Positive experience: Took my cat yesterday as shes been poorly. Usually go to wymondham but it was urgent. The vet was lovely and another light haired receptionist. We had to put our baby to sleep. On arrival the dark haired receptionist was one of the most rude, unfriendly people ive had the displeasure of hearing. She spoke to my partner like ☆☆☆t. We were already struggling as worried for our cat. Luckily afterwards I didnt have to speak to her. The vet was respectful. To the owners/ share holders...give your receptionists training in emotional intelligence and kindness. They represent you at the front door and frankly that woman is not helping you!

Positive experience: Overall, most of the vets I encountered were good, but unfortunately they tend not to discuss the prices of medication. At the previous surgery I used to go to with my dog, I was always asked which option I preferred: getting a prescription and buying the medicine elsewhere for a lower price, or buying it directly from them for a higher price. We would usually check prices and calculate the difference. Here, I was given eye drops for £35 that actually cost less than £10 without any prescription. One vet was in a rush and didn’t ask me about or explain the available options. Another vet I saw later also simply suggested adding the drops to the bill. The first time, I didn’t double-check and went ahead with it — I know that’s partly on me — but I’m used to being informed about prices. Vet surgeries in the UK are extremely expensive, so I’m also used to vets being mindful of costs and trying not to overcharge clients. Unfortunately, I didn’t have that experience here with some vets. I should say that the first vet I saw for a different issue was wonderful and very considerate of costs, but I was disappointed with some of the other visits.

Fantastic experience: My cats managed to break into the snacks and ate some cookies, I rang the vets and Emma answered straight away (midday on a Saturday) and couldn’t have been more helpful. She wasn’t judgemental or patronising and every silly question I had she popped me on hold to check with the vet which I really appreciated. Managed to supply them some charcoal and instructions straight away and really calmed my anxiety. I also spoke to man when I got there who I presume is the vet and he was equally kind and patient. My first vet experience and im super happy we chose this vet!

Negative experience: I’ll start this review by saying the vet we saw was very helpful and made our very anxious cat feel as comfortable and assured as he could in the appointment. However I’m leaving 2 stars because of the treatment we received at the reception following said appointment. Our bill came to a staggering amount considering we were leaving with one painkiller and asked the receptionist to detail what the bill was for exactly, (we thought maybe they had accidentally added the fee for an upcoming test, when the vet had said we wouldn’t have to pay for this until the sample was dropped off) to which she sharply snapped at us with dismissal saying it WAS correct, before pushing the card reader towards us- and this is the part I felt was grossly unprofessional and offensive- “you’ll have to stay in tonight.” She took our shock and unease about the over inflated bill we had just received and threw it back in our face with judgement and jest. I am writing this review in hope that it gets back to that receptionist so she thinks twice before making further cutting throw away comments like the one we received without knowing that persons circumstances or hardships they may be facing.

Negative experience: Twice I took my dog here for minor cuts in her foot, both times, without even really examining the foot, and after only 5 mins, 2 different female vets suggested my dog be sedated and bought into the vets for an entire day while waiting to be operated on. (For what essentially was a splinter) I politely declined and said I’ll just take the antibiotics please, both times it was absolutely fine and no surgery or further treatment was needed and I’m really pleased I pushed back. They seem to make you panic and go for the most expensive traumatic(for your pet) option, I’m good at pushing back and using my common sense vs their need to make money at your pets expense, but some, like the elderly I imagine just go with whatever the vet says without questioning. I got a 2nd opinion at Three rivers vets Hall rd, which I’ve joined now and it was like night and day the experience. (It was suggested there was a grass seed in her paw, which seemed to me a complete guess by the vet at Chappelfield cause she didn’t even examine her foot, just went straight to anaesthetic, my dog is 11 and I thought it’s risky to sedate a pet at any time so quite concerning that’s their go to solution off the bat. At 3 rivers the vet took time to try to bond with my dog first and then thoroughly examined the paw, said it looked fine and was healing well, had a in depth chat about scar tissue and general health , he listened to her lungs and heart etc (none of which Chappelfield did. I urge anyone unsure with their treatment to get a second opinion and to question what’s really in your pets best interest, Vs the big chain vets and their profit margins.

