Blue Cross animal hospital, Victoria: Reviews
Fantastic experience: Purrfect thank you for being so kind and caring our Domino was a little worried but you treated her beautifully hopefully we won't need to come again.. but if we do we know the best place for our kitties
Fantastic experience: They are so lovely and absolutely dedicated
Fantastic experience: Very good service. Quickly seen to. Very friendly staff and doctors. Doctor spent time showing me the X-ray of my cat and explaining the problem to me. She was very gentle with the cat and was professional and knowledgeable. Prices are very reasonable. I really hope the Blue Cross stays. Great Service.
Positive experience: Very Friendly staff. Vet was Great, and everything was explained well.Animals were really looked after.
Fantastic experience: My cat Liquorice had a positive experience here and his dental treatment went smoothly. I am really grateful they helped him.
Positive experience: For the most part I have good experiences at blue cross. But sadly my cat died on Christmas Day, I was completely heartbroken. I knew this day was coming soon as she died at 16 but it was still hard. One thing I really didn’t appreciate, and I can understand it’s Christmas Day so potentially they’re trying to keep their spirits up, but whilst I’m explicitly crying and devastated, kissing my cat goodbye, right beside me in the same room, the nurses/doctors were giggling, laughing about their own jokes, and I didn’t say anything as I’m too distraught and also didn’t want to make a scene but I did keep thinking like can’t you do that outside of the room? Like why beside me whilst I’m crying? I felt it was unprofessional and lacked a little care and sympathy. It’s one of the reasons why I went with a different cremation company that was 24/7 and picked her up the very next day instead of the recommended company that would have picked her up a week later. I didn’t want my dear cat to be staying there for too long. I will say when they spoke to me directly, they were respectful and showed care but the moment I began to give my attention to my cat, kissing and crying, they would begin their side jokes again right beside me. The receptionist remained professional, attentive and sympathetic throughout and I really appreciate her. This was my first pet ever, and she died, and I’ve never had to experience this at a vet before, I hope they read this and have more care in the future. I’m not saying you can’t keep your spirits up and make jokes, but make them in private (time and place is key) not beside someone when they’re saying goodbye to their cat and clearly in distress.
Fantastic experience: Amazing and very understanding towards pets knew what they were doing and didn't ask for payment straight away as my cat was was extremely unwell and they acted quickly highly recommended thank you
Positive experience: I recently came across a stray dog in Central London. The dog appeared to be a large breed, weighing approximately 25 kg and aged around 6 to 8 months. He was black and brown and temperament very boisterous. My first response was to call 101 for support. They referred me to the dog warden service. The dog warden advised me to secure the dog in a safe, enclosed area if I could do so without putting myself at risk, and informed me that only then could they collect the dog. I asked the call handler whether taking the dog to the Blue Cross was an option, as I was just around the corner, and they confirmed that it was. Had I believed the dog to be dangerous, I would have called 999. We arrived outside the Blue Cross, where staff scanned the dog for a microchip in order to make contact with the owner. The professionalism and strong work ethic of the staff member were outstanding. I believe it would have been overwhelming for the dog to go inside the vets due to the presence of other cats, dogs, and strong smells. The vet waited outdoors patiently, with a smile on their face, despite the rain, while waiting for the owner to arrive and collect the dog. Chillandchi
Negative experience: Rude receptionist whoever the lady is with the non British accent who lacks efficient customer service communication skills..that picks up the phone, extremely poor service.
Fantastic experience: Staff were pleasant. The trainees were brilliant, and the vet. They were all amazing with my dog
Negative experience: Sadly an awful experience. I took my old cat to revision because I noticed he was acting weird. After being seen and taken a blood and urine samples on Monday, the laboratory called me on Wednesday to communicate the cat has thyroid and I had to collect medication for him. I went same day and I gave the cat his medication. However he didn't improve not even a little, so I called to the emergency number, on Thursday morning, explained the situation, and I asked for an appointment for a same day as matter of urgency. The kid that was at the phone said that wasn't possible, and he only offered me a vet call next day evening, also I had to paid for the consultation. Sadly during the night I had to see how the cat suffer, and I see him exhale Friday morning. He suffered, he couldn't find peace that night. I feel responsible but I really would have appreciate if someone have heard that was an emergency. I explained the cat wasn't look good at all, and I was worried, and I need it a vet appointment. Also I believe the cat didn't get the right diagnosis from first day and then their "emergency number "clearly doesn't know what's an emergency. I just wanted to prevent people and get a second vet opinion if you belive your pet is sick and don't trust completely their first diagnosis. I truly thought they knew, and i trusted but I am sure the cat has more conditions, not only the thiroid. ( the cat it was a stray cat that I took in home) I know this is a charity, but I think they should care a bit more a the patients, the pets. I would have preferred to put down my cat instead of seeing him suffer as he did. That will break my heart forever.
