Medivet 24 Hour Hendon: Reviews

Negative experience: The reception team and veterinary practitioners have always been very helpful and provide good service, which I really appreciate. However, the phone service has been quite difficult. several occasions I have had to wait more than half an hour just to speak with someone to arrange my repeat worming treatment under my healthcare plan. Because of this, it has become inconvenient to manage my pet’s treatment, and I am considering switching to another Medivet branch. I hope this feedback is helpful, as the in-person service has been good, but the phone accessibility could really be improved.

Fantastic experience: My puppy got very sick after hours and we called the clinic. We had an appointment within half an hour and there was no wait. The vets were very knowledgable as well as kind to my puppy. She was kept there over night and I really felt she was I. Good hands. The nurses were so nice too - reassuring me when I called in the morning. When I came to pick her up she was wagging her tail again!

Negative experience: I would not recommend other pet owners to use this practice. They are impossible to get ahold of and their communication systems - internally and externally - are broken. My cat died at the practice and where I needed effective communication, compassion and care, I spent several weeks on hold to them on the phone (waiting for at least half an hour each time), trying to get updates. They almost sent him for an autopsy where I had requested a cremation. I would recommend finding local, community vets rather than heartless big businesses, who are more interest in profit than care.

Negative experience: Depressing, expensive and they messaged me 4 months after I had been there after they said I had paid. Quite a horrible experience to be honest. Beyond distressing. Rude receptionists, one actually almost started arguing with me. Cold and bleak

Fantastic experience: MediVet Hendon in London have been absolutely caring, above and beyond professional and human for the devastating truth of loosing my precious George, my 11 year old retriever and soul companion. It has been an incredibly tough time which you handled it with impeccable professionalism, compassion and empathy from the Vet Pedro, to Federica, my George was in safe hands and given the disastrous outcome after all CT scanning, the best was to send my George to sleep by my side an refraining him from suffering further with a very aggressive illness which was spreading fast to his spine and all vital organs in his abdomen. My immense Pain for my George’s Loss was sudden, and will never go away. George DOB 11/01/2015 George DOD 10/02/2026

Fantastic experience: When I realised my pet cat had a urinal issue this evening, I immediately called medivet and the friendly lady on the phone advised me to come inside as it’s an emergency. At a tough and emotional time when we considered putting him to rest, we decided against it and decided to continue with an emergency operation. Our emergency vet Ziad was understanding by giving us all the time we needed to discuss and make a decision. Our cat undergone a successful operation owing to Ziad. He gave us all the details of medication we needed and advised us on how to mitigate future reoccurrence. He was patient and understanding and just the vet we needed at 2am on a Monday morning recovering from a stressful last few hours. Many thanks to Ziad and the Medivet team as you have allowed my cat to live another life!

Negative experience: I have been waiting over a month to receive my dog’s ashes and have received no updates or timeline. Despite calling multiple times, no one seems to know what is happening or can provide clear information. During an extremely difficult time for my family, the lack of communication and empathy has been very upsetting. I would appreciate transparency, a clear schedule, or at least an update on what is going on.

Fantastic experience: We had to put our wonderful dog, Sammy, down after 13 years. It was so hard and painful for the family. We went to the Hendon branch and we got there so late because of traffic, yet they still saw us and they were so kind and they didn't rush us even though they had a room full of people. We just wanted to say a big thank you for being so kind and supportive. You made the awful, sad experience bearable. And thank you for the pictures of his paws print we can keep always. Thank you you were all so wonderful.

Negative experience: We had our lovely Persian cat pass away here a few months ago and we really did feel the vet at the time did their best for her. Recently, our other younger Persian was very unwell and they just fobbed us off telling us she was “improving” and “stable” as she increasingly got worse. She was hospitalised for a couple of nights but we were pressured to bring her home without the scan she needed to diagnose why she had lost use of her back legs because the imaging vet was off sick. We brought her back for the scan appt days later. The receptionist talked about being understaffed in front of me, slagging off the missing staff to other colleagues and talking about how they “needed to still get rid off this one” while nodding vaguely toward me but still made me wait another 30 mins for a nurse to come actually tell us to go home. Our girl with neurological issues was in a carrier for over 2.5 hours in total and I spent £70 in Ubers there and back for the failed appt. Thankfully our much more caring local Medivet got her into the royal college after she deteriorated further very quickly that day and her severe infection of the spine that had spread significantly while being fobbed off for a week will require at least 6 months of heavy antibiotic treatment and we do not know if she will fully recover. Please do not be fobbed off if these staff gaslight you and tell you your vulnerable pet is “improving” or “stable” when you can see them getting worse.

Fantastic experience: I appreciate the fact that Medivet Hendon does not rush to make unnecessary appointments. The reception staff are trained to ask questions to ascertain whether or not you need to bring your pet. If you need an appointment, they will strive to find the first available. Upon arrival, they are friendly and accommodating. The vets are efficient and reliable. It's always wise to establish a relationship with the vet so they inform you before an procedures. of what they see as the best step. I like the Hendon practice as it has extensive diagnostic equipment, overnight wards with intensive care facilities, and always has several vets on duty, including senior practitioners for second opinions or assistance. There is parking available, and it's walking distance from the bus stop. Slightly longer from the underground but accessible by a short bus ride, so it's very accessible. The reception area is large and comfortable. If you want the best treatment in the north west area of London, don't hesitate to try Medivet Hendon. The vets are willing to write prescriptions for online medications. I don't think it's especially costly, but all private veterinary medicine seems costly. No disrespect to small practices, but Medivet Hendon has given me the best treatment and long term satisfaction and I have no complaints other than the fact that Medivet Hendon does not participate in the Cats Protection subsidised neutering programme. Other branches do, eg Medivet Harrow. With the overwhelming number of unwanted kittens being born and huge cost involved in neutering pets, especially female cats, I wish they would participate. All my cats are neutered, but for many people this is a huge expense which they keep putting off until it's too late, so I would ask Medivet Hendon to please consider offering subsidised spay and neuter for cats, even if it's limited to a few per month. Any would make a difference and prevent the disturbing number of unwanted kittens being born, abandoned or condemned to a life in a shelter.

