Fantastic experience: We took our cat, named Cat in with a suspected urinary blockage, which can be fatal. The front desk staff were lovely, they helped us with our finance and insurance and went above and beyond to help us, the vet care when booking in was stellar as they were very clear and communicative about issues. When we got the call to come pick him up a few hours later, the level of detail given to us on the phone about his care and furthermore the level of tests and care given for the price is amazing. They went above and beyond to explain so much to us about what testing they’d done and what had been done!! Then on collecting him, they were quick to see us and gave us such detailed information (we have had a blocked cat before so have a lot of experience with it) even things we didn’t know like that certain types of urinary food treat different types of crystals- like I said, above and beyond. They gave us a calming cat going home kit, detailed information on UTIs and blockages, and went over it verbally. They even will do a follow up appointment in a week with Cat. My cat was chirpy and cuddly with the vet letting her scratch his chin when we arrived despite being very scared and hiding under clothes in his carrier when we dropped him off. I wish we knew people’s names for the review, but both vets we spoke to, the veterinary nurse staff, and the front desk staff were all lovely, clear, and helpful. Just above and beyond service, really impressed as a multi-cat owner of years!!

Fantastic experience: Took our cat named cat into the clinic as he has his urinary track blocked. They were bloody brilliant. Very informative and super helpful. Hopefully I do not need to see them again for obvious reasons.

Fantastic experience: Plenty of parking. Comfortable waiting room. Friendly staff.

Fantastic experience: I get refered here by my vet. It has huge facilities & equipment. Large spacious area to queue & wait. Lots of parking space & 24 hour emergency facility. The receptionists were very friendly...great drinks machine! The consultation & treatment was excellent...as was their communication with me. You need to make sure that your insurance will cover your pets condition as the cost of this service doesn't come cheap. You will be required to pay an amount upfront for treatment, and consultation.

Fantastic experience: We can’t thank you enough for everything you have done for us and for Peggy. We are so aware that she really shouldn’t have survived, and we owe a very special thank you to Millie for saving her! Thank you to all the nurses for taking such great care of her, for the cuddles, patience, and for dealing with the messy parts of her recovery too. It really didn’t go unnoticed. Thank you for the part each and every one of you played in her care, and for always being honest, supportive, and compassionate towards us.

Negative experience: Very poor experience, misdiagnosed, wrong follow up appointments booked and hospitalised our rabbit for 2 days under the premise of running diagnostics. Instead did not attempt any and caused enough stress to induce stasis and then delivered only emergency care. Came back in a worse condition than he went in and wasted a week waiting for a diagnostic appointment which didn't happen where his condition deteriorated making his final diagnosis and treatment at the vets he was eventually discharged too more risky and caused unnecessary stress and pain. Very unsatisfied, mainly with the communication and misinformation which meant we did not make the best decisions for our pet and additionally incurred very high and in our opinion unnecessary costs. Overall would not recommend.

Fantastic experience: Unfortunately, my dog had vomited 3 times during the morning, the morning, I rang Scarsdale, requesting an appointment, as she was off her food too. The vet was very thorough with her, even watching how she was walking. Sadly she was diagnosed with Vestibular Disease but I was given some tablets to stop her being sick. I would recommend Scarsdale to anyone!

Fantastic experience: Took my Mabel in for her yearly health check and injections. Had an absolutely fantastic appointment thanks to Debria Smith. She gave a fantastic experience reassuring me of any concerns that I had and best of all giving my Mabel a clean health check. Debria was caring, compassionate, friendly and professional. I left feeling reassured and that my Mabel is health and well. If anything ever happened to Mabel I would want her to be treated by Debria. I would highly recommend going to Pride vets and also have the plan that they have. I pay each month and it covers the cost of Mabel's treatment for fleaing and worming and health checks well worth it for peace of mind. Again massive thank you to Debria Smith from me and Mabel

Fantastic experience: My beloved Bella was referred here by my vet to establish via ct scan what was causing the problems in her jaw. Much as we had all hoped and prayed it was an infection, it was cancer. The staff and vets were so kind to Bella and myself,I cannot praise them enough. Unfortunately the damage was extensive, so my decision to have her put to sleep before it spread was the right decision for her. Throughout it all I was shown nothing but compassion. The loss of my beloved Bella has left me devastated , she was my girl, constant companion and the love of my life. The silence in the house is deafening. Scarsdale vets is a wonderful place to receive the best possible experience for your pet. Thank you to all the staff, from a very grateful cat Mum.

Negative experience: Surprising to know today that Pride Park lost my pet's urine sample and no one aware for this! I am going to have business trip and not sure what else the vet can remediate, especially during the weekend..... poor services...

Sean Paul Posted on Google 5 months ago

Fantastic experience: From our first visit to our most recent visit the staff are very helpful and you can tell the vets want to help and are animal lovers. They have helped look after our boy... and they are very knowledgeable on greyhounds....which is very good.... especially as our boy is an ex-racer who is only 2 years and 8 months old.

