Fantastic experience: I'm not to good visiting vets I'm always very nervous but the nurse who helped my dog max really put me at ease and when she had finished with max she brought him out for me and his tail was wagging and that's all that matters so yes I was very reassured and my dog was happy so that made me happy

Negative experience: Really disappointing experience. We needed a prescription but were told we had to see a vet. We weren’t seen while others were that arrived later, and after our appointment time. I assume as we wanted a prescription and didn’t want to buy medication through them.

Fantastic experience: Took my Cockapoo Cookie to see Gorgina O’Mahony today with a sore ear and would like to say that Gorgina is the best! She made Cookie feel at ease and not as fearful as our little pets do when they go to the vets …and reception staff are fab as well. Well done Animal Trust!!

Fantastic experience: Superb place...on time and very professional.

Clare Q Posted on Google 2 months ago

Negative experience: It's the pet equivalent of a rammed, chaotic walk-in centre. I didn't even get past the 45 minute wait in reception. My cat was extremely distressed because of the 45 minute wait in a room full of barking dogs. Don't even bother making a complaint if you have a poor experience, because Samantha will just email you and gaslight you. I said the receptionist made me feel uncomfortable because she stared at me the entire time I was there, Samantha said "they are trained to keep an eye on the waiting area to ensure no client is left waiting..." LOL!! Well, I'd been waiting for 45 minutes, she could have spoken to me rather than staring for the entire time. I care about my cat, so I'll take her to an actual vet rather than whatever this mess is.

Negative experience: Very rude front desk, lied about availability wich i only found out later. would not recommend.

Maggie Kelly Posted on Google 3 months ago

Negative experience: Chat messages are slow coming threw you can be waiting all day for a message to come threw when you've already explained why you need appointment waiting hours for a reply back then having to keep phoning up getting no where.

Sharon Teat Posted on Google 3 months ago

Fantastic experience: Very good they save my dog

Roger Munoz Posted on Google 3 months ago

Negative experience: Giving 2 stars as the way of booking appointments and ordering prescriptions is a nightmare, they claim they answer the chats in 20 min, sometimes it's hours to get a response. They never answer telephone line and if you call emergency, which I understand they aren't even willing to transfer to the normal line. Online chat it's awful.

Fantastic experience: We had to take our pet cat, tiger, to be put to sleep. We can't thank them enough, all the staff were great and the vet put us at ease telling us about the full process. Tigar went to sleep very peacefully. So thank you all very much.

Fantastic experience: Very helpful and competent staff with fairly prompt appointments. Only issue I had was my cat never fell for the medicine in the food trick but thankfully his condition gradually improved and everything is somewhat normal again even though he (the cat obvs) can be a complete lunatic at times

Fantastic experience: Animal Trust Failsworth are the best! My SharPei can be quite a handful at the vets as she stresses very easily. So much so that other vets have muzzled her. But not at ATF. They are patient with her and it shows in her behaviour with them . No muzzle no aggression, just calm. Thanks guys

Fantastic experience: They went above and beyond for my boy Jasper! Dedicated waiting area for cats, as famously cats hate everything that’s not them luckily he’s ok!

alana fullen Posted on Google 6 months ago

Fantastic experience: Easy to find, inside is clean and well maintained. Staff on reception are polite. The vet and nurse who treated my cat were extremely polite and very knowledgeable, my cat is a bit skittish and they were great with him. Booked for his boosters in a few weeks would highly recommend. Prices are very fair too compared to other vets I've looked at.

There is this lovely vet there named-Ciara, ah her service is 11/10. She gives great advice, and will mention things we didn’t even realise, which shows how professional and caring she is P.S. she is very beautiful!!

Negative experience: EDIT: I would like to change my review. We have been dealing with Animal trust to get our cat treated for an unknown illness, and whilst the actual vets are incredibly helpful and clearly care about animals, the systems for contacting the vets are very poor. We have been waiting over 6 weeks for some test results and they keep saying 'We'll get back to you tomorrow' and never do. The phone call-in system is awful and the online chat always ends up with us being told 'We'll get back to you'. Our cat has just been sick 20 times in a row and I'm at a loss as to what I can do to help her because of this. I literally just called the emergency hotline and got transferred without the operator waiting for me to explain the situation. Not only that, but the prices are very similar to some other closer vets that specialise in cats. I can't see us wanting to be with these guys much longer if they don't improve the administration aspect of the business. Finally, it has been super awkward having to deal with our insurance with them. We've been having to pay up front and register our purchases through Frank, which is frustrating and means we have to pay all cash and claim it back. Not ideal!