Negative experience: Called for my sick cat and was told I would have to wait for them to receive medical history and approve things before even being able to get an appointment and transfer the pet over. I called back after not hearing and was told they would try to sort it asap. After over an hour of not hearing back despite them saying they would call back I called back only to be told things were approved a while ago and now because it was out of hours, which it wouldn’t have been at the time of approval they could no longer transfer the pet. Super neglectful and meant that my cat could not be treated and passed away. What kind of charity can’t even be bothered to call back.
Fantastic experience: Happy to help your animals
Fantastic experience: i was extremely worried about my cat but megan was so kind and helpful. thankyou so much <3
Fantastic experience: Very nice services from the staffs and on time
Fantastic experience: Knowledgeable helped my dog who couldn't walk sent home with medication and advice best vets around
Fantastic experience: While I understand Mich Sabalo’s concern about being turned down for help one must also understand that vet costs are not cheap and many pensioners and people on benefits have pets and the cost is high in maintaining these pets There are homeless who for the life of me have pets and i cannot understand why they would when they themselves cannot maintain themselves I have been in the same boat ⛴️ frustrated when a charity would not help but now that i help a disabled friend with his pet i understand where the poor Blue Cross Stands in helping people who really cannot afford it. There HR cost must be high as well as Staff have to get paid and some vets do volunteer work after hrs So they do an excellent job have great personnel who do a great job I cannot falter them in anyway
Fantastic experience: Look after both our cats love this place
Fantastic experience: Very friendly people who are caring and supportive
Fantastic experience: They are excellent staff took care or our cat tiger explained what we have to do for when we get home with so much confidence thank you so much blue cross Victoria london
Negative experience: Very Disappointed – Charity Should Mean Help for All in Need I’m extremely disappointed by how this veterinary charity operates. I’m someone who usually covers my own vet costs, but like many people, I’ve recently hit a rough patch financially. When my pets suddenly became ill at the same time, I reached out for help—not expecting full coverage, just even a small reduction in vet bills, which would have made a huge difference. Instead, I was turned away because I don’t live in an eligible postcode and I’m not receiving benefits. I am working, just facing temporary financial hardship. I can still house and feed my pets, but affording sudden vet bills for multiple animals is a real struggle. What is a charity for if it can’t help people like me—people who don’t regularly ask for help, who donate when they can, and who genuinely care about their animals? It feels incredibly unfair that help is only offered to a narrow group of people. While I don’t wish to judge others, it's hard not to feel frustrated when working people in temporary crisis are excluded from support, while others who aren’t contributing to the economy are prioritized. It’s easy to ask the public for donations, but apparently much harder to give help to the very same public when they need it. The strict and impersonal criteria make me question how genuinely charitable this service really is. Charity should be based on need, not just checkboxes. Very upsetting experience. I expected compassion—not bureaucracy.
Fantastic experience: There were very good with my friend's cat who was named Tammy Fletcher, who had to be put to sleep because she had cancer of the stomach. But was so lovely, you sent a sympathy card too Lisa Fletcher. Thanks so much
Negative experience: Visited blue cross Victoria earlier today, my cat had been vomiting for more than 24 hrs now and wasn’t passing any urine or stools. Was hoping they’d be helpful, as I’ve never seen my cat this way. All they advised me was to give her “bland food” and gave my cat a shot for her upset stomach. Paid £55 all for that. No blood test, no UTI testing, no X-ray. They had said they couldn’t identify if it’s UTI because we didn’t have urine sample… how am I suppose to collect urine sample when my cat isn’t passing any urine?! Then said come back tomorrow if she vomits again?? To spend another £55 for them to do nothing? Save your money and go else where, this vet is lazy and couldn’t care less, the veterinarian should be ashamed and go look for an easier job.
Negative experience: I had an extremely distressing experience at Blue Cross Vet. I brought in my senior dog, who despite being elderly, was still walking, eating, and breathing well. She had developed a swollen belly, so I wanted her checked over by a vet. Instead of being seen by a doctor, we were only seen by a nurse, who told me the vet would check her too — but that never happened. Without any proper examination, the nurse started suggesting euthanasia, saying things like “you should just let her go” and claiming she was in pain. I was shocked — how could such a serious suggestion be made without a vet even looking at her? My dog may be slower due to age, but she was far from needing to be put down. As I was preparing to leave, the nurse offered to give her a painkiller injection. I agreed initially, thinking it might help. But just before administering it, I asked what it was — and she told me it was the first injection given before any surgery, which would put her to sleep for 4–6 hours. I was horrified and immediately refused treatment and left, but they still did charge me. Now, more than two weeks later, my dog is still eating, walking, and enjoying life. I know she’s old and our time is limited, but I’m so grateful I trusted my instincts and didn’t follow their suggestion. Euthanasia should only ever be considered when a pet is truly suffering and has no quality of life left — not when they’re still engaging with the world around them. This experience left me shaken and disappointed. Please be cautious, especially if your pet is older. Always ask questions and advocate for them — they can’t speak, but we can.