Fantastic experience: Our beautiful baby Willow lost all use of back legs, she was in an horrendous sorry state. Went to our local vets who suggested she may have a slipped disc. They phoned Scarsdale and within a couple of hours we were in a room with Flora, a neurosurgeon. They went through everything with us every step of the way. Willow had MRI which concluded that she had a slipped disc pressing on her spinal column. Flora phoned us and explained everything including the surgery she needed. We could have lost her. We didn’t. They saved her life and now she is expected to make an amazing recovery. Flora was amazing, the staff were amazing everytime we phoned them and they phoned us. We got our baby girl back. At 4 years old she is going to have her full life ahead of her. Thank you to all the team who looked after her. Thank you to Flora the surgeon, the whole of the surgical team and thank you to willows nurse Racheal who took such amazing care of her. What an amazing and outstanding team you all are. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Fantastic experience: Lovely staff. Very clean and airy there. Separate area for cats, away from the dog area, so the cats feel safe. The dog area isn't visible from the cat area. We saw the vet Mr Anders, he was lovely and very caring to my daughters cat and my daughter. Likes to look after the pets parents as well as the pet. I highly recommended him.

Negative experience: Our cat was diagnosed with B1 deficiency and was told with medication you’ll see an improvement within 3 days, 2 days after leaving our cat had a massive seizure and had to be put to sleep after our local vet saw the MRI scans he couldn’t believe he was sent home in this condition, put in a formal complaint to the people who sign off vets and they said everything was handled the correct way! Giving people false hope after spending nearly £7000 with them, avoid this vets at all costs!

Fantastic experience: I bought my Hugo to the vets last sunday as he was off his food and took a turn during the night. Unfortunately I didn't get to bring him home with me. But I just wanted to say thank you for the level of care and compassion I received while there. The vet was lovely and let me have plenty of time with him to say goodbye. And today I received his paw prints and some fur along with a lovely card

Fantastic experience: We saw a Cardiologist whose knowledge & experience is second to none, as my Dog's immediate health condition has improved significantly. My only criticism was the size of the bill as it was very expensive. A very bitter pill to swallow.

Jane Davis Posted on Google 8 months ago

Fantastic experience: On Friday after our George was attacked by another dog. We rushed to Scarsdale vets and though a very expensive experience the vet we dealt with called Millie was absolutely fantastic and worked tirelessly to ensure the best care for George. All the staff from the gent I spoke to on the phone to all the nurses on shift were fantastic with me and George and I am so thankful. He is only still here on the mend for the work that you have done. Thank you !

Fantastic experience: Scarsdale vets were brilliant when my dog daisy got pyometra. We rang the Langley mill branch for advice and they referred us to pride park straight away. All the staff at both branches were brilliant. Pride park saved Daisy's life because of their quick response. She had surgery the next day. All the staff were very kind and supportive. I want to thank all the staff involved with the care daisy received.

Negative experience: Don’t take your cats here. I have been consistently let down by the standard of care. My kitten’s burst abscess was missed twice — it was only found after I insisted on a more thorough check. Even then, the wound was left uncleaned and unshaved, and I was given no proper aftercare advice beyond wiping the area with a dry cloth. This follows a previous experience where an eye ulcer was also overlooked and left untreated. I’ve had to manage both situations myself with little guidance. Sadly, I no longer trust this practice with my pet’s health.

Paulina Lis-Jones Posted on Google 9 months ago

Negative experience: In recent years, the Scarsdale has become transactional. Back in October, our dog was left in there for 2 nights, done all tests (apparently), including xrays and ultrasound. All tests came back "INCONCLUSIVE" and they wanted more and more..all they are interested in is money. And the vet was rude and cold and dismissive over the phone, and wouldn't let me speak. Last week local branch referred our dog (again!!) for extensive and invasive tests that were unnecessary. Thankfully, this time, we listened to our "gut" and went to a different vet for a second opinion. Not only saved further trauma and needless invasive testing and anaesthesia, but also saved thousands of pounds! No wonder pet insurance is so expensive. This company is a prime example of money making, greedy attitude. They don't care about our dog. The fact they would leave her in hospital (she's a rescue and nervous) sedate and anaesthetise her unnecessary, at old age, poke and prod with needles and biopsies, that, we were told at our second consultation, would never heal due to the area, didnt listen to anything we had to say, shows who they are as a company. They just want money and make you feel bad if you question them. Their answer to everything is tests, tests, and tests...as long as they can suck the insurance dry. Stay away.

