Services
PDSA Pet Hospital (Shamrock Street): Reviews
Fantastic experience: Had to use a few times. And emergency also. As the emergency was out of hours I was directed to the animal hospital. They had called ahead to say I was coming over. The receptionist was good at her job and the vets where 10/10. I came back in the morning to collect my dog all better again
Fantastic experience: Fantastic resource with Fantastic staff.
Positive experience: Vet was amazing , staff do there best , Gave 2 stars less , due to owners n dogs having dog in the cat area on 2 separate occasions. And staff not saying to keep them in dog area , out cats and other cats became distressed. Also when one time went to a already booked and paid in full in advance appointment for my 2 pets to be fixed i was not told on the day i went with both pets went through check in at reception briefly mentions to me can possibly be cancelled! sat down got called in to see vet to be told its been cancelled due to staff shortage. Which is fine , these things happen but i think if i was told in the morning it woyld have been less stressful for me the pets and my childern , to not be told and expected to wait in waiting area for the vet to tell me just didnt make sense.
Fantastic experience: I'm in a really tight financial position atm, so when my cats tooth got knocked out and she was visibly affected I was a bit worried about what a vets bill could end being. My friend recommended Shamrock St. My cat was booked in for the following week. Saw the vet who gave my cat a thorough mouth exam and told me she was looking very healthy. Appointment and meds cost me less than takeaway and now I've got peace of mind my cat is ok. Thanks.
Fantastic experience: Such an amazing place for people with Animals that can't afford private vet fees. They do run on donations though so help them out!
Fantastic experience: I was there on Wednesday with my old dog I want to a big thanks to you all you gave me all the support. It was very hard to see your we dog pass.
Fantastic experience: As a charitable organisation funds are limited which in cases limits treatments on offer but they are warm and friendly and have prolonged the life of my sickly dog... He however does not like visiting Shamrock St
Fantastic experience: God bless these caring people if ever come in to a fortune I would donate so much
Fantastic experience: Brilliant staff. Wait times can be long but with providing free and low cost care this can be expected. The staff are amazing patient and compassionate when dealing with euthanasia. I worried about having my pet put down and you made the whole process peaceful and gentle. The process of cremation was explained and everything made very easy especially at the worst time. I’m really grateful you gave my pet a really peaceful passing. I received my ashes by the end of the week and they were in a beautiful engraved urn and delivered by a really lovely and thoughtful courier. The vet was brilliant and the telephone staff very patient and kind. I hope people donate as much as they can to help this place and what they do. Thank you.
Fantastic experience: Had to have my 20 yr old cat put down and they handled it brilliantly my pet was very relaxed and it was very peaceful. The vet was very compassionate and the process of receiving my cats ashes and the process was made very easy and she was back with me before the end of the week. I’m really grateful for this as it was something I was very fearful of. You guys were amazing even the telephone staff thank you.
Fantastic experience: Great service here.. parking very limited
Fantastic experience: Honestly can’t fault the PDSA. My boy Archie had to go in for eyelid correction surgery and I was so nervous about him going under anaesthetic due to his breed, the vet I spoke to was was so reassuring and explained everything to me in detail putting me at ease. My boy received amazing treatment and the vet and Nurses were so good with him giving him plenty of cuddles and attention. Thank you so much yous don’t receive enough credit for the wonderful job yous do
Fantastic experience: Excellent service very kind & sincere
Fantastic experience: The service & respect we’ve had has been incredible, very thankful for all they’ve done & the support offered after my cat sadly passed.
Fantastic experience: Great staff. Sometimes it’s a bit of a wait, but they are very busy.
Positive experience: Parking is shocking, always busy.
Fantastic experience: An absolute godsend to those who like me have been refused insurance on my dog and cannot afford 4 figure sums from private vets anytime something goes wrong. You make an appointment, they ask IF you want to make a donation (I donated £50 on each of my 3 visits) I would have been double my donation just for the medication I got on the 3 visits.
Negative experience: Dump of a place was told because my dog hasn't visited in the last 3 years it would need to be re registered and they aren't taking on any more pets. They let the nurse check her foot she said there may be a foreign object stuck in the foot but she can't do anything and I can't see a vet I was sent away.
