Fantastic experience: Vet was very nice, explained what my cats symptoms were very helpful

Fantastic experience: I have been using this vets for over 25 years and during each and every one of those visits the staff have been very professional and polite. I have found each veterinarian I have seen during consultation, patient and very thorough when explaining what treatment my pet needs to treat them. I was shown empathy and understanding when two very much loved dogs were euthanatised and allowed the time to sit with them once they’d passed. Stating I was not to rush, which I was so grateful for. The only negative was, with my recent visit I was frantically trying to make an appointment over the phone, which didn’t get answered and had to do that on-line, which was quick and easier than I thought so my stress levels didn’t increase after no answer when I called and got an appointment the same day. Definitely better than the GP! The place was really clean and the waiting room was well set up with a separate area for cats and dogs and the blankets with a calming scent to put over my cats carrier which was useful. There’s also a candle advising others when lit someone is grieving, Which I thought was a lovely idea.

Negative experience: Great vets when they have my cat, but very poor phone lines. Gave up after nearly an hour and 15 minutes on hold with 40 minutes being stuck at number one.

Negative experience: I took my elderly dog, Simba, to The Park Vet Group (Whetstone) for Librela injections to help with arthritis. After his second injection, he suffered two seizures within 22 hours, having never had one before. When I raised this as a suspected adverse reaction, the Lead Clinical Director confirmed in writing that she did not report it to the VMD, because Zoetis (the manufacturer) told her “no further reporting was necessary” and that “duplicate reporting is unnecessary.” Of course they did — it’s hardly in their interest to see more adverse reactions officially recorded against their product. Vet reports contain clinical detail — dosage, lot number, exam notes, vitals, timing — that make the data stronger for safety monitoring. So the VMD wants both. Each perspective strengthens the overall signal. The Park failed to report it and instead followed the drug manufacturers wishes......the very company whose record is at stake. This isn't random. It’s institutional conditioning. This corporate practice now appears to act less like independent veterinary professionals and more like mouthpieces for pharmaceutical companies, repeating the manufacturer’s narrative rather than following the regulator’s guidance. I’m sharing this so other pet owners can make informed choices and ensure suspected adverse reactions are properly reported — not quietly minimised or dismissed. Librela isn’t the “miracle wonder drug” it’s often made out to be. I would urge other pet owners to be cautious when trusting this practice’s recommendations. After this experience, I left the practice. I later received automated appointment reminder texts regarding Librela, which added to my distress. You couldn’t ask for a clearer example of the problem — automated systems sending drug reminders without anyone checking the dog’s medical history, adverse-reaction record, or even realising he’s no longer their patient. It says everything about how this corporate chain operates: efficiency over empathy, procedure over patient safety.

Fantastic experience: Friendly prompt service

Negative experience: We have used this vet for 15 years for one of our cats and in that time it has gone downhill massively. They’re hesitant to do blood testing even when asked to, and after an 18 month+ battle over a simple blood test she was found to have (as assumed and told to the vet) hyperthyroidism. Considering this can be potentially cancerous and is a lifelong condition it is truly appalling that even when asked and given reasons they don’t have any motivation to do blood testing. Between this and unrecognised dental issues (where are the nose to tail checks??!) we won’t be using this vet again. The vets don’t seem particularly caring or interested in problems your pet may have, and are quick to assume that the problems are your fault. We were told that our cat was ‘just bored’ and that was her cause for overeating, even after it was mentioned several times by us that we thought she was hyperthyroid.

Negative experience: Whats a shambles this practice has become since no longer being independent. Latest annoyance booking an appointment on the phone and then being told on arrival, the acct is in my husbands name, they need my husbands authority for our dog to be seen. Our dog has been registered with them for 13 years and I have taken her on numerous occasions. So if there is a change in policy for goodness sake send an email, use your Facebook page, send a letter to inform your clients to update their records. Also BE WARNED they have changed the brand of vaccine so will result in addional visits as you have to restart vaccinations. Being seen 45 mins after my appointment did not help my mood and leaves me wondering why a practice we have used for over 30 years should continue to have our custom. I have asked for the Practice Manager to call me and at the time of writing this review hasn't called back. Recommendations for an independent veterinary surgery in South Leicestershire please. Fantastic experience: My dogs are very nervous of the vet but at park all the staff are kind and understanding and try to make them feel at ease

