Negative experience: Excellent service. Unfortunate that they felt the need to charge £210 for a consultation which took less than a minute on a dog they were about to put down. Their masks must have been in the wash.

Dear Mr Kimbley, I'm sorry you had to visit us for such a sad reason. I have checked your invoice and the extra fee was the out of hours surcharge because your own vets were closed at the weekend. We do keep a large veterinary and support team on site 24 hours a day to manage urgent and emergency cases. This is an expensive service for us to maintain which is why these surcharges are applied. I would hope you were made aware of this when you phoned. If this was not the case please contact us at the surgery.

Positive experience: The vet was lovely but the cost has left me in shock. £37 to have your dogs claws clipped! How can they justify that??!! We were in and out in 10 minutes. Vets prices are ridiculous these days and they get away with it because we love our pets. Written by a very unhappy customer…

We book all our routine nail clipping appointments to allow 15minutes because although some dogs and cats are easy to clip and may take less time, there are plenty that are difficult and need the full appointment (as well as sometimes 2 or 3 members of staff). Claw clipping may seem a simple procedure and certainly it can be however it can also be very difficult and require all the experience of our veterinary team to get the claws clipped safely while minimising the stress for pet. For those animals that require regular trimming we would recommend the health plans which cover all the routine health care such as vaccinations, health checks, claw clipping and many other things and these provide great value. The PHC plus health plan also covers all consults so for chronic health conditions owners can bring their pets in for check ups as often as they like. If you ever want to discuss the costs of treatment and how to make these more affordable our reception team will always be happy to try and help.

Fantastic experience: On behalf of Growler the stray black Moggy and myself, I can't tell you much I appreciated the calm and compassion help, advice and treatment we were given by the whole team from the receptionists, to the nurses and a wonderful young vet, named James. Nothing could have been better, except the sad outcome. Every step of the way was so clearly and obviously compassionately explained, right to Growler's last moment. Negative experience: Beware any vets (veterinarian nurse) that starts with "do you have insurance". In summary, £1600 for one weeks worth of antibiotics!!!!!! First, and most definitely the last time I will ever use them. I was left feeling ashamed of myself for being taken advantage of like that! Update..... Watch BBC Panorama regarding vets!

Negative experience: What a complete con could I please have some fle .worm and tick pills for all 3 yes no problem you'll get a text . Thanks. 5 min later Because all 3 of your dogs have not been seen in the last 12 months you'll have to pop them in to see the vet .WHY not been in very fit and healthy no need. Not a dentist are you? I am sorry to read your comments and hear of your frustrations. I understand that you have spoken with some of our team members, who have explained that your three pets require a physical examination before we are able to prescribe prescription only (POM-V) anti-parasitic medication.

Most high-quality flea, worm, and tick preventatives are classified as POM-V (Prescription Only Medication – Veterinarian). By law, under the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) guidelines, a vet can only prescribe these if the animal has been physically examined recently (usually within the last 12 months) and is considered 'under our care.' Following a clinical exam the prescription only antiparasitic medication (POM-V) can be dispensed at appropriate time intervals until the next re-examination is required.

We never want our clients to feel 'ripped off.' Our goal is always to provide the best care possible while staying within the laws of our profession. Whenever possible we will try and perform these checks as part of our patients' annual vaccinations or routine health checks but as we haven't seen your pets for these appointments a consultation is required. We do offer a Pet Health Club which can help spread the cost of preventative care and written prescriptions which can help with the cost of medications.

We ask that all communications with our staff remain respectful, as they are simply following the legal protocols required within our profession.

Fantastic experience: I visited today with our poorly cat, he was unwell and lethargic, obviously we were worried about him. From the first phone call to leaving the surgery all members of staff have been comforting and so friendly I have been quite taken back from the exception customer service. I sat and waited for over an hour in the waiting room, listening to the reception team, they all went above and beyond with everyone that visited during that busy time. Keep up the positive team work you are all doing a fantastic job!

Fantastic experience: Amazing out of hours vets. Rushed my dog there at nighttime and she needed an overnight stay. They're so calm, sympathetic and lay everything out so clearly. So clear they care about doing right by both pet and owner rather than adding £ signs unnecessarily.

