Vets Now Lincoln provides out-of-hours emergency veterinary care for dogs, cats and small animals. Opened in 2006, our dedicated emergency vets and registered veterinary nurses are here for you during nights, weekends, and bank holidays.

The RCVS has accredited Vets Now Lincoln – Small Animal Emergency Service Clinic (ESC). This accreditation reflects the clinic’s ability to handle emergency and critical care cases without an appointment, so you can feel confident that your pet is receiving the best care when it matters most.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic vets, they really looked after our dog Friday evening. Bambi is doing really well since our visit and she can put pressure on her leg again. Still limited exercise and being carried up and down the stairs but she is doing amazing well. Thank you so much for looking after her

Negative experience: Absolutely shocking weekend fee to see a vet! I think its disgusting that anyone should be forced to pay £313 to see a vet, with treatment on top to help their pet.

Positive experience: Outstanding professionalism, dedication and care shown by the whole team at 1.45am. Thank you to the Vets Now team in Hykeham. My only negative - the extremely high cost for the visit. Luckily I am insured, but how do you afford that amount of money if not. I worry about people leaving animals in pain overnight as they just can't afford it.

Fantastic experience: Service was amazing, it was out of hrs and the staff were so polite and helpful, had alot of knowledge and was very understanding and true. The price for out of hrs On the other hand was very expensive and costly and had to be paid there and then which was tricky for us but had to be done. But the practice and staff were amazing

Positive experience: The nurses that we saw and the vet were very helpful and professional and were able to confirm no problem with our little dog. But this out of hours service is eye-wateringly expensive with a huge standing charge just to be seen regardless of any treatment required. As I say, good service but at a huge cost.

Negative experience: We had to go to this vets as it was out of hours. As soon as we arrived with our poorly collie, a vet nurse took some details and went out to the back, where we heard laughing and screaming from the other nurses, very unprofessional. She came back and told us she would muzzle my dog and take her out the back for an injection to calm her down until the vet was ready to see her. I refused and stated I didn’t feel comfortable and wanted to wait for the vet to assess my dog before any treatment. I then got a lecture from another vet nurse on why all dogs have to be muzzled, my dog has never been muzzled or taken out the back at her usual vets. She was shouting at me in the reception. I broke down into tears as the situation was so awful. We finally saw the vet and got her anti sickness and pain relief. Highly recommend our usual Vets for pets on Tritton road they are much better and nicer people.

Negative experience: This is not the first time I've had a bad experienced with lincoln vets .most my animals that have been here die when they have operations that my other animals have had the same problems and been to other vets and live..they blame anaesthetic but the animals that have died have had it before .if there not killing them and you can't prove it . then they won't see you in an emergency if you have no money. They would rather let your pet die than help it how can a vet stand there and say sorry we can't help .I thought vets were ment to care that's why they took on being a vet but it's come to light that vets are only in it for the money and nothing else. I've only ever met 1 good vet that helped me without a payment and his from Surrey called Andy .Lincoln had my dog for a simple dog delivery and she bled out he was a French man who said when I came in are you sure she's pregnant I laughed and said I'm holding her child here now help get the rest out .but all kids died and so did mummy .this vets are a slaughterhouse in my eyes

Fantastic experience: Only putting 4 stars so this actually shows up at the top of their reviews. I went in this morning because my dog suddenly started having seizures out of nowhere, and I was already terrified and shaken. The person who answered the phone was cold, dismissive, and honestly shockingly rude considering I was calling in a panic. It felt like they were preying on my fear just to get me through the door, even though they clearly knew they wouldn’t be able to actually treat him the way he needed. She insisted over and over that it was *urgent* that he be seen immediately, which sent me rushing there in pieces, barely able to think straight. But when I arrived at 6am, all they did was check his heart, take his temperature, give diazepam, and then tell me I’d have to wait for my normal vet to open for bloods and an MRI referral anyway. So I basically paid £355 for them to treat me horribly while doing the bare minimum for my dog. When I questioned why they made it sound like he’d receive proper treatment if I brought him in—especially knowing the seizures would likely have stopped by the time we got there—she doubled down and hid behind “protocol.” Instead of acknowledging my very real concerns, she made me feel guilty for being disappointed. Somehow, *I* ended up apologizing to *her*, even though I walked out feeling emotionally manipulated and completely dismissed. It was like she weaponized my fear and stress against me. It genuinely felt like they know exactly how to push vulnerable people when they’re desperate and scared. I can’t shake the feeling that they rely on that emotional panic for easy money. I wouldn’t trust them with my pet again. The only positive part of the whole experience was the vet, herself - kind, polite, and gentle - even though she ultimately did not do anything more for my dog. But the receptionist? The attitude, the lack of empathy, the way she handled someone clearly distressed… she shouldn’t be the one answering the phone for people in crisis. And when I had to transfer money between accounts, it took only a few minutes, but she was visibly impatient and kept pushing and pressuring me to hurry and pay, even though I was already overwhelmed. I really hope I never need to go back there again. The whole experience left me shaken, disappointed, and honestly heartbroken.

