Fantastic experience: Traveling with my German Shorthair who injured his paw, and they got us in right away. Spent quality time with us, advised us well, and were so welcoming. Price was also reasonable. Really thankful I found this vet clinic!

Fantastic experience: Yesterday I've lost my beloved cat Gabi it's was so unexpected & heartbreaking But I can't say thank you enough to lovely stuff in this clinic. The nurse who we spoke to was so understanding, full of compassion, warm. She was interested to hear all good memories about my pet & even asked if I want something to remember Gabi. Fantastic experience: I have visited Thistle Vets twice in the last couple of weeks and the services provided have been amazing. Firstly, I had to visit urgently as my family dog was very unwell and nearly 16 years old had to unfortunately be put to sleep. They were super supportive and attentive to my families needs. Secondly was for my cats neutering and just a week later my cat has fully recovered and any questions I had were answered via the PetsApp and I got a response within a couple of hours. Honestly, the best service from a vets i’ve ever had. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Negative experience: I have used thistle vets for a long time, I usually praise them but the clovenstone practice they own is ridiculous! I have went with my ferret 3 times to be told nothing was wrong with him! I paid near £200 for checks to then have my boy heave from pain. I took him to the chesser practice as I couldn’t look at him in this much pain. The chesser practice did proper checks, suggested a health route, gave him antibiotics and I paid less than for getting nothing at Clovenstone! My ferret is now in heart failure due to the practice not being caring enough about the pets they treat. I am now taking all my pets to the chesser practice as I am afraid there is something the current practice didn’t catch.

Fantastic experience: Take my two British Shorthair Cats here.A large professional Practice who actually care .From Reception,Nurses and Vets all very knowledgeable. Also open at weekends Perfect mate. Give him my email - I check my emails once a day so I'll get back to him promptlyne and they are great. Has parking too!

Fantastic experience: I was referred to Thistle Vets by my own vets as we needed an eye specialist to investigate an issue with my cat. The staff were welcoming and Scott has been excellent. I would highly recommend them.

Fantastic experience: We've only been with Thistle for a short time but they have been great. Unfortunately we had to say goodbye to our older German Shepherd but the team at Thistle were absolutely brilliant and the personal service for our boy was beautiful. Also they are great with our younger GSD as well. Would 100% recommend.

Fantastic experience: Great service, registered my dog at around 11am and received a confirmation call about an hour later, booked an appointment for 12.40pm and had the procedure done within 20 minutes. Excellent service and reasonably priced. Staff were all really helpful and friendly

Negative experience: My mum came to the vet a few days ago and got nothing but disrespect from a receptionist. She got rude comments the whole time she was there and was made out to be a bad pet owner when she is not. Do not recommend this vet if this is how they speak to people all the time.

Fantastic experience: My dog who used to be terrified of even entering his old vet likes it here. They know their stuff and helped tremendously when our dog got into the Christmas chocolates.

Negative experience: Unhelpful and unfriendly staff members. Bad coordination in the practice. Receptionist couldn't provide me with basic information and instead of saying she doesn't know or someone more experienced can speak with me, she started to act up and got upset. Saying I was being rude to her. I have left the practice feeling uncomfortable without answers to my questions about trip to EU with my pet. Call from director didn't resolve an issue whatsoever just end up with me leaving the practice for good as he was just as rude as receptionist. They seem to care more about up selling you unnecessary treatment as apposed to caring about your pet. I have spoken with friends and family about what have happened and they agreed and shared similar experience with staff in the practice in fact one of my friends said they left the practice not long ago for similar reasons.

Positive experience: Took a friend with her rather large cat for its check up. Few people in with dogs which was a bit noisy for a few minutes, waited till vet ready and in they went. I sat in reception glancing round what was for sale for various pets and the thing that got me was the price mark up on goods you could buy for at least half the price in shops elsewhere. After about 15min out came my friend and cat she paid bill and left a lot lighter than when we went in.

Fantastic experience: I am very lucky that Thistle Vets are just a few minutes walk from where I live. I adopted my wee Staffie seven years ago and took her in the first day to sign up for the Pet Health Plan and just get her checked over. Over the years we have had a few sore paws and an infected salivary gland and each time they dealt with everything with kindness, compassion and professionalism. I feel very lucky that I found such a good veterinary practice so local to us.

Positive experience: Came to get my cat vaccinated, visit went well. The receptionist told me she gave a appointment for the next week for his second vaccine. Gave me a card with the details on it. I return the next week and after telling the receptionist I arrived I was not being seen to. After calling in again 20 mins later she tells me I have no appointment. Why was I not told this the first time I called? I do not know. I’m not happy that they have no record of my appointment and am currently still waiting to be seen to. However it is a great veterinary. Always available for last minute appointments when I have need of it, so grateful for that. Hopefully this is just a one off.

Negative experience: Definitely Do not recommend, not a professional clinic. Instead of saying “we will do everything for her” and Without any checking the doctor said my dog is going to die ! She’s not going to make it ! He was keep saying that! I was devastated! We Went to the hospital and after 5 days she came back home !!! And she is fine ! So instead of putting people down just do your job! Or change it ! They are not carrying at all about animals!!! Just money counts!

Fantastic experience: After moving house, I kept the same vet even though it was around a half hour drive away. I was content with the care received and didn’t want to change. After a dental appointment however one pet became very ill and I couldn’t take him continuously on such a long journey. I registered with Thistle vets as it was much closer and it turns out, it was the bed decision ever. I really feel that the vet looking after Freddie went above and beyond to give him the absolute best treatment possible. She really listened to me and answered all of my questions and concerns in a helpful, informative, confident and friendly way. On returning with another pet, for a more minor concern, a different vet saw us who was also incredibly informative, knowledgeable, friendly, caring and supportive. I’m delighted that outside of my own responsibility, the care of my pets health, should they need treatment in future, is now managed by Thistle vets. I couldn’t be happier. Knowing that I can turn to them for help is an enormous comfort, I’m so grateful for all that they have done.

Positive experience: I took my cat to the vet as she was seriously ill, my cat was over 20years (human years) so she was a good age. The vet examined her and decided there was nothing could be done and we decided it would be kinder to put her to sleep. The vet took her through to the lab to insert a catheter, Eventually the vet returned to say that her heart had given up and she had passed away. This did upset me, thinking the cat had suffered before her death. I I have taken my animals to Thistle Vets for years and I would still recommend the company.
