Fantastic experience: Lovely, professional and friendly- always excellent service and great at calming our cats when they have to go.

Positive experience: Our kitten experienced complications after a routine spay and required follow-up surgery. The practice waived the additional fees, which we appreciated. Practice Manager Charlotte was very helpful in resolving the issues and was attentive and supportive during our follow-up appointment. She also kindly helped to shave our kitten, whose fur had become matted from wearing the protective suit. Icesis, one of the vets, was also very kind and caring during the second surgery. She provided reassurance when I was very worried, which meant a great deal. Unfortunately, my experience with vet nurse Jo Smalley was very different. I found her manner to be rude and combative during an already stressful post-operative situation. It was disappointing, particularly as she is in a front-facing role. I noticed other reviews mentioning a rude receptionist, and I suspect this may refer to the same individual.

Fantastic experience: Willow needed urgently attending to after becoming quite unwell in a short period of time, I contacted the vet in the morning and she was seen within the hour, admitted and given the urgent medical attention she needed. Suanne talked me through every step of her plan and kept me updated throughout the day, I really did not need to worry knowing she is always in the best hands. I am eternally greatful for Suanne and her team for always being there when I need them. Their kindness and compassion is on another level, I wouldn’t take my girls anywhere else. Forever greatful to all who looked after Willow she is now hopefully on the mend and back to her quirky little self

Negative experience: I cannot morally recommend this place to anyone. Since this surgery has changed hands it's sadly gone way downhill. Had my cat here on Monday. Struggling with his balance. But alas, didn't take his temp or even look at his ears. Which for me was the final straw. I did have three cats registered here but no more. With fees varying for the same thing over the last couple of years . A distinct lack of any clear pricing I find alarming. Particularly in these tough times. For some reason I continually have to ask for a receipt of what treatments etc I'm charged for but the amount is different everytime and reception staff seem unwilling to give these invoices / receipts to pet owners. To see my animals (which are members of our family) it saddens me to see a company like this use them as cash cows. To put this in perspective my cat was seen by another vet this morning and has started an antibiotic course which could have been started on Monday. Please think carefully before you bring your pets here as I will not bring another of my pets here. I understand the business owner has a right to reply here but I'm not interested in anything they have to say or entering any form of dialogue. Action spraks louder than words.

Negative experience: Utterly despicable vets, Medivet have ruined another practice!! When a rabbit stops eating its usually one of 2 things, Teeth or GI stasis. Pepper was off her food, we brought her in and the vet listened to her guts, there was movement but didnt then bother to check her teeth. Instead administered a pain relief injection and prescribed pain relief meds without checking her teeth to see if she needed them, at a high cost obviously!! We were also given medication for her guts despite being told already this wasnt the issue, again at significant cost!! She was booked back in for a check and vaccine if she was showing better health and that she was, so the second visit was for her vaccine. Shortly after she went downhill again, but was perking up with the medication for pain, back to the vets, 3rd visit, third charge! This vet made a hald arsed effort at checking her teeth, there may be spurs but no further action. After this is became clear she was perking up and eating after pain meds and going down hill when they wore off, clearly her teeth!! 4th visit, finally a vet checked her teeth properly and diagnosed a spur which was digging into her tongue and causing her significant discomfort, WHY DID IT TAKE NEARLY A WEEK TO GET TO THIS POINT?! Booked back in for a 5th appointment to have this spur filed down and since the costs up to now have been all over the place I also requested an upfront expected invoice, this made it clear we had already been over charged for the previous injections, and this invoice also had 2 dental procedures on it?! No faith at all in the vets now so we are taking Pepper elsewhere. 10 years using Withy Grove across 3 house rabbits, this clearly isnt Withy Grove anymore though, this is the dreaded Medivet, doubled the cost, halved the service and become utterly useless! I'll be in touch in due course and through the appropriate channels to make a formal complaint to the practice, to the Royal Collage of Veterinary Surgeons and for a full refund, we will never use Withy Grove ever again!!

Negative experience: Avoid this place. 9am on Friday, the practice manager checked my cats surgical wound and said it was fine. At 7pm we ended up at the emergency vets - as this practice refused to accommodate - with an infected wound, that to a trained professional, would have been apparent at 9am. After having more surgery, for which they charged an additional £150 for medications. I enjoyed the incredibly rude Jo informing me I had ‘got what you wanted’ because they had ‘waived’ the fee of follow-up surgery & appointments. Don’t go here!

Fantastic experience: Fantastic experience! Best vets around!

