Fantastic experience: Great first visit to Govets. All the staff were very welcoming and friendly, definitely recommend.
Positive experience: I originally left a 1‑star review yesterday because my experience at the clinic was not good. The vet who saw my puppy did not handle him well during an ear examination and caused him pain, which was very distressing to witness. However, the owner of the clinic contacted me today personally after seeing my review. He listened to everything that happened, explained that the vet was new, and assured me he would address the situation and provide guidance so it doesn’t happen again. He also offered for Coco to be seen again free of charge and arranged a refund for the consultation. I appreciate the owner’s genuine concern for both animals and their owners, and the fact that he took responsibility and acted quickly. The follow‑up was excellent, but my initial experience still involved my puppy being in distress. For that reason, I am updating my review to 3 stars.

We’re sorry to hear that Coco’s examination was distressing for you to witness. We completely understand how worrying it can be for any owner to see their puppy appear uncomfortable during a consultation, and we appreciate you taking the time to explain what you observed.
During ear examinations, particularly in young puppies or when the ears are already sensitive or inflamed, there can sometimes be brief moments of discomfort while the vet is carefully examining the ear canal to determine what may be causing the problem. Our aim in every consultation is to handle patients as calmly, safely, and gently as possible while still carrying out the clinical assessment needed to properly evaluate their condition.
As discussed when we spoke, the vet who saw Coco is a newer member of our clinical team. All of our vets are fully qualified and registered professionals, and the welfare of the animals in our care is always our highest priority. We also take feedback from owners seriously, particularly where a client has felt concerned about their pet’s experience during an examination. For that reason, we have reviewed the situation internally so that we can continue supporting our team and ensure that our handling, communication, and consultation approach consistently reflects the standards we expect within the practice.
We were grateful that you took the time to speak with us personally and explain your concerns. As discussed, we were very happy to arrange a refund for the consultation and offer Coco a follow-up appointment free of charge so that we can reassess him and ensure everything is progressing as expected.
Our intention is always to provide the highest standard of care for every patient we see while also making sure owners feel listened to and confident in the care their pets receive. Fantastic experience: Clean, professional, informative, friendly and very accessible. Recently used for neutering. Gave him the once over first, booked in for 2 days later & back home and recovering. Cone of shame provided and post op anti inflammatory painkillers provided without any hidden costs. Online assistance, almost instant reply (get the app) and availability to bring back in if necessary. High recommendations from us thanks guys

Fantastic experience: I recently took my dogs in for blood tests and had such a positive experience. The staff were incredibly kind, patient, and gentle with both of them, which immediately put me at ease. They explained the process clearly, answered all my questions, and made sure I understood what the bloodwork was for and when I could expect the results. They came back fast with results and gave me the perfect days recommend to breed The clinic itself was clean, calm, and well-organized, and you could tell they genuinely care about the animals they treat. Fantastic experience: When our puppy Melvin had a bad reaction to his flee treatment - Luke (the owner) at GoVets Manchester was extremely helpful in arranging for a full health check assessment and fluids. Fantastic experience: I honestly cannot recommend this vet highly enough. I have an XL Bully and Staffies, and finding a practice that truly understands and respects these breeds isn’t always easy — but the care here is absolutely outstanding. The team are incredibly knowledgeable, professional, and compassionate. They take the time to explain everything clearly, never rush appointments, and always make me feel reassured. Most importantly, they treat my dogs with genuine kindness and understanding, which means the world to me. I actually travel an hour to come here, and I wouldn’t consider going anywhere else. Fantastic experience: We brought Wiggy to GoVet Manchester for a neutering procedure, and Sammy was absolutely wonderful. She explained the entire process in detail and made sure we understood everything. Throughout, she was extremely attentive and caring, which really put us at ease. Fantastic experience: I took my pups at 8 weeks old to GoVets for their first vaccinations and microchips and had a great experience. The staff were really friendly and welcoming, and Luke (the owner) came to check how the pups were getting on while we were waiting, which was a lovely personal touch. The practice is modern and really nice aesthetically too. Overall, we felt completely at ease and would definitely recommend.

