Fantastic experience: I found a cat that had been killed outside my house. I phoned this vet and they were happy for me to bring him down. They checked but sadly, no chip. They kept him for two weeks so I could try and locate the owners. Unfortunately no-one came forward so they had him cremated. The staff were so lovely, and I was not asked to pay anything.

Negative experience: Not the warmest of welcomes, met with a rather stroppy, over-made up receptionist, who had zero politeness and even less sympathy. Last year my cats had the best treatment and I was hoping to bring my cat in for treatment, but was received with just a cold reception, and told to go to my usual vet, as I was not registered with them, even though the reception area was empty.

Fantastic experience: Having been with lake side vet's for a few years we wouldn't go anywhere else we had a 5 month old yellow lab who passed away with massive organ failure every single person who worked in the practice we're all so kind and thoughtful at such a heart breaking time in time we got another puppy and one receptionist thought that we wouldn't take your new puppy their because they couldn't save our puppy George but they did go above and beyond for our little fur baby

Negative experience: This practice has really gone down hill . Waiting times are terrible . No water provided for dogs had to ask for it . Just feel like its all about the money for them . Spoke to two people with dogs whilst there and they both agree that prices are sky high and service are not up to scratch . Three of us said we would prob look for diffrent vets in the area

I would like to say a massive thank you to the lady vet who helped send my beautiful fur baby over the rainbow bridge, also the nurse that took her paw prints and cut some of her fur for me to keep. They were so kind and caring and treated her with dignity and compassion as a loved member of my family . I will be forever grateful

Fantastic experience: Our dog Roxy has gone to Lakeside since she was a puppy, and we’ve always had the best experience with Lakeside Vets. We sadly had to suddenly put Roxy to sleep on Friday 22nd, and they were so supportive, explained everything to us, and gave us the time we needed with absolutely no rush. Today, we received a condolence card through the post from Lakeside which is so nice of them to send. <3

Fantastic experience: We are new to Swansea area. Lakeside Veterinary Surgery have been amazing from very first phone call. Surgeon Kinga has been absolutely wonderful with our 2.3 kg, 15 year, Yorkshire Terrier, Claire. Claire never hesitates to go into the office for Kinga to help her with various little health issues starting, with couple visits needing urgent attention. Kinga was on holiday one visit, Surgeon Andreas attended to Claire. He was equally as wonderful, thorough, attentive. Staff are absolutely wonderful as well. All very welcoming, attentive, thorough, kind, caring. Cannot speak highly enough and thank Kinga, Andreas and staff at Lakeside Veterinary Surgery enough for all your wonderful, kind, thorough care. Highly recommend...

Negative experience: Friends staff, lovely and clean...still waiting for them to submit my insurance claim from 2 months ago!! Admit fault not the staff

Fantastic experience: We had an emergency and phoned the vets, our Tess was having a seizure out of nowhere never had one before. We rushed her down and from the moment we got there we were supported by the staff we were taken straight in to a room and the vet examined her and took her straight away for treatment. The vet was amazing she looked after Tess and us and explained everything that she would need to do. We were allowed to see her after they had given her meds and had to wait 2 hrs for them to work. It was the longest 2 hrs ever but during this time I was phoning checking on her and the reception staff were so kind and caring saying we could call as many times as I needed to. When 4pm came we went back and was told the meds had worked and the seizure had passed but they needed to observe her for another hour or so before she could come home. All in all the vets saved our Tess and I will recommend them to everyone. The care Tess had and the support we had was outstanding and I cannot thank them enough. Tess is not just a pet she’s family and in an emergency like that I wouldn’t trust anyone else to treat her. Thankyou so much to everyone there for your kindness and support in what was a very scary situation.