Fantastic experience: I can't praise the people at The Blue Cross Victoria enough, they went above and beyond to help my poor cat and treated me with compassion and kindness when we had to say goodbye.
Fantastic experience: My first experience with blue cross was an emergency for my beloved dachshund who went dangerously downhill during her pregnancy. They managed to save her and her puppies. Kept me updated frequently and were just so lovely through the whole process I’ll forever be grateful!!!
Fantastic experience: Amazing and helpful staff, and really great care for my pet from the vets.
Fantastic experience: I’ve had a recent trip for my pet lucky, both katey and Rachel were helpful, but katey specifically was very considerate and careful with my cat making sure he got the most comfortable visit. It’s people like her who make me feel at ease knowing my cats are in good hands.!
Fantastic experience: Awesome Hospital Great Help They Really Do Take Care Of Your Pet Just Give Them A Donation Cause They Really Can Save Your Pets Life
Fantastic experience: Love this place, help animals that can't afford to be taken to full fee charging vets. Great staff
Fantastic experience: Fantastic. Very nice reception staff, very professional surgeons. Lovely, busy place. My cat is getting well after medical procedure very well. I wish we can help them all financially by donations (also donate food, toys, blankets for our lovely pets) Big, fat thank you for all in Blue Cross Animal Hospital. Good you are
Negative experience: They recommended that our rabbit get neutered. She went into shock after the operation and passed away. Wish we never got her neutered here or got neutered at all. Risks were downplayed and said that she’ll be fine. If it was high risk we would have never gone through with it. Rest in peace sweet angel
Fantastic experience: Great service to help animals. My franchise dog had Seizure. Call Monday and they gave a us next day appointment. The vet examined him . Surgery will take place on 25th of April Really appreciate their help all for people with low income help with cost of the treatment. Otherwise we can't afford to pay thousands for surgery. Hope my little boy go over it and recover Thank you blue cross
Fantastic experience: Very nice vets and vets and nurses, very nice, helpful, very grateful humans we are with their help with our dog, very devoted people to their profession towards animals.
Fantastic experience: Blue Cross have real life angels who work there....they give care and such a special experience when you are worried about your pet
Fantastic experience: Extremely professional n compassionate. Put me at ease , and welcomed any questions I had
Negative experience: My relative had their pet admitted last very unwell. They have not given any updates even though they’ve been called 7 times. This is heartbreaking for the owner of the pet.
Fantastic experience: Best kind careing lovely ladys the staff are amazing <3
Fantastic experience: After trying hard to help my little dog bella with medication, she had to be put to sleep on 4/2/25. Sadly I can't remember the name of the lovely vet who treated her, but I have to say she could not have been more empathetic and kind. She was genuinely upset with me, and made a horrible situation bearable. I hope she sees this post and knows who she is. I can't believe some of the negative remarks on here. I have found the staff at both Merton and Victoria wonderful. Don't hesitate to take your pets there for help.
Fantastic experience: Almost a month ago I lost my cat, my sweetheart, a piece of me. He was eaten away by a very aggressive cancer. It was two months of a lot of fighting, but the cancer won. I want to thank Dr. Laura and the entire team for everything they did and for the [absolutely perfect] surgery they performed on Bob. We all did everything we could for his life, Bob fought bravely and then death was the end. Unfortunately! The emptiness and pain that Bob left behind is enormous.
Fantastic experience: I have taken a friend's cat here on their behalf several times and they've always been compassionate, friendly and professional. Well worth donating money to if you can.
Fantastic experience: This is a very special place with commitment to excellent essential work, I cannot thank the Blue Cross Victoria enough for what they did for my little Snoop Dog throughout his long life , keep up your work for the grateful animal lovers of London
Negative experience: I was supposed to have an appointment today (16/01/2025 at 13:15, for our 17 1/2 year old cat. As I was travelling by car and stuck in traffic I asked a family member who was in the hospital to notify reception we would be a few minutes late. We arrived at 13:18 to find out our appointment had been changed to 14:30. I was not going to wait over an hour in a very busy reception with an older cat and take the risk of the stress potentially causing harm,as a vet from the Blue Cross has previously told me and sudden shock or stress could cause her to literally keel over and die of a heart attack. Needless to say I have now chosen to deregister both our cat and older Dog who is nearly 12, and the receptionist seemed only too happy to do so.
