Positive experience: Gave us a telephone price for spaying our girl dog but added 50 quid on top when I collected her . =/ but they have done a good job on her she had no issues and a neat little scar

Negative experience: I booked an appointment specifically for a pet health certificate for international travel. During booking, I made it absolutely clear that: I am using a specialist pet transport company I would be travelling by plane three days later and reuniting with my pet. The practice accepted the booking and took a £100 deposit. One hour before the actual appointment, I received a call from the vet Simrath saying the transport company must be present during the visit, because they are “travelling with the pet”. This requirement is ridiculous, not supported by any government guidance, and was never mentioned during booking or in any documentation sent to me. To make matters worse, my neighbour completed the exact same process at this practice two months ago, under the same circumstances, and no such requirement existed. The certificate was issued without issue. This shows a clear lack of understanding of government pet travel requirements, or selective interpretation to suit the practice. When challenged, the vet claimed this requirement was “written on the certificate” — yet none of the documents provided to me stated this. As a so-called “gesture of goodwill” they refunded the £100 deposit, but due to their last-minute incompetence I now stand to lose £400 already paid to the pet transport company. That is not goodwill — it is damage control after a serious failure. I have since contacted MediVet, who confirmed that this is not the correct approach and that only the owner needs to attend (if travelling within 5 days of the pet travelling). Expecting a transport company to attend a vet appointment is unreasonable and ridiculous. Shocking behaviour, poor competence and zero accountability. Do not use this practice for pet travel certification. EDIT: attached government guidance, which shows current requirements. Nothing with the guidance to require the pet transport company to attend the appointment for the certificate - it's only the owner that needs to attend and to confirm the name of the company that will be transporting the pet and then add this to the certificate. This has been confirmed by the other vet practice as being the correct procedure for these certificates.

Negative experience: absolutely horrible. I took my friend to this vet for her ill cat, they charged her way too much for consultations just for them to guess and give a rough estimate on what was wrong with him. my friend took the cat back to the same vet again for another appointment, and they proceeded to charge her again, just for them to tell her the same thing, they weren't helpful at all, and her cat ended up getting way, way worse. if i could give this place 0 stars, i would.

Negative experience: About six weeks ago, I had a consultation and was advised to return for further testing if I remained concerned about my dog’s condition. I followed this advice, but during my recent appointment, I paid another £50 for what turned out to be a very brief consultation—only to be told there was nothing more that could be done. I left feeling dismissed and even mocked, which was quite upsetting given my concern for my dog. I do want to highlight that the reception staff were lovely and very sympathetic, and I really appreciated their kindness. However, I feel that the vet’s approach and attitude could be improved to make clients feel more heard and respected.

Medications dispensed in practice are sourced directly from UK-regulated veterinary suppliers, ensuring that all products are genuine, correctly stored, and handled in accordance with strict veterinary regulations. This provides an additional level of safety and assurance compared with some online retailers, where supply chains may not always be guaranteed.

In addition, the overall cost of running a veterinary practice is significantly higher than that of an online warehouse or pharmacy. This includes not only the higher purchase price we pay to suppliers, but also the costs associated with maintaining the facilities, equipment, staff and clinical services necessary to provide safe and effective veterinary care.

Fantastic experience: I just picked up my cat from a dental cleaning and extraction, he had 5 teeth out, anaesthetic, teeth cleaning, medication and a pre and post op appointment. and from start to finish, the entire process cost me just under £700. I was actually quoted just over £900 by the surgeon so this was great! The reception staff are so lovely and friendly and the clinical team are really nice and understanding too. A male vet (not sure of his name) clipped my cats nails for free at our initial appointment after I just briefly mentioned it in passing, that was so thoughtful of him to do and i really appreciated it! There happened to be a belligerent individual in the store when I was there and the staff handled it so professionally - they really do care for the animals and deserve the upmost respect. Thank you vets for pets, if my cat ever needs some help again I feel assured knowing this place will treat my boy right ❤️

