Fantastic experience: Always great with our 2 bunnies. Thankfully we’ve never had to use them in an emergency but I’ve no doubt they’d be brilliant as they always are when we take them in for their annual check up and vaccinations. Staff are always friendly and knowledgeable. Couldn’t ask for anything else!

Negative experience: Put prices to the products on the shelf! I was charged 50£ for a product that is 30£ on Amazon... The lady at the reception refused my refund because I take the product out of the premises for 5 minutes! Product sealed and unopened. Disgusted... after 7 years with this veterinary will move the dog to a different veterinary.

Negative experience: I went to see the vets about my tortoise who had a bleeding facial abscess, sneezing and diarrhoea - now I've done research it's clear he had a respiratory infection, which would need urgent antibiotics to stop it progressing to pneumonia. I was told he visually looked fine and to increase his vitamin supplements. It was a five minute appointment (which also cost a small fortune). No actual tests were carried out at all. My poor boy died of severe diarrhoea and pneumonia in a horribly traumatic death less than three weeks later. I'm really angry as this clearly could have been prevented. I appreciate this vets is not a reptile specialist - but if they can't correctly diagnose a reptile then they should not allow reptile appointments to be made. Seems like money grabbing to me.

Negative experience: They killed my bunny. We took my bunny to them as he was behaving differently. After checkup, we got told he would be okay but that we had to go and buy an important supplement for him at the pet shop. They didn’t have the supplement in any pet shops and my bunny died 2 hours after we took him to them. They charged us £175 for them to not even have proper medication for him and to kill him. And are now asking for another £15 because our insurance company called them when we wanted to get compensated for the £175 charge. Never go to them if you are worried about your pets health.

Fantastic experience: You walk in, and, it's your pet that the focus..and rightly so. Our labrador, was fussed over by the reception staff, and he loved it. I was dealt with quickly and with a smile all the while, our dog was being fussed over. The vet a young man made me feel like his job was brilliant and that our dog was special, (he is to us), but its nice to be made to feel like you're more than a customer.

Negative experience: disgusting people. They only think about their own pockets and newer about animal health. My dog need painkillers and they know about that. So they Try to charge me £69 for consultation fee and then £30 for prescription, what is absolutely not needed in this situation.

Negative experience: I want to share what my dog, Tyson and I endured because of ABINGTON VETERINARY. It’s a story of unnecessary suffering, negligence, and denial of responsibility. On 26.11.2024 I brought my dog in for a routine castration surgery. When I picked him up, I immediately noticed something was wrong. His intimate area looked abnormal, and he was in pain. The clinic dismissed my concerns and told me to return in three days for a follow-up. During those three days, my dog suffered greatly. He couldn’t rest, was visibly distressed, and cried in pain. Watching him go through this broke my heart and left me feeling completely helpless. When I returned, they told me he needed another surgery, blaming the issue on his breed and anatomy. I couldn’t accept this explanation and decided to take him to a different veterinary clinic for a second opinion. The second clinic performed successfully the surgery. When I addressed this with ABINGTON, they refused to acknowledge their mistakes and insisted they had done everything correctly. But my dog’s suffering tells a different story. This experience has been emotionally devastating for me. Our pets trust us to protect them, and I trusted this clinic to provide proper care. That trust was betrayed, and my dog paid the price. I’m sharing this to raise awareness and remind pet owners to advocate for their animals. If something feels wrong, seek a second opinion. Don’t let your pet suffer unnecessarily.

Fantastic experience: According to my research, this is the best Vet clinic in Northhampton. In terms of the quality of the treatment and professional friendly positive approach by the staff I would definitely recommend it to other people. I would say it is expensive, but the quality of the treatment is worth it.

Negative experience: No option for zero stars! I was overcharged when my dog was neutered, given options but not told of the extra cost for dissolve-able stitches. When I had my cat neutered I was told it was going to be £115 but they charged £147 - the vet didn’t tell me the cost or show me the cost on the tablet she was using, she just told me to skim through the t&c and sign! But because I signed they won’t honour the original cost I was given, I am disabled and have cancer, so was a bit emotional, I did swear at the unfairness of this but apologised straight away because it’s not something I would normally do, I tried to tell them that I would have queried the cost with the vet if she had told me and not just when I went to pay! The practice manager said she would speak to someone higher up and call me the next day - it’s two weeks later and I’m still waiting for that call! I have been with these vets for years - but not anymore! They have no empathy and didn’t stand by what they said, even though they listened to the call where I was told the original cost. Avoid these money grabbing vets!

Negative experience: We had our small dog sadly put to sleep at this vets it cost £480 and we were told we would get the ashes back in 2 weeks. That has now passed and I am still waiting. Its disgraceful how you can charge so much money to put a dog to sleep and then be waiting so long for the ashes to be returned.

