Fantastic experience: I have unfortunately had a lot of experiences with vets over the years. Fortunately we found this wonderful vets practice a few years ago - it is without doubt the best decision I could have ever made for the well being of my three dogs. The whole team at V4P are always prepared to go above and beyond for us and our pets. I can't recommend this branch more, they truly make owning pets less stressful.
Fantastic experience: Absolutely amazing practice. The staff are all so kind and caring and go above and beyond every single time. I can’t thank them enough for all the care and support they give my nervous pup.
Fantastic experience: Other than a brief period of time (house move) we have used Vets for pets since my dog was a puppy. I feel in those 8 years, these vets have only got better and better. I have a dog with very complex allergies and I always feel listened to and understood and they genuinely seem to care about Charlie and his well being. They always full explain each and every thing they recommend for Charlie and make sure we understand. They also will listen to us as owners and take our points of view too. Special mention to Effy who is the nicest person & who Charlie’s taken a shine to!
Negative experience: I used V4P for 15 years. Never had any issues until one of my sons & his dog came to stay with us, & registered with this branch of V4P. My son had a poor experience here & complained to the practice manager. They dealt with it & everything appeared to be sorted. One of my dogs was diagnosed with cancer at the pet hospital & palliative care passed onto V4P which I was very happy to agree to. When I called to make an appointment I was told I had to pay £25 deposit, not a problem, but I’d NEVER been asked before to do this in 15 years & 3 dogs worth of care. Over the years we had spent £1,000s here. One appointment alone was £4K in previous visits. I paid via a link & didn’t really question it. After it was decided our dog would need to be PTS I made the appointment at the desk, & offered my debit card to pay the £25 deposit. The receptionist seems a tad startled, she asked why I was offering to pay a deposit for the appointment. I told her that I had been doing this recently. I had never spoken to her when I made the previous appointments. I know understand why. I believe because our address was the same as our Sons ( temporary ) address, we were punished due to his complaint & the procedure which followed. Undoubtedly V4P will reply to this & say deposits are common practice. I’ve since moved to another branch of V4P ( they are franchised) & I’m NEVER asked for a deposit, & EVERY consultation is carried out in a private room, & not in reception area in front of other customers. Since Corrine has had to step back from physical duties, this place has gone to the Dogs, literally
Fantastic experience: The staff here have been absolutely brilliant over these last 2 weeks. Our cat Molly had to have unexpected surgery to remove a bladder stone after becoming unwell and it was such an upsetting and stressful time but everyone here has been so lovely. There was a real sense of genuine empathy and care from everyone, even the receptionists. We can't thank everyone enough for all of the support and for taking care of our Molly these last few weeks and she's now feeling much better

Fantastic experience: From initial phone call to visiting the premises all staff were very friendly. This was my first visit. The vet was very good with my dog who can be aggressive, asked lots of questions about his health and explained the procedure clearly. She also took the time to advise on some other procedures which may be required in the near future. A really great experience for me and my dog and we will be using Vets4Pets again. *Update* I have now been 3 times and nothing has changed. Still excellent service from friendly professional people from the moment you book to the moment you leave after your visit.
Fantastic experience: Want to thank all the staff for taking such brilliant care of my little cat Nelly. I have been to other vets in the past over the years but after getting my new cat I was recommended this practise. The reassurance I received from Kate while Nelly was in for her spay was absolutely wonderful I cannot thank her enough for helping both of us feel better! The care received has been so lovely, Debbie has been so lovely too when I had her in for a check up. Thank you all so so much

