Wolverhampton PDSA Pet Hospital: Reviews
Fantastic experience: I never usually write reviews, but I really wanted to say thank you to all the staff today. I came in with Kat Brooks feeling incredibly stressed, and the team were kind, calm and compassionate throughout. You treated her and helped us when we needed it most. She’s home now snoring her head off and feeling much better. We’re so grateful ❤️
Fantastic experience: Polite service received everytime I've been in contact. Wonderful service they offer especially in pet emergencies which can be an especially stressful time for both pet and pet parent
Fantastic experience: Did'nt wait long ,the vet was good ,and soon on our way with the cats paw seen too. Excellent service
Positive experience: Helped my cat when he broke his tail very pushy for donations which is understandable but If you really can’t afford it they kind of make you feel slightly judged.
Fantastic experience: Great staff, very helpful and supportive
Fantastic experience: Really friendly helpful staff, especially reception team. I called and got an appointment within an hour. Vet really knowledgeable didn't have to wait too long. Very happy with the the service .
Fantastic experience: Friendly staff and wait wasnt too long
Fantastic experience: Very helpful and vets are great. Waiting area can get busy but they have fit my doggy in for 2 emergency appointments now. Definitely recommend as I don't know what if have done without the PDSA when my dog collapsed. Be prepared to be asked for a contribution (and rightly so) I did feel a little embarrassed when I had to take the dog a day before payday and had nothing to give. Did call the next couple of days and donate £30. Amazing charity
Fantastic experience: I'd just like to thank the ladies at the PDSA Wolverhampton for everything they did for our frenchie Bailey. They tried him with medication and knew what was wrong with him straight away unlike a private vet that we had previously took him to. Sadly Bailey crossed the rainbow bridge but at least the ladies here gave him that fighting chance and we are eternally grateful for that. So from the bottom of our hearts thank you so much.
Fantastic experience: Honestly the experience start to finish professional and friendly staff from reception to Laura my vet who did the surgery on both my chihuahuas. Lovely experience and reliable. Again thanks so much to everyone there ❤️
Fantastic experience: Really lovely staff and vets. Fantastic service for anyone on benefits to help look after your pets .
Fantastic experience: Honestly could not thank the PDSA anymore. 3 previous vet trips to other vets and over £1000 spent on trying to get my kitty better yet 2 months later he was still bad, I then went to PDSA and the same day they diagnosed him and got him onto the right treatment without draining my bank account. I had frequent check ups and the care the had shown my cat was amazing. He is now all better and it's all because of them I dread to think what would have happened had I not been to these vets. Thank you so much
Fantastic experience: Great place staff are helpful polite and respectful
Fantastic experience: Fantastic friendly was a bit nervous but that soon went they know how to look after dogs bless them and thank you
Fantastic experience: They have always treated my pets. I cannot fault their experience and kindness. Unfortunately my Bonnie had heart failure and I had to say goodbye. I was inconsolable she was my all. The whole staff were so very compassionate and thoughtful and I arranged Bonnies cremation through them. Please all of you out there donate whenever you can they do a never ending task to treat our loved pets. Also donate any blankets towels etc always a big help. Many thanks for all staff at Wolverhampton clinic. ♥️
Fantastic experience: Took a poorly 18 year old cat. Used their online booking system and was able to send photos beforehand which was useful if you don't need an emergency appointment. I didn't have to wait long to see a vet and the vet herself was very helpful and gave me good advice.
Fantastic experience: They are so helpful. Very recently saved our little puppies life.
Fantastic experience: Lovely friendly staff. Really look after my furry babies. Thank you for all your hard work and dedication
Fantastic experience: Great staff that are all very dedicated to animal welfare!
