Fantastic experience: I cannot thank Barnwood Vets for Pets, more specifically ,Katie enough for the incredible work she has done with my pug, Roger, at her weight loss clinic. From our very first appointment, it was instantly clear that Roger was in the safest, most capable, and most caring hands possible. Losing weight can be tough, especially for a pug, but Katie tailored everything perfectly and guided us every single step of the way with so much knowledge and patience. Thanks to her expertise, Roger has officially achieved his weight loss goal! Katie hasn't just helped him drop the weight; she has genuinely given my little boy a completely new lease on life. He has so much energy now, and seeing him run around happy and healthy means the world to me. I truly cannot thank her enough for everything she has done. If you are looking for someone who genuinely cares and gets incredible results, I cannot recommend Katie highly enough! Thank you so much, Katie!

Fantastic experience: The team at Gloucester are fantastic! They gave our dachshund the best care and support, we can’t thank them enough. Fantastic experience: Absolutely brilliant vet team! We are so grateful to you all for your care looking after our cats. Today we met with Sam the vet who was so clear and kind in the appointment. We also see Ina who is wonderful too - along with everyone on the reception and nursing team. Highly recommend this practice.

Negative experience: 5 people running reception just there chatting away about personal stuff not work or even working. My appointment was about 40 minutes late - no one informed me when I arrived. Everyone looked fresh out of university - not one person in their late 30's or older. I only use them as my dog is on the Vac4Life program. All other conditions go to my independent vet who I've been to for the last 40 years and have seen this vet throughout that time. My independent vet just "knows" with perhaps the odd test to confirm. Vets 4 Pets just want to use the technology to confirm a diagnosis, almost like they don't trust their diagnosis. The vet went through a whole sales pitch of flea treatment, wormers, tooth descale, mail clipping, all of which I source and do myself. Very concerned with the amount of packet treats used to 'win' over my dog - really not necessary as she greets people with a wiggly bottom and rolls over for a belly rub. My dog is a working dog (an athlete), but I'd be concerned about the team shovelling treats into a dog and then saying their overweight to an owner - hardly settling an example. I have the kennel cough nose drops as well, which I have to pay for. They never have change, so I have to check the cost beforehand in order to bring the correct amount of cash. This is another example of just wanting the technology. When the vet came out for us, I said about weighing, as the scales are in reception. Surely the 4 people hanging around in reception should have done this when I arrived. All in all, very overstaffed with a lot of sales pitches. Not very professional listening to personal chit chat.

Fantastic experience: We’ve been with vets4pets Barnwood for 2 years now. I have two collies with very different needs. Merlin has been seeing Sam the vet for 5 years - we moved vets to stay with Sam. Sam is fantastic - he loves Merlin and knows our history naturally. He gives amazing advice and has really helped us to manage Merlin’s long term conditions. I learn a lot when I visit with Sam. The whole vets is Arthur’s. Arthur first showed up at 9 weeks old to sort his vaccinations. He sits at reception and helps out and is a favourite when he visits. The whole team follows my very specific instructions around his anxiety and touch fear. They’re so respectful that Arthur has grown to really love visiting and doesn’t even need me there anymore. They’ve supported us through several emergency visits (stollen, ibuprofen, lameness and the sponge of a meat packet!!) and never make us feel stupid. Vets4Pets Barnwood is the most trustworthy, honest and reliable vets. They have excellent opening hours and are always willing to help. I’m so grateful to visit.

Fantastic experience: The best veterinarians you can get!! Stayed for hours after closing to help my cat with a blocked bladder, and gave me all the help and advice i needed to make sure my cat was okay. My cat spent a night in out of hours and a day in Vets4Pets where they looked after him like he was their own and did an amazing job. Thank you so much to Sam and Jannick for what you did, and every time i visit with a problem you have never let me or my cats down, and always put 110% into your jobs. I wouldn't put them in anybody else's hands! PS: Also for anyone signing up with Vets4Pets i highly recommend getting “PetPlan” as an insurer, as they will pay Vets4Pets directly and you only have to worry about a small excess/admin fee!

Fantastic experience: We had a fantastic experience with Sam. He was so understanding and patient with our anxious dog. He was so knowledgeable and helped so much. Our dog is already so much calmer and happier. When ever our dog needs to see the vet we will definitely be going back to see Sam Dispite our dogs anxiety she is always so happy to see Laura (receptionist) who always goes the extra mile to make her comfortable.

