Fantastic experience: Despite having our bunnie put down yesterday the vet was very caring and gave as much time as we needed. Gave a very thorough investigation and options but he was just too poorly. Fully recommend for care and advice

Fantastic experience: Amazing staff. Can't thank them enough for the care they gave to my 1 year old dog who needed surgery for a complex fracture. I felt fully informed throughout and was able to phone for advise between appointments. Dealt with my insurance company promptly and were 100% professional. Highly recommended

Fantastic experience: The team were fantastic with our gerbil when he needed surgery. We were worried that as an 'exotic' species, we'd struggle to find somewhere in Bristol that would be experienced in operating on rodents. After being referred to Highcroft, with an Exotics department, we felt confident that we were in safe hands. They booked us in really quickly, explained every step of the process so we could make informed decisions, and were really thoughtful and caring for our little guy. Fantastic experience: Brilliant service, I travelled from Cardiff to have my dog seen here as they were the closest specialists. Leti was amazing, she explained everything clearly, gave us all our options and was always positive and optimistic. Surgery was performed and my dog stayed for a couple of nights. When he came home he was clean and his scar was neat and healed well. I was given a sheet with everything that had been explained to me which I found helpful to refer back to, they've always answered my queries quickly. Marney (my dog) is unfortunately not able to walk yet but I knew the odds before surgery and I'm grateful he is alive all thanks to Leti and the wonderful team at Highcroft referrals.

Fantastic experience: I got a referral to highcroft from my own vet who I was rather dissatisfied with. I arrived at the practice and was lucky enough to have Jennifer as my vet. She listened and asked questions and explained everything wonderfully. Unfortunately after tests it was the bad news I feared and we had to say goodbye to my beautiful boy Rex. Jen was great at explaining the process and was very supportive. 2 days later I received a lovely card, fur clippings and paw print which has made me cry all over again but such a wonderful and thoughtful thing to have done for me and my daughter. Highly recommended and a special thank you to Jen x

Fantastic experience: Expensive but good. So sad as I've had so many pets put to sleep here most recently was sonny my 20 year old cat which didn't suffer but spent the last year of his life with a brain tumour. Miss him.

Negative experience: Nicolas Granger, one of the Highcroft 'specialists' operated on my dog back in June 2020. My dog is paralysed and unable to urinate on her own, so we have to express her bladder by hand. Last June, Nicolas installed an implant which meant to empty my dog's bladder using a remote control. He told us that he has done that procedure on over 40 dogs and all the previous surgeries were 100% successful. He added that my dog's bladder had a precondition which could be an issue however, he reassured us twice that if we keep the device for longer it will eventually empty the bladder so it is worth doing it. Unfortunately, this is not the case. After many weeks of trying, the device works max 50%. When we confronted Nicolas, he claimed he never told us that the device will work fully on my dog. He simply lied to us. When we raised the issue with the clinical director, Paul Higgs he did not believe us. We paid £7,500 for the surgery and the implant that doesn't do the job! We were not offered any compensation. Nothing. The customer service is non-existing; they just want your money. Do not go there. They don't care about your pet, just about their profit!

Fantastic experience: I was extremely impressed with Highcroft. We took our beautiful bunny, Bonnie after being referred by our vets. Bonnie was clearly in pain but were unable to find out what was wrong. Highcroft found the problem straight the way. Bonnie has a problem though... she was told she was overweight and had to cut back on the cookies. This she is not happy with. She's got a big bunny bum.

Fantastic experience: This place is amazing. We took our bunny 'Bonnie' in today and she was looked after in a professional and expedient manner. Although due to covid we could not enter the premises we were given extremely detailed information about what was happening. before, during and after Bonnies' procedures. The lady was a rabbit expert and picked up many things our vet had missed. The services here are not the cheapest but they are the best. If you love your animal and want the best for it, take it to Highcross Vetenary clinic. They even dealt directly with the Rabbits insurers (Petplan) for us. 5 stars and genuinely deserved.

Fantastic experience: Was referred to Highcroft after my dog had unexplained leg and back pain. From the moment you arrive the staff are friendly, caring and put the needs of your pet first. We were seen by George a lovely vet who spent ages talking us through the initial consultation and then thoroughly explained the diagnosis and treatment plan. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

Fantastic experience: Great Avian Vet Service. Sonya is an outstanding vet! She is always willing to answer any questions, thoroughly explains treatment plans/risks/situation. She has made additional availability to see our Budgie in an emergency, and really cares for treating such small species. We have had to seek care for Bobby and Clyde this year with sadly one loss, but EVERYTHING in their best interest is delivered and explored. The quality of care cannot be denied and a great level of empathy. The reception staff are always so pleasant and quick to answer the phone. The nurses so friendly when they collect your pets. Great service!