Hi Aidan, sorry to hear you have been having problems with communications. If you would like to email us at [email protected] with your details we can look into this for you. We do also deal with direct insurance claims so you shouldn't have to pay for your cats entire treatment upfront. Once we hear from you we can see what options are available to you.

Fantastic experience: Lovely service, the receptionists Tina and Becky go above and beyond to make sure my very nervous cats feel calm and safe. I also had two of my beloved cats put to sleep here, and Becky really helped with this process. She went far beyond her job role to make sure that my girls passed on with peace and dignity and also made sure that I had pawprints, words can't thank her enough for her kindness during such a difficult time.

Negative experience: Rude receptionist sounded angry that I called first thing for my new kitten who needed urgent attention. If you don’t like your job, that’s fine. You don’t need to take it out on customers. She also ended the phone without saying ‘goodbye’.? Might seem petty but manners are free

Fantastic experience: Amazing amazing service. I'm petsitting for a friend's relative, and the pup had a few issues - aural yeast infection, skin damage/sensitivity, and blocked anal glands. Georgina was the vet who looked after us and she was a total superstar. I'm not at all surprised the reception staff refer to her as the Animal Whisperer! Not only did she address everything incredibly quickly, she was empathetic and had the most wonderful manner about her the entire time. The treatment was incredibly affordable for how much was remedied as well. He has had drops which should last for 4 weeks, had his anal glands unblocked, and has been prescribed steroids for his skin. This is a place run by people who do their work purely for the love of animals. Every member of staff we dealt with was lovely. The reception team themselves deserve an honourable mention, as they were incredibly accommodating, ensuring we could see Georgina despite the check in system having not communicated our arrival properly. System errors happen in all walks of life and I don't consider that a reflection on the service. Their response to it though, showed them to be a team who go above and beyond to ensure animal welfare. You guys deserve the world, thank you for looking after us!!

Fantastic experience: Our cocker Spaniel had blood coming from his ear, which turned out to be a tumour in his ear canal. This called for the removal of his ear canal. As you can imagine, this was very traumatic. We saw Georgina, who was fantastic and put our mind at rest. She explained everything in detail, every step of the way. We can't thank her, the other vets, the nurses, and receptionist who looked after our boy. He's now running around again.

Fantastic experience: Brilliant vets! All the people are nice & friendly, it's spotlessly clean & Jane (the vet we saw) did an amazing job on our Pip's splenectomy & put our minds at rest. Thank you from us & especially Pip & Jackie!

Sally Brown Posted on Google 11 months ago

Fantastic experience: I have been with Animal Trust vets for nearly 10 years with 5 of my animals. My first experience was when they saved my dog, Penny, when she had collapsed not breathing from laryngeal paralysis and gave us several more years with her. Most recently my extremely anxious rescue dog, Frato, has been seen for his tummy problems and the vet has been really understanding of his anxiety and careful not to put him under any unnecessary stress. All the staff we have dealt with over the years (nurses, reception and vets) have been great and although they are a very busy practice they have always managed to fit us in when we have had an urgent problem.