Fantastic experience: This was my second visit in a week to vets now due to our dog Milly developing Vestibular disease. Both times of visiting the service from vets now was exemplary, from the first contact through to leaving every single person at the practice were professional, friendly, caring and helped me feel at ease and confident that our girl was receiving the best possible care. Yes it is expensive but it is an emergency service that is there when you need it and I will gladly pay as much as is needed to ensure my dogs are receiving the care and treatment they need. All costs and treatment options were carefully and clearly explained and I was given a choice before committing to any costs. Gives thanks to all that looked after our girl on those nights - from a very grateful dog mum!

Negative experience: Receptionist and triage nurse were both lovely, unfortunately we never got to see the vet. She was the only one there that day and by the time we gave up she’d been working 8 hours, and we would have been waiting more hours so we decided it would be better to wait a little longer to see our regular vet the next morning. Nobody’s fault and there were animals in more urgent need but just unfortunate.

Fantastic experience: We would just like to thank Nicole and the staff on duty on the night of 8th Oct. They cared for Joe the Cocker overnight after a serious bleed during surgery at our registered vets. Everything was explained fully, and with compassion in what was a very scary time for us. Joe has recovered well, and has his last check up visit next week.

Fantastic experience: I arrived middle of the night with a dog after c section with no milk and 9 hungry puppies. The nurse, vet and the lady who teaches you how to feed the puppies were amazing. Negative experience: My friend rang at midnight to bring my dying guinea pig, i was with him at the time. When they got there she told the receptionist we didn't need a consultation because I knew there was no saving him (I have had enough to know when theres no hope). Only they looked at him, agreed he needing putting to sleep and then charged me £150 plus pts fee, all because she didnt mention the exact words on the phone but at reception, (instead she said there's no saving him, he needs pts). I told them I didnt have the money for a consultation and all I had was my food money for the week, which they then took knowing I had a daughter to feed. I got my pigs when my finances and health were better. But its things like this that are making owning any animals impossible for many, or leaving many suffering needlessly and why I have had to rehome them for their benefit. All they seemed to care about was money, which judging by the other reviews appears to be quite a regular thing. They know that if u dont want your animals to die you have to pay and most are just grateful their furbabies are ok. I wonder if the vet recieves the increased consultation fee

Fantastic experience: First time using an out of hours vets. Unfortunately our 12 week old puppy had swallowed the lid of the ear cleaner whole. They were lovely and reassured me and gave me 2 options to treat. I decided to take him in and they treated him straight away. They were very transparent regarding cost and was cheaper then I initially expected. Although it is expensive, I didn’t expect it to be anything less and I would have paid anything to treat him, we also have insurance which has covered the treatment. Really great experience and all so lovely who worked there

Positive experience: great vet, lovely vet nurses. enormously, unbelievably expensive and stressful experience. we had to pick up our cat at 7:30am who needed further inpatient care but due to staff shortages couldn't stay at The vets as there was no vet now vet available 12-7pm so we had to madly ring around to find another vets with out of hours provision and drive her 45 mins without a drip and with a catheter in etc to get her the help she needed as all the local vets use vets now as their out of hours cover. cant fault the vets and their team themselves but it seems pretty badly organised. not sure if its a once off or common- we hope not to have to find out!

