Negative experience: Sadly my cat has been let down. When a pet is suffering and you feel the veterinary practice hasn’t followed through, it can feel like you’ve been left with no help while time is passing. My cat has been bleeding due to over licking and itching - and I think reasonable to treat this as urgent. The repeated failure to provide care, had lead me to raise a complaint after trying to resolve it with the clinic. And going round and round like a merry go round trying to get a prescription is irresponsible.

Negative experience: Very disappointed with this clinic. You pay £55 for a consultation where the vet only checked my cat’s temperature and did nothing else. Additionally, when my cat was brought in for neutering, he did not have any fleas. However, when I picked him up after the surgery, he was full of fleas, which was very concerning. I also paid almost £200 for a blood test, but the sample was lost and no one even informed me, I had to keep calling to chase the results myself. No one took responsibility for this mistake. I had booked another test, but later received a call saying no doctor was available. When I asked for a full refund and a copy of my cat’s medical history, the receptionists were extremely unhelpful and even laughed on the phone while I was explaining the situation. After three weeks of emails and phone calls with no response, I only received my refund after threatening to report the matter to the police. Additionally, they took money for a charity donation without my consent. Overall, this experience was very frustrating and unprofessional. I do not recommend this clinic.
Fantastic experience: I originally used this practice for an emergency appointment for my cat but have decided to have her come her for ongoing treatment. Such great service and the longer opening times are much easier for people who work 9-5 style jobs

Fantastic experience: Excellent treatment and care for my dog.
Negative experience: I understand that the practice is busy, and the care my pet received was good quality. However, the administrative experience has been awful - another surgery in the network had to give me my quote, as no-one at Streatham would send it to me before the appointment, emails and WhatsApps get ignored, two appointments were cancelled at very short notice and my insurance claim still hasn't been completed by the surgery so I am out of pocket. I have phoned and been told to email, but my emails don't get answered, so I can't get an answer on what is going on. It is a shame that their administrative processes are so poor when the care given by the vets is great. Edit: despite contacting the practice and asking to speak to the Practice Manager, I am still waiting to get any response to any emails, and therefore still haven't had a resolution.

Fantastic experience: Always efficient and friendly. Highly experienced team are very reassuring, even in very difficult circumstances, and give our pets excellent care.
Fantastic experience: I cannot thank Mikey the vet at Streatham Hill vets enough for his support, kindness and empathy when we needed to have our beloved cat put to sleep yesterday. Fantastic experience: Really lovely staff and support. I let my cat go the other week, and the staff were so friendly and supportive. They organised for her to be cremated and they gifted me a card with her paw prints and a vile of her fur. Can't fault them.

Positive experience: The pet care is great but they aren't very organised in terms of admin. They consistently mess up prescriptions, make unexplained charges, etc. In addition the markup on some items is extreme. For example the inhaler device for my cat is £60 on Amazon but £200 from the vet. A little markup is understandable, but over 3x is too much. Watch out for anything they try to sell you that you could get elsewhere.

Negative experience: A NOTE TO OTHERS: UPFRONT COSTS ARE NOT PROVIDED AND THIS VET HAS DELETED MY PREVIOUS REVIEW The staff are very helpful and friendly. However, their organisation is lacking, our appointment was scheduled for 08:45 and we turned up and was told it was at midday despite us having a confirmation text. Another day we arrived and their system crashed and no notes from that day were saved to our record. An IT system in great need of an update. Edit* I would really recommend staying away from this vet, the receptionist and IT system is really disorganised. We were charged a bill that we never were aware of and a consultantation that we were never communicated of.

Fantastic experience: A great experience as usual; my Cleopatra was treated as a queen, called by her name and given some cuddles too. We were there just for a vaccine but she was also given a generic check up and the doctor answered me all the questions I had regarding her nutrition. As soon as we came in, we felt welcome by a relaxed and cheerful atmosphere. It is a five-star vet clinic for sure and I couldn't recommend it most!

Positive experience: The vets and nurses at this clinic are genuinely very kind, friendly, and helpful. The veterinary care itself has been good, and I felt that my cats were treated with care and professionalism. The vet also recommended an additional ultrasound check before treatment, which I appreciated as it was done with my cat’s best interest in mind. However, I have experienced ongoing administrative issues, mainly related to insurance paperwork and receipts. Some documents, including the ultrasound referral requested by the vet, were not sent to the insurance company, which caused delays and meant the check was not initially included in my claim. I have also had difficulty obtaining receipts for my cat’s medication despite multiple follow-up messages, which makes it hard to claim costs back from my insurer. I understand that the clinic is currently dealing with staff shortages and a backlog, and I do appreciate how busy things can be. That said, clearer communication and more timely responses on administrative matters would make a big difference, especially when insurance claims are involved. Overall, the clinical care and staff attitude are very good, but the administrative side could be improved. I have contacted the clinic several times by email but have not received a response, and my insurance claim still remains unresolved despite these multiple attempts. Fantastic experience: Incredible people! Everyone was really kind to my kitten. They even have a waiting room for cats to go to for a calmer experience. I had a million questions for the vet and she took the time to answer them all to make sure I and my little fur baby was comfortable. I was referred to this vet office by my neighbor and definitely recommend!

