Swansea PDSA Pet Hospital: Reviews
Negative experience: Wouldn't see our dog as they were short staffed Even tough they were about 10 staff in reception Only one dog waiting to be seen Had to put her to sleep 2 weeks later
Fantastic experience: This place is fantastic they rely on donations and treats every animal like their own
Negative experience: The PDSA through neglect has caused the death of two of my cats. Both succumbed to diseases nobody knew they had because the PDSA failed to perform the necessary checks. If something is seriously wrong with your animals take them private because yeah it costs a lot but at least you'll be leaving the practice with your animals healthier than when they went in. 0/10, you scumbags killed my cats and I'll never forgive you.
Fantastic experience: Very friendly staff, there is parking, everything was done quickly and professionally.
Fantastic experience: I would just like to praise the staff at Swansea ,my lil Chihuahua had a massive breast cancer lump removed yesterday and the care she received was the absolute best even to the point of being cuddled alday to keep her warm .they are the best and I can't thank them enough xx
Fantastic experience: PDSA Swansea have been outstanding. The team are compassionate, professional, and incredibly supportive. My registration was handled smoothly, and their communication has been clear and reassuring throughout. Even though they’re a charity under huge pressure, they continue to provide first‑class care with kindness and patience. Their work makes a real difference to people and pets who would struggle without them. We’d be lost without the PDSA. Thank you to the whole Swansea team for everything you do.
Negative experience: Leave you waiting for LITERALLY hours, and was mad that i was 3 minutes late when im walking there with a 3 legged 11 year old dog. Disgusting behaviour, wouldn't bother and wont be bothering in future. Go somewhere that actually cares
Negative experience: Took my cat down 2 month ago and they said he had a couple months to live due to cancer on the 18 of December we had to have him put to sleep not more than two minutes after he was put to sleep they said he had an outstanding bill when every time we paid now I phoned for a cat who has a severe skin condition ripping at her skin they said it not an emergency what a joke supposed to help animals and they ask for donations not happening anymore
Fantastic experience: Amazing experience with the team who were working today 14/01/26. They reassured me every step of the way and were so kind especially after having a very panicky and overwhelming situation with my lovely cat. Really appreciate their kindness and how well they looked after my boy for me to pick him up today. Compassion goes such a long way and everyone on shift there was so comforting and my cat felt safe in their hands as did I
Fantastic experience: I can't thank the emergency team enough for saving my girl's life. Fast acting, thorough, clear and precise communication in one of the hardest and most stressful situations I've ever been in. Everyone who works here is a hero. The PDSA admitted her first thing in the morning and performed life saving surgery, with the surgeon even calling me DURING surgery to tell me what exactly was going and what what our options were. They are an incredible team. My partner and I just had to say goodbye to his is little sister very suddenly, I've also had to put my childhood family dog and cat down this year, so PDSA didn't just save my dog's life, but ours too. We couldn't have taken a different outcome. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts ❤
Fantastic experience: Had my dog put to sleep. All staff concerned were thoughtful and very kind
Negative experience: Absolutely shocking i will remember and will recommend people to not visit, i had given details for my pet and they’d said “its not an emergency” and now i found a place elsewhere and now they’ve found out that has life threatening conditions and is possibly not going to survive, absolutely disappointed in this behaviour. Sadly it has been put down and not in pain anymore…
Fantastic experience: Lovely staff couldnt wish for better saved are girl who was on deaths door
Fantastic experience: Thank you thank you thank you, our wonderful dog Peggy who was almost 14 had to be put to sleep today and every single member of staff we came into contact with was so so kind and unbelievably professional, you all made an impossibly sad situation a tiny bit more bearable and for that I cannot thank you enough
Fantastic experience: Really nice staff
Fantastic experience: 5 stars .had to have my staff put down due to old age.
Fantastic experience: The staff at the vikeing way surgery in swansea have been absolutely brilliant in their help for my pets ,very professional and understanding, they are a credit to the PDSA,Thankyou
Fantastic experience: Love how they treat my dogs. staff super friendly
Fantastic experience: Brilliant staff, just very busy, didn't go in on the appointment time, and took time to get the medication
Fantastic experience: Make sure you register your pet with the PDSA before your pet needs it and keep you registration up-to-date. The staff, nurses and vets are brilliant and very kind, but they cannot see pets that aren't registered and there are eligibility criteria for those on low incomes. They will turn pets away if they are not registered! They are a charity that work on donation, so please chip in whatever you can afford if you use them. They saw my dog as an emergency appointment and we were treated extremely well. They were lovely to me, my kids but most importantly my dog. They helped him and I feel really confident in the vets diagnosis and treatment. They made me feel assured and let me know to call them if my dog went downhill. Cannot thank them enough. When getting there, the satnav will tell you to turn left into the ambulance station, but keep going up the hill and it's the 3rd right - it's got a big sign.
