Wallace Vets - Broughty Ferry

Fantastic experience: Brought my Frank for an appointment which unfortunately resulted in having to say goodbye. I can't thank the receptionist, vet and nurse enough for the care and compassion that was shown to our beloved pet but also to us as owners. Would recommend the practice to anyone. Thank you all once again for being so kind to my boy.

Positive experience: Generally very good, but one of the vets neglected to mention something to us that they entered in our pups records and we were subsequently unable to claim for it on our insurance when it later became an issue, costing us ££££s for something that our policy covered.

Fantastic experience: Last week our little Sheltie ( Robbie) was taken from us due to his ongoing illness. We can't thank the Vets and Nursing staff enough for the way they conducted themselves in administrating due care and attention whilst Robbie battled his condition. Also, sincere thanks to the Receptionist Staff who displayed compassion and care when we were visiting the practice on a daily basis. Wallace Vets gave us first class attention through our time with them. Broughty Ferry is served by an excellent team of professionals. We are lucky to have them.

Fantastic experience: Had to use the out of hours emergency vet service tonight for the first time. It was for my 5 month old puppy, Onion, after I thought he had a stick stuck in his throat. I called the emergency line for Wallace Vets in Broughty Ferry and they got us seen within the hour, with an appointment at midnight. Alice, the vet who saw us, was absolutely brilliant with Onion. She was so kind, calm and caring. She quickly but thoroughly ruled out all the more serious possibilities before discovering that Onion had actually knocked one of his loose baby teeth out of alignment, which was what was making him look like he was choking. I honestly can’t thank Alice enough for how reassuring and professional she was throughout the whole appointment with little Onion. I’m also on the Unlimited Pet Plan, which meant the emergency consultation didn’t cost me anything tonight. For anyone not on the plan, the consultation would normally have been around £230, so it really proved its value. Very grateful to Alice, thank you.

Fantastic experience: I can’t praise this vets practice enough. Our boy Obi was unwell for several months and the staff were amazing on every visit. At the weekend we had to make the difficult decision to put him to sleep and Mairi was outstanding. She talked us through what would happen next in a compassionate and caring manner and was so professional, the whole team were. Wallace took paw prints and a hair clipping for us and arranged a suitable pet cremation service for us. I can’t thank the team enough for their care given to Obi.

Fantastic experience: Contacted Wallace Vets through Petsapp as my newly rehomed dog was acting weirdly all of a sudden, they were very quick to respond and when I asked to come in for an appointment, they booked me in very quickly! My dog is quite nervous currently as everything is so new for her and Wallace Vets were very accommodating. They made sure she was comfortable and could walk straight into the room with no distractions. Rosie was incredibly gentle and sweet with my dog and made the whole thing as smooth an experience for my dog as possible.

Fantastic experience: I can't praise Wallace Vets enough. The service is outstanding, the reception team are lovely and the care and understanding we feel from each vet is second to none. I have to highlight one vet in particular- Niall. From the day we brought our Boston Terrier in as a tiny puppy to now, Niall has been so kind and full of advice and knowledge of the breed. His calm and genuine nature is so reassuring. When our dog had surgery, Niall talked us through the process with great detail, the surgery was a success and the after care was exceptional. I will always recommend Wallace Vets and I am so glad we found them. 10/10.

Negative experience: Repeatedly tried to get me to put the family dog down, quoted 2.4k for surgery parkside vets did for 1.2 and the dog is now fine, money not pet focused. Was told by a employee called Fraser he "understands I'm guilty for not being able to care for my dog properly" after saying I couldn't afford 2.4k upfront. Absolutely shocking behaviour from a group claiming to care about animals.

Negative experience: Medication wasn't ready, same old story with this place it seems. I did get what I was looking for, in the end. I remember a time when they were the best vet in the area. Shame things have gone so downhill.

Fantastic experience: We have used these guys for years, recently started to take our rescue dog here. He can be very nervous with new people and 9/10 times will shy away in to a corner, we are building up on his confidence but at the present moment he has very little trust in new people. Went along on Sunday and i can't stress how amazing the vet was with finley, to the point where she was able to do all the checks needed and he had enough trust to allow face pats. Very grateful for the time these guys took to allow my dog to feel comfortable in a new space.

Fantastic experience: I cannot express how grateful I am to Wallace Vets! Even though I’m not registered with them, I called in a panic when my cat had an emergency after hours. My own vet was closed, and the nearest emergency clinic was 50 minutes away. The receptionist and vet at Wallace Vets were incredibly responsive, calming, and compassionate. They talked me through exactly what to do to care for my cat, easing my worries during a stressful time—all without charging a penny. It’s clear that they genuinely care for animals and their well-being. I couldn’t be more thankful for their kindness and professionalism!

Fantastic experience: We had Kaos our XL Bully neutered yesterday to comply with the new government legislation. We were very apprehensive about the procedure as there's always a risk with these things and also his breed we didn't want him judged treated any different. We booked him in 3 weeks ago and the receptionist was lovely, really helped to put our minds at ease. We arrived at the vets and the staff were lovely, The vet Becca I think her name who was performing the Operation explained what was going to happen and was great with Kaos. We were kept informed and contacted to let us know how everything went. They also advised us in-between his paws were a bit red and to keep an eye them, very pawsitive experience. Thank you all for looking after our boy ♥️

Positive experience: I moved to Wallace Vets after a bad experience with my cat at another local Vet. Find them friendly and always get an appointment quick but totally disgusted by the extortionate consultant charge, given that we have a cat & dog. My recent visit was with our dog, had a tick on her head, which they removed & was prescribed a flea treatment & cost was £98!!

