Fantastic experience: Good service all round Cheers

Negative experience: Had diabolical experience. When my cat needed to be put to sleep. Charged nearly £300 then informed me they had a communal cremation. So they threw my beautiful cat into a furnace with other cats and threw her away like trash. Never got her ashes back. They lied to me saying I agreed to it. So conned, lied to and robbed of receiving my darlings ashes. So cruel and heartless. Was devastating

Fantastic experience: Our 5 yr old dog had his health check and injections last night. He's quite an anxious dog at times. All the staff were really understanding and lovely to us and Frank. We would definitely recommend.

Negative experience: I was at this vets for 30 plus years but the service has gone shocking. My dog was dying and they told me they couldn't see her because they had no appointments. Seriously isn't that classed as an emergency. Told me to go to the emergency vets and I told them she wouldn't survive the journey to then be told "well I'm sorry we have no appointments" disgusting would not recommend them at all there shocking and just don't care. Moved vets now and wow what a difference my new vets are should of done it years ago and maybe my poor furbaby would still be alive today

Fantastic experience: I visited the Vets with my cat Blackee on Wed 08/10/25 at 3.30pm for a 6 month health check, and was taken early as it was a quiet time. The lady at Reception was very friendly and helpful explaining about the Pet Health Club. I said for now I would pay as I went along as I wouldn't be using the services provided for the moment. The Vet/Nurse was helpful with Blackee's health - at the moment he is healthy and full of vitality for his age of 12. I explained that my other cat Ginny is doing really well on the joint supplement YuMove suggested by the Vet on her previous 6 month health check, as a few weeks ago she was struggling with her hind legs. Everyone at Mount Road Vets is very kind and gentle with the pets people take in, they really care how they are doing and the makes me feel confident in taking all my pets over the past few years, there. Fantastic experience: I would like to thank the staff at mount road vets.Over the past two weeks I have brought two cats to be treated on both occasions the vet Dr Sparkman has shown great compassion and treatment for my cats.Dr Sparkman is a credit to her profession.The receptionist Molly is a quality member of staff who puts my cats and myself at ease when we arrive at the vets.I would highly recommend mount road vets for veterinary needs..

Negative experience: Very poor experience with Mount Road Vets yesterday. He was not able to explain from the beginning what i needed to do and was changing the story after every question. It looks like they changed a lot since last time I was in and unfortunately have to say that I found all three staff in there present rude and lying. One price given over the phone and higher when you are there. So evasive and not helpful. Very sad, I used to like that place. Never again.... definitely changing vets.

Fantastic experience: Mount road vets has changed, looking very clean, no smell very bright with new chairs.

Negative experience: Useing this vet for some years but was not satisfied by vet.needed to find out what red lump was on back of dogs paw.stuck needle in made it bleed put drop on slide £250 but test could be inconclusive so how will I know what it is.pay £700 have it cut of get test done rediculous!. Might change vets..

Fantastic experience: Just want to thank the team at MR Vets for their excellent service! Our little Puggle was having some issues with her rear and the nurse and vet (2 seperate visits) fixed it and gave her a clear bill of health, all for a very affordable price! Far better service and care than we've experienced traditionally using Vets for Pets, would highly recommend!

Negative experience: Short version: This place will lie and risk the health of your animal in order to make extra money. Long version: We'd been with this vets for years for routine appointments and check ups, but this place seems to have gone completely downhill since covid perhaps, mainly due to one particular staff member. Our elderly cat had a mass removed from her eyelid area, they stitched it up, but the wound reopened a couple of months later. We took her back to find we have a new vet now who barely spoke English, didn't understand her history and actually rolled his eyes at me as I tried to explain. He prescribed her medicine that was irrelevant to the issue(arthritis), never told us any prices upfront, leaving us with a bill that blindsided us everytime, yet also refused to ever give us the physical prescriptions so we could buy it for 1/4 of the price online. And after that, said the only way forward was plastic surgery and a full dental removal. As if we were going to put an 18 year old cat through plastic surgery! We have since switched to another practice in Heaton Moor, who charge less, speak clear English, has multiple consultants and have an actual professional premises with dedicated surgery rooms rather than something the size of a living room. They also told us that our cat was too old to be put under anesthetic safely, and dental work/plastic surgery was completely unnecessary, and after the original surgery, mount road should have have gave her a cone collar to help it heal properly, which the scumbags never did. She is now on a round of treatment involving medicine only and we are hopefull for the first time in ages, ever since mount road caused her so much pain that she would have been better off never having the original surgery with them at all. I never leave bad reviews as I believe you should just let things go and forgive, but after spending nearly 2k here just to increase her suffering, and for them to have the gall to suggest a course of plastic surgery on an 18 year old when she is too old to even handle anesthetic, just to fix their original mistakes and make more money by risking her life, is utterly immoral and insane. I'm sure some genuine people work here, but the vet himself is a monster in our eyes, and I hope he doesn't put anyone else through what he did to us. This place is lucky we're not taking legal action, as I believe we would have a good case for malpractice.