Fantastic experience: Friendly staff, unfortunately not taking new registrations at the moment but lady on reception was very helpful
Fantastic experience: The vet who seen my Sammy (Syrian hamster) today was so lovely very kind compassionate and totally understanding. Although it was sadly to late for my hamster the lady couldn't of helped me more thank you
Negative experience: the receptionist i got through to was atrocious she has awful English and hangs up on you it took 3 calls to get nowhere Disgusting service ! needs basic English speaking skills especially on the phone
Fantastic experience: Let us say goodbye to a Beautiful stray cat we had been feeding. Very sad, but meant a lot.
Negative experience: Only care about money. Give a 'cant be bothered' attitude. No compassion whatsoever.
Fantastic experience: They were very caring for our Bedlington and deserved the donations.
Negative experience: After waiting for over two weeks to see a vet. I missed one phone call from them and I was told that they only phone twice. Nice vets when someone has terminal cancer. Really caring (NOT). Then finally after all this time offered a telephone call for £24.00 Absolutely discusting. No care for animals at all. Booked with Afon a proper vets for £35.00 face to face tomorrow. I would not put up with the PDSA it is bad news and trusts customers terribly- AVOID & go to a proper caring vet. It's just not me. Take a look at ALL the bad reviews. This place should be investigated and closed down. They don't care about animals. PDSA nothing like they use to be.
Fantastic experience: The team took great care of Noodle throughout the night. They were helpful, friendly, and explained everything clearly, which made a difficult time a lot easier. Thank you for your compassion.
Fantastic experience: I recently had an appointment this week at PDSA hospital in Swansea. I was feeling nervous for the appointment, due to a previous veterinarian rushing me along at a previous appointment. This time my dog was seen by Jess and she was amazing! She took the time to listen to all of my concerns and she did a thorough examination of my dog. She explained everything clearly and offered multiple suggestions and advice on how to alter my dogs diet due to a likely potential skin allergy and even took an ear sample. I was so happy that she did because my dog suffers with her ears immensely and I always wanted her ears to be examined properly. Jess is a wonderful veterinarian who is patient and super friendly.
Fantastic experience: Very good vet care, however extortionately expensive as it was an emergency appointment.
Fantastic experience: They have excellent vets In house the costs are extremely reasonable They work hard and tirelessly to help Thank you
Fantastic experience: Dog had raisin toxicity, vet, and staff were very helpful
Fantastic experience: Great experience. Couldn’t fault it! Fast services and great staff!
Fantastic experience: Amazing staff, very professional and empathetic. Thank you so much for your understanding and help

Positive experience: I’ve used the PDSA for a few years now, the vets are very professional, they’ve always helped and i have no issues. The receptionist on the other hand is judgemental and rude! Absolutely no need for the attitude
Positive experience: Great team of vets got repeat prescription for my small dog who is on heart medication
Negative experience: hello everyone I’m here to write a review on pdsa they don’t even deserve this one star in first place as they staff are absolutely rude and from them to be a charity they really ain’t there to help the animals my 8 week old puppy that I literally had for two day caught parvo and was really ill bad vomiting back poo ext so I rushed her into pdsa and they literally took one look of her and told me to basically put her straight asleep as they couldn’t help me so I them took her to st James in sketty which was absolutely amazing may I add the staff was lovely I got treated how I should and they took my puppy I did everything they could for her sadly she did pass away on the third day of being with them but for the 2 days she was in there she was fighting though it and the staff did everything to help due to st James being expensive st James told me to transfer to pdsa which they then refused me to help her and then that same day they say they would take me so I went to pick my puppy up from st James to take her pdsa which bare in mind my puppy was in st James for a 24hour stay which means 24hours was over at 6:20 so I went to pick up to get to pdsa for 6 before they shut and they then told me at 5:45 then I had to be there at 5:45 for transfer or they won’t take her but then at James kindly let my puppy say there over night and only charging me for her medication she would be on and not her being in there and then sadly the time the puppy did get worser on the third day and did sadly have to get put to sleep but I thought I would put this review as I hope pdsa do see this and start to actually care about the animals and not the money as u should as being a vet as u wanted to put a little puppy straight asleep with no chance bare in mind they offered a stay but kept telling me not worth it as she’s got 0% of survival and that they didn’t have the medication for a little puppy because they are a “charity” there words and I told that to st James and they said the could of done exactly what they was doing honestly I really hope they change or people stop using them but this is here for pdsa I hope u see this and start to change and take on board what a real vet should be like 100% recommend st James sketty honestly couldn’t ask for better people to be around me when something so sad was happening as pdsa made me feel 100% worser pdsa Llansamlet Swansea may I add but anyways I’m putting this here for remembrance of my pretty little tinkerbelle 14th December 2024 I’m sorry u couldn’t make it my little fighter