Fantastic experience: Our greyhound got heatstroke after an operation on Monday 30th June 2025. Nicole and Lucy were absolutely amazing, delivering treatment quickly and with kindness. They saved our dogs life and we will always be grateful. Yes it cost a lot of money, but money can be earned and we would never be able to replace our Rosie. We feel very reassured that there's a great vets close by to care for our dogs in emergencies if our usual vet is closed. Thank you for everything.

Positive experience: Absolute fantastic treatment for our dog Molly from the on duty vet and nurses. 10 star treatment throughout and now Molly is fully recovered. The only downside is the cost. I really don't know how they can justify it. So a 1 star rating for that.

Positive experience: Although the staff were absolutely lovely the £320 charge before even seeing a vet is disgusting. Then a £35 charge on top to fill out paperwork plus added costs for medication. I know it’s not the staff that add the charges but something has to change so that looking after your pet and getting medical treatment is affordable for everyone

Fantastic experience: I didn’t get the names of the vets or nurses but we rushed Ralph our Pug to the vets in the early hours Sunday morning and he remained in there care for the next 12 hours. Unfortunately Ralph was too poorly and we lost him, but everyone involved at the practice from vets, nurses and receptionists were just fantastic. We got to spend time with Ralph before having him put to sleep we didn’t feel rushed and everyone was so compassionate. What was the probably the worst 12 hours of my life was made just that little bit easier by the amazing staff. I can’t thank them all enough.

Negative experience: Vets Now are down as being the out of hours emergency vets for the majority of the vet practices in Lincoln. I needed an emergency vets this evening due to one of my rabbits developing head tilt and unsteady and falling over. I contacted Vets Now to advise that I was heading there with my rabbit. However, I was told that the practice was not accepting new patients and that I would need to travel over 1 hour to the practice in Doncaster. After expressing my concerns that my rabbit was getting worse and I was worried that she wouldn't survive the journey, I was repeatedly told nothing could be done. To stay the car journey was traumatic is an understatement, seeing her distressed constantly throughout was devastating. Something than could have been easily negated should I have not been turned away from the local OOH practice. Had I been able to access the local OOH and not having had to travel to Doncaster, I would have opted for the option for her to remain at the practice over night so she could have been monitored by professionals. However, with Doncaster being over an hour away I chose to bring her home to monitor over night myself, as I would have had to travel back in the morning to collect her etc. Vets Now in Doncaster also stated that they weren't even made aware that the Lincoln branch were declining patients and that people were being redirected to their practice etc. Overall an absolutely traumatic and awful experience. Although I would give 5 stars to the practice over in Doncaster, as they couldn't have done anymore and were very professional and human.

Fantastic experience: Myself and my husband rung our regular vet at 9.30pm and the call redirected to Vets now. The lovely lady on the phone got all of our details and issues with our pup (bloat and concerns of it turning into twisted stomach). We were around an hour from both locations, but on arrival we were met at the door by the wonderful staff and were accommodated throughout our visit. Our dog was triaged lower due to a C-section, but we completely understood this and we're happy to wait (unlike others in the waiting room who complained they weren't being seen! - that's how triage works!). A nurse was able to see our pup and was happy that his bloat had gone down/no signs of twisted stomach etc as far as she could see, so said we were welcome to take him home or if we were still concerned could wait to see the vet. We opted to go home since our dog was acting much more himself - we've just got home and we are so grateful for the exceptional service that I wanted to write a review, even at 12am! I understand that some are frustrated with the price of these visits, but at the end of the day, the incredible staff work through the NIGHT in order for your beloved pets to be safe - there's no price for that in my eyes. I have never received this type of care and compassion even from a human hospital! I couldn't recommend Vets Now more in an emergency - Thank you all for your hard work!

Negative experience: I was seen very promptly and efficiently. Issy the vet was lovely and very kind. I think it is absolutely criminal to charge £350 just to be seen, how on earth can you justify this amount of money? If I was to see a specialist for myself it would not cost this amount. On visiting my own vet on Monday it transpires that the paracetamol dose was not enough to reduce Betty's temperature as quickly as it could have if she had been given a higher dose. I really am so cross about the fee just to be seen. When you love your pet as a member of your family then you do anything to make them feel better, and you as a company are definitely taking advantage of this!