Negative experience: I have been a loyal client of this practice for over seven years, trusting them with the care of both my cat and my dog. However, over the last 18 months, I have witnessed a disappointing decline in the quality of service and overall management. Key Issues: Operational Chaos: The reception area has become increasingly disorganized. I am frequently left waiting more than 30 minutes past my scheduled appointment time with no updates or communication from the staff. Lack of Continuity: There is a heavy reliance on locum vets. This makes it impossible to build a relationship with a practitioner who knows my pets’ medical histories, leading to a disjointed experience. Communication Failures: Promises of follow-up calls are rarely kept, and there is a noticeable lack of transparency regarding costs, as upfront quotes are no longer provided. Capacity Over Care: The practice feels oversubscribed. It gives the impression that volume and profit are being prioritized over the well-being of the animals and the experience of their owners. It is saddening to see a once-great practice reach this point. After 12 months of feeling like an inconvenience rather than a valued client, I have made the decision to move my pets to a different surgery.
Negative experience: Bit of a weird one - service used to be amazing. Just recently feels like appointments run late (30-45 mins), sorting medicine takes repeated calls and reminders, staff seem continually new, under training and don’t know what’s going on. Vets seem really nice also - though equally seems like there’s always new vets unfamiliar with the practice. Not sure if there’s new ownership or management, or if I’ve just been unlucky in when I’ve been there.

Negative experience: I took my pet in for her second annual health check and booster vaccination, but I left feeling that she hadn’t received a thorough examination. The vet briefly listened to her heart, but her teeth, ears, and eyes were not checked at all. For an annual health check, I believe the vet should clearly outline what the assessment includes so that, as an owner, I know what to expect. I was also uncomfortable with the fact that my pet’s entire head and face were covered during the vaccination, as it seemed to cause her unnecessary distress. I was disappointed with the so‑called health check that was carried out. If I weren’t tied into the VIP payment plan, I would have taken her back to the original veterinary practice where she received her first health check and vaccination.

Fantastic experience: I have had to visit Streatham Hill Veterinary Surgery twice during emergency hours for my wonderful cat. They were able to diagnose, run tests and medicate my cat in his last days. All was done with the highest of professionalism. Sadly, I had the heartbreaking decision to put my beautiful cat to sleep. The professionalism and bedside manner couldn’t have been better at such a sad time. I wouldn’t wish my experience upon anyone but when the time came, I had clear options from the night vet with no pressure on time and was able to say goodbye at my own pace. This was beyond an excellent service. The compassion and treatment for both my cat and myself at such a hard time was exceptional. Thank you.

Fantastic experience: I took my Jess cat to Streatham Hill today and was seen my Sandra Morenon. My Jess was not happy, in the carrier, on the way there in the car, in the waiting area and briefly in the room with Sandra. It took only a few moments and Jess was her normal self, strutting her cuteness curiously. It was lovely to see her chill out and trust, and that's down to Sandra and how genuine she was with us. I can't thank you enough for the new experience for her and of course the great advice to keep her tip top as much as possible. We are both grateful for such a lovely service. Great service, very clean and lovely people. Update: Archie (my orange and white sunshine) - 22/11/2025 I had to take Archie to the vet as be was throwing up and started to hide. It was his first visit as an adult cat and he was happy in the waiting area and quiet - I think he quite liked peering out at all the cute dogs and cats. When we went in to the room for his examination he was not too thrilled, but with Delphi - who was lovely and compassionate - he relaxed. We spoke about what was going on with him and she gave me options for his care and well being. He had an injection to stop the vomitting (24 hours) and since then he's been his normal self - just doing what boys do, being the man of the house and being handsome. Thank you once again for helping my fluffy baby.

Fantastic experience: Greeted by friendly staff at the surgery. The vet that saw Mia was very caring towards her. She took her time and explained to me about giving a mild sedative to Mia next time she comes in, so that she can gave her nails clipped. Fantastic experience: My high energy 15 month German shepherd had a wonderful experience here today. My dog was greeted in a friendly manner and received excellent care whilst having a scan.. Positive experience: I always use this veterinary practice and my newest dog was still eager to visit the nurses in ‘the back’ just 4 days after his surgery. Staff of all types are friendly and helpful. My only reservation was the delay of almost an hour when I arrived at the stated time to collect him after his operation.