Fantastic experience: The staff was very patient and understanding also able to communicate effectively. You were able to ask questions, so things are appropriately understood!
Fantastic experience: Only been once, but they were brilliant. Thank you, you're a god send X the only thing, is I wish you were closer, but also glad, that you're central so that more people can get to you. X
Fantastic experience: Absolutely delightful my furry friend was in a serious need of attention and stuff were professional and gentle with my furry friend
Positive experience: Unfortunately a bad experience for me. The service overall is excellent for those who need help but I feel some vets there just don’t love animals anymore and cos people don’t have a lot of money going there they just don’t care the same. I was told several times to put my cat down without a proper explanation by a vet who had no compassion. She just wanted to get through her list. She told me this after they took money for neutering which made his situation worse. They wouldn’t keep him over night when he wouldn’t stop bleeding even thought I thought they are a hospital. My cat did get put down in the end in a more caring environment but communication was mixed as there is no cohesion between the emergency team and the regular team. They emphasise too much on neutering and will take you off the list if you don’t have it done. Because of this experience I’m now scared to get another pet done incase it goes wrong like the previous one.
Fantastic experience: Always excellent I've been going to the blue cross for years and their care, compassion and dedication are second to none. They are truly a national treasure
Fantastic experience: When I was low on money, they saved my cat by taking her in. I'm forever greatful for what they have done for Lily. She is now doing well. Thank you so much.
Fantastic experience: Lovely staff, very kind and understanding, very lucky to have the service they provide
Fantastic experience: They looked after my baby boy wonderfully, he has never been away for me in his whole 4 Years and they loved and cared for him all day. Thank you so much to all of the staff, i was so Anxious to Leave him, but they were all amazing. He came home had a good sleep and woke up the next morning his usual lively self
Fantastic experience: Always prefer to take my cats to blue cross freindly atmosphere , and they offer pheramone towels to calm yr anxious pet.
Fantastic experience: Very very helpful my poor cat is an indoor cat but she got out and got hurt blue cross see me they was very understanding I'm so grateful thank you to all the team ❤️
Negative experience: My poor dog is sick, she is literally dying. We took her to blue cross and the receptionists (apart from the Italian lady who was trying to be helpful) were smirking saying “we can’t do nothing” very horrible for an animal charity. They saw my dog suffering in pain, I even asked if they could have a look and told them it’s a medical emergency and they said there’s nothing they can do. The girl with the red hair and the guy were so disrespectful they could see I was so stressed out, I couldn’t believe it and they could see my dog in distress and pain. People like this should not be allowed to work with animals, they have no compassion. I will try to make the faces of these horrible people viral on social media as I have a platform and friends who are influencers, I will make sure to have this known. This will not finish here I will make sure of it.
Fantastic experience: Such lovely & helpful staff at Victoria Blue Cross vets, the vet I saw explained everything told me what I need & all the steps going forward regarding my dog, how much things will be & gave me all the relevant emails & numbers. I feel so much more relaxed now & know what to do & what to expect. Would highly recommend Victoria Blue Cross.
Negative experience: If negative stars was an option I would choose it . As an emergency hospital for pets you shouldn’t have one vet at hand . They booked me an appointment for 17:00 when I arrived they had told me that I need to wait 2 HOURS. I then had to wait even longer because they told me the only vet on site was in surgery. If you know your hospital is very busy don’t book people in especially with one vet and charge people £10 to not even be seen . Another point is that they have the rudest workers / nurses I don’t know what they get paid but they scream at people , give nasty looks and talk to you as if your stupid (in a bad way) . At some points they even ignored me and just went into their little staff room . Why charge people , book people in to only tell them to wait 2+ hours . It doesn’t make sense . Blue cross do better I understand your a charity but it doesn’t seem like your prepared at all . I’ve seen a lot more charities do better .
Fantastic experience: Very easy to find. Very friendly and professional staff. Felt very safe and very knew from the start my pets are in the right hands of medical care.
Negative experience: It is with great disappointment that I share my experiences with Blue Cross. Since registering I had the impression that they would be a helpful vet especially for the vulnerable. Unfortunately, the opposite. Throughout the year it’s been difficult to get through to their phone lines and then when I wanted a check up for my dogs there would be an additional amount on top I.e the consultation. It appears that they are unwilling to give vet treatment unless they want to perform desperate medical procedures. It’s a £20 I’ve wasted and inform you to be aware of this charity for their extra fees!
Fantastic experience: I have never met a more caring group of individuals in my life. From the reception team to the nurses and vets. Even the students manner was exceptional. I have never felt confident in any vets I have ever been to - the blue cross has changed that for me. They really deserve recognising for the hard work and care they show.