Positive experience: The receptionist who answered the phone was speaking in a very low voice and I could hardly hear her, so she went away and put me on speaker. But she still got my name wrong and my surname which is very important when you are claiming for reimbursement. Otherwise all went well and my dog seems better. It was very expensive and people will be put off by that. I originally rang Kirks vet's and was passed through electronically to Vet's now so that maybe the problem with the phones, I think you should check.

Positive experience: Called up because my poorly baby raven was not eating, drinking, throwing up and really sleepy, staff were fantastic over the phone. Came here on the 29th of March 2025 an hour or so later once we booked her in online.. staff were exceptional and caring. Ever so kind who looked after my baby girl. Took her obs and gave her an anti sickness and fluids as well as ensuring she is comfortable. Only downfall is the pricing but I understand reasons why.. definitely will come again if I have trouble with her. Overall would Recommend

Positive experience: This is the out of hours Vet that I had to go to when my pup ate something it shouldn’t have at 9pm. Really lovely staff they were great but how they charge the prices and get away with it I do not know?!?!? It was £313.50 before I walked through the door then pup who weighed less than 3kg at the time need 2 injections that were less than £50 before VAT but after a fee of 22.50 for each one on top and the VAT the final bill being £460.15 we were there less than half an hour. The veterinary nurse did the health check the vet drew the injection up they watched her as she vomited in case she choked and then gave an anti sickness jab, like I say really grateful but thats more than a weeks wage for most people and when an animal is in real need of help it’s shocking!

Fantastic experience: Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house A creature was stirring, but not a little mouse. While everyone sang carols at midnight mass, A border terrier searched for a little food tax. The stockings were hung by the chimney with care, He gave them a good sniff, but no luck there. He gazed at the fridge, stuffed full of goose, Impossible to reach, his paws were no use. But lo what is this tucked under the tree? A whole bar of dark chocolate, just for me. Tail wagging, teeth gnashing, he wolfed down the lot, Paper and all - getting caught he would not! Or so he thought, but he must have left a trace, Now everyone’s staring at him with horror on their face. Bundled into the car, he’s whisked away, Hurtling through the night like Santa and his sleigh. At the end of his journey, no presents await, Just a feeling in his tummy that isn’t so great. The feeling gets worse as the doors are flung open, And out he gets at ‘Vets Now Lincoln’. As he lifts his gaze, he’s met with an awesome sight, Two heavenly beings, all dressed in white. Christmas angels decked out in latex gloves and veterinary degrees, He’s never seen vets as kind as these. After some poking and prodding and more stern looks, He realises his mistake and what’s on the books. As he watches the chocolate come back in reverse, Not a thought has he for his owner’s poor purse*. He thinks only that next time he munches midnight snacks, He must do better at covering his tracks. After 45 minutes in the vet’s tender care, It’s time to go home, it’s the end of the scare. Or so he thought, but he’s scored one last own goal. Rather than scraps of goose or potato, his Christmas Day meal is 6 doses of activated charcoal. The vet and the nurse couldn’t have been kinder, But when leaving a terrier, here’s a gentle reminder: Hide the dark chocolate, don’t let them take a bite. Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good night! * This was actually phenomenally good value for a 1am emergency trip to the vet on Christmas morning. Enormous thanks to the truly angelic vets who saved Christmas!

Fantastic experience: We had an incident on Christmas Day which resulted in an emergency trip to the vets. The staff were prompt in taking us inside and checking on our dog. They came out and gave us all the information we needed including what signs to look for in case she needed to come back in. Positive experience: We called and they booked us in for 7am. They were very quick at processing us and the vet was at hand immediately. Her diagnosis was good, but our options were zero. The cat need X-rays, stitches and general anaesthetic. Because they close at 8am we had to go back to our own vets. £375 later and some pain relief we left with our cat as we started.