Negative experience: Sadly had to have our dog put to sleep while we was on holiday we simply asked for some paw prints and clipping as we wanted to get our little boy something special made as we couldn’t be there with her and this was ignored we have rang up more than once to talk about picking her up and the paw prints and clippings and we was never told they had not been done! Until we picked her ashes up and had to call a number of times

Dennis Bauszus Posted on Google 3 months ago

Fantastic experience: The health of our 15 year old pet dog deteriorated dramatically over the holidays. She had a heart murmur since being a puppy and we needed to make the decision to let her rest. When she had another stroke at midnight we had to visit the 24hr Medivet in order to prevent her dying in a horrible way at home. The Medivet doctors are compassionate and professional and helped us a great deal in this most difficult of times.

Fantastic experience: I had an absolutely wonderful experience at this clinic. My cat Betty received exceptional care, and Dr. Daniele was truly outstanding. His kindness, professionalism, and genuine compassion made all the difference. He treated Betty as if she were his own, and that meant the world to me. I am deeply grateful and highly recommend this clinic to anyone who wants the very best for their pets.

Negative experience: Administrations errors on almost every visit/call since we moved over to medivet - Hendon - 3 years ago (as we had moved houses & location). Managers do not show any level of compassion or sympathy when told that regular treatment (Flea and worming) medication has not been provided on time consistently - receptionists gatekeeping any escalation to a manager. Manager keeps repeating how they have over 4000 patients to deal with, so at times things can be missed - which is a POOR excuse for a company that should be managing the health and wellbeing of our loved ones. I have been told by multiple members of staff & managers that the treatment has been ordered but no timescale as to when to expect the delivery of goods - no communication in terms of updates. On a visit a few months ago, we provided a urinal sample (which was taken on the practices driveway) during a visit & was told that they will process the sample and provide us with results — fast forward 3 months later & the FLE and worming treatment was due, we enquired if we could also take a look into his results — they were unaware of any urine sample and have now confirmed they have lost it. Why was no communication made, when notes on his case should have outlined that the team were awaiting a urine sample? They have not apologised or shown any empathy for the lack of communication or importance of the matter. I will be reviewing other practises to ensure we make a move from the medivets chain, as soon as possible — do not join this branch if you care about your loved ones.

Fantastic experience: Doctors Steffano and Hattie are both really knowledgeable, professional and efficient. I recently travelled with my little dog from London to France to Canada and then USA. They were able to get all the proper paperwork for her sorted and explained the process. The paperwork is extremely complicated and the process is not clear, their advice was invaluable. They did all the paperwork and had another member of staff quality check it line by line. Although the appointments were expensive, they were able to do them in evenings and even on a Sunday to make it possible to fit the checks in with the government requirements for time scales. I am forever grateful for their help!

Negative experience: I called in 5 hours in advance to let them know i was going to pick up my deceased puppy. When i turned up the receptionist had no clue, was super insensitive and had 0 empathy for my situation. Instead of taking me into one of the consultation rooms (which were both vacant as i witnessed people walking out of them), she attempted to hand over my DECEASED pet in the waiting room. I was mortified. The worst part is, they never let her thaw. She was completely rock hard frozen with icicles on her. Extremely traumatising experience. When we had to put my puppy down they had advised us to call in advance to pick her up so that they could prepare her for us so she wasnt antartic cold and rock hard solid. I would not recommend this place, awful people awful service.

Fantastic experience: We came in with an injured fox, and the vet, Sarah, took such good care of the situation. It’s wonderful to see such heartfelt people in the industry. Thank you, Sarah, and thank you to the receptionists for all your hard work and for taking such great care you give to everyone who walks through your doors.

Fantastic experience: Words cannot express my gratitude to the beautiful professionals and team here. I went there with a volunteer and friend to help save my Pet following an injury/likely car crash - whilst nothing could be done .. Sarah the vet and the team were the most kindest souls and handled everything with such grace and dignity. This was a Friday night and I wanted to say thank you to the work they do even for stray wild foxes because every animal/soul deserves to die without pain and suffering. Sarah, was extremely gentle and understanding and communicative .. and it was emotional but every small gesture and action was a gift. Thank you from my heart and I totally support the work of the Vet and the wildlife charities to protect all wildlife

Fantastic experience: I had to take my cat Mia to Hendon for a CT scan and rhinoscopy and from the moment I stepped into the building I was treated with respect, warmth and empathy by all the staff. After the procedures had taken place it transpired that there was no getting better from the diagnosed condition and so I felt it best to put Mia to sleep to end her suffering and went to collect her that evening to have her sent for cremation. All I can say is that whoever looked after her after she had passed is a magician!! You made her look like she was still alive and like she was enjoying a restful sleep and I was astounded. You will never know how thankful I am to the whole team for allowing my last moments with her to be this memory, no wonder your hospital is one of the best in london with one of the best teams. Negative experience: Avoid this company like the plague. They are a bunch of dishonest fraudsters who only cere about making money and ripping off their clients at any given opportunity. We were clients of Medivet for a number of years and we always felt they would increase prices constantly without any explanation and charge us for things that weren’t necessary. The final straw was when our dog required dental treatment which we were covered for in our insurance policy. Before going ahead we were told by Medivet that this procedure would be approved and we could proceed. We had this in writing from Medivet and via numerous voicemails. We went ahead with the procedure (which we couldn’t afford to pay for ourselves) with the guarantee that they had give us, that insurance would pay, only to be told post surgery that it in fact wouldn’t be covered by insurance and we were now left with the bill. After challenging them on numerous points we realised that they had lied to us and deliberately misled us. Post surgery Medivet told us that the claim and been rejected by the insurance company only to be told by the Insurance company that they hadn’t even assessed the claim yet let alone rejected it.