Negative experience: I would not recommend anyone who cares about the pet to take them to this practice. My dog was triaged inappropriately. My dog was given really strong anti anxiety medication ready to help settle her which wiped her completely but we wanted to relax her best we could for the surgery to arrive and be told actually we can't do it (triaged incorrectly) and she needs to go to a hospital. My poor dog was all over the place. Which lead to delays in surgery for a tumor and then when I complained about the whole emotional process we had , there was no compassion. The vet agreed a mistake was made but unfortunately the person investigating couldn't seem to admit there was.
Negative experience: £70 for a single guinea pig check up is a bit steep. I've been robbed, definitely won't be back.
Fantastic experience: Great first experience here today with Gizmo kitten. All the staff were great and they absolutely loved her. They were so good with all the animals.
Positive experience: Very friendly and helpful reception staff...especially Ashleigh who helped us. The vet who looked after our dog was lovely and very patient as she's a nervous dog. Lovely and clean. The only negative I have is that the consultation room was very warm and not air conditioned like the reception area.
Negative experience: Wouldn't recommend this vets to anyone after my experience. Only went because it was local to my new address. Took my Springer Spaniel there as he had a growth under his chin. Was told it was nothing to worry about. About 6 months later I was concerned as the growth was getting bigger. They examined my dog and said he had an irregular heart beat. He was xrayed and they said there was pressure pushing down on his lungs. Apart from his growth he seemed in good condition. Went on his daily walks with no problem. Nothing to suggest the problems mentioned. Was given some tablets. The bill for this treatment was nearly £900. The then took a sample of the growth in a syringe and said they think it could be cancerous. After taking the sample the growth done nothing but bleed. Got results back saying tests were inconclusive and they wouldn't be able to remove the growth anyway as it would have meant taking most of his jaw away. Not even a follow up call to check on my pet's welfare. A little time later I decided to take him to another vets. ( Blythmans in Wallsend) as the growth was even bigger now and I was really concerned. The care there was a million times better. Unfortunately I was told that my dog had cancer in his lymph nodes and the growth was cancer. I was advised the best thing was to put him to sleep. I certainly wouldn't advise anyone to go to this vets. Blythman absolutely different class.
Fantastic experience: Excellent service great caring staff definitely recommend
Negative experience: My complaint is about the vets4pets Newcastle, Benton Road. Initially, the receptionist told us something, then denied ever saying it and referred to the terms and conditions. We were told the vaccine wasn't available on two separate occasions and were put on a waiting list. Even after a year of paying for the care plan, the vaccine was still unavailable, and there was no communication whatsoever. When I canceled the plan, they promptly contacted me to inform that my next appointment wouldn't be covered, despite the receptionist initially saying it would be. When i contacted to complain they even had the wrong pet name on the system, but still managed to take 15£ every month for over 1 year. This experience feels like a rip-off, with dishonesty from the staff.
Fantastic experience: We have been visiting these vets ever since we got our old rescue Trooper 5 years ago. He is now 15 and of course he has been getting a lot of old man problems. From the fabulous reception staff who know him well. The nurses and Effie, our brilliant vet. They are all amazing! Thank you
Negative experience: Worst vet ever. They almost killed my dog over a simple pancreatitis. They knew that could be a a pancreatitis but they prefer to not make a test (and obviously not telling me) and keep taking from me a lot of money leaving my dog suffering for a long time taking her almost to death. If you love your pets, avoid this place and take her somewhere else.

Negative experience: Honestly these guys are incredible at ripping people off. Daylight robbery. Over charging on medication. Prescribed meds for my cat for 7 days and they only gave 2 days worth. Triple the amount of medication available online for a quadruple of the price they charged. Same with tablets. Prescribed for 2 weeks and they gave 6 days worth for triple the price online. The first time I went, they added items on the invoice for treatments that weren’t even carried out!

Negative experience: I had a very mediocre experience with this vet practice. My cat has had chronic diarrhoea since I got her. All the vets did was recommend various Royal Canin foods, each time stating I could feed her it straight away without slowly introducing the new food. Every single time it made her so much worse. I had to take matters into my own hands. With a fresh, high meat diet and probiotics, she’s finally ok. Not once did the vets recommend any fibre rich foods, pumpkin, probiotics, higher meat percentage, nothing besides Royal Canin. One of the vets interrupted and talked over me constantly every time I saw them. Overall not a good experience, lots of wasted visits and money, constant stress, I’ve since switched vets and had a much better experience

Fantastic experience: I first went to Vets for Pets (Benton Road, Newcastle) for my guinea pig Bertie that had bladder stones. He was quickly given an appointment and well treated with the appropriate tests and treatment as well as advices for his diet. Fast forward to last Monday where Bertie had to be put to sleep following further tests that showed he had kidney malformation and unfortunately couldn't be cured. I've lost a pet, a friend, but I wanted to thank the staff for always have been so kind, honest and compassionate. They accompanied us through the all process and showed incredible respect and kindness during the procedure. My kids were allowed to say goodbye to their beloved pet and today we received a print of his little paws as well as a lovely note and a card for the staff. It's not everyday that you meet people who are so genuinely kind and caring. Thank you again for everything you've done and for your support, I'm sure Bertie is popcorning free on the rainbow bridge.

Fantastic experience: I really like this place. Staff and Vet are friendly and knowledgeable. The place is clean and spacious, which means it's easy to have a seat without squashing in between other people. Right outside, there are two long stretches of green to walk your dog, and there's a small parking lot to park.

Negative experience: I am disappointed with Vets4Pets. After waiting for weeks, they cancelled our pet's diagnostic appointment merely an hour before it was scheduled. Our pet continues to suffer from distressing issues, and now we are forced to wait an additional week. They attributed the cancellation to the bank holiday, which should have been taken into account at the time of booking. Moreover, we had already administered the pre-appointment sedative medication that I had collected earlier. This turned out to be unnecessary, and now I am required to return to the clinic to obtain more medication. | sincerely hope that our rescheduled appointment will proceed without any further issues.

