Negative experience: **AVOID PDSA LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!** THIS IS NOT A SAFE PLACE TO CARE FOR YOUR PET!! Took my dog to pdsa Wednesday lunch time for an "emergency appointment". I asked for an x-ray due to a possible injury to his back or neck. The "vet" felt around my dogs neck and body and said he had arthritis??? With no x-ray?? Sent us home with rhemocam. My dog was sore prior to this, but next morning deteriorated after taking this medication! Gagging, collapsing and breathing difficulties etc so we had to take my dog back to this vile place again! He was worse attending pdsa than he had been at home!! Another vet came out to the car to help me lift my dog into pdsa. She tried to put a muzzle on him when clearly be couldn't breathe, so I had to intervene! Again despite me asking, they didn't x-ray him, just looked at him and said he is "just sore so we'll give him bupaq injection and he'll be fine to go home" I again asked for an x-ray and to check if he was having a reaction to the rhemocam, she nodded saying "no he's just sore" gave the injection saying we were "fine to go" My dog was still losing balance and still crying out in more pain after this bupaq injection. The same vet came outside the building and started giggling saying "look at him he's drunk?!!" NO, MY DOG WAS IN PAIN, and being palmed off with painkillers!!! Extremely unprofessional of her...but it got worse, I wasn't comfortable taking him home in that state so I took him back in again while the vet was still giggling outside! Another vet at psda took him and said my dog was suddenly "aggressive" and "must not like strangers" so they "couldn't work with him to see anything going on" ??!! This wasted 2 days of my dog in constant agony at pdsa, with nothing but arsing about from them!! Another girl in pdsa started crying in the waiting area because of the cries of my dog..pdsa continued to say he was fine!! I removed my dog from pdsa and brought him to Flynn's vets at balmoral just half an hour later! In Flynn's, he was treated with respect, dignity and the first thing the vet at Flynn's mentioned was an x ray!! The vet at Flynn's was fantastic and my dog was NOT AGGRESSIVE with him at all, like pdsa had tried to say! The vet at Flynns knew right away that my dog had neck and spinal pain!! The very thing I was querying all along!! My dog received a much better service at Flynn's, with the vet knowing exactly what he was doing! Unlike pdsa who haven't got a clue what they're doing and palm you off with tablets!! MY ADVICE TO PET OWNERS...AVOID PDSA!! THEY ARE NOT A SAFE VETS AND PLAY THE GUESSING GAME WHEN YOUR PET'S CLEARLY IN PAIN!! NOT A SAFE PRACTICE!

Fantastic experience: Went to this vet today after noticed my dog was getting unwell and something was up! They booked me in next day and they were so friendly! They were so nice towards me and the bab! I would recommend to anyone the staff and everyone are so amazing!!!

As losing a long loved pet for 17years can be extremely difficult to say goodbyes to. Everyone was lovely and was helpful with us and was so gentle and helpful in are doggie last moments. Thank you

Negative experience: Visited this vet on Wednesday 26th March regarding a lump on the side of my dog’s leg. The vet took a sample from the lump to send for testing, they said they would be back in touch by Friday 29th with results. I did not hear back from the vet until the following Wednesday (2nd April), when they informed me the lump was untreatable cancer that they could do nothing about. They said my dog was too old for any treatment and the skin on his leg was too thin to operate near. When I sought advice from a different vet, I was informed the lump would burst if left untreated and they strongly advise the lump is removed as soon as possible. They assured me he is not too old for surgery and the skin on his leg is able to withstand the surgery and heal properly. I would strongly advise anyone seeking advice regarding their pet’s health to look elsewhere. I am disgusted with what has happened, and am sure it is not the first time.