Fantastic experience: I honestly can’t thank the team at Hendon practice enough for what they did for my cat, Boba. Yesterday, Boba suddenly became very unwell, and I was completely panicked and in tears. The surgeon, Dominika, was so understanding and kind. She truly listened to my situation and tried everything she could to help without immediately suggesting/pushing the most expensive tests. Thanks to her thoughtful and experienced approach, she quickly realised that Boba’s condition was an emergency and she helped arrange everything so efficiently and with so much care. Everyone involved showed such genuine compassion and dedication. They truly went above and beyond to help Boba and to support me through such a stressful and panic time. It’s clear they truly love animals and care deeply about their patients and owners. Because of their kindness and professionalism, Boba is alive and recovering today. I’ll never forget the care and warmth they showed us. Special thanks to Sarah and all the nurses as well, you were all amazing. I couldn’t recommend this clinic more highly.

Negative experience: Scared of my dog, uninterested in how terrified we were. Had to ask for his throat to be checked (the injury was in the throat), i held the dog's mouth and vet looked in from over a meter. No reassurance, no clear explanation - I have ADHD and was asking for very clear feedback Vet nurse not much better.

Thank you all so very much..The send off will stay with me forever Thank you to all Medivet staff who will now be involved with Kitty's after care including Manon for a warm welcome today and the other Medivet staff, Pia and others for taking care of Kitty's journey to her final resting place. Negative experience: Absolutely dreadful experience. You must recognise that we use emergency services because our pets are in desperate conditions. Staff were highly stressed, very abrupt and not able to provide the care that is expected. There was no compassion or empathy in handling my dog who was hyperventilating. Vet basically said that its not considered serious and refused to say more unless I paid for the out of hours charges at £150!!! The atmosphere in the Hendon clinic was like we were walking into a morgue. When I took him back to the Kingsbury branch, it was diagnosed that he shouldn't be left to be hyperventilating as it is extremely distressing for him. I would not be using Hendon services if I had a choice. Please consider the nature of your business and why you are offering pet care services - its not ONLY about the money and making a profit. Charging 100% above market prices for medication.

Fantastic experience: After 6 years without a dog, I decided it was time to welcome a new puppy into our family. My previous dog was registered with another major veterinary group who unfortunately have had far too many complaints regarding their care in recent years. Given others recent experiences, it made complete sense to try a different veterinary group with better customer feedback, which led me to register with Medivet. I had only had my new puppy for 5 nights before some concerns arose. It was the weekend and my local practice was closed, so I contacted the Hendon location which thankfully is open 24/7. After speaking with the practice, I was advised to bring my puppy in for an examination. Upon arrival, I was warmly greeted by Chloe and vet Rebecca. After taking a sample and conducting the necessary test, I was seen by vet Olivia. She thoroughly examined my pup and reassured me that he was absolutely fine - he was just passing worms after being de-worming medication a week previously by his breeder (which is routine practice in puppies). Kobe was given a comprehensive check-up, and my mind was completely put at ease as I had naturally assumed the worst as a new, worried pet parent. What impressed me most was that Olivia spent a generous amount of time with us, handled my dog with genuine love and care, and never made me feel rushed or like my concerns weren't valid. We were provided with medication, received our bill, and were informed that we were good to go. Some may consider Medivet to be expensive, and yes, they likely charge more than other practices. However, I found that they genuinely tried to keep my bill as low as possible, which was greatly appreciated and has reassured me that registering with them was the right choice. The wait time was also very reasonable considering we had booked an appointment. I've seen other reviews complaining of long wait times, however this was absolutely not our experience at all. I would like to give special thanks to Isobel, Chloe, Rebecca, and Olivia for their exceptional care, compassion, and professionalism. All in all, it was a fantastic first experience at the vet for our 8 week old puppy. While I cannot speak for future visits, I sincerely hope I'm given the same outstanding experience each time moving forward. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a veterinary practice that truly cares about both pets and their owners! P.s. I would also highly recommend that pet owners either purchase a 5-star Defaqto rated insurance plan or set aside £100-200 per month in a dedicated fund for any future vet bills and pet emergencies. You may not ever need to use it, but when you do need it, you will be incredibly grateful to have that financial safety net in place - speaking from past experience.

Negative experience: I am rather disgusted. Last night my cat of 23 years was sadly on her way out. We took her here to have her put down and the experience was dreadful. It was purely transactional. No compassion, nothing. We were waiting for around 20 minutes before we were seen, even though we called up for an emergency appointment and they knew we were coming. With my last moments with her I got told to say my final goodbyes but “don’t take too long”. Outrageous behaviour. Over all, I do not recommend coming to this vets if you have an emergency and are looking for an ounce of compassion.

