Fantastic experience: Thank you to vet Dawn and reception today. Unfortunately our beloved cat Casper took a turn for the worse after some emergency treatment 3 weeks back had failed to provide a long term solution. I rang for a second emergency appointment today which was accommodated with no problem by reception. Sadly Casper was really poorly and needed to be euthanised, but Dawn was absolutely brilliant. She gave the family the time to say goodbye without being rushed, and helped affirm that the right decision had been made. A very painful experience was made more bearable by the care from the staff, so thank you.

Negative experience: The vets themselves are probably lovely - sadly I didn’t get to meet one. Receptionist I dealt with had a very poor attitude. Very poorly Rat that had been to an exotic vet at another V4P recently, who had advised euthanasia in 2/3 days if meds didn’t work and had given this V4P as one that was open this Saturday. Full expected and understood that it would be busy after Christmas but was surprised and disappointed by the complete lack of compassion shown by receptionist about fitting us in under the circumstances and the frankly snotty attitude when I politely challenged her over her approach. Put a call out elsewhere afterwards (not V4P) and was met with a far more pleasant receptionist who sorted us out and got us in for a euthanasia this morning. V4P practices aren’t linked but it is one brand and this experience with the receptionist at the Meteor Centre V4P has stopped me from registering the new puppy we got last week with any of them - we will be going to Scarsdale in Derby instead with him. I worked as a receptionist at a vets for many years myself, so I know what is and isn’t acceptable when you are dealing with owners in these situations. This was not OK.

Negative experience: Wouldn’t recommend really. So unhelpful and of like most vets charge you a fortune but these ones don’t help. The blonde girl at reception has a right attitude every time we speak to her and doesn’t want to help at all. we’ve spoke to her twice recently first time needed help and advice on getting a vet appointment for our dog and she just goes “speak to a vet I can’t advice” but yet then spoke to another girl on reception a few weeks later about the same situation and was absolutely lovely and very helpful. Then spoke to the girl on another encounter today… we get flea and wormer every month from here. Our dog is a year old and I’ve never ordered it in always just gone to collect and been given it bearing in mind we live about 30 mins away! Would she give me his flea and wormer he’s due on Tuesday no she would not. Completely refused because I hadn’t ordered it in even tho I explained I never have before. I explained to her that I would struggle to come back before Tuesday due to work so would she be able to do one for me now as the girls normally do. She completely refused with an attitude saying “can’t you see we are busy” Instead of her just helping a customer out I’ve now got to go all the way back just because she refused to get it for me because they was busy and I hadn’t ordered it in. Even the customers before me had an experience when her and when they walked away she rolled her eyes at them behind there back. The other girls we talk to always friendly helpful at the desk. Not sure why this one doesn’t want to help. Clearly in the wrong job with the lack of customer service skills. When we finally also got him into the vets which we had to wait about 2 weeks for an appointment for. He diddnt even help to what was wrong with him: just gave him itching tablets to stop him itching. Not exactly helpful because they’ve still failed to actually find out what’s bothering him to itch clearly just want more money out of people to make us go back because clearly itching isn’t just going to go away with itching tablets for 5 days when there’s clearly something underlying bothering him to itch so he’s of course resorted to it again!

Negative experience: I don’t very often publicly comment on a companies socials or review pages but this time I feel compelled to. As registered breeders of dogs, and have our dogs registered with Vets4Pets Derby, I telephoned today to book in a litter of 9 puppies for microchipping and 1st vaccinations along with flea and worm treatment. As my wife and I both work full time while doing this the weekend is normally the only time we get to travel, they are some 15 miles away from us, but today I had the following responses to my request, from their receptionist. 1. We don’t do vaccinations at weekends. 2 9 puppies would be too many for one vet, we can only do 4 at a time. In response to this I asked for another appointment after the original for the remaining puppies to be told no, you have to come back for the next 4 on another day. I will add that the puppy pack for this litter would be £800+, but our business is not good enough for you. Well thank you for your time, but not only have you lost the check for this litter, but we will be transferring all our dogs to another vet who WILL and CAN deal with 9 puppies.

Fantastic experience: I rushed my cat, Benji, to the vets at Meteor Centre after seeing him pant and struggle to breathe. I can’t express enough how supportive and gentle the team was with him—they made sure he was seen immediately. Dawn, the vet, was absolutely amazing—so genuine in her care for Benji. I made it clear that while Benji means the world to me, I needed to be mindful of the cost and I asked that we only perform the tests and checks that were truly necessary to help him, Dawn and the reception were more than understanding and respectful of this. She took the time to thoroughly explain the x-ray results, what they strongly suspected was wrong and the options we had in depth. They even consulted a specialist at no extra cost and did everything possible to help Benji. After treatment, they monitored him closely to ensure Dawn was satisfied with his recovery before sending him home. Although we received a terminal diagnosis, Benji is now much more comfortable, and his medications will help keep him that way until he’s ready to cross the kitty rainbow. My heart is broken, but I can’t thank Dawn and the reception team enough for their care and compassion towards myself and Benji, as well as helping make my little boy comfortable until he is ready to leave us.