The staff were amazing In July I got a 'Sorry for your loss' card with cuttings of her fur..I was not expecting this so this Team go out of their way to express condolences. 10 out of ten. Negative experience: On 22nd of August 2024 my standard poodle Mabel went to be spayed at Vets4Pets Walsgrave. My dog lost around half her blood volume (almost a litre) after the operation in their care and then died shortly after the second operation. We took her deceased body home, still warm and held her while we said our goodbyes, she was laid to rest that evening. The surgeon that completed her surgery at the time had only graduated a year before, why was he doing surgery unsupervised? Avoid this place and research your surgeons, especially if you want your pets to stay alive. What should’ve been a routine surgery ended my dogs life, she suffered before she died because of incompetent staff. The only consolation after my dog died? A refund. Mabel deserved more, she deserved better treatment and respect for a living being. #JusticeForMabel

Negative experience: I ordered a prescription for my dogs tick and flea tablets which costs £60 at this vet for 3 prescriptions. Nexguard Spectra costs £26.00 in my Central London branch in Maida Vale. I went online and they charged £26.00 with delivery. I decided to switch to online delivery, needless to say the administrators in reception will do their best to squeeze every last penny you have. What they failed to mention is that i had an option to choose between a 6 month and a 12 month prescription. So they decided for me and gave me 6 months prescription which means that i would need to pay another £60 in 6 months time. Not to mention she wanted the dogs to come in for a "check up". When i asked what was in the "check up" she fumbled and said it was eyes, teeth gums and it would cost £50 each. Not only was this particular administrator not competent at her job, but i found out that her daughter owned the practice. This was not only disgraceful on her part, but she was prideful enough not to apologise for her clerical error or professional scam (its not clear at this point as to what it was). But i will be moving my dogs to another practice, due to lack of transparency and honesty from this vet. I wish you all the best with you new customer base i am sure you will do well as your very good at your "job".

Thank you for your review and I am sorry to hear that you were not happy with the services provided. Unfortunately Nexgard Spectra is a prescription only medication. This means a veterinary surgeon must health check any animal to be treated with it annually. We were able to offer you 6 months supply because you had been seen within the last year when you applied the final dose. We therefore were unable to supply the full year as you would need to see a veterinary surgeon again before the course ended. It is not ourselves that

Our prescription fee is very competitive at £20 per prescription. If you required three written prescriptions then there would be a £60 charge for all three. I can see no clerical error made, you were advised of the correct prices and the information given was correct. Simply disagreeing with the price, frankly does not justify your comments.

Our receptionists are key members of our team, even though they know the basics, they are unable to go through everything the veterinary surgeon would do during a health check and we do not expect them to have this sort of knowledge. This is why our veterinary surgeons have undergone significant training and continue to undergo significant professional development.

Negative experience: My dog's appointment today was for 12pm. I arrived at the vets for 11.50am. Booked in and sat down. After waiting until 12.10pm , I asked the reception if they had me booked in? Yes she said your booked with vet M. I have now on the last 3 occasions , been sat waiting and been ignored for over an hour. I had to be back to work at 1pm so I asked again what the problem was at 12.30pm? I was told the vet was running late after an emergency first thing that morning and another lady in front of me had an half hour slot booked ! I should have been given this information after the first time I spoke and checked in. I was finally seen by the vet at 12.50pm and never got back to work until 1.30pm which is appalling . If I was given this information at the beginning when checking in I could have rebooked and not put my Job at risk. Appointments are for a reason, I will not be returning to this practice, after going here for over 10 years. it has almost tripled in price since it was bought by the staff. Profit is all that matters now with Vets for Pets. Customer service is lacking very much. I asked to speak to a manager and was told non on site. Then I asked for complaints procedure and was given a basic business card with the standard info on for vets for pets. I asked reception to write on the business card the managers name. She refused and said if you email that address and put the name Y in the subject bar she deals with it. Very bad customer service.

I am sorry to hear that you were unhappy with the service provided. Unfortunately our veterinary surgeons will always deal with emergency cases first, as we cannot predict when these will occur, I am afraid we cannot guarantee the vet will be running on time. They then will need to see these appointments in order of arrival. I understand your frustration at the time but I am afraid there is very little we can do in this situation.

