Fantastic experience: Really lovely, kind, knowledgeable staff.

Fantastic experience: When you have a poorly cat, The Oxford Cat Clinic is the place to bring them. Calming, quiet, professional and thorough. Duncan is very patient with Davey, knows that he is a very worried and anxious cat when at the vets but treats him with gentle kindness and doesn't rush him.

Fantastic experience: Unfortunately, we had cause to visit the Cat Clinic in Botley (where our Bengals have routine visits on their care plans) due to one of our boys getting badly injured...not entirely sure how, but he was badly bruised, grazed, lost fur down one side and pretty limp and shocked (possibly an RTA??). The service at the clinic was excellent. Same day appointment, with extremely caring and thorough examination, followed by medications, treatment, with ongoing care and further examination/treatment the next day. Various care and treatment options were clearly and fully presented to us to select the most suitable with the vets advice. Outstanding care and overall treatment plan. Im happy to say, our little treasure is making a steady and full recovery....though he's definitely used up at least one of his 9 lives!! Thank you to the team at Botley Cat Clinic

Fantastic experience: Our visit was everything you want when your pet is unwell. Everything was explained to me and a blood test was done while I waited. Although a return trip is necessary, I am more than happy and would recommend The Cat Clinic should your cat be sick.

Fantastic experience: The cat clinic staff are always polite and courtious. They are always pleased to see my cat and state how lovely he looks. They are knowledgeable about what needs to be done(if anything) and always recommends the best way forward for him.

Fantastic experience: I can highly recommend this Veterinary practice. All the staff are kind and helpful. The appointments are 20 minutes long, which means the cats can spend some time just familiarising them selves with their surroundings. No other animals are treated at the practice, so the cats can relax, without feeding threatened.

Fantastic experience: The Oxford Cat Clinic did a great job looking after our special little friend who got an eye infection! The drive over stressed her out but after she was out of the carrier she was exploring the room and very relaxed. The vet also did a good job of reassuring the human in the room (probably a harder task tbh!) Everything was explained clearly and what the next steps would be. Very happy with the service and while I obviously hope to only see them for vaccinations, it's good to know our cat is in safe hands if anything goes wrong

Fantastic experience: Cat well-being really is the focus of this practice The vets really love cats and take great care treating their feline patients, who are recognised as "personalities" and addressed by name. The vets listen to your description of your cat's symptoms and discuss treatment choices. The receptionists do everything they can to book appointments at convenient times with a vet who is familiar with your cat’s medical history. Getting a convenient time is especially important to me as I have hospital appointments I need to work around. The receptionists are friendly and welcoming to their feline clients, greeting them by name, as they do to their human companions. The receptionists also deal with prescriptions and orders for special foods. In my experience, emergency issues arising during surgery hours are always offered a timely, same day appointment. So important for the cats’ welfare and reducing their owners’ distress. The atmosphere in the waiting room is calm and quiet, to avoid increasing the stress levels of sick, injured and frightened cats. It is always very clean and the air is fresh The clinic is also very supportive of stressed out carers!

Fantastic experience: My visit was for a 6-month nurse’s healthcheck and an appointment with a vet to discuss a specific concern I had with a one of the cats. Everyone was kind and very professional. Their explanations of treatment and costs were very clear.

Positive experience: Fit me in after I was 20m late, knowledge and ability appeared acceptable. Did not appreciate being judged and lectured on time management. I manage emergency services with non uniform work patterns, no specific "time is better for me". I don't expect a vet to speak to me as if they are a school teacher scolding a child.

Fantastic experience: The Cat Clinic are always patient and understanding that my cat is very nervous and work carefully with him. It certainly helps that there are no dogs there to upset him. My cat has a degenerative condition and I know that I can get support and help quickly when I need this.

Fantastic experience: I have been seen straight away on the three occasions I've been but if I had to wait I imagine that would be alleviated by being cat only. Excellent handling and patience with our cat, thoroughly took the time to investigate and talk me through the heath problems and treatments. Would highly recommend.

One of my cats swallowed something she shouldn't have and the team provided an initial consultation on the phone and then advised I bring her in immediately because it might have escalated into something serious. They saw her straight away and got her sorted. Friendly, professional and super efficient from start to finish. I am so happy that we are members of this clinic - I have 100% confidence that if anything happens to my two floofs that I can rely on them to provide top-level medical care. Fantastic experience: The level of care extended to cats and their owners is second to none. I'd never take my cats anywhere else. Being able to consult a cat specialist vet, especially when your cat has complex needs, is a real boon.