Negative experience: Please don't use this place if you love your pet. Never seen the same vet twice, they missed really obvious symptoms on all 3 of my cats. Eventually had enough so now moved all of them. A couple of months in, my new vet pushed me to get a scan on my oldest cat and we find out she has pancreatic cancer. They only pushed for a scan due to seeing the same symptoms which my old vet ignored. Avoid.

Fantastic experience: I have noticed that there have been many new improvements over the last few months and the results are amazing. Constant communication regarding appointments and any treatment due. An online ordering system for repeat prescriptions are just some of them. Negative experience: Money before care Took our cat here for lump on his neck... charged us just over 300 pounds for test.... one week later they don't know what's wrong with him!!!.... got to take him back in two weeks so they can get even more money out of us for nothing... would definitely not recommend this vets.... all about money and not really care about our pets.... we both have learning disabilities which don't help .... so seen us coming... they know your going to pay whatever they say and obviously take advantage of that....

Fantastic experience: I feel in better place to write this review now. Our Frug sadly succumbed to IVDD at 3 and a half, she had a bad bout of it at 2 and Tom was her vet throughout this process. I always liked Tom because he spoke with compassion and wasn't bothered about anything other than Dottie's wellbeing. He was very firm with us about how to manage the condition. Sadly, the progress of the IVDD got worse after a reoccurrence and left her beyond help and Tom had to tell us it was time to say goodbye as she was suffering. It couldn't have been any other vet in that moment, but I knew Tom wanted what was best for Dottie. He was so compassionate throughout the process, gave us our time to say goodbye and made everyone as comfortable and they could be. Tom, you are a wonderful vet, and I will never forget how good you were to my sweet girl. Thank you.

Positive experience: My cat is a complete stress-head when it comes to going to the vet, but the student veterinary nurse who gave her a health check today and give her a wormer managed to keep her relatively calm. (The amount of dogs in the waiting room didn't help matters though!)

Fantastic experience: I spoke with a lovely lady yesterday morning when I became concerned for my clients elderly cat that wasn't himself. She was very helpful over the phone and happily made an appointment for late afternoon for the cat to be seen, whilst understanding that this is a clients cat who is away. When I arrived for the appointment, the vet nurse was beyond incredible! I really could not thank her enough for her professionalism, her kindness and sympathy for the poor owners she spoke too on the phone, to sadly tell them that it was time to say goodbye to their beautiful boy of 16yrs. I could see the vet nurse was holding back tears to try to be professional, but it just shows how much they really do care here and it must be extremely difficult to have to deliver such sad news to owners. I did feel disheartened that the poor owners couldn't be there for his final moments and could hear how devastated they were on the phone, but also felt comfort in knowing the amazing team & vet nurses would have given the sweet boy a lot of love, and be there for him whilst he drew his last breath. ❤️

Fantastic experience: I have used this vet for years and will always recommend them. Today I had to make the difficult decision to let my rat, Olive, go, and while they don't usually see rats, they very kindly agreed to do this as I couldn't get to my usual exotic vets. I didn't get the name of the vet I saw but he was so kind and respectful, and gave me the reassurance I needed, so I want to thank him and the rest of the team for making a terrible day a little lighter.

Fantastic experience: We've been taking our handsome rescue cat Ben here for a couple of years now and the staff are always courteous and the care and attention given to Ben is of the highest quality. They get busy but I don't think we have ever waited more than 10 or 15 mins. They are also good value, compared to other vets locally. They have branches in Wymondham, Long Stratton, Taverham, and elsewhere, as well as a 24-hour helpline, which has reassured us once or twice. Recommended.