Fantastic experience: My cat had a stinky right ear after a cat fight. Medivet saw my cat within 12 hours, the next morning. The staff was friendly and welcoming and the vet quickly assessed the issue. I big tear in the skin of the ear that was infected. The cat is now on antibiotics and anti-inflammatories feeling better within hours. The team at Medivat is professional and curteous.

Bennythebull Posted on Google 7 months ago

Negative experience: Rip off merchants, the place stinks and needs a good clean. Standards have slipped dramatically in recent years. Went for routine check up for my dog. I have a health plan that covers these costs. Vet advised to we do an ear swab for an existing ear condition to make sure she gives me the most effective drops. I said ok. Took 5 minutes. Shocked to be charged almost £40 for it when it was time to leave - not telling customers about charges upfront is sketchy and very poor practice in my opinion. It’s also not the first time it’s happened here. I’m changing vets as a result. They also wanted £40 for the ear drops that cost £18 online. Staff seem alright but it’s one of those places that feels like nobody wants to work there. Must be corporate run now. I hope they see this and pull their socks up.

Negative experience: I am in two minds about what to write in this review. On the one hand, the medical treatment itself is consistently excellent. Both the vets and the reception staff provide a first-class service, and I have always felt confident in the quality of care my pet receives. However, on our most recent visit we waited one hour and forty minutes to be seen. When we finally were, the consultation took place in reception as all the rooms were occupied. With a very nervous dog, this was far from an ideal experience. What concerns me most, though, is Medivet’s business model. They have been acquiring smaller independent practices (two I personally know of), thereby reducing competition and leaving people with little choice but to use their services. The issue is the pricing: medicines are often charged at two to three times the market rate. For example, digestive paste typically costs around £12 elsewhere, yet Medivet charged £37.50. VBS Clay PRD can be bought in pet shops for £19.50, but £44.55 at Medivet. Pardale-V tablets can cost around 36p each, but Medivet charged £14.85 for just three tablets. We love our pets and want the very best treatment for them, but if Medivet continues to dominate the market and impose such inflated prices, particularly in the current economic climate, I fear that some people may be forced to give up their pets. While the vets themselves are highly trained and I do not doubt the quality of the care they deliver, I believe Medivet’s business practices are ultimately detrimental to animal welfare.

Negative experience: Very disappointed with this practice. I paid for a private appointment with Dr. Azarati, but without my knowledge or consent, he allowed a student to examine my dog. My dog cried out in pain during the exam, and only afterwards were we told the person handling her was a student. At no point were we informed or asked if we agreed to this. When I raised a formal complaint, the clinic gave vague responses and avoided responsibility. They claimed there were signs in the waiting area saying they are a training practice — but that is not enough. Proper informed consent must be given explicitly, especially in a private setting. I will not be returning.

James “GoogleMatrix” Posted on Google 8 months ago

Positive experience: The only reason to take my vets to Medivet is because they have a team of vets so can work together. There is no other reason because in my experience of vets so far, it is almost impossible to find one that you can trust. more than one mind is always better than one in most cases.up to now, they have not disappointed either. Being a vet is an enormous amount of responsibility. You need to be exceptionally passionate about what you do and be learning all the time, even in your own time, and that’s not for everyone. In my profession I am doing personal study seven days a week. If you’re not completely happy with what you are being told, always do your own research. Maybe even get a second opinion. Don’t just turn up and listen. Do your research before you get there and ask the vet questions. This will give you a very good indicator of their knowledge. The number one thing I look out for is how vets operate. Does the practice have the animals welfare as a priority over profit, for example? I do the due diligence before I visit and then ask questions. If the vet can’t answer I’m in the wrong place. From experience so far, Medivet are better than other vets I’ve used and I’ve had pets all my life. They definitely do have the advantage of having more than one vet they can consult with which is a big bonus in my opinion. Particularly when you receive bad news and really need that second opinion. It also means in an emergency, more vets are likely available. I’ve got two cats and up to now I can honestly tell you the diagnosis carried out by Medivet has been excellent so far. One of cats was recently diagnosed with cancer and they sorted out the steroids for us so we can make her more comfortable and the lab results came back in good time. They were very thorough and I could not have asked for more. What is for me is I trust them. In my opinion the vets have not faulted yet and have always provided the best care possible. That is critical. They also have 24 hours care. To give you an example. I’ve had a cat that was always touching their left ear with their paw and rubbing it. Could be mites or an infection or something else causing the discomfort is what I thought. We had one vet tell us it may be cancer. Another vet told us a build up of too much wax. It turned out to be infected and a quick sample of what was in the ear went to the lab with the results. We stuck with that vet for years as a result of their thoroughness. It wasn’t Medivet but this is how Medivet operate. I’ll try update my review in the future so I can provide the most accurate reviews I can. Four stars because I can rest easy that if I need a vet, my pet is in safe hands. Thank you Medivet phone call wait times way too long. they need more staff. they make enough

Fantastic experience: Very caring and professional. Unfortunately we’ve had no choice but to put our Poodle, Bella, down. The staff were so caring and got her in soon as we arrived and offered the best care to relieve her pain before they’ve procedeed with the injection. The medic was a total professional and you can definitely tell they love pets and they love to save their lives, but in this case there was nothing to be done. We’ve been fully assisted throughout the whole process, they’ve let us in to sit with her and even took care of the cremation. We’ve opted for an individual cremation and the remains were returned to us within the time frame specified. Thank you for doing your best for our Bella and thank you for supporting us throughout this difficult time.❤️

Negative experience: Yesterday, my partner had to take our cat, Barolo, to MediVet Hendon as an emergency. He was seen by a vet, given medication, and we were advised to call back if his condition worsened. Unfortunately, overnight Barolo began vomiting and became noticeably more lethargic. I called the clinic first thing this morning and was told that the same vet who saw him was in today and would call us back. Despite this assurance, no one contacted us at all, even hours later. Out of growing concern for Barolo’s health, we've now booked an emergency appointment with his regular vet and are on our way. We had a good experience with MediVet Hendon two years ago, but this time the lack of communication and follow-up has been completely unacceptable. When your pet is unwell, clear and timely communication is crucial. Based on this recent experience, I would not recommend this clinic to anyone who truly cares about their pet’s wellbeing.