Anne-Marie Dibden Posted on Google 9 months ago

Negative experience: I waited 50 minutes to get my dogs repeat prescription of flea treatment. The medication doesn't need to be weighed. Staff just need to pick the right weight range box, print a sticker off and that's it. The reception staff were nice and answered calls well and understanding. The receptionist that was dealing with my prescription chased it up twice for me and still took almost a hour. My husband wasted range in his car just waiting in his car in 32 degree as needed air con on and our dog was in the car as cooler with air con on. Disgusting service

Fantastic experience: I cannot recommend Scarsdale Vets enough! We've recently moved to the area and as a result we didnt have a registered veterinary surgery yet. We unfortunately had an emergency with our cat and after contacting other out of hours vets in the area who weren't willing to help with our situation, scarsdale were more than happy to accommodate. They understood our situation and prioritised the welfare of our cat above anything else. We were seen quickly, and the women on reception were understanding and helpful with all the details from our cats care down to the paperwork. Unfortunately, we did have to make the decision to put our beautiful cat to sleep, but this was done with the utmost respect, care and dignity. We were not rushed into the decision, the vet was highly knowledgeable and reassuring to us upon us making this decision. They handled the care and whole process of my cats treatment beautifully and respectfully, giving us all the time we needed to say our goodbyes. Our cat was treated professionally, respectfully and amazingly by every member of staff we encountered on our visit. I cant thank all of the staff enough for accommodating us and being so kind and respectful during a tough decision and a tough time for us. Thank you!

Fantastic experience: Specialists are few and far between, and doggy cardiologists doubly so, I’d imagine, and so the 90 minute drive to get to Scarsdale vets is worth it if only for their expertise. Add to that their obvious love for the animals, wonderful bedside manner and willingness to spend as much time as needed in explaining both diagnosis and prognosis in language as easy or as detailed as you want from them, and seeing our girl into her forage with as much comfort and quality of life as possible is worth the money and the travel.

Negative experience: Grievance / complaint against your… Grievance / complaint against your Derby Pride branch. 07/04/25 I came home from work & my 3-year-old Staffordshire Bull Terrier daisy was bringing up pure blood. Unfortunately, our vet Highland Vets had no one available & we could not wait for the emergency vets to open at 6.30pm so we called your Stapenhill branch, they could also not see her so booked us in with you. By the time we got to you she had brought up a large amount of blood 7 times total. One of your reception team said they see this all the time & normal!!! After seeing the vet, she said she would keep Daisy in but when discussing how we proceed with insurance etc she changed her mind gave her sickness injection & sent us home!! Saying see your normal vet the next day. The next day Highland vets battled all day to stabilize her for us to bring back to Derby for blood transfusion. She did not make it & DIED in my arms. She should have been kept in with you, your vet spoke over us & did not listen (we tried to show her pictures of the blood she did not look), I did not say I want to take her home SHE told me to, so I trusted her. I want an outcome out this this ruined me I am heartbroken beyond belief & this could / should have 100% been prevented!!

Positive experience: We've been customers here for five years now and always found the team professional and generally helpful. We find it rather expensive, but feel this is across the sector not just this company. Onsite parking is ample, and there are designated seating areas for types of pet, and anxious pets.

Negative experience: I lost 2 cats at this surgery within 3 months and the attitude and behaviour of their staff was disgusting. My cat Deco, 9 years old, had been off his food for a couple of days , he would take treats from me but not eat his cat food. After 3 days of this he then disappeared, and I found him the next morning hiding in our garage in a terrible state. I rushed him to Scarsdale and two hours later they called me to tell me was in kidney failure and there was nothing they could do, they told me to give my consent to put him to sleep. I refused and asked them to keep him on fluids until at least the end of the day to see if there was any signs of recovery. They told me to do this would be cruel to him as he was suffering and the best option was to have him put down. The vet calling me to advise this spoke about Deco like he was an object, no compassion, understanding, hope, nothing. I argued through back and forth phone calls for hours trying to come to some sort of compromise where they would at least try to save Deco's life but they continuously refused. I had to let my boy go and i was utterly devastated. Three months later, my perfectly healthy cat Nuno, (Deco's brother), suddenly took sick one night. I had given him the rest of a chicken leg I'd been eating earlier, and my first thought was that this is what made him sick. I held him while he was being sick for the second time, and when he had finished and I pulled back I noticed his vomit was black, he weakened considerably and was panting. At 1am I called Scarsdale and rushed him down. Nine hours later, the same robot vet who had brow beaten me into ending Deco's life called me to say Nuno had leukemia and there was nothing they could do. I thought to myself that I refuse to go through this again, so I called another vet, explained the situation and asked if they would look at Nuno and give me a second opinion. They eventually agreed, so I headed down to get Nuno. When I arrived, they refused to hand Nuno over to me, when I asked why, they said I would need to clear my outstanding bill for Deco before they could release him. Nuno was apparently on deaths door and they were arguing that without the £60 payment that was left on Deco's bill, they would keep Nuno on death's door. I started to raise my voice stating they were holding my dying pet to ransom, and so they quickly ushered me into a back room. There I spent the next hour with the credit control manager and one of her staff members who only wanted to talk to me about their rules regarding money owed on accounts. I told them I wasn't going to allow them to kill another one of my pets without getting advice from another vet first, they asked me where I was taking him, I told them it was none of their business. They lied to me and said they needed to know where he was going so they could send his file over, I told them that I knew this was a lie as the other vet had already told me they would apply for his file. They then accused me of not taking him to another vet at all, that I would just take him home and they were concerned about Nuno's welfare. Give me a break. They then called in the robot vet, who had suddenly developed an ounce of compassion in front of the credit control manager, to then baffle me with medical jargon to explain why Nuno was dead and buried and I should just give up. So now it was 3 of them, against me, in a tiny office, and I was emotionally wrecked trying to fight my corner. In the end I gave in. This whole experience was absolutely shocking to me. The unprofessionalism, lack of care, empathy. In both instances of my boys passing I was nowhere near equipped emotionally to deal with the absolutely disgusting lack of values the people in this practice purvey. It was like I was in a living nightmare. Take your beloved pets elsewhere. This practice does not care about your animals. They care about money alone.