Fantastic experience: My kitten was feeling poorly and was lethargic and off her food/drink. Took her to PDSA vet hospital as it’s used by my vet for out of hours emergency. The vet Robin was so kind with my kitten which made her experience a positive one … he didn’t rush or manhandle her but calmly, gently and quietly checked her. He was absolutely brilliant! Then the lady at reception (Sue) was also fantastic. She patiently helped me complete the insurance form and go through my documents to find the information I needed. The whole experience was very positive. Thank you to the team! My cat and I appreciate it!
Fantastic experience: Was seen very quickly. And explained in detail what was going to happen with my dog. Went 12 midnight to pick her back up. Again explained in detail about meds and future care needed. Very caring
Fantastic experience: Amazing staff. Very compassionate. Gave us as much time as we needed to say goodbye to a belived family pet.
Fantastic experience: Fantastic service, such a worthwhile organization. Well done to you all and Thank you..
Positive experience: Staff were lovely but £400 to put my dog to sleep should be reported as a crime !
Fantastic experience: Amazing out of hours service. Dog was seen very quickly. Vet was great and explained everything thoroughly. Put us all at ease. Thank you guys!!!
Negative experience: Staff have an awful attitude towards you. When you express concern about your dog passing blood in their stool and get to come back the next day for continuation of antibiotics they then refuse to dispense them before "checking with the vet" when it's already on my pets notes to collect them. I wouldn't even rate a 1 if you don't like working with animals and have no patient care why bother working in this industry.
Fantastic experience: Unfortunately due to our regular vets being closed over the bank holiday and our dog becoming very unwell suddenly we had to make the decision to put him to sleep and had to find an emergency vets quickly. The staff were incredibly helpful and were wonderful with our dog and made sure we were ok and comfortable during the process. We didn’t get the vets and nurses names but we were very grateful for the care and kindness we received. Thank you ❤️
Fantastic experience: I took my dog there last yr I couldn't have asked for better treatment they were warm.friendly very efficient and helpful
Fantastic experience: Very helpful and understanding the only thing is it's very difficult to speak to someone options not easy especially if you not got computer
Positive experience: Went yesterday and they were brilliant but they told me to bring my dog back in today as he has a bad leg, not only could I not get hold of them they put the phone down 4 times, told me I needed to muzzle my dog when he’s a pocket Bully not an XL and the woman in the phone was so patronising and horrible. Yesterday there was a youngster on the phone and she was so kind, this time it was some slow old deranged woman with an attitude problem.
Fantastic experience: Outstanding place from vets to reception staff all so kind and caring. Keeps our pets healthy on a budget we can afford.
Fantastic experience: Really can't thank them enough for looking after my sick rabbit Even though he was too ill and at the end everyone was really kind a sympathetic.can easily reccomended too friends and family.
Negative experience: I would not bother using this service anymore. I'll give you an example. I have an old dog on a well known joint medication solution that works, but I only get enough medicine for 1 month meaning I have to make 12 appointments (plus I have to get him examined now and again which delays add costs) and I end up paying the same if not more than what a normal vet would charge. In fact its much more because a standard vet will give me a prescription so I can bulk order bottles online, meaning I save much more and I don't need to make 12+ trips to the vets. If you're wondering why you can never get through, this is exactly why, they times their own workload for a simple prescription many times over and make it horrible and give you the smallest bottle so you essentially end up giving a donation which covers it or more. This is not what the PDSA is about, its supposed to be discounted, its often not and because of that mantra they act like they have ownership of your pets. I have had enough. I'm moving my pet over to a normal vet. I have also had intermediate problems on other animals like hernia and they've been so dismissive, basically saying, I would not bother doing anything about it unless its obviously a problem, by which time it could be too late. The place used to be amazing, but over the last few years its really changed and seems to be run to maximize profits and make it as difficult as possible to the point where you don't bother, or leave. I need to visit and pay them about 14 times a year JUST so my old dog can get joint medication. Really had enough. Final straw came when my repeat prescription was turned down as I needed to bring him in AGAIN. He was only there a few months ago. I really would not bother, if you really care about your pets, get private insurance and go to a vet that will actually not make it such a chore.