Bethany Norman Posted on Google 11 months ago

Negative experience: Would be 0 stars if I could. Our beloved sausage dog passed away recently and unexpectedly at the age of 1 due to a rare illness a couple of weeks ago, and as you would expect, we were completely and utterly devastated. He was on dialysis towards the end of his life in London, and therefore a local pet crematorium down South took care of him. The crematorium were amazing from start to finish (a complete opposite to this), provided constant updates, and informed us that his remains would be delivered to our vets (Animal Trust Failsworth) on Wednesday 28th June. The crematorium confirmed his remains had been delivered to Animal Trust Failsworth on the Wednesday at 1pm, and yet we heard nothing from the vets themselves despite having already informed them of what had happened and to let us know when the delivery arrived. Since you’re physically unable to contact this vets on the phone for anything other than an immediate emergency, my fiancé just went to the vets after we received the confirmation in order to collect his remains. He waited over 20 minutes just to be seen by the receptionists, who then spent another 10 minutes in the back looking for him and returned to say that his remains weren’t there. We decided to give them the benefit of the doubt despite the immense stress we were under not knowing where our loved dog’s remains were, and left it another day to see if they’d give us a call to let us know they’d found him. Over 24 hours later, we still hadn’t heard from Animal Trust and we therefore decided to ring the crematorium again to double check he had in fact been delivered. They confirmed once again that he had been delivered the day before, giving us all of the delivery details that meant his remains had in fact been delivered before my fiancé went to pick him up the previous day and they just hadn’t handed him over to us. Thankfully, after 2 days of complete and utter anxiety and stress after we were already grieving, no contact from the vets themselves and 3 separate visits from ourselves, they managed to find him so we could bring his remains home. I’m not usually one to leave bad reviews of places but this isn’t the first time that Animal Trust Failsworth has shown themselves to be either extremely overworked or just plain incompetent. And I don’t believe it’s acceptable to take such little care with a loved pets remains, with absolutely no concern on the affect it has on those who are already going through one of the worst times of their lives.

I'm truly sorry to hear about your recent experience and the difficulties you've encountered in trying to reach us. Please accept our sincere apologies for the extended wait times — we’re currently experiencing staff shortages, which have unfortunately affected both our phone and chat services.

I understand you were informed by the London veterinary team that the ashes had been returned yesterday. However, I can confirm they only arrived at our practice this morning (Thursday 29th). We apologise again for any frustration caused by the difficulty in making contact with The Animal Trust. However, please be assured that the ashes were not at the practice at the time of your enquiry yesterday.

Fantastic experience: My girl developed a bad skin condition and I was asked to monitor it and update with any changes good or bad, I did so and had an appointment scheduled for the Tuesday at this point. By Friday I was really concerned and rang animal trust at half 5. I was offered an appointment for first thing Saturday morning and I took my girl, Georgina took one look at her and said she's going down for surgery we need to get her sorted ASAP. She also sent samples of her skin off to a lab, took swabs and blood. I picked her up at 5pm, had 2 follow ups for her and she responded to surgery really well. I was updated on her diagnosis and luckily it's nothing that will spontaneously happen again, however if she does end up with anything suspicious again I know I can go straight back to the vets and I know she will be cared for properly. Georgina offered advice for her skin and recommended she takes a daily allergy tablet along with some wash for yeast overgrowth (popcorn feet) and a foam leave on freshener for her skin. We haven't used to wash yet as her stitches have only just healed, but the foam fresh is a big hit. From start to finish Georgina and the team were fantastic with her and reassured me they were doing everything they could to get her on the mend and back to her usual self. Since having her surgery she has been so full of life and happiness and jumping around like a puppy again (she's 8 in a couple of weeks). I wouldn't want anyone else to provide her care. Thank you for everything you did and more. We all appreciate the hard work you all put in daily.

Fantastic experience: I recently visited this vet and had a really positive experience. The staff at reception were incredibly helpful and friendly, making the whole process smooth and stress-free. The vet was very knowledgeable and took the time to explain everything clearly, which put my mind at ease and went above and beyond to make sure both me and my pet was comfortable. I am so glad this is my local vet and my pet has the best care he could possibly have.

Alysha Howard Posted on Google 11 months ago

Fantastic experience: We have been bringing our dog to this vets to see Georgina for a while and I can’t speak highly enough of her. Our dog is incredibly selective with people and situations, but Georgina has always handled her with such care, patience, and understanding. She takes the time to earn trust, never rushes, and genuinely seems to care not just for our dog’s health, but her emotional well-being too. It makes all the difference knowing our dog is in such capable and compassionate hands.

Fantastic experience: Brilliant service, my cat was in an RTA, the service I received was amazing. I understandably was upset but the vet put me at ease and took excellent care of my cat, undertook various tests got her pain under control ect, I can’t thank them enough she is alive and recovering well.