Fantastic experience: Amazing service for people with pets but are on benefits or disability. Always give them a donation. These are real vets and other staff volunteering to bring us this service. Thank you guys.
Fantastic experience: The staff and veterinary professionals provided exceptional care and assistance. My kitten's initial vaccinations were administered with great attention, and the experience was positive. Street parking is readily available.
Fantastic experience: Glasgow Animal Hospital in Shamrock Street. Excellent staff and vets. It's better to register your pet and phone for an appointment. They took really good care of my cat Delta who had an ongoing illness.
Fantastic experience: The pdsa are amazing they are friendly empathetic and so kind and considerate to owners. 3specially when your fur baby goes to sleep x
Negative experience: Was terrible. I was waiting 40 minutes for my appointment.was crazy busy.I only paid half an hour for my car. If you think each animal takes more time, try to manage the schedule more efficiently. I definitely don’t back anymore
Fantastic experience: I took my maltese dog to the PDSA pet hospital because she wouldn't eat and was being sick. The vets at the PDSA are excellent. They thoroughly checked my do over and gave her scans, an injection to stop her being sick and medication for pain.
Fantastic experience: Great service for the community, vet's and staff are all amazing
Fantastic experience: We’re so grateful to the PDSA team for the incredible care and compassion they showed while trying to save our beloved cat, Pepsi. Even though he didn’t make it, we know they did everything they could. Their kindness during such a heartbreaking time meant the world to us. Thank you for being there for Pepsi and for us.
Positive experience: They cannot be faulted on the care and support given to you, however due to the overwhelming demand for their services they are stretched to the max and waiting times are hours long even with an appointment, and you cannot get through on the phone you need to go in to arrange future appointments. This is the only flaw however and it is worth the wait in my opinion.
Fantastic experience: Only registered my wee dog and was seen within days of being accepted. Easy telephone appointment lovely receptionist I spoke to. The vet was very busy and running an hour behind which was fine as they are dealing with so many pets and doing their best to sort everyone especially emergencies. The triage vet nurse was great doing the obs and the vet nurse was amazing. All in all we were very satisfied with everything and very grateful for this service
Fantastic experience: Staff were fantastic and really friendly, they were also still Incredibly efficient and attentive despite being busy.
Positive experience: Had to take my sister's dog here, extremely busy place even if you have an appointment be prepared to wait, we waited just over an hour. There was alot of reactive dogs here so be careful have your dog on a short lead.
Fantastic experience: They are absolutely wonderful with your pet better than any vets i have been too in the past
Fantastic experience: I've been here a few times but never commented as I was just grateful for the help but today I have to say how amazing I thought the vet was today. He took the time to explain so I could understand what was happening with L.A.s mass in her neck where as before I'd been told it's a mass and we don't deal with that. You could see this guy's passion and he's a total treasure to PDSA and care of animals to come
Fantastic experience: always the friendliest, most caring staff. the pdsa have done so much for all my dogs and have saved my fur babies on many occasions, forever grateful!
Fantastic experience: Reduced vet care for people on Housing Benefit. Very caring staff and can get busy. Separate cat waiting area.
Fantastic experience: My wee pal Ember came here for his final sleep, my daughter Alison, her partner Ryan and myself were treated with utmost dignity and respect by the lovely understanding and empathetic nurse, who's name I have unfortunately forgotten. The nurse explained the whole procedure to us before allowing us to spend more time with Ember, she came back to the room and asked if she could take Ember next door for a couple of minutes, when she returned she asked us if we would like another 5 minutes with Ember we said yes and she left us alone with him, when she came back she had some chicken for Ember and a blanket for him to lie on, she then asked if we were ready for her to go ahead Ember then went to sleep and the nurse told us to take as much time as we needed with him Alison asked if we could have some fur cutting and paw prints the nurse said that she would bring them out to us in the car park, they were presented to Alison with compassion and respect. From start to finish, this very difficult act was dealt with dignity, sympathy and care.
Fantastic experience: My little dogs has had a skin condition since she was born , spent a fortune over the years trying get her some kind of help, been to various vets with not much help, and all it took was a couple of visits to the pdsa and they sorted her out with a massive difference, so many thanks to all at the pdsa on shamrock st you's are amazing
Fantastic experience: Thanks for everything you tried and greatful for the help you try to give me sadly he had to be put to sleep thanks for understanding miss you so much I was heartbroken thanks for letting me spend his final moments with him xx❤️
Fantastic experience: I've always been very happy with the service from PDSA. Thanks for helping me and my Lola. Thanks everyone at the PDSA
Fantastic experience: I took my daughter in-law to this pdsa with her dog,you honestly can't fault this place. The staff are so nice.
