Our comment from InfoVet about Cardiff PDSA Pet Hospital:

Cardiff PDSA Pet Hospital is a highly regarded veterinary service dedicated to providing exceptional care to pets in need. Many users highlight the compassionate and friendly staff who are always willing to assist with questions and concerns. Visitors appreciate that the hospital is worth the journey, even for those who have to travel from afar, due to the quality of care provided.

Positive experiences often mention:

  • Kind and supportive veterinary team.
  • Urgent care for pets provided promptly.
  • Attention to detail in treatment and communication.
  • Commitment to helping pets from low-income families.
  • High-quality service backed by a charity model, allowing for donations rather than standard fees.

However, several reviews indicate areas for improvement, particularly regarding:

  • Inconsistent customer service at the reception, with some users reporting rudeness or lack of responsiveness.
  • Long waiting times during busy periods, which can be distressing for anxious pet owners and their pets.
  • Instances of miscommunication about treatment options and costs, leading to frustration for pet owners.

Overall, while there are some criticisms, the commendable dedication to animal welfare and the positive experiences shared by many clients underscore the importance of Cardiff PDSA Pet Hospital in the community.

Negative experience: Last night we found our rabbit bleeding from his eyes and called PDSA they told us to bring him down to be seen straight away. He was seen as soon as we walked in, and the vet was very polite, and took him out back to check. Another vet then came in, told us what had happened and what they would do. When the first vet came back she told us some different things to the vet who just came in, and things were only cleared up because we asked enough questions. For example, the vet that “explained” what was going on failed to mention that there was no gut movement, and the other vet told us then that this is what they were most concerned about. While on the phone before we left to go the vet, they told us that there’s no fees but they expect a donation or “whatever you can afford”. At this point we were relieved as we didn’t have much money to spare. When we were then called at reception they gave us some lubricant for his eye and pain killers. They told us that he couldn’t have the pain killers until the next day, but told us that we needed to go and buy a certain food that he needed to eat as soon as possible (dissolved through a syringe). We were then billed almost £100 after being told on the phone that it was free and providing proof of our benefits. My mother who was at reception at the time (I had run to the car) expressed that she was quite concerned about paying considering that this food was going to also cost us £30+, money that we don’t have spare. The woman behind the desk replied “is he not worth that money?” We paid the bill but asked if they had any food on site that they could spare just one or two servings as we may not even get our hands on it at the shop either, and the same woman claimed that this was stealing if we didn’t pay for it. After some time she gave in and gave us one serving and we made our way back home. We gave our rabbit everything we were allowed to give him from the vet, and we woke up this morning and he hasn’t made it through the night. I understand that they can’t save every pet, but considering they made me pay for a pain killer and he didn’t even live long enough to take it. Our boy was in so much pain, and if there was such a high chance of him dying they didn’t offer us any type of euthanasia, and im trying not to believe that it was to get our last pennies from us.

Negative experience: I got 2 rabbits that both need spaying. 1 male 1 female and they cannot be together due to this. I am waiting for assistance from what i understand to be a charity but it took me over a year to get registered!... In the meantime i am watching my 2 rabbits mental health decline as they want to socialise but instead they need to be seperated in a small pen! This has been months now but gaurenteed people with 1 pet are getting priority (i believe pairs should be done 1st in order to have them socialise just how rabbits should be living!!) My female is even injuring herself in order to put her nose through the bars to be groomed by the male. What am i supposed to do? Watch them deteriorating, Thanks pdsa.

Fantastic experience: All the staff were amazing from the receptionist to the vet - I had to accompany my Mother to have her dog Tootsie put to sleep - we were informed every step of the way and the vet and nurse were extremely kind and thoughtful. Both I and my Mother appreciated all the kindness that we and Tootsie were shown.

Negative experience: Bad bad place and no help from staff over the phone. This place needs to get more/new staff

Darren Smith Posted on Google 5 months ago

Fantastic experience: Our dog needed an emergency surgery due to a blocked intestine and usual vets didn't have any oxygen. PDSA didn't quibble about performing the operation and it was a complete success. Everyone was absolutely amazing and genuinely showed affection to our dog and were very informative with whole procedure and showed great compassion as they new how worried we were. Can never thank you enough for what you did to save our little treasure.