Our prices are highly competitive when compared to the other clinics in the area. Any increase has been due to inflation, however we do try to keep our prices as low as we can to ensure we provide affordable veterinary treatment. I am afraid I do not work every day and all complaints must be made in writing. This is to ensure we have accurate documentation of everything discussed and agreed. Negative experience: Once again had problems with Walsgrave vets for pets, I collected my medication for my dog yesterday, It taken twenty minutes for them to find the tablet’s. I have just noticed the dose stated on the label is different to previous months?? So I called the vets for advice and had to explain the problem three times!! I made myself clearer and more assertive which was met with a dressing down from the (always rude) receptionist telling me not to raise my voice at her? She disappeared off phone to check, when she returned she simply stated it was their mistake and they owed me two tablets said bye and slammed down the phone!! Well that’s another mistake because surely they owe me three? Once again I’ve been made to feel guilty by pointing out this mistake and will endeavour to find another vet at the weekend

Negative experience: I am deeply disturbed by my experience with the practice manager at this clinic. During a recent visit, their behavior was completely inappropriate and unprofessional. They made unsolicited comments about my appearance that made me extremely uncomfortable, and their body language felt invasive. When I expressed discomfort, they laughed it off as a 'joke' and suggested to my 15 year old daughter that I ought to "lighten up"

I am sorry you feel the need to update your review over a month later with a story that is simply untrue. It is clear that if there was any credibility to your claims, you would have brought these up in your original review. We refused to spay your dog following the fact that you had already threatened to log formal complaints against two of our staff members before we had even admitted the patient. My decision was made purely on the fact that you had already put the staff on edge and I would not ask them to do a major surgery following this. Following your behaviour in clinic, you were then instructed that we were no longer going to be providing our services to you going forward and that you were to find an alternate vets within 10 days. You were also on your own in the consult room when I spoke to you and at no point did I make any comment regarding your appearance. Trust between us as a practice and yourself has been broken and we will not engage in any further communication with yourself on this matter.

Negative experience: Call them today because I have a rat that is struggling and struggling to breathe. I'm not stupid I knew he just needed to be put to sleep called to ask if they could help because my vets4pets are closed and they are ALOT closer then the out of hours clinic on top of that I can't really afford the £120 emergency fee that I would be charged. They refused to help. Personally I think it's disgusting that they care so little and clearly aren't interested in helping suffering animals!

Unfortunately as you are not a registered client and are registered elsewhere, your pets are under the care of the other vet. This vet has provided an out of hours service provider and this provider is who you must use when seeking out of hours care. Now saying this, we would usually see any patient that requires our help, however unfortunately this time it simply was not possible. Our vets were fully booked and we did not have the capacity to see your pet at this time. To say we care so little is simply unfair, our vets go out of their way every day, however on this occasion we were unable to accommodate you and you were advised to go to either your registered vets or their designated out of hours provider for treatment.

Fantastic experience: Bought our fish from here today. The man who served us was so knowledgeable and helped us so much. We knew roughly what we wanted but we asked his honest advice and we were given it, he also offered us advice on other fish related questions and only sold us the amount of fish he would suggest for a new tank, with the advice to come back again in a few weeks. The lady on the counter was also super friendly. Talking to our toddler and including him in our purchase. Definitely would return!

Negative experience: Attended after 5 years of being a paying customer, told that it could be a brain tumer, hemorrhage in the brain or something else very serious and would need to be referred to their emergency practice in Solihul. £2200 later, no answers as to what was wrong with my girl. Advised for her to take medications, charged £80 for them, to be told 2 days later to stop them. Rude reception staff and management don't take complaints seriously. It's a shame, for those few working there who genuinely care for their customers and their pets, the practice reputation is seriously damaged because of how poor people skills others have. We have now left and will never return.

I am sorry to hear about you pet, however this review is simply not true. Having checked the clinical history, you were seen by our veterinary surgeon and were told on the Sunday that your pet had a pyometra and a kidney condition. Supportive treatment was given correctly on the Sunday and you were booked in on the Monday for further treatment with possible surgery. I can confirm that the veterinary surgeon also advised that there may be something else underlying, referring to the cancer you speak of, due to the severe kidney values. You were given all the options by our vet on the day and were advised of the severity of the condition and if you wanted to continue with treatment or consider euthanasia. You then failed to return to us on the Monday and once we contacted you, you advised you went elsewhere for treatment.