Fantastic experience: Had an appointment with Becca to have my rabbits nails trimmed, one is a rescue and neither of them enjoy being handled. She took so much time and was so calming and patient with them and showed so much compassion and made it an easy experience for us. Fantastic experience: I just want to say how polite and helpful the out of hrs vet was I phoned because my dog had eaten about 15bits of milk choclate from my sons advent calendar they asked his weight age etc if has health problems on any medication they calculated roughly how much he would of consumed for his weight and said he should be with in the safe limit but to keep an eye on him and what to look for they could very easily of said bring him in he needs treatment just to get me to pay luckily they didn't as I would not of had enough money to do so so would highly recommend this vet as I don't think they would get you in unessarily were polite and helpful and put my mind at ease over it also a couple of years ago I took an injured hedgehog in which they treated and looked after overnight till they could find a rescue space for it and obviously didn't charge me as it was wildlife so I think they are a pretty good vets so would definitely recommend them

Fantastic experience: Lovely, and friendly veterinary practice. We sadly found a very injured hedgehog in our garden, but with it being late afternoon on a Saturday, no rescue centres or vets near us were open. A local hedgehog rescue centre recommended Taverham vets, and after a quick call the friendly lady on the phone said to bring it in. We left the hedgehog with Taverham that evening, the lady at the reception was very friendly and helpful. My husband has also used Taverham on a number of occasions in previous years and speaks highly of them.

Negative experience: My dog was unlawfully taken to this practice following an attack. The people who took her in claimed to be her owners and agreed her euthanasia. The vet at no point scanned her ( present and working) microchip, whereby they would have found that we were in fact the owners. We did not find out for many hours, by which time she was already at a pet crematorium. The vet cannot even say with certainty that it was our dog!, just a vague description of a black dog. Outrageous practices by this vet, whose response was that they don’t have time to scan chips, they don’t have to , and it was ‘probably’ our dog. Avoid them at all costs, there wasn’t a zero star option. I see from their response that they misrepresent things. We had no ‘relationship’ with the people who took our dog to this practice. They run a kennel with which she was boarded. The first time we had used them, never met them before. I met one woman just to drop off our dog, another man on the doorstep to collect her bed and food. No relationship, no breakdown, a simple business transaction. I believed that these people were honest and lawful and running a legal business, turns out they were not. I also believed, as I’m sure many do, that the dogs microchip would serve to link her to us as owners at such a time, clearly it does not. I’m sorry that it’s so difficult to search the databases, maybe then professionals in the industry should champion the need for change rather than just keep taking our fees. A legal case against those who let down our dog is underway, after which we will run a press, media and TV campaign to raise awareness of the system as it stands, and how it leaves our pets vulnerable in such circumstances. The vets in this case were happy to take their fee from people who were acting against the law, but are not prepared to stand up and ask for change in the system.

Dear Mr. Hubble,

We are truly sorry for your loss and understand how distressing and painful this situation has been. Your pet was brought to us by an individual who falsely identified himself as your pet's owner and who, we understand from your own account, had been entrusted with her care and decision-making in your absence whilst on holiday. We understand your relationship with this individual has since broken down after you subsequently learnt of some historic concerns with their kennelling facilities. Sadly, your pet had suffered catastrophic injuries to her upper airway that were not compatible with survival. After discussing her prognosis and potential options, the individual gave consent for euthanasia, a decision made entirely in her interests, and then settled the associated costs of emergency stabilisation and diagnostics in full. At no point were any 'red flags’ raised that would cause our team to question her ownership.

While we understand your concerns about microchip scanning, it is not a routine requirement for owned pets being presented by the purported keeper. Microchips legally prove keepership, not ownership, and vets do not have legal jurisdiction to enforce ownership disputes. Verifying the microchip would require cross-checking multiple databases, and to be certain of identity, it would need to be checked against photographic ID, which is not a practical requirement for emergency clients. Our team acted with urgency to relieve suffering based on the information presented. You have also acknowledged this was an appropriate outcome for your pet in the circumstances and, whilst we are very sorry there was a several hour delay in the individual reporting to you what had happed that morning, we cannot be held responsible for someone else's misrepresentation.

Please know that we are truly sorry for the pain and uncertainty you have experienced during this tragic event. Our team acted in good faith with the information available at the time and prioritised your pet's welfare throughout. We have complied with all requested correspondence and have been honest with you regarding the events of that morning. We have yet to received a reply to our latest correspondence with you some weeks ago. As communicated to you previously in this correspondence, please do not hesitate to contact us if you wish to discuss this further or have any further questions. We remain available to support you in any way we can.

Fantastic experience: As a couple on holiday it can be worrying when your pet develops a problem. However Taverham Vets provided us with a first class service, we had to leave our puppy with them whilst tests were done. When she was returned to us it was clear that the team had taken the best of care of her and diagnosed her problem. I could not ask anymore of them for the way we were looked after and I am sure if our puppy could talk she would echo my comments. Many thanks to all the staff and teams who saw us.

