Fantastic experience: Amazing vets, great staff. My dog Milo had surgery with Gokhan and others and they did such a great job, milo was himself within a day I couldn’t believe it, everything looks great and the support has been amazing. Milo has taken such a loving to the receptionist Charlotte, she’s amazing with him. Such a lovely welcoming vets, all staff go above and beyond to help, no question feels silly with them.

Fantastic experience: We attended today with our beloved rescue Simba. Simba had Leishmania which is a condition not normally seen here in the UK - it is more prevalent in other areas of Europe. We have had issues in the past with other vets where we have felt stigma against us due to bringing a rescue with this disease into the UK. The vets at Vets4Pets Preston are from a diverse background and clearly have working knowledge which made our experience much easier. Unfortunately Simba lost the fight today and we had to make the difficult decision to send him over the rainbow road. Dr Alina was our assigned vet and we cannot express how thankful we are for her compassion, advice and understanding in making this decision. We were treated with respect and sensitivity and given time and space when needed. Although this experience is never easy, we have come away reassured we have made the best decision and Simba was in good hands at the end. Thank you Dr Alina and the rest of the staff at the practise.
Fantastic experience: Very welcoming and friendly staff. Asoon as you get to the reception you are greeted with smiling faces especially towards your pets. I have 2 cats a British shorthair and a ragdoll kitten which always grabs the attention of the staff, you can really tell they love their job and animals. The vets are super helpful, knowledgeable and happy to answer any questions or concerns that you have towards your pets. Always putting the pet first

Negative experience: Unfortunately we had a really bad experience here, unsure if this was a one off. We took our 7 year old cat Leo in as he was acting a little out of character and quite lethargic, we informed the vet that Leo had been born with a heart condition that we were aware of and was (as far as we knew) not an issue. The vet did some tests on him and told us that as nothing had come up in the tests, Leo must be experiencing extreme heart failure and would not survive the night - our only real option was euthanasia as this would be the kindest option for him. Obviously devastated, my mum tried to inform the vet that she would need to take Leo home first and discuss with the rest of the family as he was a family pet. The vet became quite insistent that anything bar euthanasia was cruel and my mum should make the decision now. Fortunately mum did not listen and decided to take Leo home for us to say any goodbyes/make a family decision. It has now been a week since that appointment and Leo is essentially back to normal (bar a slightly reduced appetite). Although obviously elated that the vet was wrong, we can’t help but feel upset that she was so insistent about my mum making a decision there and then about euthanising him. There was no compassion shown despite my mum’s obvious devastation and the vet even asked if the decision to take him home was “due to religious reasons”. Unsure if this was a one off, however we have since visited another vet in Preston who were much more accommodating and supportive, we will not be using this branch again.

Negative experience: Where do I even begin! I took my cat here yesterday with the symptoms that she has not been eating, drinking nor toileting for a few days, she’s an old cat. Do not think that these people have your pets interests at heart the don’t!!! Not at any point did the vet check my cats mouth, which in my opinion should be routine for the price they charge. They did however, give an antibiotic injection ? And give me 2 gabapentin to give my cat with food!!!! SHE CANNOT EAT how is this going to work! The reasoning for the gabapentin was because the vet couldn’t take a blood test! This was £100. The next day Kitty still no better of course, they kindly offered to hospitalise her for an extra £600!!! To still not find the issue! I took Kitty elsewhere, she has a very treatable abscess which should have been picked up!!!! When I explain the issue I get told ‘ I’m not clinical but I’m sorry’ !!! Oh well that’s ok then, no wonder you were phoning several times to see if I was brining her in!!!! Telling you that I was considering putting my beloved cat to sleep!!! Thank god my daughter followed her gut and we went for a 2nd opinion!
Negative experience: Very Polite , But unfortunately Not a great Vet at all! Tried to charge me extra while in consultation! (Which they did Previously too) and seemed like they purposely gave me the wrong medication for my dog when it clearly wasn't an allergy it was Mange! They said "buy this and if it gets worse it is Mange then come back and buy the other medication!" It got worse but I went to another vet instead as I refused to pay them more money when they must have known the original problem as the symptoms were very clear! Very disappointing.

Fantastic experience: The staff here from reception to surgeon were supportive at every visit. I shouldn't name names, but the staff at Riverside were horrible in comparison. At V4P, you really get the sense they care about your pet. I wish I could give them 6 stars.

Fantastic experience: Had to take my pup Colin into the vets as an emergency due to him eating something he shouldn’t! All staff where amazing they had reassured me all the way through and the care Colin received was brilliant (even though he was a little naughty when hospitalised and didn’t like the kennels) had to take him back a day later due to him vomiting and again nothing was too much for them, they had him in straight away and was seen by the vet who explained everything to me. Absolutely fantastic team. Hopefully we don’t have to go back in the nicest way, but if we needed any veterinary care in the future this is where we will be coming. Thanks again to you all.

Fantastic experience: My Cavalier had a seizure 6 weeks ago. He seen a lady vet As Josh was away. Was ok ish .Then had another seizure early hours today 30th jan.. So I took him to vets seen Josh the vet very good vet and he cares. Gave him a good check over got some meds for him. Best vet. I've got my 2 cavaliers with. The Receptionist are great to and some of the vet nurses. .