Negative experience: Highly recommend you DO NOT use this vets they don’t care about the pets they lie to you all they want is the money! and there complaints just take the staffs side waste of space! My poor dog came home covered in blood they said they cleaned him no chance in this world they cleaned him one vet set he had eaten and been toilet other said he hadn’t! My poor dog looked like he had been butchered! If you want your animal to go thru hell and butchered then go of not I highly recommend going else where

Negative experience: Would give zero stars if I cloud they basic you off what you look like not when you actually have in the bank to spend on your pet my dog went to Langley mill one and they was amazing with my English and then he needed to be transferred I was told by the vet at pride that they would do bloods and blood gas’s and everything he got to pride at 7.45 told the vet that price wasn’t a problem showed her my bank to prove it wasn’t a problem she quoted me 1000 for the night for him I said you can go sell over I don’t care just save my English I then got a call at 2.55 in the morning to say they was now breathing for him while I was on the phone he had a cardiac arrest witch he came back from bit the vet was to busy trying to d&r him and I said save him even tho she knew this as it was also on the pice of paper I also told her I was on my way back to the vets I was 10 minutes away when she rang to stay she had put him to sleep with out my consent Dexter died at the hands of the vet that didn’t do any blood work no x ray of his lungs or anything I have also rang the best of the best vets and they have all said Dexter should be still alive if everything had of been done I do not trust this vets with a barge pole they are lucky I’m don’t doing them for criminal damage and niglet as I also have his medical history saying he was a happy fit dog he just needed bowas

Fantastic experience: Last Thursday I had to take my Dog William to Oakwood he had an Abses oh the side of his face. I got there the sevice was excellent they got him in the next Morning Friday to take him to Pride Park. The service there was second to non they took 10 teeth out. They cared for him very well. He his terrifed to go to the Vets but they manage him very well. Then on Sunday I was looking after My Daughters dog Ted who took ill and went down hill very quickly. I rang them and I took him in Straight away he was in a bad way. So I decided to have him put to sleep it broke my heart to have to make that disision on my own. But they were so kind and caring they let me say goodbye to him. The service was excellent to both dog's. I can't thank Scarsdale Vets enough they are the Best.❤️

Fantastic experience: Contacted Scarsdale in a panic this evening about a stray cat that needed treatment. They were so kind and calm on the phone and just as friendly when I got there. I really appreciated this welcome attitude and felt really confident to leave the cat there in their care. So much so, I am going to move my own cats to this vet. Thank you ❤️

Fantastic experience: Great service with my kitten here, always accommodating. Vet anders is amazing and my cat is so confident when in the room due to the great care. Reception staff always so friendly and take time to speak to me and my cat. Welcoming place.

Fantastic experience: Anders is AMAZING!!!! My dog has been having limping issues and the other vet she has seen have dished out prescriptions like I have a money tree. Anders was so kind, caring and compassionate and just an all round wonderful human being. Thank you so much

Fantastic experience: Had an emergency appointment for my kitten who fell out of a window (he is totally fine!). They were quick, helpful and very kind. So grateful for their service today and would 100% recommend.

Fantastic experience: I wouldn't use any other VET all the staff from reception up to the clinicians very friendly welcoming and extremely knowledgeable. my dog is quite nervous but the vet always takes time to put her at ease before starting any procedures

Fantastic experience: All the staff I interacted with were caring to both my cat and myself, and beyond helpful during our referral. Even managing to source a phone charger for me to borrow while I waited for my little girl to be tested. Thank you all.

Negative experience: Ridiculously expensive. I was not informed of costs A 10 to 15 minute appointment and some painkiller cost me £127. I am looking to move my cat to another vet.

Fantastic experience: They did their best. Very good care after the loss of a cherished pet.

Fantastic experience: On 25th January 2025, we had an emergency with our girl Mollie, we came here and the care from start to finish was simply amazing. It was late at night when we came and unfortunately we ended up having to make the heartbreaking decision to have our beautiful girl put to sleep due to a spleen rupture and internal bleeding. The whole event was traumatic and sudden. The vet who looked after her was Sophie and I cannot thank her enough for making those final moments peaceful and calm for our girl. She was truthful and empathetic. She allowed time to think things through and she was amazing afterwards. My sincere thanks to all who were involved in Mollie's care that night, especially Sophie. You made something traumatic, easier with your caring and empathetic attitude. My heart is broken for my girl but I wanted to thank you for all your help and support during a truly difficult time.