Fantastic experience: Very kind staff helped a lot when I had to take my pet
Fantastic experience: I had to get an emergency appt for my very poorly cat. Unfortunately he didnt make it and had to be pts. The vet was lovely, he assessed Galaxy for quite a while, he explained everything in great detail and was very sympathetic. He gave me some of galaxys hair to keep and asked me if I wanted his collar, he also collected paw prints for me. He asked if we would like to leave via the back door so that we didnt have to walk through reception. The only quarm I had was a very loud woman shouting directly outside the door of the room we were in at an extremely sensitive time for us. Im not sure if a sign is out on the door showing that there is a euthanasia taking place but maybe there should be to make the situation more calm and peaceful for both pets and their parents. Due to currently being out of work and receiving benefits, our care was free but as soon as I am able to, I will be making a donation to the hospital.
Negative experience: Very rude RECEPTIONIST told me to go to a private vet as they have too many people, when I asked for advice she said she’s not qualified, very sharp dismissive and rude tone.
Negative experience: Took my dog in June who was very unwell at the time all I got was the receptionist keep pestering me about £600 for an operation for my dog, even came to the extent as while I'm discussing my dogs health with the vet she came in and asked if my family could do a whip round or else my dog will die over the weekend. I found it very unprofessional from the receptionist side , the vet was amazing it was the receptionist who really upset me. Even had public in the waiting room who commented to me as I was waiting for medication for my dog saying they couldn't believe how rude they was about money and hardly cared about the emotions of me and my family. I even got a phone call the next morning at 8am and a voicemail left asking if I've got the £600 and when can I book in. Went to a 2nd vet for opinion and ended up with a totally different outcome. I find it a shame as I have always used the pdsa and I understand that they need support and funding, but I don't agree how they pester you for money and bill prices before even seeing the dog and knowing the problem. It was a very upsetting time for us and really wouldn't wish this on anybody else when going through a hard time with there pet, also if I have not got funding straight away I was made to feel like I didn't care which was no where near the truth, I work full time and got told I should be able to afford it. Yet again rude. The receptionist also told me to book a day off work as the dogs health is more important than a day's shift and my boss would understand....
Negative experience: Just recently found out that unless you renew your details they can kick you off there list leaving you with no help for for pets even in a life saving time leaving it to die Or like me put ur self into debt to save my dogs life
Fantastic experience: Always happy to help my jack x
Fantastic experience: Staff and vets are absolutely amazing, ing, very clean and friendly cant recommend highly enough.....amazing with you pets
Fantastic experience: Vets are fantastic, friendly staff at the desk
Fantastic experience: Fantastic vets and fantastic staff. Caring, friendly and knowledgeable. My cat had an abscess and infection. The vet and staff were reassuring and brilliant. Sammy, my cat, is back to his normal self, thanks to the PDSA at Wolverhampton. There are parking spaces including disabled, at the front of the unit. Theres also a toilet inside ( disabled too). Thank you PDSA
Negative experience: What a discusting way u treated me and my dog my lurcher had a broken leg and u turned me away saying u dont have funding i offered to pay the full price for my dog to get looked at and u said no like we were trash u said its charity run and ur struggling well ur turning ppl with money away and wonder why u have to close well big up caven vets who saved my dog and gave the best care they didnt say we will put him to sleep like u offered hes 2 years off age and needed u well i hope u close sooner rather than later 1700 pound u turned down not sorting my dog and many others u have turned away twice now u have refused my dog help every time u say we will put him to sleep thats ur answer to everything well im glad u said no as my boy is still alive and recovering really well thanks to caven vets the best around
Fantastic experience: Fantastic staff very friendly go the extra mile for you a big thank you so good with my 15year old dog
Fantastic experience: The staff were so friendly and really thorough with my poorly cat
Fantastic experience: Brilliant vets very helpful staff are excellent cannot ask for more.
Fantastic experience: They helped my dog when no one else would. Thank you PDSA!
