Fantastic experience: Great service

Negative experience: Cancelled my appointment WHILE I WAS STOOD IN RECEPTION just because mine was a free consultation ahead of booking my puppy to be spade. Obviously wouldn't rearrange someone's appointment that hadn't arrived yet that would be paying. Prioritise money over customer service and animal care.

Fantastic experience: Very good vets, all staff are friendly and great with my nervous dog. Been my regular vets for a few years now and very happy.

Negative experience: Allowed my partner to bring in my stolen dog to be checked over by a vet then walk back out, you admitted in writing you scanned the dog but have no obligation to do anything… absolute scumbags. So much for loving animals you had one opportunity to do the right thing and you didn’t. It took me a further 6 months of legal letters to get her back when all you had to do is say “dogs registered as stolen we don’t want to register her here until it’s been solved” but nope money is your main concern and priority

Fantastic experience: Visited here as a one off as I was away from home and my dog needed his tail bandaged (he had a surgical wound that kept opening.) Receptionists, vet and nurses were so helpful and kind. Bandaged his tail up really nicely (which can be tricky!) and it has stayed on, despite the wagging. He has hardly tried to get to the bandage so it must be far more comfortable. :) Thank you everyone. Love from Lucie and Ralph (banana-bum!!!)

Fantastic experience: We've used this practice for 3 years, but just want to post a special review because the team saved my dog's life this week He suddenly became extremely ill and needed major surgery, they acted quickly and saved him even though it wasn't certain that he'd make it, and the ongoing care has been fantastic. We always find the team friendly, clear, and upfront about costs, and our dog loves them. Huge thanks to Alistair, Chloe, Molly, and the nursing team for looking after our boy this week

Negative experience: Frustrating experience at Vets4Pets. I called to inquire about getting my 7-month-old cat microchipped, flead, and possibly vaccinated. After providing all the details, including my cat's exact birth date, I was told the £85 kitten pack would be the best option as it included microchipping, vaccinations, and flea/worm treatments. I mentioned I wasn’t sure about vaccinations, but they assured me I could decide on the day. At reception, I mentioned I’d found free microchipping elsewhere and asked for the price without it. They said it would cost £65 just for the vaccinations, I was encouraged to stick with the kitten pack, which made sense to save money and hassle. In the treatment room, after the treatments were done, the vet told the nurse my cat wasn’t eligible for the kitten pack because he was over 4kg and 7 months old. This was the first time I’d heard of any restrictions. When I pointed out that I was told I was eligible, the nurse seemed annoyed. In the end, I paid £95.10. I felt misled. Receptionist told me multiple times I was fine to get the kitten pack but nurse and vet said otherwise after the treatment had been completed. Staff didn’t communicate with each other, and as a customer, I shouldn’t have to deal with their lack of coordination. I left feeling overcharged and disappointed.

Fantastic experience: Nice vets where I take my senior dog. Recently had a dental procedure done and happy with the results. Nurses, vet and receptionists all nice and helpful. thank you!

Negative experience: Long story but being charged twice for a prescription covering the same treatment and period

Negative experience: Also just experienced the rude receptionist. Despite being insured with a big national insurance company they said, very abruptly, I have to wait at least 3 weeks for them to click the button for it to be processed. The emergency vet we used whilst on holiday were able to do this in a matter of days. Prices have also significantly hiked up. Will be finding a local practice in future.

Negative experience: Horrible experience, staff were incredibly rude and unhelpful. It's clear to me that this practice only cares about money. TAKE YOUR PETS TO A LOCAL VET!!

Negative experience: Unfortunately have to cancel with vets4pets after hearing how horribly they treated my neighbour. Been thinking about changing as vets4pets prices have gone up. I’m horrified to listen how rude the receptionists are and the lack of empathy. Clearly only care about money and profits. Moving to a local vets who are kinder.

Negative experience: Horrible practice!!! All they care about is money. Do not bring your pets here. They care more about profits than the wellbeing of your furry family. Rude receptionist and even more rude vets. 0 stars if I could

Fantastic experience: Absolutely fantastic took my 8 week old puppy for her jabs they did a fantastic job she never felt a thing

Negative experience: Rude receptionist, just phoned up to ask for advice and possibly register with them, asked if they work with “Animal Friends” insurance (one of the biggest) and they said no, we’d have to pay then claim back which is fine but when I said ok we’ll leave it and have a look at other places the woman literally just said “ok” then slammed the phone down! Very rude, despite other people we know recommending them I certainly DONT!

Positive experience: Doctors are very nice, and they are kind to my pets,very patient .

Negative experience: Complete lack of sympathy or care from the receptionist when my dog (who was a patient with them since 2016) passed away. While the vets themselves were always great, I can't recommend this practice as they made a difficult time even harder, for no reason.

Fantastic experience: As my pup is now getting older I had a concern about her which I discussed with the vet. She suggested a course of action which seemed sensible and we proceeded with that. Thankfully it would seem my dog is fine (but perhaps a little attention seeking ).

Fantastic experience: I have three pets registered here and have always had a good experience. Staff are so wonderful and friendly with them, give great advice and have frequently sorted things at the last minute (whether it's an emergency appointment or flea and worming treatment). I especially want to thank the receptionists Emma and Charlotte, who have been so helpful, and there's a couple of vets who have treated my cat who are fantastic (I can't remember names, but one is a Scottish guy). I've been registered at other vet practices previously (I first changed to one nearer, then moved away to a different city) and this is the best one I've dealt with by far. Sign your animals up here!!