Negative experience: Arrived with my poorly cat. She was immediately taken to be dealt with but then the emphasis was on the cost and getting half the payment straight away. She was kept in overnight on a drip and pain meds £1600 plus an x ray. Not sure where these amount of costs come from! A phone call later to find out she needed picking up 7 am to then be taken to our own vets. It was made known they wanted to close. The reception informed us her x rays would be at our vets before we got there at 9. A day later my wonderful vet received them. Her treatment was then able to begin properly. I will not be using you again in an emergency.

Fantastic experience: On Saturday afternoon, my GSD Belle experienced an allergic reaction. Since all the veterinary clinics were closed, I contacted Vets Now and spoke with a courteous representative who advised me to bring Belle in. The entire staff at the clinic was exceptionally kind and supportive, providing excellent care for Belle. The veterinarian was reassuring and provided valuable guidance. Negative experience: Emergency vet visit for my dog on a weekend morning. No wait times and reception staff were very friendly. The vet however didn’t even greet my dog, and seemed annoyed by his presence. The vet wasn’t forthcoming with any information on why my dog would be under the weather, and forced a muzzle on him that was way too small, which I objected to but they put on him anyway. I then was told I wasn’t doing a good enough job at holding my wriggling, uncomfortable, poorly muzzled puppy, and was charged £400 to not learn anything new about his condition. Only to visit the regular vet the next day. Wouldn’t recommend unless you’re completely desperate.

Fantastic experience: The staff at Lincoln were exceptional. Eleanor, who was the vet we saw, saved my 16 year old dogs life and I’m very very grateful. We were treated very kindly by all the staff from the moment we arrived, we were extremely distressed and panicking at the time. The experience of ringing VetsNow was not good though, delays in getting through to someone, not long but too long in a dire emergency and then the questions such as what my email address was and what my title is seemed completely unnecessary. Obviously the pricing for the service is very high and I feel very sorry for pet owners who won’t be able to pay it or are unable to travel there.

Negative experience: if i could give No stars i would they are absolutely awful wouldn't trust them to treat a snail. i have a 10 week old puppy that had unfortunately been bitten by an older dog on her face. i took her to vets now as they did a "28 Day consent to pay" and it was a few weeks until pay day. i was aware of the charges at the time of the visit and signed to agree them . even though i got a very full on attitude from the vet that treated her. i made the vet aware that she had not had her second vaccinations and got the sarcastic reply of "well we wont put her on the floor then" i spent less than 18 minutes in the practice from arriving to leaving they looked at her and tried to just scare us telling us how she could be brain damaged or lose her eye, or have a bleed on the brain or have an orbital fracture. they never looked in her eye with a scope just pulled her eye lids open and closed it. they then gave her two injections and then stated that i need to see how she went and go to my vets tomorrow. i then spent 10 minutes waiting for the vet with attitude to type her notes up and was informed the bill was a ridiculously £354.00 (this included an out of hours fee of £300, was originally i was told it was £275 on the phone they never chose to not add the plus vat part!!). i paid a down payment of £80 and was told that if she did have insurance to let them know and they will get it sorted!. i discovered two days later that her breeder (i had puppy a week by now) had registered her 4 weeks free insurance so i rang them up to be told i needed to fill out the insurance paperwork for them and they would charge me £25.00 admin fee...... which was tagged on to the end of the phone call (no paperwork signed in agreement!) i chose to not fill out the paper forms they provided and did as my insurance advised and filled out the online form they had on there website. the claim has been going ahead and i have today found out that even though i filled out the paperwork with the insurance i am required to pay an admin fee of £25.00 for 2 minutes of work where they send the vets notes to the pet plan online portal for a claim i put forward and i have to pay there Insurance Admin team's time for this (even though due to her age she had no past medical history). i am absolutely disgusted with this vets i have used them twice and this is the second time they have only thought about the money and not the animals welfare and been very blunt about the fact they can only give pain relief and euthanise them. the vets are pushy and rude and they just want to charge you the earth for a service you wouldn't get from a rubbish takeaway. i will NEVER be going back to them i wouldn't trust them with any animals especially not mine!!! i was also told that if i didn't pay the admin fee they would send it to a debt collector to recover yet the amount yet again another example of money mad vets!! on a plus note and no help from them there vet was completely wrong and my now 14 week old puppy is perfectly health and not any issues of lasting damage to her body (but the praise for this is for my own common sense vets that saw her the next day) I Spoke to there insurance team regards the fee but they were not at all helpful they just argued back and didn't want to help or understand the situation they never apologised for the fact they never told me sooner she just stated i was told and that because i was told i was aware so it was payable. when i questioned the fact the charge was very steep for 2 minutes of time they stated that they have over 60 practices and the process takes time.

