Fantastic experience: We’ve had such a positive experience with this clinic and I’m incredibly grateful for the care they gave my dog. From the moment we arrived, the staff were welcoming, kind, and genuinely compassionate. The vets took the time to explain everything clearly, answer all of our questions, and made sure my dog felt comfortable and cared for throughout every visit.

Fantastic experience: We've visited Oak Barn vets a few times recently with our new puppy and the experience has always been great. A couple of days ago one our cats had an eye issue, I hadn't gotten round to registering her yet, but it was extremely simple, and I was able to book an 8.30am appointment online earlier in the morning. All staff we have seen, including (and especially) reception staff are always incredibly lovely and professional, and the practice itself is beautiful and spacious. Couldn't recommend more!

Harry, the vet we have visited the most, has a genuine care and consideration for both pets and their owners. Fantastic experience: I went on the recommendation of my friend Louis Hoade...I was blown away by the wonderful Vet who knew exactly how to handle Ingrid my rescue dog...she has a very uptight attitude to being handled and touched...so I was relieved to see how calm she was getting her ultrasound done by the amazing Dr Claire Madgwick....hats off to you for keeping her safe and comfortable....she does have a lot of problems that I still don't know about being a rescue...but since she is mine I intend to keep her and give her the best life like she deserves

Fantastic experience: My elderly dog, Mackoy, visited recently. He was treated by Lucy. I was greeted warmly at the practice and Mackoy was treated by name. I was incredibly anxious that he had a mast cell tumour. Lucy examined him, listened to my concerns, noted I am on low income and suggested treatment. She was professional, kind, outstanding... I was tempted to book him straight in for removal of the lump at a cost of £1000 but she suggested aspiration to be sure. I yoyoed back and forth, taking it off immediately would be 1000, but aspiration would be 160 and still might need the op. She was sooo supportive and kind and gave me plenty of time during the consultation to make my decision. I went for the aspiration. She checked several times that I was comfortable with that and reassured me as he went off to have it taken. Mackoy was given cuddles and biscuits and treated like a king. I got the results back yesterday, benign lump. Lucy called me as soon as she had the results. No further treatment needed. I cannot recommend this practice more highly. From start to finish it was incredibly thorough and she saved me money and that's not usual from past veterinary experience.

Fantastic experience: Oak Barn Vets are our regular vet; Dr. Emily looks after our bunnies if they are unwell and for routine care. Dr. Emily is a lovely veterinarian with a genuine love for animals. She is knowledgeable, kind and gentle with our rabbits, as well as the consummate professional. Recently, our bunny was unwell and she saw her promptly at short notice, diagnosed her accurately and administered life saving treatment, with prompt recovery starting the same day. Liz at reception was also very kind and efficient. I highly recommend this practice and Dr. Emily for rabbit medical needs, both routine and acute. It is worth noting that not all vets are knowledgeable or very experienced with rabbits who are quite fragile creatures - please make sure you see a vet with interest, knowledge and experience of these animals - Dr. Emily certainly qualifies!

Fantastic experience: I have only recently starting using Oak Barn Vets and they have turned what used to be a very stressful experience with taking my blind anxious cat to the vet into a much easier experience. It's the simple things such as ease of parking and getting in and out of the car, to the spacious waiting area and welcoming nurses and reception staff. I have to praise Charlotte for being the absolute best and dealing with a very anxious kitty in such a kind and calm manner.

