Glasgow (East) PDSA Pet Hospital: Reviews
Fantastic experience: Had to take my daughter's dog for checkup. No problems whatsoever. Lots of nice people with sick pets. Well run place, good staff
Fantastic experience: Great place for helping those pets in need. Very friendly and accommodating staff.
Fantastic experience: Lovely staff people with low income wouldn't be able to have pets if wasn't for these charities
Fantastic experience: Really nice and friendly
Fantastic experience: Wonderful people providing professional, caring and knowledgeable services for our pets. Couldn't do without them. Always, remember to give a donation. Been here again with our dog. Again, amazing, caring folk volunteering taking care of our pet. Please donate when you go.
Positive experience: I've found the front staff, the vets and the dispensing staff all wonderfully respectful and helpful. I used to go the the Shamrock St branch but my experiences with that branch had been the exact opposite of the exceptional service at Glasgow East.
Fantastic experience: The vet nurses were very kind and considerate, they have fixed two of my cats and my male cat was very nervous when having his pre-op, the nurse got him out the carrier then gently took her time with him, gave him some reassuring pets and overall I felt they explained the procedures processes and risks very well. After my pets had been operated on they were very detailed about care instructions and when giving the anti-inflammitory meds I liked that the dosage was marked on the syringe beforehand. I also appreciate how there is an online service as one of my cats had a bit of a red eye, instead of stressing him out and dragging him to the vets I can just send in a picture of it online and get advice that way
Fantastic experience: Would rather give my money to the PDSA. Cannot fault them in anyway.
Fantastic experience: Best staff ever ❤️
Fantastic experience: they where fantastic with my 14 and half yeae old dog tara getting her booster vac thanks
Fantastic experience: Great Vets, did a great job diagnosing what was wrong with with my wee dog
Fantastic experience: Gave our limping cat just what she needed
Fantastic experience: Although they aren't small animal specialists, I would trust them before I would trust Ark Vet's. Also, the cost for medicine is relatively cheap. Having staff that are understanding, caring and compassionate helps, too.
Fantastic experience: Great service, great people and great prices. They are a massive benefit to the community, highly recommend using there services!
Fantastic experience: Theyre always professional and compassionate with my 14 year old dog. She has no issue going to the vet because they are always gentle and kind
Negative experience: My wee dug is nearly dead because of you
Fantastic experience: IV had my cat at the vet a couple of times each time the vet has been lovely explaining what's happening with my cat and any medication he needs I wouldn't go anywhere else they are so friendly and always make sure your pet is ok
Fantastic experience: Got phone appointment quickly for ear infection and then straight in to pick up medicine for our apex predator maltese. Great service and staff were fantastic!
Negative experience: Shock today a charity that’s meant to loving and support people with pets refused to see my son’s dog which is gravely sick he has no income but has to find money for a private vet total disgusting
Negative experience: Been registered here for around ten years, always leave good donations, my dog got bitten by another dog,his face is all swallowing up,I call today to get my dog seen to and get him an antibiotic, when I called they said there not taken on any new registrations,I explained my dog is been registered there for a while now and they said that he wasn't, ive been here a few times with my dog and today they won't look at him for me,pretty gutting after the amount of money ive donated to them,I now need to find a new vet to go to,was so disappointed because ive always spoke highly of the pdsa, but today was so disappointing, don't no why they took my dog of the register
Fantastic experience: Great experience for my Nana’s dog. The vet that helped us was so caring and understanding. Cannot remember his name but he had long hair in a pony tail. Not a long waiting time either :)

Fantastic experience: Could not fault this vet one bit , they have been amazing with my English bulldog
Fantastic experience: Great service and lovely friendly staff
Fantastic experience: Great place for giving your money. These people's are very much helpful for your pet. I give 30th pounds every 4 weeks when I get my pip money. However, they were very good with my Pato shorts for Patuffolo, which passed away about a month ago. He was diabetic born in a car and died in a car, on way to this people's to give him a shot and a good bye. They deserve your charity.
Fantastic experience: Had my boy Junior at the pdsa east and the vet was brilliant with my boy
Positive experience: Although waiting time was long my cat got the help which was great.
Fantastic experience: A good place to get your pets health sorted at a reasonable price
Fantastic experience: Excellent place for pet care. Friendly staff and service. Highly recommend for pet care when ill or sick.