Fantastic experience: Love this vets, they’re amazing. I have used them for years now and wouldn’t go elsewhere. I have a dog that’s been diagnosed with a chronic illness, they’re so good with her. Georgina is her usual vet , but all of them are great. I have another one who is a bit reactive, and again they treat him so well. All really professional but friendly. The prices too are much cheaper than other places, especially with them not charging consultation fees. Really a five star service, and I would recommend them to anyone.

Negative experience: First visit - not impressed. Having been a client of the Animal Trust for several years, we’ve experienced some very high quality treatments and knowledgeable staff at the Bolton, Ashton and indeed the Ellesmere Port branches. On this occasion we could only get an appointment at Ashton. Initial appearance is a rather old and dilapidated building with a less than modern feel as you enter. Called in by the nurse who immediately wanted to take our little girl “Into the back” for a nail trim. We refused this and explained one of us would hold her for a nail trim, next minute there were two. Distinct lack of interaction with our girl, straight in with nail clippers and several comments “oh this will hurt her” Identified an ingrowing nail and again “erm this will hurt her” followed by “you’ll need to bathe in salt water to avoid any infection” Once done both were quick to turn around to face the PC and that was it… neither checked her paws or anything else. Stung for a charge of £27.50 which is much higher than the same treatment on several occasions at the different practices. All in all a very poor experience and we won’t be accepting an appointment at this clinic in the future. Pretty unusual given the experiences we’ve had at the other clinics with all of our animals.

Fantastic experience: They are 5 stars vets, a bit busy but couldn't complain. They looking for solution and give you options

Angela Mahandru Posted on Google 11 months ago

Negative experience: I believe this establishment has a strong reputation and provides excellent service. However, I was disappointed with my experience as a newcomer to the area. I parked in the carpark and went inside to inquire about the best parking option for picking up my niece from the school next door. The receptionist informed me that I would receive a fine, despite my explanation that I was merely seeking information. It would have been more efficient to ask my question inside rather than obstructing traffic outside the school. The receptionist mentioned she would consult the manager, but the manager refused and declined to waive the fine, which could have been resolved in an instant. While I am sure that this is a commendable establishment, the refusal to dismiss the parking fine for simply asking a question felt unnecessarily harsh.

Fantastic experience: Took my Rosie in for a dental procedure at Animal Trust in Failsworth and honestly couldn’t be happier with the care she received. The whole team were fantastic, and a special shoutout to Megan on reception—what an absolute star! Friendly, reassuring, and clearly loves the animals just as much as we do. Rosie’s now back home, fresher breath and all, and already back to barking like she owns the place. Huge thanks to everyone involved!

Fantastic experience: Absolutely 100% will recommend this vet to anyone! After being with my previous vet and both my dogs being seen 1) for an eye ulcer 2) for a histiocytoma, I was so unhappy with the care they boy received. The eye ulcer was getting worse and my concern for the histiocytoma was not being addressed. Took both the dogs here for a 2nd opinion, within 2 weeks the eye ulcer has now gone and today got the all clear & the vet explained that the histiocytoma was more than likely that, but there was a query/concern for cancer which my previous vet either brushed off or was uninterested in exploring this as a possibility as it was never mentioned! It was sampled and sent off and FORTUNATELY, it was infact a histiocytoma. But I was so pleased they wanted to explore this further and rule out the big C word! I really believe if I continued to see my previous vet regarding the eye ulcer my poor boy would possibly have suffered for much longer, or potentially needing his eye removed! He never had the correct treatment as they wrongly advised the usage of the treatment and never gave him the extra treatments he needed! This will be the vet that I will use for Aslong as I have pets!