Positive experience: Medical team is spectacular. Receptionists are very kind but extremely busy, that drops the customer experience, you have to wait for long time to be able to talk to the receptionists as they are answering constant phone calls. Reception is very loud, phone calls, doors opening and closing, slamming doors, people walking and talking over each other... a bit chaotic the reception area. Not ideal for cats or any animal. Cat waiting area on the 1st floor is not promoted and signs are difficult to see.. Regardless of these, I am trully confident my pets are very well look after with professional team that have passion for animals. That is the most important thing. They are not there for the money, they are there for the animals. I recommended Medivet Hendon to my neighbour for a second opinion about a surgery proposed by his vet.. after Xrays and the full consultation, Medivet team suggested to my neighbour not to proceed with the surgery, because the cat bones were already sealed and no need to make the cat to pass through unnecessay pain.... indeed the cat is happy and healthy after 3 years of the advice, no need for surgery. They got a new customer thanks to their honest and thorough consultation and a happy cat and family.

Negative experience: I was kept waiting for over 3 hours to see the vet when I had been given an emergency appointment at 22:30 when I phoned at 21:30. I arrived at 22:20 and my dog wasn’t seen until after 01:00 and my poor sick dog was out from 22:00 till 02:30 am. Whilst waiting i was locked in and no member of staff was available at the desk to offer updates or answer questions. I was still charged £60 for the appointment after complaining as this was a reduction from the £140 emergency appointment fee but I think the entire consultation fee should have been cancelled. I ended up paying over £200 for the consultation, examination a small bottle of eye drops and a bottle of anti inflammatory and a ridiculously long wait. In future I’ll go elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: Excellent Service unfortunately Sid( Bunny)passed away in the car near Medi Vet at Hendon today 22/06/2025. Both reception staff were caring and looked after me while I was there. They arranged his sending off for me. Once again thank you very much.

Negative experience: My 6yrs old rottweiler suffering from glomerulonephropathy has experienced the worst care from this money pit called a vet, they should be sued for impersonating a caring vet practice. I have had the misfortune of using their service.Tuesday they extracted £704.00 from me. My beautiful rotti is now on death row due to their uncontrollable lust for money. We are a business spouted the employee. I can not come up with the £1000.00 deposit to have my rotti put on IV. I'm willing to by the IV kit and try to administer the treatment there love of money overrides their care of my faithful loyal buddy. May I never have the misfortune of dealing with non-humans like this again. Follow up Medivet called the RSPC reporting me for causing my rotti harm and distress because i refused to have this demonic sect euthanise him. Stand your ground against these capitalist vets they far care far too much abouts their bank balance than our pets welfare. RIP Marrón 13/06 2019 - 21/06/2025 Loved to his last breath.

Fantastic experience: My visit to Medivet was extremely pleasant. From the moment I stepped through the door, I felt welcomed thanks to the friendly atmosphere. The staff were incredibly helpful and professional, which made the entire process stress-free. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for high-quality veterinary care in a nice environment!

Negative experience: I would like to tell you all, how my baby was treated at this Hendon brunch, this people need to have a good communication between staff and client, My baby boy passed away at the hospital on the 5th of June and they told me he body will be collected by the cremation company on the following Tuesday the 10th that was already really bad for me as an owner, but I just found today the 16th of June that my baby was left in there freezer till the 13th, no budy call me to let me know or to ask me what I want to do, and I found out because I was calling the brunch is Kingsbury because they are the one that was looking after my baby, and a very helpful lady call the company to find out why he will not be delivered tomorrow the 17th as was supposed to be done and than they told her, his was only collected on the Friday. I found this very disrespectful with me as a client and to Snoopy as a dog that was loved and adore by me and my family we are very disappointed and knowing that my baby that save my life when I was in a very bad mental state it was treated like that. Shame on you all at Hendon. You should go now and collect his ashes and bring then to me not make me wait another week to have him back at home.

Negative experience: Reception team extremely rude in person and when waiting in the queue on hold when phoning through to make an appointment, they just answer the phone and end the call quickly without saying anything (after having waited +30 mins in the queue) Quicker to get a GP appointment nowadays.

Positive experience: Our cat was injured with a large swelling on his paw. We were able to book an appointment on the day and saw Stefano. Stefano took time to explain his plan of treatment to us and also took our views on board. There was a good atmosphere and we were satisfied with the treatment. Our cat went on to recover from his injury. Thank you, Stefano.

Fantastic experience: Thank you to the team for seeing us so quickly for an emergency appointment. Process was smooth and simple. A huge thank you to Leanne for her exceptional guidance and care. She's a credit to the team and was exceptional with helping us make our wee boy comfortable for his big sleep.

Fantastic experience: Francisco, Natalia and the nursing team at Hendon Medivet saved our cat's life last week. Throughout that night every member of the team was phenomenally dedicated, professional, knowledgeable and empathetic. They stabilised Juniper, who was in a seriously bad state by then, and did the investigations they needed to get a diagnosis - even consulting with emergency vets at other hospitals. The communication from Francisco was consistently helpful, sensitive, and laid out clear options. Without their care Juniper would not have survived to have successful hernia surgery the next day, nor would she right now be at home recovering comfortably. Words cannot express how grateful we are.

