Fantastic experience: Lovely friendly atmosphere. I just wish as all pet owners do that the cost of medication for our beloved pets wasn’t so expensive. I would recommend Woods though as I have always had a good experience with the staff there and they are great with my dog

Fantastic experience: Great service when I visited recently with my cat who had a potential abscess. Was able to book a suitable appointment online for the same day. Woods has recently gone through a major refurb and this has made some great improvements to the space. I was particularly happy the there is a small waiting area dedicated to cats which goes a long way to alleviate stress for them.

Fantastic experience: Lovely friendly staff. Asked lots of questions and was generally really helpful about our first dog. Pup was happy to have his jab barely even flinched. He was also checked over and weighed again despite this not being his first visit which is reassuring. He’s doing well.

Fantastic experience: Millie had her annual vaccination and check up today. As usual everybody was friendly and helpful. I’ve used Wood Vets since I moved to the area seven years ago.

Negative experience: I’m really not happy with the experience i had at this particular vets, my 1 year old dog had just undergone major surgery, we brought him in straight after the surgery was done, we arrived there at 10:10pm. He got taken off us within 10 minutes of us being there, and the vet had paperwork that needed to be sorted out, which is understandable, but it was a 30 minute drive to get there anyways you’d have thought it would’ve been prepared for when we arrived? apparently not. me and my partner waited in the room for the vet to go back and forth, at around 10:50 i was waiting outside the door for her to come back to us, as i could hear her laughing with other members of staff, and she looked confused as to why i was in a hurry, as it was almost 11pm, and i needed to sleep in order to prepare everything for his arrival the next day, i asked her what time would i get a phone call to let me know when to collect him and she said 7am. I was up and ready, and received a text saying that he’d been ‘offered’ food meaning he hadn’t eaten, which i understand they can’t help, but no one thought to contact me? my baby was starving when he got home. upon arrival as i decided i wanted him at home, so i know he’ll be looked after, the nurse mentioned that he ‘lunged’ at one of the nurses so they couldn’t give him the tablets he needed, again another point when i feel a phone call to me would’ve been beneficial for the animal. He had a wound on his stomach, and the dressing would’ve been changed in there, yet the dressing they’d applied covered his penis. a breeding ground for infection, which is absolutely ridiculous.

Positive experience: Quick service, excellent staff. However over £65 fo a single, yearly injection is price prohibitive. 5 minute appointment = the cost. May need to change my vet.

Negative experience: Absolutly disgraceful excuse of a veterinary practice, had pets there for years fully insured pumped maybe £2000 into them but when we didnt have money and our dog had a seizure they suggested it was cheaper to have the dog put down if we couldn't afford a consultation. They care about money not animals.

Fantastic experience: I can’t thank Woods Vets enough for saving my spaniel Humphrey’s life. When he became ill, we were told there wasn’t much chance of recovery, but the amazing team cared for him 24/7 for a whole week and never gave up on him. They treated Humphrey as if he were their own and showed him so much love and kindness. They are so dedicated and compassionate, and skilled. Because of Woods Vets, Humphrey is still here, happy and full of life. I’ll never forget what they did for him and how much they cared. I’ll always be forever grateful.

Really nice, clean and modern building, plenty of parking and the staff were all wonderful. My Hamster sadly passed recently but I’m forever grateful for the care he was provided when he wasn’t doing well. ☺️❤️

Fantastic experience: My two cats were very happy to be examined for their annual check up by the friendly and knowledgeable staff at Wood Veterinary Group, Quedgeley - they presented as quite different characters from when I was trying to get them into their pet carriers not 30 minutes earlier! Both were given their annual jab for protection against various diseases, were happy to be handled and given a health check. Advice received was relevant and helpful. Definitely recommend

Fantastic experience: Lisa the vet was incredible with my dog, who has always been nervous of coming to the vets. He's a very vocal dog and in the past that has scared the vet and I've been asked to muzzle him. (he's a chocker spaniel!). Lisa took the time to gain his trust through fuss and treats. The only point he was muzzled was when it came to administering his vaccinations. I understand that whilst most dogs won't ever bite, it is never worth the risk, but that fact that Lisa took the time to get to know my dog and gain his trust meant such a lot, rather than the usual interactions in the past where I've been handed the muzzle from the offset.

