have anymore ………… however , when a dear friends little one got caught ,before was due to be spade, and 9 weeks later, was blessed with the patter from 5 new furbabies born the day before both Rubens 7th birthday & mine, on 7th February ,as soon as my friend sent me the pictures, my eyes & heart melted, along with being drawn to one, Discovering later on he was a boy, when we decided they was ment for us, so it was only natural we would Register our little miniature blue eye boy Freddie with this amazing vets, as we know both our boys could not be in better hands, if & when needed , ❤️

Positive experience: Been going here with my pets for years. The staff are lovely. Little expensive, but then aren't all vets. You really feel like they are taking care of your pet here. I wouldn't use any other vet! They have a 24hr emergency service, which I have had to use once, couldn't be more satisfied.

Fantastic experience: I brought my 2 Cavalier King Charles spaniels Lulu and Judy here today and I can’t thank the staff and the lovely vet enough. My 2 dogs are generally very nervous as they were rescue dogs but they loved it here today . The Vet was amazing with them and put me at ease .I highly recommend . Thankyou everyone

Fantastic experience: The care and investigations my dog received was second to none. My dog unfortunately passed away after being referred to a specialist hospital. John called me to pass on his condolences after phoning the hospital to check on Ollie’s condition - this shows the level of care provided by all staff at the practice to the pets and their owners.

Fantastic experience: The staff always look after us and our fur babies. They were amazing with my felix before we lost him. He was poorly, and now we take my loki here, wouldn't go anywhere else, loki makes them laugh when he's getting seen, he's everywhere in the room very nosey, would highly recommend, I could give more than 5 stars I would xxxx ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Negative experience: June 2023 - My 17 years old cat stopped eating and started to be very weak. During the visit and examination which took maximum 10 minutes they've told me he's absolutely fine and I should just observe him. After two more days nothing changed, I took him again (he already didn't eat anything since 4 days which I told immediately when I bring him there), after asking them what to do they told me to not care and gave him some injections and send us home, visit took 15 minutes. When next day situation didn't changed and my cat wasn't even able to hold on his own legs and after 5 days of not eating anything, on next examination which again, took 15 minutes they told me he's absolutely fine and gave him an appetiser and after another injection they send us home. That 3, 10 to 15 minute examinations costed me over £450. Right after coming back third time my cat started to have a problems with breathing and I took him immediately to the vet hospital in different place. During 45 minute long diagnostics and a drip the other clinic found he has a heart failure and a water in his lungs. We need to perform euthanasia because he was a way to weak to even survive proper diagnostics. Avoid them at all cost.

Fantastic experience: The best vet I've been to for my three cats, they were very kind and gave each cat the time they needed. This is also the most relaxed my most nervous cat has been at the vet.

Positive experience: *Edit following on from my review last week* The vets gave our cat tablets and a syringe injection to give him. We tried giving him the tablets but, it was hard as he wasn't eating, we tried to restrain him to give him the tablets but we were causing too much stress. The cat carried on not eating and had lost so much weight. We got a second opinion from another vets, who immediately took him in and put him on an IV drip, because he had lost so much weight and he had low electrolytes. The other vet also asked why they didn't take blood tests at Orrell Park vets and why they had given him tablets primarily to treat stomach ulcers. When he had inflammation on his soft tissue in his throat. Needless to say we stopped giving him the medication and he has improved a lot! My original review is below, I had written this obviously before visiting the second vets and before we got the second opinion. The staff are good, they took good care of our little Jerry. They explained everything thoroughly and there were no nasty hidden extra at the end. The separate waiting room for cats is a nice touch.

Fantastic experience: Highy recommend. Staff extremely professional. Are great with animals. Explain everything to you in detail which you are able to understand. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff here. They go above and beyond.

Negative experience: Majority staff where excellent and very caring I took my dogs somewhere else , there was a jobsworth lady who tried to overcharge us every time and knew what she was doing And also made me feel like I was doing wrong for calling every hour for the progress on my dogs operation Don’t let this put you off but these small things actually made us leave the practise unfortunately