Negative experience: Disgusting business practices, avoid at all costs! Asked for £3,000 upfront payment as they no longer allow direct insurance claims. They overestimated the bill by over £1,000 and then refused to refund my credit card, instead asking me to send my bank details by email(!) so they could submit a refund request via their central portal. This 'policy' was at no time communicated to me at the time of prepayment. After waiting 3 weeks it turned out the refund request had been refused because apparently there was a problem with my bank details, even though I'd gone into the practice to hand them in and asked the secretary to check they were correct. Only found this out because I chased! Was then asked to bring in my bank details again! When I told them I might default on my mortgage they were miraculously able to refund to my credit card after all! On top of that they made two mistakes on the original invoice totalling nearly £300 that were only corrected because I went through it with a fine tooth comb! The entire experience caused me significant amounts of stress which could absolutely have been avoided. Never ever will I set foot in this vets again!

Negative experience: Watch the costs they say one thing and add extra costs !!! His death wasn’t booked in, they couldn’t get the fluid in he was came back to me 2nd attempt panting and shaking..before he died what a memory I have… have left and took my other dog to another vet suggest you do the same !!!

Negative experience: Avoid this practice at all costs!!! The vets only care about the money rather than the welfare of our animals. They misdiagnose your pet and then try to charge you both costs despite their mistake, then threaten you with debt collectors. The head vet Theo is a compulsive liar and treats you differently dependent on what breed of dog you have. Gave them another chance after messing up first simple operation but wish had left after the first incident. AVOID ALL TOGETHER.

Update: Unfortunately our dog Bella had to be put to sleep today. The vet that dealt with her was absolutely brilliant. He was incredibly compassionate and caring. I can't thank him enough.

Negative experience: This surgery is not open to anyone who works so you have to book time off. Their prices are extortionate. Some of the staff are not customer centric. When they make claims the insurance pays but they take months to return any deposits. Gone downhill. Poor management

Negative experience: £250 charge for an ultra sound including care with signed payment up front (even though I had been with them 13 + years and spent/paid £2500 in the previous 12 months) and told to come back 3 hours later. As I was pulling away a tap on the window ! Procedure took 5 minutes ! I queried the charge and was spoken to like an idiot and told I had signed the paperwork . I cancelled all dealings with them including the 5x dogs Pet Health Club I paid each month. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER Other veterinary practices charge half as much for an ultrasound. The prices are extortionate and after 13+ years being a customer will NEVER go back or recommend.

Negative experience: Absolutely awful Service. We Bought the Pet Health Club insurance for our first dachshund and it seemed ok, when I asked about having a second dog on it were were told we get ten percent off, so I went ahead and when we got our second dachshund, we added her on to be told we were misinformed and there was nothing they could do. I felt I was mis sold this insurance. We were also surprised that they profuse to be dachshund experts yet have never seen a long-haired cream dachshund. 9 months later our pup had her first season, and we utilised our 'Healthy pet check with a nurse' we weren't told there wasn't a nurse available when we booked, so we got a vet unbeknown to us we were being charged. a few weeks later when we went to get the wormer and flea treatment. (Which I must add is never available when they say it is) £69 later we were left rather disappointed and when I complained I was told they would investigate it. I would assume they are still looking into the issue as I haven't heard anything. Avoid their Scam.

Negative experience: Basically a joke practice. Will respond to emails in 40-50 working days, charge you too much then struggle to refund you and be unable to do basic tasks without being called numerous times to remind them.

Negative experience: Standard of service declined since we first registered. Had to have my Dog PTS and while saying goodbye to her Vet asked how we were paying!!!! Lack of compassion at such a moment was shocking and made the whole experience more traumatic than it needed to be. Unforgivable I chose not to register with them when I got a new puppy.

Here we are in August, still chasing them to file correct information for my cats insurers, so her insurance will cover the cost we paid out. Fantastic experience: I do not live in close proximity, however none of my local vets could help when we I had an emergency with my young duckling, The practice gave us an appointment despite not being "specialist " with waterfowl. Fantastic experience: I just want to thank Theo for treating our little old lady Lottie before Christmas. We were so worried about her and Theo not only took care of Lottie but us as well. He called us personally and updated us with her diagnosis, prognosis and treatment plan. I am delighted to say Lottie celebrated her 17th birthday just before Christmas and has gone back to her cheeky, inquisitive self. We know we are on borrowed time but we can’t thank Theo enough. We have our little girl back and enjoying every second of her. Thank you!