Fantastic experience: Excellent procedure cat came home really healthy considering having operation

Fantastic experience: Brilliant staff always there to help great price for the service they do highly recommend
Fantastic experience: UPDATE: 03/24 Since writing my 1st review, I've had the misfortune of my dog being ill and having to take her to the PDSA again, with two visits being emergencies. I cannot praise this practice enough! These people are amazing. I wish I had the funds to donate the actual cost of a consultation, I try to donate what I can afford each visit. Wasn't sure what to expect as this was the first time having to use the PDSA. They are such lovely people from the receptionists to the Vet and the people who work in medication dispensing. They are patient, helpful, polite and put me at ease. The waiting room was very busy but I never felt like I was being rushed through, the Vet took the time to explain what was wrong with my dog, why it happens and answered my questions. She prescribed some medication which has definitely helped. If you need to use the PDSA please donate what you can, it doesn't have to be a lot anything is better than nothing and I'm sure they'd be grateful.
Fantastic experience: Lovely people. Thank You for your service.
Fantastic experience: The vets are excellent and were invaluable when my cat Tigger was treated there. When it was time for him to be put to sleep, the staff showed me such compassion and gave my Tigger the dignified end he deserved. This is a mark of excellent care. I would definately recommend.
Fantastic experience: All the staff and vets here are great they really care about animals. Your animals are well looked out for here. They have a poop bin outside the building and poop bags in the waiting room. Very professional and passionate environment.
Fantastic experience: Excellent service from passionate staff…thank you !
Fantastic experience: Very helpfull and kind they love all animals ❤️
Fantastic experience: I recently availed myself of the services of the PDSA for the first time, and I was exceptionally pleased with the care provided to my cat, Luna. Although initially apprehensive, the team quickly put Luna at ease and demonstrated a clear understanding of her needs. Their expertise is greatly appreciated.
Fantastic experience: Amazing staff very helpful vets take time to help u understand diagnosis
Fantastic experience: Saved my dogs life, what a fantastic service, can't thank them enough. The staff are the absolute best in the world.
Fantastic experience: They were amazing with my 3 week old the saved her life
Fantastic experience: I have used both Glasgow PDSA hospitals with 6 dogs over 5years and I cannot praise the vets, sugeons, nurses, trainees and lastly the reception staff have always been very polite, helpful aswell as extremely supportive to myself and family when it was time to say goodbye to our beloved pet.
Fantastic experience: Lovely caring staff. I had an appointment and only waited 15 minutes to be seen. I trust them completely

Always give a donation when i go also euery month..
Fantastic experience: Staff are amazing. Whether it's a sick animal or routine vaccinations they get it spot on. Can wait a bit to be seen but this is a charity and offers free/very low cost vet treatment to pets who's owners wouldn't otherwise afford it. Well done Parkhead PDSA
Fantastic experience: What an amazing resource. The staff from the desk to the prescription window were absolutely fantastic.
Fantastic experience: Would definitely recommend them for taking your pets, to receive medical assistance & information. Can't thank them enough for what they do for our pets.
Fantastic experience: Took my mini Dachshund the practice was clean and friendly reception. The vets where very efficient gave information and really dedicated to the dog . Got a prescription and was very pleased I would definitely recommend the service was second to none. Thank you
Fantastic experience: Aww both my cat and kitten had a great experience here. There was major drama getting them there. But, as soon as we were in they settled. Behaved lovely for the wonderful staff. Such a busy place that does so much for animals. Donate if, and when you can. Lovely staff to my pets. You can feel the warmth from these wonderful humans. Thank you from us all. God willing we will only need check ups, but I am so happy with the way my cats have been treated. I have to say that I was given great advice, and not judged at all for being a raw feeder email communication good too
Fantastic experience: Excellent staff who do great work every day they saved my dogs life eternally greatfull
Positive experience: While my visits were heartbreaking, resulting in my best wee mate Cooper being put to sleep. I have nothing but praise for all of the staff for the way they handled not only Cooper but me and my family as well.
Fantastic experience: Love the staff here, couldn't be anymore helpful & caring ❤️ There that nice my English Bulldog Dave LOVES going lol
Fantastic experience: Visited with my elderly spaniel who has a cyst which became infected. Vet realised he also had nasty ear infection. Both being treated now , Great caring service . A good option when your pet can’t get insurance due to age or existing conditions.
Fantastic experience: Fantastic service from the staff. Got what I needed no problem.
Fantastic experience: Very professional do a great job looking after our pets
Negative experience: I emailed these and asked them to reschedule an appointment. They told me to put a call back request in. So I did. 10 days later, no one has bothered to contact me to rebook the appointment. They've let my registration run out when I told them I would bring this in at the appointment. And they are fully aware that my dog needs seen to and needs monthly prescriptions. What type of service is this if you can't even call your patients back and then let their registration run out? This service has gone downhill the last few years. Impossible to get dogs booked in but easy to get cats booked in. PDSA you should be ashamed of yourselves!
