Fantastic experience: I can't thank Medivet enough for helping my boy when I needed an emergency appt for him due to his sudden inability to pass water. The reception staff were lovely and totally understood my concern and gave me an appt straight away as it was out of hours for my vet. The vet and nurses were very professional and everything was explained fully to me. We got the immediate treatment he required there and then, aswell as the meds and special food he required. Fantastic experience: I unfortunately lost my dog recently at home and had to take her body in late at night the lady then was so lovely and really cared as I sobbed. Today I went to claim her ashes and the girl was really nice she took me into a room and gave me the time I needed. The ashes I got back were beautiful wrapped in a wicker pouch and they also came with a paw print and some fur. It was a truly sweet thing even if it was heart breaking.
Fantastic experience: Like all people, who are animal carers. When I was worried about Cleo & she did have to be let go off. The care & compassion that everyone that day gave, was so felt. As I had to ring back, up - when we took her back home. As she / I'd felt Cleo had gone down hill. (As I could get her to have her, tablets/food - which she needed for her heart murmur) The vet listened to me & did a check over on her heart & then it was decided it was for the best. But I thank them for being there every day.

Fantastic experience: Alder Vets is a very busy practice, the staff are consistently busy but it doesn’t affect the level of service they provide, not an easy task & this only works by great team work. Adam the vet has had to undertake 2 surgeries on my Yorkie 7 1/2 weeks apart and the level of care he has provided not only by performing the surgeries at short notice but having detailed follow up calls & whenever my dog needed follow up visits I never felt Adam rushed the visits & he went above & beyond what I was expecting, he is an exceptional vet at such a young age. I would also like to say reception staff were friendly on all visits & always showed an interest in my dog.

Negative experience: 0 STARS Our dog, Hunter, died under general anaesthetic at Medivet Alder Emergency Practice. What followed has been as distressing as the loss itself. In Medivet’s formal response to our complaint, they state that the vet advised us prior to anaesthetic that Hunter was “unstable” and posed significant risk. This is simply untrue. I made contemporaneous notes throughout every discussion with the vet. At no point did she describe Hunter as unstable, unsafe, or deteriorating. The word used repeatedly was “stable,” with uncertainty only around what was causing the abdominal fluid and bloating. Had we been told he was unstable or at imminent risk of death, our consent decision would have been very different. Medivet have also claimed Hunter was “aggressive and unsafe to handle” as justification for not cleaning him. This was never communicated to us at the time. Hunter was a calm, gentle English Bulldog. Despite staff being aware from early morning that he had defecated and urinated in his crate, he was left visibly soiled in faeces and urine for hours. We raised this in person, offered to clean him ourselves, and even provided our own wipes. We were refused and explicitly told he would be taken to the back and given a “good clean.” This did not happen. Hunter remained visibly covered in faeces when he was later presented to us deceased. Medivet have admitted in writing that he should not have been presented to us in this condition. Based on Medivet’s own explanation, owners of dogs who are anxious, stressed, or reactive should be extremely concerned. If a dog is deemed “unsafe to handle,” it appears that basic hygiene and dignity — including removal of faeces and urine — may be deprioritised rather than alternative arrangements or owner involvement being discussed. We were also required to carry our dog’s body through a public reception area while distraught, with no privacy or discretion. Medivet have acknowledged this fell short of acceptable standards. What makes this even harder to accept is that you put your fur baby's life in their hands, and you reasonably expect your dog to be treated as a priority with dignity and compassion. Instead, after his death, Hunter was diminished and reduced in writing to an “aggressive” dog with breeding issues to justify failings in care. As grieving owners, this was deeply upsetting, insulting, and entirely lacking in empathy. Despite admitting failures in dignity and duty of care, Medivet refused any refund or goodwill gesture and closed the matter. The overall response felt defensive, contradictory, and dismissive of grieving pet owners. This experience has left us deeply concerned about transparency, compassion, and accountability at this practice. I would urge other pet owners — especially those with vulnerable, anxious, or end-of-life pets — to think very carefully before placing their trust here. Just don't go here, I'd be taking mine to Frodsham emergency vets in future if it's out of hours, or Woolton vets is a private small family run one which I've heard is amazing. Anywhere but this place.