Fantastic experience: I rang Vets Now in the afternoon on a Sunday, as my pet dog was in quite a bit of pain after 5days post spaying. The girls on the reception desk were lovely, from taking my call, to sending me a link to Google maps on how to get to their clinic to being greeted at the door. Our precious pet was seen very quickly. The vet was lovely and checked our pet for any complications, before prescribing her some painkillers with full instructions and advice. They even helped me to start the insurance claim, so that I could concentrate on my pet. The whole experience was quick and stress free, and my pet is now much more comfortable and able to concentrate on getting better and I now feel less stressed and tired. Thank you Vets Now, you are all so welcoming and put people at ease, in what is a very scary and stressful time for our pets ♥️ A very worthy while and important service for our pets in need.

Fantastic experience: We brought Pinny who is 13 weeks old because she was struggling with her breathing. The staff were wonderful. Pinny had to have oxygen and the vet examined her and explained the condition was serious. She stayed overnight while the vet worked on her and we picked her up early next morning. We cannot thank your vet enough. He was very calm and spent time with us explaining the condition he believed was affecting Pinny and the options we had. We took her to our vet that morning to continue the treatment plan, and whilst they arecalso excellent I wish he was our permanent vet!

Negative experience: Had to use this place out of hours 3 times now over the period of quite a few years and 2 out of the 3 times we have requested minimal treatment (without putting our pets at any further risk) to get through the night until we could see our usual vet the following day. This was purely down to the astronomical costs they charge. Yes, I understand out of hours comes with a premium however, £300 consultation fee just to see our pet is, in my opinion, unjustified. Our first experience was when our cat was fitting (he was diabetic), and they suggested an x-ray at circa £1000 which we paid. They then said they found a mass and recommended an operation to explore further at another astronomical fee. We declined, he had stabilised, but we left him overnight for monitoring purposes as it was the best for the cat then picked him up the following morning and took him straight to our vets, who looked at the x-ray results and disagreed with the Vets Now's diagnostics and himself said he couldn't see any shadow they referred too!!!! Our latest experience was last night, when our dog had gotten a very nasty, deep cut whilst out running in the woods. Like I say, £300 to just see him with a further quote of £1800 to sedate him, stitch the wound and keep him overnight. We declined, asked them to clean and dress the wound and I made an appointment to see our own vets for this morning. They cleaned and dressed the wound and we came away £420 lighter but saved a further £1800. We have just had the appointment at our vets and they have re-checked the wound, cleaned it again and stitched it for a grand total of £140 (no sedation required). More proof that the above quote is daylight robbery, along with unnecessary treatments being advised. Yes, businesses have to make money. Yes, there is an out of ours premium as with most businesses. Yes, Vets are expensive anyway. However, How ‘Vets Now’ justify the prices they are charging is beyond me and I am always suspicious when the first words out of the practices mouth is ' Do you have insurance ' before they have even given you a quote and we were asked that 3 times until the quote was given !!! Their business model screams... profit, profit, profit. If I could use a different out of hours practice, I would.