Positive experience: I was very shocked at my bill my dog had a minor examination a blood test and was given paracetamol for pain and antibiotics at the pricy cost of £577 daylight robbery

Fantastic experience: We called the vets at midnight as our dog was having difficulties breathing. We attended the vets. They took our little dog and assessed her. The vet was amazing was so kind and explained the options to us. They were so kind and caring we knew our little dog was in the safest pair of hands. We were called the next day and the situation explained.. we were able to collect our dog the following afternoon. We couldn’t have asked for any better service. Fantastic experience: Had been trying to get in contact with the clinic for a few days as I’m about to start work back and don’t get home till gone 7. I know how busy the clinic gets so I wasn’t upset as it wasn’t serious (just repeat flea/worming tablets and some food I couldn’t buy online for my two cats). When I called up and spoke to a very kind lady, said I didn’t want to take up their time as it’s just past emergency hours, explained the situation and Hannah was so so helpful. Fantastic experience: Five stars aren’t enough to describe the incredible humans working at Streatham Hill Veterinary Surgery… I am truly blown away by the level of care you offered my little cat. I had to rush my baby in suddenly for an emergency c-section. And I couldn’t have asked for better care of my baby. For over two hours, the staff worked tirelessly to get her well and save her baby who had gotten stuck in the birth canal. They even spent a full 20 minutes trying to resuscitate the little one who sadly despite their best efforts, couldn’t be revived. Never have I experienced such diligence and care for any of my cats than here (and two other DNA Vetcare Group branches; Wimbledon and Croydon). I want to extend a HUGE and heartfelt thank you to all of you who worked tirelessly to keep my baby healthy and comfortable, including the extremely friendly and knowledgeable veterinary nurse Fabiana, the VCA, and all of other skilled surgeons and staff whose names I didn’t catch but were involved. Another big thank you to Rebecca and co. at reception who offered me kind words and a box of tissues during the many times I broke down during this stressful ordeal. This team fully demonstrates what a good vet should be; knowledgeable, compassionate, and dedicated. I honestly couldn’t recommend better!

Fantastic experience: I found my cat, Preston with a nasty wound and bleed one evening and promptly called the emergency vet line. I was able to come in for an appointment and was seen within minutes of my arrival. My cat had a couple of nasty bites and a burst abscess so had to have the area clipped and cleaned. I was able to pick him up a few hours later and was updated Dr Alan throughout the night. Dr Alan also provided me with an accurate estimate of costs, which was very appreciated. Dr Alan was so great with Preston and I can’t thank him and the nursing team enough! I did take Preston in again to be checked over before I go away and he was seen by Dr Patrick, who clipped an area of fur and reassured me that Preston’s wounds are healing nicely. Dr Patrick was great with Preston and handled him with care.

Fantastic experience: Streatham Hill Vet Surgery is just the best. Even if I moved out of Streatham I still bring my dog there.. it is so quick an easy the get an appointment through their online portal. The staff at reception is always so help and friendly. The veterinarians are really warm and professional. Blondy always enjoys a little treat at the end of his visit.

Negative experience: Disapointed this time around. Contacted on 5th June regarding an operation another vet advised was required. Had to chase a few times to be told they hadnt received the file from my vets, to then arrange for it all to be sent again, to then be told they located it. We are now 18th July and dispite further chasing and being told the surgeon/vet is being chased and contacted still no reply. I have had to use an alternative practice when i fully trust Streatham and their input was very important but contact was poor. And due to the urgency of the operation required and being mucked around by a previous vets being sent to specailaists (which transpired were never needed, but cost me dearly as we all know insurance doesnt cover everything) on this occassion i have been left very disapointed.

Negative experience: We’ve had several visits here, and while the vets and receptionists are very nice people and clearly care about the animals - and our dog enjoys going there - we’ve increasingly felt that treatments and medications were recommended without clear necessity. Some of the suggestions seemed more focused on generating income than on medical need, giving the impression that financial targets may influence care decisions. We believe a more cautious and transparent approach would inspire greater trust.

Fantastic experience: I feel incredibly lucky to have found such a wonderful vet. I have complete confidence that my cat is in the best hands. The WhatsApp service is fantastic; it’s so reassuring to have my questions and concerns answered quickly, and I can even book appointments through it. They’ve even replied outside of working hours, which speaks volumes about their care and dedication. After the sudden loss of my last cat to HCM at just one year old, I was left heartbroken, made worse by the lack of compassion and poor handling from the high street chain I was with at the time. This practice has been a completely different experience. The whole team, from the receptionists to the vets, are warm, welcoming, and genuinely care. They’re knowledgeable, kind, and I finally feel that I’m in truly safe hands. I cannot fault them.