Negative experience: Turned away a dog that eventually passed said they couldn't do nothing
Negative experience: Do not take your dog here they don't care about animals they care about ticking boxes they refuse service because their registration was not open for weeks they gave option of putting dog to sleep because of computer screen
Positive experience: Reception was great few vets were good however to quick to dismiss an old dog in pain as overweight when told he was swelling up and not going to toilet for weeks and lame vet suggested resting the lame limb pain killers 6 weeks after first taking him however it was cancer eating the bones of the limb I waited for my dog be X-ray all day and last minute was told bad news giving us little time for dignified response the kindest last act I could do was set him out of pain there and then luckily he died with his family by his side and I was grateful for that chance however a owner knows there pet when something is seriously wrong and the owner is telling them from the start maybe more listening could of been done we may not be professionals but we know our lifelong friends behaviour more then anyone rest in peace my beautiful boy !!!!
Negative experience: I will say it's not the best vets service to sign up to. They don't respond to emails asking for help or acknowledgement of even receiving such messages took months to fully sign up to them and I couldn't even get my dog booked in for a check up so.. that tells you everything. They used to be really good but not now. Not even worth bothering with
Fantastic experience: Caring and very helpful team there. They saved the sight in my cat's eye. Very grateful to them.
Fantastic experience: Look after our dog since he was a puppy lovely staff
Fantastic experience: Found a little bird who fell out of the nest.. rushed to PDSA, thank you. I hope that little miracle will survive
Fantastic experience: Had my cat registered here and was happy with the care they gave him. Also, Scooby Doo my friends dog was treated well here and they picked up on his illnesses that a franchise pet didn't. PDSA made Scooby as well as they could before he passed away a few days ago. Thank you so so much. Xx
Fantastic experience: Was great with helping my dog seen me quickly
Fantastic experience: Staff all lovely and kind, treated my cat quickly.
Fantastic experience: Fabulous place Kind and caring staff. Very happy with care given to my dogs
Fantastic experience: They offer such a fantasti, thoughtful and generous service to the community, would strongly recommend donating to this amazing organisation
Fantastic experience: Went in with a scary lump, vets scanned him there and then, no sedation needed .... lump not so scary. Thank you so much for all you do. Flic n Syd
Positive experience: Love this place they are really good with my dog.... Now they refusing to see my dog now and he's going blind exc and I dunno what to do without help absolutly ridiculous all because I haven't took him for 4 years but he didn't need a vet so I don't get it
Negative experience: Great care for my dog but the staff were so rude. After they asked for a donation and we explained we couldn’t donate today (due to personal circumstances) they got really rude and loud in front of everyone in the waiting room shaming us for not being able to donate anymore money. I thought a donation was a personal choice but obviously not. I’ve not long given birth to a premature baby, we are just managing to afford to live and to be shamed like that was humiliating and degrading.
Fantastic experience: The staff are so friendly and supportive and caring ,can't thank them enough
Fantastic experience: Friendly staff abit pushy for donations if being honest but they do a good job some doctors seem to care others not so much, gets nosey from dogs cats etc Only 2 disabled parking bays inside Parking inside but always full parking on road outside without any double lines or single lines.
Positive experience: I have been coming here for years. Yes they are a charity yes they rely on donations and yes at the moment very understaffed. However they have never once turned me away, whether it be simple free advice over the phone, a phone consultation or a face to face visit they have always looked after me and my pets, and provided top care for them. I haven't got a bad word to say about them. I had ONE issue a while ago but it was very swiftly sorted in the right manner. It's always clean inside, they have toilets for the public as well. Staff are friendly and the vets and nurses are so understanding, and very comforting in sad times as we recently endured
Negative experience: spoke to Julie/Julia on reception. Never spoke to a more condescending, ill mannered individual in my life. My dog needed emergency surgery and she made the situation 10x worse with how she spoke to me. When my partner tried to explain I didn't need the stress due to being a university student and 8 months pregnant the response was " well why is she at university then", not that it was any of her business. When we used the pet hospital a few weeks ago and also upon picking my dog up from surgery we had Emma who is absolutely amazing. such a kind individual who cares about both the animals and their owners/families. she acted with such compassion and care at our scenario involving my nans dog who we inherited last year and means everything to us as a family. cannot fault how she acted, spoke to us or the support she gave us. Such a shame staff like Julie/Julia let the practice down. Think she could do with some lessons in kindness and how to speak to people.