Fantastic experience: I called up and was given an appointment for the very next day. We were seen on time, which was great. Glad, the vet, was very helpful and explained everything clearly, and the reception staff were friendly and professional too. My dog was prescribed eye drops and we were advised to return in 7 days for a check-up. Overall a very positive experience and reassuring service.

Fantastic experience: Sadly, we lost our lovely dog,Tinker, yesterday. However, Glad Morar and the vetenary nurses were so kind and caring that they made the awful moment less traumatic. Also, giving us some of Tinker's hair and a paw print was so unexpected and touching and makes a lovely keepsake.

Negative experience: I am leaving this review to share my experience at Medivet Alder following the care my dog, received between June and September. Sadly, we lost our dog and during an already heartbreaking time, our experience at this practice made everything significantly harder. Our first consultation left us feeling overwhelmed, rushed, and unsupported. Important information wasn’t clearly explained, and despite requesting a written summary, none was provided. Our experience with the reception team was particularly distressing. On multiple occasions we were ignored on arrival, spoken to inappropriately when visibly upset, and had to listen to loud personal conversations from staff behind the desk. This lack of professionalism and empathy was incredibly upsetting, especially given the circumstances. Communication throughout was extremely poor. Emails requesting medical records for an insurance claim were ignored for far too long, and I had to repeatedly chase for basic information. There was also a three-week delay in receiving receipts and a copy of a prescription I requested—completely unacceptable when dealing with a seriously ill pet. I also raised concerns about medication charges. A billing error was later found and we were told a refund would be issued, but after this acknowledgment we have since been ignored, and the refund still has not been processed. This has only added more stress. My emails are still not being picked up, acknowledges or looked into. After our dog passed, we were told all bills were settled, we paid everything in full before we left saying goodbye to our boy yet later received a call chasing payment. At such an emotional time, being contacted by debt collection was extremely hurtful. I do want to acknowledge that a few members of the team were kind, patient, and supportive during his care, and I am grateful to them. However, the repeated communication failures, unprofessional behaviour at reception, billing issues, and lack of empathy from others overshadowed this. I have zero confidence and would not recommend registering a pet here.

Negative experience: vet took great care and was informative. However, I realised I had been overcharged on the day. was told a refund could not be offered until authorised. After waiting for a week received no contact. So chased up. Received a call today where I was forced to give all my card details over the phone, when I objected to this was told she would contact the branch to say I refused the refund. I was shocked to say the least. Used Alder Vets for over 30 years. would not feel comfortable to use again. This was not my error, I was not at fault. Dreadful customer service
Fantastic experience: A very worrying time with one of our dogs but the medivet team have gone to all lengths to give her the best care, the best course of treatment/action and to prevent unnecessary invasive treatment. They have been informative, friendly, professional and kind. Couldn't fault it.

Fantastic experience: Alder vets is fantastic. I know my cats are in extremely good hands when they’re there. The vets love animals and have their best interests at heart and it shows. Everyone is really friendly and helpful. When decisions no one should ever have to make are needed, they are kind, honest, empathetic, and supportive. It is honestly one of the best vets I have ever come across. Most notably, my cats love the surgeons, nurses, and vets there. They have always received the best care and cuddles whilst there and I’d have no reservations with leaving my cats in their care and would highly recommend their services.

Fantastic experience: Had a recurrence of a serious problem with our little one - with no appointment initially, the desk staff managed to get us seen for a couple of minutes and then a proper examination later the same day. The vet, Ana, was great. Offered great advice after assessing our poorly dog and had no intention of steering the conversation towards expensive scans and investigation. A very pleasant surprise. What's more, the instructions and medicines given seem to be working, thank you!
Fantastic experience: I don't normally do these reviews but I just had to. Bobbi is a credit to this clinic. I called a few weeks ago at night when I was panicking over my little girl, she was coming towards the end and I didn't know what to do. Bobbi was calm, kind, and compassionate. She took time with me to explain all of the options available even. I know how busy this clinic is and I have never been treated so well, even during my appointments with the vet. Bobbi is a fantastic addition to the team and I hope she remains for years to come. Thank you Bobbi.