Negative experience: We had a dreadful experience here. It seems the staff get a weird kick out of being rude, unfriendly & downright difficult. The gas lighting that goes on is incredible. Pricing is off the charts greedy & all they seem to care about is money money money! Our pet wasn't treated with respect and neither were we. They will not accept any responsibility for their errors and are very defensive on all levels. We will be reporting them to the Rrelevent authorities. Disgusting practice. Look elsewhere to take your pets.

Fantastic experience: This was first posted 19 months after our Louie needed emergency surgery for a disintegrating disc in his neck. One photo is Lou the DAY AFTER surgery, the next a month later, and one taken about a month ago out in the sunshine. Who would quibble over price to see this handsome fella still doing so well? Thank you X An update : now 5 years on, Louie is still a healthy cocker spaniel in his 15th year, he enjoys his walks, comes trotting for treats and goes up and down stairs 3 or four times a day. I hope the vets and assistant nurses see this to know how much joy they have given us. Sadly, we lost Louie at 16 years old. So he had 6 pain free years after his operation. He gave many people a lot of happiness and we loved and were proud of him ❤️

Fantastic experience: Absolutely amazing vets. I'm away at my mums and my dog was unwell, we took her here and they were so caring and considerate. The vet was very caring, understanding, and very informative of what we had to do. They treated my dog as if she was their own, even carrying her body back to my car for me. I would highly, highly recommend these to everyone.

Brogan Nolan Posted on Google 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: Wonderful place, everyone cares about animals just as much or even more than owners Very helpful staff, after long journeys I asked if my car could pee anywhere before driving home to reduce stress on her, absolutely no issues at all lots of helpful items to reduce anxiety, scented bandanas, blankets, high up areas for cats farrr away from dogs, dog lead holders and water whenever needed, even colour coded rooms so anyone knows from the outside if the dog inside is nervous or completely chill. Huge shop variety, vending machine and toilets. But mostly the care they provide is outstanding, overnight updates if animals need to stay for procedures. Constantly informed of changes or just to keep you informed to reduce worry. They understand and want to help however they can and most importantly they always suggest what's best for the animal and clearly explain all the options. They also stay in contact via email, if you have questions about ongoing issues. There is always someone onsite overnight and there is always mostly a staff member designated for animal care out back, so on tap cuddles and food and litter changes or just to keep them company. Our two cats are now blood donors with them, so if an emergency happens and they need a reserve for surgery, your animal can help out. They get a complete health check first of course and a little goody bag for helping (they are high when given and are only selected if it doesn't injure the animal mentally) and considering how much I love my tiny family fur balls, I wouldn't subject them to anything without complete trust, that they would care for them as I do. I cannot express how much I appreciate how they treated us and the furball from onsite Investigatory surgery, to at home aftercare.

Fantastic experience: I would rate this vets more than 5 stars if I could, they have been absolutely brilliant. After our dog needed emergency spinal surgery due to grade 5 ivdd, they kept us updated every day on his recovery and sent pictures, he seemed so content in their care. I have no doubt they truly do care about your pet as if they were their own. Not only this but despite his odds he is making steady progress and is now looking positive to potentially make a full recovery from the ivdd. We can’t thank you enough!

Jo Posted on Google 1 year ago

Negative experience: Open on a Sunday Wasn’t given enough care for the pet which ultimately costs more money which includes the death of a very beloved pet Wasn’t given the correct treatment or diagnosis Cat was suffering due to lack of care and lack of tests Unfortunately pet has recently passed due to them not giving the cat the correct diagnosis sooner so therefore if this was caught sooner the cat wouldn’t have suffered until the time the cat was sent to heaven. Unfortunately didn’t want to take the cat back to the same practice as wanted a second opinion which ultimately costs everyone involved unnecessary upset.