Negative experience: Absolutely disgusting service, (would NOT GIVE 1 STAR) my dog was hit by a car, so had a taxi early hours this morning which cost me 100quid. They offered no xray, were being very unhelpful, left me waiting in the waiting room with no contact, no other person or animals were waiting to be seen. I left with no pain meds, I asked and asked for XRAY and they just ignored me and called the police which I found disgusting!!! Apparently they are not called PDSA but SOMETHING else like vet first, I'm not sure. But absolute unhelpful disgusting behaviour. I am my dogs advocate end of. I speak as she can't. Please don't be in the profession of helping and understanding as you obviously can't. You need sacking. I'm taking this further. No pain relief at all!!!! Mind blowing You should be ashamed!!!
Fantastic experience: They were there when we needed them unfortunately it wasn't the best outcome for us or our lovely boy Levi but the staff there were so professional and treated us and Levi with dignity as we sent him over the rainbow bridge with his wings to run free without his health issues thanks PDSA and Vets Now for your service regards Rhian and Gethin Levi's Mam and Dad
Negative experience: Myself and my numerous pets had been visiting the PDSA hospital Swansea for over 30 years at least. But, over the last 10 years or so, the quality of veterinary care, in my opinion, has being going steadily downhill. There seemed to be a disturbing trend in the suggestion of euthanasia for animals that were getting on in age. Thank God that doesn't apply to humans! This is also a practice that obviously doesn't value their clients or the animals needing their help. I was told in an email that only pets of clients who registered with them in November 2021 could receive treatment there, and that they were not registering any more people because of a shortage of vets. I had the misfortune of registering in February 2021, instead of 9 months later in magical November 2021. They didn't give a toss that people of limited financial means and their pets were left high and dry, and therefore had no choice but to take their sick animals to a private vet for treatment that they couldn't afford. It's sad to see such a decline in a once great practice. The great lady who founded this charity must be turning in her grave!
Fantastic experience: Saw Poppy for check up and her repeat prescription. They also cut her nails for a small fee. Very warm and lovely to my nervous dog as always
Negative experience: The pdsa say they would never see a animal in pain or suffer my cat has weeping eyes and is struggling to open them my cat was registered with them but ain't been there for a while so because my cat has been fit and healthy up untill now they took her off I didn't know I had to renew it they never told me didn't have a letter or nothing so now I am dont know what to do cause vet want £300 just for a consultation they are suppose to help animals and they won't take my cat at all now they ain't taken any animals so much for help animals waste of time
Positive experience: Lovely staff who genuinely try to help every animal. My cat needed a surgery which was very complicated and beyond them, however they put me in touch with a suitable vet for a discount price.
Negative experience: I took my dog to pdsa after have two video calls with them. Due to my dog having blood in her urine. When I reached the pet aid hospital. Went in and a waited a while with my dog bleeding from her back end. One of the pdsa staff told me my registration had been cancelled as I didn’t register in 2021. They told me the last time they saw other dog was in 2021, this would indicate I did register as they saw my dog in 2021. So I ask where was the letter or phone call stating this. They said they sent a letter to me. Which was never received. I asked them so you are going to leave my dog bleeding and in pain. They said you can see the vet for £280 I how am I going to afford that as it was a day before Christmas Eve they said they may do a payment plan. So I spoke with nurse asking her if I could do a payment plan. To be told they don’t do that. She asked me what was happening with my dog I told her she spoke to the vet he said it’s not an emergency as she was on antibiotics and correct pain management. So the sent me home without even looking at her. At home the next night she passed some stones in her urine and was pouring out of blood but I still had no help she suffered in pain due to the pdsa as I had already payed £154 the previous Tuesday with a private vet. My dog was a rescue dog and insurance was taken out but she got ill on 13th day of taking out the insurance so they would help me till the 14th day do to cooling off period. Please beware of the pdsa they are not there for the animals anymore they really don’t care.
