Fantastic experience: Amazing service as always! The team has looked after all of my pets for many years and have always been so accommodating. The receptionist team, vets and nurses truly go above and beyond. I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my pets!
Negative experience: Was going well until the vile experience I had today, lost £75 deposit for a simple vaccination for being 10 minutes late. The receptionist was unwilling to help and kept wanting to make another appointment emphasising I lost my deposit. Really think I want to give you more money? **Update** So immediately you're going to start off by lying.I had two appointments, Yes I missed the first one. But I was only 10 minutes late for the second appointment, to include the second appointment for my second cat and call it half hour just shows what liars you are. You should be ashamed of yourself. Also we've already contacted you about refunding the £17, also please dont be condescending like this is a gesture of good will, after you just out and out lied here. Do you really think I will trust you with my cats after you lied?

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are truly sorry that your experience with us didn’t meet your expectations. Regarding the £75 deposit, I understand how disappointing it must have been to lose this payment, especially when you were running late. However, as you were in fact 27 minutes late for your appointment, this unfortunately left only 3 minutes of the scheduled time for both of your pet’s vaccination and health check. Please know that we take deposits for all appointments to help ensure our schedule remains efficient and that we can accommodate other clients who may need our services.
I also want to clarify that the appointment time was confirmed on the phone with your wife on November 24th 2025 when the appointment was booked, and she had received an email reminder as well. During the call, a second party in the background confirmed that the 11.30am appointment time was suitable. Additionally, as our telephone conversation are recorded, we have a recorded confirmation of this exchange which we would be happy to provide a copy for your reference.
I also understand that there was a previous missed appointment for one of your pets and while we are always committed to helping our clients, we must sometimes take these circumstances into consideration when scheduling future visits. Unfortunately, due to our limited availability and the fact that our only consulting veterinary surgeon was fully booked the rest of the day with other appointments, we were unable to offer an alternative time on that occasion.
As a gesture of goodwill, we are happy to refund the remainder of the visit minus the consultation fees missed. Our team has already reached out to you regarding this refund, and we hope this helps to address some of your concerns.
If there’s anything else we can do to resolve this or if you would like to discuss this further, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Positive experience: I've been a customer for a few years. Most importantly, the veterinary staff are consistently excellent. On the other hand, one might expect the reception staff to be a bit more capable and helpful than they generally are.

Negative experience: Worst experience with vet in my life careless place ,everything is about money my cat broken leg and because my surgery did not answer call for apoitment , I decided to use this place as a emergency because I was worried . For pack medicine pain killers and rtg scan with anaesthetic I spend with apoitment 800£ one scan !!!!! After this they call me to inform me that I have two option surgery over 5000£ or the lady on the phone realised it’s a lot of money for me to afford with laughing voice say we can cut the Leg for 1500 if that’s suit you without any empathy or any suggestion of payment plan whatsoever. Never in my life I will use this place again !!!!!!!!! Money grabber that’s all Thanks good my original surgery been able to help me and sorted everything for 1500£ which is still a lot but affordable at this time

We’re very sorry to hear that you were unhappy with your experience at our practice, and we understand that it was distressing to see your cat in pain and needing to make serious medical decisions.
Our team works hard to provide the best care possible to every patient and to communicate treatment options transparently, especially in urgent situations like Laura’s. After reviewing the phone calls and appointment details, we can confirm that you contacted us after Laura had returned home limping at 12.45pm, and that you mentioned he was not registered with any veterinary practice at that time. We offered you the soonest available appointment that day at 1.30pm, which was declined in favour of a later time at 16.45pm.
Following examination, Laura was diagnosed with a hindlimb fracture, and our vet provided estimates for both specialist surgery (as we do not perform orthopaedic surgeries in-house) and amputation, which is a more affordable though understandably a difficult option. While we regret that this discussion caused upset, our records show that the conversation was conducted professionally and with empathy. We’re especially sorry if anything we said came across as insensitive as that was never our intention.
With regard to payment options, we do offer plans via providers like Deko and Klarna. While this was not brought up in your conversation, it is something we would have been happy to discuss if asked. However, we were also informed that you were considering taking Laura abroad for treatment, which may be why this wasn’t explored further during the call.
Regarding the cost of your visit, we’d also like to clarify that the total bill was considerably less than £800 as mentioned. This included the initial consultation, pain relief, anaesthesia, and the X-rays.
We’re pleased to hear that Laura is now doing well under the care of your original vet, and we genuinely wish him a full and speedy recovery. We also appreciate your feedback, and we’ll continue working to ensure that every client feels supported, informed, and cared for during such stressful times.