Fantastic experience: When I needed help with my dog they were there. Reception staff, vet nurses and vets were all helpful and I’d like to thank them all. They rely on donations so anything you can afford when you go to see them is put to good use.

Negative experience: If I could give 0 I would I know its a charity but what a let down . Absolutely disgusting vets Not only did I have to put my 12 year old dog to sleep But I wanted her cremated on her own to have her ashes back .they only cremated her with other dogs . Witch wernt my wishes. And not only that when I first rang them to get appointment she told me she was already on the system as deceased Really bad experience with cardiff pdsa Would never use them again Run free my girl ❤️

Negative experience: This hospital let my kitten die. I know it’s a charity run by donations, but I don’t think I can go back after this for my other cat. I rang the emergency service at 6:17am on 16/07/25 for an appointment for my 10 week old kitten. He had a week of diarrhoea and vomiting. I got told he isn’t really classed as a serious emergency for out of hours and to call back at 9am when the whole practice opens. I rang back, the receptionist told me the vet advised to put him on a bland diet of chicken and rice. He had an appointment made for Monday 18/07/25, which was still 2 days away. My kitten died Sunday morning. I believe the vet failed my kitten. I knew my kitten was slowly getting worse, and as a vet, should prioritise a declining kitten. If he had an appointment earlier, he could have been saved. I believe something should be done about this, this cannot be ignored.

Negative experience: We brought our cat in because he was very weak, not eating or drinking, sleeping everywhere, not grooming, and not going outside. No diagnostic tests like blood work, x-rays, or heart checks were done, and we were sent home. Sadly, his condition was serious and he passed away shortly after. While the staff were polite, I would recommend seeking a second opinion if your pet shows unusual or severe symptoms.

Fantastic experience: Wonderful staff, brilliant treatment for a stray cat that somehow adopted us

Natasha Webber Posted on Google 8 months ago

Negative experience: If I could give 0 star I would.. But PDSA did not give valid explanation to why my mini Doxi died.. Change their story alot. Medical history paper work to be ridiculous not even make sense and be told "we aren't judged on our grammar" When I argued the facts of what happend..they then decided "actually your dog came in to us in critical condition" .. In which she did not.. But So critical mind no one checked on her for 5 hours whilst she died all alone because they only had two vets in and they were in with a different dog. But the fact of the matter is.. My dog went in to the pdsa to have a scan and never came home. Never got to see her puppies. Never got to at least feel safe whilst she was at end of her life..She was only critical After they cut her open and took out her babies and her womb away. She went in for a scan due to a long three days labour.. where the we were told the scan was showing were 4 pups and one had died and was blocking the canal and causing infection and could be toxic to winnie and the other three puppies.. The puppies were showing heart rates of 130 vet low for puppies.. That was the reason we had to have an emergency c section only then to be told we are also taking her womb whilst she is under because we don't support breeding (not that we bred her on purpose but if we did it shouldn't be a reason to treat us this way) We were also told if we didn't agree they would not operate on her..(but again she was so critical that they'd turn her away if we disagreed) To top it off there was no dead puppy, we have 4 of them home and thriving. They originally told us she had an reaction to anesthetic. But at 9:15 we were told she could come home she was lifting her head and looking around but they wanted to keep an eye on her if we didn't mind leaving her overnight and paying some night fees to keep her. Obviously we didn't mind paying anything to make sure she was looked after properly so agreed as they said that was best. NOW they've told me after the senior vet reviewed the notes and talking to the vets who operated on her unfortunately they had to leave her ALONE for almost 5 hours after a major surgery as only two vets were in and had another emergency.. As this dog was more critical than mine .In which I fully understand but surely there should be another vet or at least someone popping out to see my girl who had major surgery?? Bearing in mind at the start of this phone call she told me they had 14 Vets and two Senior Vets at the PDSA CARDIFF and they were very busy that night.. So why couldn't another one come in why only have a vet and nurse, there were already 2 emergency c Sections taking place? Is that not enough for at least one more member of staff to keep an eye on my recovering dog and any other animals there seeing as they were so busy? Then proceeded to go on about cost. As we only had to pay almost £500 not including over night fees etc and we should be lucky it was that cheap. I understand that but my feeling is they essentially neglected my dog and then through their own admission let her die after leaving her ALONE for around 5 hours.. As soon as those pups were out of her, they got us to go get them and leave her I do understand the risks to anesthetic and all operations could go wrong but truth of the matter is my girl didn't need that section due to a dead puppy as there was not one. I also understand they don't "condone breeding" but that extra procedure they gave my dog which I could not decline if I wanted to or they wouldn't operate which I personally think was to much for her. My baby girl, layed on her own dying for five hours in critical condition due to them, No checks, no medication if needed. Not even a stroke on her head. No puppies, No family. Why didn't they say to me yes bring her home we can't give her what she needs? At least then if she would of died being at home and being looked after. Alot of people have told me they've had similar experiences and I am taking this further. Shame on the PDSA, they aren't for pets they're for profit.