Fantastic experience: The staff were very friendly. The communication was excellent. It's a bit pricey service but you have to pay for the expertise. The vet, Sonya was extremely friendly, helpful and honest. It is really looks like they really take care of your pets and knows what they are doing. I would recommend them with no question at all.

Negative experience: Made us wait for our dog for over an hour, called the reception again and they forgot about us. Great. They then forgot the prescription we requested, this was then provided a week later with the wrong dosage. Incompetence is very high in this practice.

Fantastic experience: Amazing pet hospital with extremely caring staff. On my last visit here it wasn't a happy encounter and it ended in the passing of my partners pet. But the way the staff handled our case and even bent the rules to allow us to come into the hospital and say our final good byes. They are also very time efficient and seem to have quite a big capacity. Much recommend!

Positive experience: A few of the vets here are petrified of our cat and so are essentially unable to check him without sedation, which is ridiculous and highly frustrating. Never had this problem at different vets with a much more feisty cat. It also takes multiple visits for them to take anything seriously, which makes you feel it's all about the money.

Negative experience: Not professional at all!! They messed up a simple spay operation by accidentally cut my cat's ureter. They even didn't notice it at the first place and asked me to bring my cat back home. It's the first time I have a cat, but I still felt she didn't look right after spay. I was calling the vet everyday after spay and every time they told me this is normal. Until a week later they give my cat a check-up and told me she had kidney failure and one of the kidney needs to be take out. It is a nightmare for a first time cat owner. They didn't give us any compensations or even didn't refund us the spay fee. They do not care the animals or the owners. All they want is money. Worst vet ever! Avoid it!!!

Fantastic experience: This practice has looked after our dog since she was a puppy. We had a crisis this summer and the attached vet hospital stepped in. The staff communicated brilliantly twice a day, gave our dog TLC as well as medical care. Would recommend them any day

Fantastic experience: Highcroft Veterinary Group located in Bristol were just excellent with an exotic in my care; the veterinarians were highly experienced, provided a high standard of technical care towards the exotic and provided real life training experience accompanying student veterinarians; all veterinarians, members of staff and students were excellent, respectful and knowledgeable. Fantastic experience: We have been using Highcroft for19 years. They have always looked after our dogs with care and expertise. We almost lost our dog last year but the overnight hospital and availability of experts and the right kit meant that we are still enjoying her company today.

Fantastic experience: This was our dog Diesel's first visit today, the vet was extremely professional and sooo lovely with him. He is usually a nervous dog and doesn't like strangers, she got down to his level and took time reassuring him, couldn't believe he happy walked in with her. Her feedback after the consultation was thorough and informative explaining everything. Really good service, and really impressed definately recommend.

Fantastic experience: We have been with Highcroft for many years recently our puppy River became very ill and we took her in she spent six days there all the vets were brilliant but one in particular Rachael Fahey went above and beyond you took care of her like she was your own and spent the time with us to explain what was going on even if you were late leaving by a hour and getting in half hour early to check on her we want to thank you so much for your kindness and wish there were more people like you.

Negative experience: 6 months ago my cat needed to have an x-ray and i had to pay 500£. my insurance payed the 300£ and i payed the 200£ also i was paying for direct debit kitten club after that i have been keep reciving letters about that i have an outstanding balance. I called them and they have sorted but now i recived again with a higher amount and they are asking me to send a bank statemant about 6 months ago what a joke.

Fantastic experience: Such an amazing vets, they really care for your animals and I've been to so many vets! They treat you as someone who does understand your animal and not just as someone they can take for a ride. The prices are quite high but I don't mind at all considering the services, particularly for rabbits they have been fantastic and have knowledagble staff! And they have 24 hour emergency service which I called about and got an answer with advice immediately. Love this vets

Fantastic experience: My dog Esme (Hungarian vizla ) had surgery and a week later, she is bouncing with no pain as though nothing happened. The anaesthetic regional block was amazing because, she didn't have any pain post operatively. During surgery and days after I was constantly updated and monitored of her progress. Her fitness being a (Canicross runner) perhaps helped in her speedy recovery but I can't take away the credible care the vets at Whitchurch provided her. It was important to us that we provide such positive feedback to the whole team. Many thanks

Positive experience: Great service until we had to put our pet to sleep. We were caught in traffic on the way and rang to ask if it would be better to rearrange than come in late. We were assured that it was no problem. When we arrived we were rushed by a quite unpleasant vet who told us when we asked for a moment with our pet that "you are very late and other people are waiting". It was very disappointing to be spoken to this way and the lack of compassion was evident. We also felt misled as we called to avoid exactly this situation. We left before any procedure was done and called our local vet who managed to fit us in at no notice and gave us all the time we needed. Most of the staff, especially Gemma the exotic specialist, are excellent. Let down however by the behaviour of one.