Positive experience: Staff very friendly however they charge twice as much for ear drops!! When I asked how much it costs to issue a prescription, it turned out to be £25. I don't understand why I have to pay for the visit and then for the prescription to be issued on the same day. I hope the government will take care of this soon.

Negative experience: Since Medivet took over Withy Grove, I’m very sad to say the practice is now primarily focused on profit, with pets and owners taking a definite secondary concern. The charge today, without any actual treatment taking place, based on the four minutes the vet spent with my dog, equates to an hourly charge of £1,455 an hour, (£10.25 per min). So we are seriously looking to find another vets that have the priorities the right way round!!!

Negative experience: Used to be the best vets around but they have been taken over recently and now they just don't answer the phone. May be great when you go in but what use is a vet if you can't book an appointment or get in touch with them! Recent experience at the vets with a locum being in to see my dog, test results taking longer than they have done previously and then overcharged for the service to then be told it may be 'a few weeks' before I receive a refund for what I was overcharged.

Fantastic experience: We had an incredibly emotional but ultimately positive experience with this practice. Our parents’ cat had unfortunately been let down by a previous vet over the last three months. That vet did not do enough research into her illness, which left my parents beside themselves with worry and unanswered questions. Sadly, she has now been diagnosed with lymphoma. In just a 20-minute consultation, the team here explained more to us than we had been told in the entire three months beforehand. Although there is nothing that can be done to cure her and we know she will eventually pass away, the care, honesty, and compassion shown to us meant everything. They have provided treatment to help slow the progression of the illness and to keep her as comfortable as possible. From the very first phone call, everyone was kind, understanding, and reassuring. We were seen within half an hour, which we are incredibly grateful for. The kindness and support we received during such a heartbreaking time will never be forgotten. We have now registered our other cat with this practice without hesitation. Thank you so much to the whole team for your professionalism, empathy, and genuine care. Please make sure you do your research when choosing a vet — it truly can make all the difference.

Negative experience: Not impressed it's the second time I have been recently where I didn't get value for money. Charging£55 for medication that didn't work.... I'm going to find somewhere else

Positive experience: Lovely welcoming & caring staff. Clean & tidy practise, with a separate sitting area for cats & their owners ❤️ Only reason for 4/5 was because of cost but that's probs the same for all vets!!

Fantastic experience: I have to be very honest, the reception staff are not the most welcoming at all at this practice and I have been a few times. However, the 5 star review comes as a result of the actions of one of the Vets, Catherine. I had to have my 4 year old German Shepherd, Frank put to sleep on Friday just gone. Catherine was amazing: she was so compassionate; showed great empathy and really put my husband and I at ease and most importantly, she put Frank at ease. She went as far to give him a kiss on his forehead whilst she administered the drugs. What was a really emotional experience, was made, very much better by Catherine's actions. She absolutely cared about my beloved dog and her actions very much showed that. She is an absolute credit to her profession and a great representative of Medivets. I absolutely would have no hesitation in recommending her services.

Negative experience: Unimpressed, yet again, with a long delay in being seen. Rocked up to the appointment 5mins early; met with silence and no eye contact / no welcome / no ‘hi, I won’t be a minute’ from reception. When I was finally seen I was told to take a seat and someone would be with me… 35mins later I had to chase for an update, only to be told I hadn’t been ‘checked in’! Other than that the vet I saw was very good; he looked after my cat and let me know what’s going on and treated it best he could at that time

Fantastic experience: Withy grove is the best bets by far, we get to see the same vets everyone, which we prefer to they get to know my animals. O can highly recommend this place for anyone with any animal, so they can experience what we do.

Fantastic experience: I was really concerned when the practice changed from Withy Grove to Medivet, particularly as one of my cats Spice was born at the vets and hand-reared by them. But Suanne, who has remained with Medivet has shown nothing but care and love for him, going above and beyond when he has needed a helping hand. Suanne is an outstanding vet. For a while I was concerned with some of the team members but my visit yesterday showed new team members who were kind and caring and took time to get to know me and Spice - I appreciated that. As with all vets the costs need reviewing but I appreciate that is vet practices everywhere and so that is one for the medivet chain. Thank you.

Negative experience: Amazing staff, first class service, your pet couldn't be in better hands. No longer use since they changed to medivet, prices increased and a lot of the original staff left, it went from a caring vet ( Withy Grove) to what seemed a money making business, with lots of extra tests being pushed, It completely lost the personal, caring touch that they once gave, I had been with Withy Grove for 20+ years, and taken various pets through the years, its a shame when the smaller vets practices get taken over by the big companies.