Fantastic experience: Quickly helped my two pets on emergency. Direct and dedicated ❤️ Waiting area always busy, not ideal for anxious/nervous dog
Fantastic experience: I had to have my beautiful cat put to sleep today as she was very unwell. The vet was lovely and very sympathetic. I need to say a special thank you to the young male nurse that was with me an Nala after she passed. I think his name was Kyle ( sorry if name is wrong). He was so sweet with her. He took the time to take some paw prints for me and also gave me a bit of her fur in a little bottle. He was absolutely brilliant and is definitely in the right profession. Thank you so much for making a huge hard decision a little easier. Xx
Fantastic experience: I would give 1000 stars if I could shamrock street is amazing vet practice if your struggling on benefits it is there to use nothing to be ashamed of asking for help and PDSA help you through what you need to bring as evedance and photo id the nursing staff and vets are amazing and rely on donations given a donation because they deserve to give help vets nurses and reseptionest amazing and take you through any treatment my dog is a barker I said so sorry for this the reseptionest sssaid don't worry it's a vets we are use to dogs and cats ect Shep likes to say hello amazing place 10000percent recommend and when Shep got bone stuck because he got into bin went to PDSA pets now and again amazing vets so nothing to be ashamed of asking for a bit of help much love to PDSA shamrock street Mark and Shep
Fantastic experience: This vet is fantastic excellent with all my dogs can’t fault them so blessed it’s free
Fantastic experience: A lifeline for pet owners on a tight budget. Professional dedicated caring staff. Helped us through the loss of our loved pet cat lilly who was 14. Now looking after out new family members Kuro and Shiro. Our new boys in the family. Give what you can afford take what you need. Glasgow needs the PDSA SHAMROCK ST.
Fantastic experience: Very helpful people, and helped my mums cat get back to health.
Fantastic experience: Woke up to my cat not being able to walk properly on Friday morning. Called the vets at PDSA who gave me an appointment for that morning. They kept my cat in for 5 hours and she was put on a drip n given pain meds and antibiotics. She was allowed to come home early evening with medication as her temperature had went back down to a normal level. Don’t know the root cause of the mystery illness but they did make her better. Shes just about back to normal now. Cant thank them enough for helping her
Negative experience: They refused me help, as I can’t afford their fee. They only talk about money and when I told them I can’t afford the fee for emergency, they just left me to hope my cat not gonna die… My cat have epilepsy and have emergency, and they don’t care. Even to contact them was nightmare as few times I’m reaching voicemail on the emergency line. They are only about money… When you donate them, you should know that one day you may need them and they will not do anything if you don’t have stack of cash… Now to me left only to pray, my cat not die tonight…
Fantastic experience: The staff are very nice and helpful. Brilliant service considering some staff are volunteers
Negative experience: Would not recommend this vet the state they left my dog in her final weeks back and foward to be told it was normal when it clearly wasn’t
Fantastic experience: I was so happy with the Vet who seen my dog; he was relaxed with her and she was so knowledgeable and thorough. I couldn't believe the service considering how busy the practice is! She was outstanding. It's the first time in his life my dog has ever taken a treat from anyone! I just want to thank her for her time and all her expertise. Thanks from us both
Fantastic experience: Pdsa Shamrock St are a wonderful caring family of people who go above and beyond to help and care for sick animals in Glasgow. I can't praise them enough for all their hard work.