Negative experience: Reception staff are rude condescending and outwardly hostile both on the phone and in-person waited 3 hours with my pet and the vets where really supportive and helpful unfortunately the reception staff let the place down
Negative experience: I find a injured cat in my garden looks like broken leg my daughter is very kind about cat she try to have a look but cat didn’t let her touch she try to call RSPCA they said that will cost them to £300 and they told my daughter take her to the veterinary hospital. My daughter try to catch her what cat scratched my daughter’s arm and she was very upset because she couldn’t help the cat I need to know that what is the RSPCA for getting money? I gave 1star because I couldn’t go further
Fantastic experience: I've had the loveliest experience here. The receptionist with dark hair and glasses not only calmed me down the night before when I phoned the out of hours, but she made sure my cat was seen the next morning instead of 4 weeks later. All the vet and reception nurses were ever so lovely and they made sure I was calm while my cat was seen to. Honestly 5 stars isn't enough, the staff and vets were so kind and understanding. 10/10 will be coming back if I ever need to.
Fantastic experience: Had to make the hardest decision to have our beautiful dog pts today. The staff were amazing. Especially one lady from the reception who supported me throughout, even sat and cuddled me whilst I sobbed..absolute credit to the pdsa and a beautiful soul. Paw prints and nose prints were done to take home too. So much empathy and respect.
Fantastic experience: Im tomuch happy because mi dog maybe dead today and this Hospital tomuch helping to her.So just Big thank you for help.
Fantastic experience: Super short staffed but the work is still excellent and the staff are nice.
Fantastic experience: Receptionist was very welcoming and kind, got me a emergency appointment for my cat within a hour after the call, the vet was also brilliant with his care and advice, sadly we had to put our cat to sleep but the vet was very gentle and heart warming, made me feel comfortable and at ease lettin my cat go, thankyou for all the help and care, really appreciated
Fantastic experience: Fantastic, helpful, caring vets and staff. With out them myself and other would not be able to get the help with treatment to the one with love the most, OUR PETS, THANKS
Negative experience: Rude vets made my dog suffer and die in pain for 7 days went twice with her sedated her sent her home ,broke my heart watching her suffer, had a phone call morning after she died to say she had kidney failure I took her to blacks vets to be cremated I received a beautiful card and poem thru post,I would Never go to this pdsa again after what the vet did to my dog he was a rude person and asked me if I was prepared to spend money on medication for her awful person avoid if you get the vet ian
Fantastic experience: I couldn’t asked for a better experience. Customer services were so helpful and kind.
Fantastic experience: The staff are always so friendly & helpful. The vets are knowledgeable, caring & understanding. I would like to say that I am forever grateful for all their hard work under stressful times
Negative experience: Absolutely vile vets. I understand this is ment to be a charity. But they only seem to want to see your pet when it on its death bed. And when I say on its death bed I truly mean death bed so unless you pet is currently having a hart attack or cannot breath ect they will not see them. Despite the fact you may know this maybe the case in the coming hours. Recipients are absolutely hartless, rude and ill mannered. Charty for care of pets. Where is the care
Negative experience: I lost my 3 years old dog because of them . She was there 2 times by emergency appointments due to her vomiting , diarrhea and no appetite. On the first appointment they give her antibiotics and make scan of her tummy and say is nothing in her tummy. Then I bring her back because she not improved so I ask them for the blood tests which they refuse to do and just make another scan and sent home I was told she will be fine (still no appetite at all ). 2 days latter she pass away!!! Avoid avoid avoid She died in my house on the sofa so again I call them and ask if I can bring her body to be burn was 17.40 pm. The lady on the phone ask me if I can store her in the fridge till the morning then bring her back ... avoid discussing people
Negative experience: Doesn't even deserve 1 star. Filled in the relative forms weeks ago as my dog had a minor issue with his anal glands, or so we believed. Had a call from the PDSA informing us we couldn't book an appointment until they had our dogs previous vet records which would need to be emailed over and they would send an email to us as reference. An email never arrived, meanwhile our dog's condition deteriorated. I filled in more forms online, as you can never get through via telephone, as well as sending an email with pictures of the issue to show how it was now much worse. We had another call offering medication only to be collected the day after, no appointment as there were none available until April. 24 hours later my dog can't even urinate. We rang the emergency helpline and were told sorry, no appointments although their website states lack of urination is an emergency. We are now stuck with a very poorly dog whining the house down. I would seriously think twice before donating to these. I shan't be donating again. *Update to add that unfortunately after taking our dog to another vet as we weren't willing to let him suffer, it was discovered that he had aggressive cancer and sadly had to be euthanised. Very distressing.*
Fantastic experience: The staff there are amazing so are the vets. I went there with my poorly cat and they checked him over took his bloods so fast but unfortunately it was bad news and I had to have my boy put to sleep. The staff there was very compassionate when I was at my worse. Can't thank them all enough. RIP TED You was the best companion I could of ever asked for.