Negative experience: Myself and my family purchased a new lovely pet for company for my cat we have had a while they are both Sphynx cats.We had had our new kitten for a week and she was fitting in perfectly - she was on the slimmer side but we thought she will gain weight once home with us and not sharing with her litter mates. We noticed she has an upset tummy with really loose watery poo so we called vets4pets for her to been seen urgently - the vet we seen gave us some treatment for parasites and said she was a healthy cat, food change could of resulted in the upset tummy. Even we been before on monday awell asking about watery poo and same day get her second injection and microchip.. We believed the professionals and took their word that our cat was perfectly fine and will stop loose poo after treatment. And then my cat started to act strange and become very lethargic I was concerned and rang vets4pets for an appt this was a Saturday evening - they said they couldn’t see her without payment of £300. This payment just for walk in to the door without medication she would need. Even if she would die we still have to pay this money. So I had to watch her suffer and when we got up the next morning after 2hours sleep from being with her all night she had passed away. I want to make others aware of my situation and hope nobody has to experience what my family have over the past few days. We trusted our vets and they failed us and our poor cat

Fantastic experience: My cat had been taken to the vets by a stranger after he had been hit by a car. Unfortunately he died but Jayne was able to help us identify him through pictures and laid him peacefully with a blanket for us to see him.. she then went through all our options and we decided to have him cremated & then bring him home where he belongs

Fantastic experience: I have a pet plan in place and the surgery e-mail when the annual vaccinations are due, give me a prompt appointment when I phone and are friendly and gentle with my border collie. I also had his nails clipped and the vet undertook a thorough health check, which was all included in my pet plan. My dog had a cut deep between his pads on a front paw towards the end of last year and we had I think six visits to the vet for dressings and check-ups. Thd appointments were always on time and great care was taken of my pet - I couldn't recommend this vet practice enough.

Fantastic experience: when i had my consultation with the nurse before the operation everything was explained to me in full exactly what was going to happen on the day and what was best for my pet. i came back the following week with my pet and was met by the surgeon who explained everything to me again and answering any questions that i had he was very polite and helpful.

Fantastic experience: The Vet was extremely helpful as I had really bad anxiety before my appointment as Yoshi became poorly 10 days after his first vaccinations he had also been given medication around the same time, as I still wasn’t sure which had caused his illness I was very worried about giving him is second vaccinations. The vet looked back into Yoshi history he explained that his vaccinations wasn’t mentioned there for I was happy to go ahead with Yoshi receiving them very professional and extremely helpful, thank you so much for doing that. Negative experience: It’s taken me 4 months to write this review, but here goes. We used Vets 4 pets for our little French bulldog because due to my partners line of work we moved around the country often & they are nation wide vets. We took Rex to the vets often (for boosters etc) and the vets knew his situation and how he feels towards other dogs & the vets. Unfortunately, our little boy became extremely poorly with a throat infection which made it difficult for him to breathe. We called the vets & they told us to bring him in. I told them his situation again on the phone and they said they where “aware” of this and have it on record. We took him into the vets that morning (at this point he was struggling a lot to breathe). What a horrifying, heartbreaking moment for us and for our boy. When we arrived the receptionist took Rex off us and took him to be weighed where there was a bunch of other dogs. I screamed “he’s not ok with dogs, please wait” the lady did not listen…. She then took Rex into a room, within 5 minutes of being there Rex was anxious, couldn’t breathe, stressed, scared of the other dogs, trying to bark….this was the first stressful moment for us all which led to an unforgettable series of events. After this it was apparent that Rex was seriously poorly & the vets advised that because he was anxious and wouldn’t allow any vets to look at his throat , they put him under to have a look at him. Time had passed & the vets said that he had a throat infection & it was bad. In this time they explained that we had to pay a large lump sum of money for them to proceed, we had no insurance and was left with no choice. The only “professional” part in this process was the gentleman who did keep us updated however, we was both in floods of tears & constantly told we had to pay “another £100” another “£300” etc… and in this time wasn’t given a private place to calm down and think about the most suitable option for Rex or wasn’t given any advise at all! After a long day, the vets said they had to wake Rex up however, if he doesn’t calm down we would have to think about putting him down…… by this point my husband and I where distraught & would pay any amount of money for Rex. The vets wouldn’t allow us to take Rex home to settle him whilst he calms down & we was left with a very hard decision to make. After Rex came round , let’s just say it wasn’t good & to this day I am haunted by the lack of advise given , the lack of privacy and support from the vets…. At the end of it all after losing our little boy, the vets then asked us for an additional lump sum of money!!!!!! Right after we had just had our baby put to sleep. I will never forget the feeling and regrets of using this vets and the whole day. I can’t put into words the hurt I still feel to this day & the pressure the vets put on us. After this we was waiting Rex’s ashes the vets told us “Friday” I rang again, they then told us “next Friday” I rang again… the receptionists where not trained in dealing with grief at all!!! Or dealing with anxious dogs. Honestly do not recommend this vets, the hardest most heartbreaking thing we have every had to experience. Rip to our boy Rex

Positive experience: Noisy and a bit overwhelming for someone neurodiverse. Forgot my sunflower lanyard and was treated a bit coldly for not being neurotypical. Could do with sectioning off the top balcony to make it easier to hear people speaking when the shop downstairs is busy.