Fantastic experience: Update!: 3 months on from my previous review, The Cat Clinic have been absolutely outstanding again! My cat became very suddenly unwell - The Cat Clinic have spent the last 4 days taking the most incredible care of him, and I’m so pleased to say he is now back home with a new love for life! They treat their four legged clients as if they were their own cats. 100% without a doubt would recommend them (and I will shout that from the rooftops too!) Had an incredibly positive experience at The Cat Clinic in Botley this weekend. Fiona and Steph were brilliant with me and my 14 year old cat. They were so gentle with my cat and clearly cared about him. They were also so kind and considerate to me too. I would absolutely recommend the Cat Clinic to anyone wanting the best care for their cat.

Fantastic experience: The kindest, most pro-cat vets you could wish for! We have dogs too, so we love them too, but it’s not great for cats having to wait in a dog-inclusive waiting room… at the Cat Clinic it is only cats; everything is geared to making felines happy; and I’ve never felt hurried through an appointment. From several years’ experience of coming to the Cat Clinic Botley, I’d definitely recommend them (Duncan and Eleanor have been fabulous with our cats over many appointments!)

There is a genuine warmth to everyone in clinic, and I really trust them with my cat’s welfare. I am an anxious cat owner, and they take the time to make sure I understand what’s going on and to reassure me where needed. I would recommend them to any cat owner. Both our cats also love being there - it’s all purrs and snuggles.

Fantastic experience: Just moved back to the UK from abroad and was thrilled to find a Vet that's *very* responsive and digital. Emailed receipts, easy sign-up, a really nice atmosphere at the location and very pleasant humans who clearly care a great deal about cats. update, 1 year later: absolutely stellar service. Fantastic experience: Great service. Phoned up the first day after New Year's bank holiday and got an appointment same day. Initial appointment got cancelled due to an emergency which is understandable, but the staff went above and beyond to secure me another appointment at their other branch just over an hour later on the same day. The vet was very kind, friendly and informative. We've not had our own pet before, the vet helped us feel more at ease after explaining many of our questions and concerns. Thank you!

Negative experience: Spent a fortune at this clinic with a couple of our cats in a past and recently, but finally decided to change vets after losing patience completely. Where do I start... Receptionists (or someone who answers a phone/sits at a counter) are usually completely clueless - unable to find records, provide correct information. There is no good practice of documenting things discussed, services provided, emails sent. Appointments booked online are cancelled saying that "it is too far in advance" but never call back to re-arrange the appointment as promised. Spent over a thousand last year for scans after taking in a small kitten with diarrhoea and only been given de-wormer tablets (which of course resolved it immediately) after all "essential" scans and tests. I could go on...

Fantastic experience: Just wanted to say big thank you to this amazing Cat Clinic and their staff who took quickly a stray cat to look at her as I was concern about her jaw. I called few local vet clinics and they were worried more about the payments (who will pick the bill because this cat wasn’t mine) rather than about the cat’s well-being. I was very disappointment in this attitude of other vet clinics and I was so pleased and relieved when Oxford Cat Clinic agreed to take a look at the cat as an emergency appointment. At the end the cat was ok, it wasn’t a jaw problem at all it was only a dislocated tooth not allowing to close mouth. Thank you all the staff for your compassion and understanding!

Negative experience: I took one of my cats to Oxford Cat clinic as he has not been eating for a few days. He was slotted in at the end of the day as an emergency. He was triaged by one of the nurses and when she took the cat from me she said he would be the only cat out the back. The nurse then came back through the reception where I was waiting and asked the receptionist if the vet was free as there is a potential PTS. Now it doesn’t take a genius to work out that PTS means put to sleep. This is very unprofessional from the nurse. After some investigations he was put to sleep which is a decision I am not disputing but when I returned to the practice later to be there when he was put down one of the first things from the vets mouth was have your decided what you want to do with him. This was referring to cremation, burial etc. In my opinion this was not very compassionate from the vet as it was a shock that I had to have my cat put down as he was only 6. Surely this discussion should happen after the event and not just before the event. So in summary if you want a vets practice where the nurses are unprofessional and the vets not compassionate at the end of your cats life then I would say this is the practice for you!

