Fantastic experience: We recently had to euthanise our beautiful cat Isla .Cameron Wood was the vet who helped us through this difficult time.We just want to say thank you to him .He was kind ,and very gentle with Isla which was a comfort to us .He is definitely in the right profession .Thank you Cameron .

Fantastic experience: This was our 2nd visit with our ill dog - the first being an emergency. The vets explain everything without forcing decisions. Was made well aware of costs as well. Reception staff are very reassuring and welcoming.

Positive experience: Slightly longer wait than usual due to an emergency, only docking a star because it would have been nice to be told this by receptionists instead of just waiting for what felt like nothing

Fantastic experience: Just taken cat to Skellingthorpe for annual jab. Always prefer to take cat there as it’s usually a lot quieter. Cat doesn’t usually like male vets but Cameron (?) took his time with her and was so calm and gentle there wasn’t even a hiss from the cat . Great service as usual.

Fantastic experience: Everything you could possibly wish for in a vet! I’m a housesitter/pet sitter and needed an emergency appointment for an elderly dog with a heart condition. I was seen within an hour of calling the clinic! The receptionists and the vet (Anali) were absolutely amazing - friendly, experienced and reassuring. It was a pleasure to deal with them, despite the unfortunate circumstances. I came away with all the information I needed to allow the owners to make an informed decision about next steps. If only our NHS provided this level of service! Truly wonderful, thank you all!

Fantastic experience: Has all the facilities you would expect. Generally, no problem getting an appointment. Friendly and helpful. They take care of your pet. Independent and have satellite surgeries around Lincoln area.

Fantastic experience: Very recently we had a real emergency with one of our two cats. He was a very affectionate and well loved 6 year old tabby. Sadly he suddenly became very ill requiring an immediate visit to the Veterinary Hospital. The service provided when needed most was exemplary. The receptionist, practice nurse and vet (and others) acted swiftly and with compassion but sadly he could not be saved. There was a real sense of prompt attention, empathy, understanding and sympathy and we thank you all for your efforts and professionalism throughout. Thankyou.

Fantastic experience: Amazing staff, new layout works perfect. Cat only afternoons work really well. And even have a cat only bay. I've used these vets for a number of years. Every time they have been helpful and even enthusiastic and loving to try and find any problems. Very expensive. I've spent over £1000 here over the past 6 weeks. One cat passed away and the other diagnosed with thyroid issues. Luckily caught it in time. Thank you

Fantastic experience: If I could give ten stars I would. We’ve always had positive experiences with them and our two rabbits, Benji and Clover, but this week we had to bring in Benji in an emergency situation. The vet (Thryn) identified that his stomach had most likely flipped, which is a deadly condition, and acted so quickly - while honestly and kindly explaining exactly what was happening as well as the risks of any interventions and what his honest chances of survival were. He went straight in for xrays and an emergency surgery that must have been at least 3 hours. Benji is home two days later, and while he might not be fully out of the woods yet, his chances are looking good. We’re so, so grateful to Thryn and the rest of the team for saving him, for communicating so clearly and kindly with us, and for putting up with his feisty bunny pal who needed to be there too but did NOT want to be Thank you!!

Fantastic experience: This is the most compassionate vets practice I have come across. Without exception, staff are kind, patient and humane. We are full of gratitude for their expertise and swift response in treating our much-loved cat.

Negative experience: Had a consistently poor quality of service from those in reception in Lincoln, they were unable to efficiently handle personal information. They had the wrong personal data and it only got changed after asking them the 5th time, which it was still not fully correct. When I asked what the difficulty was they are rude and slow in their responses. After making sure twice... they still put the wrong address on my pets microchip. The pain of interacting with those individuals makes it not worth going there again. Overall just a hugely stressful experience. The veterinary care was great by one individual and sub-par by another.

Negative experience: Awful experience met the lady who rescues animals for the puppy I was having as it was her 2nd injection. Vet was rude, dismissive, lack of any constructive advice for the rescue puppy. Kept sighing totally miserable what an awful experience. Glad I don’t have to take my puppy back there.

Fantastic experience: We have registered all our pets at this Vet Hospital, initially with our first pet following my parents recommendation (they had taken their dog there). I can honestly say the service and care has been excellent whether it’s been a regular appointment or an emergency. I would highly recommend this practice.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely fantastic, can't recommend them strongly enough. I'm disabled and neurodiverse, and don't have any support other than myself, and my pet. When my let fell ill I was absolutely distraught, and all the staff at The Veterinary Hospital were incredibly kind and compassionate. They helped me to understand what had happened, how to treat, and how long recovery would take. It sometimes feels like when you ask for help, nobody is listening... Not here. That's the difference for me. It's not flashy ads and marketing designed to fleece you of your cash, it's proper, honest, down to earth Veterinary care. Thanks to everyone at the Veterinary hospital.