Fantastic experience: Quick check in at reception. Minimal wait to see the lively (you’re all lively!) health checks done paw-dicure for the ginger miss(known as her highness at home) and the (fat) fluffy black madam’s skin check done and advice on skin care gratefully received! Thank you as always. They eventually recovered from the traumatic visit!

Fantastic experience: I would like to leave a heartfelt review for the veterinary emergency service. Unfortunately, our story didn’t have a happy ending — we lost our little bunny, Picur. It had already been a difficult week for us, and when he stopped eating again, my mother took him to the emergency vet on Sunday morning, as I sadly couldn’t be there. :( My sweet bunny was already 7 and a half years old, and his little heart couldn’t handle the stress anymore. What should have been a simple examination ended up being too much for him. I want to say a sincere thank you to the doctor who showed incredible empathy and love toward us and our little one. It was clear to us that she, too, was deeply moved by what happened — it wasn’t supposed to end this way. Unfortunately, I don’t know her name, but I hope she will recognize herself in this message. We want her to know that we’re truly grateful. We know she did everything she could, and we will always appreciate that.❤️

Negative experience: My dog has gotten attracked and it has taken 40 mins to pick up the phone and they are the emergency contact for my pets. Its appauling and disgusting for an emergency service for pets to this long and I'm still waiting.

Fantastic experience: We sadly lost our beautiful dog Iris last week. The care & compassion the staff showed to her & us was just incredible. They loved & cared for her, comforted her & talked to her when she was scared. The genuine love & support was appreciated by us so much. We are confident that Iris received the best care and they showed her such dignity & love. We can never thank you enough. Our only regret is not coming to you sooner. Please dog owners, if you have an emergency, come straight here & bypass your regular vet. If only we had Iris might still be with us. Thank you to all of you - you are angels.

Negative experience: My dog has had behavioural issues since she was a puppy. She’s now a year old and generally good with people, but still struggles with other dogs. I took her to this vet for a consultation — they took her to the back for five minutes and came back recommending an MRI, without much explanation. I decided to get a second opinion from another clinic, where they prescribed gabapentin. Since then, she’s been doing great. It feels like this first clinic jumps to recommending the most expensive treatments right away. I wouldn’t go back unless I had no other options.

Cosmin Rotariu Posted on Google 11 months ago

Negative experience: I will newer go back to them! I have called before and I have let them know is a emergency, when I arrive they charged 150 pounds just to have a look on my cat's, this is not fair, the treatment was 49 pounds and just to have a look 150 pounds, really?

Simon Reece Posted on Google 1 year ago

Positive experience: The vet was great, and have no issues with the treatment of our cat, however…we had an emergency appointment on a bank hol (meaning a significantly higher consultation fee) with a suspected tail fracture. She was admitted for treatment and X-rays, but got a call a couple of hours later to be casually told that the X-ray machine was broken, and that she probably doesn’t need one anyway as they couldn’t feel a break (which I found odd given previously they had said she did need one, and the swelling made it hard to tell by feel). We insisted on getting an X-ray anyway and so they reassured that we would receive a call the next morning to update on whether the X-ray machine has been fixed and to bring her back in. No phone call was received, so I called back and spoke to someone I do not believe even knew about the X-ray machine being broken (pretty important for a 24 hour emergency vet no?!). Overall quite poor quality experience. Will not be going back

Fantastic experience: Grateful beyond words for saving our dog’s life. She went downhill in just 15 minutes and fortunately found Hendon as our nearest out of hours just in time. She ended up spending 48 hours in their ICU and was struggling to breathe on arrival at 11pm. The night team immediately knew what to do and the surgeon was so knowledgable about her breed and how to help her through the endless seizures and inflammation. The nurses were so kind to allow me to ring up a few times a day to ask how she was and I was never turned away. We were convinced we would lose her - even through the guarded prognosis, the team was so transparent, kind and optimistic as the signs turned to her getting better. Thank you for bringing our dog back to her happy, normal self! Every day with her is a gift. My only comment would be for anyone in the catchment area to drive to the practice on a quiet day, in daylight, to find how to get to them. They have a generous driveway out front for parking, however if you miss the building behind the hedge, as it is on a dual carriageway you can’t stop and reverse back onto it. It was dark and my sat nav was old, and I regret not finding the practice sooner during the emergency. My dog didn’t have time for even a 10 minute walk. It’s great to know there is such convenient parking - just make sure you know how to get to it ahead of time!

Negative experience: Came to the same branch after 2 years ago giving it 3 stars. This is my vet’s out of hours service unfortunately. They are all really nice but now the management is lapse and it’s all about the extortionate fees and not the animal. Luckily I can also use the RVC and I highly recommend you do too if possible. I brought up my complaint of lack of priority to no avail already. I can’t see them changing, just getting worse I guess that’s what happens when vets are under a company umbrella. All about the money

Negative experience: Our experience at Medivet Hendon has been frustrating and disappointing. We initially brought our Dachshund, Jolene, in for a check-up and were reassured that her symptoms were nothing serious. However, the next day, she developed more symptoms, so we rushed her back in. During our follow-up visit, we were given serious differential diagnoses (Leishmania or Stump Pyometra) and advised to leave her overnight for further tests. To our surprise, no additional tests were conducted overnight due to staff shortages—something that was not communicated to us beforehand. Jolene improved with medication, which suggested an allergic reaction rather than the initial serious concerns. However, when we followed up on her Leishmania test results, we had difficulty getting clear answers, and after multiple calls, we were finally told that her sample had been lost. Throughout this process, communication was inconsistent, and getting updates required persistent effort on our part. We emailed our concerns to the practice over a week ago but have yet to receive a response. While we appreciate that veterinary clinics can be busy, the lack of organization, clear communication, and follow-through made an already stressful situation even more difficult. Wouldn't recommend Medivet Hendon.