Fantastic experience: They were all brilliant, very polite. They helped us with our 12-year-old Bedlington terrier, making our pup feel comfortable whilst she was there. The vet took time to understand the issues that our pup is going through and explained what the next steps were for her. They're worth the donation for the service they provide. They're all very kind and empathetic people and will do anything to help.

Negative experience: My dog was brought in last night in labour was told if she was struggling they would help she had low heart rate and pups were struggling, the woman who was working told us they won’t waste there effort on a dog like her, they turned us away even after seeing her struggling to breathe, now this morning she has been rushed into a c-section with life threatening towards her and her pups so thank you to the woman last night

Negative experience: (Updated!!) After basically being neglected by the pdsa, sadly my boy had to he put to sleep 6 weeks after first phonecall, left with an infection that was so close to his brain running a temperature over 40 and very unwell. Told to squeeze his nose until he cant breath and with force put tablets down his throat, (obviously we didnt) few hours later he was gone. Appointments cancelled, refused pain relief the list goes on. And on his final visit, both veins in his legs blown, and the vet told myself and my daughter we were putting pressure on her because we were so upset, he was sedated in my arms then taken out the back to be injected in heart. We were then told if you want proof he's dead ill bring him back out! I told her I would like him brought back out to say goodbye a horrendous time made 100 times worse, complained and a sorry email was it. If you love your pets avoid at all costs!! My boy taken too soon because of neglect!! Used to have so much respect for this hospital and staff, always donate and got a fundraising pack to go that bit further and help, but sadly this last fortnight it's been awful. My dog has a raging ear infection, when I first rang the lady was so rude on the phone because it was a Friday night. And they are short staffed. He was eventually seen 5 days later, they swabbed him and told me there was so much blood they couldn't see if the eardrum was intact, wait 5 days for the swab to come back and go from there. Long story short they have failed to respond to me on both occasions they said they would, and the vet will try and ring me tomorrow, if not wed and so on. All the while his ear is oozing with blood and pus and we're 10 days later.

Negative experience: took my cat in today for a urinary blockage and they left me in the waiting room for over an hour while he was in pain. Then they suggested putting him down because he'd been catheterised (privately) twice before. I took him to my private vet who's doing the PU operation which the PDSA vets said they couldn't do. If I hadn't have gone to the pdsa first they might have tried medical intervention again but they wasted my time and made it worse He's 7 and perfectly healthy just had a blockage and the catheter has caused scaring and issues which is not uncommon at all. The fact they left him in that room in pain for so long and never intended to treat him is awful. Edit: updating my review to say that I sent a complaint into pdsa back in January and I am still awaiting a response.

Fantastic experience: I had to take my 13year old wirehaired Fox terrier to the PDSA as he was dieing from a tumor on his kidneys it happened so quickly as the Day before he was running around with his partner but in that night he had totally lost control of his functions so I stayed up with him all night and then took him to the PDSA on a Saturday morning we're they took great care of my boy and I cannot thank them enough for their time thanking them for his final moments being out of pain I now donate five pounds a week so they can carry on their good work.yours very sincerely MR ROBERT WILLIAMS.

Negative experience: Rang up this evening (8th April 2025) as we were desperate to get our dog seen to who is a one year old French bulldog, we were begging for some sort of help over the phone to get her seen to and all we were told is if we take her there the only option is she gets put to sleep! Highly disappointed as these are animal care workers! The lady on the phone had zero compassion I expected better from animal care workers!