Fantastic experience: I chose to bring Bruno here for his final journey. Several reasons but mostly because Bruno loathed the vets, he got so anxious. I thought this place might be quieter and also thought there'd be less people and fuss. I did the video consultation first, i was just trying to find any remaining hope but it was time. I explained Bruno's dislike of the vets and immediately, with no fuss, plan B was enacted - something to chill him out, and give us some quiet time with him. Best bit was this was all happening in the back of our car, so no more lugging around and vet smells. He clearly became pain free and perkier for a while which was lovely as he was able to look around a bit before getting a further shot of the chill-out stuff, then the final medicine and because Bruno was calm, we were too and it was all so bloomin kind and caring. I cannot recall the names of the vet, or veterinary nurse, fantastic Canadian woman and her tall sidekick. There are no words in the English language to describe their behaviour, above and beyond doesn't cut it, they simply read the situation and ... well did everything in their professional and humanitarian capabilities to ensure Bruno died peacefully and we were able to say goodbye thoroughly. I will never, ever forget those two for their kindness, humanity and professionalism. Yes this service comes at a significant cost but boy oh boy worth every penny, i will come here again when i need special care and i will shout their names from the hill-top, when I remember them. Negative experience: I attended Lincoln Vets Now in April 2024 after my dog cut himself. Prior to arrival, I had cleaned and dressed the wound. On arrival, I explained to the vet that there was a piece of skin still attached which was partially covering the wound, and the dressing should be removed diagonally so not to aggravate this. I showed a photo of the flap of skin covering the wound to assist in the removal of the dressing. It was at this point that unfortunately I lost trust in the vet and the practice. Without even removing the dressing, and bearing in mind the wound was completely covered by the dressing and the flap of skin, the vet informed me that my dog would certainly require a general anaesthetic and a significant number of stitches. There was a focus on the cost of the procedure, quoted around £800, and how long this would take (I imagine contributing to excessive aftercare charges). I was confused by the prognosis since it was not possible to see the wound depth or width properly on a photograph. I was concerned that the focus was cost and time as opposed to my dog’s care. I was in the consultation room for less than 6 minutes in total and attempted to question why glue and/or staples were not an option to avoid the risks associated with general anaesthetic. I was dismissed without proper consultation or inspection of the wound depth or width. I declined the treatment due to doubt about the course of action and lack of trust in the company values. I have to admit that I was very concerned why the wound had not been inspected properly and it was at this point I unfortunately also lost trust in the capability of the vet. I went to my own vet on Monday morning and asked for a second opinion, where six simple staples were used to re-attach the skin and the wound healed perfectly. I politely provided feedback to Vets Now that they should review their practice in this case, and requested a consultation fee refund - since their idea of a consultation was simply to suggest the most expensive course of action without inspection. I confirmed I was obviously happy to pay for other aspects of the treatment, such as requested pain medication. I followed procedure and was told to wait 35 days for the review in line with Vets Now policy. This has now passed and I still have no outcome, no refund and no feedback. This is not good enough. I contacted three times during the process and each time was told that they usually complete complaints within 35 days and they apologise for the delay. This is clearly a tactic deployed to hope the customer forgets and moves on. Awful company only interested in profit. Poor values, lack of cooperation with customers. Misdiagnosis by vet, questions about ethics of this approach to scaremonger customers into most expensive course of action without proper regard for animal care. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. GO ELSEWHERE!

Negative experience: I suggest they change the business name to CASH NOW ! I understand all boiled down it's a business set up to make money. The way they go about it is Diabolical! To use people's emotions against them to extract cash is despicable. Shame on park view for sharing a building with these leeches. Upon walking through the door I felt like a Cash Machine, first thing I was told ( without being asked about the animal I had brought in ) was " Have you got INSURANCE, as this is going to be expensive and someone has to pay " Maybe a little training needed there to bluff people into thinking CASH NOW cares. Had to dispense £1000 there and then and 3 days later dispense another £1700 The admin girl just kept going on about the insurance and payment. I used to think Vets cared about animals ? Maybe NOT. So if you ever in the unfortunate circumstance you have to use Vets NOW, please make sure your wallet is stacked to the gunnells with cold hard cash ! No comforting words from the owner of Vets now required, you have the cash, leave it at that.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely amazing vets! I have a very poorly chinchilla and I had to come to vets now Lincoln twice and both times the vets were incredible! So friendly and accommodating. Fantastic experience: Vets Now at Park View North Hykeham were excellent. They saw my hyperthermic kitten when The Veterinary Hospital Lincoln didn’t take me seriously as an emergency prior, nor at a follow up. And the treatment worked very quickly! Likely saved the kitten’s life thank you ever so much. Wonderful telephone advisor, reception staff and vet, extremely knowledgeable helpful and compassionate. Highly recommend thank you again!