Fantastic experience: We’ve been using Lakeside a few Years now & the Reception staff are always friendly and helpful to us On a recent occasion Andrea at Reception helped save our dog having to have an additional anaesthetic to take a sample because she was so willing to work with Weighbridge Referral Centre who already had her under anaesthetic Weighbridge were willing to take the sample while she was asleep & Andrea agreed we could then take the sample slides over to Lakeside for them to be sent off immediately to see what needed to be done A few days later we had a call from the Vet Kinga ( sorry if spealt incorrect ) to confirm it was good news Thanks to Weighbridge & Lakeside staff who were willing to work together on this for the well being of our dog lovely staff Had to find another vet after our trusted vet retired after many years which was a worry as the new vet was a locum and overdosed our precious cat making her extremely ill we eventually started using Lakeside and now more often than not see Lisa if she is available as we have 100 % trust in her ability to look after our pet

Fantastic experience: The practice is clean and well run. Staff are friendly and helpful. Prices are rather high, in line with most vets now, being set by large franchises. Andreas is a wonderful vet. His warmth and concern for patient and carer shine through. Andreas is thorough during the examination and explains every step, including costs, in detail. His calm,kind manner is very reassuring. On our last visit he thought my cat would need a blood test then realised that her yellow mouth was a temporary reaction to eye drops, not hepatitis. No blood test required thus dispelling the myth that all vets are interested only in making money. Excellent all round.

Fantastic experience: Warm and welcoming at the practice, clear concise information given at all times. I was kept updated on pricing and procedures. They looked after my poorly pooch excellently. I went away with medication and clear information for home use. I know if I have any issues I can call back and get more advice. I would recommend this practice to anyone and everyone 5*

Negative experience: For new puppy owners, be aware of extortionate consultation prices for vaccinations, worming and microchipping. They will entice you with a "Pet Health Club" to spread the payments throughout the year, but there are far cheaper practises around. They also tried to upsell me insurance packages 4 times while I was there. Although the vet and receptionist was friendly, I cannot recommend.

The ladies at reception offered us tea/coffee and had conversations with us to help pass the time waiting while our dog was having her x-ray. The vet was an angel and treated our dog with so much care and compassion, and made sure to discuss all options with us and make sure we were happy before going ahead with anything. So glad I chose this practice to look after our girl ❤️

Positive experience: Firstly I would like to say that I have been with this veterinary practice for 5+ years and a little while ago they had a great deal of staff leave (who were absolutely fantastic every single time that I had to contact them or visit the practice, everyone was so kind and helpful) unfortunately the new team are no where near as welcoming. I would like to say that Kinga (vet) and Vicky (nurse) are absolutely amazing, the care that they show to you and your pet is absolutely fantastic, but unfortunately the reception staff let the practice down as they are not so friendly or helpful, there is an older lady there who is very rude. I have been stood at the desk waiting to check in on a few occasions and she doesn’t even acknowledge that you are in front of her waiting, until she is ready, I understand that she is looking at her computer, seeing to something else, but a simple “ I will be with you as soon as I can” would be fine because at least I’ve been acknowledged, but she doesn’t, she just leaves you stood there waiting, making you feel like you’re an inconvenience. The next problem is that their policy has changed with regards to dealing with insurance claims, whereas before, you paid your excess and they claimed the rest off your insurance company, but now you have to pay the full amount on the day of surgery/ treatment etc. which is a huge problem for us because we do not have hundreds or thousands of pounds readily available to pay for the fees upfront. We have had our dogs for 5+ years and at the time both my husband and myself were working and would have been able to afford these payments but now my husband who is 73 had to retire due to ill health and I myself had to give up my job of over 33 years, and cannot work due to very bad health and medical issues which have left me disabled and unfit for work. These changes have affected our income vastly and that is why we are in the predicament of not having the money available for expensive treatment. Our dogs are all insured and on the practices Pet Health Club (which has had an impact on our finances due to the PHC increasing the cost from £13.99 a month to £20.99 over the past 3 years, which is just down to pure greed, we have 3 dogs so when you times the increase by three it adds up to an extra £21 a month) I recently had to put one of our dogs on the new plan which is £29.99 a month due to it covering unlimited consultations as she is unwell at the moment and needs medical investigations but we couldn’t afford to pay £58 each visit for the consultation as well as the cost of the medication needed. There are many many pensioners and low income pet owners that are struggling to make ends meet at the moment through no fault of their own, so for Lakeside to change their policy to you having to pay up front for any operations/investigations etc is very very disappointing and upsetting as it has left pet owners like myself putting off said treatments/investigations, literally because we do not have the funds to pay up front. This causes a great deal of distress, because it’s heartbreaking to see your pet suffering and yet knowing that you can’t get them the treatment they need due to Lakesides policies. We thought that we were being responsible pets owners by making sure that our dogs are all insured and in the Pet Health Club program so in the event of them needing any veterinary treatment that they would be covered, but none of that is any good when you don’t have the funds to have to pay up front due to Lakeside’s policy. I thought that veterinary practices would be more helpful when it comes to the welfare of animals, but it seems that Lakeside are more interested in profits. Therefore I would advise friends and family to look elsewhere for veterinary care for their beloved pets, if possible, as other practices deal direct with the insurance companies themselves.