Fantastic experience: A fantastic level of care for their animal patients and unbeatable customer service to go with it. I can't praise them highly enough!!
Negative experience: Tried to get our poorly dog in there with water infection would not help at all on Saturday morning told to wait til Monday not impress at all!!
Negative experience: Refusing appointments for me dog with kennel cough who is now very sick thank for that told me it wasn't an emergency let an animal go sick to have kennel cough bad case of the black poo dog is suffering bad to he turned away this place has gone down hill told me five days for appointment he gone to a private vet witch i can’t afford the big bill for his treatment
Fantastic experience: Cant say enough always there for you and your pet, sad day for us had to have our little dog tia of 16yrs sent to sleep cause of cancer, but pdsa were compasionate and very proffessional through whole affair thank you pdsa of viking way swansea.
Negative experience: I will never donate to pdsa phoned them for a emergency appointment for my cat they wouldn't even see him
Negative experience: Had a terrible experience today with a vet called leanne! So rude and didn't give a toss about my rabbit ended up walking out of the consultation room, no manners or respect from her! Disgusting!
Fantastic experience: It’s been a long two weeks of being back and forth, but I have to say I don’t have many bad things to say about PDSA Swansea. The first time we took my female dog in because she was bleeding profusely from her nipple, all they did was check her over and bandage it. I did feel like maybe they could’ve done more but then it’s such a hard thing to diagnose, random bleeding. Anyway, she was back in that evening as she bled through the bandages. She stayed in, and they placed her on a drip. Sent home with pain meds on the Saturday, and had a vet check up on the Monday to see if the bandages could be removed. Monday bandages removed, sent home with antibiotics as still not well. Phone call Wednesday or Thursday to check in on how she was. Wasn’t any better and was coughing on her antibiotics. Vet did xrays, blood tests, steroid injections etc and my little one is doing so much better!
Fantastic experience: They were absolutely brilliant when my cat took ill. Took a long time to get an answer on the phone but once I did they couldn't be faulted...kind, compassionate an amazing service.
Negative experience: To day rang. Up pdsa for advice ubout my cat she’s terned yellow didn’t give me no help what soo ever just sed go on line this woman didn’t even ask a vet if it was safe I sed well I don’t now if I’m going to find my cat dead and what she sed was I’m sorry ubout that but u still gotta ring the 0800 number or go privet how the earth am I ment to afford to go privet and you can see here lips ears and nose has ternt yellow
Negative experience: Awful. Simply awful. The experience isn't fit to write here. Boils my blood to know my 17 year old boy spent his last moments with unneeded distress here due to bad decisions made by staff. One especially having an attitude that can only be described as abhorrent. Would rate zero stars if possible. Would advise any alternate than here if the experience mirrored this OOH treatment my boy was given when the place was practically empty with three vets at hand.
Fantastic experience: My cat is very poorly they were superb examining him although not good news but they were still very good xx
Negative experience: Dispicable.. My dog is in a bad way with possible Pyoderma. Red raw belly, swollen groins, open wounds, limited urination, lethargicand pdsa Swansea have refuse emergency treatment. Although allergies like this you class as an emergency. The woman I spoke to on the phone about my RUDI, shouldn't be allowed near animals, ignorant fool!. Makes me sick
Negative experience: I took my sons dog there over a week ago as he hurt his leg. The online vet said he had dislocated his leg to take him to the surgery. Took him down kept in over night to be told he has torn his cruciate ligament needs cage rest this was saturday. On monday no better was given appt for the thursday. I booked him in with my daughters vet and he had xtays and he had in fact dislocated his hip. They tried to pop it back in but he had to have surgery. If they had done there job properly he wouldnt have needed surgery and would not have experienced more paid. I am absolutly disgusted. Vet bill of £ 3000 in total my son is on benefite so ive used my savings. Im just disgusted that they could get it so wrong.
Negative experience: Its not the friendliest place to go but they do treat a lot of animals per day so i can see their frustration at times. We have tried calling them for months after COVID but you can never book an appointment over the phone or speak with anyone just says to go online which is a nightmare service. I would not recommend going their i would pay privately but i know not everyone can its definitely gone downhill over the years
Negative experience: The receptionist is rude and the nurse who provided the antibiotics had an attitude. Took over 3 weeks to be seen after going around the houses and this is for a dog we pay to see them.