Would also like to say thank you so much for today with my little dog marko and for your help being able to talk to the vets . I hope the better contribution helps and paid for the vet consultation as it would with a normal vet as couldn’t just give a small donation you all are amazing thank you

Vanessa Aleksandrova Posted on Google 1 year ago

Negative experience: They refused my 9 week old puppy care and wouldn’t even see him when I told them he has bloody diarrhoea for days and is vomiting. Absolutely appalling, I called yesterday and they told me to call today if it carries on to come in, I did and they still refused him care. It’s the weekend now so nothing else is open so I have to wait until Monday for my puppy to be seen. Furthermore, the receptionist was so rude and moody from the get go, very poor customer service.

Fantastic experience: Again to the rescue of my friends cat. She has the low rate vet care with them and is grateful for the service. Thanks PDSA without you many more people would have no choice either than to give up their furbabies.

Fantastic experience: The staff are professional but caring and friendly, helpful and understanding and the care they gave to my dog was fantastic, worth their weight in gold.

Gareth R Davies (Quixote) Posted on Google 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: Our dog ate a load of cooked onion and garlic, and being a wee slip of a pup, when we called to check what the vet thought, they said to come straight down. This was 8pm of a Saturday night! Remember, alliums are toxic to dogs and could result in kidney failure! The on-call emergency vet was calm, sensible and professional, and despite it all costing us over £170 pounds quid, our pup came home well and happy. They were great, and we're very grateful.

Negative experience: Had so much respect for this place donated hundreds but today we was 5 minutes late for an appointment due to traffic and the attuide we had! Was also told they would not see us! We live an hour away. Couldnt get through to let them know by phone either! Staff need a change of attuide looking down their nose at people. Awful people!!!

Negative experience: Disorganised money orientated and rude. Vets, receptionists and nurses. Don’t know why they bother working there if they hate their jobs so much. Pets aren’t the priority. Communication dreadful.

Fantastic experience: Always fast professional and very helpful. Haven't had a single worker be a moody person or someone having an off day. Every time great conversations with everyone that comes in. They also adore every animal that is set in front of them. Would Recommend

Nikki Cunvin Posted on Google 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: I've taken several of my pets there and they're wonderful.

Amy Richards Posted on Google 1 year ago

Negative experience: No care, compassion or sympathy. Rude vet nurse who ‘cared’ for my sick dog the day she passed. My dog was a normally healthy happy 7 year old small dog. She has been failed by this Pdsa, from the first instance when I took her in as an emergency and the vet diagnosed her with fleas and sent me away with a flea pipette. This wasn’t true and my dog’s blood cells were dropping significantly and she worsened over night, of course. It was all too late. Very poor service, leaving me and my child traumatised and grieving like never imagined.

Paul Hillier Posted on Google 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: Fantastic care given to Molly for her Cystectomy.

M V Posted on Google 1 year ago

Negative experience: Awful service ! The old lady on reception is rude, interrupts people when they are trying to talk and argues with you. Took my cat in today due to a lump under his eye that had been there for 2 weeks (I salt watered it for a week and a half to see if it would go down by itself because his mood hadn’t changed and he was still eating and acting fine as the vets always use this as a rating factor for if your query is urgent or not) anyways, I finally got a appointment after no replies to my email of the photo I sent of my cats eye because the receptionist refused to give me appointment without sending photos first. Got to my appointment today, waited 2 hours for the vet to sit there stroking my cat while I tell her about the lump and told her it was not affecting his mood or eating. She straight away told me that they were too busy to deal with lumps that aren’t seriously affecting the animal and that they aren’t even doing biopsies on them unless they are serious and to go to a private vet. I asked if she thought it was serious or cancerous and she said she wouldn’t know with doing a biopsy which they refuse to do. I was livid as I could have been told this by the receptionist when she refused me an appointment and asked me to send images. I paid £24 for a ‘consultation’ which I actually paid for a vet to stroke my cat because no consultation was given and I could of been told this information before wasting my time, money and an appointment that could have been used for another animal in need. BUT THEY ARE CHARITY BASED GUYS SO ITS GROUDS FOR EVERYONE TO ACT LIKE CON ARTISTS !!! I asked the receptionist to speak to a manager after this and she started arguing with me about the situation when I asked to speak to manager about it! I will never take any of my pets here again. GO PRIVATE IF YOU CAN AFFORD IT, this is not the first time I’ve been dissatisfied with the service I have received

Fund Your Wedding Posted on Google 1 year ago

Negative experience: My cat is in urgent need of an xray, I was told that there xray machine isn't working so I should put my cat down. She's only 11. Why would I put my cat down when I don't even know what's wrong?! PDSA promote their services online saying they provide scans and xrays to animals in need but can't actually provide the service so it feels like they are scamming the public to donate to a good cause they are unable or unwilling to provide?!