Fantastic experience: The Vet's here have been great with my cat Boy who was transferred from another Vet's as he needed an overnight stay as he was very poorly and they have agreed to treat him until he is well rather than put him through the stress of travelling back and forth to his own vets Medivet are outstanding Very very sad news that on 25/07/25 Boy had to cross the Rainbow Bridge as his urethra was blocked again and his kidneys were failing Again MEDIVET's Eaton Rd Liverpool were so good so compassionate as I had to say goodbye to my courageous boy

Fantastic experience: I just rushed my little Poppy there before 8am and the team was so lovely and caring. Unfortunately they couldn’t do anything for her but she was to far gone. I haven’t been to these vets before but they are the closest to my house. Any pet I have now will be going here.

Fantastic experience: I went to the media vet tonight for an emergency with my cat. I called fist asking an advice and a lady on the phone was so kind with me. When I arrived there I saw this amazing girl (I don’t know her name) she been so amazing with us! I had to go there with my 4 year old son , as single parent . And I can’t stop to say how she been nice and kind and amazing with us. when he walked me to the taxi I was moved by her work and her empathy. It’s not common find persons that put all their heart in their job. Also the Spanish nurse Carmen been very patient with me. Thank you very much for your hard job ! This vet will be definitely my vet for my pets.

Fantastic experience: Caring compassionate vets, not the usual one in one out conveyor belt practice. All the staff are so helpful and friendly, We see Glad with our boy and he always takes time to listen, he always remembers too. You never feel like you are just customer, it's like you're part of a family.
Fantastic experience: Amazing staff, they saw my little 9 month old kitten quickly and sorted him out fast (he was vomiting continuously). After having to euthanise my older cat a week ago, I was panicking and the vet and nursing staff were exceptional. Great practice and this was out of hours too! Highly recommend them! Such a caring team!

Fantastic experience: We couldn’t recommend MediVet Alder enough, the whole team are fantastic, friendly and empathetic. Everyone who we dealt with gave us a good experience whether it was a vet, nurse or reception staff. Our fur baby Lucy has been a regular patient over the last 3-4 weeks as she was in palliative care and unfortunately had to be put to sleep today at the age of 13.5 years. The whole team at MediVet Alder were amazing! They kept us up to date as much as possible and allowed us to visit Lucy during her hospitalisation stay. Lucy’s vets Cristina and Zuzanna are phenomenal. They listened and answered any questions we had, they explained everything in detail so we understood exactly what was happening and most importantly handled Lucy with the upmost care. When we had to hospitalise her, we knew she was in safe hands. On behalf of Lucy, thank you so much.
Fantastic experience: I had to take my dog Riley to be seen at an out of hours vet as he had taken ill early hours of the morning. Sadly Riley had to be put to sleep but the vet and the staff were amazing talking me through every step. Today I got Riley’s ashes his paw print and clippings of his fur. I give Eaton rd medivets 5 stars
Negative experience: My dog injured his leg took him to the vet first vet told me it was a torn acl and needed an X-ray surgeon performed xray said the dog had not torn his acl an it was a pulled muscle an he would be ok in a month. A month later no change in his leg booked another appointment last vet told me he had broken a bone in his paw and he will be ok after another month. No change after another month asked them to refer me to a specialist the specialist then confirmed that it was an Injury to lateral head of gastrocnemiu tendon. This vet basically took about £2500 off me for nothing the only thing they done right was refer me to a good specialist. Have since changed vet and would never use this practice for any of my dogs ever again.

Negative experience: Beware of rip-offs! This vet has now lost me as a customer after 3 years. Everything is okay as long as your pet doesn't get sick. Milo needed stitches to his paw (over £1000). During the recovery process, I noticed that he was constantly licking himself because a blister or cyst had developed between his toes but during the 2 follow-up examinations I was assured that everything was fine. 2 months later and the cyst is still there (now filled with pus). When I mentioned this at my latest worm and flea tablets appointment, I was charged £124 again for antibiotics and painkillers and was told that if it's not getting better a further surgery would be required. I objected to the consultation fee in the latest bill because I was already booked for this appointment, so the receptionist asked the vet if he could take it off the bill.... no chance, a consultation fee was also due. My feeling is that the vets have to fulfill a quota per month. No apologies that something obviously went wrong during the operation. Being too greedy never pays off....