Negative experience: Update April 2025 - last update. After I took my rabbit out of this vet due to how rubbish it is and the childish behaviour of two members of staff (who then sent me a letter saying they were removing me as a patient (doesn’t quite work when I’d already removed him)). I found another vet professional and dignified; not childish and immature like those at Park Vets. I had to take my rabbit on a Sunday as an emergency and my new vet use Park Vets Glenfield as their emergency. I called them up and they initially refused to see him as A had wrote I was so abusive they removed me as a patient (if I had the time and energy I’d have sued Whetstone for slander) as her lies could have meant my rabbit (who was suffering and needed to be PTS) had no emergency vets to see that evening. Thankfully they were more grown up and mature at Glenfield and put an animal first…to which I am very grateful for. Update 10th March 2025 - just when you think they can’t get any worse. I won’t go into too much detail here but watch out for the two A’s - most two unprofessional people I’ve ever had the displeasure to deal with. I asked A to leave me alone over email but she wouldn’t, she kept sending emails and I kept replying leave me alone, and they still kept coming with her wanting the last word which is fine if it was on a personal level but very childish on a business level. This sums up the place! I told her I will no longer use them as my vets then on her third or forth (or was it eighth) email she told me they were severing me as a customer and I will be receiving a letter through the post telling me so. I mean, talk about childish as I’d already told them they were no longer my vets. I had to block her email address in the end to put a stop to her harassment. Also denied sending a thumbs up to me too even though it was there as plain as day. If you come across any of their previous staff who left and work elsewhere, ask them about how terrible it is at Park Vet Whetstone now all the good staff and vets left. Thumbs up A! Original post Don’t take your rabbit here, they claim they are small animal savvy completely clueless about rabbits (who are classed as exotic). They don’t give a shite which vet sees you and I was even seen by a vet who is either still studying or has just finished. Although she was lovely, she was completely inexperienced and had to seek advice from a senior vet. She didn’t even know rabbits have two different types of poop so def was not rabbit savvy just like none of them are. The records show my rabbit has an abscess so to give me a newly qualified vet on the second visit about it was totally inappropriate and not surprising as they just don’t care! All original vets and staff left after it got took over. That says everything you need to know.

Fantastic experience: We joined Park Vet Group in Whetstone very recently for our 2 girls and a boy kittens. The staff here are very friendly, kind and very warm approach with our 3 little babies. Met 2 nurses and one of the main Vets so far and found them all very kind and lovely and happy to share information. Kittens had their neutering and spaying coupe of weeks ago. They came back feeling calm and happy. Thank you all for being so lovely with Vesper, Albi and Noor.

Fantastic experience: My very elderly cat (20 years) had a health check today with Vet Pablo Rodriguez. Pablo was fantastic! He listened to my concerns, answered all my questions and asked lots of relevant questions about Connie. He was so helpful and gave me all the information and costs before I agreed to anything. He was kind and gentle with my cat and made much of her. The very BEST experience I’ve EVER had at Park Vets, although I have to admit that there have been many other very positive visits for us, but this time surpassed all others! Negative experience: I’ve been with the park for almost 15 years and I have to say I’m disgusted recently, I had to visit with my dog a few weeks back and was advised to give him drops for his eye that was a bit gunky and I was charged £96 for the consultation and drops then in my recent visit I was with the vet for 1 minute and she printed something that I collected from reception and I was charged £50, this is absolutely disgusting and nothing but profiteering. I will be finding another vet I’m afraid.

Fantastic experience: We've been using the practice for our cats for over 30yrs and have never had anything but the best service. Recently our cat had an emergency appointment and was dealt with sympathetically by vets, Ben and Emily. They were great and our cat is now on the mend. Thankyou. Purrfect practice!

Fantastic experience: Whetstone is an excellent practice. Never had a problem getting an appointment and the vets are excellent!! We like the consistency we get at the practise, we don’t have to explain our dogs problems as they read the notes before seeing us.

Fantastic experience: As new puppy owners Park Vets practice have provided an excellent service to help us care for the health of our new family member. Our puppy is now 1.5 years old and we are very happy with the contacts we have had with the routine care delivered, including the spay operation. Clinical staff are friendly, approachable and able to answer any questions. Reception staff are kind & efficient and also happy to answer queries and respond appropriately. Thank you very much.

Fantastic experience: Brought my dog in for her yearly once over. Staff always polite and friendly, as well as professional. No problems. Missed an injection but sorted out quickly.