Sue White Posted on Google 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: Unfortunately our beloved pet Angus was diagnosed with a tumour. We decided to be the best pet parents we could be and arranged for Angus to go to sleep forever. The PDSA throughout this whole tragic experience were absolutely amazing whilst being extremely caring and efficient. They assisted us with every option available and letting us make our own decisions. They took great care during Angus appointments and his final visit there. Their compassion for both Angus and us was endearing and flawless. We cannot thank them enough for being so kind during this tragic time.

Ben Hutchings Posted on Google 1 year ago

Negative experience: Good price. But you are paying what you get. Cheaper price for lesser service. Seemed to give minimal effort.

Josh Posted on Google 1 year ago

Negative experience: Awful service! Rude receptionist had been against them seeing our very poorly cat all week! Turned into an emergency and a VET told us overnight to call and book her in asap at 8.30am when their books open, to be told NO by the receptionist who then started her shift! Why is this receptionist going against the vet we spoke to overnight? We told her our cat couldn’t walk, kept falling over due to not eating and being weak and her foot turning into just flesh to be told in a patronising way ‘do you know the difference between life and death?’ Thankfully these calls are recorded and will be investigated. A formal complaint has been made and luckily our cat has been seen elsewhere and is on the road to recovery.

Emma Jeffs Posted on Google 1 year ago

Negative experience: Despite us begging for our beautiful Lucy to be seen, she was dying, she wasn't old, she started squirting blood from her bottom. We sent videos, pictures, she went limp and we begged and begged for someone to see her. She will be fine said the vet. More phone calls as she deteriorated so quickly, "no no no she will be fine" treated like we didn't know nothing and we were being dramatic. An hour later she died in my arms. This was a month ago and I am still breaking everyday. I don't now what to do without my Lucy and you didn't listen and didn't care!!!!! You could of just looked at her, no you said. Most dreadful place and how they can say they "save all animals" is a complete farce. We will never have her and you go home to what, your happy family. Well.... well done to you guys. My family is broken because of your ignorance. We hate you and hope you feel what I now feel!!!

Cal Posted on Google 1 year ago

Negative experience: Absolutely nightmare trying to get someone on the phone, not sure if I'm still registered, as I've not been there in a few years and having new pet now, website just sends you around in circles trying to contact to see if I can get my dog neuted, and if I'm still registered or not, used to be a great service a few years ago seriously gone down hill, they are just thinking of the money now after all it is a business…

Fantastic experience: I took a stray kitten to them, which was very ill and not eating. They gave her an injection and some eye drops, but unfortunately, she died a week later due to a possible birth defect. Thanks for trying to help her. She was a lovely little kitten.

Fantastic experience: I am always happy whenever I do need to come here. And exceptionally grateful to anyone I have seen. Everyone is always very pleasant and polite from the vet's down to the receptionist. I don't understand how anyone can possibly give them anything less than 5* unless some kind of gross negligence took place. And am really shocked at the reviews that they have. I have had the misfortune during COVID myself of having to wait more than 4 or 5 hours past my appointment time to be seen. But it is what it is at the end of the day. What would people prefer?? For someone else's pet to bleed out and die so your appointment time can be kept?? And I heard the way the staff were spoken too and the abuse that they had to take and rise above from, far to many times that day. And all you need is vaccinations??? With your £4,000 dog!!! I have a very sick cat who has had endless problems with food allergies and they have been amazing with him. I made myself really ill when he started to decline and lose more than half his body weight in the beginning. I could never have met the cost of going to a normal vet. And I will be eternally grateful for all the help that they have given me and continue to give me.... Always!

Negative experience: I had an urgent situation with my dog, who was in pain and constantly sick. I called Cardiff PDSA Pet Hospital for help as they were the closest option. Unfortunately, the receptionists were rude and turned me away, citing a distance radius policy. Despite my plea for assistance, they showed little care or willingness to offer guidance on where to seek help. This experience was disheartening, and I wouldn’t trust them with my pets even if I lived in their vicinity. A disappointing lack of empathy and professionalism. The fact you can just turn away a sick dog so easily explains itself. (Late update: my best friend passed away the that same night, I know something could of been done if we wasn’t turned away. Sickening people)

Sue Payne Posted on Google 2 years ago

Fantastic experience: This PDSA pet hospital is wonderful. The staff are considerate to both pets and owners. They go out of their way to make the pet and owner feel confident.