Negative experience: Phone answering service is a complete shambles and need restructuring to make some sense. Tried to make a cancellation but went around in circles. Absolutely ridiculous. Recorded answering service only, can't reach anyone to make or confirm a cancellation.
Fantastic experience: Incredible service and so grateful for everything they done for my pet and I. Eternally gracious; What would we do without Bluecross and similar charitable pet and animal healthcare services. We salute you! We clap for you! We support you!
Positive experience: Seen within the same day of my cat needing treatment. I don't feel like as much was done as could have been considering it was related to his breathing. Saying that. I understand the B.C is a charity. When URGENT care is needed. Pets are well looked after.
Fantastic experience: This place is OK staff seems reasonably ok but I feel my cat needed a few more days there as I have a disability taking her home with a tube in her neck a few medications it was hard work every few hours I ordered the feed on amazon quite expensive I donated 3 full unopened bottles to them
Negative experience: They should not even class themselves as an animal hospital as our cat was rushed in less then 24 hours after this review is being written & has now sadly passed, did they not only find fluid and other bits and pieces on he's lungs but also lapsed into a coma in less then 24 hours of them admitting him, all of which apparently was not picked up by them a week beforehand when they saw him for a totally unrelated injury at another branch (Merton)
Negative experience: Blue cross used to be a wonderful vets for all animals every shape and size and species. However over the last year have rapidly gone downhill. The receptionist - a young man for starters is an insensitive and rude individual. I had an appt for my dog there last week but also had my bunny with me who had sadly passed away, he was rushing me to hand my rabbit over without asking if I’d like to spend some time with him first to which I replied no, I’d like to say goodbye and have some paw prints and fur taken, he huffed and puffed and rolled his eyes at me, he has no compassion at all! Also visited them out of hours when another of my rabbits wasn’t well, again the 2 nurses I saw were incredibly rude, cold and we’re going on about money before I had my rabbit checked, given that this was an emergency they were more concerned with talking to me about how much money I will be owing them for that night! Spoke to a lady on the phone last night regarding a separate incident with a third rabbit I have, who was accusing me of not vaccinating my rabbit - which I had done and I have proof of this! Absolutely disgusted in blue cross for their lack of sensitivity and kindness when people are going through the worst time with their pets being ill.. not to mention they also misdiagnosed my rabbit on the night I visited them out of hours. Blue cross you need to pull your finger out and start treating your clients better!! Will now be looking for another low cost vet!!!
Fantastic experience: The Blue Cross is and has been a relief and great saviour for my dog-dawta and if im concerned i call them anytime. My dog stayed some nights there after surgery, i was distraught and anxiety was high. When i got the call my boom can come home i've neveroved so fast in my life. I went brought her new toys and got to go upstairs as my dog-dawta is protective. She saw me and was in awe, i was and still get in tearz of joy. I truly give thankz for the Blue Cross and Hope Project all branches. I wish you all long life like a tortoise and more life for the patients. ❤
Fantastic experience: Excellent service. Blue Cross was our vet for our cat for 17 years and was able to help her go to sleep when she needed to be earlier this month. We are heartbroken but cannot fault the brilliant care we got with Blue Cross throughout the years. Thank you so much for everything.
Fantastic experience: They saved my cats life and were so friendly, helpful and caring. Words can't express how grateful I am. Huge thank you !!xx ❤️
Fantastic experience: Very friendly and polite staff. The vet staff that we saw explained to us what was happening, and the treatments available to us. They had a dedicated cat waiting area, and towels coated in something that can help soothe pets in distress while waiting.
Fantastic experience: Blue Cross are Angels. They provided us with a treat now pay layer service when our cat was on deaths doors and we couldn't afford to pay the same day. We've since paid and also given a donation on top for their amazing work. Thank you Blue Cross!
Fantastic experience: I love blue cross. I have been coming since 2014. And always walked out happy. I continue to use blue cross.
Negative experience: Constant mistreatment of me as a disabled person, telling me one thing and then the complete opposite the next call, done by the same person. Disappointing service especially for the people who need them. Edit: Decided to start cancelling my appointments and removed me from the practice for no longer being in the catchment area even though the website says I just need to re-register. Provided no information and is always just plain rude. I hate that I need to rely on this service.