Fantastic experience: I have 4 cats and every time I take one of them I find the staff warm and welcoming and the vets always explain in easy language and give me informative advice about the treatment they offer I would highly recommend them.

Negative experience: After following the advise the vet gave meticulously, I followed up with an appointment only to be given completely different information. The health of my pet is important and his surgery is now delayed while he may have to loose part of his eyelid at the least. Of course this not only costs extra money, but most importantly my dog has to suffer. Also, I was not given the opportunity to speak AT ALL since the vet didn’t allow me to- no way I would return my pet to such person. Additionally, the receptionist was very unprofessional.

Negative experience: Ive been with this vets for over 25 years. My little dog died there in December. So being told i had to take my other dog in to be examined before she could have her flea drops was something i couldnt face. My daughter offered to take her. She drove here for almost 45 mins to pick my dog up, then drove a further hour to the surgery. Arriving 5 mins late. The vet came into the reception area, and in front of a full waiting room, gave my daughter a showing down and was told he might fit her in at the end of surgery. Not being in the strongest of mental health, my daughter fled the surgery in tears. How can this be the way to treat people who have gone to so much trouble to get my dog there, for no good reason really, for her drops? I am absolutely disgusted and will be putting in a formal complaint. You just dont know what a person is going through in their lives, so everybody should be treated with respect. I could go on about how angry i am, but wont bore you further.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic veterinary practice . Online booking system easy to use . The practice has a warm and friendly feel . The staff are amazing . Their dedication and commitment to both patients and customers is obvious . Reassured on every visit that my pet couldn’t be in better hands . Thank you so much all at mount road vets

Reception lady is nice and should go somewhere they actually love the pets and not the money more but the vet is rude he don't like to be Questioned about the treatment and said all over the Counter products for animals don't work ! And u sould always buy from the vets so pets at home are selling stuff that is not Safe then ? All about the money nothing else will never go back

Positive experience: Long wait to be seen and animal hair on consultation table didn't impress well. Satisfied with treatment though. Moggy is showing signs of improvement.

Negative experience: Beware the woman at this vets practice. My dog went in for bad teeth. She was 13 and a rescue. I paid £500 for her teeth to be cleaned. She died of a condition called Bloat a few hours after the operation to take her teeth out. I was inconsolable to say the least. The vet who carried out the op. Lied and lied and lied along with the receptionist who corroborated everything she said. I went to the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons to complain about the Vet and guess what they backed her up every step of the way!! I decided not to take the matter any further as I was absolutely destroyed by the whole incident. To see my dog screaming in agony just an hour after her operation was horrific to say the least. All the receptionist said was 'has she had a wee? ' and then when I told her Millie (the dog) was screaming in pain she told me it was because of Millie having teeth out. I received a 5 page letter from RSVS informing me I had lied and lied about the whole matter and added that I could contact a charity to help me if I wished. I was too ill to carry on at that stage. Since that time over 3 years have passed and I recently saw an article in the Daily Mail. It confirmed what I already knew. The RCVS backs every Vetinary Surgeon up even when the Vet is guilty. They even agreed that I had lied about everything. Julian was a good Vet but the woman who operated on my dog was really really bad. Be careful about the vet you choose. My experience was horrendous and I was ill for months after. I had never watched a dog die in agony before.

Fantastic experience: Had to let my old dog go over the rainbow bridge. They took so much care of him during the procedure. They treated him with dignity and respect. We were all with him when he went. It was peaceful and dignified.

Negative experience: This is my pets vets.. that are usually wonderful, but today is Saturday and I have to take cat to another vets, which I'd rather not do, as this vets offers me nothing helpful. Called them from 10 till 11.. they don't answer phone to give any advice, emailed them.. no return response... Appointment system offers no available appointments all week.... Today a big 0 from me. Can anyone tell me if they are still open for business. Would be most appreciated. Thank you.

Positive experience: I use to like it coz its just round the corner but trying to get an appointment now is a joke according to there website the next available appointment is September I'm gna keep checking daily tho

Fantastic experience: Called into the vets with my dog very worried I was welcomed with a smile. Didnt wait long and was brought through by the vet who straight away made me feel at ease and loose my fear. Negative experience: I have been using this practice since the late 1980s. Mr Frost, Julian and the nurses were all fantastic but since it has been taken over by My Family Vets, it's an absolute shambles. Vet only occasionally on site at the moment and the records are up the wall.

Negative experience: Seems the "vet" too young and inexerianced , asked me lots of questions about my dog,for this experiance charged me £40 + £17 for tablets not needed, conciltation lasted 12 mins, I am not a mug the building used to be a doctors surgery Mr Smiths years ago.

Negative experience: Worst veterinary practice in Manchester. The nurses have always been nice but the vets have largely been uncaring and the last one I saw was incompetent and failed, because she wouldn’t examine her properly, to diagnose my dogs cancer which resulted in her death a few months later.