Fantastic experience: Can't thank the PDSA enough the staff are great and they do everything for Ur pet so thanks from me and Thor
Fantastic experience: Great place..efficient..and out within the hour.. lovely staff♡ thanks for taking great care of Apollo.. we appreciate you :)
Fantastic experience: So helpfull nothing is a bother very pleasent team all cant do enough for the treatment of all Animals that attend the hospital.explain how to use treatment and call them if you need anymore info,or medicine
Fantastic experience: I had to take my rabbit yesterday, and they gave me an honest opinion. The vet was fantastic. The PDSA are great, and they don't charge a fortune for your pets bills
Fantastic experience: Took my dog to pdsa several times , she got operations and simple stuff too and the staff were always amazing with advice with post care amd after care , can't thank you guys enough x
Negative experience: Couldn't get an emergency appointment because I didn't have the correct paperwork, government funded charities should be able to use your NI number and photographic evidence should be enough, who the hell keeps paperwork from April last year, went round and round in circles trying to speak to a vet because of an emergency, when I get my "bow down worthy" paperwork on April, the same as everyone else, you're My first port of call, don't tell me it's raining while you're pissing on my leg.... I stopped the bleeding that was everywhere and went old school animalintex poultices and paracetamol, he's doing ok now but it's gonna take time, thanks for your roundabouts on the Internet, hang your head because I'm going to do something about this..... My car was waiting to bring the dog in an emergency but I couldn't even get to speak to a human... BTW my vet refused to treat my dog until I was paid till the following week, in 2022 alone I paid them £2000, been with them 14 years and 3 dogs, profit before animal welfare..... I've sacked them
Positive experience: Great service from the Vets all the doctors are knowledgeable and treated our pet with care, only reason for the 4/5 is the waiting area could use some work but considering this is a charity it’s a top notch clinic.
Fantastic experience: They are amazing for what they do. The kindness and patience during a terrible decision and after was genuine. I will be forever grateful.
Fantastic experience: Lovely group of nurses and vets. Got my pip his second jab two or four days ago. First time his neck blow to the size of a golf ball. Second good do far, no lump. Nurse said it oftentimes happens. Very grateful.
Negative experience: My kitten of 5 months old became suddenly unwell so we had taken her up and they told us she needed a surgery without any X-rays or any examination straight away to the surgery telling us it would be £700 which was fine, after surgery having to transport her to vets now myself, she responded well to the surgery and turns out there was nothing in her stomach which she needed the surgery for!!. A day after the surgery they sent her home with us without any medication or antibiotics to help her with this pain. She was home for 2 days until she suddenly went limp on my bed so we rushed her up to the vets now and had her sadly pass away on the 29/02/24 and once they inspected the cause of death to find out they had cut her intestine open and carelessly did not fix it which caused her to sadly pass aswell as mind you after this surgery she had needed cpr which they failed to tell me as well as they fact I have now found out they have done this to a lot of kittens which is sad as my nala was only 5 months old when she was taken from us! My dog of 14 years goes here and I will be finding a new after this because they are a joke of a “vet” leaving a kitten to suffer with a cut in her intestines for 2 days! And still send her home, they did not even shave her right which is worse clots of hair still in her scar which was causing her pain
Fantastic experience: Fantastic place, mostly volunteers what a great job the vets do,it's an upsetting time when your furry best friend is sick and they do a fantastic job of helping them get well again ,thank you
Negative experience: Absolutely shocking !!! The way me and my puppy was treated was a joke !! And there is no words for it tbh so I had him up from Monday all week !! On the Monday they gave him the anti sickness Jag bcos he wasn't eating or toilet , they let him home still wasent himself he got worse after the anti sickness, in my eyes they should have kwown straight away , anyway he had to go for a operation on the tuesday after them he had a build up of fluid alot of other things with his tummy ! they kept him in another night to keep him on strong painkillers and fluids and more medication, the operation he had to go for was a big one and they told me that week i was lucky that i took him up there and then because he would have passed if I left it longer he was kept in another 2 nights , i then went on. The Friday morning and they said he could get home with me that day he was ok after his big op but it would take him to recover and anitbotics and stuff , he went threw alot within a week ! My boy was only 9 months and also these people closed there doors on me while I was waiting on the taxi , he was just after a big operation I have took this to the manager evreythung the way my dog was treated and the manager understands that with his case it was really bad and the way me and him were treated !! I tried to get him into taxi but he couldent walk bcos of the medication he was on and all dosed up. ! After the op how could anyone leave someone standing outside after that but telling me to keep a close eye on him that it can be dangerous??? Also before I got my dog outside they kept him in for as long as they could told me to come in and get him as I said my pup couldent walk he was in so much pain and full of medication!! Also he's 52 kilos so I couldent carry him my partner tried his best to get him out for me nobody helped us even tho they said they would ? And the girl said he could wait with me in the waiting room so he wasent lay on the ground outside on the Friday 23rd of February they foned me while I was on my way to Collect him as they said he can get home i got a fone call about 2pm telling me they advised to put him sleep when i got there i said no i wanted him home they just kept on saying they couldent and not saying anything i tried evreything they said if he was to be moved to another vet he might not make it and that if i brought him home he was gonna pass away, they said he was just gonna get more and more ill at 2pm I got a fone call saying he detatiriting rapdly, i was shocked i thought id be getting him home these vets know thereselfs the way my pup was treated and I've already spoke with the manager she said the way we were both treated isint right and it will go further so no one else needs to experience or go threw what my boy and me went threw, he was a strong boy and will always be in my heart 23/02/2024. Happend so suddenly he was too young Such a shock to the system .
