Many pet owners express gratitude for the lifesaving care their pets have received, often mentioning how PDSA is a crucial support for low-income families.

Clients appreciate the friendly atmosphere, noting that staff members are efficient and empathetic. Experiences shared by pet owners showcase the excellent level of care provided, which has made significant differences in the health of their animals.

Positive experience: Helpful and supportive

Jo Posted on Google 4 months ago

Negative experience: Normally I have positive things to say about here but today I was told by the vet to go to a pet shop to get mite treatment after waiting over an hour to get seen. Most vets should know that this is unsuitable for exotic pets. Waste of my time!

Fantastic experience: Took my sister and her dog to see a vet. Great experience as always.

Dave Bowhay Posted on Google 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: Fantastic place staff were very friendly and helpful.

Charlotte Cioffi Posted on Google 1 year ago

Positive experience: The only thing that lets this service down is the management of prescriptions. They are also not flexible with times to collect ( shut during a hour or two over lunch ) and not open Saturdays. Even though the prescription is ready you have to wait 30 min to receive it . It’s inconvenient and needs to be a new process in place. The staff aren’t always considerate and make no allowances

Fantastic experience: Great staff and trying to work with so many ill pets

Monika Varhegyi Posted on Google 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: I've been there first time couple of weeks ago and back again last week with my 2nd recently adopted cat. I've registered online but not had experience yet with own pet - so all staff members where very kind, helpful and explained each steps of their actions and what I suppose to do at home. We've received excellent service each time, they were very gentle to my old cats Thank you so much for their hard work and care for our pets and the owners/parents too.

Fantastic experience: Staff are lovely and friendly, and vets went above and beyond

Jim Duffy Posted on Google 1 year ago

Positive experience: I took my daughter there with her dog who was poorly and totally stressing out ,appt was 10 .30,didn't see the vet 12 .20 ,I know it's charitable but it wasn't a good experience through no ones fault but , with my daughter having MS,she was struggling and her dog really stressing ,the wait was too long, maybe they should let you wait outside in the car with your dog and then come out and call you in,just a suggestion. The PDSA do a grand job and I contribute monthly but they seem to take on more than they can manage.

Nikki Tustain Posted on Google 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: My beautiful girl had to be put to sleep today . The vet was so kind and explained what would happen and was really sympathetic. Pdsa do an amazing job , can't thank them enough .

Martine Bartlett Posted on Google 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: Always helpful. Did surgery recently for my dog, she had cherry eye and entropion, been a long recovery for her, but the surgeon has done a fantastic job. She's more beautiful than ever and can't thank them enough for that.

Sandie King Posted on Google 1 year ago

April Naylor Posted on Google 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: It was a positive experience at the pdsa. Busy but helpful staff. I suffer from anxiety but found it easier to keep calm. I feel happy that my pug has been checked and on medication. Recommended.

jay bee Posted on Google 1 year ago

Negative experience: Dispensary need 2 hour lunch break between 12 and 2. Lesser staff can’t give meds Boxes that are already made up waiting to be collected

kirsty sheridan-aston Posted on Google 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: Nothing short but lovely vet who took care of our dog. She had to muzzled (due to anxiety) and our vet still tried her best even with her being there.

George Smith Posted on Google 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: Staff are very friendly and always understanding. We made a visit last year and sadly had to come to a very hard decision. The staff were very understanding and made sure we were okay before leaving. There was no pressure from them. We've made a visit since and as I say, the staff couldn't be any better.

Liz Farr Posted on Google 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: I have taken my GSD Zebedee to an appointment for a growth in his mouth .the vet was very professional .his immediate diagno.i visited again sis of the lump was benign .a huge relief .the staff at reception are helpful and informed and kind .

Claire Lemasurier Posted on Google 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: Great level of care, lovely reception and vet………website not great

Vincent Williams Posted on Google 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: Clean tidy and the staff are polite and friendly. Is a little bit of a wait to be seen that could be improved.