Fantastic experience: Highly recommend this pet clinic ❤️ I brought my dog in for a visit recently, and the whole team was incredibly caring and attentive. The nurses and staff were very patient, gently calming my dog and taking the time to explain every step of the check-up and care process, which made me feel really reassured. Fantastic experience: I thought it was about time I did a review, after dealing with Luke and govets for many years now I would highly recommend them for EVERYTHING! I am personally a licensed breeder and been here for many different reasons and always walked out happy. The customers service as you walk in, the information and knowledge what’s given to you when talking to the vets and staff as well as the aftercare and follow ups! Been to a lot of vets in my time and this one stands out for actually caring and giving proper advise not just trying to make money with silly pricing and suggestions. Negative experience: Terrible experience – inconsistent advice, poor communication, and unacceptable behaviour I am extremely disappointed with the care and communication at Govets. My puppy Darcy was first seen on 4 February 2026 due to pooing blood. We returned on 6 February because there was no improvement. At that appointment, one vet told us the situation was serious and advised X-ray and fluid injections. We explained that Darcy had very recently undergone anaesthesia for a tooth removal, so we wanted to hold off on further anaesthesia for the moment. The vet then clearly advised us to return on Monday for a stool (poo) test to check whether giardia was still persistent. We made this booking immediately. When we returned on 9 February, a different vet saw us and said they had “never ever” advised a stool test. Despite my insistence, he gave several contradictory and concerning explanations: 1. He said it was written in a “textbook” that Panacur must be given for 10 days before retesting – which directly contradicts why we were told to come back on Monday for the poorest in the first place. 2. He suggested this may have been due to my “English problem”, despite me having lived in this country for years. He then spoke privately to my boyfriend (who is English) after I left the room and asked whether he could UNDERSTAND him BETTER. This was deeply inappropriate and offensive. 3. The receptionist was very kind and offered to ask the vet to speak with the previous vet to clarify the situation. He REFUSED, saying the previous vet was on holiday. 4. At 6:45pm (after we had already been there over 1.5 hours, with the clinic closing at 7pm), we were told that if we “really, really” wanted the test, it COULD be done, but he claimed he was only trying to “save us money.” 5. He explicitly said he had “looked it up ONLINE”, which is alarming to hear when your puppy has been pooing blood for almost a week. To make matters worse, he then prescribed another 5 days of Panacur and told us to come back in 7–10 days!! As we were leaving, he suddenly changed this to 10–14 days !! When I questioned the inconsistency, he said it was “fine” to come back anytime between 7–14 days??? At this point, I was completely shocked. The advice changed repeatedly within the same appointment, while my puppy continued to pass bloody stools. There was no clear plan, no accountability, and no urgency for a visibly unwell animal. This experience showed a lack of professionalism, consistency, respect, and clinical confidence. I have completely lost trust in this practice and would not recommend it to anyone who expects clear communication and reliable veterinary care—especially in serious situations.

Fantastic experience: Excellent service from goVets for my almost 19 year old cat who has been suffering with hypertension and then became ill again a couple of of weeks later. More blood work and examination, the result of which seems to be pain in her mouth and her arthritic joints. More meds which will hopefully help her. Vets Juan and Arash have been so gentle and caring to her and the rest of the staff so helpful. I would definitely recommend goVets. Fingers crossed she will soon be back to normal.
Fantastic experience: Absolutely a great experience with the govets team and so relaxing while buddy had his first vaccination, he had a couple off hours sleep and now he's bouncing around like a puppy should, very happy
Fantastic experience: This was my 3rd visit to govets with my dog, every visit has been a positive experience. The staff on reception are respectfull and polite. The vet who i seen today was really helpful and definitely put my mind at ease. With my dog being a xlbully she hasn't always had the best experience at vets because they judge her by her looks so she doesn't get a good looking over but the vet today only met her this time and gave her a full check over when we just came in for her back leg, even trusted her to check in her mouth through her muzzle( i know that seems like a normal thing a vet should do, but no vet has done that with her before even before the ban when there was no need for the muzzle) so that made me feel very happy that I chose to change over to govets. Thank you to that vet for understanding that not all big dogs that are muzzled are mean, some are just gentle giants