Fantastic experience: I can’t thank PDSA Cardiff enough. I had to have my beautiful boy put to sleep on the 2nd of march and the women handling my boy was absolutely amazing. She made sure he was kept with his blanket and gave me prints of his paw and nose. The vet was also so patient as I couldn’t bring myself to let it happen. We received my dog home today and the box he came in was absolutely gorgeous and so thoughtful of the PDSA. Thank you for everything you guys do. And thank you for making sure my baby got home safe.

Fantastic experience: Thank you for helping us out today. Sadly our puss was unabke to be cured, but we were handled sensitively and professionally. A hard decision, but we were given time to process it, and felt reassured all the way through.

Fantastic experience: I can't thank the staff here enough. We called in desperate need of an urgent appointment for our 8 month old french bulldog Martha-May. The reception staff were extremely helpful and very kindly booked us in straight away. From start to finish, the veterinary team was extremely attentive to Martha-May and could not do enough for her and us. All staff provided a professional and friendly service. We can not recommend the PDSA enough, and I would kindly ask for people to donate any old blankets or towels you may have as they are always in need of these items. Once again, thank you to all the staff of the PDSA cardiff.

Fantastic experience: Our cat was euthanised at this clinic due to cancer and the vet and nurses were so empathetic and patient during this hard time, thank you for looking after her and letting us enjoy her last moment

Fantastic experience: Very helpful, caring, thoughtful place. When you're on a low income it guarantees your pet can have treatment Very caring if you lose your pet.

Positive experience: this is a vet service for people on low incomes or unemployed. It is a charity service, but a donation of around £30+ is mandatory wen vets used. Decent clean friendly place with 3 vets/trainee vets available 7 days a week. Basic vets that treat people's pet. Only 2 pets allowed to b registered with hosp per person. No specialist vet. Basic problems for cats/dogs and other popular/main pets. No avian vet and no vet working that day could diagnose or tell me wots going on with my parrot. All they could do was examine and guess. Didn't want my parrot to b stressed any longer than needed so found an avian specialise in same area. Lot more money but could help parrot. So basic and general problems only is best.

Fantastic experience: Food delicious, atmosphere fantastic

Negative experience: The receptionist was abrupt to the point of rude when we really needed help, these people are ment to care about pets yet they wouldn't help my very sick dog sadly we had to get her put to sleep with a vet that actually cared I am beyond disgusted with the PDSA and after the way we were treated, i would never wish anyone to be treated the way were especially when you have to make hard decisions about your pet.

Negative experience: Not a good place to have your pet put to sleep. Took my pet rat there and the vet was awful. Nearly dropped him, hadno idea what to do with him . He needed to be put to sleep quickly as suffering but he took so long doing paperwork which I understand they have to do but he had no idea. It took an hour in total!

Fantastic experience: Always great with my dog. Never a problem seeing a vet. Clean as well. Glad they put cats in a seperate part. Stops them getting anxious.

Fantastic experience: Amazing place, they helped so much when I had to bring my sons dog there to be pts. Thank you all so much for making Zeus last moments as easy as possible.

Positive experience: I phoned here. I told them my dog was unwell to be told we wasn't in right area for funding. They told me to ring my vet back and tell them they had duty of care. We was seen then my dog had a stroke. He is recovering well

lois taylor Posted on Google 2 years ago

Negative experience: Brought my dog down who was experiencing toxin ingestion and was turned away for over an hour whilst my dog was foaming at the mouth, seizing, being sick and having diarrhoea all whilst not being able to stand up. Was told to drive her over an hour away on the motorway to another out of hours as all the PDSA could offer me was euthanisation. I was asking for help for over a hour as my dogs condition worsened, they told me they knew what it was and how to treat it but wouldn’t, it took them until I couldn’t even lift my dog to put her in my car due to the seizures she was having and the sickness and diarrhoea to finally allow her to stay the night there on a drip. My dog now is suffering from extreme liver damage and potential future liver failure which I can’t help but think could’ve been prevented had they acted when I got there rather than ignoring us. They’re quick enough to take donations off people like me and say they do it out of the love they have for animals, clearly not. I am absolutely disgusted with the way we were treated and the fact I had to practically BEG for my dog to be helped when there was nobody else waiting is unbelievable.