Fantastic experience: Thay looked after my king that was fitting but after all the drugs to stable him we had to have I'm put to sleep
Positive experience: Pdsa is in need of donations and I have heard due to lack of this they will unfortunately have to close not sure if this is the truth hopefully not due to the hard work, care and compassion the staff give every animal they see.
Fantastic experience: Unhappy I visited under the circumstances but staff were helpful caring quickly responded to my dog's needs.
Negative experience: Took my cat here 2 days ago for a lump on pixie neck. Vet instantly said its a tumour and we should put him to sleep so he don't suffer. Lump came out of nowhere. Today we went to the CAT CLINIC in Llansmalet for a 2nd opinion as the vet didn't seem interested in trying to see if it would drain or anything. Well to my shock Richard at the CAT CLINIC instantly felt it and said that's not a tumour that's a abscess and shaved his neck where you could see the skin pink dying and drained it infront of us. SHAME on the PDSA all 3 cats will now be taken away from them and our 16 years with our cat will continue no thanks to the PDSA and that woman who checked him.
Fantastic experience: Very sadly my beautiful dog was involved in a car accident, i rushed him here but he didnt make it,The staff were very kind& sympathetic.
Fantastic experience: Fantastic service Wonderful staff They are amazing and work hard and I can't thank them enough.
Negative experience: not about my dog, but about a friends, she brought in her dog who was very sick, and he was treated but kept there for a few days for observation, they’ve now had to take him back because he was released too early and he’s throwing up and refusing to eat. they used to be the top reccomended vet service and now they have gone down the drain.
Fantastic experience: The staff here are great, super friendly and knowledgeable. They truly help you through your (and your pets!) tough times
Negative experience: I would leave no stars if this was an option! Contacted the PDSA yesterday requesting emergency help as my poor dog had given birth to a 2 puppies, 1 of which was unfortunately dead. The person I spoke with was judgemental and completely unhelpful, she disregarded my concerns about there being more puppies and the fact that the dead puppy was covered in green mucus and membrane, I was given some rubbish advice about not being able to prove there were more puppies (unfortunately i am not psychic) I was advised that this was not a clinical emergency and what to look for clinically which would be classed as an emergency! ! Spent all night watching the dog who subsequently delivered more dead puppies without displaying any of these so called obvious clinical signs ....... a traumatic and devastating experience with horrendous consequences which possiby could have been avoided should the heartless individual on the other end of the phone have shown some compassion, care and support for the welfare of the poor animal instead of trying to incite blame and express her views on the dog being in whelp in the beginning! Im lucky to still have my dog at the end of this ordeal. Overall a cold hearted, non compassionate and clinically inept service with the wrong decisions ultimately being made over the bloody phone followed by some condecending advice!! I appreciate the pressure and demand placed on the service however If this is the service standard to expect then I pity any animals that are unfortunate enough to require any support or treatment here
Negative experience: If l could give a warning sign rather than a star. I would.please think twice before allowing them to operate. Picked my dog up she was soaking wet and it was cold water they had used to clean her up before leaving. She cried and shaked all the way home. Then she fell ill so l took her to local vet after scans.x rays and cameras to find out what's wrong the pdsa really messed my girl up and the guilt l feel everyday. She's now stuck with conditions for life and medications. For shame on you pdsa.
Positive experience: Nice Vets but on uni credit no money paid from uni credit so no treatment. Nice but l do can get help if uni credit pay me 2p
Negative experience: . Long waiting time. Even with an appointment. Vet finished service in 5minutes. Dog was vomiting blood. Vet literally asked me "Ok, what you want me to do?" , for the vomiting blood situation. .
Fantastic experience: Amazing with the animals can't thank them enough for treating my cat, lovely staff x
Negative experience: Absolutely awful service, don’t have a pet there myself but having seen the way they treated my friends dog after being severely Ill for 3 years is absolutely disgusting I’d never recommend them to anyone
Negative experience: I don’t have a pet but after seeing what my sister and her partner has gone through I will never ever use this place. My poor sister dog wasn’t well for a while. They had to take him down to the Pdsa as they were told to do asap. The Pdsa made them wait outside for nearly hours knowing that they dog buddy was going to be put to sleep. My poor sister rang up to find out about her dog buddy cremation to be told that buddy had been taken in the wrong bag and there was nothing they could do about it. The cremation had all been paid for. Absolutely disgusting if u ask me. I don’t know how they can live with themselves doing this to people who are grieving over they pets.