Fantastic experience: Absolute amazing vets, from walking in your greeted by the lovely receptionists who make you feel at ease right away. Walter my 4 month old kitten is always treated with such love and care and he especially loves all the cuddles he gets. Everything is explained in detail and all questions are answered in such detail so you know exactly what is going on. Great vets and I’m so glad I registered with them and I know my baby is in excellent, professional hands.
Fantastic experience: I contacted GoVets as an emergency as our local vets wouldn’t help us with our whippet. He had to have a full tail amputation at really short notice from first point of contact on a Monday, Blue had his surgery on the Tuesday lunchtime and was back home that evening. The staff were patient and informative from start to finish and provided regular updates on Blue’s welfare. The care in which Blue has received is amazing! His surgery was complicated but the we made the best decision for him after a consultation with Juan. Blue’s aftercare has involved post-op checks, and regular contact to see how he was doing as well as medication to keep him comfortable. We did end up back in as an emergency as Blue thought it was a good idea to pull his stitches out 3 days post op which was quite stressful but hats off to Kayla who did the best bit of stitching I have ever seen and gave him a pedicure whilst asleep so he had no chance of screaming and refusing! This second emergency was all done within 5 hours of an initial phone call and Blue was back home re-stitched complete with new paws. I genuinely think all of the practice has aided Blue’s recovery to being such a smooth process. Thank-you to all of you, including Juan for giving Blue a new lease of life, and of course the girls on reception. Thank you from me for offering a brew when I’ve sat and cried in the waiting room, and for just being genuinely lovely people. Highly recommend these guys for your pets, in 14 years of being a pet owner, I have never met people like these at GoVets who love your pets as much as you do!

Fantastic experience: Great vets would highly recommend, our previous vets couldn’t get us in as they said that didn’t have a vet in , called GoVets got seen same day and saved our dolly’s life with an emergency pyometra surgery. Negative experience: AVOID THIS CLINIC! Poor care, poor communication, and unnecessary stress. I would strongly advise against using this vet clinic! We paid a premium fee for travel documentation and received a service that was poorly prepared and not in line with our clearly stated requirements. Despite emailing in advance and raising the issue at the start of the appointment, our request was ignored, we were kept waiting around 1.5 hours, and mistakes in the paperwork later caused avoidable stress and additional costs while travelling. More concerning than the paperwork issues is the lack of basic clinical support. When our dog developed vomiting and blood in her stool, this clinic failed to call us back or offer any help, leaving us with no option but to attend an emergency clinic. Their only genuinely decent vet left in early December. Their standard of care and professionalism has clearly declined. Communication is poor, responsibility is avoided, and the prices charged are completely out of step with the service provided!! Between the stress, the costs, and the lack of support when our dog was unwell, this is not a clinic we would ever trust again — and one we would strongly recommend others avoid!

Fantastic experience: loved this vet from the moment I registered. My cat, Stormy, has had ear problems for quite a while. At first, I took her to another vet as I wasn’t registered anywhere yet and was still finding my way as a new cat owner. That vet suggested it was likely a wax build-up and prescribed antibiotic ear drops. They helped initially, but unfortunately the problem returned. After registering with GoVets, I brought Stormy in and from the moment we walked through the door, the staff were incredibly helpful and reassuring. Stormy gets very worked up in her travel carrier, so they kindly provided a room for us straight away to help her settle. The vet was absolutely lovely. He explained everything clearly and suggested that, since Stormy had already been on antibiotics, a lab culture would be really beneficial to check whether the infection was antibiotic resistant. I was so impressed with how thorough they were — and I’m so glad we did it. The results confirmed it was antibiotic resistant, which we wouldn’t have known otherwise. They prescribed stronger ear drops that targeted the infection properly, and within a week Stormy’s ears had completely cleared up! The whole team have been amazing with communication and support throughout the process, helping us every step of the way. I honestly can’t mention a single person because every member of staff has been so kind, helpful, and amazing. Everyone is so welcoming and friendly — it genuinely feels like they know you, which is really heartwarming. Thank you, GoVets! Stormy is back to her normal self, and I can finally relax knowing she’s feeling better and well cared for.