They showed real empathy towards us when my cat tragically passed away last year and let us spend some time with him without rushing us. Negative experience: My family has used this vets for over 20 years and until recently i have never had a problem, the staff have always been wonderful and its reasonably priced but unfortunately no-one answer's the phone now. I was ringing multiple times a day for over a week. I really hope this place sorts it's act out I'd love to come back. Feel let down

Fantastic experience: The locum vets have been there a while.Each one has been professional with a huge love for the patient being treated. The staff are lovely caring kind and thoughtful.The business seems to be struggling since covid .we would be devastated if it closed. Our animals old and new over 30 years have been lovingly looked after here .After a tumble down the stairs Teddy was not himself panting couldn't settle atall they told us to come as soon as only because he's 8 now and a little tubby pug .He was checked out given pain relief jab cos empty stomach sent home with ibuprofen. We felt looked after Yes would highly recommend

Negative experience: Absolutely ridiculous. No answer to the phone for 1 hour I’ve been calling since a week I litteraly have 197 call at once and nobody is picking up saying busy line whereas they aren’t. I’m absolutely disgusted of this vet. Timing is awkward and no vet appointment available. My cat cannot have his booster not seen as he’s poorly.

Fantastic experience: The staff here are wonderful. So kind. Especially during the height of the pandemic when everything was that much more difficult. They looked after our beloved cat Sugar to the very end. I’m very grateful to them all.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been going here for years and the staff are always the kindest and most helpful even when they’ve been mad busy and all through lockdown. They most recently helped my cat Toby who had hurt his leg - quickly diagnosed with a cat bite that had become infected. He’s already much better having started antibiotics. Thank you so much

Negative experience: They've recently nearly doubled their prices and just tried to charge me £40 for fleas drops I can buy elsewhere for less than a tenner. Staff are ok for the most part but quite slow, often double book appointments and they seem to have stopped answering the phone. We used this vets for years because of the lower costs but now it's gotten very expensive, we'll probably go elsewhere in future.

Negative experience: If it was possible to put minus stars I would have. Awful experience. Julian shouldn't be allowed near animals. I hope that all the animals who suffered and died because of his total lack of care come back to foul on his (no doubt) luxurious soft furnishings! Avoid Avoid Avoid!

Negative experience: What a shocking experience I have had with this vets recently. Numerous appointments cancelled. No empathy, refuse to help when my dog was poorly. Concerns never addressed when raised. I would advise anyone who was thinking of going there to go somewhere else.

Negative experience: Jokers. Never answer the phone and charge a fortune once you get through. The male vet has a really bad attitude, when I first got my dog I was told that mount roa were good but over 2 years. I’ve been to them 3 times and every single time had a bad experience. I had an appointment with them in December and they rang me on the day of the appointment saying that there wasn’t anyone available today and that I will have to re-book my appointment for 2 weeks later bear in mind I had to take the day off work and lose a days wage my advice would be not to bother with them!

Negative experience: It's with great sadness that after 25+ years of exceptional care for my pets and fantastic customer service, I should feel compelled to leave such a poorly rated honest review for here. Over the past six months I have experienced the most appalling service. I'm not going to list the many problems I've encountered, but they all amount to inadequate customer service, terrible communication and incorrect information being given to me. All of the problems I've experienced could have been avoided with better management and leadership. I don't know what's gone wrong, but I know its not all down to Covid-19 restrictions...I'm certain of this from the conversations I've had directly with staff. I've now registered elsewhere and would advise anyone else thinking of joining here to think carefully before doing so.

Fantastic experience: Took my dachshund to this vets. Found everyone very friendly both staff and clients. They took dolly off into the back room for her consultation She had no problems going along with them. I could hear them talking to her and reassuring her keeping her calm. She came back out to me with her tail wagging don't think I'm going to have any trouble when she has to go back.

Negative experience: Been with this practice for must be over 20 years having had cats and dogs. Took my cat as an emergency he couldn’t breathe turned away as the surgery had changed to appointments the week before which I wasn’t aware off. They actually took someone’s cat in as an emergency just literally before me. Told me to go to the out of hours vet which the receptionist advised would probably cost me a 1000 pounds. Wasn’t particularly thinking about the money at the time just getting my cat right. Fortunately found a vet that would see my cat as an emergency who was brilliant. My cat unfortunately was at end of life so did pass away but left me feeling quite saddened how we were treated by mount road vets. Would NOT recommend. Poor service.

But it used to tickle me seeing the Qs outside folks waiting to get in. Lol Sign of a good vet. Covid has killed, that real shame xx

Positive experience: I nearly did not come again to this vet, after they misdiagnosed my dog, and missed an ear infection diagnosing it as a stroke. However the current vetinary surgeon is excellent, and the whole of the practice is compassionate and aware that people are not well off.

Negative experience: My cat had blood tests done on the 17th November which cost me near enough £200 and ever since I've been getting fobbed off when I ask for his results, I've still heard nothing back and we're now on the 16th December. It's not on at all! I know he has something wrong with his kidneys but no one will ring me up to tell me what's wrong with him. I shouldn't have to wait this long for my beloved cats results, I've paid out a lot of money and I've just been ignored, I feel like I've been robbed.