Fantastic experience: Most amazing compassionate friendly people ive met regarding my pets . I lost my labrador at 15 and my cat at 18 and these guys have been there every step. My current dog decided to go missing twice , and because hes chipped these guys where on the phone at midnight , concerned about my missing pet. Fantastic experience: I'm not sure I've ever experienced such kindness, care and compassion. Came to Taverham night vets on the weekend 9th/10th Aug. Not our normal vets, but it is the out of hours vet for our local practice. I was seen straight away and the vet was wonderful, kind, listened and showed care. (Mattia? Didn't catch his name as too stressed). Teddy had ingested something that was making her sick. The receptionist (Martine?) .such a kind lady. The following evening picked Teddy up, the vet took his time to talk through her results. On top of a really stressful time, our car also broke down outside the vets! Whilst waiting to be recovered we were offered a room to wait if we needed, a cup of tea, water and snacks for our other dog. Lucinda? ( receptionist) was wonderful, trying to call a taxi for us and even allowed us to leave our car key with them for recovery the following morning as we live an hour away. This practice went above and beyond anything that could be expected. The care that we all received was incredible..nothing was too much trouble. I may add that Teddy has other health conditions which they made sure she had her usual medication for this. I hope to never have to use this service again as it would mean a furry friend is poorly or injured, however if I did I am reassured that they will receive the best possible care and attention. Keep up the wonderful work and thank you to all involved in Teddy's overnight stay.

Fantastic experience: Unfortunately had to visit here a couple of weeks back when our puppy got a grass seed stuck in his ear. Despite it being a Sunday and not having an appointment, we were seen in good time and the vet (Henry I think) was great. Managed to extract the seed without sedation and our dog was fixed!! Like all vets, it's not cheap - but really good service from people who clearly love animals and that makes all the difference.

Fantastic experience: Our first time using these vets, and we went here for a nighttime emergency after our spring, Scampi, ate something naughty. Both staff members were amazing, and so reassuring when I was clearly nervous. Great service and a wonderful vets! Thank you❤️

Fantastic experience: I am always happy with the service I get but yesterday the service was brilliant. I called the vets in the afternoon after a trip to the beach and my dog showing signs that she wants well. They offered me a sit and wait appointment and I was seen very quickly. All costs were explained to me before any treatments and all staff were kind and sympathetic. I always find it a very friendly practice but today it was even more so.

Fantastic experience: My JRT, Bobby, came in for an emergency visit in the early hours due to seizure like events, vomiting and bad dehydration. They did a wonderful job looking after him in the emergency and we felt immediately that Bobby was in the right hands! He's now at DWR and they believe he might be experiencing paroxysmal dyskinesia onset by gluten or some other GI interaction, and we are confident and hopeful that he will make a good recovery. There was a bit of an issue with them not wanting to make a direct claim on our pet insurance, as they historically haven't had the best time with ManyPets. I can empathise with this, because a few years ago they took 4 months to pay one of the claims I had made, which wasn't reasonable. Because of this, we had to pay in full, which isn't easy, and we were dreading the requirement to make an indirect claim at such a stressful time. To the credit of Taverham Vets and their insurance team, they have made the claim and uploaded the evidence to ManyPets on our behalf, which has reduced some of the stress from ourselves, and we are thankful for this. ManyPets have improved significantly from my perspective since my bad experience with them in 2023. Having the ability to direct claim is infinitely less stressful for customers, so I hope in the future, their stance may shift and allow direct claims once again. Either way, I'd like to extend heartfelt appreciation from myself, my partner, and of-course, Bobby! For both looking after him so well, and for shouldering some of the administrative burden in regards to our indirect claim.

Negative experience: If I could give this vets -10 stars I would. Do not take your pet here unless you want them to suffer. It’s taken me some time to write this review due to the stress and heartache this vets caused me. My 14 year old dog started having accidents in the house so I took her here numerous times. For months they gave her every test under the sun, charged me thousands of pounds and told me there was nothing wrong. I knew something was up, my dog was acting differently. She started losing her fur due to stress. I knew she wasn’t right. They finally told me she had a stone in her utiary and needed surgery, she was booked in several times and they cancelled as the only vet who could perform was out sick. They then told me there was nothing they could do and she needed to go to Cambridge for the treatment, they couldn’t help. At this point I reached out to another vets and took her to the groove in fakenham the same week. I’d had her records forwarded and walked into the new vets expecting the same issue. The vet told me it was very clear that my girl had bladder cancer and she could tell from the urine and test results Taverham had performed. And missed, for 5 months despite several of the same tests. Without even examining her, they knew from the tests Taverham had done. The new vets gave her a scan and confirmed bladder cancer the same day. Something Taverham had failed to do over 5 months and thousands of pounds. They left my dog in pain and suffering due to their negligence. I will never forgive them and think their vets should be disbarred. This isn’t the first time or pet my family have experienced the same sort of issue. The practice should be ashamed of the level of mistreatment they provide. Absolute shame on all of them. The new vet was also astounded it had been missed from Taverham. I was very lucky that I then had the best treatment for my girl, my best friend, and had another 5 months to treasure with her under the good care of the new vet. It will haunt me until my dying day that I didn’t change vets sooner and put my trust in Taverham. Every single person I bump into on walks and chat to has also had a bad experience there. Please do not take your beloved pet, if like me your best friend, there and have them suffer. If you got to the end of this long read, thank you, I just hope in some way this helps someone else and their pet. I wish I’d done more sooner.