Fantastic experience: Perfect service from start to finish - went in for an ultrasound for our pregnant dog, images captured and all advice given to us by Luke about birthing, blood work and aftercare advice. Lovely clean environment and attentive staff.
Fantastic experience: I absolutely love this vets! Our previous were clearly focused on money whereas all the staff here really take their time with your pets & help them feel comfortable. On our latest visit Sophie & Kayla were on the desk ready to check us in and helped when we needed some assistance with our dogs leg. They were also happy to provide fusses which our dogs loved. The vet we saw was Juan who we have seen before and we really trust him. He fully explains procedures and lets your dog take time to feel comfortable around him. 10/10 practice and I’d recommend to anyone & everyone.
Fantastic experience: I really appreciated kayla, Sophie and veterinary mustafa help, understanding and kindess. Kayla and sophie helped me book an appointment, helped me bring my puppy in and helping him settle in the vets reception and mustafa patients and tenderness really help my puppy when having his first vaccination, clear communication and friendliness made the experance less worrying. Fantastic experience: I went for an appointment yesterday for my tortoise and i would like to say for my first time going there i can trust them all the receptionists were very kind and really welcoming and the exotic veterinarian was so polite and gentle with my tortoise, i would also like to say thank you for the help of everyone and the assistant who came in and shown us what vitamins my tortoise should be taking very polite will be coming back thank you so so much for giving the time for my pet it means the world

Fantastic experience: We have been using GoVets for a while now and it has been brilliant having a local vet in Ancoats. Before they opened we were travelling quite far, so this has made life much easier. Everyone there is really great with our dog, who is blind and gets very anxious and barky at the vet. They’re calm, patient and gentle with him. They also picked up an issue early that meant our dog could have surgery and make a full recovery. Always friendly, helpful and easy to deal with.

Fantastic experience: We have been taking our American XL bully, Thor since he was a puppy. He has had his puppy vaccines, neutering and general check ups done here. All the staff are lovely and show him so much love. We wouldn’t go anywhere else.

Negative experience: I took my dog in because he was constantly licking his paw. Seemed to be a skin irritation. His claws were trimmed despite having a groom prior so I didn’t think it was his nail, the trimming resulted in cutting it to close and cutting my dogs quick and it would not stop bleeding, a nurse had to also come it’s to stop it. I know it was an accident but the root cause of the irritation wasn’t found and he came out with another problem. Was an awful experience to see him howling, trembling and crying in so much pain. This also incurred an extra charge for pain relief medication and the problem hasn’t been resolved
Fantastic experience: The vets are really good with animals and care a lot for them. My cat was nervous but the vets made him feel more comfortable. The staff on entrance are sublime!