Negative experience: Wouldn't even give a star if I had to my sisters dog buddy was put to sleep on sunday waited almost 2 hours to do this shocking as they knew why they were there 2ndly after they done what he needed doing they give them a number to ring for.his cremation which my sister done monday paid 113 for this so he would be done on his own my sister rings Sunday to confirm what day they would pick him up and lady said yes buddy will be ready then to have a phone call yestaday telling her they were very sorry buddy was picked up Monday and was cremated with all the other dogs but bare in mind lady told her Tuesday on phone buddy was there and waiting to be picked up shocking so not only they lied on the phone saying he was there they took him mo day my sister her partner and her son will not have they baby home now I will never use they service and I warn others not to either
Negative experience: The worst experience of my life. I know they are busy and have other people and pets to deal with. BUT to leave us sitting there for almost 2 hours to put our Buddy boy i to sleep is awful. Especially when when they told us to bring him down asap. Would never use this place again as some of ztaff are very iggroant and not helpful either.
Fantastic experience: It was a sad day when our little coco had to be put to sleep after 16yrs but the staff were fantastic, we had a room to spend as much time as we wanted with coco before she went and all 4 of us were there around her as she fell asleep ❤ I hope she realised how loved she was, and I can't thank the staff enough
Fantastic experience: The vets at pdsa are truly amazing . My mum's dog needed emergency treatment 1 o clock in morning and they went above and beyond and gave expert care . We cannot thank them enough they really are amazing ppl . Thank you, especially the 2 that treated my mums dog at 1am . Amazing people
Fantastic experience: The vet and nurses were very helpful and understanding. I was there with my in laws and their beloved dog jodie. Jodie was a 14 year old Labrador and she was very ill. She was put to sleep that night to stop her suffering any further, she will be missed by everyone! .
Fantastic experience: I had the best possible experience here like I have had before. Excellent customer skills and they genuinely care for your animals. They need as much donations as they can to keep doing what they are. By far the best place I've been. Thank you so much for fixing my baby's eye.
Negative experience: Im on benefits and eligible i thought for free treatment and pay a voluntary contribution if i could afford it!....... believing this i got a several year old cat from a friend. She hadnt been neutered so i asked pdsa if they could do it?.... after being on waiting list for several weeks i was offered an appointment but only if i pay a fee of £37 i cant afford this so had to decline the appointment!...... after much worry cats protection offered me neutering and microchipping for £5 at one of their partner vets. If it wasnt for cats protection i may have had to find a new home for my cat with owners who could have afforded to have her neutered
Fantastic experience: Very good and helpful and friendly staff they work really hard with our pets
Fantastic experience: Honestly, thank God! The work the PDSA do, and the care they provide for animals in need, is truly honorable. Thank you for taking care of Tanzy & Simba
Positive experience: I would like to apologise to all the staff on duty at Swansea PDSA Pet Hospital last Saturday night. Our ten-year-old Labrador suffers from arthritis and had suddenly become very slow and partly immobile and we panicked, assuming he was in pain and discomfort. However, when we saw the other pets at this hospital it became clear that it really is intended for very sick or injured animals, and our dog did not come into this category. Despite this, a lovely veterinary nurse still checked him thoroughly and told us that he wasn't critical and as such would be placed at the bottom of the triage (a very fair system whereby the most seriously ill animals have priority). It turned out to be a very busy night, with various critically ill animals arriving, and as a result we were waiting for five hours before we gave up and went home. This was our fault, and we should have reduced the onus on the staff by leaving much earlier. If your pet is seriously ill or injured, this is the place to bring them. The nursing and reception staff are dedicated, efficient, patient and friendly. I can't comment on the vet on duty as we didn't get to see her, but the service was impressive given the terrible work load on vets at the moment (she was the only vet on duty all the time we were there). This Pet Hospital does an excellent job in difficult circumstances - the building itself was spartan and not the best place to spend a Saturday evening, but it was a few hours for us while the staff have to spend much longer there! Hats off to all of them, and thank you for what you do.
Negative experience: Absolutely shocking service. Rung because my dog is very poorly with lumps all over, can’t eat. Just to be told it’s not an emergency. Sorry exact words were “it’s not a blue light to the vets job over night is it” then when I gave the same attitude back to then be told not to speak to them like that. Nurse was absolutely appalling. Also not to mention my other dog needed stitches I were told but them but they couldn’t do it as they were “too full” so then told us to put honey on it. Disgusting service.