Negative experience: Cold, No empathy, Insurance driven, a Massive lack of respect for a our deceased dog! Our poor loving dog of 12 years had no care or dignity from either Vet Now or Park View Vet after his death! Both practices subsidiary’s of Independent Vet Care After receiving amazing emergency care from our vet Foxhall Vets we were referred to Vets Now for continuing out of hours treatment. Whilst the veterinary and clinical care/treatment was ok the rest was appalling! They were more interested in insurance and what money they could get. My dog was in a critical state and all they wanted to know what the insurance limit and excess. When they already had the policy number etc. The only thing they spend time explaining to me was how to submit the insurance claim! This was gone through in detail step by step with a leaflet. We received the invoice less than an hour after having our dog PTS! Following our dog having to be PTS in the night we telephoned in the morning to arrange collection of our dog to be told by Park Vets had to call back at 7pm as it’s not their problem they just share a building. They had no authority to release the body and didn’t know where he would be so we could only pick our dog up after 7pm and before 8am Finally when we managed to arrange an apointment to pick him up we were told on arrival at the pre arranged they didn’t know where he was and the nurse who did was on her lunch! Eventually he was bought him out with a couple of towels thrown around him saying he wasn’t very presentable! When asked why this was as we left after him being peacefully put to sleep. They said he had blood all over his face. We were mortified to hear this and questions why as it wasn’t his blood they give no answer nor cared!!! Appalling service and behaviour from professional in an industry of animal care and welfare!

Negative experience: If I could give zero I would, We rushed our large dog here for treatment as advised by our usual vets, service was okay but ultimately seemed more interested in whether we have insurance. Asked me to pay X amount which I would receive back when the insurance company had settled. Ultimately our insurance company did settle, however we never received the initial money back meaning I paid two excesses. One at usual Vets at the Carlton Centre and One here. Multiple emails, left messages they just ignore you. For the sake of £150 where on earth is the customer service.

Negative experience: 0 stars. DO NOT TAKE YOUR ANIMALS HERE unless you want to be ripped off and for your pet to suffer longer than they need to. Our poor baby had an accident so we brought him to them, £350 for some painkillers and to be told he is OK... fast forward 24 hours later and a second opinion elsewhere he has a dislocated hip and will have to have his leg amputated due to the delay in getting him treatment they can't pop his hip back in. Extremely upset and disappointed in the lack of duty of care at this vets, my cats life won't ever be the same now

Negative experience: Had a very poorly rabbit. Vets are ment to look after rabbits but instead said £300 to just look at rabbit. You are an absolute joke and now my rabbit has just died and have my little boy sobbing. Just pretend to care but only if you get stupid money for it.

Fantastic experience: Excellent service from start to finish. We had a very sick dog that needed all night care. Fantastic experience: My cat was seriously ill and got transferred from my local vets as they don’t do out of hour emergency care. She was there for 4 days and I cannot fault the care and compassion given to her and us as a family. We had daily calls and updates from the vet on call and he kept me posted on her progress. She was found to only have one kidney when she was there too ! Thank you for everything you did for her. Enya is doing amazingly well considering how sick she was. 109% recommend. Thank you

Positive experience: To be fair my experience wasn’t great As I felt my dog needed a c section She was insured and the vet told me insurance wouldn’t cover this ! I knew they would , he chose to inject her She did have one pup there the sac of fluid had been visible over two hours without a pup and when pup was born there was still sac of fluid. Which wasn’t right I got told to go home she should be fine next pup 4 hours later dead and 3 hours later dead and 2 hours later another gasping for life I got a swab cleared its mouth warmed up and survived Also charged me £336 which included admin for insurance.. I put my claim in with my insurance same night around 23:00 and money was paid at01:01 2 hours later!! So I want my admin fee back and to be fair should compensate the two dead pups ! As she was insured and they did pay within 2 hours (many pets ) amazing

Positive experience: Our girl Nellie had some pregnancy complications on Sunday 19th Nov. We took her in and the team were fab!! They made her feel at ease, and us too. One minor thing is that one vet made us feel like we needed to hurry up, and said 'there are at least 3 other emergencies here' I know my dog needed alot of the teams attention but this is not something we could help. Apart from that Rose and Shannon in particular were outstanding and did everything they could to avoid a c-section which we really appreciated. Nellie and her babies are doing really well ❤