First one was a emergency appointment to sadly put our pet hamster down, such a heart breaking time was then filled by complete care and compassion. We now take our others there and the staff always go above and beyond for our pets no matter which make and breed. So thank you so much for being a great vets and making all our pets feel part of the medivet family

Fantastic experience: I was concerned when Medivet took over, I thought prices would be expensive but they are reasonable. The vet that neutered my kittens was fantastic, he explained everything and was very loving to the kittens, he put my mind at ease. They also did a free consultation two after the Op to check the girls were ok. The reception staff were great, we had to call a few times about the girls and they were very helpful.

Negative experience: Have been with this practice for over 8 years, but since Medivet has taken over, it has become more about money than the welfare of the animals. At last appointment I was quoted £600 for an unnecessary elbow x ray when the treatment plan would be the same whatever the outcome and charged £57 for 14 tablets. I've really lost faith now and am actively looking to move elsewhere...would not recommend.

Fantastic experience: First time at this vets and first time puppy owner. Lovely, friendly, helpful staff. The girls on the desk were welcoming and friendly and helpful on the phone when I registered. The vet me and my puppy Rory saw was great at answering all my questions, very patient and great with Rory. Glad I chose this vets.

Having been a little concerned about some blood tests of my faithful old cat I was very reassured by Catalan who arranged a repeat test which revealed all back to normal. Negative experience: Be to this vets over a number of years and has always had prompt service, but the last two occasions waiting more than 30 minutes past the appointment time is not acceptable. One being the first appointment of the day. This needs to improve otherwise you will loose customers fast.

Fantastic experience: At the beginning of June we brought our rabbit here and saw Catalin Sova. He was very professional. He took his time over the examination of our rabbit and even explained things we hadn’t been told before. He even brought the operation needed forward to the same day to save me going back again the next day and so our rabbit could be sorted as soon as possible. He spotted things a previous vet had missed and the operation was a success and we had a happy rabbit again. Thank you to everyone involved.

Fantastic experience: I used to love Withy grove veterinary practice, However when Michael sold the practice to medivet and the staff all left one by one we did too. The cost is extremely high now and there is not the same staff empathy with the animals kindness and understanding . I am not saying they are bad people I am just saying it does not suit myself or my pets anymore.

Fantastic experience: Have all my pets registered with Medivet Bamber Bridge. Have always found the practice very accommodating-especially when I have needed an urgent appointment. Most recent appointment was with my 14 week old kitten- vaccination and microchip. The vet took his time with the kitten and I felt it mattered to him to 'not hurt' my kitten. Staff are always friendly. I highly recommend Medivet Bamber Bridge.

Negative experience: Really poor experience, was told one price then whilst at the Vets the price was increased by over £500, this vets seem to be all about the money and charge extortionate prices, not confident in the vets knowledge and experience of dealing with animals, if I could leave 0 stars I would. Wouldn't reccomend at all.

Fantastic experience: We took our very nervous Yorkie to the vets today and we had the pleasure of seeing Grace who answered every query and concern thoroughly even though she was pushed for time due to a busy clinic . Thank you for giving Didz a calm visit x <3

Negative experience: Disgusted with the entire surgery, different vets each time and seemed clueless. Last time I attended, 13 months ago my cat started with breathing issues relating to her heart however she was sent home. Returned 2 days after where the vets stressed her out so much trying to cannulate and scan her, failed to get good imaging as sedation was inadequate. End result was she was so distressed and heart failing I had to have her put to sleep, although they'd pushed for more tests and overnight stays. The attitude of the first vet was disgusting and I believe she no longer works there. Money orientation, not care for the animal or owners. I paid everything up front and now they decided that they didn't charge for the actual euthanasia! 13 months later, didn't bother to ring me, didn't send a letter and pretended to have emailed me. There mistake but threatening to put it on debt collection! Aborant surgery with incompetence at the helm. Do not take your beloved pet there as they are all about the money and nothing else.

Negative experience: Never in my 50 plus years of dog ownership have I turned up at a vets to be told he cant have his booster jab (booked weeks ago) as you've run out and had to send to another practice to collect some, but, no guarantee it would be here before closing. No phone call to stop me attending. 20 minutes after appointment time before I'm told. With a rescue dog who hates going to the vets and other dogs.