Fantastic experience: Took all the puppies to have their microchip and first vaccination. Staff were so helpful, friendly, patient, and polite. They made us feel valued they had time to explain, and we were not rushed.

Negative experience: I took my cat for the free health check up. Vet said she's healthy and ready to do her spay. When we went to the receptionist, the lady was not so happy why we not paying anything. Advised they have not done anything and we need to book her next appointment. She said a nurse will contact us within 5 working days. Its more than 5 working days and we still waiting. I will not recommend this vet to anyone as they were not busy but pretend they are and not giving correct information

Fantastic experience: Have used this vet for over 30 years and must admit when I heard medivet was joining I was worried, Jeff had always been so good with all my furkids I trusted him completely and saw medi vet as just a business who wouldn't show the same care n compassion as Jeff, or Kyle or even the receptionist, but although I will always try to see Jeff if possible I've also had my dog seen by other vets and they have been good and caring, I' still call it alder vets but I'd recommend them

Fantastic experience: Our gorgeous dog Pumba suffered a horrific accident. We rushed him to Medivet who were waiting with a stretcher and from that moment on took tremendous care of Pumba. Fantastic experience: An angel works here and her name is Cristina! In November 2022 our dog, Rudy was diagnosed with IMHA. We were completely unaware of this condition prior to diagnosis and had no idea what the future looked like for our best friend. We spoke to a few vets with varying opinions but it was Cristina who gave us hope. She helped us understand and guided us every step of the way with treatment, going above and beyond to give the best possible care. It's because of her that we still get to wake up every morning to a nuzzling nose and a wagging tail. No words could describe just how grateful I am to her and her team for saving his life. Even now, we still check in from time to time with queries or for follow up appointments and nothing is too much trouble for her. She is one in a million! I also have to take the time to mention Lucy who dispenses the medication. She runs a tight ship, restoring order in choas. This is just to say that her hard work doesn't go unnoticed and we appreciate all that she does.
Negative experience: Only visited this this vets 3 times due to out of hours. Wish I hadn't. Worsed 3 visits in my life. Total lack of care and attention. Trained not as caring Vets but to focus on what £'s that they can earn and make for the Company. That's the Company policy.

Fantastic experience: I recently brought my cat, Lilly, to Medivet and had an outstanding experience. The staff were incredibly professional and empathetic throughout the visit. The vet who attended to Lilly was particularly impressive, showing a high level of care and expertise. He made sure to explain everything clearly and took the time to ensure Lilly was comfortable and well looked after. I highly recommend Medivet for their exceptional service and compassionate care. Fantastic experience: We sadly had to visit this vets a week ago as an Emergency as our beautiful 10 year old Bulldog Boy was panting excessively and his gums turned white. we phoned alder 24 and they said to come straight away. We rushed there and Kristina the vet and a vetinary nurse whose name i didnt catch ( so sorry but We were distraught ) were waiting by the door with a stretcher for our boy. Kristina was thorough and explained everything to us throughout the process. She was so kind and we are so grateful for her care. The staff were all compassionate, kind, caring and had such empathy for us as a family and our fur baby. They done many investigations to find he had tumours which had spread and was very ill and very distressed. His own vet not at this practice had missed the tumours and told us he was “ too fat “ not ill and to just get the weight off him. our beautiful gentle boy passed at Alder and for the last couple of hours of his life he and us were treated with so much consideration and they did not rush at all. We can never repay the team who cared for him including Sally who done his paw prints and who was lovely and also Lucy who phoned me to say he was back with them following his cremation. Lucy had time to be kind to me when I collected him and could not do enough to support me. Thank You team alder 24 medivet, you are all Earth Angels Xx

Fantastic experience: Want to say a massive thank you to Vet Krystyna and the veterinary nurses Sally & Bobby. From the initial phone call at 2:30am to admission the care and compassion was outstanding. We had a traumatic night where are dog bled profusely from an unknown abscess where are local vets neglected. After leaving our beloved dog coco there overnight, Krystyna gave me a detailed updated this morning. A Gentleman vet (sorry didn’t get name) also rang me at 11am with a further update and reassurance. Anna the lovely Veterinary nurse was absolutely amazing when we picked coco up and went into detail about medication. Extremely caring vets. Thank you so much for the care and compassion both us and Coco received.