Fantastic experience: We called Go Vets on Saturday as we had a poorly puppy and our normal vets was closed. Sophie was so helpful, friendly and really patient on the phone, we was able to bring the puppy straight down to the clinic which was such a relief. While waiting, we were offered a cup of tea by Kayla at the reception desk, which was lovely and made us feel really welcome. The Vet (Andre) was excellent and very thorough, and listened to all our concerns. Thank you for giving us an appointment at such a stressful time, we will definitely use the practice again in the future.
Fantastic experience: Took Doris to GoVets looking poorly and she was admitted for bloods and ultra sound, had operation next morning suffering with a severe infection resulting in a hysterectomy Recovered extremely well, GoVets saved her life. Fantastic experience: Amazing service for our new puppy, from start to finish. Really helpful and friendly staff. The vet was so kind and obv shows love to all animals. Fantastic experience: Can’t express how incredible this vet is, I’ve been to another ‘chain’ vet in Manchester and decided to try this vet as we were constantly pushed to spend extra money and pay emergency fees. This vet’s are actually intent on finding out the diagnosis for my dog and are incredible at answering questions and making you feel like you’re in control of the situation. Couldn’t recommend enough!
Fantastic experience: GoVets were amazing! Really supportive and helpful when I needed it most. The vet was professional and managed our problems with ease and the reception staff on call today @17:50 were a calming and welcoming presence who showed their experience by smoothing the process the whole way along. Fantastic experience: I went to this vets as it Was the only one I could find that did my milo"s injection brand and I didn't want to wait or think about starting the 1st one again in a different brand I arranged to go at 6.15 but I phoned and asked there was any chance I could come earlier as I was right near the vets rather than doing a 30 mile round trip home then back to the Vets the only problem was I didn't have his card with me but I did have a picture they were fine with that I went the lady behind the reception was really nice and easy to talk to then we went in for his vaccination and the vet did lots of other checks heart tummy ears eyes etc then gave him some chicken paste at the end and he was great the vet was very nice and very professional asked if everything was OK with milo and sent us on our way if I lived closer to this vet I would Deffinately use it. I would reccomend this vets practice to anyone needing a vet for their animals xxx 5*
Fantastic experience: My dog is super nervous at the vet’s and usually I’m unable to get him into the treatment rooms without a fuss. The staff at GoVets knew this when I came in and they were all ready and had been told they had a nervous dog! They were so supportive and sweet and my dog actually ended up voluntarily going up to a vet for a sniff and wagging his tail. They were all so brilliant and made us both feel welcome ! Fantastic experience: I took my 3 puppies for their first injections today! We were met by two lovely front of house ladies! The Vet gave the pups a thorough check and they didn’t even flinch at the needle! 10/10 service. Would certainly use again.
Fantastic experience: My mums puppy had his second injection here today. From the moment I walked in, the young women on the front desk made me feel so welcome- very chatty, polite and so helpful. Fantastic experience: Our cat Frankie has a habit of getting herself into trouble and Go Vets Manchester have been excellent every time we have needed to take her in. They have managed to fit her in for emergency appointment on multiple occasions and have always been available over the phone for advice. The reception staff are lovely and welcoming, and were really helpful and knowledgeable about how to make claims through our insurance. We are very lucky to have Go Vets on our doorstep.
Fantastic experience: Another great experience at govets From the moment I entered the vets, I was greeted by the lovely reception staff, They greeted my dog with friendly strokes and made him feel at ease he’s Always nervous when he goes to the vets, Then we were seen by the lovely vet he was so gentle with My dog Teddy as I say Teddy gets very nervous at the vets he is a senior dog. He is 13 years old but the vet said he is in really good shape for his age, Teddy was there for his anal gland and is fleeing and worming medication, All is good with Teddy, so see you next time keep up the good work xx

Fantastic experience: I cannot speak highly enough of the team at GoVets. Rex and Shadow recently needed dental illness treatment, and the care they received was exceptional from start to finish. Juan carried out the procedures with outstanding professionalism, and he explained their dental X-rays and findings to me with real clarity and compassion. During the treatment, nurse Kirsty and the team kept me thoroughly updated, which made a stressful day so much easier. Both Juan and Luciano have also been an incredible support with Rex’s ongoing pre-existing skin concerns. Their advice has been clear, thoughtful, and backed by a proper plan of action. I truly cannot fault the clinical excellence at this practice. I’m so pleased I moved from my previous vet to GoVets. Their help during a particularly stressful period before fully transferring my cats’ care was invaluable. The reception team are consistently kind, attentive, and welcoming. Fantastic experience: Phoned on the day with my poorly African Grey, was seen within the hour. Juan was our vet who was extremely knowledgeable and confident with parrots. Gave a very thorough examination with a clear treatment plan. Very reasonably priced too. Will be my vet for life now.