Negative experience: 3 vaccinations paid for total amount of £390 and no vaccine was made. They cancelled my last appointment for being late 3 min.

We always strive to accommodate our clients as best we can, but we also need to follow our practice policies to ensure fairness and smooth operation for all our clients and team members. We understand that sometimes things come up, which is why we aim to be as flexible as possible.
In your case, we noted multiple missed appointments—two in June and one in July—as well as arriving 13 minutes late to your 15 minute appointment in September. These were short appointments, and arriving over 7 minutes late unfortunately made it difficult to proceed without affecting the schedule of others.
Despite this, and although a non-arrival fee is part of our standard policy, we applied a goodwill credit to your account in addition to the existing credit you may not have realised was already there.

Fantastic experience: such lovely people. our cat actually ran out of Pets at Gome and around the car park for around half an hour. between the two of us attending, the Pets at Home security guard, and the 3 vets we managed to get him inside and looked at. they were supportive and helpful and i will most definitely be using them in the future
Negative experience: They’re taking my wife’s cat and because she can not afford to pay the bill they are going to take the cat off her which she loves very much and even want her to take it down to Vet today won’t come and pick it up I’ve never heard of a Vet that won’t come and pick an injured cat up

Fantastic experience: Everyone that works here is an angel, I can’t say a single bad thing about any of the workers or facilities. My cat Fish had to go there due to liver failure and even though he sadly passed away due to how bad his condition was prior to arriving the staff helped me every step of the way, they helped me spend the last last minutes of his life with him in my arms. I suggest everyone take their pets to vets4pets gypsy lane. And thank you to all the vets and staff that helped, I miss my little boy so much but I’m just happy that thanks to you guys I managed to be with him one last time ❤️
Fantastic experience: I am so pleased with the service we received for our sweet little girl Bailey. Sadly we had to put her to forever sleep on the weekend. I didn’t personally go down but my mum and dad could not stop saying how amazing they were treating Bailey especially Hannah, how warm and caring she was towards our Bailey. Once we received our paw prints and lock of hair the card just topped it off. I can’t thank you guys enough for all you have done and how you made this tough time a little more easier. Positive experience: We adopted a kitten and this the vets he was registered with. Pretty good over all, they did fit us in short notice which in once instance which was helpful. We were kept waiting twice though and I think we were forgotten about until I went to reception. Would probably use again if we couldn't go to our normal vets.

Positive experience: I came in today as my dog has been feeling not his normal self and he was not able to walk all day I have told the vet that he has been feeling pain in his right leg she said she will have to take a look and that it would be £97 Pound I ask her can I come in a different day as I was thinking the price was overpriced and too much she just told me that it’s closed tomorrow and she gave me a leaflet and said that the other people will take more than they are asking for she has never told me that I can come in a different day and pay less I wouldn’t have any problem and when they took in my dog to check what is wrong they came right back out and it hasn’t been even 1 minute and basically told me what I told them what’s wrong with my dog I think I have been treated very wrong and they have not provided me with more options I have never seen anything like this in my entire life I wish they could of helped me out a bit more but they just didn’t seem to care I told them that they have done nothing to take that much money I would understand if it was £40 pound but I think to pay £97 pound and do nothing and provided me with the same information I gave them is ridiculous I feel very upset and sad that I want to cry with this matter they didn’t even look like they care what I’m saying to them and now I don’t know how I feel about my dog being registered there as they don’t seem to care at all about my dog it worries me I feel very upset and that they have not done anything to help my dog he is still in pain and they took so much money from me to just come back out to tell me what I have told them its very sad and upsetting as they don’t care they only care about the money I hope things could change there in store and help and care more about their customers and pets.