Fantastic experience: It was our first visit to Abington Park Veterinary Surgery as we have recently relocated from London to Northampton. The surgery was clean and the ladies on reception were friendly, welcoming and helpful. The vet (Toby) was very caring towards our fur baby. Fantastic experience: Lovely helpful staff, friendly and welcoming atmosphere. My 15 month old Jackapoo loves to visit the vet! She gets lots of fuss and attention, and the professional staff all make things easy and clear. Amazingly fast healing after my girl was spayed and the scar is invisible now, just a couple of months after the operation. The picture was taken after her booster jab, which she didn't even notice being done.

Negative experience: They care more about money than animal welfare. Our rescue cat has a skin condition which requires cream applying daily, we’ve been ordering and using this cream for years and we asked if we could arrange for a repeat prescription to be done, and we’ve been told they charge £26 for this service? The cream itself cost £32?! I also asked if I could arrange for a callback from the vet, a week later I heard nothing so chased it up to be told I have to go in and it’s £60 for a 5 minute chat? Avoid at all costs

Negative experience: Absolutely shocking. Told on the phone cats first injection includes health check . Pay up front, so I did. My cat was not well enough for injection,,went to rebook an appointment and got charged £34.80 and £37 that i had already paid. Told if I go for injection today would be charged £37 again . Complaint has been raised but can take up to 6wks.

Negative experience: Abington vets cares more about money than animal welfare. I attended my appointment, (I made one mistake) I picked up the wrong handbag and didn't have my purse, I realised my mistake as soon as I arrived. I immediately apologised and offered to drive home to get my purse ( I was 15 mins early and had plenty if time) I was told by staff I didnt need to and could pay later on. I questioned this to check, she joked we know where you live! The I was kept waiting 30 mins ( 15 mins after my app so could have gone home and back twice!) The examination began only to be abruptly interrupted and told they would not treat my pets until I'd paid. I explained the misunderstanding, that I had offered to ho home prior to my appointment and told not to by their staff, they still insisted and so I had to leave with out treatment. I wrote a letter of complaint to which they quoted a new policy of upfront Payment not recognising any blame. I was treated like a criminal, felt so embarrassed and upset by the situation, I have never not paid a bill! Do not use this vets if you want your pets wellbeing to be a priority!

Fantastic experience: We took our two cats for their yearly heath check and Vacinations. The cats are members of the health club which is really useful as you don’t end up with a massive payout. The vet was amazing, really kind and took the time to hear about their personalities. He was so gentle they didn’t even realise they had their jabs. He gave good advice re long haired cat breeds in terms of matted fur patches. The reception nurses were lovely and efficient they always call when meds come in and didn’t get cross when we only brought in 2 cats… the 3rd one ‘ did a runner’ before we could entice him into our cat carrier!!! Fantastic vets practice , would def recommend ‍⬛‍⬛‍⬛

Positive experience: Very good vets. Kind and caring. My criticism is that while saying goodbye to my dying dog the receptionist came in with a card machine asking for payment. Couldn’t they have asked for payment on my arrival? They knew what the cost would be beforehand. Very insensitive.

Negative experience: Was quoted a price for our pet to be put to sleep. Went in on said date for the vet Dr Pinto to immediately throw down a badly photocopied piece of paper of the urns. They were indistinguishable from one another. Only seemed concerned about the price and getting it done as soon as possible. Was told a price considerably more than what was told on the phone. Told her that it was not what I was quoted on the phone, for her to disappear while we waited ten minutes in agony. They were listening to the phone conversation I had 2 days before. I finally got a real urn brochure from the receptionist, after walking out the consulting room to see where the vet had disappeared to. The price I was quoted was honoured, after an agonizing ten minute wait, that did not need to happen. A really bad and painful day, made worse than what it needed to be. Cannot accept the apology they sent or forgive. That was our little boys last day.

Fantastic experience: Today I received a call from Jan,, Abingdon Referrals Insurance Team, concerned that’s she had not received any paperwork regarding the insurance claim following surgery on Harvey. Now that’s what I call good old customer service! It didn’t really matter to the practice as they had been paid by me but Jan appreciated it was a large sum and wanted to make sure everything in place for me to be reimbursed. I chased my insurance company and prompted them to send request for my pets history. They had not even done this yet nearly 4 weeks after my claim went in. Jan rang back in the afternoon to advise she had now received request and sent everything required over to them. Thank you Jan for going that extra mile. Fingers crossed for reimbursement before Christmas