Fantastic experience: We took our 7yr old Tommy to Streatham Hill to express his anal glands, a fairly regular issue, unfortunately. He gets very nervous, but the VET was very gentle and put him at ease. The process was swift & efficient and she handled our Boy really. well. As well as skill & professionalism, she had a really lovely manner! We discussed Tommy’s diet and overall health and felt he was in very good hands. We always have such a great expereince there. Fantastic experience: Highly recommend Streatham Hill! We were referred here from the Croydon branch as our poor cat Gandalf needed extensive dental work which Streatham is more equipped for. During the whole experience the team were amazing. From reassuring us that his treatment was the right thing for him to executing it perfectly. Gandalf has just had his 3rd post op after his dental operation back at the Croydon branch and the vet was astounded by the work done by Alice and team at Streatham! Negative experience: I arranged for my chihuahua Pipkin to have his teeth cleaned in January, he requires a general anaesthetic. I got a call the night before telling me that they were waiting for a part to come in and wouldn’t be able to do the treatment and did I want to reschedule. I moved the appointment to the following month when they told me the part would be in. Again, the same thing happened the night before, despite me cancelling my work plans to accommodate the appointment and pipkin clearly having tooth ache. I rescheduled again for last week. I dropped Pipkin at the surgery at 9am, was told the appointment would cost £700 (clean and jaw x Ray) and that I would get a call to come and collect Pipkin when he was ready. At 3.45pm I received this call, saying they hadn’t had the chance to do pipkins treatment that day, he had been in a cage all day with a needle in his arm and was nil by mouth since the previous night at 9pm. I rushed back from work to collect him and he was totally traumatised. He was trembling and anxious and was not himself for some time after. If they had known they would not be able to do the treatment they should have called me immediately to collect him instead of leaving him in a cage all day, hungry and with a needle in his arm. I barely got a sorry when I went to collect him and was offered a measly 10% discount on rebooking. After 3 attempts pipkin still has toothache and has not had the treatment because this vet has messed me around and cancelled last minute each and every time.
Negative experience: I was initially very happy to leave my cat with Streatham for his kidney failure issues. He went in on Monday last week in the evening as he needed to be on fluids to get his renal levels down. They kept me informed each day. I went to visit on Sunday (7 days had passed at this stage). I was intending to discharge my cat Toffee as his levels were coming down nicely even though I was told by one vet that his levels would never be normalised but that they were waiting for them to level out. Whilst on the bus on the Sunday to visit I rang them to let them know of my impending visit. I was advised that if I discharged him that day bill would be £3,000. When I got there and spoke to the vet administering him that day he advised and suggested it would be good for Toffee to stay a few more days and that they could keep him in until Wednesday (12 March) as there was a chance his levels could go down even further. I wanted to do the best by my cat so I took the decision to let him stay. That same day I was told they would cap the bill at £4,000 and I signed up for the loan the same day. The next day, Monday, I had a call from the Streatham vets to say they wanted me to discharge Toffee that day as they felt there was nothing further that could be done for him. Meantime had I discharged him yesterday my bill would have been £3k and not the capped £4k. I have been misled and the fees there are extortionate. I complained verbally and was told they would ask the manager to call me. I am still waiting for the practice manager to call me today, Tuesday 11 March. No call ever came. I am most upset on being told subsequently thay my cat had only weeks to live. Had I known this from the start I would have discharged him, saved some money and spent what valuable and precious time that Toffee had left. I feel robbed of not just money but time with my beautiful cat. Vet fees in the UK are not regulated and they can charge what they like! Since then, speaking with friends they have said I should complain to the Ombudsman about this but also that the vets knew from the start that Toffee would never recover and they should have put him to sleep then and there. They are just focused on money and it's ALL about money!

Fantastic experience: When we noticed our dog was bleeding from his paws but couldn't find the injury, our own vet was unable to help, so sent us to out of hours at Streatham Hill Veterinary Surgery. We were booked in over the phone and made our way directly there. We were greeted by concerned staff who immediately took Joey away for assessment. The vet returned with a happy dog! She clearly explained what had happened, how we could prevent it in the future and that we were not a bother or wasting anyone's time, extremely reassuring for us first time dog owners! If we lived closer, this would definitely be our vet of choice. Kind, compassionate and clearly very focused on the animals they care for. Absolutely amazing team and so glad they could help. Negative experience: Really upsetting experience. After my cat was attacked, we were referred here for emergency surgery with an appointment booked for 11am the next day. We arrived on time, but no one acknowledged us for over an hour. Others who arrived later were seen first. My cat was in visible distress and ended up peeing in his carrier from the stress. I eventually called another vet who took us in immediately and treated him properly. Never again will I use this vet.