Fantastic experience: Amazing Place ! Thank you so much for being here for us and ours pets!
Fantastic experience: These guys are just absolutely incredible. Can't thank yous enough for your support over last couple of days
Fantastic experience: Lovely friendly staff and always only too happy to help with anything animal related and always do the best they can by you're pets ⬛
Fantastic experience: Arrived without an appointment with my 11 year old cat who was straining to pass urine and who had blood in her urine. Reception was lovely and staff was friendly. Got triaged by nurse and tge reffered to the vet. Both the nurse and vet was so helpful and was showing intrest in what could be wrong and how to make it all better. They were both very gentle with her and she was sent away with anti inflamatory and some none absorbing litter to collect a sample abd return it to them for futher tests. The dispensary staff member was also very friendly and explained in detail how to administer her medicine. Home now with my wee cat to see how she gets on. Thank you and well done PDSA for your service.
Fantastic experience: Amazing service for our boy Ollie....9 year old lab who sadly was too unwell to come home with us. After initially being seen at the Tollcross branch of PDSA and speaking to the vet Lucy she told me all my options and was amazing with our boy after a bad experience elsewhere. We took him home for a few days to try medication however we eventually had to take him to OOH at Shamrock street where Marta and her colleagues (especially the young girl on the main desk sorry i never got ure name) could not have been any kinder to our boy. Despite being run off their feet with emergencies and operations they seen Ollie and with kindness and compassion helped us say goodbye to him. These girls done such an amazing job during a difficult time and I can't thank them enough. Keep up the good work girls and thank you for making our last moments with Ollie so special and peaceful. You really are amazing people for the job use do and use do not get enough credit. Many thanks from a heartbroken family.
Fantastic experience: 5 stars for all staff and vets very helpful and kind had to be told my 16yr old tiny black and white cat (2.5lbs) that was top cat for all these years has not got long now and it's now a matter of time and just to be with her in her last few days or weeks
Fantastic experience: I want to thank the Vet and Other Workers in The PDSA for their wonderful care and support of My Dog , who unfortunately i was advised to put to sleep 28th of August .Marley was 12 and had dementia and other Issues although he still was my lovable boy . I asked the Vet to sedate him as i had had a horrible experience with my dog before who wasn't and it was awful ,But the Vet said she would do anything i wanted to help me through it . I wasn't expecting him to be put to sleep but the Vet advised it was for the best , So i just broke down and the guilt i felt signing the paper work was unbreakable but the vet was so kind , she sedated him and gave me a beautiful blanket and told me she was going to see other patients but as soon as i was ready would put the final injection in , I sat for nearly an hour not once did she complain as i cuddled him breaking my heart telling him he was such a good boy , and when the time came i kissed his face and told him i loved him as she put him to sleep , She let me spend time with him afterwards , and i really didn't want to let him go . But the Vets and staff were amazing and all came to me to say they were sorry . I'm still trying to get over losing Marley after so many years of having him , But the PDSA have always cared for him amazingly .
Negative experience: The vets are lovely and the pharmacist is very lovely but the over all service was very slow ! I have been waiting for my appointment for nearly 2 hours. I do like that they have made a cat only corner which is better for cars as causes less stress. But the waiting times are horrendous.