Nicki Greenfield Posted on Google 1 year ago

Negative experience: Leaves pets in pain, gets passed to multiple people / numbers with pdsa. Each person passing me to the next. Didn’t listen to what I was saying. I said it’s non emergency and they said ring the emergency line. Wouldn’t give me an appointment, I said my dogs in pain. This is an emergency out of hours and they refuse to give me an appointment after work hours despite being told by another staff member it’s an emergency. I’ve been trying to get help all day through dozens of people/companies. I even though about rehoming my dog but of course gables won’t take him and there best option is “euthanise” him. No wonder you hear of all these abandon animals because nobody wants to help. Luckily I’ve got a heart and love this poor boy

Matthew Williams Posted on Google 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: Could'nt of been more helpful wen we took our Staffie there.

Claire Jones Posted on Google 2 years ago

Fantastic experience: Took my Tigger and they were lovely and friendly :) Made me feel welcome xx

James Good Posted on Google 2 years ago

Negative experience: Saw my cat in November after taking £50 odd pounds of me for flea treatment that didn't work, I phoned them up to be told fleas are different in different areas of the UK, to now use their online service to ask for a different prescription brand and also get my cat in for an ear infection. One ear is hot one is cool. To be told to go private due to cut backs. If I could afford private I would be already going there already especially to avoid all this call centre stuff which I struggle to cope with due to my autism and disabilities. I get the feeling they just don't care like they once did. Even if an animal is suffering and your registered they mess you about. Its a shame as they used to be great. I won't be donating anymore money to them from now on unless they are of course seeing my pet when their unwell. What if it was more than just an ear infection? Would they let someone's pet suffer? I don't know in 2024? Pre covid I'd of said 100% no. People have less and less money to spend and these days people expect cut backs as it's starting to become the norm. But no vaccinations, no flea treatment and then fobbed off for an ear infection what are they going cut next. Itll get to the stage where it's pointless the Pdsa existing.

Freddy Posted on Google 2 years ago

Positive experience: Used to be great but they have cut services down and still keep cutting them.

Tigger Posted on Google 2 years ago

Fantastic experience: The staff couldn't be more friendlier, they work very hard in helping the public with their pets as they did with my poorly cat just the other day. I can't thank them enough for how they looked after my fur baby.

Dave Smith Posted on Google 2 years ago

Fantastic experience: Excellent, kind and very considerate and hospitable. Thank you to all who work for the PDSA.

Sharon Masters Posted on Google 2 years ago

Fantastic experience: Outstanding. All the staff were very patient, understanding and kind.

Miroslav Ševčík Posted on Google 2 years ago

Fantastic experience: Great animal hospital, and charity that actually doing their promise. Couldn’t recommend more. Sorted out my cat almost immediately. Looking better just after first day visit. You have to register online, and book in advance to see vet unless it is emergency. Low cost, and free vet treatment available for people with low income.

jane Posted on Google 2 years ago

Fantastic experience: Fabulous pet welfare charity. The vets and staff are all magnificent. Such an ethical organisation helping pets and their owners alike.

johanna “Jo” Perry Posted on Google 2 years ago

Positive experience: Staff are lovely. The only thing that I really didn't like is that it is impossible to talk to a real person on the phone or to book an appointment it all has to be done online.... Not great for the people who aren't good with technology

Shane Allcock Posted on Google 2 years ago

Fantastic experience: Very nice and helpful staff. Couldn't ask for anything better. I find pdsa was better than my own local private vets

Shiredale Jo Posted on Google 2 years ago

Negative experience: After so much trouble trying to get an appointment, to then nearly being charged £90 for a free pet! Now I can't get hold of them for a repeat prescription and they haven't given me my wormer/flea treatment so owe me £27 which is more than online! They got a donation from me too! I'm actually ringing right now and no one is answering! They r meant to b phoning me but I'm out of her pain meds now so I may even have to drive out again which isn't just fuel but the tamar bridge toll fee too! Not impressed at all! They won't even operate on her! Just let her suffer! Thanks! So stressed!