Negative experience: Just had the most awful experience with Pets At Home Derby Meteor vets. Wtaf! Took 3 kittens in to be vet checked through cats protection as we’re fostering and all of a sudden this vets wants to foster them we said well if you want to foster go through cats protection as I’m sure they’d love your help as they’re struggling right now. They were kept from us during this time might I add so we didn’t have a clue what was going on. She then said she was going to take them in the back to work them as even though we’d been there for over 45 minutes as it is. We waited and waited and waited and half hour later this vet comes out with cats protection on the phone, luckily cats protection rang my partner to see what was going on and it turns out that the vet had LIED and told them our house is riddled with cat flu and that we’ve said we can’t cope… Excuse me what?!… Cats protection have been to our house so it’s quite funny. We took these to be VET CHECKED not thrown in a kennel until the vet decides whether she wants to keep one or two or maybe all 3 but Jesus Christ. So because a general check up that would take 15-20 took an hour and a half the kittens had accidents in the carrier and have now got to be bathed. Awful experience honestly. If you want to foster or adopt get yourself on the adoption list like everyone else, just because you’re a professional does not mean you get to skip the queue!

Fantastic experience: The whole team were incredibly supportive when I had to make the decision to put my dog to sleep. On the day, everyone was incredibly kind and you could see they genuinely cared. A few days later, a card, a poem and a packet of seeds arrived. Very unexpected and incredibly thoughtful. Fantastic experience: We've always used vets4pets, and this is why we'd never change. We had our dog Nellie booked in for spaying last Thursday, 29/3/24. First class experience from start to finish. The suregon Jason (whom we had for the first time) did a teriffic job and was happy to answer any questions we had. We could not have asked for a better suregon clearly a very professional and knowledgeable vet. The nurses are amazing. They also ensured Nellie's experience was the best it could be, including advice on aftercare. Front of house staff were also great in getting us booked in and handling a repeat prescription query we also needed. Thank you so much to the whole team at vets4pets for making a nervous journey a perfect one.

Negative experience: I used to take my dog here for the vets for 14 years because I thought I was getting a good service which was value for money. After changing vets, I realise just how poor their service is. The staff are judgemental, they pressure and upsell on medical conditions and are generally quite unkind. The reception staff are different however, one of the nurses who works on reception from time to time has a terrible attitude and even worse customer service skills. I think the staff as a whole aren't doing the job because they love it, they are clearly just trying to meet corporate targets. Jason was very kind over the years and I've never really felt pressured by him. Since dealing with a different vet, I have also realised that the pricing was far higher than a good vet and they were over charging through my pet insurance which was pushing up my premiums. When I made appointments, I was always left waiting at least 45 minutes after my appointment time and given no apology or explanation. We also had two cats put to sleep here and both experiences were quite harrowing. One of them went into spasm in my arms, the other died growling, I later found out they should have been given a sedative first to make the process easier on the animals AND us, but neither of them were given a sedative. I would look elsewhere for a good vet who are transparent with their pricing, and actually care about what they do. I'm pretty sure these make up their prices and treatments as they go.

Fantastic experience: My partner and I visited the practice on 9/10/2023 with our beloved Cat Bella, my little old lady. The vet was absolutely fantastic. Unfortunately she was very unexpectedly put to sleep after learning of her diagnosis. The vet was incredibly professional and explained what was wrong with our cat and what would happen, whilst my partner and I were and still are completely heartbroken. Bella received the utmost care as did we. She passed away with the dignity she deserved. I know this is not the standard review that is usually left but the service provided was perfect and heartbreaking equally. Thankyou for taking care of us in those heartbreaking moments. Fantastic experience: Jason is fantastic. Our doggy who doesn't like many people was comfortable and happy to go with him. He was calm and relaxed and explained everything that we wanted to know. He was happy to see us for the health check , remembered our doggy and took time to listen.Looked in her mouth , checked her teeth and explained about the medicines she was given and offered advice. Negative experience: Unfortunately after 11 and half years was forced to find a new vet as they won't see my dog Any more due to what they said was a break down of trust, basically a admin mess up on their part and a receptionist lying to cover their own back. I'd record all calls with this practises reception team just so you can't be made out to have done something you haven't done, in the 11 years and 6 months my dog received brilliant pet care can't fault it, just a shame it's ended up like this and the only one that it really effects ( the dog) done nothing wrong :(

Positive experience: Took my 1 year old dog in for his injections and they were really good with him but I felt slightly robbed by the end. Said my dog had an ear infection when the ears were alittle dirty, surely with an infection my dog would have made me aware or complained.. I just ended up with an unexpected whopping bill. Fantastic experience: My dogs don't like you going to the vets they get very stressed. But as soon as we get to the vets desk the receptionists always make a big fuss of both my dogs which helps to put them feel more at ease. All the vets in there are very nice and helpful nothing is to much trouble and they explain everything they are are doing and whats going on.