Dear Ms Waller, I have looked into your dog's clinical notes and the last time we saw her was over 3.5 years ago.  At that stage we were investigating signs of cystitis.  There was no bladder stone mentioned at any time and we were suspicious of potential neoplasia which is why we were planning to perform an endoscopic examination of the urinary tract.  We had not confirmed the diagnosis with the previous ultrasound, there was nothing on the blood and urine tests to confirm bladder cancer, and no vet would have been able to diagnose bladder cancer simply on the test results we had.  I understand you requested referral to another vets  as our endoscopic surgeon was unwell and unable to perform the procedure on the original day booked and this is quite understandable.  As a pet owner myself I also know how stressful it is dealing with their illness or loss. It is not ok however to claim we were negligent in any way or that we would ever intend to cause an animal any unnecessary suffering.  I am immensely proud of our whole team at Taverham Vets who constantly strive to do their very best to care for every owned pet, every stray animal and all the frequent wildlife that is brought to us.  Often health issues are complex and communicating these can be challenging. As a client, if you are ever unhappy we are always here to talk to and we will try and put things right if we possibly can. Fantastic experience: After waiting all afternoon for a Norfolk Wildlife charity to reply to my messages instead of just reading them, I was kindly guided by Phoenix Bird Of Prey Rescue to bring my blackbird to Taverham Vets. Taverham vets' receptionist was really kind and admitted the lil' bird straight away. I am really grateful as my bird had been waiting all afternoon. Once back home, I received, after more than 4 hours wait, a 2 line message from the charity I had originally contacted telling me to drop the bird at an address. To read my messages and make me wait over 4 hours to eventually give me an address was ridiculous. I wish I had known about Taverham vets sooner and saved my blackbird the distress of being cooped up in a box all afternoon. Thank you so much to Taverham Vets for being quick to take the lil' bird in so quickly and for the kind welcome given to me by their receptionist.

Fantastic experience: As a new client I'm extremely impressed with the friendly, caring staff at Taverham vets. Very professional, very well informed about treatment and costs. You get such great vibes when your there, great atmosphere and you know your furry friend is in very safe hands. Recently had my dog Herbie stay in over the weekend and the staff went above and beyond caring for his needs and is now back home fully recovered from his ordeal, so a huge thank you to all the staff and a thank you Woof! from herbie too. Fantastic experience: They managed to fit me in with an emergancy appointment, reassured me eveything would be ok. Considering the complexity of the injury they managed to keep me calm. They were very informative about procedures and prices. It is a fantastic vetinary practice that I would highly recommend. The insurance team and receptionists were also fantastic. Fantastic experience: My cat sadly passed away, had to take him overnight as an emergency. The two vets on duty were so lovely and understanding. The lady on reception, when I returned to pick up the ashes, was really compassionate. Would highly recommend Taverham Vets.

Fantastic experience: We went for very sad reasons with our cat. It was around 11pm and the charges were astronomical, however the staff were very empathetic and did all they could. Although it's cost over £700 for 1 20 minute visit and we left without our beloved cat we understand this was never going to be inexpensive. Thanks to the kind staff there.

Fantastic experience: My dog, Ivy, attended the practice for an operation last week. Ivy is a generally healthy dog so hasn’t needed to attend a veterinary practice aside from needing vaccinations and was therefore quite distressed and aggressive due to being in an environment she wasn’t used to. The staff at Taverham vets were extremely patient, kind and understanding. She wasn’t an easy dog to handle but the team did everything they could to make sure that Ivy was comfortable, cared for and the operation was a success. She is now recovering well, and back to her usual temperament. Thank you to all of the team that dealt with her, I would highly recommend this practice.

Negative experience: Sadly not what it was. Our cat Oreo has been sneezing blood and although he has been checked a week there has been no improvement. He is now showing signs of becoming fed up or possibly unwell, so as he is insured to £7000 with a tiny excess. I thought we could arrange next steps. I was wrong. Despite a belief this could be something inhaled and is lodged up his nose and this is only a guess from the vet, the next step would be a camera up the nose to investigate, but they want to do a full CT scan which at this stage maybe a little excessive for what it could be. However the work that they have suggested is around £3000, but the vets are refusing to deal with my insurance company and I quote “ your insurance company are difficult to get hold of should we have questions or queries “ So they will not treat him unless I pay in full, in less than a week. When did they become so heartless ? So cruel? I have raised a complaint and I pray to God that nothing happens to my cat and so should the vets. This is why people have insurance, for emergencies, like this. People should have faith in the vets that a) that pets and owners will be treated fairly b) whilst they heavily promote the need for pet insurance they need to drop this ridiculous process simply because admin staff cannot be bothered, to do the role for which they are paid. Common decency and common sense should prevail here and not greed !