Positive experience: Every vet I’ve seen at this practice (and I’ve seen a different one nearly every time)has been excellent. The practice itself is looking quite tired and in need of a lick of paint. But my main takeaway is it’s uncomfortably expensive! In the interests of fairness I was overcharged on one visit, I did mention to the receptionist I thought it was a little pricey at the time but paid anyway. I was contacted a few weeks later by a representative of Medivet who noticed the mistake apologised and refunded me, so credit where it’s due.

Negative experience: Horrible experience. My cat had an accident, so I took him to this vet in London emergency,They charged £300 just for the visit without even checking him properly and give him any treatment or medicine and said three nights would cost £3,000. I was in tears, but they showed no empathy. This place only cares about money, not animals. Avoid at all costs!

Negative experience: I have been with Medivet for a decade at a different location (Barnes), where I had the most caring team. I was extremely disappointed to discover the Hendon Medivet when I moved to NW London. It’s not just that I see a different vet every single time, who does not know my pet's history, has to spend the most of the appointment time reading the notes, the vets seems very incompetent with an operation similar to fast food place. Motivated by reasons other than the well-being of the pets. In just four months, I have spent over £4,000 on tests and appointments for my cat. Furthermore, I have been pressured by several vets from the same clinic to proceed with surgery that I believe is completely unnecessary and could potentially endanger my elderly cat's life. It feels as though their primary motivation is conducting yet another experimental surgery for financial gain, rather than genuinely caring for my cat’s well-being. During my last appointment, one month ago just before Christmas, I was informed that my cat needs to be assessed by the vet every three months for medication reviews, and that I should call the clinic for a repeat prescription. When I called the clinic a month later, I was told I would need to bring my cat in for another assessment, which incurs an additional vet appointment cost of £149—despite the fact that the vet reviewed his medication just a month prior. This situation makes me feel that they only want me to make unnecessary appointments, rather than providing the care my cat truly needs.

Fantastic experience: I cannot say enough good things about Medivet Hendon! From the moment I walked in, the staff was welcoming, compassionate, and extremely professional. They helped my cat with so much care and patience. The veterinarian Dominika was incredibly knowledgeable and thorough, taking the time to explain the diagnosis and treatment options in detail. I highly recommend Medivet Hendon to anyone looking for a veterinary team that genuinely cares about the health and well-being of their pets.

Negative experience: I recently took my kitten to this clinic because she was suffering from diarrhea and vomiting for several days. As a new pet owner, I was extremely worried, especially since my adult cat had similar symptoms but recovered after a few days. Unfortunately, I found the experience to be quite frustrating. When I spoke with the vet, I felt like my concerns weren’t fully listened to. Instead of offering initial treatment, she insisted on an x-ray without giving me a chance to try something less invasive first. When I asked if we could start with treatment and monitor my kitten for a couple of days, the vet told me that waiting could be too risky and that my kitten might die. This statement added a lot of unnecessary stress and fear to an already worrying situation. Additionally, I found the communication around costs and treatment options to be unclear. When I called for pricing, I didn’t receive much guidance, and it felt as though the focus was more on the money rather than supporting my kitten’s health or providing any comfort during this stressful time. When my kitten received an injection, she seemed to experience a lot more pain than usual, which was concerning to me. I understand that treatments can sometimes be uncomfortable, but I felt that the overall handling of the situation could have been more compassionate. I’ve had great experiences at the Stanmore branch and was hoping for the same level of care here. I truly believe that with a bit more empathy, clear communication, and focus on the pet’s well-being, this clinic could offer a much better experience.

Negative experience: Told on the phone yesterday I had a free blood test and urine test but my membership expires so must be booked latest the next day. I eagerly do, ask how to prepare for it, and told that there’s no preparation needed. I came today on time, only to wait 20 minutes without explanation. I’m irritated but I get it. Lady comes out to ask if my cat has fasted and if her bladder is full, and if not, then we can’t do the test. I am so so upset and explain that no one told me how to prepare when I even asked! Staff shrugged and just said it would impact results. I didn’t have any other choice but to do it then, because it was the last day of my membership. They went ahead and I can’t believe how many failed injection sites were done and how scuffed up my cat was! Never had this experience before anywhere else! After it all, I’m told to cough up £180 or £200 for this that, and I’m baffled! I tell the vet it’s free? She checks and goes quiet and agrees. She gives me a plastic litter bag for Ruby, but no urine sample cup? It’s really all too messy, and the receptionist again demands me to pay for the test. It turns out, I don’t even have the free blood test and urine test anymore as it was used. I ask why staff told me I still had it and booked it, and wasted my time having me come here. The staff tell me, my time is not wasted and insinuated that I must’ve left out the detail that I had my blood test last year… That really offended me… I feel like they made me out to be a criminal when all I was, was just confused… Scary thing is, I was about to spend 1.5K for my cats dental with them, but with this level of miscommunication, tardiness, messiness and confusion, I’m not going ahead. Had staff been knowledgable, heard me out, discussed properly with another, apologised for miscommunication, and more, I probably would’ve renewed, or just gone ahead because at the end of the day, my cat needs the help. But actually, I’m really too traumatised to come back to you. Please reflect.