Fantastic experience: I have been bringing my dogs to Oak Barn Vets for a long time, back when it was owned by husband and Wife, Andrew & Louise. When they sold the practice I did have one or two visits with different vets there who I felt were only interested in selling me tests and checks.. once without ever laying a hand on my dog (I had gone for a repeat medication which I had never had a problem getting before but I was told they HAD to physically see my dog before they issued a prescription again) the vet just looked at her computer the whole time and suggested blood and urine tests, despite my dog was fit and well with no issues, we just wanted a repeat prescription for the Propalin which she had been taking for a few years due to urinary incontinence. Anyway. I complained about that visit as I was charged a full consult fee even though the vet didn’t so much as greet my dog when I went in the room. I made sure I saw a different vet on the next visit which is when I met Charlotte. Amazing vet! Super friendly, engaging, interested and knowledgeable. Explains everything and listens to your own thoughts and wishes and works with you on them without judgement. I highly recommend. Yesterday I had more of an emergency appointment and Charlotte wasn’t working so I saw Lucy. Again I was really impressed and happy with the appointment. Lucy was really friendly, engaging with my dog and myself, thorough with her investigations, talked me through everything and together we came up with a plan taking in to account my own preferences, again with respect and without judgement. She was so helpful and I would highly recommend her too. The vets is a really spacious, clean and modern space with plenty of parking outside and a lovely little green area to walk around safely before or after your appointment for a comfort break for your dog. Reception staff are always very welcoming and friendly.

Negative experience: I used to think this clinic was good. After the experience with my dog that died in September I wouldn’t use this place again.

Decided to try Oakbarn vets after finding them on Google and reading all the amazing reviews and seeing the facilities via the websites virtual tour. Our dog was invited for a consultation quickly after we signed her up. Every staff member was friendly, welcoming and helpful. Rene the vet was super kind and made our dog feel very comfortable. She listened to, and checked out each concern thoroughly. The practice is spacious, clean and has plenty of parking. We were so happy with our experience that we signed up to the pet plan straight away - something which we have been wanting to do but had always been reluctant to do with previous vets as never felt truly listened to. Thank you Oakbarn vets for giving our dog (and us!) the best experience.

Fantastic experience: I only have good things to say about Oak Barn Vets, who have been amazing with all of the rats I've brought to see them. It's so great to have a vet who knows what they're talking about when it comes to exotic animals (specifically rats) and Emily has been amazing rach time we've visited. Her and the Oak Barn team recently saved one of my rat's lives, checked over some baby rats and did everything they could to treat my older rat who unfortunately passed away peacefully (and even then they were all so patient and kind about the whole thing). Highly highly recommend, thank you so much for everything you do.

Fantastic experience: I went to Oak Barn Vets because of there great reviews. I wasn't disappointed they were very friendly and very knowledgeable .

Negative experience: I've had great experience with most vets there who looked after my cat and put him to sleep, Dr Claire was amazing. However, I needed medication for my other cat and that was an awful experience. They first told me that they would prescribe it, however hadn't come back to me for a week. I called a few times but they can be difficult to get hold of during the day sometimes. Finally, they told me they needed to see my cat. I have told them that my medication was running out and I needed it soon. I made an appointment on Monday morning and was delayed on route because of a slow moving wide load on the road, there was a lot of traffic. When I got there, I was 10 mins late for a 15 min appointment. My cat only needed a quick check up for them to issue the medication. However they told me that they couldn't see me because it was their policy and they had a busy day. I begged and tried to explain but it was a hard no. The receptionist was cold and unsympathetic, the vet didn't even come out to speak to me. So I drove my 19.5 year old cat who is already stressed 30 mins there and back for nothing during a work day. I have never been late for my appointments with them, and moreover I always had to wait for them. Last time it was aorund 30 min wait with my very ill cat who eventually died but I didn't complain once because I understand some appointments can take longer than others. And one time I am late due to no fault of mine, they treat me and my cat absolutely disgusting. I am appalled at this and have switched vets now. As I said previously, this is a particular experience with this vet and this receptionist. The other receptionist is very lovely and the other vets I've seen there were not heartless but I cannot stay with them after this experience.

Positive experience: Lovely group of people from phone call to reception to vet. A lovely site they have as well. It’s a great location for a vet! I find their treatments to error on the conservative side; which I appreciate and believe is good for all of us. left one star off because I’d like more natural and holistic treatments available. The traditional meds have still not helped my dog or cat unfortunately; and they were in for separate reasons. So that is not just this vet; but I imagine plenty fall short of offering alternative treatments to the conventional ones especially when they are not working. With that being said I will still continue with this vet. The flaw belongs to the industry.