Fantastic experience: Tilly was in for his annual Vacs, however I mentioned a problem with his breathing and Josh and his team went above and beyond to help treat tilly and get him better. Tilly ended up staying for the day whilst they tried to diagnose his problem. The teams communication was outstanding, making sure I was aware of everything they was doing for Tilly over the phone every hour. Josh managed to stabilise Tilly and he came home with me at the end of the day. We went back the next day for another check up and have been referred to a cardiologist and the waiting time is only two weeks which is brilliant. I can't thank Josh and his team at Vets4pets enough for all their help with Tilly!

Fantastic experience: We rang early morning for an emergency appointment for our newly rescued cat who was crying in pain. Throughout the morning, as busy as they were, the staff were very accomodating. Unfortunately we had to put him down. As difficult as it was, the vet and the friendly receptionists put us at ease. I recently received a handwritten condolences card through the post which I am forever grateful for. Thank you once again for all your hard work and kindness.

Fantastic experience: I had an emergency with my new kitten, my normal vet couldn't see us despite it being emergency, I called another vet and they couldn't see us either. Vets4Pets saw us that day even though we weren't previously registered. Very helpful and thorough and supportive.

Negative experience: I took my dog for his yearly check up and jab which I pay £14 a year for, and thought that the check wasn't up to scratch. I had to ask a few questions to get her to check things and as my pet has serious ongoing allergy problems, (for which I have paid thousands of pounds as he was only covered for 12 months on Petplan for each illness) I asked for ear medication and skin antiseptic to keep him comfortable for which they tried to charge me £90plus. I had asked for a prescription before now and have been charged £20 per item and as the ear stuff was £15.77 and eye stuff was £7.79 on line, the £40 for the prescription made the price £63.56 which is ludicrous as that cost more than the items themselves. I asked for a prescription instead of paying the £90 but was told that she was too busy and I would have to come back later that day. When I was working I could afford to pay these extortionately marked up prices (I realise they have to make a profit but 400% !!!) but am retired now I only have a my pension. Really annoyed as apart from the horrendous prices they have been reasonable although they seem to think we are all loaded.

Negative experience: First phone call to register my new kitten was great, and paid £75 up front for her vaccinations, however before my appointment I noticed her eye was shut slightly so asked if they could look at her eye, they said yes but it would cos an additional £36 in the same appointment to diagnose her eye, which I obviously agreed. She apparently had an ulcer at this point so prescribed her with a human eye ointment which all together came to £52. The vet didn’t do any health checks on her, or tell me what vaccination he used etc. like they usually do and write it all down, but I paid the rest and went on my way. When I got home, the eye ointment was literally £5.99 from Boots. Anyway, they wanted to check her eye again a week later, so when I rang up, they wanted ANOTHER £36 off me for the appointment, but this time when they checked her eye (the same way they did it in the first appointment) they charged an additional £11 to put ONE drop of dye in her eye (my boyfriend took her so didn’t know any different) and then went on to say looks like it was just a scratch on her eye. Her 2nd appointment came round for her 2nd jab, and I got a call 3 hours before her appointment saying they don’t have that vaccine anymore and because it’s been out of the 4 week period she would have to start the vaccinations again (they suggested the 2nd date) so my mind was blown at this point. They wanted £50 ish for her jabs again, so my boyfriend refused and they couldn’t explain why we should pay again considering we paid £75 for a course. They then called 2 hours later and said there will be no additional charge and we can bring her in for her vaccinations again (how convenient). It seems it depends what vet you get, because the nurse did her vaccinations the 2nd time did a full health check and wrote everything down for me, and so did the second visit. Overall, I’ve never been to such an inconsistent vet with random prices with no explanation. I wish I read the trust pilot reviews on how money making this vet chain is. I would avoid this place unless you have a bottomless pit of money.

Negative experience: Had to take my dog for a check up and treatment, £70 it cost for swab, tablets and check up, a week later for a follow up £80 for another swab and check. Told to go out of room so he could do another swab ?? Phoned up to see why it cost so much for the receptionist to put the phone down when she couldn't answer why it cost more this time round, said i was talking in an aggressive manner....i didnt swear or anything i was simply asking why it cost more. Needless to say i wont be going back there. Cant answer a simple question on why it cost more for less treatment

Fantastic experience: 1st time since the pandemic have taken Esme and she has been alone. Always no problem, thus time really nervous but the Vet was great. She managed to get the Kennel Cough inher nose so quickly, I think she shocked herself

Fantastic experience: Very kind and understanding with my cat. All vets and everyone I interacted with was very friendly and helped put me and my pet at ease. They worked hard with my cat as she was aggressive previously but they managed to weigh her and do a full check and vaccinate her. Fantastic experience: Rang for advice and spoke to Lauren who was able to explain treatment and options, after also speaking to the vet in case they needed to physically see our cat before prescribing.