Positive experience: Very expensive compared to other vets but we were referred due to the specialist knowledge, which they do seem to have. The vet was nice but professional, as I guess they have to be. Reception staff come across as a bit cold, uncaring and inefficient. We unfortunately lost our dog the same day . They were very matter of fact about his remains and we had to chase them numerous times to get a final bill.

Fantastic experience: Our 10 week old kitten suffered some head trauma and was bleeding and going numb by the time we had gotten to the vet. Everyone there was so helpful and it was like someone had flipped a switch. They took him away and took care of him over night and nursed him back to his bright and playful self. They called us regularly every 2 hours to give us updates and even offered to call us in the night if anything happened to him so that we would know. We are so thankful and happy that he's back to us. They were also kind enough to help explain how the insurance works and what would be best. This was all greatly appreciated. He's great now and so lively.

Fantastic experience: Great service, brilliant vets, and caring customer service. Much better than previous vets I have used. They basically brought our cat back to life after she went missing in a heat wave in mid summer. Visit hours were great and the regular updates were thoughtful and informative.

Positive experience: Great staff and superb facilities in both their normal practice and their referral practice. We have used Highcroft for over 10 years now and have generally always been happy with their level of service. They have some truly skilled and caring members of staff or expertly cared for our Labradors. Every now and then you meet someone who is probably not so much a dog person, more a cat person but its rare. Only a couple of things preventing this from being a 5 out of 5. A couple of years ago we visited a referral centre in Wellington, and noticed then the difference between Highcroft and that centre. Having just travelled some distance we were happy to see a good coffee machine and facilities, which are not present at Highcroft which would make people travelling some distance more comfortable. Finally they have started to use branded products for their pet club, which you receive if you subscribe to their pet care product for a fixed fee per month. They're OK but generally not as good as well known brands previously used. To close though, you'd be hard pushed to find a better vet in the Bristol area.

Negative experience: Everyone is very friendly - but I fear it is money above care. I'm never sure if I'm getting the RIGHT advice or the most PROFITABLE advice. We were referred here after our cat had a scratched eye - the 10 minute appt cost over £200 and was told an op was the only recovery option at almost £2000. The op was booked but ultimately didn't go ahead because of another health concern... The eye healed on its own a couple of weeks later. Get insurance - get a second opinion.

Negative experience: Have been dissatisfied for a few years with Highcroft. My local clinic was Brislington but it's always impossible to get an appointment, so have had to go up to Whitchurch. Disappointing final visit to Highcroft. Took my rat in to be put to sleep. He was over 2 years old and had laboured breathing and I knew it was the end. The nurse took him away and told me not too worry as she'll bring him back. She didn't. I never saw him again. I was very upset but had to endure a 10 minute lecture by the vet on his weight/diet! I've moved away from Bristol now so I'm glad I don't have to go back!

Negative experience: Took my cat here because of a possible fur ball or possible foreign object, after he said £700 to have an senior ultrasound, then another £300 or could go up to £2000 I quite rightly said no wonder vets make so much money, obviously a vet doesn't earn all of the above but because I didn't say veterinary practice he said 'I'm actually quite offended by what you said', my response was 'really, everyone knows vets charge excessively' he said you have no idea what I earn, i was shocked at his response and said obviously I mean veterinary practices, he said that's not what you said and he was breathing heavily when he said it, I felt quite scared! As a customer I am offended as I have spent thousands at this vets. Never, ever, ever am I, or my family going to Highcroft again. Extortionate prices, rude staff. My cat I had to have put down they failed to put her to sleep correctly at my home on first attempt, cat was squealing because the vet failed to take note 4 times by me that the vein will blow, she went ahead and it blew my cats vein. I was in pieces and I quite rightly only paid £75 instead of £150. They sent me a statement of the outstanding amount, which because they left my cat in pain, i will never ever pay. My account, as far as I'm concerned, is now closed.

Fantastic experience: Took our parrotlet here when she got an abscess on her head. Jemma was fantastic and has gone above and beyond to help our little bird. Will definitely visit again for checkups and birdie care.

Fantastic experience: Visited here at a very stressful and upsetting time for me. Staff could not have been kinder or more patient. Reception staff provided us with tea and kept us updated. The vet Tam was lovely, very kind, patient and understanding and explained everything fully but very clearly. For the care and diagnostics carried out I do not think they are expensive. Highly recommended this practice.