Negative experience: I'd leave zero stars if I could. I went through the registration process, had the cat seen by them for something and gave them £50. They told me to bring him back to be neutered and microchipped. Which took almost 2 months of faffing around because I kept being directed to a place in England. Finally get a call from Shamrock street and they tell me they won't neuter him, as they apparently don't do it now. I got a friend to get in touch with bogus details, and low and behold, they told him they would carry it out. Maybe, they're just picking and choosing now. So much for it being about the animals.
Fantastic experience: I couldn’t rate highly enough, the staff are so accommodating when your at need, great comms when you leave a message about a prescription and get it sorted asap! Top service
Fantastic experience: There is a vet by the name of Lorna Chambers who has gone way ubove and beyond to help cure my 1 year old French bulldog female. She presented 3 times previously and seen 3 different vets with massive metastatic lumps the size of golf balls under her nipples it looked as though they could pop at and time and were solid to the touch, she also had severe hair loss due to the hormonal problem she was suffering from. After 3 wrong diagnoses by 3 different vets, I finally met Lorna, who diagnosed her very quickly and was extremely professional in her approach. She put her on steroids but explained that she needed a drug that would only be available through a private vet at around the cost of £200. However she told me she was going to try to source the drug for me and thankfully within a week I had a call from her to inform me that she had managed to do so and in the space of a fortnight my dogs lumps had completely gone thanks to the combination of drugs Lorna prescribed. In my view, this lady is absolutely fantastic at what she does and is a very skilled and capable veterinary surgeon. It is, for that reason, alone that I would trust no one else with any of my 2 twin male and female French bulldogs. This veterinary surgeon, Dr Lorna Chambers, deserves massive recognition for the amazing work she does with not only my pets but every animal she treats. My dogs are my life and mean the world to me, and thanks to Dr. Chambers, I have a happy, healthy dog again, and I will be forever grateful for what she has done for my little girl . I made a donation of £200 to the pdsa for the work done by the vet. I would just like to say a massive thank you from myself and, of course, Lola . The PDSA is a fantastic organisation, and they are extremely lucky to have a vet like Dr. Chambers working for them .
Fantastic experience: Help with my Westie Archie, good advice, would recommend to pet owners to go if they are finding things hard financially. All staff very helpful and vet we saw was courteous and gave us great advice
Fantastic experience: I thought my dog had a tumor and made an app. It turns out she does have one and the staff were knowledgeable and sympathetic. Squeezed her in ASAP to explore more before making a decision.
Fantastic experience: Great people who love animals and an essential service! Can get very busy so waiting awhile is usual but meeting other pets and owners makes the time pass quicker!
Fantastic experience: The kindest animal staff and vets any pet could ask for. Was a bit busy, but I guess that will be the case when you are the best
Fantastic experience: Very helpful and friendly staff, giving all the options for the best pet care. Sadly our cat was too ill to save but again the staff were wonderful during the final decision.
Fantastic experience: Odie Anderson Our family dog (Odie) underwent a full hind leg amputation (due to Arthritis) only 2 days ago at Shamrock Street Hospital. From the second he was diagnosed the treatment and service has been outstanding and amazing. From the second you enter the building every member of staff was polite, compassionate, caring and understanding. This covered, the staff at reception, the dispensary staff, the nurses and the vets. They treated Odie with the tenderness we as a family do. Every step was explained to us in a clear and concise way. All our questions were answered. I left Odie in there care with no concerns or worries. We were contacted throughout the day of the procedure and were kept informed of every step. Odie was transferred to an affiliate hospital for overnight observations and again I was kept informed during the night of his condition. At all stages of this procedure both Odie and I were treated with nothing but kindness and respect. I did and do have the up most trust in every member of staff within Shamrock Street PDSA. I would highly recommend all staff members and can do nothing but thank them from every member of our family for everything they have done and still do for Odie (the baby of our outfit).
Fantastic experience: So helpful and kind to my dog. These people do a great job. Highly recommend!!
Fantastic experience: The team are fantastic and very friendly. Glasgow city council however have added ridiculously high parking fees. £1.40 for 15mins. Absolutely shocking. It was 50p for 30mins last year.
Fantastic experience: Great vet staff very helpful.
Negative experience: It's about time to start opening up now and have a dedicated option to make an appointment that isn't what you consider an emergency. Call backs cost money and your website is anything but user friendly.