Positive experience: A great vet based in skellingthorpe with partner veterinary hospital on Newport. Our cat was in good hands here. Professional, friendly service with optimum care and after care advice. I was very surprised by the estimated cost of our cats surgery which totalled £1000 for two teeth removed and ears checked and treated with drops. This seemed very expensive but I don't know how this compares to other vets. I guess they're all expensive nowadays.

Fantastic experience: I visited this vets while on holiday with my Springer Spaniel. The service was excellent right from the start with the receptionist getting us booked in for the same day, the greeting we had in the waiting room when we arrived, the vet listened to all my concerns, she was so thorough in her examination and she genuinely cared about my dog. Everything was explained clearly and completely. Fantastic experience I would thoroughly recommend this practice, thank you VH vets

Fantastic experience: After visiting the vets for past 20 years with our fire ball of a cat Truffle yesterday we had to make a big decision to take one last trip . We are forever grateful for the care and compassion which was shown especially to Carolyn who was amazing throughout. I would always recommend The Veterinary Hospital as the best . Thank you x

Fantastic experience: Such a great Vets wish I could give more than 5 stars

Negative experience: This used to be a good pet hospital but something has changed over the last 18 months for the worst. The practice also had a court case going on in regards to a young lady and her Chihuahua that the women shared around Facebook with the court letters for Proof they had breached the laws around controlled drugs the correct practice would be to have the dose written down and two nurses present Instead what happened was…. The nurse that still works there today had given the dog X10 the amount and the dog died and vets said the dog had no financial value Many staff have left and replaced for the worst , the vets are generally good. The communication of this hospital is terrible, they say one thing do another, also drag things out longer than needed and the animal suffers because of it. The prices are through the roof, when compared to other vet prices in the area preforming the same procedures. Some of the staff on reception and some of the nurses are rude and unprofessional have no respect for the clients or any passion for the job roles they do.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely amazing. Rang in on a Saturday and had an appointment within 15 minutes. Always so nice, understanding and willing to provide the best care possible to pets. Best vets in Lincoln by far

Negative experience: I had always thought this veterinary surgery was one of the best but having recently visited with my cat I am changing my mind. The vet did not check him thoroughly and very quickly surmised he had cancer suggesting a biopsy which would have cost nearly £1000. They prescribed antibiotics and this cleared up the infection he actually had. Thank goodness I didn't agree to put him through the horrible and expensive surgery. I have no trust in their practices and am of the opinion they just care about money. I requested further pain killers for him and paid over the phone but have yet to receive them. Would definitely not recommend this vet.

Fantastic experience: VH provided outstanding care for my elderly retriever. He was terminally ill but the care and compassions received from Thryn was second to none. She went out of her way to make sure we were well informed about all steps of his treatment and her knowledge and care was a comfort through the difficult decisions we had to make. We can’t thank them enough .

Negative experience: 1 star is too much for this disgusting practice. All they care about is money which is such a shame as there are some lovely vets and nurses there but the company let's them down. I have two beautiful kittens who I pay monthly for a pet plan for where they are supposed to have their vaccinations and microchip included our first visit went okay despite there being problems with them accusing me of not paying the pet plan but eventually giving in when we could prove the payments however when it came to booking in their boosters they had taken my mobile number down incorrectly. They admitted to attempting to call me once but the number wasn't a working number. They did not bother to send me an email or a letter which they had down the details of correctly to tell me their boosters were due. It took me calling to query it for them to finally realise and told me we would have to start the course again but thats fine as we are on their amazing pet plan. After them getting their boosters we were then told we would have to pay £108 for their boosters. My partner asked to speak to someone regarding this where they sent out the practice manager who's idea of describe was to talk in the porch where people walk in and out of the building. My partner explained that we were in financial difficulty right now due to my health declines and me having to tale time off work. To wich she responded "if you can't afford to have cats don't have cats" they did not back down and would not let us leave without paying a contribution to the costs we paid £50 and left a month later I have now received an invoice via email (funny they couldn't use that form of communication before) for £146 which is way more than what we were quoted! Avoid this place like the plague my girls deserve better I'm never going back

Fantastic experience: Cannot recommend TVH enough. We moved our 3 dogs to their care 3 years ago and haven’t looked back. Everyone goes above and beyond to support and accommodate. We have 1 very poorly dog and their willingness to support and offer the best care is always their first priority - NOTHING IS TOO MUCH TROUBLE!! We feel supported and listened too by all staff, the reception ladies at both branches are so welcoming and compassionate. Very best vets in Lincolnshire!!!!