Fantastic experience: The staff has been ever so helpful and reassuring at every visit, and especially caring with our cat who’s had to have dental surgery over two appointments under general anaesthetic. They‘ve all been very informative and good at explaining everything about the procedure and aftercare. In addition, they’ve dealt with claiming our money back from our insurance very quickly and swiftly. All in all we’ve been very satisfied with our experience at Vets for Pets of Newcastle and I want to say a big ‘Thank You’ for everything!
Fantastic experience: I have recently changed vets so this was my first visit and I couldn’t be happier that we have moved to clearly such an excellent vets! The reception staff were fantastic, really friendly, knowledgable and gave me lots of information. The vet nurse I saw for my dog to have health check before getting spayed (unfortunately I’ve forgotten her name!) was also very knowledgeable. She was friendly and professional, very thorough in the health check and took the time to answer all my questions. My dog is really nervous in the vets and the staff were all so calm and kind with her she was much more relaxed than at our previous vet.

Positive experience: My little dog has been put on steroids for her itchy skin , we have tried a few different remedies, I’m not overjoyed about steroids but we have got to give it a try it’s a low dose The vet explained everything very well It’s just all been such an expense over the years , and I can’t stand my little pet suffering. I can’t understand why pet meds should be so expensive , and the consultation price is beyond affordable

Fantastic experience: Excellent service from reception and the two vets I encountered, the main vet we seen was very friendly and helped make me and Pickles feel comfortable, she could see he was in distress when his back was touched and she didn't push too far to upset him which I really appreciated, I got an appointment quicker than I expected too. Negative experience: Receptionist and nurse was extremely. Basically pressured me into having the appointment on the day or else we will lose the vaccination cycle considering my cat had been on the waiting list for three months. Turned out we actually had more time, so we were given inconvenient incorrect conflicting information. Because we turned up 5min late, receptionist made it sound like it was a penalty/punishment to make us wait for 30+ minutes, until the appointment time is actually over is completely justified and we deserved it. When made aware that there was no rush to have the appointment in the first place, I was badgered by the nurse, who was antagonistic and in turn made my cat more agitated, almost made him fall. The nurse and the receptionist were very incompetent and rude. The vet was perfectly fine.

Fantastic experience: My dog is very anxious at the vets (elsewhere she’s absolutely fine) so I waited outside as her bark is very loud and I wanted to keep her as calm as possible. The nurse came out to get us but realised how nervous she was so did the appointment in the car park so as not to distress her. This was so kind and thoughtful as really helped ease my anxiety too. I was also told that anti-anxiety meds could be prescribed before the procedure which I wasn’t made aware of before so I now feel less worried about coming back for her procedure. Thank you for not only keeping my dog as calm as was possible but for making it much easier for me!

Negative experience: I sent the invoice to my friend who is a vet and she confirmed that I have been charged for some things I shouldn't have. I don't trust this place anymore and I will be sending in a formal complaint and demanding the money back that I was overcharged.

Fantastic experience: Effy the vet that examined Pop was very friendly and attentive. She was thorough in her examination and explanation of the condition and treatment that was required. She gave my a lot of useful advice that would benefit Pop. The overall service was efficient and reassuring.
Negative experience: We booked for our first appointment after moving to the area and they lost my appointment for my dogs vax booster that we waited 2 months for. I showed up and they said they didn’t have us in the calendar and there was no doctor, didn’t care that they completely inconvenienced us… their doctors might be good, who knows because we didn’t get to see one. But their service is terrible and if they can’t even keep their appointment straight then how are they going to keep records and treatments straight. Fantastic experience: Because everyone at vets4pets always has Arya's best interest at heart and they are so caring with her even though she doesn't like going to the vet's they are always lovely and try their very best to make her feel comfortable...i wouldn't take Arya anywhere else unless i had too

Fantastic experience: The staff here are amazing with our two house rabbits. They're so understanding when we have to suddenly bring them in and really do their best to fit us in for appointments. I honestly wouldn't trust anywhere else with them.
Fantastic experience: The vet (Cat) was genuinely attentive and listing to needs of me and my pet. Nothing but support and friendliness from all of the staff. So welcoming for a new pup owner. The package plan is good value for money and everything was explained clearly to me.

Fantastic experience: Extremely friendly and helpful staff, reception explained everything perfectly and the vet really took her time to explain things to me and answer questions even when she was finished checking over my dog. Also felt safe with effective Covid-19 safety measures put in place.