Negative experience: On 20/10/24 I took an unwell stray cat in to pride vets. He had already been under my care for 2 weeks and had seen a different vet in this time under RSPCA referral, as they didn't have any space at any rescues for him. As his condition didn't improve on current medication, I was advised by the RSPCA to take him to a vet again, this time I took him to pride vets. When I handed him over I asked that I was kept updated as I wished to adopt him and they agreed. On 22/10/24 I recieved a call from Pride Vets stating they wanted to release him, also stating he was aggressive and unadoptable. I disagreed, I have plenty of proof that in my care he was an absolute sweetheart and I also didn't understand how he could possibly be released in the poor condition he was in without any treatment. This vet was unaware that I'd had him for 2 weeks previously and the entire tone changed when I stated this. They confirmed he hadn't been treated, was still unwell and they wanted to put him back out on the streets as it was "in his best interest". I offered to take him back, that I'd pay for his treatment as my pet and they refused. I contacted the vet I previously took him to, as well as the RSPCA who both agreed that they would be breaking the RCVS code of professional conduct by releasing him. The vet at pride and myself came to an agreement that we would find him a rescue, however I was told that if a rescue wasn't found they would end up letting him go as a feral to a "safe place where he would still be fed". A space was offered at cats protection, but not for a week. Pride told me they would "keep him comfortable" for a week and then CP would take him, but didn't mention any teatment in this time. Meanwhile, I was contacted personally by Cats Protection who confirmed they were waiting for him to go to them, then we could begin the process of me adopting him through them. Fast forward to a week later (27/10/24) and I recieved a call from Cats Protection saying that Pride vets had pulled out and wouldn't be sending him to them anymore. I called Pride vets and they wouldn't give me any information other than that he was still in their care currently and he's "going to a safe place". They wouldn't confirm if this was a rescue, a place where he would live as a feral or a foster home. But from what I was previously told, as well the fact I called every rescue in a 50 mile radius trying to find space for him (of which only cats protection had any) when I was told that was the only option other than being released, I can only assume they're going to be doing just that. Releasing him. I have endless videos of him being the sweetest boy, so it would entirely unnecessary to do that. Regardless of if Pride wants to incorrectly call him "unadoptable and aggressive." I asked why they pulled out when Cats Protection were so happy to offer him a space and still they wouldn't answer. How is any of this better than him coming to back to me, to a safe home where he would want for nothing? I own my home, work short hours, devote myself to animals and he'd also have a safe, loving home for life with another sweet cat. What could possibly top any of that? They stated it's in his best interest, but I genuinely don't know how it could be. Funny how when I spent £10k to save my dogs life they bent over backwards trying to help and keep me in the loop. Now it's just a stray cat, there's none of that.

Fantastic experience: Cannot Fault the staff and the conduct towards myself and my cat. After having a severe adverse reaction to something they were so delicate in dealing with her. Keeping me informed throughout the process, advising what the best course of action would be. Phenomenal patience with me, and outstanding support and dedication to my cat. Cannot praise you all enough…. Thank you!!!

Fantastic experience: We have been here 3 times now on emergency with our dog. The reception staff are very attentive and caring. The vets themselves seem very knowledgeable and freindly. It is not the cheapest vets but for us has been worth every penny. So thank you all.

Fantastic experience: Came to these vets with my nephew few months ago. Was really impressed how well his dog was looked after. Staff were very welcoming and caring. I got exactly the same reception and care for my dog. Well done guys. Keep it up

Fantastic experience: I've taken my dogs to Scarsdale for all the years I've lived in Derby. When they were a small surgery on Kedleston Rd their professionalism was of a high standard so I was praying the same standards of care would prevail once they expanded and moved to the Pride Park. My little lad has just had two difficult operations on his back legs and I cannot fault the level of care and attention we've both recieved.

Fantastic experience: Wonderful experience at Scarsdale vets. We took a poorly cat for an emergency visit. Everyone there was helpful and reassuring. We would definitely go there again if needed

Brendan Posted on Google 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: We have to put our cat lucky to sleep. Everything was explained before and during his treatment

Lily 1 Posted on Google 1 year ago

Negative experience: I really wish I could love this vets as the physical care for my dog has been second to none however the customer care just isn’t at the same standard. I was impressed with how my dog was taken care of through his surgery however for appointments I have had to wait up to 45 minutes past the appointment time to be met with “we were waiting for you” even though I checked in with the desk over 45 mins ago, I will note the ladies on the desk were always lovely and very apologetic offering a drink etc. My dog was misdiagnosed for a month, we spent £1000+ on testing just for the surgeon to call me once he was under to say just from looking at his neck he could tell he was misdiagnosed and they were changing the type of surgery, so all of this testing was for no reason. After the surgery when we went to pick he up the front desk had all of the wrong information and tried to mischarge us for the surgery, admittedly not the lady on the desks fault who was reading the system but nonetheless a bit of a panic!! Overall could just do with bit better organisation but my dog has come out happy and was all resolved in the end.

Fantastic experience: Back in July my Dog came down with an Illness where he lost all his abilities to walk, bark & eat .we have a Working Cocker spaniel so you can Imagine a dog that bounces on & off the walls to Nothing was quite worrying . After 2 days of going to our Normal Vets in Birmingham. With 2 different dignonises well Day 3 we got referred to Scarsdale vet's & Pride referrals . They were Amazing from the minute we stepped in the door & still ongoing they have all been Amazing from the Reception Staff all the way up to the vets & training vets. They have Saved our little boy. we Still have to bring him back every 3 weeks for his Chemo but if it was left to our own Vets he wouldn't be with us now .

Fantastic experience: I have used Scarsdale for over 20 years and wouldn't dream of changing. They are all excellent knowledgeable and understanding including vets, reception and the office team. Outstanding in every way!