Fantastic experience: I needed an emergency appointment in which sadly I had to put my sidekick to sleep. I called earlier in the evening and was given advice and guidance by Samantha on the night team. When things didn't improve I needed to come in for an emergency appointment. I was seen by Matej who was understanding and went through all my options and guided me through everything. He gave me time and space to make a decision and then left me a good amount of time to say goodbye. Samantha then guided me through the rest of the process and her manner and approach was very reassuring and caring. Thank you for guiding me through a difficult situation. RIP Poppy.

Negative experience: I wouldn’t recommend this vet if you are introverted or a socially anxious person - staff seem unequipped in discussing things in a patient and private manner. My cat was unnecessarily prescribed a tablet she didnt require purely for sales targets to be met - pushed on me by the vet in the middle of reception when i felt quite vulnerable and exposed and like i couldnt query why she needed a tablet for a worming treatment i was already giving her - so just went along with it under duress so I could leave vet and not have people staring and listening to this conversation. I sought advice from another vet who told me this prescription was completely unnecessary. Each time I tried to push for more clarity or express my concerns i felt shut down and made to feel very stupid by vet and staff. The vet kept talking about how studies show neutering may not be best thing for cats and spoke most of the time about her risk of death which terrified me as i always thought risk of death was possible in neutering, but low, and better for cats. I had paid a sum of money toward the neutering op and was refunded quickly to be fair - so have added an extra star for that. I felt anxious at this vet - there was no warmth -and as a neurodiverse person wouldn’t recommend if you’re shy or anxious - as we need to feel comfortable with our vets - theyre an important part of ours and our animals lives and i didnt feel comfortable or welcome at all.

Negative experience: Very very very displeased. This used to be a fabulous vets practice when it was Alder Vets. I have not been there for over 3-4 years and i thought they had just changed the name but upon entering everything had changed. It was cold and very unwelcoming . The bin outside was full to bursting (sorry now i never took a picture) so my dog poo bag just went in . Staff unwelcoming and unfriendly both to me and my dog . Our appointment was for 11.30am at 11.45am still waiting even though only one other person in the waiting room who had already cone out . I enquired as to when i would be going in as i had my own appointment at 12.30pm somewhere else. Was told by one of the 3 receptionists that the vet was in with someone else snd i was next. She never even bothered to have the courtesy to look up from her computer screen to acknowledge me. I say back down and the vet in question my dog was to see came out and the sane girl asked him about me he just shrugged said he was waiting for someone else and went back into his room. 2 minutes later he appeared shouted my dogs name and we went in. It was then the real problem started it was as if we were nit even booked in fir our registration and consultation he stood arms folded and no offence to him i could barely understand anything he was saying . He asked a few questions i could grasp the jist and i lofted my dog on the table. He had a quick brief feel checked one ear and his heart and that was it. I told him after showing him all the vaccination forms and info from the Dogs Trust that my dog still had a little cough and had been on a course of anti-inflammatories . He guess dog had kennel cough and would need a weeks course anti-biotics. My dog was weighed to prescribe the dose and i was told it would cost me £35.00 . I was then ushered out to wait again to pay. 10 mins later i was asked up to the counter to collect medication and pay. This different receptionist was quite friendly and polite but then again i was handing over £35.00. I am disgusted at the service overall and im not one to write such an awful review about anywhere snd i honestly never have but since the change over the place was cold, uninviting both for myself and my pet . Not a great experience . As soon as we were hone i phoned my cousin to find out where she takes her 3 dogs ( yes dumb i know should have to begin with) but i was trying to go where ive always taken my pets . Anyways registered at her practice and just with the telephone enquiry alone was chalk and cheese. Registration was easy over the phone the girl at the other end polite, chatty snd giggling away immediately putting me at ease. In my opinion give this place a miss as obviously first impressions dint really seem to count here . Such a shame .

Negative experience: Last January you quoted 200 pounds to have my cat put to sleep. A disgrace. I think we are paying for all the work medication do in Africa, or wherever.