Fantastic experience: VH vets have always been lovely with my pets. In 2017 I was in hospital and I didn’t know but my Guinea pig was seriously ill. Anneli came to collect my pig and took it in to the surgery and they nursed it back to health. All this so I could continue my own recovery in hospital without the stress. They are professional, friendly and caring. 5 stars!!

Fantastic experience: This practice has been amazing with all of our animals since we found the practice. We have 2 dogs and a cat who all have different needs when being seen which have always been really well catered to. When we lost our older dog the staff were incredibly compassionate and respectful.

Fantastic experience: Our collie is a nervous little thing and we always felt worried about going to our previous vets. On Mossies first visit to VH today she was a completely different dog! She was able to do some tricks for some gravy bones, accept some strokes and be calm. She had a really positive experience. The vets and reception team at VH really understand anxious animals and make so much effort to minimise their stress! It was incredible :) Nola the vet we saw was wonderful, but we know all the team are!

Fantastic experience: The staff from the receptionist to the veterinary surgeons treat your pet as if it was theirs. They go the extra mile to ensure both you and your pet is cared for, they have cared for all my Staffordshire Bull Terriers for over 22 years.

Fantastic experience: Such professional and caring teams, both at Newport and Skellingthorpe. We have been coming here for 14 years, since our darling spaniel was a pup, we have never had any problems here, always found the staff cheerful, approachable and professional, with fair prices. They have a euthanasia clinic, which gives you the chance to discuss end of life care, and to make all the relevant decisions, in a non stressful atmosphere. Today, with the help of Mandy at Skellingthorpe we reluctantly let Robyn go. It was so peaceful and respectful, there was no rush, and we were allowed to hold Robyn as she left us. This is not an easy time, but was smoothed by the plans we had previously made.

Fantastic experience: Excellent caring and professional service. Our retriever ate rat poison and was treated with in half an our on Saturday morning, check again on Sunday and Monday. Couldn’t ask for better service.

Fantastic experience: We have had great experiences with the vets during our first 7 months with our puppy. They are friendly, approachable and really care about the animals. You can typically get an appointment within the day if needed!

Fantastic experience: They helped me with paperwork to travel abroad with my dog Trinity. Could not been more happy with them. Carolyn did so much to help out and made sure we got the right paperwork. Once we entered the hospital we were greeted at the front desk with “Good morning, is that Trinity?” And that made us feel especial, like we madder. That’s the best feeling to have at a veterinary hospital. So congrats to all the staff. You are wonderful. I wish we were from around so we could be back more often. But we will be back for sure! Keep up!

Negative experience: I previously put up a review but had to remove it in order that my wife would keep our pets at the practice because this practice cried like big babies because they don't like any negative reviews. I stand by my opinion that this practice, along with many hundred (if not thousands) across the country are over charging and using the emotions of the owner to do so. I also think they deliberately misdiagnosed and get owners to return multiple times to string out the costs!! Finally this has hit the headlines on sky news and this shoddy industry is being investigated!! Like charging £20 for a piece of paper they print off!!! They have absolutely no interest in your pet....only how much they can rinse you for, and god help you if you dare to challenge their costs because you'll be slung out their practice for even daring to!!

Fantastic experience: For over 50 years I have been lucky to have my pets looked after by this practice. Professional, very knowledgable and compassionate the practice has kept and continue to keep my dogs in perfect health.

Fantastic experience: Really helpful and great service. Struggled to find a reptile vet near Lincoln, but they do have one here (on maternity leave at the moment, but will be returning to the practice in due course). I wasn't confident to do the injections on our snake myself, but the VH coordinated the treatment and carried out the injections even after their reptile specialist vet had to go on maternity leave. Have very skilled nurses who were able to continue the care and had appointments to suit the treatment (every 3 days, even when the 3rd day fell on a Sunday!), very reasonably priced too which helped! Would thoroughly recommend The Veterinary Hospital to anyone with exotics/reptiles and for all other pet types! Thank you

Fantastic experience: The veterinary hospital & their wider colleagues are the best vets in Lincoln & are our go to Vets when our beloved pets need routine boosters & care plus, they saved our older dogs life when no one else new what to do! We also use their reasonable monthly pet plan to spread the costs for our pets care...

Negative experience: It's gone down hill badly in the last few years, yet the prices have continued to rise year on year. All of our many dogs ( and the cat) are now registered with The Pet Vet at the Carlton Centre, where the service and care is much better, the opening hours are much longer (without paying out of hours charges), and our animals are made a fuss of from the moment they get in the door.