Laura Posted on Google 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: My lovely dog was referred to the referrals department on Monday, she had a CT Scan on Tuesday and was in Surguery on Wednesday, home on Thursday and back to her normal self. The staff were brilliant, I was informed of costs throughout the process, and communication was great too. Insurance was handled by them too. I would recommend. I understand Scarsdale expensive but with my experience I wouldn't go anywhere else.

Karl Smith Posted on Google 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: From when we got there, the staff helped us got our dog out of the car. She has a spiral fracture, they took excellent care of her and the surgeons kept us well informed of the procedure and costing. Also spot on with the aftercare

Fantastic experience: Great service in a lovely new pet hospital. The reception staff are very customer service friendly and the vets are very knowledgeable and are good at finding alternatives to surgery where possible. You and your pet are treated with respect and understanding! Well worth the referral from my local vet.

Fantastic experience: Excellent service. The vet was very thorough and knowledgeable. She explained everything to us and answered all of our questions. She made a very stressful and upsetting time more pleasant.

Fantastic experience: My friend's dog, Millie, had to be taken here for a major operation...she survived the operation but ,unfortunately, partly due to her age she passed away overnight....I offered to go collect Millie and arrange her cremation.....the staff at Scarsdale were lovely, they treated Millie with respect and made the collection as easy as possible. Perfect service in a difficult and stressful situation.....thanks to all of you x

Positive experience: Very good care of my cat however they do often run late. I assume this is due to emergencies and the referral practice but it’s not gone unnoticed by many people. Reception staff are lovely. I did drop off a sample and was told I would get a call the same day and I’m yet to get the results a week later. It took 3 calls to actually get someone to explain why which in reality isn’t really acceptable when paying £150.

Pristine Lolita Posted on Google 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: Very good experience, the vets did a good job explaining my cat's treatment and progress after a serious fracture. 10 out of 10 would recommend, also it's a 24h practice.

Leah Dalzell Posted on Google 1 year ago

Negative experience: Please never take your animals here. They paralyzed my dog last year, lied to me saying she was fine after surgery and they was taking her outside for a walk when in fact she was completely paralyzed, they left her to hemorrhage for 24 hours before even taking her in for the second surgery where another disc had also gone whilst she was in their care and i even had the manager out in the car park antagonizing me being extremely rude. I had nurses tell me three different ways her bladder was done after surgery so they was all clearly lying knowing full well someone seriously hurt her and caused damage, even the surgeon said in other words 'too much manipulation maybe after theater' so they basically man handled her and caused this. They all lied through their teeth throughout the whole process, i mean the first neurologist Emma thought it wasn't even IVDD and thought it was her knee turns out she was grade 5 so that says it all. They are now sending threatening letters to my home demanding another £2,000 1 YEAR LATER after we have already payed over £10,000. The attitude and lack of empathy was disgusting from all staff and not once have any of them contacted since to check on her. They have caused significant damage to her spine she will never walk again.

Negative experience: Bad experience with Scarsdales 15 years ago at another site. Did nothing to improve my opinion. Exotic vet wouldn't see my boy without a referral. I tried for 2 days to get him in. He has now had to be put to sleep as I couldn't get him an appointment for his issues that were life threatening. He deteriorated so quickly. Every other vet I spoke to said he needs to go to Scarsdale. He had abuse issues from his previous owner so he had issues travelling in a car. So I rang round every vet to get him seen. But they didn't have the equipment. I will NEVER use this company ever again. In fact their lack of caring and their awful receptionist who refused to even ask the vet to see my boy has inspired me to complete my training.

Fantastic experience: We cannot express how thankful we are to have found this vet practice. Our situation was extremely traumatic, with our puppy having three blockages that were missed by Vets4Pets Mapperely that ultimately led to his death. We rushed our puppy here and within seconds the vet told us he needed life saving surgery right away. In the end it was too late for our puppy to have surgery as he had a perforated intestine and was severely deteriorating. This was no fault of the vets at Scaredales as they did everything they could to save him. The vets and receptionists here were sensistive, attentive, caring and extremely compassionate. They gave us multiple phone calls that day to update us on how our puppy was doing. We explained that we had no pet insurance and they were very delicate and sensitive in explaining an interest free instalment plan to help us out. During putting down our puppy, they let us have as long as we needed in a private room with our puppy to spend our final few moments and left us in private with him for as long as we needed after the euthanisation. They offered us paw prints and cuttings of his fur for keepsakes free of charge. We truly cannot express how thankful and grateful to everyone here for helping us in this situation. This practice truly cares for the animals that come into this establishment and YOURSELF. They do not put money first as Vets4Pets have demonstrated to us. They gave us comfort and put us at ease in the time that we really needed it most and for that we will be forever grateful.

Tom Clarke Posted on Google 1 year ago

Negative experience: £13,500 and they couldn't even save my dog. Argued over my insurance and refused to help her until they decided it was valid, which it always was. Putting the business first before my dog's life. Horrible!

