Fantastic experience: Felt confident about this vets after our first visit

Negative experience: Tbh I've always been delighted with this practice, even though their prices go up more often than my electric bill, until I needed out of hours care. Before mars bought them they did their own, it's now "vets now". They're all about the money, they won't even entertain a badly injured dog until you've paid them £300 and meanwhile our dog was unnecessarily in pain because their card machine was acting up. Then the prices just got more and more ridiculous... not content with the best part of 4 grand, that we had to pay up front, they wanted another £40 to fill out the insurance form, and even then they couldn't do it in a timely manner and I kept getting emails from my provider saying they still hadn't received the claim form back from them.. my advice would be to register at another, caring, proactive that still does out of hours.

Fantastic experience: Really, really impressed with Peak Vets. Over the last couple of days I have been looking after my neighbours cat whilst they were away. One of their cats has been critically unwell and they were aware of the risk leaving him but had no options to stay. We had to contact Peak who saw him the same day. He had a history with Peak and all the team were brilliant. I had to take him back the very next day at the Vet’s request. At this point they wanted to admit him so he could be monitored. One of the factors about the cats health was to do with his failing liver. He had to go to a specialist vet in Wakefield and they organised it all with them. I was so impressed with the team and the practice that I signed up my two adoptee cats . I feel so secure knowing their approach to care will be exemplary. They have yet to meet the brother and sister cats we have, and the sister can be very resistant to being prodded and poked if ever needed. However, I have the upmost trust in their abilities to care

Fantastic experience: All my experiences here have been positive. All staff have been very welcoming and I believe have done their best for my dog. Above all, they've been sensitive to his special needs. Would highly recommend.

Positive experience: Great vets but communication and reminder notifications are non existent leading to greater bills when vaccinations are missed.

Fantastic experience: I have found Peak Vets to be efficient, polite, friendly and I feel listened to. My dog is greeted by name so although she stresses about being there they do their best to make her feel comfortable. I have been able to get an appointment at short notice and the choice of times for appointments is brilliant I can't praise them enough.

Vet Madeleine is excellent; absolutely trust her professional expertise re our rescue GSD, who is our absolutely adored treasure. And despite the current climate of concerns over high vet bills, we were shocked at the excellent value for money… happily delighted that the bill was a fraction of what we anticipated! I found Peak Vets after a Google search and decided to give them a go after reading all the positive reviews. All I can say is I now totally understand why they have so many positive reviews. Isobel the vet listened to all our concerns about our Frenchie and give brilliant advice, she gave her a full in depth health check, offered different treatment options to suit her needs. I definitely made the right decision to move her to Peak Vets. I would highly recommend this practice to any pet owners who what the 5* treatment for there pets. Positive experience: I was a customer for a short time as unfortunately my senior cat grew very sick not long after adotption. Peak Vets and all their staff I interacted with were delightful and very supportive throughout our experiance. Sadly, my cat was recently put to sleep as the illness got too much for her. The staff were wonderful and sensitive, highly recommend. They were truly worth everything we put into it.

Fantastic experience: I took my dog in for spaying, and she was well looked after rom start to finish. I was well informed of what was going to happen and the complications that may arise. Luckily there was none! The staff were very friendly and offered advice at each appointment and clear instructions on how to look after my dog once we got home.

Although prices of prescriptions can be higher than online, they are always fair with charges. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them and will continue to use Peak Vets.

Fantastic experience: This review is detailed, lengthy, and well deserved! I have had poor experiences with vets previously, and I could not be happier with the service provided at Peak Vets. I have recommended them to several people. One of my pets passed away suddenly from a freak cardiac incident this week whilst under the care of a cattery (I was on business travel). He was only 2 years old, and I was devastated. The cattery staff contacted Peak and they sorted everything out whilst I was away. I was really touched. The staff at Peak Vets made a really awful time easier for me, taking fur clippings and paw prints when I was away. They dealt with it perfectly, reassuring me it wasn’t my fault and there was nothing I could’ve done - it felt like they truly understood my pain, the emotions I was feeling, the guilt, and I felt that they loved my cat as much as I did. The whole team, vets, nurses, and reception staff comforted me with so much empathy and compassion, gave me a hug, offered me a cup of tea, and I felt really grateful that it was them who handled the situation, and who are there for my other 2 fur babies. All of their vets are friendly, practical, incredibly knowledgable, compassionate, and understanding, and are always non-judgemental with regards to financial constraints around pet care - as someone with limited disposable income, I cannot express how much this is appreciated, to feel supported in decision making. I have never felt like they are financially motivated at Peak Vets, and they will explain honestly the benefits of certain diagnostics/treatments - and tell you if it’s actually worth doing. This is very refreshing opposed to other practices who will encourage unnecessary screenings or medications with limited benefits to increase charges. The reception staff are equally as good - very kind, warm, and friendly. Specific advantages I’ve noticed since being with Peak are the Pet Health for Life plan, which is incredibly good value for money - 2x vet visits a year, 2x nurse visits a year, all flea/worm/tick treatment, and annual boosters as a package for £16/mo. They will also see 2 cats at once for appointments to help manage consultation costs; and they do a blood panel as a precaution, as routine before any procedure requiring anaesthetic - other practices will only do this for older pets or those with pre-existing conditions. It’s the small touches such as these that show the care that goes into the service and the absence of profit motive, I truly believe they are driven by genuine care for their patients. Thank you for looking after my cats, I feel like they are in incredibly safe hands, and anyone reading this review should have absolutely zero hesitancies signing up or swapping over to Peak.