Fantastic experience: Yesterday I said farewell to my beloved childhood cat after 15 years, and I could not have asked any more from Carolyn or the hospital. Carolyn made this experience a beautiful and calm passage. I cannot thank her enough for her empathy, compassion and professionalism. Fantastic experience: Moved to the veterinary hospital with my cats after my previous vet repeated lost blood samples which delayed diagnosis of my cat's kidney failure. As soon as I moved to the Veterinary Hospital, she was diagnosed and started on treatment immediately. She is now so much healthier than she was. The vets we saw were all lovely and I am pleased we changed to this vets. Update: still exceptional treatment, especially from Susannah, always lots of cuddles and treats given.

Fantastic experience: I have used this Veterinary Hospital Practice for a few decades now, even before they moved to their new accommodation. It has easy access for the disabled persons, plenty of parking within its well maintained grounds. Staff are friendly and helpful, plenty of seating in the waiting area.

Fantastic experience: My dog fell ill because of getting into a bag that had chocolate. He stayed at this vets overnight and after a day I had him back. Very happy. He was taken care of and they kept me up to date throughout the day. Exceptional vets.

Positive experience: I have to say, this practise seems to have gone downhill a bit recently. On 3 out of the 4 occasions we’ve last visited, we had to wait more than 45 mins to be seen. I absolutely get that emergencies happen but when delays become the norm I feel they are piroritising bookings over customer satisfaction. Sadly we’re now looking for another vet as it’s not fair to our pets to have them waiting around this length of time and getting more stressed on each visit.

Fantastic experience: We would like to thank all the fantastic, dedicated staff at Newport Veterinary hospital for the loving care of our wonderful Autumn over the last week...She is home and fast asleep on her sofa. !! xx

Negative experience: It has good parking. Having never had a dog from a puppy, I didn't realise there was so much to do in the early weeks. A printed schedule of what we need to do would have been handy when we signed up for the pet plan. The staff we've seen so far have been very helpful & answered my questions. Edit: The communication skills of this vet is pretty appalling tbh. My puppy has missed several scheduled worming & flea treatments, despite discussing this with the practice & being told I would be sent reminders, I have not been sent reminders. I was however sent a GDPR breach email this week with thousands of personally identifiable emails in it. I am questioning remaining with this veterinary hospital because of the very poor communication & this GDPR breach. Edit: After being here a year, it was pretty apparent we were sold the pet plan under a lie. As our little dog was a puppy, absolutely nothing in the pet plan applied to her, apart from the worming & flea treatment not costing us any extra. This wasn't explained though & I would like to know what the total cost of the worming & flea treatment would have cost without the pet plan. We got sent an email for renewal & they wanted £16 a month because "she's now an adult dog"....what? When most other vets charge under £14 for a dog of under 10kg this seems excessive & after the year we've had where we've just been left frustrated, despite talking to staff, we felt this was a bit of a rip off. As such, we've moved vets. Fancy building but not the best vet practice on the area.

Fantastic experience: Kind, considerate, compassionate and caring. They have looked after our dogs one particularly difficult at the end of her life and I could not recommend them enough. On a practical note, parking outside including disabled, no steps into the building, and disabled toilet. Separate cat waiting area.

Fantastic experience: It was unfortunate that we had to visit under the circumstances that we did, but the staff here were extremely compassionate and I can't thank them enough for fitting us in when no other practices in the area could. The condolence card, poem and flower seeds that were sent out in the post were a very thoughtful touch.

Fantastic experience: We have been using their services for ten years after some bad experiences at another local practice. 100% trustworthy and caring practice.

Fantastic experience: I go to the Skelinghthorpe branch as it has easy wheelchair access. The staff are very friendly and Loki our dog must like it as well as I don't need to drag him in.

Fantastic experience: I cannot thank VH enough for their care of my elderly dog. We received outstanding treatment and advice at both the Skellingthorpe surgery and Newport hospital. Caring vets, advice given based on what was best for our dog and very reasonable charges. Would 100% recommend.

Fantastic experience: Very friendly and professional. They even light a candle if a pet needs to be put to sleep. They are very punctual with the appointments. If there is a delay, they inform everyone For better than the last vets I used to go to.

Negative experience: took my dog which was very ill and in shock vet took temperature and pulse then gave me a bill for over £800 and said I needed to pay £400 deposit before any treatment given unfortunately the dog had to be put down the next day with a bill for over£1,800 we contacted our insurance when the claim form came through I took paperwork to get filled in to be told that they had gone behind our backs and got payment from insurers without any permission from us all this practice is after money also spoke with practice manager who said she would discuss the situation with staff and get back to me this was never done stay well clear