Jason Whittle Posted on Google 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: Fortunately I have never needed the emergency vets service before this week. The administration staff were excellent as were the 3 vets I saw over the course of the day. Easy to find and has an ample car park. Large pet shop on site.

Suzanne Hyland Posted on Google 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: I was referred to Pride by my vet, King's in Syston. I am so impressed that they look for the root cause of the issue rather than just throwing medication at it, which in turn causes more issues. They also looked at what bloods, etc, that have already been taken as not to charge again for the same thing. Well done, Maria and her colleague for listening and finding the issue and recommending the natural appropriate treatment before more invasive and toxic treatments. 100% recommended

Helen Riggott Posted on Google 1 year ago

Positive experience: We've used this vets for a long time. The staff are lovely and they will deal direct with insurers for you. Sadly, like most vets, it is expensive and I'm not sure how any vets can justify charging so much for prescriptions.

Kirsten Anne S. Brookes Posted on Google 2 years ago

Negative experience: To an extent I feel like they’re just on about making so much money. Had to chase for a return call! My dog was having some sort of seizure and all they said was keep a log of it and other symptoms (mind you they’ve seen him 72 hours ago unwell and all they did was sent him home without anything!) and they said YOU HAVE TO PICK WHICH ONE BETWEEN HEAD TRAUMA OT SEIZURES IF YOU ARE WORRIED AND WANT TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT. If I was a vet I would know which one wouldn’t I? Hence the reason why I rang to ask for a professional advice but all we got was nothing but zero assurance that our dog our baby is okay. And the frustrating bit is they pride themselves about looking after their customers and animals but I cannot see that!

Carly Macdonald Posted on Google 2 years ago

Negative experience: Used them as a specialist referral from my usual vets. Subsequently was warned by many people about the internal medicine department. The service from start to finish was below what it should be. The interaction with the vet was at best upsetting and at worst traumatising. They wanted to put my pet through experimental treatment at my expense having made it clear it was unlikely to do anything. They made inappropriate comments about other vet’s practices. They were only interested in how interesting a teaching case it was and what extra they could do for their own benefit at my expense. They clearly had zero care or compassion for the animal. The complaints process was a joke. 6 months later they have just sent me my final bill. Overcharging for unnecessary/excessive tests as indicated by an independent vet.other pet owners who I have described my experience too have relayed there similar experience with significant over charging/testing. I am still deeply upset by the experience and how it was handled. I wouldn’t ever go there again. The internal medicine vets I dealt with are a disgrace to the profession.

Fantastic experience: Took our dog as an emergency. Warm welcome by reception staff and they were very kind and caring. The vet filled us with confidence. He spent time explaining what the next steps are. A very positive experience.

Fantastic experience: Emma the neuro vet has treated my elderly parents dog Bonnie. She was amazing and spent plenty of time to listen to our concerns, our thoughts and offered her ideas and the plan for treatment and diagnosing the issues. So far so good, highly recommend all the reception staff too who were very helpful and friendly.

Peter Hulbert Posted on Google 2 years ago

Fantastic experience: Fantastic people who genuinely care. The place itself is huge and easy to find, almost across the road from the football ground. Plenty of parking and a few areas to let your pet stretch their legs. I would recommend this Animal Hospital to anyone who is seeking specialised help. Thank you for all your help and kindness.

Isobelle A Posted on Google 2 years ago

Fantastic experience: Very kind and compassionate, especially the Vet, Roberto. It was a particularly difficult time as my elderly guinea pig suddenly became very unwell, she was eight years and two months, a remarkable age. As the local branch did not have a vet in attendance on the Saturday morning, l drove her straight to Pride Park. A quiet room and a hot drink were provided as l said my final goodbye, Daisy was treated with total kindness. Over the years l have said goodbye to several pets here, consistently empathic and caring. Thank you.

Fantastic experience: Had to take our old boy in recently for a 24 hour hospitalisation spell at Pride. Very caring and professional staff. Without their monitoring and care we would have potentially lost him due to a bad infection and high temperature, so thank you all for taking such good care of him.

Stephen Gilbey Posted on Google 2 years ago

Negative experience: Warning to small animal owners exotic pet owners like Rabbits - Do not risk life of your loved with with this practice. This used to be a great vets, but they keep losing specialist staff and no longer have the skilled staff to manage exotic pet issues. They were trusted with the care of two of my exotic pets and both died to hospital care negligence and lack of access to knowledgeable staff. Both consulting vets called me to personally apologise for the failings in care,. leading to loss of life, but this provides little comfort when your loved ones have died and suffered due to ignorance and negligence. It such a shame when a practice loses it's talented specialists and worse when they won't engage to discuss the problems. There are very few exotic vets in the area, but do some Google searches and you'll find there are a couple of true experts you can contact for support. Don't risk the life of your loved one with Pride, look for a specialist small animal/exotic vet with a good history, avoid Pride vets and avoid losing your loved ones to inexperienced care.