Fantastic experience: If you have a niggle in the back of your mind that your cat is not getting the care it deserves at your current vet, switch to the Cat Clinic today! We did and I'm so so so happy that we found them. There is a good chance our cat survived only because of their quick action and facilities. They do bloods and overnight stays on site, we had blood test results phoned through 2 hours after dropping our very poorly one off and treatment adjusted as quickly because they can provide this. The vets seem very clued up and spot things I suspect other vets might miss. The nurses seem to really nurture and care about each and every cat and understand their individual needs, ours is very very shy around other people, wont eat or sleep really outside of the house, wont allow any other people near him. He is still recovering from the anxiety but they did an amazing job, even telling us to the gram how much food he ate. Thank you so much for all you do, especially for those little tigers that are not very confident

Fantastic experience: I know staffing is tough but an appointment was made for my cat and my concerns about him 'not being quite right' we're taken seriously and the advice was cautious but did not take advantage of my anxiety with unnecessary procedures and the bill was reasonable. Our rescue boy finds vets, journeys and carriers very traumatic and we were seen and back home very quickly.

She has led me through the process of identifying and managing my cat's condition when I was beginning to loose hope that she would ever be comfortable again. It's an ongoing process, but Martha inspires confidence. I can't thank her enough. Its worth the drive from London with a cat that doesn't like travelling.

Fantastic experience: I visited the Cat Clinic in Marston and was seen by vet Eleanor . I was able to book an appointment very easily and quickly, with availability the same day if desired. Covid rules were good and adhered to well. Tash is always well looked after there and Eleanor is very thorough. It is obvious that they really care for the cats and I always feel confident that they'll do the right things for him.

Negative experience: Where do I even start with these guys... An hour late to our zoom consultation with co owner Martha (£120) Gave us the wrong cat after being looked at on our first visit, which they had to extract her urine under sedation as her bladder was too inflamed and thick (£250) Didn't reply to 2 follow up emails after her treatment to book her back in to make sure it had all gone well. I had to call in the end to find out what was going on Hadn't written us down for our follow up appointment, so I arrived to be told they had to try and "squeeze her in". Told they needed her in all day... 10 minutes was the original plan as they were confident they could do it without sedation. Told they had to sedate her because they "Couldn't find her bladder" Odd as they work specifically with cat's and as it was so big and inflamed last time. Made me wonder if they push for this considering without sedation it's £60 and with is £200. I said I would appreciate if they could get her seen to asap as I had work that afternoon and to let me know if it was to be any later. I also wanted to speak to Caroline (The other co owner) to discuss the sedation issue. I never heard back from them I rang an hour and a half later to ask how it was going, to be told she hadn't even been seen to! She's an incontinent cat that was in for a urine sample. I was lucky to get her there without her leaking out and now she's been sat in her carry case for an hour and a half. I went back and took her to our own vets where we had no issues at all. I strongly advise you look elsewhere if you want your cat to be seen in a professional and trustworthy environment.

Not only were they attentive enough to catch a rare condition that our kitten had, they are just generally very communicative, helpful, personable, and flexible. I can often get appointments within the day or at least within the week, and I feel they truly consider and care about our kitties. Can't recommend highly enough.

Positive experience: They are very good vet for cats and they are well prepared to deal with cats that don't like vets. My sister's cat wasn't easy to deal with and they made sure he was well looked after, I really admired them and they gave very good care to him. They are friendly and professional. I only took a star off as it was due to the costs which are unavoidable as my sister didn't have pet insurance. Thank you for the many many years you have looked after my sister's cat.

Fantastic experience: They are so friendly and have all the time in the word for nervous cat owners if anything goes even a little wrong. I am always listened too and they are very good at advising what treatments are a must and what you might like to wait on to see how things go. Not there for just the money but really care about the cats. A friendly, safe and professional practice that has made my cats a lot calmer on visits.

Fantastic experience: I recently adopted my first cat and called the Botley Cat Clinic to express my concerns. The staff are extremely friendly, polite, listened carefully to what I had to say and were very responsive. When I called with a particular problem they recommended that I bring him in as soon as possible and they made time for us to bring him in within 30 mins. Our cat was treated very well and all was explained over the phone clearly and precisely. Really pleased with this clinic for our first visit and definitely recommend them.