Positive experience: The work these guys do is amazing and they’re ready to help sick animals at the drop of a hat. However the receptionists can be a bit pushy, and badger you for donations. I get that they need donations to keep the hospital running but they hound you every time. I bet even the postman gets asked for a donation every morning. Maybe cut back on letting people on benefits use the service if you’re gonna ask every tom, dyck and harry for a donation.

Fantastic experience: There are no words to express my gratitude to the staff and facilities MIRACLE,my baby is fighting fit after having major surgery. In times of desperation thank goodness for PDSA!!

Lora Richards Posted on Google 2 years ago

Fantastic experience: Thank you to the wonderful staff here, sadly our oldest malamute whistler had cancer which we didn't know about and let him go with dignity and they supported my partner while I was with our little boy, you were so truly amazing and supportive thank you

Barbara Court Posted on Google 2 years ago

Negative experience: Devastated by the poor service my cat received here. Multiply visits stating my cat was drinking lots of water, bad teeth and weight loss. Each time I was told they had lack of funding “we are a charity” and was told to come back if it gets worse. Each visit resulted in panic attacks; urination, extreme crying, panting. She died last Friday in pain. Shame on you. The only thing PDSA gave my cat was fleas, worms and neglect. My late aunt donated her house to PDSA. Shame on all of you!

Fantastic experience: 5* very thankful for Saving our dog, keep up the great work. Pets at home can go and do one, as they are just after money and wanted to put are dog down xx

Helen Jones Posted on Google 2 years ago

Fantastic experience: We had our 14 year old Husky Chanah put to sleep there today as she had a huge cancerous cyst that had burst. They were amazing, so kind and caring and they couldn't do enough. Chanah just fell asleep in my partner's hands. We gave a £50 donation to help with the cost of keeping them running. I hope that everyone gives a donation to help. Photo of Chanah taken before taking her to the PDSA today.

Fantastic experience: The care and understanding I received from all the staff involved with my chihuahua with a spinal injury was exceptionally thorough and very professional. Especially Julia Molga, who only took a minute to diagnosis a spinal injury. It's going to be a long road but knowing I can turn to them for medication helps .thank you so much

Fantastic experience: Amazing with my dogs, couldn't ask for better treatment, they've gone out of there way. When private companies trying to do unnecessary treatments etc!. From bottom of our hearts thankyou so, so much. Always friendly and down to earth too xx

Daniel Moreton Posted on Google 2 years ago

Positive experience: How do you bad mouth a vet hospital that works off charity. Be prepared to wait atleast an hour if longer. Nice vets. Clean and mostly friendly. Only been twice and the second time there was a rude vet having a go a people who hadn't gotten their dogs weighed before being consulted. first visit we was forgotten and waited 2hrs before a vet had noticed how long we hand been there and made an enquiry and that was only because our dog had the same name as someone who arrived 45mins and was called in before us. we also had gone to reception and asked and they had said we was on the list. Then the vet told us we wasn't. So if it wasn't for these guys working off donations I would one star them.

cbear 96 Posted on Google 3 years ago

Fantastic experience: Amazing vets I would be lost without them. You have to call or email to get an appointment it's donation only, and they say £20 but you can give more or less depending on your situation (this is for people on benefits/disability)

Lydia David Posted on Google 3 years ago

Positive experience: Had to have my very poorly guinea pig PTS on Monday unfortunately, but staff were professional yet compassionate. I was able to stay with her and comfort her until she went to sleep and was given time with her before they took her out the back to give the final injection

Sarah Clarke Posted on Google 3 years ago

Negative experience: My dog was very poorly on Good Friday, my vets were closed and the emergency vet wanted £300 just to see him which is outrageous! I called the PDSA as I knew they would be open and i was more than happy to pay. I was basically told that as I was registered with a vet despite them being closed that I would just have to fork out the £300 as they were busy enough already! Disgusting attitude! A client willing to pay full cost and not just a donation and turning away a dog in need . Thanks for nothing PDSA.