Negative experience: There’s so much wrong with this place that I don’t even know where to begin. Over a month of coming to this vet constantly as they never managed to diagnose the issue, keeping our cat for 3 days because they “there was some other emergency/ not enough staff” instead of sending her home and charging us an extortionate amount of money for us to be in the exactly the same position where we started. Not to mention after they realised they didn’t know what they were doing, they said they’d give us an emergency referral to a specialist which they failed to do so (as the new vet didn’t know how to do this) and the next day after following up with them, they charged us £55 to actually call the specialist.. which they were supposed to do anyway. If you love your pet, stay away from this place.

Enochia23 Posted on Google 1 year ago

Negative experience: Dont know what happened to this vet, they used to be our go to in an emergency while living in North London. Staff completely unphased, by my bleeding dog. Only triaged her very vaguely after I insisted, and then could not pin point the source of the bleeding, and made us wait despite there only being one other patient. After waiting for more than half an hour, we left and took her to a different emergency vet where she was seen immediately.

Negative experience: The worst vet ever. Don’t go here if you care about your dog. This people are vets only on the paper cause they have no clue what they are doing. The reception staff is very rude and unprofessional and as the doctors they have no clue what they are there for. This vet is good at taking money fir nothing.

Ricardo Santos Posted on Google 1 year ago

Negative experience: I would give Medivet Hendon a zero because that's truly what they deserve. This place should be shut down and investigated. If you love your pet, DO NOT BRING THEM TO THIS VET. They employ a trial-and-error method for treatments and will claim charges over a year later after you've stopped bringing your pets to their facility. I would recommend a homeless guy in an alleyway before I recommend Medivet Hendon. They haven’t got a clue and simply overcharge clients because they know how much our pets mean to us. If you have a larger-than-normal dog, definitely don’t attend; they will charge you for a service to which you will be doing all the work. They had me assist in delivering my own puppies with no help from their staff. All the vaccinations my dogs received were administered by myself. I had to get my dog put down due to multiple failures on their behalf to notice critical health issues. If anyone has had a similar experience, please let it be known. I will be seeking legal action against them. Especially against Emma Daly and Sarah Furminger, who are highly unprofessional and don't even check their own notes. They make outlandish claims regarding charges and my pet's condition, even though neither of them has interacted with my pets. They both make false claims, saying one thing in writing and another in emails. When they don’t like what they hear, they will falsely accuse you of going against their zero-tolerance policy because it’s convenient for them not to resolve matters. This is due to a blatant systematic failure and staff not being educated on their roles and duties. Avoid Medivet Hendon at all costs for the safety and well-being of your pets.

Fantastic experience: Very very pleased with Hendon Medivet. Staff are very warm, caring and professional and the premises is clean and pleasant to be in. The vet I saw ‘Angel’ was particularly caring as my kitten did not realise she had been vaccinated! We will be back!

Fantastic experience: An excellent vet clinic! Our cat is subscribed with Medivet Hendon for 6+ years now, and every time the care he receives is outstanding - regular checks, emergency appointments or general consultations. I highly recommend. Thank you, Medivet, from our entire family!

Negative experience: I have visited it during night time today. The team is not very professional, they are chatting happily when doing blood test for my cat. My cat is very sensitive to sound so I have let them know to keep quiet when doing the test. They are still chatting and it has been 40mins without finishing take blood!

Negative experience: More interested in booking an appointment for an operation without fully explaining the cause of the issue and what options were available. Instead booked a date for an operation without consulting me. The vet was more interested in making money rather than showing any empathy towards my dog . For a vet practise this is such a shame. I will not be going back.

Juliana Souza Posted on Google 1 year ago

Negative experience: Terrible customer service. They forgot to add a charge of a sickness medication (over £20 for ONE pill) and kept harassing me later to pay, over a month after my dog's surgery (I settled the bill on the day of the surgery). I asked why this was being charged separately, no one ever answered but they kept sending emails asking for the money. Disgraceful.

Get Real Posted on Google 1 year ago

Negative experience: Decent service but my gosh do they overcharge you (I can't prove this, but I'm conviced that they kept the treatment for my cat on purpose so that they could take more money off me). I went to another vet literally 5 mins away near middlesex uni, which was half the price and they got the job done.

Claudia Celadon Posted on Google 1 year ago

Negative experience: Avoid!!! I’d give no stars if I could! I had the worst experience tonight as I took my elderly dog for hospitalisation after a heart attack (following my usual veterinarian’s advice). The veterinarian on call that was suppose to admit my dog was an EXTREMELY RUDE lady, patronising and lacking a basic understanding of care, failing to demonstrate empathy and consideration for my dog’s condition. She even raised her voice to me as I asked her if she had my dog’s referral details, and then proceeded to ignore me and to attend to another customer, leaving me and my sick dog unattended! Shocking!! She should go back to sensitive training, or simply to learn some manners when dealing with the public! I took my dog home as I felt I couldn’t trust them. Poor service, poor reception, total lack of basic manners when dealing with an already stressful situation. AVOID!!!

Kristiana Kravecs Posted on Google 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: We can’t thank this veterinary team enough for literally saving our puppy’s life. From the moment we arrived, the admission process was quick and efficient, making it easy to get through during a stressful time. The vets are incredibly knowledgeable and explained everything thoroughly, putting us at ease. They assessed our puppy’s condition quickly and provided the care she needed, ensuring she was well looked after and treated with kindness. This was our second experience with them in an emergency—our cat had been treated here before, and we had the same positive experience. I highly recommend this clinic for any pet emergency. Their professionalism, compassion, and efficiency truly set them apart!