Fantastic experience: Fantastic and highly professional team of caring vets, nurses and admin staff. I like that they are a hospital as our cat had the quick care he needed when diagnosed with pneumonia last year. I'm sure that these facilities and the great veterinary care saved his life. I was also treated with so much compassion when we had to euthanise our beloved dog early this year, and they also gladly accepted an injured bird from us at no cost a few weeks back. Highly recommended if you're in the Norwich area!

Negative experience: We visited the out of hours emergency vet at the Taverham hospital, for our dear little dog, Dolly. She had her first seizure late at night and continued to have them every hour thereafter. We called Taverham vets for help and we was told to take her straight there of which we did. It was Approximately 2.30am when we arrived and we showed the vet on duty, a video of Dolly having a violent seizure and the vet confirmed that Dolly was unconscious in the video. The vet took Dolly away for Approximately one minute then advised us to take her to our vets the following morning for a blood test as it will be cheaper and sent us on our way. Dolly continued her seizures all through the night, she was exhausted, we were exhausted, she had lost all control of her bladder and bowel movement. The following morning we contacted the emergency line at Dolly's regular vets and she was seen instantly and given the appropriate medication to save her life. As a result of not being given essential medication and care at Taverham vets, Dolly has some brain damage and suffered hearing loss. This could of been avoided. We understand that it was in the middle of the night when we visited with Dolly but, the care was not there, the vet had a job to help our beloved Dolly and she failed her. We was charged over £300 for nothing mind you.

At your appointment, the vet discussed the option of immediate investigations, including blood tests and a scan, to help determine the underlying cause of Dolly’s seizures. As Dolly was stable and not actively seizuring at the time of examination, you were also given the option to take her home under close monitoring, with clear guidance to return if her condition worsened.

You were provided with medication to manage potential further seizures and advised that, if Dolly remained stable overnight, you should visit your usual vet in the morning for further investigation.

Negative experience: Our elderly Jack Russell had a sudden life-threatening emergency and Taverham was the on-call night vet. The team were waiting for us when we arrived and took him straight through for treatment. Unfortunately there was nothing they could do to save our beautiful boy and sadly we had to have him put to sleep. The veterinary staff were very kind and compassionate however we were quite upset about the urgency for us to pay quite a substantial sum of money straight afterwards. The receptionist said glibly “Now for the worst bit… the bill!” We found this comment extremely inappropriate because actually the worst thing was that we weren’t taking our beloved pet home! I can’t fault the staff who treated our dog at all but I feel some training should be given to the person who was taking our money (the equivalent of two weeks’ wages for me) because it just made the whole experience far more traumatic than it already was.

Negative experience: Where do we start, how about Abhorrent!! My Bulldog went into a surprise unexpected natural labour at 11pm, (this was not planned), by 2am she was showing signs of distress, by 3am I was on the phone to taverham emergency vets service, arrived at taverham vets by 4am with an exhausted, in pain, struggling dog!! Being told instantly its £275 to talk "that ok with you", to which I agreed, of course. Then I'm told she needs a scan, no price, just "scan" again in a panicked state as an owner you agree and hope they get a move on given my dogs distress. I'm ushered into a room at this point, at 4am with the A/C on full and -3oC outside, this wasent exactly a comforting place to sit an owner, 40mins later the vet comes in, tells me the scan shows slow heart rates for the pups, to which I ask what scan did you do, I'm told ultrasound, so I ask "ok so how many pups are in there"? I'm told, ohhh we don't know that information, just that there's heartbeats, hmmm ok so why do an ultrasound scan?? Did they even do a scan?? Hmmm, I'm an NHS Nurse myself, it's pointless carrying out an ultrasound unless you're looking for life and how many etc, at this point I'm told it's cost me £110 to "hear heartbeats"... ridiculous!! I'm asking for a quote now, how much do you need to save my dog's life etc, I'm told £2500, (money that I just don't have right now), it's 5am at this point all friends & family are in bed, I'm frantically calling around everyone i know, getting no responses of course, it's early hours! I did offer £500 to get my dog pain relief, meds, or to get things started etc, but NO this wasent listened too and I was glared at being told its £2500, so I'll leave you to make calls and out the vet went from the room. They left me & my very distressed dog sat in this room for a further 3hrs trying to raise the money, they just left her next to me on the floor, pushing, contracting, distressed beyond belief, they took no action to help her at all once they knew i didnt have the money at the ready. 7am - Vet comes back in and then tells me "you have another option" you can sign your dog and any pups there may be over to some charity they promote and this charity will cover the cost of the surgery "BUT" This charity will then take my dog & pups Never to be seen again!!! ....EXCUSE ME !!!!!! - This is not an option, this is persecution and an insult to any owner at best - I was fuming at this point, no offer of payment plan, no offer of multiple payments, nothing! It wasent until 8am I managed to raise the funds for my dogs surgery, and I gave the go ahead immediately, at this point I'm frantically trying to track down a vet or nurse to help, they'd all dispursed somewhere else in the clinic and given the fact it had been so long and I was initially told they were ready to start the surgery immediately you'd think they'd be on stand by, I then had to sign my life away and complete forms at this point taking a further 20mins , and now the form reads £2500-£3000, not the stipulated £2500 they so desperately insisted on to start with, in tears I signed regardless, i'd had enough, I went to the desk and paid £1500 deposit which was their requirements, it wasent explained to me that only a deposit was needed to get on with things all those hours ago, had they of explained this it maybe wouldn't have taken all these hours to move forward!!! I was then told as I handed back my dog to them for surgery, that as it has now been so many hours of the dog in distress they don't expect a positive outcome, What ever happened to saving lives coming first, it was all about the money!! It's disgusting treatment, at this point I had been crying for hours upon hours, absolutely exhausted, beside myself with guilt and worry for not having the available funds immediately, and they just DID NOT CARE!!!! it comes down to - if you can't pay - they won't help save your pets life. How disgusting . IF SAVING LIVES DOESN'T COME BEFORE WORKING OUT HOW IT'LL BE PAID FOR - THEN WHY ARE THESE PEOPLE EVEN VETS!!!