Fantastic experience: I can't thank the team here enough. Vet Kerri operated on my boy, Archie, two weeks ago, and I will be forever grateful to Kerri for that and the positive outcome. The Wallace's team were amazing in caring for him (and me!) the following week. Special thanks to Nicola and Stacey as I had most contact with them, but I know the wider team all played a vital part. The reception team were so kind and helpful every time we had to call or visit. Thank you all.

Fantastic experience: We recently used Wallace Vets Broughty Ferry for our young cat Oscar who was knocked down and had broken his femur. A huge injury to be honest however from the late Friday evening arriving at the practice , his operation from Niall and the wonderful aftercare from the team , I can’t recommend them enough. They called and text me everyday to keep me posted about Oscar and even nipped out to buy his food he prefers. 5 stars for every department. Highly recommend ... Thank you Team Wallace Vets

Fantastic experience: An average appointment is £60, but can easily double with prescriptions. However, this seems to be standard across most clinics in the country. There was a time when I would get frustrated with every invoice from Wallace, feeling overcharged. I kept quiet but was always dissatisfied. That changed last year when my dog needed a minor procedure under sedation where he was kept there for 5 hours. I was bracing for an outrageous bill, but to my surprise, the £100 cost was similar to many standard appointment fees. They had even estimated double that upfront. I asked them to double-check as was confused, but it turned out my dog didn't require everything originally planned like a nail trim, hence the lower price. They easily could have charged me for those extra services. This makes me suspect (could be mistaken) that perhaps routine treatments are priced a bit higher so that when your pet does require more complex care, you aren't hit with an extreme bill all at once. - Their PetsApp is brilliant for live chat, sending photos, booking appointments - very innovative. And having used it countless times, the staff are always highly responsive. - I can't recall EVER having trouble getting through on the phone. Your call is always answered promptly and the staff genuinely care about your dog's wellbeing. -The vets here are absolutely tremendous and love my dog as much as he loves them. I've never once questioned their expertise. They're always happy to patiently explain things in a kind, friendly manner. - The same goes for the receptionists - brilliant staff throughout. Kind, friendly and helpful, though overworked at times.

Fantastic experience: My beautiful Saluki lurcher sustained a horrific injury on Friday night out of hours. She received the most incredible, dedicated and diligent care imaginable. Unfortunately, despite the very best care, her injuries were too severe and she passed late on Sunday night. I was there with her and we were both treated with the absolute best of care imaginable. I will always be indebted to the fantastic team at Wallace, especially Sylvia, Fiona, Nicola and Alice. I asked for paw prints hours after I left in tears, and Nicola personally delivered the most beautiful ink impression, cast and some of my puppy girls hair in a beautiful vial. I have used Wallace veterinary centre for over 10 years and absolutely love the team. Words will never be enough to express my thanks and gratitude for how well my beautiful girl was treated, and how respectful and loving the team was. Thank you is simply just not enough. I'm devastated that a normal bed time walk on the beach ended in such tragedy, but comforted by the care we both received.

Fantastic experience: Phenomenal service from start to finish. Rushed my dog in on a Sunday afternoon which turned into emergency surgery. The aftercare over the next 10 days when she was in and out the vets every single day was unbelievable

Positive experience: Jac really quite ill with kennel cough. He has been prescribed lexicon which he has been taking. Not much improvement.

Negative experience: Dire. Failed to spot a simple ailment, and we were ignored and fobbed off, several times. We changed vets when our dog began passing blood. Thank goodness we did, or we would have lost our dog. The new vet identified the issue on the Ssrueday evening, emergency appointment and our dogs life was saved. Go with your gut, if you know something is wrong with your pet, NEVER accept the diagnosis of a vet who seems happy to take money for various appointments where you are sold different food stuff etc. If your vet refuses to listen to you then don't continue wasting your time or money. No amount of money will bring back your pet. A vet needs to look at each dog as unique and diagnose each one, not tell you he knows best and ignore the facts.

Fantastic experience: Where to begin, our darling springer ella fell ill 4 days ago, we took her to see ellie the vet. Ellie was the most compassionate caring vet we have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Unfortunately after tests we were given the sad news in person that our darling fur baby was in serious decline and had to be placed to sleep, Ellie the vet arranged for us all to be with her and her passing was peaceful. Ellie made sure we were all ok and was amazing throughout. We are so grateful to ellie for making our heartache that little bit easier...

Fantastic experience: Our cat was treated a few months ago by the broughty ferry practice and throughout all his treatment we were informed and aware of all medicines and procedures he needed for his condition the staff are so much more kinder and compassionate than other vets we had previously been to obviously just my opinion Sadly our boy had to be put to sleep 2 weeks ago and the whole process was most comforting and peaceful for him we were not in any way rushed and special opening was arranged so we never had to travel with him I can’t recommend this practice enough for anyone concerned They are without doubt the most caring and compassionate of all vets in Dundee not to mention the massive difference in cost compared to the previous one I just want to say thank you to each and every one of you

Positive experience: Called at short notice after my dog hurt her leg and wanted to make sure it was nothing serious. The vet was great. In the rush I forgot my wallet but expected I would pay online, as is the norm in these Covid times at Wallace Vets. What I didn't appreciate, was the way I was spoken to by the member of staff at the front desk, who perhaps was having a bad day, but rather than prepare my invoice, decided to hit me with a snide comment that I don't forget my wallet next time. Get her on a customer care course sharpish.

Fantastic experience: Had to rush my 12 week puppy to the vet after she was stung in her paw, the vet was so nice and understanding and I'm glad I'm with this vet with both my dogs.