Fantastic experience: Over the bank holiday weekend, I had an emergency very early hours with my cat. The phone staff and the vets were nothing short of amazing and very empathetic in the situation that had arisen. I am extremely grateful to the PDSA for supporting me that evening.
Fantastic experience: l was very happy with the service and the vet checked her all over
Negative experience: Rude staff on the end of the phone. Young uneducated receptionist with no idea what she is talking about regarding the welfare and wellbeing of your pet. Long waits on phone lines due to service being overwhelmed. I can not say this about Other PDSA services as I have had positive encounters with other clinics but the Wolverhampton clinic needs to consider their staffs attitude and customer service etiquette.
Negative experience: Good luck getting an appointment. Everything is done over the phone asking you to email pictures in but want £20 for the pleasure!
Fantastic experience: Wonderful vet and team. Treated us and my dog with so much care and compassion. Thank you
Fantastic experience: Took such amazing care of our little bulldog. Staff are all so helpful, lovely and understanding. Thank you so much
Fantastic experience: Lovely vets.very kind to Trevor who has just been diagnosed with diabetes. They looked after him very well.now he has to go every week for his check ups.and I feel relaxed with the visit's. They have helped explaining things.on what to look out for regarding his diabetes.thank you p.d.s.a.
Fantastic experience: Staff are lovely and really great people They do amazing work.
Positive experience: Seems ok, was there with my cousin and her friend who sadly had to have her cat put to sleep. The staff were lovely and very helpful.
Negative experience: Can only offer 1 star because zero stars not an option. 2 hours on hold with Wolverhampton. Told not registered with them even though I know I was. My dog died in my arms. I did donate £1000 per year to pdsa through my tax relief. That's cancelled!
Positive experience: The work the vets do is amazing and by no means is this review a reflection on how hard they work. However the receptionists need serious compassion and customer service upskilling as they're rude, bossy, immature and downright incompetent a lot of the time. One in particular needs reprimanding. Her attitude stinks and she thinks she's in charge just because she wears a lanyard.. face like thunder. Not at all welcoming.
Positive experience: Visited here recently with a friend and her cat. Appointment was arranged promptly. Long delay in being seen due to lots of emergencies, which we understood. Unfortunately one of the ladies on reception I felt was very blunt, quite rude and lacked empathy with another customer who was clearly distressed over their poorly animal. Very unprofessional and extremely rude! I was shocked at the way this person was spoken to. Our cat was seen by a lovely vet who took their time and treated the issue in hand efficiency. Stars or given for quickness of arranging appointment and the attentiveness of the vet. Loss of stars given to the unapproachable, rude lady on reception who really should work on empathy, whilst dealing with people who have sick animals and are clearly upset.