Fantastic experience: We brought our dog, Ralphie, for a cardiology consultation here after a referral for a heart murmur from our vet. We can only express our thanks to the wonderful team at Taverham vets, who we found to be extremely professional and friendly. Tom Robertson, the vet, who performed the ultrasound was wonderful, kind, caring and very informative. He put our, often anxious and nervous dog, at total ease and and he was completely relaxed throughout the whole procedure. We would 100% recommend Taverham Vets to anybody seeking treatment for their animals at this practice.

Fantastic experience: Bit of a complicated case this one, but we took a local gentleman’s dog up late into the evening after contacting the surgery, who arranged to see her at very short notice. Bella means the world to this man, who isn’t in the best place right now, and it doesn’t bear thinking about if he lost her. We were greeted with the most amazing staff who were so kind and compassionate and they tended to Bella straight away. Whilst it wasn’t possible to give an exact diagnosis at the time, they stabilised her, gave her anti-sickness drugs and painkillers to make her comfortable until she could get to our local surgery the following day to get further scans and a subsequent operation. They did explain to us, that she wasn’t well and it was touch and go whether she would even make it through the night. It turns out Bella had pyometra (an infection of the womb) and the operation was successful (also thanks to our local vets, who are as equally amazing). I really do believe that Bella wouldn’t have made it through that night, if it wasn’t for them. As it stands, it’s only a few days on, but Bella is showing constant signs of improvement, and we’re hopeful she will get back to full health some time in the near future. Thank you again to everyone involved, we really do appreciate what you do.

Fantastic experience: Very friendly staff from start to finish. My boy had his testicles out, and he seems quite content on arrival home, and extremely tired! We were very impressed by their professionalism. Thank you for making Harvey comfortable and for loving him all day.

Fantastic experience: Amazing visit to Taverham vets today. 3 dogs had their yearly injections and Henry the VET was just brilliant with them. My Westie usually nervous with vets absolutely loved him. He did a thorough check too. Really appreciated.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic practice with wonderful surgeons, vets, nurses and admin staff! They saved my dog's life after a terrible attack. My dog was hospitalised and he received the best care. When I visited him, I saw how very well looked after he was. Everyone has been very kind to us, they did everything to save my dog's life and are providing continuous support to us. Thank you for everything!

Fantastic experience: Lewis is a wonderful vet! He’s kind, compassionate & really takes the time to listen & explain. Can’t recommend him highly enough. He’s a credit to the profession & the practice. The reception team are lovely too - they couldn’t give enough love or fuss to my cat.

Fantastic experience: Our dog ran off and was picked up and dropped off at taverham vets. All the staff couldn’t be more helpful and lovely. Sammy (our dog) was in great hands and was checked over by the vets free of charge.Not sure he wanted to leave in the end as he was loving the attention! Thanks a lot to everyone at Taverham vets!

Fantastic experience: We visited out of hours as our elderly hamster was ready to go. The lady at reception and the vet that we saw were absolutely lovely and took brilliant care of him through his final minutes. They were so sweet and respectful and didn't charge us for the brief time we were there either. Brilliant out of hours service and would go straight back there if we needed them in the future.