Fantastic experience: Always there to help any animal in trouble and a great charity service for those who need it, lovely staff, clean welcoming facility and easily accessible for parking etc, took great care of our wee cat and provided medication required without question. Amazing*****
Negative experience: Hung up on me after dismissing me and telling me my dog probably has a grass seed stuck up his nose when trying to explain he has had difficulty breathing and whistled through his nose since he was 8 weeks old before he was getting outside
Fantastic experience: Had to take my westie in for an emergency appointment on Sunday, which unfortunately resulted in our dog crossing the rainbow bridge, all staff treated us very well and with the up most respect
Fantastic experience: We had to say good bye to our fur baby Broony and I couldn't of asked for better care, they where so loving towards our boy
Fantastic experience: Not much you can say about the wonderful people here, they are so kind and patient from the moment you walk in. Thank you all
Positive experience: There's always a bit of a wait past your actual appointment time but that's due to them being so busy and a popular choice to treat tour pets. Staff are always friendly and chatty never had any issues with their services
Positive experience: The waiting rooms aren't divided so you have dogs everywhere barking at the cats and other animals. I was told to urgently bring my cat in just to be told that his symptoms were normal, even though they hadn't changed from when we were on the phone. We live in East Kilbride, so it was a waste of a £20 taxi. The vets themselves are lovely and I'm certainly not going to bash them too much when you consider how much free treatments they do for animals and low cost cost treatments.
Positive experience: I probably shouldn't say this, but the Glasgow East branch is a lot calmer than the Shamrock Street one! A bit of a wait and not that close to public transport but the receptionist, vet and dispensary staff were all very helpful. Definitely a good option for pet care, and it's free or pay what you can
Positive experience: Liked the way that I could get free treatment for a friend's cat but felt that i had to jump through hoops online as she would not have managed to navigate all that they wanted online... Also not so chuffed that it was a telephone appointment only and had to pick up medication for the cat rather than an actual appointment and pick up meds while there. I do understand that they are under pressure at this time of cost of living crisis with more people using the service but we weren't offered an actual in person appointment. Big hand to all the staff/service though.
Fantastic experience: Wonderful staff and veterinarians.. they all care so much about their charges and are very comforting if having to give bad news , no better vets in the town, I think they are amazing
Fantastic experience: Thank you to all the staff at Toll Cross. Today was my first visit with my wee dog Louis, who is 13 years old and was in pain with his leg. Got an appointment quickly on the same day and was seen by a lovely gent who was patient and very caring . We louis got some pain relief injection and some medication to take home, and a very thorough check up. I am most grateful. Thankyou kindly.
Fantastic experience: My experience with Carra was amazing like Rangers scoring a goal when it was needed Al be in your debt for ever a Millions thanks to all of yous I will be back to see yous soon as to donate you s are special people thanks again
Fantastic experience: Quite busy, helpful staff, vets fantastic. PDSA had been treating cat all week when she finally pulled through long process all thanks to the hard work of the PDSA Vets.
Fantastic experience: Great staff and facilities. We are waiting for our wee dog boss to go in for an operation. We have every faith in the vets.
Fantastic experience: Absolutely lovely staff, and great service, my wee Guinea Pig Loki sadly broke his leg, and we were given the option to have it amputated or have him put down, (because guinea pigs, like most rodents, are so small, theres not alot they xan do for them, usually aurgery is quite dangerous for them) but as he was still young we went with the amputation. Procedure went great, almost a week later, and he's with me now chirping and chatting away to me, still play fighting his wee brother. Honestly such amazing people, and you can see they genuinly care for the animals, and just want to help them. Honestly such a good Vet and Highly Recommended <3
Fantastic experience: My wee dog needed two teeth removed the vets and staff were lovely they go above and beyond he is doing well now make sure you give a donation at the one your pet is getting treatment at as I did it online and they share with other places so now I give directly to them
Fantastic experience: such lovely staff, very helpful and caring about your pets
Fantastic experience: The nurse was absoutly brilliant and was very pleased with my dog and got told by the nurse to keep it up and also her leg is OK and ivd to keep up the good work
Fantastic experience: Very helpful and got an appointment very quickly. Great service and my pet was well looked after
Fantastic experience: It is absolutely an essential service and could not have been more supportive when we had to put our dog piper ro sleep.
Fantastic experience: The staff were amazing and really helpful and put my pet and myself at ease.