Negative experience: Very disappointed with this Vet practice. I had taken my exotic cat there for a blood test and was impressed how they managed without much problems. Our cat had been loosing quite a lot of weight and has become very skinny. Having gone through several blood tests with no dignostic we suspected it was because he was not being able to eat properly. So I booked his third dental clean and he is 13 yrs old now.. We went to the assessment prior to the clean which is done under anesthetics. The vet offered a appointment at the time chosen by him and we were given the usual recommendations for no food after midnight and tablets to give before the appointment for the actual clean. We followed the instructions and arrived there on time. We where charged £908.40 for the service which they asked me for half of it before the procedure. We were told that our cat would be finished by 5 pm and that they would call us as soon as he was out of anesthetics to let us know everything was alright. By 4 pm I had heard nothing from them and called only to find out that nothing had been done, the poor cat was still in his crate without nothing to eat waiting when they would do the clean, possible not the same day and nobody bothered to inform me. When complained, they claimed they had an emergency and could not perform the clean as planned. My complaint is: - They were very fast to take my money for the job, but couldn't be bothered to inform me that my underweight cat was still siting in a cage without eating? When I found out, I went there and brought my cat back home and asked for a refund which took 2 days to be made. I would not recommend anybody who cares about their pets to go anywhere near these people. Not the kind care you expect for prices charged.

Positive experience: Great practice, the reception team and all the nurses are so friendly and helpful. Love that you can book online now too. As much of a great practice it is I've only given 3 stars because there is one vet in particular that when you see them they don't look at you, I was in recently with my dog who was unwell and the vet was looking at a poster on the wall while talking and not to us. I've had a few bad encounters with this vet in particular and it puts me off as soon as I see we have them. No real answers given to the treatment being given and why and also made us feel like it was our fault.

Fantastic experience: We had to make an emergency visit to this practise with our beloved Dog, she had a massive seizure at around 4am, Thankfully the practise Vet was able to treat our dog, she was a Rescue from Dogs trust we brought her home when she was 9months old, she is now 13 , she is a cherished member of our family, Thankyou so much Alder vets for All Your Help and reassurance,

Fantastic experience: Just can't thank all the staff enough. They looked after myJRT George after he needed emergency surgery. Sadly we had to put him to sleep after he caught pneumonia but the staff were amazing & truly caring. You all should be very proud of yourselves.

Negative experience: Horrible Medivet! I don’t recommend at all, the people from the office are lovely but the actual “veterinarian” they don’t know what they’re doing! If I could I would give less than 1 start. I felt sad for my dog to every single time go there and don’t get treated properly.

Fantastic experience: Excellent practice. The staff are lovely and took the time to explain the cost to me and it was all sorted in a matter of minutes. My dog has severe anxiety but the vet put him at ease and she was able to cut his nails and he even took a treat from her hand which was amazing. Looking forward to our next appointment

Fantastic experience: Huge thanks to Adam, Libby, the nursing team and reception staff on taking such good care of our beloved whippet Luis, who sadly had to be put to sleep after a sudden, unexpected illness. Their kindness and compassion was very much appreciated at such a difficult time. Adam in particular was amazing. It was the first time we were faced with this situation, he was patient and honest, he listened to us and did his best to reassure us and make the process as least stressful as he could. He was so compassionate and caring and we will be forever grateful to him for supporting us through one of the most difficult decisions and hardest times of our lives. Fantastic experience: Got an emergency appointment with Dr. G Morar for my cat's foot. The process was very smooth and it was clear that both Dr. M and the staff cared a great deal for the animals who visit. After the diagnosis Dr. M followed up and made sure I was lined up with a surgeon with my normal practice in Mossley Hill. 10/10!

Fantastic experience: I brought my furbaby in Friday morning around 12:30am. The lady on the phone was so helpful as I hadn't registered with a vet yet. My baby had eaten quite a bit of chocolate. The staff were so kind and calm (just what I needed) nothing was any trouble, we were able to take our time with our little one. Everyone was super friendly, I felt no judgement as I felt awful for not hiding the chocolate better. The ladies om reception even gave me everything I would need to help make my claim for my insurance. What an amazing night team. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Negative experience: Have never had any problems with the vet service for my cat but just been on with them today and the machine told me I was number 3 in the queue. I’ve just put the phone down 30 minutes later after still not getting through. WTH. Every time I’m in there there’s at least 3 people behind the desk. Ridiculous.