I'm very satisfied with the service they supply they are caring and understanding the operation cost £719 vets now charged me nearly £800 for consultancy fees and injections and wanted £5000 to do the operation go vets charged me £126.65 for consultation and one injection and they wanted £1000 + for the operation if I had gone to the animal trust first it would have just cost £719 so my advice is go to the animal trust before you go anywhere else for a good honest service

Fantastic experience: 100% excellent service, genuinely cares for our dog who has complex seizures, lots of great advice and goes out of her way to help us progress investigations into what is causing her seizures

Negative experience: I respect animal trust and their ethos. I am a big fan of the Bolton location of animal trust. However, failsworth just doesn’t cut it. Let’s start with the receptionists. The last 2 occasions I’ve been, I’ve been ignored by 2 different young women working at the reception. The first time I let it slide, but the 2nd time with a different receptionist really got to me and I had to come write a review. She completely ignored me, and served a white middle aged man instead of me. Then when she was calling my dogs name for my prescription - she literally looked right through me and past me out into the rest of the waiting room. Until I stepped even closer and said ‘yes that’s me’. She did apologise and then handled my bill. But it just struck me how i’m a British Asian woman, and I wasn’t ‘seen’ - and the white middle aged man was more important than me and was instantly served and guided to the right place. I had to wait a very long time for the system to work so they could log my prescriptions and charge me. I had to wait for 45 minutes one time. I tried to make a claim from my insurers to pay the bill. The staff were clearly not aware of the procedure to do this. At the Bolton branch they are really good with this. I don’t trust they’ve submitted my claim properly as the form they gave me was also just a Microsoft doc and not the official pet plan form Bolton give. So I will be submitting a claim myself online too to make sure it goes through, as I don’t trust they’ve done it correctly. The vets are ok, but don’t listen to my concerns properly. At this stage, when my dog is vomiting I know what medication and diet protocol he needs to get him back on track. As he’s been through this type of illness many many times. But my medication requests, based on past vomiting occurrences were not taken on board by the vet. I ended up having to attend the vets with my anxious dog (who hates the vets) about 4 times and was given a whole bunch of different meds (that didn’t work) until I finally got given the right medication for him, even though I requested the meds on visit 1. After having the right medication, he was back to his normal self within 24 hours. Bolton animal trust is just the best in the area. Don’t bother with failsworth, head to Bolton. If it’s a longer drive for you, trust me - it’s worth it.

Fantastic experience: Our dog was treated at the Failsworth branch, from start to finish was a very good, service. We were referred via our own vet due to the nature of the operation necessary. He did have quite an invasive procedure, The vet did the exact same procedure as a specialist vet quote (10 minutes consultation and £200 lighter!) the specialist quoted £3000, at the very first appointment the feel of the Animal Trust was all about our dog not the money, it was a pleasure knowing our money wasn’t going to an ambulance chasing “specialist!” Also the specialist quote was conveniently on the button at what a pet insurance would pay up to.

Fantastic experience: Cannot recommend this vets practice enough . Very thorough examination of our fur baby on first visit and extremely helpful advice from the Vet. Encouraged us to speak with the Veterinary Surgeon regarding Boas surgery . We were given an appointment very quickly and again had a great experience listening to the surgeons advice, very detailed and easily understandable. Booked in for surgery and although I was a nervous wreck, the veterinary surgeon Jane was amazing with our dog and helped to calm my nerves . She rang me as soon as the surgery was completed with a detailed breakdown of how it went and was more than helpful on our follow up appointments. Our dog is now fully recovered and doing amazing. Will never go anywhere else. They are fantastic .

Fantastic experience: Wonderful. Some of the best, friendliest, most caring and passionate vets I’ve come across. All staff are always very good with my dog who absolutely loves coming here for the fuss she gets. I trust them completely with my dogs care which I haven’t always been able to say with other previous vets. Thank you so much.

Fantastic experience: Can’t thank the team at Animal Trust enough for saving my girl. She had a boas episode and went blue which she ended up needing surgery, they waited in the car park for her, ran away with her and saved her life. I’ve never saw care and compassion like it, towards both me and my dog. From admission to discharge it was unbelievable. All the team are great but Georgina and Bobbie were her team during her emergency, they performed her surgery too and dealt with all her aftercare and follow up appointments. The level of care was second to none. Thank you guys so much, love me and Winnie xxx