Fantastic experience: Very caring and compassionate company hat offer out of hours and home visits which is invaluable. Kam even sent us a sympathy card when he had to say goodbye to our 20 year old cat which meant a lot. I'm glad to be able to use this company for our future pets

Fantastic experience: We've used Highcroft for twenty years. They've looked after the six dogs we've had during that time with unfailing care and compassion and we recommend them without reservation. We even received a card a few years ago from a vet who had heard that we'd said goodbye to an elderly dog she'd seen regularly over the years - thanks Isabel! But last month they exceeded themselves when looking after our very poorly dog after he got heatstroke. The level of attention he got was amazing, and the twice-daily phone calls updating us on his progress were invaluable. One member of staff even brought their own dog in at midnight to provide blood for a transfusion, and this was the turning point for his eventual recovery. Kerry and the rest of the Wells Road staff from reception onwards were amazing and everyone there seemed to know our dog by the time he was discharged. I should also say they worked hard to keep down the costs of what was an extended stay without compromising their standards of care. We are proud to have Highcroft looking after our dogs.

Positive experience: Whilst I have been with the same vet for more than 20 years it has now been taken over by highcroft and the friendliness help information and compassion is 2nd to none . Recently I visited the withchurch hospital where my dog underwent a procedure since the operation I am very pleased with the vet , however when the bill arrived it was to say the least over priced , aswell as payments already made , not showing ! I have now been arguing this for 2 weeks and have received 6 different figures ranging from £35 all the way upto £3700 ! I have spent nearly 3 hours on the telephone 1 hour at the vets and still ....... !!! I will not criticise their vetenary skills but there billing department aswell as management need to make some serious changes to their service as I find it unacceptable for a vet to make this many errors for 1.5 days of service and then have the Gaul to deduct the error and tell me they they have given me a discount rather than giving me a discount on the price I was actually originally quoted for a smooth procedure being that is what she had....... to be continued !!!

Fantastic experience: Brilliant service, the resident exotic vet is very good with the ferrets and knows her stuff. Having a more unusual pet it's good to know your vet is knowledgeable about the specific health issues they can suffer.

Fantastic experience: Very good vets. I have only ever used these vets and have never had any problems.. staff are all friendly and they have vets trained in all types of care there. Not the cheapest place about but you do get what you pay for and I feel they are worth it for the care my pets get when they are there.

Fantastic experience: I was very worried about my sick puppy, I was seen very promptly by a wonderful vet, who instantly put my mind at rest and assured me my little one was okay. The whole experience was really good. From getting the appointment to leaving. 5* vets

Fantastic experience: I've been a client of Highcroft for over 15 years and would not dream of going anywhere else. Their depth of compassion and care combined with an outstanding level of technical proficiency and professionalism provides me with 100% peace of mind that my animals receive the standard of care that we humans can only dream of!!! Add to that exceptionally friendly and welcoming staff, they deserve only the highest praise.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely amazing service, my 10 week old puppy became ill and within 5 minutes on the phone they had her in and seen to her straight away, they kept us updated all through the night to put our minds at ease, I can't thank the 3 shifts of vets and vet nurses enough for all your support and looking after my baby like she was your own. Bella is now home and back to her normal develish ways. I would highly recommend anyone to sign up to Highcroft the after care is also amazing they give you written instructions on what you need to do.

Fantastic experience: I can't get over the amazing groundbreaking treatment my cat received here. She would have had to have been put to sleep 10 months ago due to a rare cancer... but he performed a procedure (first known in the world) and here she is still strong and fighting. It's likely to get her eventually as her last batch of CT scans weren't great. But of course highcroft vets recommended "palliative care" and she's doing great so far! Miracle cat and a miracle team at Highcroft:)

Fantastic experience: I have been using a branch of this veterinary group for over twenty years. Excellent service - friendly, helpful staff. My cat had recently been hospitalized, we were kept updated with care every step of the way.

Fantastic experience: Had an emergency appointment today (Sunday) with my cat. Friendly staff situation dealt with quickly out the back with the help of a nurse. Soon on our way with a course of antibiotics. As per all other visits, couldn't fault them!

Fantastic experience: Personal and friendly service. Staff are excellent and provide a high level of care. Have gone above and beyond for me on my last few visits. They also have a vet who specialises in small furries including guinea pigs. Which is great as not a lot of surgeries have that. My guinea pigs were always recieved the best treatment and care and I have never been made to feel a bad pet mum when I have brought them in with silly queries (they were my first guineas and as rescues were neglected and needed specialist attention)