The kindness and help from all staff was emotional but helped ease the pain, the candle lit for the occasion is such a tender thing. I wasn't rushed or pushed into anything i didn't want to do. So loving towards my boy when he was under the weather, i would highly recommend this practice for anyone with a furry friend! ❤️

Negative experience: They charge ridiculous amounts of money if you can’t afford for them to help your cat to give birth they will tell you to put the cat down ridiculous

Fantastic experience: We had the best possible experience at this Vets. The Vet Sam was incredible at supporting us through a difficult time with our aggressive dog. He was professional, knowledgeable and you could tell he cares, we never felt pushed to do anything as you can sometimes feel at Vets. We eventually had to put our girl down which was one of the hardest days of our lives, we’re so grateful it was Sam, we felt completely comfortable and happy with the way he took care of her and us. Thank you to the kind reception team too.

Negative experience: I had to get my spaniel sadly put down yes she was 12 but I think she would have had a little bit longer if it wasn’t for this reasoning.i had been taking her to these vet’s for at least a year as she was having trouble walking,They diagnosed her with arthritis (£175 every other month) they didn’t do any scans that’s just from their own thoughts,About a year down the line she then had ear infections so I was paying about £150 every 2 weeks,Then it wasn’t untill the last week of having her she became rather bloated,I took her to these vets on the Wednesday the vet said “I’m struggling to find her heart beat”.(she was bloated which they didn’t pick up).on the Sunday I took her to an out of hours vets as she just wasn’t her self so took it upon myself to do something,Turns out this out of hours vets actually done scans and said she had heart failure.Also she had fluid pressing against her lungs which also had a tiny bit of blood in.they said they could of done test overnight but “would be very critical those 24hrs”.I couldn’t see my girl be put through anymore pain than she was already facing.if only this was caught sooner she could of been on medication for heart failure and at least made her late life less painful.everything she was being treated for all could of been symptoms to her heart failure.such a shame to the family

Negative experience: I took my dog for a consultation as she was unwell and had a sore eye. Vet looked at her eye told me to bring her back in a few days and suggested blood tests Took her home and still wasn't happy with consultation so got second opinion from another vet after a thorough examination it was found she had a corneal ulcer on very same day. Very disappointed this was not picked up during her visit to this practice

Negative experience: I have been paying each month for complete junior health care plan for my dog Vet4pwt was very happy to take my money each month Twice I have ordered 'simparica' for my dog , apparently was ready for collection but each time receptionist said there was nothing ordered for my dog . Booking nurse for my dog was even worst , 3 times cancelled Eventually I have cancelled my Direct debit and they suddenly start care more about my dog lol Just to restart my payment once again Sorry but that's was waste of time and money !

Negative experience: Extortionate charges for medication compared to other local vets. Charges nearly double in some cases for exactly the same medication. Customer for nearly 5 years and was not aware just how much this company overcharges for medication until just recently. Avoid unless you are happy to be ripped off, disgusting!

Fantastic experience: I can tell the staff are genuine animal lovers themselves and have shown great concern about one of my cats being missing at present. My other cat Pixie has been having monthly injections for her Arthritis after being recommended them by lrma the Vet. They have been highly successful in her case and l am so pleased Irma took the time and effort to explain their action to me and monitor Pixie to make sure it was safe for her to have them at her age. This recent appointment for Pixie was for the latest of these injections. Pixie does not have a health plan, but our other young cat, the one who is missing does. I am always fully satisfied with the professionalism and friendliness of the staff at Vets4Pets Barnwood.

Fantastic experience: Polite staff, the vet explained the process with regards to taking a sample from a lump on my dogs side and what happens next, discussed the options for the flea and worm treatments and the rough costs of these.. This was my first visit and so far I have no complaints with the treatment my dog has received.

Positive experience: Took my cat to get neutered here, she's registered with them has been chipped and jab by them and on both visits was treated awful by the vet nurse asking when I was getting her chipped and question about jabs when this is on their records and her vet book was in the cat carrier with logs of the vaccines, very rude and judgemental

Fantastic experience: The staff are amazing. I had an emergency with my cat who was seizing. He wasn't registered at the vets but that was no problem. Sadly he didn't respond to the treatment, so was put to sleep. The vet had explained all the options and gave me total autonomy. I was then allowed to spend time with him to say my goodbyes. The aftercare was 5*, from arranging his cremation to the lovely card I received a few days later. I highly recommend Vets 4 Pets for their outstanding customer care and kind and caring staff.