William Phillips Posted on Google 2 years ago

Fantastic experience: I tried to put 5 stars last time but it wouldn't let me It's Utterly Fantastic that's why I donate each month

Kristina Lazokova Posted on Google 2 years ago

Fantastic experience: Lovely staff were helpful when I brought my cat in. Got the help needed and is continuing to get the help needed. Amazing service couldn’t be more thankful.

BoH “PFT” H Posted on Google 2 years ago

Positive experience: Really appreciate that this service exists but it's way too inaccessible considering it's aimed to help people with low incomes/disabilities etc. I cannot afford a cab, most cabs don't take animals, I don't drive, can't walk/travel alone and it's a long way from a bus stop. I also wish they'd listened to me a bit more rather than different vets telling me different problems that turned out to be non existent. I spent a lot of stress, time and money getting to and from the place and had to get my pet treated somewhere else anyway when they didn't respond and their treatments didn't work. I always pay my way here (I know many people don't that is a problem for the charity) and I do appreciate the PDSA and it's work, however it would have saved a lot of time, money and illness if the original vet had listened to me properly.

Ross Jackson - Turland Posted on Google 2 years ago

Fantastic experience: Considering they are a charity, they deal with the crowds incredibly well. Great staff! I took my very poorly cat in and Paula, the vet we saw was fantastic! We saw an improvement within hours of bringing him home. Can’t thank Paula and the staff enough. Well done!

Jason Gammon Posted on Google 2 years ago

Fantastic experience: The Lady we spoke to was friendly welcoming, and made the sad situation nice and stress free.

Megan Hardy Posted on Google 2 years ago

Negative experience: Absolutely awful, they killed my friends cat yesterday by causing problems to his kidney! And today I rang due to my cat being stung by two wasps after being stung my cat was having a seizure and foaming from the mouth and the lady on the phone said they wouldn’t be able to get an appointment for 3 hours later even though it was clearly an emergency. The lady on the phone today at 12:00 would not give me her name due to her knowing full well that she was in the wrong absolutely disgusting! Totally would not recommend!!!

rigby rowland Posted on Google 2 years ago

Fantastic experience: Very helpful and knowledgeable staff. More than happy to donate extra funds. They provide an excellent service at a fraction of the going vets' rates. An Very worthy charity.

Will Sporne Posted on Google 2 years ago

Fantastic experience: Never fails to impress me, the care & compassion the staff show at PDSA. They are truly fantastic!

Alan Cheyne Posted on Google 2 years ago

Positive experience: I can't give pdsa less than 3 stars.....it wouldn't feel right. Let's just say they are under tremendous financial pressure. Not helped by reasonably well off people who think it's fine to bung them a tenner in return for some seriously expensive vetinary procedures. Shame on you! The reception staff aren't quite as friendly as they once were, and I'm not surprised

Jeanette Blair Posted on Google 2 years ago

Fantastic experience: I have two dogs registered with you one is poorly went today needs operation the vet and receptionist were amazing and I pay exactly what the bill requires your amazing I wish I could help in other ways as well Thankyou so much

Colin Whittred Posted on Google 2 years ago

Fantastic experience: Very kind , patient and understanding, I was worried sick about Alfie my lhasa thay put my mind at ease , cannot thank then enough

nick skinner Posted on Google 2 years ago

Negative experience: Long story short, my pet had an abscess drained and was supposed to receive antibiotics. The PDSA was very quick to take my money but not willing to provide adequate after care. Abscess has come back and they expect me to pay again. Very unprofessional.

rob deacon Posted on Google 2 years ago

Negative experience: Paid to join but told no doing dog busters to go to a out side vet so a bust ingestion with them £30 but I will have to pay £ 55 so they are quick enough to take money to join so not happy with them as struggling on a old age pensioner Sent

Fiona Taylor Posted on Google 2 years ago

Fantastic experience: Fab staff. Amazing kind vets. They are all here for tho benefit of your pet. Not to make money.