Fantastic experience: Vets are very kind and caring. At her first visit Zoe was diagnosed with arthritis and doggy dementia and given meds for pain x she became increasingly unwell was pacing, crying and very unsettled. After talking with vet 5 days after our first visit it was decided that the kindest thing to do was to let Zoe go. She was put to sleep in my with dignity and empathy knowing she was loved very much. Thank you PDSA
Fantastic experience: Lovely clean and pleasant surroundings. Staff are always friendly and helpful. There's a small car park with 2 disabled spaces but plenty of on street parking. The wait to see a vet isn't usually long averaging 5-10 minutes. The waiting room has plenty of chairs and is kept neat and tidy. Vets are thorough and very helpful. Medication is dispensed at the window around the side of the building and usually takes a few minutes to organise. Prices are very reasonable with spaying for dogs (female) £120 and male cats around £20. They have a website to request an appointment, and they will call you to arrange it. They accept card payments over the phone. The hospital accepts patients from Glasgow East and up to Coatbridge, North Lanarkshire. Patients are accepted from people on benefits with some treatments free, and others offered at a reduced cost. You can upload your benefit entitlements online. Very good pet service for people on low incomes. The hospital accepts food donations for any animals. Would thoroughly recommend.
Fantastic experience: Great staff and we were taken quickly. Molly didn't want her claws cut and was embodying thumper the rabbit but the nurse did it quick and effectively
Fantastic experience: Was very nice to my pets and sorted them so I'm very grateful :)
Fantastic experience: Can’t fault the staff here at all, so understanding, fantastic with the animals and very knowledgable. Cannot thank them enough for all their help. Usually very busy so you may need to wait but it’s really nothing for the service you receive.
Fantastic experience: I was so happy with the service I got for my wee dog. The vet made my wee dog so relaxed.I needed medication and was at a great price aboustly amazing people. I was so happy and very comfortable when I left and so was my wee dog . Staff are lovely keep up the great work guys
Negative experience: Reception staff are very unfriendly, showed no sympathy to us at all when we had to put our cat down and almost seemed mad at us for even being there, they cared more about whether or not we were on benefits than our cat. The only reason it's getting 2 stars and not 1 is the vet we had was the sweetest person I've met, she was so sympathetic and kind and even let me hold and stroke my cat as he passed.
Positive experience: Waiting time was half hr longer, but got to expect that sometimes. The staff are always very pleasant and helpful.
Fantastic experience: The pdsa at tollcross glasgow is a lifeline to look after your pet or pets in my case could nor have been any more attentive to my dog being ill I am grateful that they are there to help sick pets
Fantastic experience: They couldnt have been nicer or more helpful. Thankyou PDSA, you do amazing work
Fantastic experience: Always been very friendly and helpful, usually there has been a long wait to get seen, even if I have had an appointment time I've still waited an extra hour, however they are a hospital and a very busy one at that. Had my cat in lots though and every time they have been very gentle with him, and supportive to me. If you can afford to use another vet I would suggest this purely to ease the work on PDSA, if u can afford to give a generous donation please do as the money is well used, and if u need to use the PDSA please don't worry they will take great care of u.
Fantastic experience: Absolutely amazing bunch of proffesionals. Who treat you and your pet with dignity and respect. My cat is 16 and doing well with the 1st class health care he gets from PDSA. Thank you
Fantastic experience: They are the very best in animal care ,and very diligent and proffecional in their deliberations ,and you can donate what you can afford or more . Most helpful.
Fantastic experience: So very attentive to my neighbours dog she has been very unwell lately they were so professional in they're handling of neighbour and friends dog thankyou. To all staff without you're professional help in helping bringing the dog back to near good health thankyou so very very much in all you're help in. This matter with gratitude and thanks kevin
Fantastic experience: Great people I know we all have to put our kids (pets) to sleep but vets and nurses show you how much they care
Fantastic experience: Staff couldn't of been any more friendly, my doggo Bella was in great and trusted hands. Amazing work these people do and recommend using them when needed and give what you can to help out. They really are doing amazing work.
Fantastic experience: Always found the vets and staff very caring and professional when I took my pet to get treated. They rely on donations to keep the dispensary viable and all credit to them for doing an outstanding job.
Fantastic experience: My dad got a new puppy, so 1st time returning to pdsa since covid lockdown. Very friendly staff, all love what they do. Easy going and ready to answer any worries you have. Disability access which is great also
Fantastic experience: The staff all excellent people who do a great job, this is a wonderful organisation I hope people will support them financially for many years to come ✅
Fantastic experience: Friendly staff, caring and professional manner and made my dog feel at ease when he was suffering.