Negative experience: Terrible, I had to report them and currently being investigated. If you want your pet to stay alive don't take it to Chapelfeild vet in Norwich. 1. They have no idea what they are doing 2. They dont make customers aware of charges as per UK law 3. They wrongly diagnose 4. They put small kittens on medication that they dont require 5. They charge for follow up appointment 6. They lie about charges 7. They can cause harm to your pet and then tell you they dont have CCTV at the back 8. They will offer free of charge blood test and then chase you for money, please be aware they dont record their calls 9. They take advantage on vulnerable customers Absolutely the worst vet ever. Definitely recommend Taverham Vet instead, they actually know what they are doing

Negative experience: We have been using this vets for approx 26 years and never experienced any issues up until it was taken over in 2018 by Independent Vet Care and Chantelle left. Since then the service we have received has gone downhill. I have found one particular receptionist to be unaccommodating in regards to payment options and rude and feel since the takeover they have become more money orientated rather than focused on pet welfare. I have since changed to a new vets and received a much better service.

Negative experience: So poor service. I want to give minus stars if I can. I booked my cat to get a EHC. we even sent the form to them to have a look and be ready. The vet wasn’t ready and doesn’t have an access to the government system. We needed to fly next day, but because the vet couldn’t do it at the appointment time, she asked us to come back next day even before they open the surgery. I was extremely worried that I don’t have any contact details in there anyone. So if she just doesn’t come at 8. I would have to just wait outside as surgery is not opened until 9am. It was just too risky for the international travel. Because this vet is so disorganised, we needed to cancel dinner plan with family in our the last day in the Uk and wait to get the certificate until 9pm and go and collect it. Literally since 4pm we couldn’t do much in our last day and it is all ruined by this vet. So I’ve been back and forth 3 times in a day to get it done. I cannot recommend this vet at all. So disappointing. Don’t trust them.

Negative experience: All about the money here not really there for the animal rang four times for branch manager as got told she’d ring that day as she comes in at 9:30am as needing a payment plan because who the hell has £2,000 just laying in their pocket so a hour before closing (7pm) we rang to be told I’ll get her to ring tomorrow as she’s not in they also refused my pet health club for medication even though the out of hours didn’t charge me for the same medication because I had pet health club this place has been going downhill for years especially when my partner noticed on one of their signs to put a cat down it will cost you a whopping £500 just to kill ya cat just goes to show where their heart is compared to the other branch up nr5 way (update) branch manager finally rang us after contacting 5-6 times we was told the procedure was £2,000 but talking to the manager the procedure is only £1,000-£1,100 so god knows where the other nurse got its £2,000 from so being misinformed about the price didn’t help the matter but thankfully now we have been approved for a payment plan to treat my cat took longer to get things sorted because being messed around but hopefully now it’s sorted and my cat can get the medical care and recovery he deserves and needs

Fantastic experience: We have had to come here for a pet EU travel certificate, something our local branch doesn’t do and can only be booked for certain times of the week so don’t expect to just be able to wander in for this. Also had an appointment for a rabies jab and had a good experience. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Would recommend.

Negative experience: Stay away! For over a year of multiple visits, I was lead to believe there's nothing wrong with my cat as he in fact developed hcm&pulmonary edema and ultimately died from heart&kidney failure. The bloodwork didn't show the issue nor my very frequent visits and with their petplan's checkup. I followed up but they never checked properly.

Negative experience: I recently attended the surgery with one of animals a week ago and I was shocked to hear one of the receptionist’s which I believe her name was Karen i was shocked to hear how she spoke to clients on the phone totally rude and unprofessional I have been coming to your surgery for years and never have had a issue with the old staff as they show great professionalism of how they great people and provide a good service to them and give them time .. also I over heard Karen slating over members of your old staff .. I highly suggest this lady has further training as she stick out like a sore thumb I am in total disbelief as I’ve been told she is head of reception by other people that attend the practise and they have great concerns also . In my opinion this looks like that this is the best job she has ever had and by the looks of it the power has gone straight to her head. Bully. Rude. Unprofessional. Full training needed!!

Negative experience: A pug continuously bleeding, vet didn't even test blood to find out why. But went ahead with surgery (taking over a £1000 pounds) pug put to sleep by taverham night vets, who did do tests to find he was extremely ill.