Alison Barraclough Posted on Google 2 years ago

Fantastic experience: Very fast service. Extremely friendly staff. Only took 45mins to dispense prescription from phone call for repeat.

davina strachan Posted on Google 3 years ago

Fantastic experience: Very friendly and helpful staff , nothing to much trouble ,you don't feel rushed with them ,take excellent care of pets ,good size car park which is free to park in ,very accessible for disabled visitors .also like how you told how much things will cost before you go ahead ,also very reasonable price definitely recommend them

Mike Colman (Cockney Mike.) Posted on Google 3 years ago

Fantastic experience: Lovely service from the vet we met there for our dog. And it helps people with low income to be able to keep their pets.

sean bowers Posted on Google 3 years ago

Negative experience: Not very good when a vet says they ain’t confident doing an opp on my dog. It’s what they are paid to do! Leaving her to die.

Liz Charlton Posted on Google 3 years ago

Fantastic experience: They dealt with my dogs death with understanding and clarity. I was treated with respect and courtesy. Thank you to the PDSA Plymouth

Elizabeth Fowler Posted on Google 3 years ago

Fantastic experience: We have just taken on Jessie she is an old dog and is so adorable. Without the support of these wonderful people, she would have been put to sleep. She is a rescue dog. So we will eternally be grateful to the lovely staff for allowing us to give her the best life ever

Susan Fraser Posted on Google 3 years ago

Fantastic experience: This was a very emotional visit knowing our beloved pooch wouldn't be coming home with us, all the staff were very kind, thoughtful and compassionate, we could spend as much time as we wanted we weren't rushed in anyway. They would look after Rocky until we made a decision. We cannot Thank them enough for their kindness and support.... Amazing people ❤️

Andrew Burgess Posted on Google 3 years ago

Fantastic experience: Amazing ,care for all your pets ❤️ 1st class service x well done

Michael Whitcher Posted on Google 3 years ago

Negative experience: Tried speaking to a human being no chance, was advised to use the Web page it's rubbish, and I thought the pdsa was a charity run for people who couldn't afford the stupidly high prices other vets charge.

Gordon Bevan Posted on Google 3 years ago

Fantastic experience: Really happy with how our cat was treated. Very caring vets and staff.

Shannon Jayne Posted on Google 3 years ago

Fantastic experience: Had problems with my dogs back giving up and the staff were fantastic as always. We were incredibly grateful to be seen the week before Christmas

Fantastic experience: Our beagle jack has been licking his paws obsessively and made them sore. After 6 weeks of trying everything to no avail we took him to the PDSA hospital and they sorted him straight out with the medication he needed and a lot of love. Five stars to all the staff, amazing service and people

Lisa Rogers Posted on Google 3 years ago

Fantastic experience: Absolutely fantastic Vet's, called the morning for an emergency appointment, got there for 8.30 and we were seen by 9.15 Absolutely Amazing Receptionists, kind, helpful and friendly, made us feel so at ease, especially as being registered is a yearly service and ours ran out in August. The Receptionist helped by reregeristing us there and then. The vet who saw to our dog Monty was so kind and caring she truly put us at ease over what was wrong with Monty. So we want to say a big Thank You From Lisa, Keith and of course Monty. An Absolutely, Amazing, Fantastic Service is provided by the PDSA

Susan Wilson Posted on Google 3 years ago

Fantastic experience: Fantastic place and the staff are amazing too.they show so much love and dedication to the animals!!

Nigel Stanley Posted on Google 3 years ago

Fantastic experience: Unbelievable treatment and kindness shown to our old dog who sadly has a falling heart condition. We had tried 2 other local practices following our move to Plymouth and simply could not afford to continue with the required treatment costs and prescription medication. My Wife chanced upon an article in a National Newspaper and pointed it out to me and they (PDSA) were able to take us on as a Client due to an unexpected change in our circumstances. We are so grateful for the care and attitude shown by all the staff and in particular the Vet (Katie)that treated our elderly dog . A superb service and we are very very grateful.

Ah’La Mitchell Posted on Google 3 years ago

Fantastic experience: Always had a great job done in all operating situations and even though its a wait at times it is charity ran so this is understandable. One dog of mine has had problems with knee dislocation and Star had 3 major ops to help. All went well and her care was top quality, as was the ops needed by my other dog Tilly. Cannot fault them and the building is always clean and the reception staff always trying to do their best in a veterinary setting which is always busy and relying on donation. Very thankful for the care of my two Fur babies!