Fantastic experience: I was able to see a vet within a couple of hours of ringing. The vet I saw was very reassuring and explained the initial diagnosis plus the next step if no improvement after 48 hours. Initial diagnosis was correct and my pet recovered!

Separate seating area for people with dogs and cats. Parking available in the small car park just at the end of the row of shops (next to the wine shop).

Fantastic experience: I couldn't rate this vets highly enough. I needed to change vets so researched several practices and chose this one because of the good reviews but also from the bios on their website. The vets had worked at this practice for a number of years and appeared dedicated to their jobs. I really needed my cat to see the same vet at follow-up visits to ensure consistency and I had to feel happy and comfortable that my cat was getting a high level of care. Millhouses Vets4Pets did not disappoint. We saw Alistair on every visit and all my wishes came true. Alistair was very caring and attentive, he read through all my cat's history prior to seeing him, he considered several different reasons for my cat's weight loss and explained everything thoroughly. I really feel that I was listened to and that we were not rushed out of the consulting room. Alistair gave options for various avenues of treatment, but suggested the easiest and cheapest way first to avoid unnecessary expense and the least discomfort for my cat, which I was surprised at but very grateful for, as this hadn't always been my previous experience with another vet practice charging premium rates for not always necessary tests and treatments. Two months later my cat has regained the 1kg in weight that he lost and is a much happier cat. My only gripe is that I didn't swap vets a long time ago. I would honestly highly recommend Vets4Pets Millhouses without reservation. The reception staff were professional and friendly, the practice was very clean and organised, there is a good amount of parking next to the practice and Alistair couldn't have been nicer. At the end of the day I came away happy that my cat had got better and that the all round experience was very positive. I will definitely keep this practice as our regular vets in the future. Fantastic experience: A superb vets practice full of kind and caring staff. We unfortunately had to have our hamster put to sleep here (due to illness in old age) and the team were very kind and caring and considerate in the language chosen. We also recieved a handwritten card after the loss and a little packet of forget me nots which I thought was a lovely gesture. Our cat had his jabs here, and the process was made easy and they tried to help calm nerves from both cat and owner.

Fantastic experience: The treatment from the outset I cannot fault, we went to a different vets before hand, and myself and my furbaby really didn't feel right.. My little lady felt great with the staff at millhouses Sheffield right from entering and meeting reception staff.. They gave my baby the most amazing treatment and love like she was their own... She was spayed on the 1st June 22..she is healing amazing, and I put it down to the care she had... If you ever need a vet please go to vets 4 pets I couldn't have wished for better xxx

Fantastic experience: I met Alistair (vet) with my lovely dog Mr Darcy. He has been diagnosed with throat cancer - he was so compassionate and caring towards both Mr Darcy and with me - reassuring - balanced - caring - informative. Everything I could have asked for given how upsetting the news had been. I really understand the prognosis and what the medicine (a steroid) will do for Darcy.

Prompt appointments, very little to no waiting upon arrival, great deals like "vac for life", friendly staff and when the worst happens and it's time for a pet to be put to sleep they are understanding and compassionate. Have been coming here for about 10 years now and have never had a bad experience.

She was thoroughly lovely, so caring, utterly professional keeping in touch with us to update us and we felt our little one was in safe hands with her. Fantastic experience: Perfect experience of taking my two dogs to the vet.

Fantastic experience: This is our 3rd dog we have used this practice with over the past 15 years, we are very happy with there care from the reception staff up to the vets we have been treated with professionalism and they clearly care for our pets. We used the service 1 week ago to have our labrador dog spayed and have been extremely impressed by the care given for the price payed.

Positive experience: The vet was great as was the receptionist who was on duty at the time, only reason for marking a 3 star is because not all the receptionists are that helpful also this particular practice do not offer the puppy complete care package or NHS discounts

Fantastic experience: Very impressed with the reception staff, I called late morning to explain our ‘Elvis’ Was not well at all, receptionist asked me his symptoms and booked an appointment for a fews hours later. Once we saw the vet she was very knowledgeable and knew exactly what the problem was after doing a few checks. She gave him some medicine and told us that should do the trick and sure enough 12 hours later ‘Elvis’ was eating, drinking and jumping around, back to normal again. Thank you so much, great experience all round!

Fantastic experience: Friendly staff and overall solid experience. We took two gerbils there for a routine checkup. It was well organised, with Covid restrictions still in place. The vet allowed my daughter and me to come in, wearing masks. They answered questions about gerbils and provided advice too. In the end, they didn't charge us.

Fantastic experience: New to the whole veterinary experience with a new pup. From booking through to the appointment for her first jabs, communication was excellent and the appointment even though done over a phone for COVID reasons was excellent.

Fantastic experience: I think pet fees for vets anywhere in UK is very expensive not specific to this vets for pets. £100 for ear infection visit is expensive when you relate if I had private GP and perscription it would be cheaper. I think vet fees are too expensive overall and wholly needs an industry watch dog. Not blaming vets 4 pets as this is the same everywhere but I do feel that £25 visit fee and perscription medicine £20 would be reasonable. Why not be an entrepreneur look at your business model buying power and adopt a change to affordable pet care and you will double branches and rule UK as no 1

Fantastic experience: This was the 1st time I brought my pet to see a vet. The consultation was done over the phone due to covid restrictions. The service was commendable from both the vet and reception staff. Everything was explained throughly. The vet answered all my questions and put my anxiety at ease. Liaising with the reception team was equally as easy and pleasurable. I look forward to seeing them again. I believe my pet is in very capable hands. Oh and also I found the cost aspect very economical and manageable. Not at all expensive for what I was getting. Really good job vets 4 pets. Gold star from me.