Fantastic experience: Had to have my LABRADOR put to sleep and the staff were very empathetic and caring towards our dog and us and even gave us a with sympathy card with my dogs paw print. 5**** service. Thankyou
Negative experience: Tried to get registered online took ages and didn't go through. Called numerous times and just get put on hold then hung up on. I eventually had to go private and I'm disabled and on benefits. More needs to be done to answer phone calls I donate to the pdsa every month and don't like leaving negative feedback. But I felt I had to.
Fantastic experience: This is one of the best veterinary practices I have used. Due to its charity status, the staff really care about the animals and are not just there to make money from the treatment. If you are on benefits and need help with tne health of your pet, I can't recomend this place enough and if you are lucky enough to be able to pay for your pets health care, please consider donating to this worthwhile charity.
Fantastic experience: Amazing people. The best ever. I cannot express my gratitude to them for saving Bonnie, the collie pup. Mark the Vat and John the Nurse went to the absolute limit for her and all with dignity, kindness and an informed and pleasant attitude. I was treated with patience, understanding and was not made to feel like a number or just another dog.
Fantastic experience: Very good service if you need help looking after your beloved pets can't fault services and prices.
Fantastic experience: We had to put our dog to sleep and the staff was so great. Sympathetic and explained everything.
Fantastic experience: Absolutely brilliant place they all do a wonderful job...they all have been great with helping my cat and also very prompt and polite. Please donate.
Fantastic experience: If you have a sick pet it's the best place to go. The staff are very friendly and polite and can't do enough for you. The vets are excellent at their job and the out patient care is great too. The facility is very clean and tidy and the waiting room is separate for cats and dogs so no hassle for frightened pets.
Fantastic experience: The work these guys do is amazing, absolutely invaluable. Took our little phoebe in a few weeks ago for treatment on a tumour, she's had regular appointments and check ups with the PDSA and today had an operation, they were so kind and gentle with her, treated her amazingly and are just absolutely brilliant at what they do, no words can ever describe how grateful we are as a family that out little phoebe has been given another chance at life❤
Fantastic experience: We took our cat there who had passed away after being hit by a car. So amazing cant fault the team they gave us a card and some fur of our cat.
Negative experience: wolvo pdsa is a dive and the lady on reception needs to learn her customer skills dunno how shes got a job talking to people let alone were animals are ment to b cared for so snotty and inpatiant very nasty lady ...
Negative experience: I was with my dog twice a week ago because she was vomiting. even though I told them to scan her, they ignored me. Two day ago my dog died. Lady at reception only asking about money
Fantastic experience: Great organisation and sad to see so many people trying to take advantage of it by not paying for treatment. I get most people don't have alot of money. But if ur that poor don't have a pet. Well done to all that work there couldn't help us with our kitten much as too small but I appreciated the work they do and made sure I paid more than the suggested. Others please do the same
Negative experience: You can't make an opiontment over the phone. You need to use the internet that's ok for some but not practical for some people. Unfortunately its like working from home unproductive. Ideal for PDSA because they can reduce costs. But that's not offering a service to all that need help with there pet's
Fantastic experience: Excellent place, always at ease when I bringing my dog over to see a vet because I know she in good hands.
Positive experience: Receptionist are all kind and friendly! The vets themselves are ok can be a little rude. Asked if the injection the dog needed would hurt and her response was something along the lines of if we didn’t she’ll have to be put down. Shocking behaviour!
Fantastic experience: The staff are very helpful & looked after our rescue senior male cat. Put our minds at rest after he had been ill for several days. They told us if there are any concerns, just bring him. We left a small contribution, you give what you can afford, but don't have to if you cannot afford to. It is very reassuring to know that animals have this hospital.
Fantastic experience: I called them, and the lady who answered was nice and helpful, above all, understanding. I haven't visited them yet, but I already registered my pets with them
Fantastic experience: This place is amazing always treat my staffy with good care would notgo any were else and always pay good donation do not abuse please
Positive experience: Very helpful they have a great team when you're dog is not well they do a brilliant job
Fantastic experience: Friendly and helpful staff ...really appreciated the care and sensitive way they looked after my dog ....