Fantastic experience: Outstanding service from the guys, phoned this am with a concern for my 4 month pup, after receiving a videoed email they phoned and had my baby with the vet within 40 mins! they are so attentive and extremely professional I won’t ever go anywhere else. thanks to the girls on the Antrim rd x

Negative experience: Brought my wee dog for a diabetes test the girl on reception give me a small tube and said I just need a small bit..I paid £20 and £7.50 for the urine test Next day I brought the tube half full with the dogs urine the girl on reception ask me for more money for the results,I didn't have any more money I thought the £7.50 I originally paid was for the urine results so they refused to give me the results making excuses that half a tube of urine wasn't enough for a diabetes test..I new half a tube was enough to test anything..it's just because I didn't have the money they required (another £7.50) they also sent my girl a letter saying I wasn't allowed back because of my behaviour saying I was using bad words..but I've recorded it from start to finish and I wasn't aggressive at all. Just because I confronted them about ther lies.. Better going private your dog gets the treatment it needs

Negative experience: Have had my big shepard down at pdsa going back over a year now and now they do blood tests to see watz happened after she goes blind i asked a year ago to do bloods but they say it wasnt protocol theres a vet in there whos attitude is none existent not any empathy at all why did she become a vet whilst i do understand that they are crowded and very busy with all our we fur babys and for the most its a god send that they pdsa exist but i was let down with ethier bad vetenary skills or that vet just doesnt care or know enough .My sheba is now on liver support and had been taking steriod eye drops and steriods that they shuve administered

Negative experience: I could write a few pages about these fools but I won’t if you have any love for your animals pay the money to get them treated in a place that are trained there is a doctor in the pdsa on the Antrim road that is vile rude just to say all over her rudeness and lack of care my boy died

Fantastic experience: Fantastic. Really care about the animals. Wee Ellie had a hysterectomy and oophorectomy. The vets I took her to wouldn't do op due to risk. But would put her down. PDSA hadn't done this op before but gave her the chance. She's been brilliant since. So much happier. Am so grateful. Unfortunately Ellie became unwell and PDSA SD they no longer treat hamsters, only cats and dogs. Referred to private clinic which I can't get to as don't drive and miles away from me. No vet I have spoken to will treat a wee hamster just referred to Jubilee clinic. She is such a wee dote. I'm heartbroken. Despite that paying direct debit to PDSA cos all animals need treatment.But a wee hamster doesn't qualify as needing treatment.............my Willow Vet Portadown gave Chloramphenicol as a new antibiotic for her. Was a trial. 5 months later she's still doing great and running round the living room making me laugh. Now a year and 3 months. All animals need to be given a chance.

Fantastic experience: I was so worried about leaving my dog as she's a nervous we thing. I didn't need to be worried, staff were so lovely. On collecting her she was full of life and I could see she was well taken care of. I definetely would not worry about leaving her again.

Fantastic experience: I very recently brought my beautiful bulldog to these guys thinking she had a simple urine infection to be told the worst news possible. They scanned her, rang me asking for permission to do surgery, then ringing me back ASAP to be told there was nothing they could do. The vet was soo lovely, caring and very sympathetic to myself while I broke my heart over the phone. They let me come up to see her body in a side room wrapped in a beautiful comfy blanket. She was treated with so much respect and made me feel at ease to know it wasn't my fault that there was nothing I could have known or done. These guys are nothing short of angels! They did all this work without me paying them a single penny! I will forever be in their debt so I will in future be fundraising for them to give back what they gave me. Thank you PDSA XxX

Negative experience: Very surprised and shocked by PDSA Antrim Road, Belfast's despicable uncaring attitude for an injured Seagull in obvious distress. I went to them today with an injured bird that had been attacked by other gulls. I was there well before closing time but they left me standing at the door until after closing time and then they told me to go to Vets Now at the other side of town. Shocking!

Fantastic experience: My precious cat Bus Stop suddenly went downhill after what seemed at first like a mild dose of Cat Flu. He was admitted to PDSA Antrim Rd hospital as an emergency. The vet, Katie, was brilliant, she kept me updated by phoning me several times about his treatment and progress during the days he was an in- patient. He is home now and seems to have turned a corner and when I think of how ill he was when he was admitted I believe the excellent care he got has saved his life. Thankyou very much to Katie and to all the nursing staff, and reception staff too.

Fantastic experience: My first time taking Nova there. It was bright airy and there were three seats divided with perspex. The staff were polite friendly and professional. Katie the vet checked her thoroughly, gave her an anti sickness injection and anti sickness pills. She told me everything I needed to know and answered all my questions. I paid my contribution and the receptionist was thankful and respectful. I left feeling Nova had been treated very well. I am very grateful to the staff who obviously care very much for the animals that go there.