Positive experience: Family cat suddenly unwell, called and was offered an emergency appointment and told to head straight down. From arrival the receptionists were friendly and welcoming, a nurse took our cat to triage within a minute or two of arriving. The vet was lovely clearly explained everything, gave multiple options of what to try and was able to run a blood test and provide the results while we waited. Very grateful for such fantastic care and service! *Update* At the time of this review we had been offered direct claims rather than paying for treatment upfront as it was a condition which was being claimed for regularly (I had the money ready to pay so hadn't asked) I agreed it sounded like a great idea as we're insured with petplan to then have the following week a call from the practice manager asking for full payment for the treatment we'd had. When I tried to explain the boss of this clinic had offered a direct claim I was told I was incorrect as "the don't do direct claims" so why offer it then. Sorry but 5 now going down to 3 purely for this lack of communication and rudeness on the phone.

Negative experience: The customer service is horrible. Especially from Francesca Wise. If I call the store she asks how she can help I tell her my problem she put me on hold and then comes back twice and ask again how she can help. But I told her already what I want what I need etc. She just forgets people on the line. The last couple of times I was waiting at least half an hour each to get “helped”. Unbelievable. She is also very rude. As well as if I want to book an appointment they only can give it 2 months later at least. But when you are there nobody is waiting, the vets' room is empty. They just don't want to work! I actually wanted to give starts in minus but I couldn't unfortunately. Don't go to vets4pets Gipsy Lane! It's horrible!
Positive experience: Card machine is not working. Insisted on cash or bank transfer. We wanted to pay by our credit card as this was £450. We were told no even though our pet is back today and possibly back tomorrow and we are regular customers. I asked if we could pay on Friday when the machine is working again. Was told no. I asked if head office could take our card payment. Was told no. Lord knows what happens with todays payment because we do not have hundreds of pounds sitting in our correct account especially during these difficult times. This was the only issue and as mako is very unwell we had no choice. The out of hours vets however took card and made my insurance claim for us
Fantastic experience: Me and bunny come to the clinic regularly as he’s got an ongoing disease. He received an excellent care from the clinic and from all the nurses and Vets. I would like to say a massive thank you to everyone and especially to Louise, Priyanka & Leika. They love Haze and they always go above and beyond to help him.
Fantastic experience: My cat neeed to be rushed in after being hit by a car, from the panicked call to the reception team to popping in for a recheck I've been treated so kindly. The vets didn't hesitate to get to work on my cat when I arrived treated him quickly, sweetly and kindly as if he was their cat. All medicines were explained properly and my cat is well on the way to recovery, the regular check ups have been both reassuring as an owner and realistic from the perspective of someone who still needs to go to work.. overall amazing and thank you
Negative experience: Shocked to be charged £46 for eye drops only to find I could buy the exact ones online for £5.99. Having paid separately for the actual appointment I cant believe you then fleece your customers to this extent for medicines. Very underhand!