Fantastic experience: Woods have been superb to our rabbit family. The round the clock care has saved many of our bunny’s from the illnesses their little complex systems have. Jason Burgess is our Hero, he is amazing and so knowledgable and caring. We travel an hour each way to Woods and it is so worth it. We recommend Woods to everyone.

Always a pleasure to visit here whatever the issue. If only the NHS could emulate this ethos. Our girl Maisie was booked in for a couple of nights for emergency treatment for Acute Hemorrhagic Diarrhoea Syndrome, and she was so ill. The vets, nurses and receptionists were all so helpful, and they took care of Maisie so well while they were treating her of this horrible illness. She is back to her happy, lively self and we are so grateful for all of the help from Woods Animal Hospital! Thank you all so much ❤️

Fantastic experience: Ever since we moved to Woods Vets 5 years ago,we have been more than happy with the service we have received. The vets we have seen have always been very thorough and helpful. They treat our dogs with care and listen to our concerns.

Positive experience: I had a very difficult out of hours visit, but the vet i saw was very understanding and supportive. It ended up being very expensive as well, however he did reduce the cost significantly to make sure I could pay for all the treatment my animals needed.

Fantastic experience: Unfortunately our Bruno few over the rainbow last Saturday whilst at home with his family around him but at 11 o'clock at night after a lot of tears I decided we needed to take Bruno to be cremated. after a phone call with a lovely lady we went to woods vets where he wasn't registered with but took him up and they said we could take as long as we needed to say good bye they were so compassionate. Today after only 6 day we got a phone call today to bring him home one last time the staff are so lovely I will be back soon to register our other dog

Fantastic experience: Rang them just before midnight panicking about my dog having eaten chicken bones. They were very thorough, reassuring and helpful. I was expecting them to tell me to come in so they could charge a fortune before they looked at him, but they were brilliant. I feel they are thoroughly trustworthy and am very grateful for their help.

Fantastic experience: Having been to this vet a lot with my cats, recently had to deal with a few visits in a row, days apart for one of my cats that ultimately ended with me having to make the tough decision to have him euthanised. Everyone who I spoke to throughout the whole thing was unbelievably thoughtful and kind, I was too much of a mess to handle payment on the day so this was done when I phoned a few days later. They were super flexible and kind and they even sent a condolences card in the post. The actual location has recently been refurbished and is lovely and clean, there's a separate waiting area for cats to keep them apart from dogs and it to be less stressful for everyone, one of the days they were really behind and my appointment was about 40 minutes late, they immidiately apologised for the wait even though the reason will have been someone else's pet in a more immidiate need of help, so it wasn't their fault.

Fantastic experience: Great vets.lovely new facilities, lots of space to wait which is great if you have a nervous pet. I would not consider taking my dog anywhere else now.

Positive experience: I cannot fault the care and professionalism of this vet group, but I was blindsided today by a bill I paid for dental work to my dog. Two years ago I paid £470 for the extraction of two teeth, and a general mouth clean. Today for the very same service (except three teeth were extracted), the bill was £811. This is an outrageous increase and will sadly mean I may have to seek another less costly vet for future dental treatments.

Fantastic experience: Jason has been excellent at diagnosing and treating conditions in my rabbits both pasturella, arthritis and mites over the last 12 months. I am very pleased with the results.

Fantastic experience: We have been using this vet for all of our rabbits (who have all sadly passed away) and have always had Jason, who definitely has gone above and beyond to ensure our rabbits have had a great healthy life, and our last rabbit Romeo definitely felt comfortable with him. I'm really glad we had Jason as their vet, we definitely got lucky!

Negative experience: The most uncaring vet I have visited in my life. I took my dog out of hours as she had been getting worse through the day and had not eaten for a couple of days. I explained the symptoms and requested blood tests which were refused. She was given an anti sickness injection despite not actually being sick. I was made to feel insane by the way I was dealt with when I said I knew when she wasn’t well. I ended up taking her to my normal vets the following morning which kept her in all day and found her to have a very bad liver infection. If I’d have listened to the advice of this particular vet and waited a couple of days, my dog could be dead now. Zero care or compassion for the animal and zero sympathy or compassion for me. Will never go back here!! Over £300 for an incorrect diagnosis and unneeded treatment and couldn’t get us out the door fast enough.

