Fantastic experience: I have a vet-reactive Vizsla. The vets & nurses at Iffley Vets go out of their way to accommodate, reassure and more than tolerate him - with humour and understanding for both me and the dog! Yesterday, we met a new vet who was absolutely excellent - she listened and adjusted her handling but showed no compromise in her necessarily firm examination of him. I left feeling confident no stone had been left unturned and relaxed because my dog had responded well or at least neutrally to her. Sadly, I don’t know her name but she is an excellent addition to Iffley Vets.

Positive experience: Good service but very expensive especially the mark up on prescriptions. Online price for Chloramphenicol eye drops £9.99 for 10ml dispenser but Iffley Vets price @£55!!

Positive experience: Welcoming and carried out a six monthly check on my dog before prescribing a repeat prescription for her. My dog arrived filthy but they were very gracious about the mess she made, dripping wet mud in the consultation room!

Fantastic experience: Iffley Vets is a wonderful practice for cats. My cat has a number of health challenges and the practice has been thorough, patient and consistent in helping me find out what whats going wrong and how to address it. They help you understand the issues and find good solutions for treatment. They always call your pet by their name and are very gentle. Administrative staff are prompt, helpful and friendly, and it’s easy to get an appointment whenever you need. The office and consultation rooms are always very clean. The VIP subscription they offer also makes a big difference and helps save money, both for preventative and reactive care.

Negative experience: Absolutely abysmal customer service from the reception staff at this vets. Completely ignored trying to check in. Completely dismissed my concerns and didn’t even let me finish talking with interrupting me. Absolutely no apology offered either. Stuck her hand in my dogs face who is clearly anxious as I’ve had to keep her out of reception due to stress and didn’t even get asked if she could approach my dog. When I said my dog didn’t want to be touched she didn’t remove herself from my dogs personal space either. The rudest reception staff I’ve ever come across

I appreciate the cost of living has gone up, and they have to make a profit, but it’s a joke how much just a 5 minute consultation/check up is. To put it into perspective, it’s over half my days wages!!

My dog is incredibly anxious due to having 2 previous mast cell tumours removed under the age of one he is not a fan of the vets and was nervous changing to a new vets but feel confident and comfortable. Fantastic experience: During the current climate it's really difficult for me to manage costs at the vet. I love my cats dearly and iffley has been really good at explaining costs and the only vet in Oxford that uses the pdsa scheme. My old vet was triple the price and they were very demanding about the money and didn't consult me on costs before procedures. Iffley has been understanding and transparent. I love my cats dearly but rising costs is a real struggle for me being a full time carer for my son so it means a lot they offer discounts and schemes to help out.

We moved out of area but still stayed registered with her, plus a more local vet for everyday things. I would always want to get Katherine’s opinion on anything difficult for our pets. We have found her sensitive, very in tune with our individual pets, and highly skilled. Really highly recommended!

Fantastic experience: Catherine is amazing with our cats. She may only see them annually but she knows exactly who they are and how to tell the two Toms apart. She listens intently, responds accordingly and is such a pleasure and comfort to see. Neither Tom flinches with her soft touch when they are vaccinated. We have moved quite a few times in 9 years of having our Toms, but one thing we have never changed is having Catherine as our vet. Thank you for all the care and fondness you show our furry family and us as well.

Negative experience: The vets were okish, but customer service and receptionist are very rude and unprofessional. Be careful with this vet practice with their hidden costs, such as leaving fee, leaving the renewal vip plan as default. Disgusting practice

Fantastic experience: My Dalmatian needed dental treatment to remove a tooth. Patrick was fantastic, very happy to spend time discussing the treatment and after care. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending him and would certainly ask for him again.

What we liked about it is we don't feel they are money driven and combine multiple medications, examinations and tests that other vets could do. They always put our dog and us first, talk openly about the costs associated with the treatment and what the alternative options are. We have moved away, so this vet is not local to us anymore, but we still make a journey to get our dog to see them.

Fantastic experience: Iffley Vets were so kind to us this week. Our dog snapped his cruciate ligament - they kindly gave us an urgent appointment A lovely young vet gave a thorough examination and explained what had happened and discussed next steps. She then referred us to a specialist vet. Meanwhile reception staff had already sent over his routine details to the specialist. We could not have been treated with greater care, kindness and great clinical treatment. This is why we have been taking our dogs to Iffley Vets for over 30 years!

Fantastic experience: Iffley vets is fantastic and work at a professional level I have been using them for many years and have multiple pets on their register I wouldn't use any other practice the staff are their and listen to any problems you have with your pets even if you call them would highly recommend them.

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend iffley vets, iffley rd, oxford ot wheatley as the best vets for yoir pets, Cameron forbes is a very experienced well renowned soft tissue surgeon and has a very vast experience in soft tissue injuries and surgery. He has over 40 years in this field and has worked in New Zealand Scotland and oxford throughout his life and career, training in Scotland. He loves and amd loves pets. He has such a gentle calming nature with pets and they trust and admire him. I habe known Cameron and iffley vets since 2007 with a cat run icer twice in 10 mints at deaths your which had no real chance of survival and had to be rescusciated and wait for surgery at frwst western referrals when he was string enoigh to take it. He only pulled through with visits from me as we hsd a unique bomd which until then they didnt even allow visits. I got them change that policy after they saw the difference it made to my cat. My cat had steel hips legs but then 10 months later was run over again on a different Rd different part of oxford after moving and afyer him in a crate for 4 months. He hsd habe his hip amputated. He didnt really recover from that but lasted a couple of years. Since then my cats have been house cats only. Iffley were great with my disabled cat during and after his accidents and since wirh my 2 dogs snd 2 other cats. I've hsd a multitude of problems with my dogs who have seen many vets and have lots of things wring wirh them inc luxating patellas and hip dysplasia and allergies. I've had 5* service from iffley vets throughout. I cannot praise the receptionist enough Wendy Carol anne and sarah. Cameron Katherine the previous partners of iffley and also the vets and Mike yhe area manager. There are other vets there and at wheatley ive just not seen them as I always see Cameron whom I trust and habe a great relationship with . So far we habe bern lucky in that Cameron was retiring but then decided not to and has stayed on instead much to our delight amd benefit. We are so lucky to still have him as our vet and still be able to see him. He is the best vet in my opinion amd definitely in soft tissue injuries and always gives a thorough exam of my dogs when we go. I can't recommend iffley vets enough and they're opening a hospital wirh all facilties including mri ct scanners tray machines etc at blackbird leys in November. Can't wait for that to benefit us all instead of relying on medivet. Thanks iffley and keep ot up. 5* Claire Adams gizmo stripe maisey .

Negative experience: While the veterinary care at Iffley Vets has long been excellent, I have been increasingly irritated by the addition of bitty charges to the cost of care. Most annoying is the administrative fee that is incurred when we make a claim to our insurer (PetPlan, which is excellent). There is no alternative to making the claim through the vet (that's one of the reasons we initially began using PetPlan), and while the charge is fairly minimal (<£10), the billing personnel begin calling immediately after the charge is incurred, wanting to collect it, rather than waiting until the next monthly appointment to do so. If the charge must be imposed, then it would be a good idea to collect it when it is convenient for the customer, rather than bothering people during their work day.