Fantastic experience: Took my kitten here in an ermegency , they took him within an hour of me calling and were soo sympathetic and caring towards the animal. They x-ray him , done surgery in him and cared after him as well supplied medication. These people are amazing and I am soo grateful . Thank you all of you ❤️
Fantastic experience: Can’t recommend this place enough. We brought our little cat Ash to get neutered and micro chipped last week. The staff are all friendly and caring. The prices are reasonable and the waiting times were really low. Ash is very grateful as are we.
Fantastic experience: Friendly caring staff , please make allowances though for them being very very busy. Be kind they are a charity doing you a favour. they have always been happy to help anytime i’ve went
Fantastic experience: Had a great experience at the PDSA, staff were very helpful and caring and explained every step of my dogs treatment. Thank you !
Fantastic experience: Couldn't have asked for a better vet today. Best experience overall with the pdsa. We had to have our cat pts and the professionalism was outstanding and could clearly tell he was an animal lover. And treated our cat with such love and dignity in hes last moments. I never caught you're name but you made a hard day a little easier with you're kind words and explanation of things. Thank you so much also a prompt appointment when I called to tell them what was wrong with our cat. Many thanks for you're service
Fantastic experience: Had to take Gigi ( t-cup poodle) 14 years old (96) she had cancer and other issues. Our wee princess ❤️ joined her big brother Blue, The staff are brilliant and very compassionate
Positive experience: First time here and wasn't the most pleasant of experiences but that's maybe just preference. I've never been to a vet hospital where you get appointments but still need to wait 2 and half hours to be seen. There was an older skinny woman, brown short hair and glasses who was "working" behind the dispensary who was very rude and causing distress to many already stressed owners. She should know that vet waiting rooms are noisy especially when you have over 15 dogs and 4 cats in a small enclosed area, barking is going to occur and it's hard to hear when people shout, just like someone else missed their appointment because it couldn't be heard due to the barking and she was moaned at for hearing. Short blue hair person on entrance desk was so kind and understanding and there was a young long brown haired person who came on afterwards and honestly I felt so sorry for her. She was great, but unfortunately she had to deal with so many annoyed owners about the wait but she handled it politely, with respect and professionally. The actual vet I got, I want to hug her, clearly over busy, not her fault, but she was great and thorough
Negative experience: They are putting healthy dogs to sleep!.. I am so glad I moved to another vet who was very understanding of animal lovers and companion animals! All the PDSA care about is money it's no longer about animal welfare! And are putting healthy dogs to sleep! Beware of the trick coming out with the of red fluid to say it has been drained from your dog and they need put to sleep! Twice they tried this on us and he was healthy only conditions were arthritis! They are putting healthy animals to sleep!
Fantastic experience: Great place for our animals, vets are great with the animals Only fault is the phone line was on all day calling and couldn't get through then sometimes you phone and get through right away now that doesn't happen often
Fantastic experience: People here are the nicest every single time I have visited. Best of care and advice for all our pets. Thanks for the amazing job you all do.
Fantastic experience: I had to have my two 19 year old cats put to sleep here, and everything went very smoothly from booking appointment to leaving afterwards. All staff throughout that process were lovely, professional and compassionate at the same time, esp the vet and nurse doing the procedure, who were both very gentle and caring to my cats.
Fantastic experience: Been taking our wee cat Frankie for last couple of years. The staff are so friendly and caring. Would not want to go anywhere else. Worth all the donations in the world. Thank you for being there.
Positive experience: Great help when it came to prescribing medication for the family dog but very busy, if you are slightly late for appointments or collection of prescription expect to wait for around an extra hour.
Negative experience: My 15yr old dog has a tumor growing out his foot, really big and in need of veterinary care. I dont have the money to go private but the PDSA refused my registration because my paper work was out of date. They seem to forget we have just came out of covid and DWP only send out paperwork in April. So now my dog has to suffer because i cant get up to date paper work and being unemployed i cant afford private vet. Money comes before animals health
Fantastic experience: Was in a panic, but the staff were brilliant, friendly & very professional. My wee cat is doing well.
Negative experience: Wouldn't help my extremely unwell dog because I didn't live in the right postcode area despite where I live being one of the poorest areas in Scotland, they recommend I call the sspca who despite being a removing service managed to find a vet to see my dog who said if I hadn't got her started on antibiotics when I did she would have died. Seems if you're poor your just expected to watch your pet die.