We seen Kinga she was amazing with maisy and got us referred to Bristol in minutes maisy has had a huge op and will be home with us tomo. Negative experience: Vets are amazing at what they do however practice manager and reception staff are very rude. Never had an issue in making appointments before now all of a sudden because the chip isn't registered to myself I can't make an appointment even tho all my details are on the system. After making no head or tail with a breakthrough we've had no choice but to change vet practices to one that is more understanding and people friendly.

The staff never appear stressed by my dogs barking as she does as soon as we arrive. I have used Lakeside for 9 years now from when Star was a puppy. I would definitely recommend the surgery to anybody looking for a friendly place who look after ur pet/pets well.

Negative experience: After being charged £58 for a medicated shampoo, I went to look online for it and found exactly the same product selling for £16.99. I called back and asked why they charge £58 for it, was given some spiel nonsense. The receptionist asked me to be " civil" as she's only trying to help me. Since when it querying a price and laughing about it telling her I found it online for £16.99 being uncivilized! Get a grip. She offered me to take the shampoo back and print a script off (£30) charge! Absolutely shocking. So had I done I would have only been saving £11. The consultation fee has also shot up to £52... last time it was £40. Disgusting.

Everything was explained to us and we were given plenty of time. We came away feeling very happy with the service and we both feel that Marie was the best vet we have seen. We have been with Lakeside since it opened. We were concerned going there today as there have been so many staff changes and depending on how this visit went we may have changed to a different practice. Positive experience: Sensible and stable veterinary clinic. Not flashy but solid and dependable. They obviously care for the animals and are really good with them. It's a shame I would have to go elsewhere for overnight care as I wouldn't want to trust my dogs to anyone else.

Negative experience: Phoned them because my dog was really ill, she was registered there but under a different owner, receptionist wouldn’t even ask the vet just said I would have to try elsewhere and hung up, disgusting for a vet to turn away a serious ill dog, would never go there again or recommend them

Fantastic experience: Now, let's start by being honest - nobody really likes going to the vet. It generally means there's something wrong with your fur baby, and/or your going to have to shell out some money. So, to carry out this experience with such a friendly, caring and competent bunch such as the Lakeside gang, goes a long way to help! Unfortunately our Golden Retriever, Dustin, was taken quite ill just before Christmas, and diagnosed with an Intussusception - we'd never heard of it, but we're warned it was potentially very, very bad....but we guessed that from the fact that Dustin had lost a quarter of his body weight in a matter of a couple of weeks. He was in for surgery the very next day, and we had quite a tense Christmas as we hoped for a good recovery. So, here we are 5 months later and Dustin is topping 30kg and about to turn 1....and we're back down there because he's likely done a cruciate ligament in one of his back legs....it just never ends But all the way through these traumatic times, the team at Lakeside have been amazing - they've reassured and cared for both Dustin and us, helpful with sorting insurance claims, flexible on excess payments, and generally just a great bunch of peeps! They can't be that bad as Dustin actually enjoys going there! Special shout out goes to the reception team who are always happy to see Dustin, top vet Lisa who performed the life saving op, Dannii and the team for looking after him while he was there, and last but by no means least, Jac - who first raised the alarm that something was not right! I know it's their jobs, and they obviously all really enjoy it - but thanks guys, me and Louise, and of course Dustin will forever be grateful for your work and efforts!

Negative experience: Awful. Needed to change details with them which i believed had happened but this was not the case. They didnt update contact details like i asked and now i am having issues moving my cat from one vets to another. Because the cats still under her previous owner whose dead. Good luck tryibg to contact the previous owner shes a box of ashed on my bookshelf.