I’ve experienced a few vets and this is the best one I’ve been to with my pets. The staff are so attentive and friendly and welcoming to all pets, we recently had to put our dog to sleep and they were so lovely and non pressuring regarding payments of services etc, I want to thank all of the staff your all amazing, carry on doing what you do and don’t look anywhere else if your in need of a vets.

Fantastic experience: Having moved to Sheffield recently we hadn’t got round to registering at a vet. Our 18 year old cat was taken Ill and started to fit continuously, it was unbearable to watch. Peak were due to close but agreed to wait for us. James was so thorough and his knowledge and compassion was such a comfort when deciding to let Tink go. All of the Peak staff were so kind and genuine. When we feel that it is time to welcome another furry friend we will definitely use Peak vets.

Fantastic experience: Unfortunately we've been here a lot with our 2 cats so seen various vets and nurses. Everyone has been really friendly, knowledgeable and patient (with us and the cats!). For one of our cats with a chronic issue we even got free advice over email rather than stress him out bringing him for an appointment. It's great that they are open later and often have emergency on the day appointments too so it's quite easy to get an appointment that works around life. Reception can get really busy and there can be a wait to be seen at reception or phone call answered at busy times but that's to be expected.

Fantastic experience: Honestly the best vet practice ever!! They’ve looked after my cat, Jasper, so well after a bad experience at another Sheffield practice. Becky the vet is so patient and kind, and so knowledgable. All of the vet nurses have answered every question I have, they are genuinely just a phone call away for anything no matter how big or small. As soon as you enter the practice the staff are present and giving out lots of treats. Honestly, just amazing. Couldn’t rate higher if I tried.

Fantastic experience: I've gone to peak vets for years they're a very knowledgeable team and always very friendly some say they're a bit pricey but what vets aren't and unfortunately neither of my Cats are insured.

Negative experience: While I cannot fault Peak Vets for the care of my kitten, I have to remove her from their care. I won't go in to this here but I am in contact with the RCVS regarding another issue. I have no doubt they care for the animals in their care; their owners, however, I don't have full confidence they respect. There are many vetinary clinics to choose from and I'm sure you'll be fine with Peak Vets, but I'll be choosing someone else; just in case.

Fantastic experience: It’s always stressful to take your pet to see the vet but it’s as good as possible here. Appointments were very convenient and from a warm welcome to a good consultation with Vicky the vet our dog was looked after very well. Everything was explained and there was minimal stress for the dog and us as worried owners.

Fantastic experience: Reception area was welcoming and clean, receptionist very polite and friendly and the vet herself was brilliant with him, first time at peak vets and he’s not had a great experience with previous vets so to say he laid down on the table of his own choice is a major plus point, the vet answered all questions and explained more about the annual plan which we are on, gave my dog treats to try and calm him down, already recommended peak vets to a neighbour who’s about to get a rescue dog!

They let us see our baby girl and they were so caring and understanding. I think the lady we saw was Nicole. She was fantastic with us. Nothing was too much trouble and we didn't feel rushed. Negative experience: Very expensive. Hidden costs added to consultation which were unnecessary even after being told the price at the time of booking. Consultation cost almost double amount for the same thing 8 months previous. Disappointing