Negative experience: Only spoke to them on the phone, I explained I could not get an appointment at our usual Rugby branch to be told they are like Macdonald's and a franchise they have nothing to do with them. I asked if they had an appointment to be told no try somewhere else. Won't be trying them again.

Positive experience: Nice vets, all staff have been lovely each time I've been. Expensive but not anymore expensive than any other vets. Didn't appreciate the offer of paying an extra £90 for my cat's spaying procedure so that my cat could recieve extra fluids, when I think this should be offered to every paying customer regardless. In addition to this, the collar that they wear post procedure costs £10! You pay all that money for the procedure and then you feel like you should be able to afford the extra £100 so your pet recieves the best treatment?! Aside from that, the experience I've had with the vetinary surgery has been pleasant.

Thank you for your review. I am pleased overall you were happy with the service we provided. Unfortunately if we were to include the fluids and buster collar in with the procedure we would have to raise the price. We don't want to do this as fluids are not always necessary and we want to provide owners with the option of having them or not to ensure we keep our prices as low as possible. We have considered including the Buster collars in with the pricing, however as different sized collars vary in price we do not think it is fair to ask clients to pay more than they need to. Some owners also already have these at home to. I hope this answers all of your questions and we look forward to seeing you for your post op checks.

Fantastic experience: Took dog for a comfort cut as she can't tolerate full groom any more. Groomer tried for a while but pooch couldn't cope so we called it a day. Groomer was very gentle with her but it wasn't to be. Can't fault the service though.

Negative experience: I cannot fault the vets, they are all nice, reception staff is usually very helpful too. However, consistent lack of professional customer service from management following two separate issues is appalling. I am specifically referring to Ivonne and the service I received.

Negative experience: Bringing our pet rabbit in for a vaccination booked well over a month ago only to get there and they didn't have the medication available.... Perhaps let customers know your out of something specific for the appointments before making them waste a journey... But you're more than happy to charge for other things that we weren't in for....

Negative experience: DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. Would give zero stars if I could. Admin staff are extremely rude, unprofessional, and insensitive. They cancelled my appointment 2 days before. My cat needed to be vaccinated otherwise the cattery said they wouldn’t be able to have her as we are going away soon. Myself and my partner tried to explain this to the staff there but they had the AUDACITY to hang up. When my husband when into the vets to ask why the admin lady ended the call, she said “because we were going around in circles” my husband explained how he was not rude and was only trying to find a solution as this is THEIR JOB, instead she ended the call very rudely. The admin staff were of no help and did not try at all to get us an appointment for us. They said our cat “isn’t a priority!” We are now stuck and need our cat vaccinated before we fly out in a few days and currently cannot take her to any cattery as getting her vaccinated initially is a requirement.

Unfortunately there is currently a national vaccine shortage for the FELV and Tricat vaccines meaning we cannot get hold of any. The suppliers do not give us pre-warning of this and we only found out when we went to order more stock and it failed to arrive. As a practice we did have very limited stock in already, however these were prioritised for the patients most in need of them, Primarily kittens which had not received a vaccination before and therefore have no immunity to the diseases. All adult cats that have been vaccinated previously would still have some immunity.

I understand your frustration in this matter, however I hope you now understand why we made the decision we did.

These delays are caused by emergencies which cannot be planned for and often they can take a a few hours of a vets time if surgery is involved. Fantastic experience: We had come in for a routine check and the vet noticed that lizzie had a problem with her heart, so she was booked in to do heart scans etc to determine the problem as she was very scared they had to sedate her, everyone we dealt with were so helpful and informative, the reception team with helping sorting out the insurance side and the vet was amazing with her and explained everything so clearly I could not recommend them enough