Fantastic experience: Harvey had an appointment today with Georgina at Failsworth Animal Trust. All the staff are friendly and approachable, Georgina is brilliant, my Rottie has hip dysplasia, Georgina took her time to explain his new treatment plan, I didn't feel rushed when I asked questions. She injected his Librela injection without him knowing. I particularly like the fact that if I need to ask a question about medication, I can go online and chat direct to the Failsworth branch and I always get a reply,

Fantastic experience: Such an amazing vets, I can't reccommend them enough. My dog was very ill for a few months, and I genuinely thought I was going to lose her. Throughout my dog's treatment, the vets were incredibly thorough, honest, patient and caring. They offered lots of suggestions to help manage my dog, while she was healing. Thanks to all the team at Aniaml Trust in Failsworth and Bolton x

Fantastic experience: I cannot recommend Animal Trust enough! My dog needed life saving surgery for Pyometra, the service we received was excellent. The staff are compassionate and love animals! My girl ran in for her check up and was so excited to see the vet- Georgina. The price was also reasonable in comparison to our initial quote at an OUT OF HOURS VETS.The surgery went well and we was updated throughout, and have had two follow up appointments to ensure all is well. It is truly an organisation with genuine love and care for animals. I cannot recommend enough. Thankyou so much!

Fantastic experience: The vets here are amazing (especially Georgina) my cat has to come every 4 weeks for an injection and they are so accommodating and helpful. Definitely recommend

Andrew Mac Posted on Google 1 year ago

Negative experience: I wonder if the Animal trust have a conscience.... I'm housebound can't go out on my own. My dog was very poorly 2 weekends ago and I asked them if Animal trust could come out to him due to my circumstances and how poorly my dog was and they refused... They gave me a number for a mobile vet in Brooke in Norfolk, yep Norfolk to Failsworth. I couldn't get anyone else as all the mobile vets was closed till Monday, I found one in Trafford Manchester when the mobile vet came out he was so poorly he had to be put to sleep. The Animal trust could of come out under the circumstances and done something but the Animal Trust refused to help me. And my best friend 11 years old has now gone.

Fantastic experience: Had to visit Animal Trust at Failsworth quite a lot lately, mostly due to age related problems with my two dogs. We've been going there for over 10 years now and have never had any complaints. All the staff are brilliant. The dogs enjoy their visits, and the vets and receptionists always fuss over them. My eldest dog recently needed a cruciate ligament op, which cost around half of what other vets charge. Winner all round.

Fantastic experience: Having a booked appointment, and collected my dog's medications within 15 mins. That is what an appointment is for!!! I hate waiting endlessly when an appointment was booked. Great system to book appointment online, and fantastic health plan to spread my dog's medical charges.

Fantastic experience: Been here quite a few times recently and always had a good experience, even some complex issues have been sorted for one of our little pack …. Nice friendly staff too

Fantastic experience: I cannot recommend this vets enough. Since getting Humphrey as a pup as a first time dog owner and our pretty regular visits , the whole team including at the reception and pharmacy have been nothing but helpful, caring, loving and understanding in whatever circumstances or situations were there for this timeThe online chat feature is brilliant as I was able to send photos of issues enabling an appointment quick time and seen within a couple of hours. Its the only vets I've heard of amongst friends that don't charge per appointment which has saved me a fortune!! Nothing is too much trouble, we love the team there and how amazing they are with him

Fantastic experience: I can't recommend Animal Trust Failsworth enough! It felt perfect from the start. The receptionist was very friendly and totally calmed me down. Tasha, the nurse who saw Penny, was amazing, so caring and professional; you could tell she loved animals. She made sure Penny was comfortable and well cared for. What I love is that it's a non-profit that truly prioritises the animals first. The care is awesome, the prices are fair, and the staff go above and beyond. They're honest and upfront, making sure the pets get exactly what they need without pushing extra stuff. The service from everyone was top-notch. I'm thrilled with how Penny was treated, and we'll totally be back. If you want a vets that genuinely cares, this is the place!

Fantastic experience: What can I say? Without the wonderful team at Failsworth our boy would not be here. After getting a wrong diagnosis from a different vets we came here and were treated with such kindness by every single member of staff. The vets are all top notch! I wouldn’t go anywhere else and would urge others to do the same.