Fantastic experience: The only Vets who I would trust with my dog. They are the complete solution. From the tip of his nose to the tip of his tail, my dog is VERY well looked after here. 11/10 for all they do for all animals

Negative experience: During our yearly vaccination visit we where asked if we needed anything and mentioned that we could do with some flea treatment. A product was recommended but no mention of cost. When paying for the bill we where in a rush as we have a reactive dog so needed to vacate before another dog turned up. Once we got home we noticed we had been charged £106 for the flea treatment tablets. I called the very next day as the practice was now shut and was told that the price was correct and that we could not have a refund as we had left the building. At no stage did anyone tell us that these tablets where so expensive. If they had we would have declined them. We have been coming to this practise since we lived here in 2021 and feel totally ripped off, especially when these same tables can be purchased for more than half this price elsewhere. I know we should have checked the price before paying, but to not be able have a refund as we had left the building is ridiculous. The box is still unopened. We will be taking our business elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: Since Medivet have taken over Withy Grove Pet Practice I have had nothing but praise for Medivet and their staff. Alfie Cocker has been treated with the utmost care and attention as he was under Withy Grove. 10/10

I swapped vets 3 years ago, as they offered Laparoptic Spay, and we've never looked back. Excellent post op service, along with the now annual boosters, and check-ups. Highly recommended.

Negative experience: Only interested in the money. Quoted £460 to remove something from my cats throat. The day after I was told £980. Absolute rip off. Customer service is non existent. Money motivated franchise.

Fantastic experience: Words can’t express how much peace I felt after my recent visit. I’ve been visiting this vets with all my rescues for around 15 years so after phoning to book an appointment I was left feeling hesitant to find out Withy Grove had been taken over by medivet. I’ve had terrible experience in the past with a large vet group (VetsForPets). But, after seeing Andrei and Oliver and the way they treated my old girl I was left with nothing but gratitude. These guys had exactly the right energy and I feel like this is what I’ve been looking for all my life with animals. Thank you so much.

Positive experience: Not good, the vet didn't get to look in my dogs mouth, as she my dog that is wouldn't open her mouth, so they suggested sedation, just to look in her mouth, that's just silliness. So how come she had an operation. And she likes the vet there but not at medivets in bamber bridge. All the vets they have, and not one of you can, tame my dogs temperature, or look in my dogs mouth, then, plus my dog doesn't like them, as she wants to go as soon as she gets there?

Fantastic experience: The reception staff where very nice and friendly. The vet that took care of my cat was so nice and caring, gave her a proper good check and her injection and really took care of her.

Fantastic experience: I have been registered with Withy Grove Vets for close to 12 years. It is a busy practice but they have always taken great care of our much loved dog either in person or over the phone. Medivet run a pet plan so all his regular needs are taken care of in a single monthly payment which makes caring for him easy and straightforward. Highly recommend.

Negative experience: 2025 update: our cats are still here (they won’t be after today) and nothing has improved. Currently been sat half an hour AFTER our appointment time to be seen, people coming in after us and getting seen before us, no comment of them running behind or any apology. This place has dived massively since Medivet took over, it’s all about the money now not the pets or owners. Use a different vet and save yourself the hassle. 2023 review: Took our dog here since he was a pup. He doesn’t like going to the vets, but even though he barks he wags his tail and is a big softie. The supposed vet wanted to muzzle a frightened dog to give him his injections, backing him into a corner first. Everyone knows you don’t back a dog into a corner. We’ve used this vet for years for all our pets but the service and prices have worsened since they were taken over by Medivet. Just be warned the 4.6 stars they have is based on the previous owners. Just an update, our dog went to his new vets today in hoghton and the difference was noticeable. They knew how to handle a scared dog, they ticked his book for all his injections, they actually did a full check up of his health that had never been done at withy. Best decision we made, would advise others to do the same for the health of their dog.

Negative experience: This used to be a good practice. The staff were really accommodating to my dog that has nervous aggression. Yesterday I was charged £61 for a check up and repeat prescription which consisted of weighing my dog and looking at him. Previously my check ups were discounted because my dog is forced go to an appointment every 6 months to get pills that he needs to live a good quality of life. The last 2 times I have been the vet has had no idea about my dogs nervous aggression and has proceeded to try and examine the dog and encroach on his personal space causing him distress. This tells me that pet notes are not being read prior to the pet being seen. This practice is now money focused not pet focused. Prices for required medication are also extortionate so I have to source the medication myself from affordable vets online. This needs to stop there is no need for these ridiculous prices. You are putting pets at risk. When people can’t afford these prices the pets will suffer.

Negative experience: Please take the time to look at the responses they are computer generated generic responses that says it all. I contacted the medivet company they bombarded me with science and technical terns and did not discuss the attempt to rip me off and added £700 for making a phonecall. Some of the staff there may well be very nice but the large bully boy company that have taken over do nothing for a local vets. Absolutely useless and would never return and the young female vet who saw my dog went way over board and cost me thousands after telling me spend the money or put your dog down. Nothing wrong with my dog after a bit of rest and recuperation!!!