Fantastic experience: Abingdon Veterinary Centre.. Its an apsolute Pleasure to visit. I actually pass another veterinary clinic on the way to Abingdon Vets. I used to use another in the town centre. And our poodle broke its leg. This particular vets only does the basic level of service.. Like the one I pass. They farm the work out to a Abingdon Vets. Witch I learned of from picking up our poodle from there hospital at Moulton. I noticed my usual vet was handling the money side of things. We pay them.. They fill out the form for the insurance company. The insurance company only pays out around the 70% of the claim.. So I did get some money back.The vet was paid in full. I need to wait 4 months. But I feel they were makings in the middle.. So next was the obvious question.. Why on earth go to a 2nd rate vet who is more expensive than the vet that's actually doing the work.. We moved all our dogs straight away to Abingdon veterinary Practice. They look after all our dogs. 4 in total. 2 poodles, 1 maltease, 1 fell terrier. We have never had any issues at all. In fact these are much cheaper. The veterinary advice is fantastic. We never received before. It was like on convayer belt. Dog in.. Injection.. Dog out.. Next!!!! Abingdon Vets Practice.. It's the diffrence like day & night. Before the vaccination.. The vet she checks everything. Temperature, weight. Eyes, ears.. Feels down the body of the dog looking for a possible ingury to we might have missed. Asking about the food. Toilet. Then you will receive your pets injection.. Then have you any questions.. Never before have I received such service and support from a vet. Well if you don't use Abingdon Veterinary Practice.. You want too. There heads & tails above and beyond the others..

Negative experience: After using this vets for years will now be finding a new vets after our experience today. My eldest beagle has regular injections of cytopoint which normally cost £88 but today when we go to leave find out it’s now £112. We where first told when she started this if she lost weight and got under 20kg which she is now 15kg it will always be the cheaper price. If we where told before she was injected wouldn’t of been as bad but no one informed us of the price increase before hand. And to top it off they have also charged us for something that is covered by our health care for our younger beagle costing us an extra £38.00. Awful service will not be coming back.

Fantastic experience: An amazing veterinary practice. Always helpful and go above and beyond to help out. I can’t recommend them highly enough, and even though there are several other practices closer to me, I would never swop. Excellent treatment for my cats and always there for the owners too.

Fantastic experience: I thought the vets i was at in duston was really good but it was 1* and nothing in comparison to Abington Park Vets; I wish I knew about this place from the start so I could have had all my animals seen here. There is genuine care and kindness, so much so that there has been no distress, no fur loss or sweaty paws. I cannot recommend highly enough. Its absolutely first class. Book a visit and see for yourselves, you'll be so glad you did.

Fantastic experience: Lucy B Came To AbingtonPark Referral’s Friday 26 March to see the vet. All the staff were lovely. The vet was very detailed In telling me what he found. What a lovely caring group , I know it’s there what these lovely people are here for I would say 5⭐️* . I would defiantly recommend Abington Referral Vets . Negative experience: Trying to get an emergency appointment for an injured animal and after messing me around for 30 minutes registering my details just to tell me they have no appointments. This is not acceptable as it was an emergency. Will never use this place again

Negative experience: What they charge should be illegal. (Hourly rate for an average Vet Surgeon is approximately £42/hour of work- this place charges £50 for 10min talk with a Veterinarian- they call it "consultation". According to this rate they should charge max £7 not £50 for 10min talk. It is outrageous. They are focused on monetizing on your pet's poor health. Vet should at least like animals and care for them this practice is purely profit orientated. They don't have passion for animals. Receptionists are extremely incompetent/useless and not polite at all. DO NOT GO THERE.

Negative experience: The doctor without appropriate competences was unable to perform the tests he first proposed (even basic one like blood collection), then he checked dog’s temperature, ears and stated that everything is okay. Even though the dog is limping! The vet said dog is healthy based on conversation with me. I am very unsatisfied with consultation as you can clearly say my dog in not well and need treatment ASAP.

Negative experience: I've been using this practice for a number of years and have always rated highly but recently I have found them to be lacking in customer service. My dog has a skin complaint that has not healed with the collar or treatment given. Tried to call yesterday to book an appointment and after 1 hour and 20 minuets of being on hold (apparently 2nd in que) was told that there were 'no further appointments for today, call back tomorrow'. and so 24 hours later I call dead on 8am when they open to be told ' you are 6th in the que' 50 minutes on hold....tried my partners phone whilst still on hold and got straight through :) only to be told all appointments had gone, try again tomorrow. Sort your phones out and your customer service .....If I have the same issue tomorrow I'll be reporting you to the RCVS.

Fantastic experience: Some real truly amazing people work, vets who really care both about the owners and the animals, we have been taking our cats here since we have had them over 7 years now, we have had happy and sad times unfortunately we lost one of our boy to a car accident and the vets on site were very calm and profession with the whole situation, so can't thank these guys enough, the pet plan they run is a great way to make sure all booster jabs and health checks are covered and something we have always had our boys on, would recommend this vets to anyone who getting any pets, so much love for the guys and girls who work here, keep up the amazing work ❤️❤️