Negative experience: After over 12 years of good service when I needed them most (to euthanise my dog) they let me down. I realise it was a Saturday morning and a bank holiday weekend but to be told I had to wait until Tuesday morning for a home visit to put an old dog, that had gone off his back legs that morning, to sleep was poor. I was given the name of a couple of companies that specialise in home euthanasia and hospice. I couldn't be happier with their service. Deeply disappointed with Park, pity.

Fantastic experience: I have been with Park Vets for 19 years, with my various dogs, and they have always been really caring and friendly.

Negative experience: Emergency appointment with my dog following a fall and they carried out physical inspections suggesting ligament damage and to X-ray the following day to be sure. After the X-rays they confirmed it’s a crucial tear and that she will require surgery at the Glenfields practice and can book in two weeks. I took her to another practice as two weeks was two long and following a further scan they confirmed it is nothing to do with her knee and she had in fact fractured her Femur and required immediate surgery. I asked for an explanation and all I have received is based on her history of arthritis they did everything right and followed the correct procedure. How can they miss such a bad break and brush it under the carpet. Very poor!

Fantastic experience: Staff are always very welcoming and attentive to our 2 very excited dogs. All the vets we've seen have been great with our girls and take the time to listen to our concerns and explain fully what the issue may be and what if any treatment is required.

Good parking , lovely and clean , reception staff are really friendly and knowledgeable, every vet we have seen has been fantastic and really taken the time to make our puppy feel as at ease as possible . Negative experience: Poor telephone answering times - reception team constantly unable to give information about pet in care and unable to answer customers questions always very invasive and non comital improvements required in customer training and extra members required to answer telephone calls for a more helpful efficient service

Negative experience: Can’t reflect notes from appointments. Misdiagnose, despite convos can’t explain a simple thing that even insurers asked. Don’t trust them and moving. After being loyal customer it’s ended very badly. If you have pet insurance be careful with these vets as they tell you something in appointment and then find out when claiming things are not accurate so you don’t get covered.

Fantastic experience: Such friendly staff and each vet I have visited with my puppy , has been so helpful and extremely knowledgeable. They really take their time with you and you never feel rushed. Always giving you various options towards your concerns with your pet. Very clean too :)

Fantastic experience: Excellent practice. I cannot fault the service provided by Park Vets, Whetstone. The vets are kind and caring. Beverly is especially wonderful with our extremely nervous dog who requires regular blood tests and check ups. The practice have systems in place to ensure his visits are as stress free as possible, such as appointment beepers, which mean we can remain in the car until the vet is ready to see him. They also have a side entrance so he doesn’t have to see other dogs in the waiting room. The reception / admin team are always friendly and helpful. I have never had an issue getting an appointment with a specific vet and I’ve found treatments fees to be really reasonable too. I feel very lucky to have found such a brilliant vets and would 100% recommend them.

Fantastic experience: Pablo was amazing with Sergio and greeted him warmly. All my questions were answered thoroughly and professionally. Sergio can be quite an anxious boy, however Pablo seemed to put his mind at ease and he was less anxious.

Fantastic experience: Our puppy has recently been spayed at Park Vets Whetstone and they've been amazing. Leah dealt with us both pre and post op and explained everything so well and we were really impressed. Communication was excellent, pricing was clear and our puppy was well cared for. Fantastic experience: I needed to find a practice that supplied Vanguard vaccinations at very short notice due to another practice being unable to supply after booking a visit. I contacted Park Veterinary Group and the receptionist was brilliant confirming they provided the correct vaccination and booking me in at short notice due to the circumstances. On arrival I was warmly greeted by reception staff who registered my puppy and after a very short wait straight into to see the vet. The vet was very kind and showed he cared deeply for my puppy, did all the checks needed and administered the injections professionally and accurately ensuring the puppies visit was pleasurable. I left the practice in the knowledge I had found the right place for both myself and my puppy for all future veterinary needs. Well done Park Group Vets and Whetstone Branch

With the patience, care and gentle approach he has had at Park Vets he is now more confident and walks happily into the treatment room. What a turnaround! ALL the staff are so patient and friendly.

Fantastic experience: Amazing experience every time with Park Veterinary Group! When taking in our older Shih Tzu, the vets really went out of their way to ensure care during difficult times. Since then we always decided to go back for our two puppies to their Whestone branch. Couldn’t be happier with the experience we had, vet and nurses explained everything and was so helpful every step of the way. The vet was so good our puppies didn’t even notice their vaccinations.