Negative experience: Disgusting customer service over the phone. STAFF DONT LIKE THEIR JOB AT THIS SPECIFIC VETS4PETS SO THEY HAVE A HIGH TURNOVER OF STAFF MEANING THEY ARE ALWAYS UNTRAINED and DON’T know how to manage your issues correctly, whilst they frustrate you INTENTIONALLY with their attitude because they make NO sense. CARE PLANS FOR YOUR PETS ARE PROVIDED BY THEM AND ARE OWNED BY THEM “animal care” just take the payment on their behalf. BUT THEY'RE SOO LAZY THEY CAN’T EVEN COMMUNICATE WITH “ANIMAL CARE” IN REGARDS TO THEIR OWN PLAN IN WHICH THEY KNOW ALL THE DETAILS TO ALREADY FROM PAYMENT DATES TO FAILED PAYMENTS AND SUCCESSFUL PAYMENTS. JUST LAZY STAFF. Staff on the shop floor however are fantastic friendly and energetic.

Fantastic experience: First appointement my cat was due her injection, second visit was booked to have her neutered. I am very happy and satisfied with how we were treated from the minute we walked in the door, friendly receptionist, amazing vet and nurse. Fantastic experience: I would just like to say thank you to every single one of you. This is such a lovely veterinary practice and all staff are so kind. I have been in now a few times for my kittens injections, microchips and spays and all staff go above and beyond to make me and the kittens feel at ease. They are so caring and couldn't do enough for you and your animals. Special shout out to Kim for being so lovely to my kittens when they had their spay a few weeks ago! Thank you so much again! Negative experience: More like Vets4MoneyOnly. I had one of my pets registered with the clinic and he needed to be seen ASAP. After phoning the clinic I have been told that they do not see exotic pets and I should phone the Hinckley clinic. Phoned there and the team told me that Walsgrave clinic has a duty of care for my pet and it should be seen ASAP. Phoned Walsgrave again and this time I was told my rat can be seen by a vet. It was like phoning 2 different as the responses were also different. Nevertheless, I took the rat to be seen that day - can’t understand the reason they said NO in the first place. Furthermore, they also overcharge for drugs. I have registered my pets with the local vet now and I am much happier.

Negative experience: Visited Walgrave branch today 16/01. I was stood at the reception desk waiting to pay. 3 members of staff at the desk didn't acknowledge me. One of them openly using foul language while talking about another member of staff. Couldn't fault the vet but Definitely wouldn't return on my experience with reception staff.

Fantastic experience: Dimitra- absolute star! She’s been great these past 6months or so with Yogi’s care - so accommodating and caring and efficient. Positive experience: Answered phone fairly quickly when my local vets kept me waiting. Fit me in as an emergency and was seen almost immediately. Was given consultation cost over phone but was a bit of a shock when costs more than doubled for treatment. However the vet and vet techs were really nice and showed compassion and empathy and treated my pet well. Exam was thorough and I cannot fault the care or treatment. Would be nice if they displayed treatment costs online and in store to prepare pet owners. To be fair they are not as expensive as other vets so I am happy to continue treatment there.

Fantastic experience: This practice is of upmost proffessional standard . Vets are young up to date caring people. There are alot of staff to help. The place is used by local animal owners. I had used this vet for years. Recently my 18year old cat had to pass . It was dignified and pain free. I bought her home to be buried. A few weeks later I received a sympathy card from the staff. How thoughtful could that be . Thanks.

Negative experience: Avoid. They don't even deserve 1 star. They misdiagnosed my dog. They said he has a kidney condition but he only had enlarged prostate. I have been told to feed my dog a special food to support kidney.If I'd only listened to them my dog would have been seriously ill.

Fantastic experience: Staff were great here. Very gentle with the new pup for his vaccines. The only time I've seen a vets light a candle to show a customer is there saying goodbye to their pet. As our appointment was delayed, I assumed it was because of this and didn't complain how long we'd been there.Very respectful vetinary surgery.

Fantastic experience: I had several questions I needed answered regarding my fish tank and so approached a member of staff busy cleaning one of the tanks. Tho busy he answered all my queries in detail and offered further assistance should it be needed. Left impressed with service and four extra fish I hadn't gone in for Clean well lighted shop with friendly, knowledgeable staff.

Negative experience: Very rude had to pay £350 for my rabbit to be killed. Most insensitive people on the planet. They told me £256 on the phone witch i didn’t have in the first place then after they killed him they upped the price