Fantastic experience: I wouldn't trust any other vets to look after my pets! They have always shown compassion, help and advice with professionalism and courtesy during all the many years I have used them. From a new young pet to their final goodbyes, any staff I have come into contact with have been amazing. They even helped a friend of mine some years ago, during the night, whose dog was in labour with difficulties and she couldn't make contact with her own vets. I have never forgotten their kindness.

Fantastic experience: I was advised by another vet practice to come here for my tortoise after a burst abscess incident and I must say I was wowed about by the exotic vet Jason and the staff who have helped me . The practice itself is having work done currently but the team have made it work well . The reception staff were kind and compassionate and very lovely to speak to whilst I was panicking. It seems like Jason never leaves as he was able to call me to talk me through my worries before and after my appointment well over closing time. She showed great knowledge and understanding and didn't judge me when I felt awful this had happened . He organised a great care plan which the nurses showed me how to complete on collection for hometreatment. I had never used them before but I'm so glad I'm using them now . I was worrying the cost would be adding up but found their prices extremely fair too. All the staff around were very welcoming. Thank you all so much

Negative experience: What a disgusting veterinary practice, my dog died in your hands you kept him in a cage unchecked and he was covered in feces and urine the cage was in your stock room with all the lights switched off. I just hope one day the NHS will treat you the same way so you know what it feels like. My dog died in pain and suffered in he's final few hours

Fantastic experience: Phenomenal vets. Honestly it is the best in the south of England. Fantastic rabbit specialist vet. The staff are always on hand if you need anything and are so helpful when I've called them up in a total state because one of the animals are sick, they always reassure me as much as they can and talk me through everything when my brain freezes in a panic. I honestly feel so lucky to live close enough to use them as my regular vets. They really care about the animals and that always means so much to me. They know us by name because we see them so frequently and they are always so friendly and ready to help. I wouldn't use another vets now. If you need a good vets, a specialist or someone with knowledge about all animals from lizards to dogs and everything in between then definitely use them. I cannot recommend them enough.

Negative experience: Took our poorly kitten for an emergency appointment. The nurse on the phone was fine. However the vet who dealt with us was absolutely vile, had no compassion, and said right in front of our 7yo daughter that our cat is probably diseased and will infect the rest of the litter. Told us to give up our whole litter to the RSPCA and that the particular cat might just die. Horrible experience. Spent more time judging the fact that our adult female wasn’t spayed than offering any advice on how to care for or monitor our poorly kitten. Horrible experience

Negative experience: When we joined Woods we were really pleased with the standard of service. Unfortunately, since going corporate, standards have dropped and it’s now all about money. In the past 12 months they’ve failed to pass on positive test results, ruined blood tests and got appointment dates wrong. In addition to this they whacked up the price of written prescriptions by 50% (£15 a month) and refused to let us have a larger size bottle of medication because they like to ‘monitor’ the situation - this being a complete lie as they didn’t continuously monitor her. We’ve now moved all our cats to SPA who aren’t in the habit of ripping people off. Written prescriptions are £15 for 6 months and they’ll prescribe larger quantities of medication thereby saving us a fortune!!

Fantastic experience: From the receptionists to the admin team to the vets and nurses, we have always received the best of care with clear communication. And insurance claims are efficiently dealt with too. My German shepherd enjoys her visits.

Fantastic experience: We took our choc lab in after he ate some raisins and the care was top-notch. Detailed history, fast medical intervention, clear care plan, great follow-up advice on best practice and real-life practicalities of after-care. We were really reassured and they did a great job of looking after the dog and calming us down.

Fantastic experience: When our cat became ill whilst we were on holiday in Gloucester, Wood Vets were recommended to us. We phoned at around 8:00am and an appointment was made for 12pm. We just had to ask our own vets to send our cat’s medical records to them…which was done in minutes. We were warmly welcomed by the receptionist who asked us to wait in the segregated cat waiting area. No more than 5 minutes later we were seen by a very friendly vet who was very informative and explained the illness and medication perfectly. We were extremely satisfied with how we and our cat were treated considering we were not from the area. We would definitely highly recommend Wood Vets.