I am seriously impressed and only wish I’d registered here sooner. Friendly and knowledgeable staff, brilliant service, fair and transparent pricing. Everything a vet should be and more.

Fantastic experience: I searched much of Norfolk for a veterinary practice that makes me feel reassured the three Persian cats will get good care, and this search brought me to Taverham Vets even though it's nearly 1.5 hours' drive away. It was a difficult exercise to find a good vet. One large vet hospital nearest to us refused to access the prior practices' records, something I have never known before. Another practice said they did not know how to remove a contact lens from one of the cats. And many local vets are very small practices, which means any specialist care isn't available. Taverham Vets has everything, being a hospital and very customer-centric so far. Today, I saw Jen Richardson who takes a special interest in cats, and she was gentle, quiet, and calm, which makes a huge difference to nervous pets. Last time, I saw Helen Steele, who specialises in ophthalmology, for an eye concern. She was so thorough, and extremely kind and quiet with the pet. Zoe, too, was lovely and what I found really nice about Zoe was how she admitted she was still learning and did not hesitate to call on the advice of Helen. Lovely manner, too. Very nice vets and well worth the trip across country. I also do not find this practice expensive. Tiny, Ferret and Weasel Jenkinson highly recommend this practice.

Negative experience: I had to take my cat mitzy to the vets for a check up.while there I asked the vet to give her the spot on treatment for tick and fleas.she put the treatment on her lower back then a wormer above.normally I do them 2 weeks apart.when I got home I luckily noticed she was licking the treatment off,and gagging. It was put in an area where she could reach.rang and explained what had happened, wanted to charge me £205 plus treatment. Not my fault this happened, bad practice. Shame on you taverham vets more worried about your bulging pockets than animal welfare. I have been with you from the day you started. Cat has got a collar (free)and I have to monitor her when I took her back.greed greed greed. Told them you can look at the cat.but not paying.

Fantastic experience: Most amazing vet hospital practice from start. Reception and office staff so helpful and kind, vets and nurses so, skilled and caring, go way and above what they need to do, truly care. The knowledge throughout the practice is first class. They have looked after 5 of our golden retrievers over a period of around 20 years. We could not ask for more, always there for our boys and us. Nothing is too much trouble, same applies to the Longwater practice staff, along with hydrotherapy and physio.

Negative experience: Utterly disappointed by the management of the practice and the lack of compassion and responsiveness to helpful feedback on their methods of communicating with their customers particularly following traumatic pet bereavement. 1) Check your bills before you pay them ALWAYS with this practice! I have been overcharged with miscalculated blood tests that were already extortionately expensive and was met with a surely response from the receptionist taking payment at the time and huffiness when I asked for an itemised bills because the cost was so high. They also attempted to overcharge me in triplicate for a private prescription at a later date without discussing the costs with me beforehand and when challenged they claimed that they couldn't put different medications for the exact same pet, issued at the exact same time onto the same prescription sheet- this is not a prohibited and it even states that different medications CAN go on to the same prescription on the RCVS wesbite. 2) The people involved in billing at the practice have literally NO empathy or ability to respond to helpful feedback about their communication whatsoever: After a seriously traumatic and unexpected euthenasia of a my 15 year old dog in their car park, I was told by the very kind vet to go home and to contact the practice when I felt able to to settle the bill- perfect service, thank you vet. I then received a bill a few days later, and phonecalls whilst in work and with my own patients (and unable to answer!) even before they sent their consolidance card (thereby making the sentiment of the card entirely useless!!) Each of these communications just brought back flashbacks of the horrible loss and made it even harder to make the call to the vets and pay off the bill. After receiving a seriously uncaring and offensive debt collection threat letter and writing a feedback letter asking them to kindly review how they word their letters and the impact on traumatised griveing owners, they simple sent another, personalised and even more aggressive email with absolutely no acknowledge or adaptation to how they communicated. For this uncaring, uncompassionate, money grabbing awful behaviour, I will never return to Taverham vets and will not recommend anything they can offer to anyone. For the sake of your £175 euthanisia fee you should really consider your approach to your customers! So sad.

Fantastic experience: This was the second time I had to use norwich night vets/taverham vets. And I am so happy with them. They kept me updated with texts and phone calls. They let me visit my boy. And he is now home and hopefully to be fully mended soon

Every time we’ve turned up in difficult situations they’ve always gone above and beyond. Especially saying goodbye to my Elmo I will never forget your kindness in such a heartbreaking time. Fantastic experience: Just wanted to say a big thankyou to the vets at Taverham Vets over this weekend. We had an issue with one of our dogs while in Shipdham for the weekend and the overnight vets were just fantastic in how they helped deal with our dog. They assessed, advised, treated and retreated our dog Enzo’s bleeding ear, providing clear guidance and support between 10:30pm and 3.30am. Enzo is now more like himself and will follow up with our local vets as per your guidance.. So again a big heartfelt thank you!