Negative experience: My cat is very poorly they have delayed his treatment for weeks they only have 1 van driver for people. With health problems means long waits for treatment I struggled to get him there today I was sent away wait till the 8th meanwhile I can put my hand round his little body and he was a big fluffy Ragdoll now he’s the size of a kitten he’s so thin he’s had diarrhoea for weeks at one time they used to care for the animals that seems lacking now, my cat by the time he was seen I had to go to a private vet as blue cross turned him away by that time it was too late his kidney function had died he needed removal of kidney which blue cross wouldn’t do so I had to do a go fund me to raise money for his surgery at a private vet . My other cat I thought they would make it right with they stabilised his inflammatory bowel on steroid injections I paid for solencia injection monthly which at the time was £40 a month they then were raising that to £50 a month then he was starting to do better then mid they added consultation costs for vets and nurses which would cost £85 a month I couldn’t afford that so they wouldn’t see my cat they stopped his steroid treatment suddenly which resulted in my cat losing his vision, as if that wasn’t bad enough they couldn’t care less that I had to rehome him a young cat with one kidney a seven year old cat blind at the hands of blue cross putting money over animals and my cat was rehomed leaving me devastated and my two other cats pining for him. Then a day after my cat was rehomed a was unwell and grieving I received an email from cross stating they were withdrawing the service from me talk about cruel oh and demanding £47 of my account within 7 days . When I told them I had to rehome my cat they couldn’t care less you can see in the photos Monty was already losing his eyesight . I put a complaint into blue cross nobody has got back to be or offered any empathy for the loss of my beloved Monty only 7 . I had to rehome him as I couldn’t bear to see him in pain with his osteoarthritis .The last one was Monty’s eyes before he lost his vision The two boys Marlo whom didn’t get as well as he did because of blue cross but because of Astros oil a product he’s influencer for , note the bond of these two cats now severed and my two cats are fretting . The damage this has done to all of us can’t be repaired we all sad without Monty . Blue cross can afford to advertise on tv but not help the animals who need them the most
Fantastic experience: Amazing staff from the receptionists to the vets and nurses. Was seen today by Dr Abi and she was fantastic. She helped calm my anxious lab and was approachable and kind.
Negative experience: Being on hold and waiting for someone to pick up for 1h 12min on the EMERGENCY line is unacceptable and dangerous Not only did I wait that long for someone to pick up, I waited 2h 30m in the actual building for a vet to even see my cat that had a blocked bladder for over 24h. This is a life threatening problem…
Negative experience: The staff here never ever and I mean NEVER answer the phone. My cat urgently needs stitches and has an open wound. I'm stuck on listening to the answer machine on an endless loop. I previously needed to get through last year and after calling 9 days on the trot I finally gave up and had to use Google articles to treat my cat. I've used Bluecross throughout the 90s and slays experienced a pleasant experience. Over the past 10 years it's really gone downhill.
Negative experience: I have a great deal bad experience fir long time deakking with bunch of ingorant of vets that work there . They are so called charity but they asking for money from us every time and do not have care about our dogs that are our light of our lives. They are compulsary liers what one vet said the other vet tell a very different story. They are not professional as doctor i cought them telling lies all the time . Imaging if you have not medical knowledge what will hapened to you?? Omg. The keep changing story and the worse part is cavarage there. My dog died there after they keep him overnight to give fluids for 24 hours to stop vomiting after stomach upset. But they gave him methadone which sent him in cardiac arrest and died thare alone with no one of us . The worse part i have been called a night before by vet to be told that my dog is doing well and to come next day to pic up , but imstead i was told your dog died of heart . They even tried to pull woll over your eyes. I told them i am doctor and at that point stoped justifying and admited that it might be wrong medicament for my dog. It was so special so cute and so lovely and died alone after pounting and suffering from their brutle mistake. I am in biggest ever pain since my dog went to earlier . Please do not trust them if your dog left out of your site . Do not sign papers unles you read carefully and please insist that not give painkiller without your consent . I did not give them consent to give painkillet. I am heartbroken they killed us too.
Negative experience: Absolutely appalling service. Had taken my dog in early Wednesday morning for fear of her health. Was told that we’d get a follow up phone call on Thursday morning, to discuss plans and findings moving forward. With the possibility that she may need to be “put-down” After chasing up, and phoning Blue Cross at 5pm on the Thursday. We were told that the vets were doing their rounds and that we would receive a call with an update, later Thursday evening. They’ve since closed for the evening without any form of communication all day. My wife and I are frantic with worry regarding our beloved family pet. And are now in limbo as to where or how she is. I’m sure that when it comes to settling the bill however, that they’ll be far more prompt and keen to liaise! No delays on that front I’m sure! We couldn’t afford private health care due to age of our dog but will still be paying a substantial amount for what is a “service”. Albeit a VERY POOR one at that! We will no doubt now, head to bed for a sleepless night pending a Friday follow-up. Lack of communication and the fear of “not knowing” is wrong and unfair! And at 1:30am Friday We’ve now deceived the dreaded call that my Nessa will be put to sleep. Absolutely disgraceful level of service. No consideration to us as owners and furthermore our Nessa. “Let’s keep her in another 24 hours longer than we have to, having already already sealed her fate, merely to bump up the cost!” FUMING
Positive experience: We were definitely not received in a friendly, proper communicative manner. The help our cat received was amazing in the end and the vet's help was impeccable. However I have never been treated - and spoken to like this in any institution.