Nigel Eggar Posted on Google 3 years ago

Fantastic experience: Such a lovely place where they take care of your family pets but people do need to donate to keep these places up and running

Mike Smith Posted on Google 3 years ago

Positive experience: Ok have a problem. I'm a courier paid for what I now know was an illegal breeder. I earn too much, I'm unable to use their services. Frustrated by benefit users making large sums from their services. GDPR stops me from giving data. Albeit, I'm a DEFRA registered pet transporter. I've made several trips over the years with very ill animals knowing they come back healthy and well. They do a great job.

mandy deane Posted on Google 3 years ago

Fantastic experience: Brilliant vets. They saved my boys life. Its not free though. Think some people think it's free, you have pets you pay for them. I always pay what they ask or nearest to the amount. They are a charity who love animals

Averil Pinckney Posted on Google 3 years ago

Fantastic experience: The team were amazing yesterday when I had to take Norman , he didn’t make it easy for the vet to examine him, fingers crossed he gets better soon xx

Jeffery Tapp Posted on Google 3 years ago

Fantastic experience: Wonderful staff, especially considering you are visiting for your pets ill health. Conscientious and sympathetic. Highly recommended.

tobi blake Posted on Google 3 years ago

Fantastic experience: When our little boy, Tiggy, was taken in after falling ill the staff were amazing. Unfortunately it was discovered he had severe cancer but the staff did everything they could to make him comfortable. He passed away but we know they did everything they could.

Sarah Bowditch Posted on Google 3 years ago

Fantastic experience: Only had to collect medicine which is on repeat prescription but staff (as usual) very efficient, friendly and polite.

Tara Beavis Posted on Google 3 years ago

Fantastic experience: Took my cat there on a Sun so emergencies only but was told to come up as I was worried was a very sad day but the Vet was very considerate thoughtful . Amazing as they really care about Aninals that are brought in

Charlene Osborn Posted on Google 3 years ago

Fantastic experience: They work very hard for our pets. My chihuahua whose been with me for a year needed teeth removed, they took great care of her and gave me good after care advice.. she is alot happier now plus her breath doesn't stink anymore

D d Posted on Google 3 years ago

Positive experience: It's easy to get appointment or talk to doctor, staff is very friendly, place clean. The only problem is waiting time. Even if you're booked for specific time you need to wait about one hour or so

Jenny Bain Posted on Google 3 years ago

Fantastic experience: After taking my poorly dog to a local vet and him not checking my dog properly and missing the obvious signs he was ill and in pain with fluid around his body , I rushed my dog to the pdsa , within 5 minutes they knew what was wrong and sadly I had to put my best friend to sleep , due to being very ill , pdsa where very supporting and I couldn't of ask for better care of my dog , evening after he was put to sleep the staff where amazing Thank you pdsa on the hardest day of my life- you where there for us when we needed you Thank tou so much xx

Anne-marie Beard Posted on Google 4 years ago

Fantastic experience: Bear, My 13 year old puddy, has been in the wars. Recently, he was attacked by a Squirrel, in which he lost a front fang and had numerous, serious lacerations the whole of his left neck. Bear was straight in ASAP. I was so worried for him. What a lovely, understanding staff that work here. But the biggest reasureness i felt came from The Vet. They put me at ease right there. Bear had to have a operation on his teeth and put on medication for his neck. He's all better now! I want to say, Thank You Again.

Sarah Lou N Posted on Google 4 years ago

Beverley Stemson Posted on Google 4 years ago

Fantastic experience: We had a hood experience, our dog will now have his operation, and i wont feel too stressed about it, stafff were friendly and helpful,

Gary Bailey Posted on Google 4 years ago

Negative experience: Not very good only doing selected ops my dog has prolapse virgina and I was told that's not possible to operate on her due to covid restrictions but restrictions have stopped completely but there still not returning things back to normal. To make things worse I was told I could always go private. If only I could no funds.

Diane Kenneford Posted on Google 4 years ago