Negative experience: I used the practice out of hours service . I was not very happy with the service .my dog was very poorly .and needed to have bloods and a scan and operation and scan because of possible blockage .to be told I needed to pay £1000 to pay there and then .which I couldn't do .I told the vet I had pet plan insurance I was told my dog could only be treated with a sickness drug for the night .and too see my vet the next day because I couldn't prove I have pet insurance .the following day I took my dog to my vet she had emergency life saving treatment were they had too save her life because the blockage colon was about to burst . I was told because taven vets hadn't got prove I had pet plan insurance .and could pay £1000 you wouldn't treat my dog and you would let her die because you wouldn't treat her and accept my insurance cover .I wouldnt use this service ever again.

Fantastic experience: Taverham Vets very kindly took in our deceased Hamster during a bank holiday weekend whilst our usual vets were closed, and placed her into cold storage for us until we were able to organise cremation services. They cleaned her up, removed any live bugs that got to her and placed her nice and wrapped up into a lovely box, for us to take to the pet crematorium. They did all of this for us free of charge and were very compassionate. Cannot thank them enough for their help.

Fantastic experience: Have unfortunately had to come a few times over the years to the emergency night vet. Every single time everyone is so lovely and helpful, even when turning up or calling very stressed because of an accident occurring. All staff are so compassionate and caring of our various furry family members and I don't know where we'd be without them. Always regret needing to go because it's always due to an emergency but I wouldn't want to go anywhere else in those situations.

Fantastic experience: Our dog decided to throw his back and not walk!, we called Tavergam Vets and within two hours he was seen. Reception were great, the vet (Laura) was excellent and gave the dog a full MOT. Luckily just a sprain, but a painkilling injection, and two weeks of pills later I feared for my wallet, Taverham are not the cheapest, but actually I was suprised, it was not as expensive as I had expected and overall I would say good value. Definitely great Vets, and we will definitely be back if needed

Fantastic experience: Last night we had to make the heartbreaking decision to put our beloved fur child to sleep. He was 15.5 years old and in pain. The vet, nurses and staff were wonderful. So kind and compassionate, and made what was a devastating loss a little easier to bear. Thank you all so much for your kindness and concern and gentleness. It meant the world to us.

Negative experience: Good vets but with a fatal flaw. The customer is not in control, nor are the staff. It’s just like at the doctors, the management is in total control of everything, therefore no instant personal responses, just recorded answer machines and web sites. Bring back people!

Fantastic experience: I'm nearly a year delayed writing this google review however the quick actions of Taverham Vets saved our dogs life and for that I will be forever grateful. We were registered to another vets and after our dog got hit by a car at 5.30pm, calling our vets, we were put on an out of hours waiting call. When your dog is in such a bad way, it's just not helpful. We drove to Taverham Vets and someone called ahead of us so they were expecting us. They were AMAZING. They took him in, and found a collapsed lung, internal bleeding from his spleen in 4 places, numerous cuts and bad ligament damage to one of his front legs. They worked through the night, avoiding surgery, updating me every 7 hours whilst he was in care. He came out, albeit with needing a leg removed at a later date due to the ligaments not function but alive and happy. We've moved him into this vets full time and wouldn't dream of sending him elsewhere. The staff are lovely, caring and calm - not to mention beyond talented! Dusty and I highly recommend for day-to-day and emergency care. Ps Dusty still loves to visit the vets even after all the emergency!

Negative experience: Not recommended for rabbits. Staff are not confident with rabbits they made the check up very stressful. The practice said when we needed there help said no as rabbits are not a priority animal. Not really interested when we took our rabbit for check up , didn't tell us anything about our rabbits health we had to ask the questions otherwise would of told us nothing. Definitely going to a different vets next time who specialise in small animals

Fantastic experience: Thank you to all the staff for consistently great service. I always feel assured that my cat will receive the best possible treatment. Fantastic experience: My dogs, their health and who looks after them in a veterinary sense is extremely important to me. I was let down massively by another local practice before joining Taverham, one of my dog’s lives would have been very different if we’d have been with Taverham from the offset! Taverham is a hospital and has specialists in different areas working at the practice giving peace of mind for whatever the concern may be. Staff have always been supportive, understanding, friendly, compassionate and caring. I would like to give extra praise to Helen, Luke and Kate who provide my Frenchies and I with so much knowledge, advice and wisdom. The practice is always clean and the receptionist warm, friendly and helpful. Taverham veterinary practice is an outstanding practice that I couldn’t recommend more. Fantastic experience: After a previously poor experience having my guinea pig seen at another vet, Taverham pulled through! My consultant was so kind, and even answered my questions about my other Guinea pig while fudge got a clean bill of health. He returned home relaxed for what should have been a stressful experience