Negative experience: I describe my service at the London clinic as "differentiating" for social reasons. Unlike some countries, here people, rightly so, are "made to assume guilt that they don't have". I took my cardiac cat (now proven, as suspected). And even though the number of animals to care for is understandable, it is not justifiable to wait 9 hours to do an exam, an ultrasound, with an animal that has been without hydration or food for more than 12 hours. After this waiting time and you ask a nurse who took your animal, where is the animal and how is it? Whether the examination was carried out or not, whether the animal at risk of death due to stress, for which you as the owner signed a consent assuming full responsibility, was attended to or not; you are treated in a rude, dismissive, and humiliating manner, because I was explicitly told that it was not a private clinic, AS DESCRIBED ON THE GOVERNMENT SITES SERVICE "and even though I am not either British, English or any other something that might please me. I know how to read and I have excellent training, which allows me to understand some behaviors, dedicated to people and I do not accept being treated like that, because I treat people with respect and dignity. I have serious health problems and I have Why accept this behavior when I need a service? Today it's more than 15 days since my cat's vaccination, and I discover an extremely painful sarcoma, caused by a poorly done application (after all, it's up to me to accept this "favor", which was charged and never I received the vaccination card detailing the vaccines that were given. The veterinarian is monitoring it, but the nurse who caused ALL this problem, continues to work and injure other animals that, according to the law and responsibility that Blue Cross proposes. to offer people with benefits, but there are some employees who do this damage. What was done about it? nothing. Now I ask this nurse who feels above good and evil: How can I resolve this painful bump caused by vaccination on my extremely well-treated cat? It is unacceptable, and unacceptable, and revolting...
Negative experience: They didn't listen to a word we said and gave us medication that eventually killed 3 out of 4 kittens ..... and when we rang them up (calmly may I add) and I told them we were seeking legal advice ..... they had the cheek to say " OK, that's nice , have a nice day now " ...... utterly unprofessional people.... if I could have give 0 stars I would ..... oh yh and sending 2 week old kittens home because they wouldn't take bottle .... REALLY !!!! We had not even been gone an hour when you rang up telling us to pick them up ... they should have been syringe fed not bottle fed ......INCOMPETENT IDIOTS ..... LUCKILY KITTEN NUMBER 4 IS NOW 5 WEEKS OLD AND DOING WELL ..... NO THANKS TO YOU LOT
Negative experience: Inexperienced vet unable to cope with large intelligent breeds told me my dog is untrained yet he quite happily sat in the waiting area greating other dogs and cats and humans without issue told me it was my duty to this "intelligent working breed" to train them yet he fooled and bated them into calling me back and refusing to castrat him for a so called experienced vet and animal charity to be so easily duped by a dog for him to act in shuch a way must have not been treated correctly this intelligent breed has out smarted you I would sugest more training for your vets and workers my dog is trained and socialised just dosent like you for a got to out smart you should be ashamed for forceing us into in private more expensive and experienced vet in this cost of living crisis when it can barely be afforded to punish the owner for having an intelligent breed that took all your qualifications and so called experience turned them to dust mabey a bit more experience in this breed so anyone with intelligent dog don't go here they will waist your time and money and not issue a refund or compensation for their lack of intelligence.
Fantastic experience: Amazing place, friendly and perfect treatment.
Fantastic experience: Edit, Thanks for saving my ex stray cats life, at victoria's everyone is genuine and here for all animals and i hope people dont abuse the system and staff who work so hard. I refuse to go to medivets who are owned by the private equity company, Luxembourg-based CVC Capital Partners and after buying zasman vets now run 80 percent of the vets in north london.
Negative experience: Needs an upgrade.. Certain areas of the place needs refurbishing. The staff seemed to be very friendly and helpful. However, I did have a big issue but would not go into detail. The staff are very friendly and helpful, very nice. There is street parking, but you have to play and only one disabled Bay.
Negative experience: I know it's a charity and but negates but it was both frustrating and annoying. For months it's been emergancy only but couldn't wait anymore. Phoned, went through who I was, where I was, which pet I was phoning about, what her issue is to be told in a happy ding song voice ok then what you have do is re--register, just pop online, complete the form provide evidence of your Universal Credit and don't worry if it takes days for a response, leave it at least 5 days before you chase us about it. Totally unimpressed from the overly jolly tone on the phone, the lack of knowledge and understanding of legacy benefits and the complete and utter waste of time it was bothering to explain what is wrong with my dog. This after months and months of emergencies only. I love being poor...not.