Negative experience: Update (Dec 2025): The clinic responded below, but did not address the main concerns: • No basic diagnostics (Wood’s lamp / skin scraping) were done before recommending a £150 fungal culture • No explanation for why my cat received two antibiotics + a steroid injection when symptoms were mild at the first visit • They incorrectly implied that I “refused treatment”, while in reality no appropriate interim treatment was offered • My cat’s condition worsened due to delays caused by inaccurate decisions I have now filed a formal internal complaint and will submit a report to RCVS for professional review. I am sharing this so other pet owners can make informed decisions. -------- I brought my cat to this clinic twice. First visit: early August 2024 – diagnosed with flea allergy dermatitis and prescribed two different antibiotics and a steroid injection despite the notes only describing mild pruritus. The treatment did not solve the issue and the symptoms later worsened. Second visit: 2 December 2025 – I saw vet Juan, who was unable to provide a clear diagnosis or any treatment plan. No basic dermatological checks (e.g., Wood’s lamp, skin scraping) were done, yet I was advised to pay for an expensive fungal culture before anything could proceed. I left without any care being given, and I had to request the consultation fee refund myself. After expressing concerns, I was taken to a very high-end manager’s office upstairs, which felt completely disconnected from the standard of clinical care I received downstairs. It left me questioning the clinic’s priorities. I have already filed a formal complaint with the practice and will forward my experience to the RCVS, as I feel it is important that other pet owners are aware of the issues I encountered. I will be seeking veterinary care elsewhere.

We are very sorry to hear that you were dissatisfied with your recent experience, and we would like to offer some clarification regarding Schottky’s clinical assessments and the recommendations provided.
During your visit on 12/08/2025, our veterinary surgeon carried out a full examination and explained that one possible cause of Schottky’s symptoms was flea-bite hypersensitivity, alongside other potential causes such as different types of allergies, infections, immune-mediated conditions, and endocrine issues. To rule out flea allergy — which is the most common and least invasive first step — we prescribed a three-month course of Credelio. As Schottky also presented with pruritus and infected lesions, he was treated with an antihistamine, antibiotics, and topical medication to help relieve his symptoms while the flea control took effect.
At your next visit, you advised that the initial treatment had helped temporarily, which is consistent with the response we often see in such cases. You were also invited to return for a follow-up oral examination two days later, although this appointment did not take place.
At your most recent appointment, you reported that Schottky’s symptoms had returned despite completing the flea treatment. This strongly indicated that fleas were unlikely to be the cause of his ongoing condition. In line with professional guidelines, further investigation was recommended — such as skin biopsy, culture, or cytology — to obtain an accurate diagnosis and provide targeted treatment. These diagnostic options were discussed with you in detail, and while completely optional, they were declined.
Without diagnostic testing, our clinical options are limited, and we can only prescribe treatments that are both safe and appropriate in the absence of a confirmed diagnosis. For this reason, a medicated shampoo was offered as a conservative and harmless approach. Treatments for specific conditions, such as ringworm, can only be prescribed when diagnostic evidence supports that diagnosis, in accordance with veterinary regulations and our legal obligations.
Our team made every effort to communicate clearly, follow professional standards, and ensure that Schottky received appropriate and ethical care throughout his visits with us.
We hope this explanation provides clarity, and we remain very happy to discuss Schottky’s case further if you would like to explore the next steps for achieving a definitive diagnosis.

Fantastic experience: We took our 18 mth old border collie in today. It's Saturday and our vets aren't open. From the moment we walked in, we knew we were in good hands. The staff are friendly, caring and compassionate. The vet even got on the floor with our girl to keep her comfortable. Nothing was too much trouble and they informed us at every step. We loved it that much that we've changed vets to them.