Negative experience: I used this vets alot when my dogs were puppies , never been impressed with the care they received , I had one spayed there and since moving vets and having another dog spayed elsewhere has made me see what an awful experience my dog had with them after surgery she was handed over to me no pain relief for home just yeah everything went well any problems let us know, this particular dog has never EVER been right since! My dog who's been spayed elsewhere has been given pain relief for home the level of care she's recieved compared to this vets is unreal!! They have a true passion and can tell they adore the pets they care for, vets4pets you get that feeling they just don't have that caring nature. I'd avoid at all cost! This was around 2020-2021 it's only since having a dog spayed in the new vets that has brought me to leave review for this one.

Fantastic experience: Excellent customer care from start to finish. Rang prior to appointment to discuss procedure ( castration puppy). Nurse returned call and gave re-assurance. On arrival on the day seen by vet Dawn. Very caring. Offered to check puppy over during anaesthetic. Call when procedure over by nurse, very re-assuring. On collection good information for aftercare given by Alice. Written information given also. Receptionist Victoria excellent, as always. Follow up phone call the next day by nurse Alice to check how puppy was. Always an excellent, compassionate and caring team. Thank you all.

Fantastic experience: This vets is SO lovely. Took my dog there for her jabs last year, and they were SO good with her. She is a large breed and can writhe and thrash when they are trying to inject her, but the way they handled her was so gentle and caring it reduced her stress 100%. Prices are really good here too, they genuinely care about animals and people. We will be back for her jabs in September for her jabs, no question. They can easily compete with another big name vets in Derby, their service is second to none. The shop it is located in is also wonderful, I love having a look at the little critters once we are done in the vets, and it's right there if you need any over the counter supplies such as flea and worm prevention too. Such a lovely place.

Fantastic experience: All the staff are amazing. They’re so friendly and welcoming. When I have questions, everyone has always made sure I get all the info I need. Every single member of staff cares deeply about the well-being of the animals they see and I couldn’t feel safer anywhere else. They reassured me about the procedure my cat was having, and when I came to collect her, they checked in with me to see if I was worried and how I was feeling, which is so incredibly kind. Negative experience: Had to pay £35 for a consultation to tell me what they had already told me previously, sent me away with antibiotics for something which was "likely not the issue" for which I had to pay more for. Was all quite stressful.

Fantastic experience: Booking an appointment was easy, quick, the receptionist was competent and friendly. The vet was caring, interested, took the time to understand the problem and was very good with explaining the findings of the consultation and investigations, formulated detailed care plan, discussed outcomes and possible future treatments to consider.

Fantastic experience: Spoke with vet Dawn when ordering repeat prescription. Left message with friendly receptionist & Dawn phoned back promptly. Took time to ask important questions about my cat who she recalled instantly. Gave advice & arranged for collection of medication. All empathetically & free! Genuine care & well being of my pet unlike another vet practice who stated that a minute call with 3 questions would cost £28

Negative experience: Normally good service, but on this occasion, at least 30 min delay for scheduled appointment, with no explanation. At least 2 customers were seen before myself, who arrived after me. Vet queried why we were seeing her and then said the nurse could have carried out the health check. I then Informed her that the appontment was allocated by reception. Dental treatment was briefly explained with more detail offered, after my request. Maybe felt under pressure?

Fantastic experience: Just came to pick up flea and worming treatment through the health care plan. It ensures that throughout the year Alfred is protected from both fleas and worms. Just a phone call and I can pick up when convenient for me. Always a friendly service!

Negative experience: I started using this vets on a recommendation for Jason who apparently is great but I was never able to book with him. I am autistic and have mental health issues and I was told this practice would be understanding of this. My elderly cat Bobby was mostly seen by Diana Roman, who I found to be quite rude and cold. Bob was 15 and had a lot of long term issues and I spent thousands on tests and treatments over a few months to try and get her well. Ms Roman was constantly trying to up sell, trying to convince me that more expensive tests were needed just to 'double check' their own lab results etc. Bob had most of her teeth removed and was being treated for a virus, she became so ill in the end, there was a suspected tumor and she would have needed MRI scans and more invasive treatments. I was distraught and needed 5 minutes to process this and call a family member for support, Ms Romans response to this was accusatory, telling me not to abandon Bob, which was the farthest thing from my mind. I had to offer to leave my purse with the receptionist to proove i wasnt going to leave her there! I was forced to make the decision to say goodbye to my beloved pet. Ms Roman attempted to up sell even on this, trying to sell me a fancy urn to put her ashes in while I was in no state to make any other decisions. Bob's final moments were handled with care, but I will never take any of my pet's to them ever again.

Fantastic experience: Jason looked at the history in the system in order to make a suitable and reasonable recommendation for adequate treatment without pushing for anything else that would have been more invasive and costly. The team are always great!