Fantastic experience: Every time I bring my dog here I’m always blown away by how friendly and kind the staff are. The receptionists are fab and love to make a fuss of my boy. The vets and nurses are so understanding and caring. It’s such a reassuring experience for both myself and my boy, especially as we’re both usually a bit anxious. 100% recommend Vets for Pets, Gypsy Lane, Luton.
Fantastic experience: Great, close attention given where an extremely urgent and life threatening matter was quickly spotted by Veronika leading to the eventual removal of the spleen through a splenectomy; an unusual operation that would have been a complicated thing to do. Basically, Veronika is Miley’s saviour.. full stop.. and I now have a dog that is so much better and has been given a new lease of life. The infected spleen caused an all over bacterial skin infection leading to significant hair loss which, now that the spleen has been removed, we can now move on to resolve this particular skin issue. Thankfully, Veronika is the skin specialist so I know that I am in very capable hands; especially now that I know that it isn’t ringworm….. The utter stress for the management (for when the earlier diagnosis was ringworm) was physically and mentally draining so with the thorough and intelligent mind that Veronika has, has allowed me to be so much more completely comfortable with Miley’s treatment. In addition, ALL of the reception care advisors connected with me on such a relatable and charming level that genuinely relieved my very evident pain and distress. With kindness, they alleviated the potential of the complete heartbreak that I might have endured if the absolute worst scenario could have occurred to my little best friend, Miley, who has been a true support throughout my own personal very awful recent events. The 'direct claim' insurance process is a super complicated matter that I had to navigate through as it was through a 'non preferred' insurer that Vets4Pets didn't normally use. I am grateful that the right decisions were eventually made by the Vets & Insurers to secure Miley’s life saving treatment. Insurance gives a person a sense of protection and the truth of the matter is that the loops and hurdles that one needs to go through are traumatic, to say the least, at a time of severe pain and misery. A lesson that is now learnt and will never be forgotten. With my insurance, the payout hasn't increased in line with inflation or with the COL (I signed up with my insurer in 2010 with a £4k cover), meaning that the money that it cost for treatment went extremely, extremely quickly!!. A lesson that will be communicated to as many people as I possibly can to keep our beloved furry friends protected at a critical time; especially during this ‘cost of living’ crisis, where unnecessary suffering to animals must be occurring, to my utter shame for those that have imposed this disastrous situation on humans and animals alike. Overall, I have not been with Vets4Pets long but I now feel that I have made connections with people (animal lovers) to secure Miley’s wellbeing for however long I have left with her; long may she remain….
Fantastic experience: I have been looking for a vet practice where I feel that my pet is important and that the vet actually likes animals. I am also not keen on having a vet push unnecessary treatment my way, which wasn’t done at all. The visit was a very positive experience, I left fully understanding my pets issue and continued course of action. I’ve tried a few different practices over the years and this was by far the best place I’ve been to.

Negative experience: Gone down hill after the pandemic always used to text me when my dog was ready for yearly jab, was told at one time can leave my dog for up to 3 years without a jab personally think they couldn't be bothered,then not too long ago went to the vets for pets up gypsy lane Luton whom I'm registered with and said my dog will need her yearly jab but no one as bothered to emailed me,all I got from 2 young receptionist was we have lots of members and HR deals with that ,don't think so just lazynes gone to a different vets now

Fantastic experience: I would like to thank Erin from Vets At Home Gypsy Lane for going above & beyond expectation. My baby Dolly hadn't been well & each time Erin got me an urgent appointment, she was so king & caring. Unfortunately Dolly passed away several weeks ago, again Erin was fantastic, she let me come in through the back gate as I couldn't face going through the shop as I was in bits, she consoled me so much, her empathy was amazing. She then contacted me last week as I'd left Dolly's blanket and she dropped it to my home. You are very lucky to have such a great employee working for you ! I will be forever grateful for all she done.

Fantastic experience: So brilliant. My dog needed an operation but has high stress levels. They catered brilliantly for his needs. Nothing was too much trouble to see he was happy. Seen all the vets here at different times with my dogs and they are all really good. Nurses and reception staff too. Would not go anywhere else with my dogs.

Negative experience: Okay, if you've a dog, the shop seems to be dedicated to the four-legged creatures. What about more care for the smalled creatures? We have a budgie who needed help as he wasn't well, no help available.

Fantastic experience: This is in relation to the veterinary side of things rather than the general shop. They dealt with the end of life proceedings for our cat who developed a rapid onset cancer. I can't fault them. Compassionate, patient and caring. I have no desire to go through that again any time soon (have two rescue kittens now) but when that time comes... They also provided regular veterinary care prior to that (and for new kittens too) I might add without any issues or problems.