Negative experience: We joined Peak vets after moving to Sheffield just over a year ago and since then we have spent thousands on treatment for our two dogs. In general, the individual vets and reception staff are very lovely to deal with and seem knowledgeable, but I’m writing this review because after the death of Our oldest dog at the weekend, we did not have a good experience there yesterday. Unfortunately we were on holiday when our dog suddenly passed away, and she was taken to Peak vets by our neighbour on Sunday. I called the vets first thing and made them aware that our neighbour would be bringing our dog in and gave all the details, I stress that we had not been there at the time and that we wanted to see her one last time as soon as we got home. The receptionist straightaway said she would not recommend this, with no real appreciation of how important it was for us to say a proper goodbye. When our neighbour got there on Sunday, the receptionist apparently asked her what they should do with the body and whether the dog should be cremated. My neighbour very firmly said that they were not to do anything because we were not Present and would make that decision as soon as we got home. When we arrived for our pre-booked viewing yesterday afternoon, the reception was very busy, and we were left waiting for around 10 minutes. My wife was clearly visibly distressed and we had to sit with the other customers and their pets. We were then shown into one of the consulting rooms, where our little dog was covered with a blanket and had been laid on the table. We were given some privacy, but during the whole time we were With her, saying goodbye and very distressed, we could hear all the nursing staff Wright outside the door at the back laughing and joking. There was no music, no candles, nothing, even though they knew we were coming! We asked about information regarding cremation, and the vet nurse said that we would be texted a link, which I thought was a poorly! When we left, she offered to show us out through the back because we were so visibly upset, and when we walked through the area where the nursing staff were, they didn’t even have the courtesy or respect to stop their conversations or be quiet, they just kept on laughing and joking and talking about somebody’s hair and how nice it looked! When we got outside, we were met by another one of the customers who had seen how upset we were. She gave us both a hug, and was the only person who showed any real empathy or compassion. 24 hours later, we still hadn’t received a link to any information, and we knew our poor little dog was in one of their Freezers. So we got her out of there this afternoon and we will not be going back, plus we will be moving our other dog to another vets! Customer service is so important at times of distress and they got this so wrong! Our dogs are our world and we are devastated. They need to really think about how they treat people coming to view their pets after they have passed away as this is not the way to do it!

Fantastic experience: Couldn’t recommend Peak more, nice clean waiting area and lovely receptionists. Extremely professional and friendly vet service - my worries were met by James with considerate and knowledgable reassurance and he was so good with my dog Denzel. I travelled over half an hour to get there and it was more than worth it, and I won’t be taking him anywhere else in future. Thanks again.

Fantastic experience: Peak vets is beautiful and clean, there are treats in the waiting room, you're not waiting long and even the vet played with my cat and gave her lick e lix so taking her home on the bus was not an issue she was very very quiet or normally she does not like vets and we didn't have the best experiences in other vets but peak vets have a lot of empathy you can see they love animals ❤️ I told all my family and friends too.

I received the best care when my little fur baby had to be put to sleep. My big dog LOVES going there, so I know he'll be comfortable when his time finally comes. Fantastic experience: Purdy’s first visit to Peak Vets today. We’re really happy we signed our kitten up here, we are new to the area but decided on Peak Vets as the reviews topped everywhere else. Amazing service from the lovely reception desk and really thorough and reassuring check and vaccines by Dr Gillams. Fantastic experience: Lost our little dog Billy last month as heartbreaking as it was they couldn't have been more compassionate. They helped us through it and cared for him right to the very end.

Fantastic experience: Way better than my previous vets! They were very patient and kind with my cat who can be quite fearful and the result was that they were able to get her nails trimmed without too much fuss from her. I also appreciate that they have a communal relaxing spray for pets in the waiting room, and the nurse sprayed the examination room with it before I took my cat in. They clearly care about animals, so will definitely be making them my primary vet moving forwards even though it is further than my previous vets.

Fantastic experience: I have been using peak vets for around 17 years and they have always been so brilliant and caring . A few weeks ago I had to have my 17 year old cat PTS the vet (Macarena) was so kind and caring and comforted me on a personal level which I feel went above and beyond what was expected of her on a professional level and I really appreciated it so thanks for that. Also a couple of weeks later we received a card in the post which had a lock of our cats hair and her pawprints, again another gesture which I felt went above and beyond, this vets is abiut more than just a business and taking your money, you can feel the care and love they have for animals is foremost on every visit. Fantastic experience: Absolutely can't fault this vets at all, we went in for an emergency appointment today with our beloved 20 year old Millie, who sadly passed and isn't with us any longer, asking for help. We weren't registered beforehand but the staff are absolutely amazing and couldn't be anymore accommodating, compassionate and understanding with what we were going through. The vet (I'm sorry we don't remember your name very well with everything that happened) and marianne were absolutely amazing and helped us more than you can ever know. Even down to giving us paw prints, a lock of hair and some seeds of remembrance to take home. We can't thank you enough and we will be reccomending you to everyone we know, thank you so much again

Fantastic experience: We have been taking various pets to Peak vets pretty much since it opened many years ago. We've always felt that our concerns are heard, felt included in decisions, provided with honest opinions and supported with our choices since day one. We have met some lovely vets over the years and never met one that we didn't feel comfortable with. We have also had to say our sad goodbyes to our pets here too. The latest experience was recently with our beautiful cat. The vet Keith and the nurse whose name I missed, were amazing. We were informed from start to finish about every step. We were encouraged to be with our cat and comfort her throughout. Keith and the nurse were very compassionate, caring, considerate and most of all, brilliant at their job! Since then we've received a beautiful card with her paw prints and lovely kind words inside as well as 'forget me not' seeds to plant.