Fantastic experience: Can't thank these guys enough, emergency bleeding I couldn't stop with my 13 year old greyhound rang them and within 15 minutes I was there and they were treating her, all the staff were amazing and very supportive, thank you so much and Cassie is now sleeping soundly

Negative experience: I’ve just been into this vets and I have to say the place is awful. The building is dark, dingy , smashed windows, worn floored with no natural light at all. It literally feels like you’re taking your vet to be put to sleep. Changed practice immediately , I can’t believe this place is even allowed to be a practice. What an absolute awful feel to that place. Changed practices immediately and won’t be going again.

Fantastic experience: Today was a hard day for me but was made so much easier by the staff and Charlott. From the moment I arrived to me leaving they where all professional supportive and gave me loads of time to say good buy to my beloved fur friend. Even during my dogs life even in last few weeks with visits around his health they where always supportive and amazing so how anyone can give 1 star is beyond me. Negative experience: Since micheal has left and medi vets have taken over your animal is just a number . Extremely exspensive no car. No payment plans want the money no help.. I have moved vets and very happy where I have gone . Stay clear of this vets terrible.. also they never answer the phone . And the receptionist are rude and ignore you .

Negative experience: Rubbish customer service poor staff training - phoned to make an appointment to change the microchip was told on the phone no problem, when I got there I was charged £44 for a checkup I didn’t ask for/ need and was charged £22 for some “anti sickness” medication I could have bought offline for a fraction of the cost. Staff were very rude and not helpful

Negative experience: Unfortunately the vet we saw I found rude, non informative and judgmental. Due to the lack of clarification on what the potential diagnosis could mean or actions that could be taken, we decided to take our dog to another veterinary practice for further investigations, to which contradicted advice/ diagnosis that we was given by your vet. (Who suggested euthanasia) Hopefully we was just unlucky enough to see this particular vet whilst he was having a bad day perhaps and no other pet owners are made to feel as horrid as I felt after leaving that day

Negative experience: My puppy has some congenital issue which was not spotted by previous VET. We knew nothing until the my puppy was brought to this VET for skin check. I was worrying about the GBP2000 surgery fee. VET there said in our case we are able to claim fully. The VET here turns out speaking to my insurance that we've already know the puppy's congenital issue. The insurance refused to pay a pound. We had emails back and forth but they insist they are correct and made stuff up. The claiming process is opaque. They insist they will be the representative to hand in the claim form. They don't and won't need to talk with you. With so many 1 star reviews, I highly recommend you go for another VET

Negative experience: Used to be a great vets, but now they seem to just chase money. Was quoted £41 just for a minutes consultation to get some prescription medication (and the cost of that on top). This is despite being on the vets scheme. Looking for another vets that aren't ruined by corporate greed.

Negative experience: Up until the take over by Medivet, this vets was outstanding. Sadly its now a chaotic unprofessional mess. Firstly, a bill I paid, on the day, in February 2024 remains outstanding on their system and its now almost June. Despite providing a receipt, this has still not been actioned. Secondly, I, have morphed into a rabbit! Surprisingly I now have 3 rabbits on their system, the new one being me! I have told them about this three times, yet I must have very large ears as they are refusing to remove me. Thirdly, I put my rabbit through the stress of being taken to the vets today for his booster. They knew it was for a booster. I was called in by the vet, after waiting, and told they didn't have any vaccines. Well, enough is enough, I've now sourced a new vet and a formal complaint to head office will follow.

Negative experience: I would not recommend this vets anymore (since it became medivet). The vets are quite rude, and we very rarely had anyone pick up the phone. When my cat was dying we couldn’t get through to make an appointment or get through when we decided to move to a new vets and wanted our cats medical notes. Awful service

Negative experience: I used this vets yrs ago they were amazing . Not any more . My parents used them 18 months ago and said never again. The vet was extremely rude. My daughter used them this week and said they were extremely rude and she will not b returning! Smh

Negative experience: Been ok up until now over 1 hour I waited to get answered on the phone to book appointment as can’t do it online also got charged for something I wasn’t made aware of or asked for promised a phone call back to no avail. Shocking customer service do not care about customers just want to steal your money and get away with it

Fantastic experience: Our cat has been treated by this vet for 4 years for diabetes and has always received nothing but the best care by becca who previously worked here and now Shannon. She recently had a very dangerous hypoglycaemic episode and the vets have no doubt saved her life and we will be eternally grateful . Yes it is hard to get through on the phone but once you are through the care is amazing.