Fantastic experience: There are all the usual vets that are part of large money generating organisations. Wood are not one of them, standards from reception all the way through the business are of the highest level , no it is not a business , they are people who treat your pet as if it were their family. We live 50 miles away and the journeys are irrelevant as they are that good. They care and understand. We have taken a number of pets to them and they have been able to perform miracles. The latest was our 18 month old kitten who we had taken locally and got no real solution to her problems. We decided the best option was to take her to Wood, no surprise , nothing was to much trouble. A fairly serious surgery was followed by first class care. After a week she came home and is improving every day . They are caring , empathetic and know what they are doing. I cannot recommend them highly enough, thank you so much you really do not understand how good you are and how much faith people have in you. I only hope you stand by what you do and never sell out to the money makers. Finally , thank you to all of you

Fantastic experience: I took my dog, Tesla, here for the first time. It is a big, busy practice but we were treated as individuals. The receptionists were friendly and efficient. The vet I saw (Jason) was knowledgeable and took time to listen and answer the questions I had. All in all a very positive first experience.

Fantastic experience: What an amazing vets, managed to get a quick appointment for Weston. Greeted both Weston and myself on arrival, all staff from reception to vets amazing. Katie the vet so attentive and warm, put us both at ease, explaining Weston issue wasn't my fault. One thing I do know they can't be faulted.

Negative experience: Do NOT use this vets. Me and my friend had a puppy stuck in the canal so we rushed her in as thought she may pass away. They tried to charge me 2500 for emergency c-section which is astortionate price. 600 at k9 vets Wolverhampton I recommend everyone go there. Then when I said I only had little cash they REFUSED to give me my dog back till paid 360. Reported me to the police because I lost my temper with them as 3 my puppy’s died in there care. Vile staff. Care more about MONEY than animal welfare!!!!! I will be taking these to court.

Negative experience: Please don’t use this vets! £1000 later for them to send the dog out of there vets claiming they helped him for the dog to then seizer in car and have to be put to sleep by companion care at pets at home , please stay away from these vets wouldn’t even help or look at the dog without £250 up front that’s before the £1000 bill , please don’t let them kill your fur babies , when asking for a break down of why they wanted £1000 for one night there staff on the phone was rude and put the phone down ! Horrible people horrible vets , a soon as we arrived at pets at home they did all they could to make sure both dog and owner was happy and the compassion showed was heartfelt where as these vets just wanted the money

Negative experience: WOODS VET REFUSED TO SEE US IN AN EMERGENCY!!!! We are registered with our local vet SPA in Gloucester and their emergency out of hours vet on Sunday 2nd October was Dragon Vets in Cheltenham. Early Sunday evening our dog began fitting and frothing at the mouth so we rang Dragon Vets and they advised due to the severity of the case we contact yourselves (Woods of Quedgeley) as you were only 10 minutes away, were also holding an emergency surgery and our dog needed immediate attention. We rang yourselves, stated we were not registered with you but were recommended by Dragon Vets to call you straight away. We advised you that our dog had now been fitting for 10-15 minutes without reprieve and it was an emergency. YOU THEN ADVISED US THAT YOU WOULD NOT SEE US AND HELP OUR DOG BECAUSE WE WERE NOT REGISTERED WITH YOU!! This then mean't a long and time consuming journey from the wrong side of Gloucester to the far side of Cheltenham with an extremely poorly dog desperate for medical help. Tiggy passed away in my arms just as we got into the car park of Dragon Vets after what was now, almost an hour of continuous sezures and trauma. She was literally 30 seconds from professional help and we are devastated, heartbroken and traumatised with the fact that we will never know whether she could have been saved if someone had seen her in time. We have since learn't that this may have been possible if she had been seen sooner but also accept she may not have survived. However, this does not change the fact that now we will never know! In our time of need we desperately required help and feel your refusal to see us shows a complete lack of compassion towards animals - the very thing you purport to have!!

Fantastic experience: Absolutely fantastic staff. We had to visit as an emergency, the staff on the phone / reception were supportive and personable and kept us updated on the welfare of our dog. The vets gave us concise information and advised us how best to look after him on our return home. Our dog has not visited the vet before, every member of staff was so kind and we were seen within an hour of making the phone call. Thank you for helping us!

Fantastic experience: They've cared for a succession of pet rats and pet cats. Always cheerful, always caring, always given the impression they genuinely love the animals presented. Prices are fairly average, and I always feel I get what I'm paying for.