Fantastic experience: We recently went to Oak Barn Vets for our pups lap spay and we were so impressed with everything from the facilities to the staff, to how much comfort our pup seemed there that we have made the switch to them permanently. Ruby is very nervous of vets but the staff make sure we always see the same vet, who really gets our pups quirk and is forming a great relationship with her. The staff always take the time to explain everything, it’s never difficult to get an appointment, and we always feel Ruby is so well looked after.

Fantastic experience: Highly recomend for reactive dogs and kinda and caring team. We moved from our local vet to Oak Barn Vets a few months ago. Our german shepherd is very nervous and reactive (extremely to dogs) and has to be muzzled. Our previous vets couldn't care less about his needs, so we had to find somewhere else. After some research, my partner found this vets which is a half an hour drive away, on the other side of Guildford. It was the best decision we could have made for him. The team here truly cares about your pets. From the receptionists when we first arrived, to the doctors who helped us and our dog. They are so caring and sympathetic to our situation and circumstances and actively listened to us and wanted to help. We didn't know how our dog would react to the staff as he is also weary of people but he seemed to love them. A massive selling point for us is the side entrance into one of the practice rooms which we could request to avoid bumping into other dogs which was our biggest concern. Sadly we had to put our boy to sleep which was a really tough and heartbreaking decision. The vet team supported us and gave us all the time we needed on the day (I may have over stayed our appointment slightly) but they were very supportive and kind to us and made sure our boy was looked after through this process. We picked his ashes up a few days ago and the receptionist was so kind. He was in a beautiful box with a sympathy card signed by the pet crematorium which I didn't expect but was comforted to recieve. I cannot fault this place. The facilities are perfect and the team are full of wonderful people. If we decided to eventually get another dog we would without hesitation go back.

Positive experience: We are happy with friendliness of the staff and quality of care provided. However, prices at this practice became way too high and not really transparent. Even for simple stuff like issuing non-urgent animal health certificate (likely just filling, printing and stamping pre-filled template in a computer) you are charged £230+, without providing any actual care to the pet (the actual vaccination is of course extra and you pay twice for consultation). We now prefer doing travel certification, vaccinations, getting prescriptions renewals, etc. elsewhere at fraction of the cost and save this practice for actual heath issues. By default they also don't give you receipt with cost breakdown (just a credit card slip) unless you explicitly ask which doesn't feel transparent. For AHC appointment we were asked to pay upfront which felt weird.

Negative experience: My first phone call to this place the receptionist was fairly friendly. Took down some information and said one of the vet nurses will call me back with a quote for a couple of procedures I enquired about. I called back the next day to follow up as I had not heard anything back, but was told that there was an emergency hence the delay. I said ok I understand, but do you know roughly when I can expect to hear back? Receptionist said ‘I don’t know, I can’t tell you” and that was the end of that conversation. She hung up the phone without even saying “bye”. This was over a week ago and I still haven’t heard anything back. I guess they’re so far stuck up their own A holes that they don’t care about getting new business or customers. To be fair, the rest of the veterinary practice might actually be ok as I have not spoken to them, but the receptionist I spoke to needs sorting out as she’s driving potentional new customers away with that stinking attitude.

Fantastic experience: Wonderful local vets. My dog has been cared for here since we got him (Oak Barn was a recommendation from a friend), in the 15 months we’ve had him he’s had 2x jabs, a broken tooth removed, a broken nail removed, painkillers for a sore tail and burnt neck after stealing a roast chicken! Every single visit he is greeted affectionately and given cuddles and consequently loves going to the vets and trills in the waiting room as he’s so excited. Our experience is that the vets here really care about the animals and the owners, they are genuine and I happily recommend them.