Positive experience: Vet The location is very good , right next to Victoria station
Negative experience: Firstly I would like to say blue cross just because I have not sent a reply to your last email please to feel I have not left it as that as I wanted to get professional advice and is now awaiting. My dog (MY SON) attended your hospital here for a leg surgery and died while undergoing surgery. He was wasn’t even two years old and all I am getting back is it was allergic reaction. While I further my investigation and seek professional legal advice I feel everyone should know about allergic reactions during surgery and a dog that had no heart, lung or brain issues died in their care. So maybe consider another vet practice and check their deaths rates before going ahead with your animals surgery. Which prior to this my dog was poohing blood weeks beforehand and they still went ahead with the surgery and nothing was looked into. As for the service most times we waited up to 30mins-45mins for appointments and out of all our visits only one vet listened to me about my dog the rest never listened and always got throbbed off with medication and no scans X-rays or anything especially after poohing for 3 weeks with blood. But I shall get justice for my dog. And thanks for killing my dog and leaving me with nothing. Not even my money back for my dog or a replacement but your rubbish sorry. Didn’t even offer to pay for his cremation. I’m getting to bottom of your rubbish excuses #justiceforrocky
Fantastic experience: We just left bluecross, me and Celine! We were seeing by Doctor Georgi, She’s a sweetheart, so kind and professional! We arrived here devastated as me personally didn’t have another option and I left with the surgery booked. So efficient and good service! Thank you Bluecross team! ❤️
Fantastic experience: The only hospital which was able to help my poor doggo, quickly and effectively.
Fantastic experience: Amazing hospital, Registered today, got it fast tracked, and got a same day appointment. So thankful. Staff were amazing, and I'm so grateful for the help!
Positive experience: I took my cat Memow to see them as I was worried about her, they seem to think that all her problems are down to her weight. I now she is over weight, but I am not sure it is all down to her weight. I try my hardest to her help her loose weight, but she is known to steal other cats food. I have told my neighbours not to feed & she has a collar on that says not to feed her. Since they have put her on a painkiller, she is more active & still a bully to other cats. She just seems to sleep for 2 hours after taking her medication. She chases the foxes & other cats, she is also very good at catching mice.
Negative experience: So it seems to be the case that if you can afford to drive a Range Rover and register your pet in Grannies name you get free first class priority treatment. If like me you struggle and try to make ends meet you get banded in to a second class, non priority group and told to go private. It’s a disgrace!
Fantastic experience: My dog had an ear infection, all the medication was free, he still has to have his ears syringed under anaesthetic. The care my dog has received is excellent. I have given a donation on e ery visit.
Fantastic experience: I went there as an emergency appointment. My usual vets is Blue Cross Hammersmith but I went as my Dog had fractured his toe nail, I was offered an appointment within hours of calling and when I attended the appointment we was seen within 15minutes of arrival. The vet that saw my Dog was polite and friendly, she made me feel at ease and they was able to assist him there and then so he didn't need surgery. As a Low cost service its invaluable and they definitely provide a service that does not feel "Low cost", thank you from my (Apollo).
Fantastic experience: I went to take my kitten today, for her first vaccine, to be microchipped also to have a check up and for worming. The staff from the reception desk right through the Hospital was very professional, friendly and great towards myself and my kitten. I had the opportunity to ask any questions I needed to and I was given all the information I needed. I highly recommended this place for all animals. Thank you to all the Staff at the Blue Cross Animal Hospital Victoria London
Fantastic experience: Very efficient staff. The vet was extremely knowledgeable and really cared about my cat's health. Everything was explained to me step by step and preliminary treatment was given efficiently. A follow up phone call regarding further treatment options was made the following day. Very satisfied.
Positive experience: Very good service people Very friendly. But I feel the person that examined my Betzy should have done a full check up not just for the the reason we was there for and tbh honest in the area of the problem also should of investigated more.
Fantastic experience: Fantastic lots of professional medical help . But reeseptionist rudeeeee!!! still remember how she wasn't believing that my cat needed emergency help till I raised my voice and everything was resolved with in a seconds when doctors had to start IV infusion with antibiotics and keep my extremely sick kitty 2 days in hospital.
Negative experience: I wanted to boost vaccine my pet and was told that the original vaccine was not compatible with the one used by Blue Cross, a statement that was classified as false by a private vet who has called them and demanded explanation, stating that all vaccines in UK are under one BS standard. Blue Cross Victoria wanted a new vaccination cycle for the above false reason that would have been detrimental for my pet, hence profitable for them! Unfortunately this “charity” organisation is not currently what it used to be and I will not be sending any donations until I see an honest and non biased service!
